Billy: Nothing!

Mackenzie: Can't be happening.

Billy: This is just what I needed.

Mackenzie: Don’t look at me like I stopped the elevator. You think I want to be stuck in here with you?

Billy: Can't get any reception in here.

Mackenzie: Maybe you forgot to charge it.

Billy: Come on! Answer! Eh! Hello? Hey, what's going on in here? We’re here in the elevator, stuck between the 11th and 12th floor.

Joe: Yeah, we're working on her. It's going to take a little while, but you all are just going to have to sit tight.

Billy: Looks like we could be stuck in here for a while.

Mackenzie: Great. What, is something wrong?

Billy: That voice, did that sound like Raul to you? Yeah, you're right. Doesn't make any sense why we'd all be in the elevator.

I've been waiting forever for this thing.

Jack: Nice job, buddy.

How long do you think we should keep them in there?

Jack: I'm not sure. If things don't go well we'll probably get a couple more phone calls and we'll just go from there.

Ryan: Tricia, you're here.

Tricia: Well, where else would I be, silly? Oh, dear. You know, ah, we really should get another deadbolt put on this door.

Ryan: Why'd you do that?

Tricia: I don't know, you -- you know, you never can be too careful.

Ryan: I've been looking all over for you.

Tricia: Well you found me.

Ryan: Are you okay?

Tricia: Of course. Of course I am. Do you smell that heavenly aroma coming from the kitchen? I made a roast, your favorite. So tell me, how was your day?

Ryan: It was okay.

Tricia: I'm always so amazed at how you take the pressure. Turn around, let me help you get your coat off. There we go. And let's loosen your tie. I want to you relax.

Ryan: Your father and I were worried sick about you. The doctors, too. You disappeared from the hospital without waiting for them to release you.

Tricia: Hospital? Ryan what are you talking about? The hospital is the last place that I would be right now, feeling as wonderful as I do. You know what? I, um... I brewed a pot of tea so why don't you just sit down and kick your shoes off and I'm going to get you a cup, okay?

Ryan: Okay.

Victoria: Where are you, Ryan? Why haven't you called me? Hi! You're back!

Victor: I'm very glad to be home.

Victoria: How was your trip?

Victor: Exhausting, but things went well, everything considered.

Victoria: Well good. I know you weren't too keen on being away right now.

Victor: Let's say the timing wasn't the best.

Victoria: Well, this whole situation with Nicholas has been resolved.

Victor: Yeah. I want to talk to you about that. I have a feeling there'll be some repercussions to deal with.

Victoria: Yeah, I think you're right about that.

Victor: What do you think about this Larry Warton?

Victoria: I know Nicholas promised to get him a good lawyer.

Victor: He kept his word, I'm sure?

Victoria: Yeah, of course he kept his word.

Victor: I hope that's where the whole thing will end.

Victoria: Do you think he's planning on doing more?

Victor: I know Nicholas paid some personal visits to Larry Warton in jail. And I don't think that's a very good idea because I personally think John Silva should handle the matter.

Victoria: Listen, Dad this guy's obviously going to jail for a very long time no matter what anybody does to try to help him.

Victor: Sweetheart, it bothers me that Nicholas has this much consideration for a man who obviously doesn't deserve that kind of attention, you know?

Victoria: Well, he's grateful to him. He has his freedom now. And like you said, there's not really much anybody can do to help.

Victor: Well I hope that Nicholas realizes that.

Victoria: I don't think you have to worry.

Victor: I'm not so sure.

Nicholas: Coffee, on the house, of course.

Nikki: Why don't you make it to go? I've got to get to the office.

Nicholas: Oh, so you can prepare the troops for Larry's arrival, huh?

Nikki: Yeah, either way, as best I can.

Nicholas: Yeah, I didn't know he was going show up there just as soon as he gets himself a place to live.

Nikki: I'm sure he wasn't planning on being released today.

Nicholas: No kidding. The look on his face when the judge told him he could go was priceless. Still wondering how the board is going to feel about this.

Nikki: It shouldn't be any big deal. I certainly have the authority to hire whomever I please for maintenance and shipping.

Nicholas: You make sound so easy.

Nikki: I will simply go to the director of personnel and see who's available.

Nicholas: What if you can't find anything?

Nikki: Well then we'll just create a job.

Nicholas: Mom, I'm so glad you went to bat for this guy.

Nikki: I'm happy to do so.

Nicholas: You have to know Dad is going to be very upset with both of us.

Nikki: Yeah, well that can wait.

Nicholas: Well, I'm going to be there when you tell him. Right now I'm going to head on home and spend some time with my wife.

Nicholas: Is she home alone?

Nicholas: Yeah, the kids are spending the day with Doris.

Nikki: Well then I think it's a good idea you get over there.

Nicholas: Is there anything I can do to make things easier on you?

Nikki: Honey, don't worry about me, I’m just fine. If I need something I'll call you, okay?

Nicholas: All right. You're one gutsy lady, Mom. I'm proud of you.

Nikki: I love you. I'll see you later.

Nicholas: I love you, too.

Ashley: Hi.

Brad: Hey, baby.

Ashley: So how'd you do? Did you find any dance classes for Colleen?

Brad: I'm still working on it.

[Knocking]

Brad: May I help you?

Larry: Yeah, I’m looking for Nikki Newman.

Brad: You're looking for Nikki?

Larry: Yeah, she told me to report to personnel, but that she wanted to meet with me first.

Brad: Wait a second, I know you. You were involved in Nick Newman’s case. You're Larry Warton.

Larry: Yeah, that's right.

Brad: There is no way you're going to see Mrs. Newman. I suggest you leave. Now.

Joe: Ready to get that elevator back in service?

Jack: Ah, not yet, Joe. Is that a problem?

Joe: Well, some people get kind of claustrophobic.

Jack: Don't worry, these two won't panic.

Joe: Oh. Guess folks will have to wait a few extra minutes.

Jack: Oh, no, it's all for a good cause. By the way, one more thing, is there any chance you can patch that elevator intercom into my office phone?

Joe: Yeah, I think I can do that.

Jack: I'd sure appreciate it, Joe. Oh, and I'll tell you when to start her up again.

Joe: All right.

Jack: I'd like to be a fly on the wall of that lift.

Raul: Let's hope there's no bloodshed.

Jill: Jack? Raul? What are you two doing standing down here? What's going on?

Mackenzie: Why would you think that was Raul on the intercom?

Billy: It just sounded like him. Plus he was acting kind of strange just now.

Mackenzie: Yeah, and before, too.

Billy: Really?

Mackenzie: We were supposed to meet with Sean, and then he rushed me over here and kept me waiting in the lobby.

Billy: Yeah, what's with all the urgent meetings today? Jack called me and asked me to hurry over here, too.

Mackenzie: Oh my God!

Billy: We've been set up.

Billy: Raul and Jack were in on this together.

Billy: Yeah, but why?

Mackenzie: They're trying to force to us talk.

Billy: But we don't have anything to say to each other.

Mackenzie: That's not true. You know what? Never mind. Better left unsaid.

Billy: What does that mean?

Larry: Look man, you don't understand! I'm not here to cause any trouble!

Brad: I don't think you understand! I told you to leave.

Larry: Okay, but not before I see Nikki Newman.

Brad: Okay, now I think you caused this family enough grief. Don't let the spiffy tie fool you. Just back out of here.

Larry: Look, just back off!

Brad: Are you threatening me Warton?

Nikki: What's going on here?

Brad: Man says he was looking for you. I just suggested that he leave.

Nikki: No, it's all right. I asked him here.

Brad: You did?!

Nikki: I offered him a job!

Brad: What?

Larry: Thank you. I think I'm going to wait outside, Mrs. Newman, and let you explain. Excuse me.

Brad: Tell me this is some kind of joke!

Nikki: I appreciate your concern, but there's a lot about that man you don't know.

Brad: Well the one thing we do know is that he practically destroyed your family.

Nikki: Since then he was instrumental in freeing my son.

Brad: Nikki, the man is a criminal. Do you really want him here?

Nikki: I understand your reservations, Brad. Nicholas and I had them at first, too. But we want to help him. I'm sure Sharon will agree!

Brad: Why?

Nikki: At enormous risk to himself that man came forward with vital testimony that saved my son from being prosecuted for a crime he didn't commit. In return for that Nicholas promised to help him and I'm not going go back on that promise.

Brad: You're taking a huge risk, Nikki.

Nikki: I happen to believe that Larry Warton is a changed man, and I hope the two of you won't fight me on this because as a board member I don't really think that my offering someone a job requires approval from some committee. It's not as if I’m offering him an executive position.

Brad: Well what are you offering him?

Nikki: It doesn't matter. Whatever's available! The job isn't important. The point is to get him a chance for a new start. Instead of your opposition, I would really appreciate your help!

Tricia: Here we go. Do you remember this tea service, honey?

Ryan: Your father gave it to us.

Tricia: You know you got to give Daddy credit. Considering how negative he was about our relationship, giving something so special to us. I think he's really coming around, don't you? My mom used to make tea and she used these very same cups. Mom made a big deal of tea. Dad always used to tease her for being old fashioned. But he loved it. He loved it. We all did. She'd make these little sandwiches to go with our tea. And she'd tell us stories about her childhood. Meg and I always, always looked forward to those times. We all loved her so much. And Daddy was never quite the same after she died.

Ryan: Tricia.

Tricia: No, enough of my trip down memory lane. That was yesterday. Today I have a wonderful husband. And we have a life of our own. I love you so much. Am I making you happy, Ryan? I mean, I've been a good wife, haven't I? You're not disappointed in me or anything, are you?

Ryan: No. No, Tricia, I’m not disappointed.

Tricia: I'm glad, because I thought maybe that you'd never forgiven me for losing our baby. I'm glad I was wrong. Because, because I would die if I wasn't everything you wanted in a wife.

Victor: So you agree that there will be repercussions regarding Larry Warton?

Victoria: Um, I’m sorry, Dad. Let me get this. Excuse me. [Phone ringing]

Victor: Sure.

Victoria: Hello.

Keith: Victoria, it's Keith.

Victoria: New luck finding Tricia?

Keith: No. No how about you and Ryan?

Victoria: I'm afraid not. Ryan was going to try her on her cell phone. He went to the apartment to get the number.

Keith: Okay, well I'll check back with the police. Let me know if you hear anything.

Victoria: Okay, I will.

Victor: What was that about, sweetheart?

Victoria: Tricia disappeared from the hospital.

Victor: What do you mean she disappeared? She just what, upped and left or what?

Victoria: Yeah. Ryan and her father are worried sick. I mean, the girl is delusional. She can't differentiate between past and present. She still thinks that she and Ryan are involved even though they haven't been for months.

Victor: So her father and Ryan must be very worried.

Victoria: She desperately needs help. I just hope that they find her soon, because she's on the edge. And if she slips over, God only knows what she might do.

Jack: Who made you elevator monitor?

Jill: I'm serious! You're up to something.

Jack: I wanted to meet with all the Jabot kids. I had trouble meeting with a couple of them, I canceled the meeting. I was just telling Raul.

Jill: Well Raul, you had him come all the way over here?

Jack: Yes! He's leaving right now. I'll, uh, be in touch.

Raul: Yeah, all right. I'll -- see you guys later.

Jill: My, wasn't he quiet?

Jack: What can I say? You know teenagers.

Jill: What is wrong with this elevator?!

Jack: I don't know. I'll call maintenance. Oh, here's one.

Billy: If you've got something to say, man why don't you just spit it out?

Mackenzie: Maybe I will, instead of the attitude you're giving me.

Billy: Well don't do me any favors.

Mackenzie: Just shut up, okay?!

Billy: I'm --

Mackenzie: I'm sorry.

Billy: For what?

Mackenzie: Doubting you last fall.

Billy: Forget it.

Mackenzie: I can’t. Billy, I was wrong.

Billy: Yeah well, what you saw was pretty incriminating.

Mackenzie: But I should have had more faith in you. All those times that you said that you couldn't remember what happened that night, I could have looked for another explanation. Particularly with Brittany involved.

Billy: Well don't beat yourself up about it.

Mackenzie: I should have realized that she pulled something.

Billy: Man, I couldn't figure it out either.

Mackenzie: I was just so hurt by the idea of you sleeping with her. Especially because of how close we were at the time. Billy, I couldn't even think straight. I know that's no excuse but --

Billy: You know what? It was a terrible time for me, too. Losing you was the worst thing that ever happened to me.

Jill: I still don't understand. Raul just got out of the hospital. Why'd you drag him all the way down here?!

Jack: The boy is fine.

Jill: I'm sure he --

Jack: Would you stop ragging on me? It was your arrival that sent him screaming for the exit.

Jill: Oh, for heaven's sake!

Sean: Hello, everyone.

Jill: What's going on?

Jack: The usual.

Sean: Do you want me to come back later --

Jill: No, please stay.

Sean: Okay, the reason I stopped by is because I would like to start having our summer campaign in a really big way.

Jill: Really what did you have in mind?

Sean: For now I think we should focus on promoting our two couples. We've already began work on it but I need your approval.

Jill: Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

Jack: I would agree, only I’m afraid it's impossible.

Sean: Why?

Jack: Only one of our two couples is still standing. Billy and Brittany broke up.

Sean: Well, that's that.

Rianna: How did it go?

Raul: Mack and Billy are exactly where we want them. Between the 11th and 12th floors of the Jabot building.

Rianna: That was quite an accomplishment.

Raul: Yeah, it was. I just hope it wasn't a mistake though.

Rianna: Why would you say that?

Raul: Mack and Billy in close quarters with no referee? What if it backfires?

Rianna: Are you afraid they might be standing there, violent, glaring at each other?

Raul: Or worse.

Sharon: Your mom gave Larry Warton a job at Jabot?

Nicholas: Yeah, it was the difference between Larry getting out of jail or going back on -- going back on probation.

Sharon: Wow, that was really great but is it necessary?

Nicholas: What do you mean?

Sharon: He could have gone back to work at Crimson Lights.

Nicholas: He could have but I didn't really think that was such a good idea.

Sharon: Why not?

Nicholas: For starters we don't need anymore help.

Sharon: Nick, does this have something to do with me?

Nicholas: Yeah, a little.

Sharon: I wouldn't have minded him working there.

Nicholas: Baby, there's no sense in having him in such close contact with us, especially since we're trying to get over everything that happened.

Sharon: Look, just because I got little upset the first time we went back to the coffee house --

Nicholas: Baby, you were more than a little upset.

Sharon: Okay, so I freaked out, but that was because I thought about Matt Clark. Larry Warton is a completely different story.

Nicholas: Well it's handled. Everything is cool.

Sharon: So now you're just going to put this on your mom's lap. Is that fair?

Nicholas: It's not like that my mom insisted on doing this. She was adamant there was not going to be a problem. Just relax, okay? Everything is cool. It's going to work out for everyone involved.

Nicholas: Larry Warton is only trying to get his life back on track and I'm trying to help him.

Ashley: Look Nikki, I have nothing against giving a person a second chance, but why in God's name here?

Brad: You know, we have warehouses --

Ashley: Yeah!

Nikki: No. No he has to stay in Genoa City. That's part of the deal.

Brad: What deal?

Nikki: This isn't just about offering him work. I am personally vouching for this man. It's because of me he was sentenced to time served and probation.

Brad: Nikki I admire your generosity but come on, don't you think it's a little dangerous having him work here?

Nikki: Perhaps, but you'll be happy to know that I have more to lose than anybody else if things don't work out.

Ashley: Well yes, I would definitely say so.

Nikki: Nevertheless, I am confident that he won't disappoint me so I will ask you again. Am I going to get any resistance on this?

Ashley: I guess not. Brad?

Brad: It's your call, Nikki.

Nikki: Thank you.

Brad: Oh!

Ashley: I wish I felt just a little more confident with this.

Brad: Unbelievable. Did you hear that? She said that when she talked about helping Warton that Nick supported the idea.

Ashley: Yeah, and that Sharon would, too.

Brad: She didn't mention old Vic.

Ashley: He doesn't know.

Brad: I wonder how he's going to take the news.

Ashley: It's not really our problem, is it?

Larry: Look, Mrs. Newman, if this isn't going to fly, why don't you just give me heads-up, that way I won't be blindsided if they try and yank my probation?

Nikki: Mr. Warton, as long as you hold up your end of the bargain, everything will work out.

Larry: Okay then. And I didn't mean to question you, it's just that, well, all of this is still pretty unreal to me.

Nikki: I understand. So, are you ready to meet with personnel?

Larry: Yeah. I, I think so. And by the way, I -- anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for all this trouble you've been through for me. I really appreciate it.

Nikki: Let's go.

Nicholas: Pretty much an unbelievable day. Do you want to go for a walk or something?

Sharon: Well don't you want to get back to work, and sort of get back in the swing of things?

Nicholas: I don't think anybody's expecting me to rush back.

Sharon: Well, maybe not, but I thought you'd be chomping at the bit. I know how much you love your work.

Nicholas: I'll be back soon enough. Hey, you want to know what I really want to do?

Sharon: What?

Nicholas: I didn't really understand. We didn't need to go away on our second honeymoon moon, just happy being here at home.

Sharon: Yeah.

Nicholas: Well the more I think about it, I think a little R & R is exactly what we do need.

Sharon: I don't know though, I don't really to want leave the kids.

Nicholas: Nah, we'll take them away with us. Look, a romantic getaway would have been cool but after everything we've been through, I think the family should all go away together.

Sharon: And that's the only reason?

Nicholas: What to go away on a family vacation?

Sharon: Well, it's just that I get the feeling that you're doing this because of me.

Nicholas: Well yeah it's for you, but it's also for the kids and for me, too.

Sharon: I think you're worried about my state of mind.

Nicholas: Baby, I’m worried with your body, too.

Sharon: Seriously, though, I'm not an invalid, it's getting to be the end of the school year, I really hate taking Cassie out of school.

Nicholas: I’ll bet a lot of money Cassie wouldn't have too much of a problem with that.

Sharon: Well she has a lot of assignments to make up, stuff that she missed while you were in jail.

Nicholas: So you don't want to go?

Sharon: I didn't say that, it's just the wrong timing.

Nicholas: Look, are you sure that you're okay?

Sharon: I'm fine. Really! I mean it! And like you said, we have everything that we need right here. I'm going to put this in the dishwasher.

Nicholas: You're right, we do have everything that we need right here, but still. Got some errands to run, be back in few!

Sharon: Okay!

Jill: What did you just say? When did this happen?

Jack: Yesterday, as best I can ascertain.

Jill: Who broke it off?

Jack: Why don't you ask your son? If he wants you to know he'll tell you.

Jill: Damn it, Jack, you have no right to keep information about my own son from me. Jack, are you sure this is a done deal? Billy and Brittany understand we have five.

Jack: I don't think Billy and Brittany will be together again any time soon.

Jill: Oh, isn't this just fabulous! Oh, I’m sure your girlfriend Phyllis will be tickled pink by this bad news. And since you moved her into your home, obviously she's privy to all this. I'm sure right now she's creating some strategy to take advantage of our weakness.

Jack: Actually, Jill, I don't think this will cause any trouble at all. Quite the contrary, in fact.

Jill: What are you thinking?

Billy: No, you're right. It's best that we don't get into a lot of what-ifs.

Mackenzie: Is that really how you feel?

Billy: What good is this gonna do? We're just going stones up reliving all the pain.

Mackenzie: Billy. The pain, is that the only thing that you remember about those days? Because I recall a lot more. Come on, tell me what's really bothering you.

Billy: Do I have to spell it out to you?

Mackenzie: Billy, listen to me. That rumor about J.T. and me, it isn't true!

Billy: Come on, Mac.

Mackenzie: I'm serious! I wouldn't lie about something like that. Nothing has changed. I'm still the same girl. You should know me well enough to realize that. It was just gossip.

Billy: Really?

Mackenzie: Really.

Jack: Look, I’ll tell you why I don't think that this break-up is a calamity.

Jill: Please do.

Jack: Well not having two happy couples actually opens things up.

Jill: And how do you figure that?

Sean: Well is this break-up so bad that Brittany doesn't even want to be around Billy? Because if we can get those two to work together, we could have a very dramatic and highly identifiable situation.

Jack: I'm not sure if that's going to be possible, Sean.

Jill: Just a minute, I'm not going to go along with this unless Billy's 100% okay with it.

Jack: So ask him.

Jill: First I'm asking you. Who did the breaking up? Because if it was Billy that's fine, but if that Brittany broke his heart I don't want her anywhere around him. Billy tends to make the wrong choices when he's feeling vulnerable.

Sean: I gather you're talking about Mackenzie here, but let's remember she won't have anything to do with Glow by Jabot House this summer. Well, I do have another idea. If we can't have Brittany what if we bring in a new girl each week? I'm sure a lot of young women out there would love to spend time with your son, Jill. Be part of the Glow by Jabot gang. What's wrong?

Jill: I don't know how Billy would feel about being sold to the highest bidder.

Sean: He'll be supervised, Jill.

Jill: Well you suppose as long as he goes along with it.

Sean: Hey, it will make for an interesting situation.

Jill: I will admit it's a really interesting and unique marketing idea.

Sean: All right, good. Tell you what, I’ll get to work on it right away.

Jack: Sean, wait a minute. Maybe Jill’s right. Maybe we need to run this by Billy first.

Jill: Whoa! You just told us this break-up was a done deal, now you're telling Sean to wait?! Exactly what aren't you telling us, Jack?

Victor: Well, if Ryan McNeil is looking for his wife, then it seems the connection between the two is still rather strong.

Victoria: Well, he's not completely uncaring. I mean, he feels a certain amount of responsibility for her. But their marriage has been over for a long time. And as a matter of fact, he ran across the separation papers this morning and he was intending to file.

Victor: Was intending.

Victoria: Well, Keith Dennison talked him out of it. Keith feels with Tricia's fragile mental condition something like this could be devastating. She would feel deserted so Ryan agreed to wait.

Victor: Mm-hmm. For how long?

Victoria: I don't know. Apparently, Tricia is so sick Keith and her doctors are talking about the possibility of having her committed.

Victor: It's a rather complicated start, isn't it? I mean, she just left the hospital, he's looking for her, she's roaming the city somewhere, right?

Victoria: Yeah, but I’m sure they'll find her soon. I mean, there are a lot of people looking for her.

Victor: But given what you just told me it seems to me that the relationship is still rather strong. I mean... aren't you doing a lot of wishful thinking?

Tricia: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get so emotional. Oh, the roast -- I have to check on it before --

Ryan: Why don't I call your dad?

Tricia: Call, call my dad? Why? Oh, you -- you want to invite him to a dinner? Yeah, I, I think that's a great idea. And you know what? We can call Meg and she can come over.

Ryan: Tricia --

Tricia: And we can have, we can have a nice, a nice family dinner. Yeah. God, Ryan, you always, you always know just what to do.

Ryan: Why don't, why don't you... freshen up and I’ll phone your father?

Tricia: Okay.

Ryan: Okay? All right.

[Phone rings]

Keith: Keith Dennison.

Ryan: Keith, it's me. I'm at the apartment. Tricia's here, too.

Keith: Thank God. Is she all right?

Ryan: Physically she seems okay but her mental state is pretty fragile.

Keith: Well what do you mean?

Ryan: She thinks we're happily married. Right now she's cooking us a roast for a family dinner! Keith, I need help! I don't know how to handle her, given what the doctor said!

Keith: All right. I'll consult with Dr. Walker and the psychiatrist, see how best to approach this. And then I’ll come over.

Ryan: Well hurry, will you? I'm at a loss here.

Keith: I'm on my way as soon as I can.

Tricia: That him?

Ryan: Yeah, he'll be here in a while.

Tricia: Good. Meanwhile, we, we have some time to ourselves. I wonder how we should spend it? Aren't you going say anything? Okay, um... I'll just come out and say it myself. I want to you make love to me, Ryan. It seems like forever since I've been in your arms. Though I know it hasn't been that long. It's just, um... It's just...

Ryan: You know what? You know what I’d like?

Tricia: Hmm?

Ryan: I'd like it if I could just hold you. Would that be okay?

Tricia: Yeah.

Ryan: Yeah. Okay.

Billy: I was so sure. I don't know why I believed it. I just, I --

Mackenzie: There's something else I want to tell you. I've been thinking a lot about that whole Clean Queen thing.

Billy: Haven't we been through all this?

Mackenzie: As bad as I felt about tricking you, I'd do it all over again.

Billy: Seriously?

Mackenzie: Billy, to find out that you still had strong feelings for me? You can't imagine how that made me feel. I could hardly breathe.

Billy: That's exactly how I felt. I just -- just seeing you sometimes... It's how I’ve always felt.
