Glen Richards: An alternative?
Nikki: Yes, so Mr. Warton won't have to stay behind bars.
Glen Richards: What exactly are you proposing, Mr. Newman?
Nikki: Nicholas, you want him released on probation, right?
Nicholas: Mr. Richards said that's not going to happen unless he has a job.
Nikki: I may find him a position.
Nicholas: Certainly not at the ranch.
Nikki: No, no. That's a little too close to home. I was thinking on -- at Jabot. I'm on the board of directors. I can offer him job security with a chance of advancement if he proves himself.
Glen Richards: I have to say you have caught me off-guard with this.
Nikki: In a good way I hope.
Glen Richards: No question. This is an extremely generous offer, Mrs. Newman. Still, knowing Warton's record, are you sure you want to do this?
Ashley: Hi.
Brad: Hi, beautiful.
Ashley: Hey, handsome.
Brad: Last night was wonderful. I keep thinking it can't get any better and then it does.
Ashley: You know what they say, the more love you give the more you get.
Brad: Careful, you might become saturated.
Keith: No, Ryan, you can't do this.
Ryan: I know it might be tough for Tricia to accept. Now you will take her to London where she can get the help she needs, I don't see a reason to wait. I'm filing for separation. I'm not unfeeling --
Keith: I realize that --
Victoria: What's going on here? Why shouldn't Ryan file?
Keith: Tricia feels attached to you.
Ryan: I know. She's coming off a huge trauma and she's clinging to me. I understand why. Keith, it's wrong to keep encouraging her. She has to accept the way things are. As far as I'm concerned the sooner the better.
Phyllis: We are so bad for each other.
Jack: Yeah?
Phyllis: Yeah. You slept in yesterday. Today's my turn. We keep this up, we're never going to get out of the house on time.
Jack: Really.
Phyllis: Yeah. Hey, what's wrong?
Jack: Before you woke up, I had a little talk with my brother, Billy.
Phyllis: Did he confirm that he and Brittany are on the outs?
Jack: As a matter of fact, he did.
Phyllis: Wow. Why?
Jack: It seems nothing actually happened the night they supposedly spent together at the pool house though Brittany had been insisting for months that something did happen.
Phyllis: That's pretty heavy stuff. So how'd the truth come out?
Jack: Well, it seems there was more than one camera in the pool house. Since you're the one that probably put it there, I have to ask why. Why would you hide an extra camera there without anyone knowing?
Raul: We're talking about our best friends, Rianna.
Rianna: They're messed up. We shouldn't push them until things cool down a little bit. Why don't we let things be and see what happens?
Raul: Mac and Billy are so close to working everything out.
Rianna: We don't know what's best anymore. So much has happened.
Raul: Before we make up our mind, let's go get one more opinion. Come here.
Brittany: Hi.
Billy: Hey.
Brittany: I hope you've calmed down a little since last night. Have you thought about some of the things I’ve said?
Billy: Yeah. I can see your point. I was partly responsible for what happened. We deceived you all summer long. I can see why you were angry. But I’m not going to forget what you did, Brittany. There are too many repercussions.
Brittany: As in you and Mac breaking up? That's all you think about, isn't it? Even though she tricked you and made a fool out of you, you're going to run back into her arms?
Billy: No, I'm not going to go back there either.
J.T.: There you are.
Mackenzie: What do you want, J.T.?
J.T.: I heard what happened.
Mackenzie: Great.
J.T.: I hope you believe me now. I didn't spread that rumor about me and you.
Mackenzie: So you weren't a complete jerk. You want a medal now?
J.T.: I messed up. I admit it, Mac. I should have told you what Brittany planned the minute I found out. I'm sorry.
Mackenzie: You should be. I really want to trust you, J.T. You keep pulling things like this.
J.T.: You have every right to be mad. I don't blame you a bit.
Mackenzie: Look, I'm not one to throw stones. We've all done things we wish we hadn't.
J.T.: So we're cool?
Mackenzie: Yeah.
J.T.: All right. I'm going to get some coffee and get outta here. See you later.
Mackenzie: Sure.
Raul: You all right, Mac?
Mackenzie: Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Go ahead.
J.T.: That's the smartest thing I saw you do.
Billy: What are you talking about, J.T.?
J.T.: You saw Mac and turned the other way. She's going to get through this just fine. I'll be there for her. You can count on that.
Gina: Victor, I am so glad you came in. I wanted to congratulate you.
Victor: You heard about my son being acquitted.
Gina: You and your family must be so relieved. Thank God justice has been done.
Victor: My son is free and Matt Clark is paying with his life.
Gina: That's fitting with that piece of trash. What about that low-life that was scheming with him?
Victor: Larry Warton? If I have my way, he will be locked up for years.
Nikki: I'm prepared to give Larry Warton a full time job at Jabot Cosmetics.
Glen Richards: You understand the risk you're taking.
Nikki: I happen to share my son's faith that Larry seriously wants a new start in life.
Glen Richards: All right. I'm going to see if I can sell this to the judge. I'm going to need John Silva in there with me.
Nicholas: You can call him right now. I'll give you his cell number.
Glen Richards: Thanks. I'll call him on the way over. I can't make any promises here. I'm going to do my best.
Nikki: That's all we ask. Thank you. Are you okay with that?
Nicholas: You sure you're okay with this?
Nikki: You think I’m having misgivings?
Nicholas: If you're not absolutely certain about this, I don't want you to do this just for me.
Nikki: I thought you said you believe in this man.
Nicholas: I do. I know Larry is no saint, but after spending time with him in jail, I saw a different side of him, something I never thought I would see.
Nikki: There's a human being inside.
Nicholas: Definitely, yes. I want this second chance for him. I didn't want you to get involved in this. What if you give him the opportunity and he screws up? We're not exactly sure what we're getting into here.
Nikki: Nicholas, are you talking yourself out of this?
Nicholas: How do you think Dad is going to feel knowing you hired Warton there?
Nikki: I'll explain the situation. He'll have to understand.
Nicholas: You sound pretty confident.
Nikki: This is a low-level job with lots of supervision. I'm not about to set him up in the executive suite. What?
Nicholas: Dad is going to blow a gasket when he hears about this.
Nikki: I can handle him.
Nicholas: You say that now.
Nikki: Nicholas, for once this has nothing to do with your father. If you can step forward and forgive this man for everything he did to you and your family, well then, I can too. I happen to be in a position to help him. I think you and I both know this is the right thing to do. We just have to hope the judge agrees. And we also have to keep in mind that this is still a very long shot.
Larry: Word gets around, slick.
John: Larry.
Larry: Mr. Silva, how'd the meeting go?
John: The D.A. agreed to reduce the charges. We tried for probation and time served. But --
Larry: But let me guess. He didn't go for it.
John: Nick and Leo and I, we tried everything. I'm afraid you're still looking at quite a few years.
Larry: So I’m going down again.
John: Larry, I wish I had better news for you. I know this is disappointing. We really, really tried. Especially Nick. I wish you could see the way he fought for you.
Larry: Yeah. Well, it surprises me how much he came through for me.
John: He's a man of his word. I wish we could have done more for you.
Larry: Well, I’ve gotten real good at not getting my hopes up. I had a lot of practice. But thank you just the same, counselor. Well, do me a favor and tell Nick I appreciate everything.
[Cell phone ringing]
John: John Silva. Yes, Glen. When? Yeah, sure. See you then. That was Richards. He wants me to meet him in Judge Jennings’ chambers right away.
Larry: How come?
John: Something about your sentence. Larry, I’m going to do everything I can to get the judge to keep it short.
Larry: Do me a favor, Mr. Silva. Don't kill yourself over this. Five, ten years, what's the difference?
Ashley: Honey, I have a perfectly lovely way to start the day.
Brad: Not exactly an early start.
Ashley: You have to have your priorities.
Brad: What time are you going to the office?
Ashley: Jack's not expecting me until later. We have budget revisions to go over.
Brad: That should be fun.
Ashley: Don't start on my brother.
Brad: Would I do that?
Ashley: Yes.
Brad: Abby has been so quiet, I almost forgot about her.
Ashley: A nice long nap.
Brad: I'm going to go up and get her.
[Phone ringing]
Ashley: Hello. Oh, no thanks. We're not interested. No really, I don't want to be rude but we're definitely not interested. You have a nice day, too. Dance school?
Brad: I got up there, she'd already fallen back asleep. Ash, what are you doing?
Ashley: Looking -- why are you looking in the Yellow Pages for dance schools?
Brad: That's a little brainstorm I had about Colleen.
J.T.: Not used to buying your own coffee are you, princess?
Brittany: Shut up, J.T. Or you'll be wearing it.
J.T.: I guess that's my answer. Lover boy still missing?
Brittany: Mac is definitely out of the picture.
J.T.: Thanks to you.
Brittany: Thanks to herself. She's knocked off her own pedestal.
J.T.: Now your attitude is everything's over.
Brittany: Billy won't go back to her. He doesn't trust her and he can't forget what she did to her.
J.T.: I can't see Mac going back to him either. I was just talking to her.
Brittany: Oh?
J.T.: She's trying to avoid Abbott.
Brittany: Good. I hope she means it for a change. If I can get those two to stay away from each other for at least two weeks, I can work my magic on Billy.
J.T.: Magic meaning sex?
Brittany: I will get him back, J.T. You just wait. It'll be like nothing bad ever happened.
Keith: Ryan, I don't disagree with you. I'm praying for the day that Tricia will be -- right now she's extremely fragile. In fact, before she came over here, I spoke to Dr. Walker about having her committed.
Ryan: Here?
Keith: Well, I’m not exactly sure she's ready to travel to another country. As much as Tricia loves England, as professional as their mental health professionals are, I think it would be too jarring right now. Well, I realize this doesn't exactly fit into your plans.
Ryan: Please give me some credit.
Keith: As you said, you have your life to live. Having Tricia nicely out of the way --
Ryan: Stop it. I did not create the situation all by myself. Just tell me, she's not getting any better? She's still having delusions?
Keith: They're getting worse.
Victoria: I'm sorry, Keith.
Ryan: What did Dr. Walker say?
Keith: He's going to talk to one of the staff psychologists about getting her full-time care. It's imperative we not exacerbate this situation. We can't push her into full-time psychosis or another suicide attempt.
Ryan: I have to pretend everything is going along.
Keith: No, just don't sign the papers.
Ryan: I need to move on with my life.
Keith: You will.
Ryan: When?
Keith: Look, I’m not asking you to stop living your life or pursuing other interests. We're talking about a formality here, a piece of paper. Can't you put it on hold until Tricia's more stable?
Ryan: I waited this long. I guess I can wait a little longer. Let's consult with the psychiatrist and get Tricia the help she needs. Despite what you may think, that is my first priority.
Keith: Thank you. That means a lot to me.
[Cell phone ringing]
Keith: Excuse me. Keith Dennison. What? When? How could this happen? All right. Thank you. Thank you for calling. I'll see what I can do. That was Dr. Walker. Tricia's left the hospital.
Ryan: They discharged her?
Keith: No. She's just disappeared.
Ashley: You lost me.
Brad: Colleen loves dance. She's in that special dance program in Paris right now.
Ashley: You mentioned that. Steve's with her, right?
Brad: Right. I've just become keenly aware there's a whole side of her family that Colleen knows virtually nothing about.
Ashley: And you want to rectify that?
Brad: I do. If I want Colleen to spend time here this summer, she would be more likely to do that if I find a dance studio she's interested in.
Ashley: What did you find out?
Brad: Nothing yet. I just got into it. Why do I get the feeling you're not too pleased about this?
Ashley: It's not that. You want to spend time with your daughter. Honey, I would never stand in your way.
Brad: I know you wouldn't. Listen, I just feel at this point in her life, this could mean a lot to Colleen and to me. I have to get to the office. I have a meeting.
Ashley: Go ahead. Francis should be here any second.
Brad: I love you.
Ashley: I love you, too. I'll see you.
Brad: Okay.
Ryan: Disappeared?
Keith: Apparently, Tricia took off without telling anyone. Dr. Walker has alerted the police. In the highly delusional state she's in, he's worried what she might do to herself.
Victoria: We should go out and find her.
Keith: Let's go.
Phyllis: I put the camera in the pool house that evening on impulse really.
Jack: Impulse.
Phyllis: It was the last day of the Glow by Jabot House I wanted to get every second we could get.
Jack: Or less. You knew what the thing recorded. So you could have spoken up a long time ago and saved a lot of people a lot of grief.
Phyllis: Jack, I'm sorry, I forgot. I wasn't there --
Jack: It was a busy time in your life. This is about the time you jumped ship to go to Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis: We weren't exactly communicating very well.
Jack: Okay. I'm going to get some orange juice. You want some?
Phyllis: No thanks.
[Doorbell sounding]
Phyllis: Hey, how are you? You look great, Raul.
Raul: Thank you.
Phyllis: You just stopped by on your way to school?
Jack: If you're looking for Billy, he already left.
Raul: Jack, we're here to see you.
Jack: What's up?
Raul: Have you talked to Billy yet?
Jack: Yeah.
Raul: He and Mac aren't speaking to each other right now.
Rianna: We wonder if there's anything we can do to facilitate things.
Jack: I appreciate your concern for my brother. If Billy and Mackenzie are to be together, it will work itself out. That's how I feel. What do you think, Phyllis?
Phyllis: I'm a sucker for the star-crossed lovers thing. Anyway, I -- in a way I sympathize.
Raul: In a way?
Phyllis: Yeah, in a way. We're forgetting about the other injured party.
Rianna: Who is that?
Phyllis: Brittany? Shouldn't we consider her feelings? Why are you looking at me like that? Don't you remember last summer how she was just strung along? She was lied to just as you were, Raul. The way Brittany dealt with her anger is lashing out and taking action. It was wrong, I agree, I know. Let's not view her as the devil incarnate.
Jack: Phyllis does make an interesting point here. You two have any thoughts on that?
Raul: I'm sorry, Phyllis. I completely disagree with you.
Phyllis: Do you?
Raul: Mm-hmm. What Mac and Billy did last summer doesn't compare to the stunt Brittany pulled. I'm sure she'll find a way to justify it. That's fine, let her. Billy is through with Brittany.
I thought she was in the hospital. Well, she hasn't been in here.
Victoria: Thanks.
Ryan: Thanks, buddy.
Phyllis: Brittany, you're not going to go after her? Billy just needs a little convincing, right? I bet I can give you some hints as for what works for him. Oh, wait, what's the point? You're still a little girl in that department.
Phyllis: You don't believe Billy will forgive Brittany once he has a chance to cool down?
Rianna: How could he?
Phyllis: They have been together for a long time.
Raul: Phyllis, not to be rude, I don't care about Brittany. I'm only concerned about Mac and Billy.
Rianna: If they had a chance, they need to talk things out before they alienate each other more than they have.
Jack: I suspect you're right Billy has feelings for Mackenzie.
Phyllis: You don't think he cares about Brittany?
Jack: I wouldn't say that. I think it was a rebound situation after what happened this summer. If I just stood by and hoped you and I would find our way back to each other, we wouldn't be where we are today. So the idea is getting the two of them to start talking again.
Rianna: Sort of having them kidnapped?
Jack: We have a party. They're the only guests. Invite them and see what happens.
Raul: They're going to split as soon as they see each other.
Phyllis: You are all such amateurs. Just put them in a situation where they can't walk away from each other.
Jack: I take it, Phyllis, you have an idea. Let's hear it.
Gina: You want a table?
Ryan: We're looking for Tricia.
Gina: Haven't seen her. Your father's here.
Victoria: We're in a rush. Can you not mention to him we were here?
Gina: Sure, whatever you say.
Ryan: Not at the coffee house. Not here. Checked out the old neighborhood. Even called Megan.
Victoria: We're running out of options.
Ryan: Matt Clark took the phone, it's at the apartment.
Ashley: Hi. May I join you?
Victor: My goodness! What a surprise. Of course.
Ashley: Thank you. You must be on top of the world about Nicholas. All of our prayers have been answered.
Victor: I am happy about Nicholas. Hopefully, Nicholas and Sharon will put it behind them as well and never look back.
Ashley: I hope so.
Victor: It's very nice to see you. How are you?
Ashley: It's nice to see you. I'm fine.
Victor: You look down.
Ashley: Not really down.
Victor: You know you can tell me anything if something is bothering you.
Ashley: I am struggling with a situation, and I’m kind of confused by my reaction.
Victor: What are you confused about?
Ashley: My sister Traci was in town briefly.
Victor: Wait a minute. She was once married to your husband.
Ashley: They have a daughter together. Her name is Colleen. She's going to be 14.
Victor: Was she with her mother?
Ashley: No. Brad decided to take a secondary role in her life. Now suddenly he wants to reach out to her.
Victor: That doesn't sit well with you, does it?
Ashley: It sounds terrible. It's just a really complicated situation.
Victor: Two sisters married to the same man, each with a child.
Ashley: Traci and her family have been removed from our lives and until she trooped in, I hadn't seen her for a long time.
Victor: I have a feeling you would like it to stay that way.
Ashley: I sound horrible.
Victor: It's natural. What are you going to do?
Raul: Mac, you're here. Get your stuff together. Let's go. I talked to Sean from Jabot and he wants to pick your brain about last summer.
Mackenzie: I don't know, Raul.
Raul: He wants to meet up once. It won't take long.
Mackenzie: I'll go over later.
Raul: Why not now?
Mackenzie: Because I don't want to.
Raul: How come? No, let's get it over with.
Mackenzie: Fine. Wait. Is Billy going to be there?
Raul: No. Just us techies.
Mackenzie: Fine.
[Cell phone ringing]
Billy: Hello.
Jack: Billy. Glad I caught you. I have a favor to ask.
John: You up for some news, Larry?
Larry: It depends how bad it is.
John: Things went quite a bit differently than I would have expected.
Larry: Oh, yeah? And how's that?
John: Well, let me put it this way. What do you feel like having for dinner tonight?
Larry: Like I really have a choice.
Nikki: You do, Mr. Warton.
Larry: What?
Nicholas: You're going to be a free man, Larry.
Larry: No way.
John: We still have to go before the judge. It's all been hammered out. Your sentence is time served plus the maximum probationary period allowed by law.
Larry: You're not kidding me. How? I mean, how'd you do it?
John: Suffice it to say, your luck has changed, Larry. Now it's going to be up to you to keep it there.
Nicholas: Come on, Warton. Don't want to keep the judge waiting.
Larry: Hang on a minute. I thought you'd like to have this back.
Nicholas: You know, I think you should keep it.
Larry: Really? Thanks a lot. Thank you.
Ashley: I guess what concerns me about all of this is timing.
Victor: How so?
Ashley: Well, Brad and I are married. We have a child, and we're happy. I just don't understand why he wants to reconnect with his past right now.
Victor: I understand why that would make you uneasy. I also understand Brad for wanting to be in contact with his own child, you know? It must be very difficult to be denied of seeing your own flesh and blood.
Ashley: I've bent your ear enough. I have to get to the office.
Victor: Wait a minute. You haven't even eaten yet.
Ashley: I'm not very hungry.
Victor: Ashley. Don't be a stranger, all right?
Ashley: Okay.
Tricia: Honey, I'm so glad you're home early. I'm making the most wonderful dinner for us.
Ryan: Tricia.
Mackenzie: Raul, you were in such a rush to get me over here and now we're standing here doing nothing.
Raul: Sean said he would meet us.
Mackenzie: In the lobby? That's stupid. I have to study. I can't waste any more time. Tell Sean I’m sorry.
Raul: Mac, you're already here. You can hold up on your studying for a couple more minutes.
Mackenzie: Raul, I already wasted half my morning.
Raul: You're right. I forgot something. I'll be right back.
Mackenzie: Raul! Raul said you weren't coming to the meeting with Sean.
Billy: I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm here to see Jack.
Mackenzie: Oh, fine.
Billy: Right.
Mackenzie: What's going on?
Billy: I don't know. The elevator's stuck.
