Bo: So far, we got two dead bodies, a woman in her 30s, 31-week fetus.  Less decomp on the fetus, which means it was probably expelled from her body postmortem.

John: Cause of death, strangulation of the mother before going into Llantano lake.

Bo: No prints, no unidentified D.N.A. all that time in the water destroyed any trace the killer may have left behind.  Oh.  I've got guys canvassing the lake area right now.  Maybe if we're lucky, they'll turn up a witness.

John: Bo, lately, if we didn't have bad luck, we wouldn't have any lucky at all.

Bo: Yeah, but the D.N.A. results on the victim will probably be in soon.  If we can ID her, at least we'll have a place to start.

John: Unless C.S.U. doesn't find something in trace, we got nothing.

Bo: Oh.

John: You didn't mention to Manning the girl was strangled.

Bo: No.  Oldest trick in the book -- hold something back from the press, weed out the crackpots, and keep the killer off balance.

Blair: Are you sure you're not sick?

Todd: Yeah, just hungry.  I haven't eaten much today.

Blair: You know what?  I'm going to call a doctor tomorrow and make an appointment for a physical, just to check it all out.

Todd: Relax, relax, relax.  It's nothing a big slab of steak can't cure.

Blair: So who was on the phone?

Todd: Oh, my sister.

Blair: Viki?

Todd: Mm-hmm.

Blair: No.  She was over there talking to Dorian before -- while you were on the phone, my friend.

Todd: No, she'd already left.  She was calling me from a car.

Blair: Ok, what'd she want?

Todd: She's starting in on me about Jessica and what I know.  And it's really getting to me, lying to Viki about Jessica's split personality.  I really hate keeping secrets from people I love.

Nash: That's my Tess, all right, a free spirit.  Where is my little free spirit?  Last thing she needs right now is to run into her ex.

[Knock on door]

Antonio: Jessica?  Jessica, are you in there?

Jessica: Thank God.  Thank God I was able to stop Tess.  Oh, this could be our baby, but if it's -- I can't lose another baby.  If it's mine and Antonio's, I can't lose it.  I got to get out of here.  I got to get out of here.

Kevin: Kelly, I know how much you were looking forward to this surgery.

Kelly: I was looking forward to finally having a child of my own.

Kevin: Well, Spencer just postponed it, right?  It's not like he called the whole thing off.

Kelly: Oh, come on, Kevin, stop.

Kevin: I understand how disappointed you must be.  I --

Kelly: You've been against this surgery from the very beginning.  You've made no secret of that.

Kevin: Well, I just didn't want you to risk your life.  I wasn't willing to lose you.

Kelly: Then you should trust me, because this is the right thing for both of us, for you and for me.

Kevin: Well, what if it's not?  I mean, what if it's a sign, huh?  Telling us to try something else?

Kelly: Like what?  Adoption?  I don't think that's going to work after what happened with ace.

Kevin: So we don't have a child.  All right?  We don't need one.  You're enough for me.  Am I not enough for you?

Kelly: Of course you are.  It's -- I just feel like if there's a chance, then we have to try, we have to find out.

Kevin: Is there nothing I can do to stop you?

Kelly: Is that what this is about?  Did you get Spencer to call off the operation?  I mean, did you put him up to it?

Spencer: What's going on?

Paige: Look for yourself.

Spencer: Yeah, I'd donate, but I recently gave blood to Todd Manning.

Spencer: My, we are in a particularly good mood today, aren't we?

Paige: Was.  Oh, could you put the screens between the chairs?  Hey.

Spencer: Is there anything I've done to deserve such hostility from you?

Paige: Do you really need to ask after you forced me to get Bo to go to David's bachelor party?

Spencer: Forced you?  Yeah, I put a gun to your head, didn't I?

Paige: Well, you may as well have.

Spencer: Now, why is that?  I would have spilled all of your deepest, darkest secrets to your cop boyfriend, right?

Paige: You know, I really hope that one day you know what it feels like to have someone holding something over your head.

Spencer: You waltz in here and admit breaking into my hotel room and downloading my personal, private computer files?

Dorian: I want you to cancel that procedure on Kelly, or else I'm going to the Buchanan’s with this disc and you can just try explaining it to them.

Spencer: Well, even if someone did, unlike you, I know how to fight back.

Dorian: David, what's going on?

David: Can I get another one of these over here?

Dorian: You need that much fortification?  Honey, come on, what on earth could be so bad?

Spencer: You need to keep your bitch soon-to-be wife out of my business.

Dorian: Darling?  Please, you're scaring me.  Just come on out and say it.

David: Spencer told me that you plan on telling the Buchanan’s that he has files on them unless he cancels Kelly's surgery.

Dorian: All true.  Now you can tell me how proud you are of me.

David: Well, it's finally happened, huh?  You've lost your tentative grasp of reality.

Dorian: We're talking about somebody I love very much here.  What else am I supposed to do?

David: Back off, let Spencer do the surgery.

Blair: You know, Todd, if this secret is upsetting you so much, you should just tell Viki.

Todd: Some things should be left dead and buried.

Blair: Well, it's going to come out eventually.  Things like this always do.

Todd: Oh -- I'm going to call the office.  I just thought of something.

Blair: Wait, you haven't touched your steak, Todd.

Todd: It's a deadline thing.

Blair: Hey --

Todd: I'll be back in a minute.

Blair: We had a deal here, buddy.

Todd: I know, no business.  It'll just take a minute.  I'll be right back.  Hey, Denton, it's me.  I need you to go down to the police station and find out everything you can about two floaters who turned up in Llantano lake.  No, I don't know if we're going to do a story on it.  I just -- I just need to know what the cops dug up.

Bo: All right, let me know when you get the list of names.  The rangers have been asking around the lake for any information from people that may have seen something suspicious.

John: Good.

[Knock on door]

Bo: Yeah.

John: D.N.A. report on the vic?

Officer: We're already running it through the systems for matches.

Bo: All right, great, thank you.

John: You know, if her D.N.A. isn't already in the national database, these results won't mean squat.

Bo: The splinters in her hand.

John: Could have come from anywhere.

Bo: Feel like taking a ride?

John: Where to?

Bo: Back to the crime scene.

Duke: You here to give blood?

Adriana: Hi.  Yeah.  You, too?

Duke: Yeah.  I saw it in the paper this morning, figured I'd, you know, do what I could.

Adriana: Me, too.

Duke: So, what you doing after this?  Maybe we could grab a bite.

Adriana: Sure.  Oh -- I have a fitting for my maid-of-honor dress.

Duke: And I have a meeting.  Dinner?

Adriana: With Carlotta.  Sorry.

Duke: At least we're trying.

Adriana: I want to keep trying.  I'm glad we got all that other stuff out of the way.

Duke: Uh, you know, there's more stuff.

Adriana: What stuff?

Duke: My dad said you told him something, that your mom knows someone who's out to get my family?

Adriana: I tried to tell you first, but you wouldn't listen.

Duke: I'm listening now.  Any idea who's gunning for us?

Adriana: My mom wouldn't give it up.

Duke: You think maybe it might be Spencer Truman?

Paige: Just so you know, I can give as good as I get.  If it's a fight you want, you got it.  But I'm not doing your dirty work anymore.

Spencer: Ok.  But you know what happens next.

Paige: What?  You tell Bo everything?  I don't think so.  You do that, you lose your advantage over me.

Spencer: Oh, Paige, you have so much more to lose than I do -- your boyfriend, your profession, your freedom.

Paige: You know, Spencer, your talents are really lost here.  Why don't you go back to the hospital.

Spencer: Actually, I think I'll stick around for a while.

Todd: Why else would I be interested in a pair of stiffs, Denton?  I want to scoop the rest of the rags, so stop asking questions and find out what the police aren't saying.  Yes, there's going to be a bonus in it for you, so go do your damage. Where's the food?

Blair: I packed it up to go since you weren't eating, and I think we need to head over to the Love Center.  Since I am running this blood drive, I think I'll check it out.  Actually, I'm going to grab David and have him go with me.

Todd: Looks like his plate's full.  Let's go.

Dorian: How can you just keep eating like that?

David: It's a restaurant.  I'm hungry.

Dorian: We'll, I've lost my appetite.

David: Oh, well, in that case, can I have some of this?  Ow!  What was that for?

Dorian: Really?  How dare you!  You're telling me to back off of Spencer and allow him to go forward with this operation on Kelly?

David: It's not going to kill her.

Dorian: I am the doctor.  I am the one who knows the risks and the dangers that are involved.  And I'm scared.  I can't bear the thought of losing her.

David: Well, you think I want that?  You know, Kelly is not half as worried about this as you are, and it's her life.

Dorian: Even Jevin thinks it's a bad idea, and we know the Buchanan’s.  Any chance they can get to sow their seed --

David: I'm eating here.

Dorian: I can't stand it.  Kelly having a child with that selfish, soulless egomaniac --

David: Hmm, ok.  So there's the rub.  See, if it was Prince William's baby -- or even Harry's -- you wouldn't have half as much problem with this, would you?

Dorian: I think it's really inappropriate for you to be flippant about this.  We're talking about someone I dearly love.

David: I asked you to leave Spencer alone, and what did you do?  You stole his card key, you hacked into his computer.

Dorian: No, I didn't.

David: I'm not saying it's a bad thing.

Dorian: Well, then, you can thank me, because now we have something we can use against Spencer.

David: Look, if you want Kelly to cancel this surgery, you're going to have to find a different way to do it. I can't let you blackmail my brother.

Dorian: I don't understand.  You detest him.  Now, where is all this brotherly love coming from all of a sudden?

Antonio: Jess, are you in there?

Nash: I'm looking for a Todd Manning.

Antonio: Sorry, man, I don't work here.

Nash: Ah, that doesn't mean you don't know the man who does.  Look, it's not about the paper.  It's personal, all right?

Antonio: You got a beef with Manning?

Nash: Yeah.  He went after someone I care about.  I want to make sure he stays the hell away.

Antonio: Good.  Then get in line.

Nash: Let's see what this guy is about.

Antonio: Is anybody here?  Jess, I need to know you're all right.

Antonio: Tess.

Tina: What are you doing on your feet, Tess?

Jessica: No, I --

Tina: You don't feel well?  Sometimes the sedative has that effect.

Jessica: Please, no.

Tina: Just lie back down.  Trust me, you will feel better.  You'll be out in a few minutes, and then the doctor will do the procedure.

Jessica: No --

Tina: No, it's ok.  You don't have to be scared.  It'll all be over soon.

Jessica: You don't understand.

Kevin: You really think I'd go behind your back like that to Spencer?

Kelly: Well, you've been against the surgery since the very beginning.

Kevin: Yeah, and I have so much pull with Dr. Truman.

Kelly: Just tell me the truth.  Swear to me you didn't have anything to do with it.

Kevin: Of course I swear to you, on your life and mine.  Tell me you believe me.

Kelly: I'm sorry.  Yes, I believe you.  It's just -- it's so weird that he would postpone the surgery like this.

Kevin: Well, did he say why?

Kelly: He said he needed a special instrument that hadn't come in yet.  I don't know.

Kevin: Well, why would he lie?

Kelly: That's a good question.  Let's go to Capricorn.  Come on.

Kevin: Honey, you just came from there.

Kelly: I know, but there's someone I want to talk to, and I think that she's probably still there.  Let's go.

Kevin: Oh, listen, Kelly, we're going to work this out, all right?  One way or another.  The important thing is we're going to end up together.  Right?

Kelly: Mm-hmm.  I want that, too.

Kevin: Come here.

Adriana: Dr. Truman just moved here.  I mean, what, has your family already managed to piss him off?  All right, seriously, why would you even think that he'd be up to something?

Duke: All right, he came by the mansion the other day.  It was really, really strange.  I mean, it was like he was sizing us up.  I thought, you know, it probably had something to do with my dad and Kelly, but now, I don't know, I'm wondering if --

Adriana: No, I think you were right the first time, and Kelly's great.  I'm sure Spencer just wants her back.

Duke: See, I think it's something more.

Blair: Hey, Spencer.

Spencer: Blair, nice to see you.  Todd.

Todd: Uh --

Blair: I don't know.  I didn't know that you were going to be here.  I didn't see your name on the sign-up list.

Spencer: Ah, Dr. Miller asked me to help out.  How could I refuse such a worthy cause?

Blair: Oh, great.  And you know what, we're honored to have such a big-deal surgeon here taking blood.  It's great.  Thank you.

Spencer: It certainly not a big deal.  Glad to do it.

Blair: Good.

Spencer: But Todd, he can't donate, no.

Todd: Why?  Is my blood contaminated?

[Spencer laughs]

Blair: Todd.

Spencer: No, it's true.  Actually, if you've had a transfusion recently, you can't give blood.  So how are you feeling since the accident?

Todd: Never better.

Blair: Since Margaret's gone, actually.  Guess it's my turn, since name's on the poster, so I --

Spencer: Yeah, got a couple of forms to fill out over there, so have at it.

Blair: Great, ok.

Todd: Have fun.

Blair: Mm-hmm.

Todd: So, yeah, I thought you and I had an agreement about my accident.

Spencer: Oh -- yeah, well, look, if you want to lie to Blair about this Margaret person stabbing you, it's your business.  You know, but it does raise the question, is there anything else you're hiding from Blair about Margaret Cochran?

Denton: So, what's up with these stiffs in the lake?  They got a make on them yet?

Officer: You're one of Manning's flunkies from "The Sun," aren't you?  Get back in line with the rest of the leeches.

Denton: "Leeches"?

Bo: I want you to call down to the lab, tell them we have a blood sample, we need it analyzed, and it's top priority.

John: Want to do the honors?  How did C.S.U. miss that?

Bo: Well, it wasn't near where we recovered the bodies.  Let's just hope there's enough usable D.N.A. there to point the finger at the killer.  Otherwise, we've reached another dead end.

Doctor: Hello, Tess.  I'm Dr. Wallinsky.  I'll be performing your procedure.  Try to relax.  You should be asleep any second now.  You won't feel a thing.  It'll be over before you know it.

Jessica: No --

Dr. Wallinsky: We'd better up the sedative.

Jessica: No, don't.

Dr. Wallinsky: Don't what?

Jessica: My baby.

Tina: I'm sorry, Tess.  We can't understand you.

Jessica: I want -- I want to keep my baby.

Antonio: Damn you, Tess.  Damn you for doing this to me!

Nash: Ooh, mm-hmm-hmm.  What did Tess do to you?

David: Nothing has changed.  Spencer is still the person I would most like to see hit by a speeding locomotive.

Dorian: Then why are you telling me to back off him?

David: Because I don't want you to be part of the train wreck.  He is my brother.  Leave him to me.

Dorian: But, David --

David: There's no buts here, ok?  I'm the one who wears the pants in this family -- from time to time.  Don't make me get neanderthal on you.

Dorian: Oh, I --

Kelly: Good, you're still here.

David: Ahem.

Dorian: Yes, and you're back so soon.  I'm afraid Spencer never showed.

Kelly: Yeah, it's amazing, he postponed our surgery.

Dorian: Oh, really?  And why would he do that?

Kelly: I don't know, some excuse about needing a certain instrument?

Dorian: Yes, that does happen.

Kelly: Yeah, but not in this case, right?

Dorian: How would I know?

Kelly: I don't know, are you behind it?

Dorian: Of course I'm not.  If I were behind it, trust me, the surgery would've been canceled.

Kelly: Well, all right, it's just --

David: Ahem.

Kelly: I'm so disappointed.  I mean, I've been wanting this for so long and I'm so close and -- I guess I shouldn't run around accusing everyone I see. I'm sorry.

David: Hey, you got nothing to be sorry about.

Kevin: Ok, now that that's settled, Dorian, I need to talk to you about something Adriana said.

Paige: So who's up first?

Adriana: I've never done this before.

Duke: I'll go.

Paige: Great.  This way.

Paige: Duke, you just sit right here.

Duke: Ok.

Paige: Make a fist for me.  Adriana, you can go back there.

Duke: I know the drill.

Paige: All right.

Paige: You ready?

Duke: Let's do it.

Paige: All right.

Paige: How you doing?

Duke: Didn't feel a thing.  She's good.  You know, I've been meaning to congratulate you on moving in with my uncle Bo.

Paige: Well, thanks.

Duke: Mm-hmm.  You -- you used to be married to Dr. Truman, didn't you?

Paige: That was a very long time ago.

Duke: Did he know my family back then?

Paige: Why?

Duke: Oh, I -- I'm just wondering, you know.  Did he ever mention us?

Paige: Not that I can remember.

Duke: So he might have?

Paige: What are you getting at?

Duke: All right, honestly, I'm trying to figure out if he's ever had a grudge against us Buchanan’s.  It's just a vibe I've been picking up.

Paige: Well, I'm sorry I can't help, but if he does have a grudge, be careful.  Spencer's not the kind of man that just lets things go.

Bo: Take this down to the lab, have them test it.

John: There's blood on one end.  Have them run a match with the D.N.A. on the Jane Doe.

Bo: We also want to see if the splinters in her hand match that piece of wood.

Officer: What's up?

Second officer: Commissioner found a branch on the scene.  Might be connected to the bodies in the lake.

Bo: This is commissioner Buchanan.  I want a car sent up to Llantano lake, and have them radio in after they get up there.  There's an area that's east of lakeside.  It's -- it's a clearing just off a nature trail.  I want them to go over that with a fine-tooth comb.  Thank you.

John: I wonder whose blood it is, the victim's or the killer's.

Bo: I think we just caught a break.

Duke: So you don't know anything about Dr. Truman and my family?

Paige: Relentless, aren't you?

Duke: Yeah, like my uncle Bo.

Paige: Listen, I really wish I could help, but I just can't.

Adriana: Ok, I think I'm ready now.

Paige: You know, I have something I have to take care of, so why don't I just send a nurse over?

Adriana: Ok.

Duke: I wasn't too smooth, was I?

Adriana: No.  I'd be doing the same thing if someone was after my family.  I'd just maybe be a little more subtle.

Duke: Are you sure you've told me everything you know?

Adriana: Would I lie to you?  It happened once, ok?  I've already apologized for kissing Rex, like, 20 times.  How long are you going to keep throwing it in my face?

Duke: You're right, I -- I don't have any room to talk.  I've been keeping something from you, too.

Blair: Are you ok?

Todd: Yeah, why wouldn't I be?

Blair: Well, you look pale.

Spencer: You know, some people get a little squeamish at the sight of blood.  Maybe Todd's one of them.

Todd: I just need something to drink.

Spencer: A little juice and water over there.

Todd: Yeah, Denton, what the hell's taking you so long?

Denton: I, uh -- I can't talk now.

Todd: Well, then get down to the love center.  I need to know what's going on with those bodies.

John: I'm tempted to go down to that lab and run the D.N.A. myself.

Bo: If it's related to the case, we'll know soon enough.

John: Yeah.  Well, if it's not, I'm going to go back up to that lake and I'm going to breathe down C.S.U.'s neck until they find something.  This guy had to leave something behind.

Bo: You know, John, I hate waiting as much as you do, but right now you're not making it any easier.

John: Yeah, I know you -- you got a lot on your mind.  How's Nora?

Bo: If there was any change, I'd let you know.

John: How's Matthew handling it?

Bo: About as well as he can.  Boy, he's been through a hell of a lot for a kid his age.  Breaks my heart to see him standing there and he's talking to his mom like she can really hear him, and I want to tell him that things are going to work out, but I end up standing there talking to her right alongside him.

John: You're going to get him through it.  No matter what happens, you're a good father, Bo.

Bo: Hey, thanks.  How's Natalie doing?  I've been so busy, I haven't called her.

John: She's good.

Bo: You know, she's another one that's really been through a heck of a lot.  I don't want to see her get hurt again.

John: Well, I don't want to hurt her.

Bo: Oh, I know, I know.  It's just what I'm saying is that, I mean, she's really been jerked around.  This guy, this John Doe that pretended that he was Cristian, you know?  He really almost brought her down.  And I know -- and she cares for you, you care for her.  I just -- I want you to try not to -- how would you put it?  -- Make any of those same old mistakes again, you know?  She deserves the best you have to offer.

John: Trust me, Bo, everything I've done I've done because I want what's best for Natalie, even if she doesn't always understand that.

Antonio: Who are you?

Nash: Who am I?  I am Nash Brennan.  I know who you are.  You're Antonio Vega, but we've met before.  Llanview, Pennsylvania, Todd Manning's office.

Antonio: Yes, I remember.

Nash: Mm-hmm.

Antonio: You said Manning was after your girlfriend.

Nash: I didn't know back then that he was her uncle.  I thought he was just another ex, just like you.

Antonio: Is that what Tess told you, that I'm her ex?

Nash: I don't give a damn if you are or you aren't.  Just leave her the hell alone.

Antonio: I can't do that.

Nash: You can't do that?  Pathetic, but honest.  See, she's with me now.  She doesn't want you anymore.

Antonio: Right.  You don't understand.

Nash: I don't understand?  I understand that I don't like you breaking into my place, that I don't like you hunting after my girl.

Antonio: I want to see her.

Antonio: Is that what you think I'm doing?

Nash: Yes.  That is what I think you're doing.  And if you hurt her again --

Nash: Yeah, you hurt her.

Nash: I'm in love with her.  She's in love with me.  But if you lay one hand on her again --

Antonio: She doesn't exist.  There is no Tess.

Tina: Tess?  Tess?  What are you trying to tell us?

Jessica: I -- I don't want this.

Tina: What, honey?  You don't want the procedure?  You want to keep the baby?

Jessica: I want -- I want my -- my baby.

Dr. Wallinsky: You'd better talk to her.

Tina: I just want to be sure about this.  You don't want us to terminate the pregnancy?

Jessica: I'll just go.

Tina: No, you need to lie back down.

Jessica: You won't?

Tina: No, no, no.  We won't do anything you don't want us to.  You just rest.  Ok?  Let the sedative wear off.  I'll check back in with you in a little while.  It's ok.  You just rest.  We won't do anything you don't want us to.

Tess' voice: You idiot!  That wasn't your decision to make!  Now, get that doctor back in here so we can get this thing over with! 

Kevin: Why would Adriana make something like that up?

Dorian: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Kevin: You know somebody is trying to make trouble for my family.  Just tell me who it is.

Dorian: All right, I will.  It's me.  I have been patiently plotting the demise of your family for years.

Kevin: And I'm sure you will for years to come, but that's not who Adriana meant.

Dorian: Then she misunderstood.

Kevin: Ok.  Go ahead.  That's the way you're going to play?  Fine, but I will find out, and if you are involved, you will find yourself in the crossfire.

Paige: I thought you'd be here.

David: I'm anesth-- I'm anest-- I'm aneth-- I'm making myself feel better with long island iced tea.  Do you know how many different kinds of booze are in this?  You know what it tastes like?

Paige: David, David.  Have you made any progress with Spencer?

David: No, I talked to him, but I couldn't get much out of him.  But I did find this out -- the plan he has against the Buchanan’s?  A little more global than I thought.  It's not just Bo-specific.

Bo: Why don't you call it a day, John?

John: It's the middle of the afternoon.

Bo: Yeah, but you've already put in a long one, it's barely the afternoon, and, you know what, I'll call you if anything turns up on the case.

John: Yeah?  All right, boss.  I'll see you later.

Bo: Yeah, thanks.

Officer: Trace got the results on the blood on the wood, sir.

Bo: Great.  Thank you.

Bo: The blood did not belong to the victim.  Maybe it was the killer's.  O-negative.

Todd: Talk to me.

Denton: Bo Buchanan and John Mc Bain went out to the crime scene.  They found a piece of wood with blood smatterings all over it.  They're running tests on it now.

Todd: What kind of wood?

Denton: It's hard to say.  It was wrapped in plastic about yay big.

Todd: Mm-hmm.

Spencer: You might have to find something green to match this bandage to wear with.

Blair: I think I will, definitely.

Spencer: All right.

Blair: Look, I think this bandage is a little much.

Spencer: It's just, you know, I don't want you bleeding out on me now, right?

Blair: Well, come on.  Well, thank you for taking such good care of me.

Spencer: Anytime.

Adriana: So you've been lying to me about something?

Duke: I kissed someone else, too.

Tess' voice: Do it, Jessica.  Call the doctor.

Jessica: Tess, leave me alone.

Tess' voice: So you can go ahead and have this little brat?  No way.

Jessica: You can't stop me.

Tess' voice: Want to bet?  Go to sleep.  Let me handle it.

Jessica: No, I won't let you.

Tess' voice: Just try and stop me.

Jessica: Antonio.  I have to get to Antonio.

Antonio: This Tess that you think you know --

Officer: Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.  You have the right to an attorney.  If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you by the state.
