Nora: So you didn't find anything, then? Well, that's good news, right? Well, of course I want to know why I'm not feeling right, but we have been able to rule out the biggies, haven't we? Ok. Well -- yeah. You know what? I'll -- thank you. I'll be in touch. I heard a commotion out there. Did I miss something, like something from Llantano mountain?
Hugh: A piece of Natalie's clothing was found. John and Bo think they're close.
Nora: Wow, ok. Well, what do you think?
Hugh: I wouldn't put it past Hayes to have set up a decoy. He's done it before.
Nora: I'm beginning to wonder what Hayes and his sidekick nick didn't think of before they started this insanity. Hi.
Evangeline: They didn't think of me.
Marcie: Hello, Nick.
Viki: Oh, dear lord, thank you. Thank you for bringing Jessica home safely. And please, please bring Natalie home, too. Please.
Rex: All right, we've got her?
Bo: It's hard enough to hear without you yakking, Balsom.
Rex: All right, we've got Natalie? Is that what you're saying?
Bo: Back off! Back off! All right, there's too much noise here. You're going to have to say again, all right? Speak clearly. Do you have a visual?
Rex: All right, they can see her? Can they see Natalie?
Bo: Shut up! I missed it. Say again.
Rex: No!
John: Natalie, can you hear me? Natalie? Can you hear me? It's John. Natalie? What took you guys so long?
Man: You radioed less than five minutes ago, lieutenant. What's the situation here?
John: She's down there.
Man: You saw her?
John: It caved in. She's at the bottom of the hole, then the whole thing just caved in. We got to get her out. She's buried. We got to get her out right now. Get some gear! Natalie!
Nora: So you went under hypnosis?
Evangeline: It was the only thing I could think of to help me remember. And I did, Nora.
Nora: So Bo and John are following your lead?
Evangeline: Yeah.
Hugh: That couldn't have been easy, reliving all that.
Evangeline: It wasn't. But sitting back, waiting for Natalie to be found? It -- it wasn't good enough anymore. We went through this together, so I wanted -- I mean, I needed to help. And when they find her, I want to be there.
[Pager beeps]
Hugh: Excuse me. I'll be right back.
Nora: Mm-hmm. Gosh. It just begs the question, how can anyone be so selfless?
Evangeline: What are you talking about?
Nora: I know you're a kind and generous and caring person, and I love you dearly.
Evangeline: But?
Nora: Hypnosis is no small thing. I know you want to find Natalie. So do I. But everything you've gone through with John, that had to be so painful.
Evangeline: Yeah. Yeah. We're going to help find Natalie. Seeing John worrying for her, it's -- it kills, Nora. It tears me up inside, but what can I do, you know? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't do everything I possibly could to help find her. I have to do this. I -- it's not for John. It's for me.
Nick: You shouldn't be here.
Marcie: Why not?
Nick: You just shouldn't be here, that's all.
Marcie: What's the matter, Nick? Afraid I suddenly woke up this morning and turned into a homicidal maniac? Oh, wait a minute. Murder was only fiction for me. I never turned it into reality the way you did, did I?
Nick: It wasn't like that. Things happened. I got caught up.
Marcie: Do you have any idea how pathetic that sounds?
Nick: Well, it's the truth. I mean, you don't know what it was like, how things happened, what it was like dealing with Hayes. I mean, I just --
Marcie: What? You just what, Nick? You just went along for the ride. That's what you did, Nick. You are a coward.
Nick: What do you want from me? You know, I almost died myself. Now I'm going to prison for, I mean, God knows how long. What do you want me to do?
Marcie: I want you to tell me why.
Viki: Dorian. Hello.
Dorian: Hello, Viki.
Viki: Why -- why are you here?
Dorian: I wanted to check on how you were doing. I wasn't sure if Kevin would be able to be here for you and I didn't know if Jessica was back from wherever she went to and --
Viki: She's --
Dorian: Well, I see that you're covered, so I'll just be going.
Viki: Oh, no, no, don't go. No. It was really nice of you to come by. Please, stay. Please.
Dorian: Why, thank you. I would love to.
Viki: Sit down.
Dorian: I've -- I'm at a loss for words. I cannot possibly imagine what you must be going through, and I don't know what I have to offer.
Viki: Well, you've offered a great deal just by coming here.
Dorian: Thank you.
Kelly: Dorian?
Dorian: Kelly, you needn't sound so surprised. I mean, if there was ever a time to show some compassion --
Kelly: Is there any news?
Viki: Yes, as a matter of fact, there is. John and Bo are up on Llantano mountain. They're following up on a lead they got from Evangeline, and Bo said he would call me as soon as -- well, as soon as they know anything.
Kelly: Jessica. Hey! Welcome back.
Jessica: Thanks. It's really wonderful to be home.
Kevin: Mom, any word?
Man: I want these bars cut off ASAP. And get these lights on.
Second man: You got it, chief.
John: Natalie!
Man: Lieutenant, you need to step back from there. The ground's unstable.
John: Natalie!
Man: If we're going to save her, we need to do this right.
John: Natalie!
Man: Lieutenant! Give me your radio.
John: Natalie! Natalie, can you hear me?
Bo: What's going on?
Man: We're good to go, commissioner, but Mc Bain's in our way.
Rex: Mc Bain!
Bo: No, shh. I'll take care of this, Balsom. You stay here. Here. John?
John: She's down there, Bo.
Bo: John, look at me. Look at me. There's no way you can get her out of there. That's why we have E.S.U. here. They know what to do and how to do it. The best thing that we can do right now is we get out of their way.
John: I saw her. I saw her.
Bo: All right. Come on, let's let these guys do their jobs.
Man: Ready for the ropes.
Bo: Come on.
Man: You're good right there.
Bo: Let's go.
John: I tried, Bo. I tried to get her out of there. Then the wall just caved in. There was more and more dirt.
Man: Get those braces set. I want this entire area stabilized.
Bo: The team is on it.
John: I saw her. I saw Natalie.
Evangeline: Oh, Nora, I just want this whole thing to be over. I just want them to find Natalie.
Nora: And then what?
Evangeline: And then I'm getting on with my life.
Nora: Without John?
Evangeline: John and I broke up before this whole nightmare even started, and once this nightmare is over and once Natalie is home safe, I am out of it. No, Natalie and John clearly have their own things to work out.
Nora: What if they don't find Natalie? Or they do find her and she's --
Evangeline: I can't -- I can't even go there.
Nora: Honey, I'm so sorry. There's just no good way to handle this, is there, or no right way to feel?
Evangeline: I tell you, Nora, ever since Natalie and I were locked in that basement together, I'm too numb to think.
Hugh: Officer Rodriguez just told me they found Natalie.
Nora: What?
Evangeline: Is she all right?
Hugh: Apparently, there was a cave-in at the site where they found her, but --
Evangeline: Oh, my God.
Hugh: John Mc Bain was the only one who saw her.
Nora: Evangeline? Evan-- oh --
Hugh: Are you all right?
Nora: Fine. I'm fine, I'm fine.
Hugh: Nora?
Nora: I'm fine. Would you -- please, Hugh. I'm fine, ok? Let's just -- you know, I don't want to talk about doctors or anything. I'm just sick to death of tests and scans and blood work and everything.
Hugh: They haven't found anything?
Nora: No, but they did rule out a lot of things, so let's just not make a big issue out of this, ok, please? And we're not going to discuss it with anybody. No one's going to know that I had another one of these little -- whatever they are, ok?
Hugh: Ok.
Nora: Please?
Hugh: Ok.
Nora: Thank you. See? I feel much better already. Ok, well, I had an interesting call earlier about our suspect number two -- Nick Messina.
Hugh: What about him?
Nora: Take a look at this.
Marcie: Answer me. Nick, I want to know why you did it. You know, you had your whole world -- you had your whole world just laid out for you, right in front of you, Nick.
Nick: The whole world? Me?
Marcie: Yes. Yes, maybe you weren't the smartest kid in the world, but you were a good person. And you were popular. You were great at football. You had scouts. They were scouting you for the pros.
Nick: I was a jerk.
Marcie: Maybe, but you weren't a murderer.
Nick: Oh -- I just -- I got in too deep. I didn't know how to stop it.
Marcie: That's not an answer, Nick.
Nick: Don't you know what it's like to look ahead and all you see are bad things because of a mistake that you made, a mistake that you can't take back?
Marcie: Yeah, well, how do you go from that, Nick, to the other side? I need you to explain this to me because I need to understand. Hayes was persuasive, I get that, ok? He was constantly bossing me around, and I found it hard to stand up to him, but I never let it change who I was inside, Nick, and I don't care how much of a jerk you are, you weren't evil, you weren't sick.
Nick: Just stupid? I guess that made me an easy mark, huh?
Marcie: That's not good enough, Nick. And I still don't understand how you got in so deep so fast.
Nick: I'm weak. You know, that's what I know about myself now. What timing, huh? All the thinking I've done since all this has happened, realizing that all of the decisions I made were bad ones, that I turned into somebody I never wanted to be. That's all real clear to me now. The only problem is it's too late.
Bo: Roger. Good copy.
Rex: All right, when you saw -- you did see her, right?
John: How many times do I have to say it?
Rex: All right, did you talk to her?
John: I called her name.
Rex: Ok, and she saw you? She knows we're here?
John: She saw me. Then the walls caved in and covered her.
Rex: All right, but she could still be breathing, right? I mean, even with all that crap covering her?
Bo: Now, look, the chief of rescue operations said there could be air pockets down there.
Rex: Ok, "could be," but maybe not?
Bo: Chances are that she's in one of those air pockets.
Rex: Yeah.
Man: We got her!
John: Natalie!
Layla: Refill?
Adriana: No, thanks.
Layla: Good book? Sorry. You probably came here for some peace and quiet -- in a club. Odd choice, but --
Adriana: I was hoping to see my brother.
Layla: Antonio's not coming in tonight. I'm covering for him.
Adriana: You? You just started working here.
Layla: What can I say? He trusts me. He should. I've had practice in L.A. I can cover an entire bar all by myself at happy hour.
Adriana: I'm sure you could.
Layla: Witty.
Adriana: Since you're suddenly the authority on my brother's whereabouts --
Layla: We're roommates -- or we were. I'm back at my sister's now.
Adriana: Where is he?
Layla: At home with Jessica.
Kevin: I'll check back later. There's nothing new on Natalie.
Duke: This waiting, it's -- it's hard.
Kevin: Yeah, especially for your grandmother.
Duke: Yeah. Dad, is everything ok with you? I mean, I know you're worried about Natalie.
Kevin: Well --
Duke: Is there something else?
Kevin: Like what?
Duke: I don't know. I -- it's just the way that you and Kelly were looking at each other before --
Kevin: Oh, look, I don't know what's going on with Kelly, all right?
Duke: You had another fight with her, didn't you?
Kevin: Well, it's a little more complicated than that, Duke.
Duke: Dad, you and Kelly have -- well, a lot of history, ok, and I know it's going to take time to work through everything. I know that. But the two of you -- you belong together. Everybody knows that -- well, except maybe Dorian.
Kevin: Well, for once I agree with her.
Duke: Wait. Are you serious?
Kevin: Ahem.
Duke: All right, what happened?
Kevin: I made a big mistake, that's what happened. I trusted Kelly again.
Kelly: I want you to know I think it's really big of you to stop by here and offer Viki your support.
Dorian: My goodness, it's the least I can do with everything she's going through, and besides which she's going to be my matron of honor. Enough of that. Tell me what's going on between you and Kevin.
Kelly: Oh --
Dorian: Don't say "nothing," because it's obvious that the two of you are rather upset with each other.
Kelly: I really don't want to talk about this.
Dorian: Please, do tell me that the summer 2005 reunion has been postponed indefinitely.
Kelly: Get over it, Dorian.
Jessica: Mom, I'm just so sorry you had to go through all of this alone.
Viki: Hey, I haven't been alone. You know, Kelly was here, and Kevin, and now you're here.
Antonio: Viki, would you like me to call the P.D., see if they've heard anything?
Viki: No, no, Bo said he'd call, and I believe that he will, you know? I'm just going to continue thinking good thoughts and count my blessings and tell myself that I am very, very lucky, indeed.
Nick: Oh, look, I don't know if I can answer the why question for you, Marcie, but, I mean, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you were right about me. I'm no good. All the decisions I've made have been a disaster.
Marcie: It didn't have to be, Nick.
Nora: Marcie, who let you in here?
Marcie: Officer Thompson -- I worked with him at the L.P.D. I just asked him for a couple minutes.
Nick: It's ok. We were just talking about personal stuff.
Hugh: You shouldn't be talking to anyone if what I heard from your attorney is true.
Marcie: Wait. What's going on?
Nora: Nick has turned state's evidence.
Marcie: To get a lesser sentence?
Nick: Rex was in here a little while ago, and I think I gave him something that maybe the cops can use to find Natalie. I don't care about my sentence. I mean, maybe if I could lead them straight to Natalie, then maybe -- maybe then I could live with myself.
Officer: Hey, hold up there, Sparky. Stop!
[Tires screech]
[Car door opens]
Evangeline: Hi.
Officer: You got kind of a heavy foot there, don't you, ma'am?
Evangeline: Evangeline Williamson. Hi. I'm part of this investigation, and I need to get back there to the area where they're searching for Natalie Vega.
Officer: Sorry, ma'am. Nobody can go back there. It's all closed off.
Evangeline: Officer, listen, please --
Officer: That's why I'm here, why the roadblock's here.
Evangeline: As I told you, I am a part of this investigation, and you need to please open up.
Officer: No way. I do that, and we both have to deal with commissioner Buchanan.
Evangeline: Fine. Fine.
[Car accelerates]
Officer: Holy --
Rex: Sensors?
Bo: Heat-seeking.
Man: Right. They give us snapshots of underground heat. What you're seeing is her on the screen about 17 1/2 feet down.
Rex: Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. If there's heat, then she's alive, right?
Man: We're threading down an oxygen pipe, a small one with a lead light on it. So if she can't hear it because of all the debris, she might be able to see it.
John: How long will it take?
Man: To thread it down?
John: To get to Natalie. How long before she's up here?
Bo: They can't give us a time, John.
Rex: She could be bleeding, Bo, have internal injuries.
John: Every second we're up here, it's a second we waste.
Man: It's going again! Out! Everybody, get out!
Second man: Look out!
Adriana: Jessica's back?
Layla: Got back today. And from the looks of it, when I left the loft, she and Antonio are tighter than ever. It was a total love fest. What's up with that, anyway?
Adriana: They're engaged? They live together? I don't understand the question.
Layla: You're still with your boyfriend, right?
Adriana: Huh. That's none of your business.
Layla: I'm setting up a hypothetical. Forget it. As a woman -- if you had a boyfriend --
Adriana: Duke.
Layla: Ok. So what would you do if Duke ran away to New York without contacting you for a few weeks, or even worse, if he actively avoided you?
Adriana: Jessica had to take care of some things. Antonio understands.
Layla: Or else he's totally whipped.
Adriana: You don't know my brother.
Layla: I know he loves the girl, and she's beautiful. But if I ever get desperate enough to chase a man from state to state, no matter how hot he is, please, get a gun and shoot me in between the eyes.
Adriana: Jessica and Antonio have a very complicated relationship.
Layla: What's so complicated? You either want to be with somebody or you don't. If a guy doesn't have time for me, as they say, he's just not that into me, I get the hint and I move on. Talk is cheap, baby. And this missing-in-action thing? Who needs that kind of drama?
Officer: This is Henderson at the roadblock -- or what used to be the roadblock. Some crazy woman just drove her car straight through it. Anybody there? Can anyone hear me?
Evangeline: Where is everyone?
Man: Who are you?
Evangeline: Who are you?
Man: How did you get past the --
Evangeline: Wait, wait. You're a reporter, aren't you?
Reporter: And you're Evangeline Williamson. Damn, this story gets better and better.
Evangeline: Look, you better get out of here before someone spots you. You're really not supposed to be here.
Reporter: Oh, yeah. Like you're here on a pass?
Evangeline: Where's the dig site?
Reporter: It's around that bend, about 500 yards.
Evangeline: Thanks.
Reporter: Oh, no, no, no, no.
Evangeline: Wait a minute. Get your hands off me.
Reporter: Agh -- all right! You've got clout with Mc Bain. I know that you do. You used to sleep with him, right?
Evangeline: I'm warning you.
Reporter: No, no, no, no, no. I need this score, a story, and the first photos of Natalie Vega, dead or alive.
Man: Lend me a hand with these pulleys.
Second man: You got it.
First man: Check that these braces are holding.
Third man: The area around the pit is almost impossible to secure. The ground is waterlogged and giving way.
Bo: Now what?
Rex: Ok, so how do you get down to her?
Man: We're setting the legs deeper, but we're going to be forced to extract archaeologically. Otherwise, the walls might totally collapse.
Rex: What's that mean?
Man: It means we go slow, a layer at a time, or it'll all be over.
Rex: Ok, but, she -- she can't stay under all that dirt and still breathe. I mean, what if the oxygen pipe doesn't reach her?
Bo: Take it easy, Rex.
Man: The pipe's broken. It severed during the debris collapse.
Rex: Ok, so she can't breathe! Get her out!
John: I'm going in there.
Bo: No --
Man: What?
Bo: John, no.
Man: Wait a second.
John: Listen, you're going to lower me instead of one of your crew.
Man: Forget it! An experienced man has to go.
Bo: No, he's right, John. You don't know what to do. You could end up risking your life.
John: No, I'm going to get her out of there, Bo. Don't try to stop me.
Bo: What you're going to do, lieutenant, is follow orders.
Evangeline: Let him go, Bo. Let John go down there. Let him save Natalie.
Adriana: So do you have a boyfriend?
Layla: No.
Adriana: I didn't think so.
Layla: And what's that supposed to mean?
Adriana: Like you said, talk is cheap. You're spending way too much time analyzing my brother's relationship to have one of your own.
Layla: Ok. Maybe you're right. I am currently single, but that's by choice.
Adriana: Huh. Nobody's alone by choice.
Layla: We're not talking about me. What mysterious power does Jessica hold over Antonio? I've known a lot of guys --
Adriana: You know what? I just want to read my book.
Layla: Oh, no. Woman-to-woman -- you might hold the secret to my future of happiness.
Adriana: I doubt it.
Layla: Me, too. Look, men have dumped me for just thinking about smiling at another guy. And Antonio is as macho as they come. How can he forgive her for running away?
Adriana: They've been through a lot together.
Layla: Is that all you're going to give me?
Adriana: You should ask my brother.
Layla: Oh, come on. Stop being such a convent girl.
Adriana: Fine. Antonio and Jessica were engaged before, but she married someone else -- my other brother.
Layla: You're kidding me, right?
Adriana: Oh, I wish I were. Tico was not a good person -- or -- he did bad things. But Jessica broke his heart.
Layla: And what about Antonio's? She was his first.
Adriana: Like I said, it's complicated.
Layla: Ok, and so, your brother --
Adriana: Tico.
Layla: He's out of the picture now, right?
Adriana: He's dead. You know what? I'm going to go home and call my boyfriend before it gets too late. We don't like to go to sleep without saying good night to each other. It gets lonely.
Viki: Oh, no, thank -- no, thank you. Thank you.
Dorian: Jess?
Jessica: No.
Duke: I don't get it, dad. I mean, the last time that I talked to Kelly on a morning run, I got the feeling that she was feeling pretty good about you guys.
Kevin: This is not the time or the place to talk about this, all right?
Duke: You know, you're my father and she's my friend. Let's make time.
Kevin: This is about more than just Kelly and me. It goes a lot deeper than that. It doesn't just affect the two of us.
Duke: Explain, please.
Kevin: All right. It turns out that the only reason Kelly allowed me to get close to her again is so she could steal top-secret B.E. information, take it outside the company, and stop any chance we had of making a merger.
Duke: What? What?
Kevin: Yeah, she sold us out, Duke.
Duke: No, that is a mistake.
Kevin: What? We're the only two who knew the information.
Duke: I don't care. I still don't believe it. And I can't believe that you would think the worst about her without even investigating it. I mean, seriously, dad, think about that. What would Kelly have to gain by doing what you're accusing her of? I mean, knowing full well that you'd find out? And even if she thought that you wouldn't, why would she set out to hurt you like that? It makes no sense.
Dorian: Kelly, I really am very sorry.
Kelly: Oh, yeah, right, sure.
Dorian: No, I mean that. Honey, I hate to see you in any kind of pain. And I am not going to utter the despicable "I told you so."
Kelly: Well, lucky me. I really caught a break.
Dorian: Honey, all I want is to see you happy. Really, I want you to have all the love and fulfillment that you richly deserve with a man who is deserving of you. Now, then, may I offer this wisdom? Love -- ahem -- can be very complicated and fickle, especially if you're going back to an old love. You go back with all of these expectations, you want more, and, yet, if you find that the same problems still exist, well, then, you're just headed for a fall, a crash.
Kelly: I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but you're giving me a headache. Look, just so you know, this is not about Kevin and me not being compatible --
Dorian: Hmm.
Kelly: Or us wanting something from each other that we're not able to provide.
Dorian: Mm-hmm.
Kelly: It has nothing to do with that.
Dorian: Well, if you say so, then so be it. However, isn't it going to be a bit difficult for you now to continue with your job at Buchanan enterprises?
Kelly: I'm not continuing with anything at B.E., not after Kevin accused me of being a corporate spy. I mean, are you crazy?
Dorian: What? He accused you of being a spy?
Kelly: Oh, forget it, please. Please, just forget it, please. Dorian, isn't it enough for you to know that Kevin and I aren't together anymore, all right? Do you have to know the why in everything?
Dorian: Hmm.
Kevin: What?
Dorian: Oh. I just want to say that I know all about what's going on and I really feel so badly about it.
Kevin: Mm-hmm. Excuse me.
Duke: Hey.
Kelly: Please, please don't.
Duke: Kelly, I know what happened, ok? I know what dad thinks you did, and I told him he was crazy.
Kelly: Well, it doesn't really matter.
Duke: Of course it does.
Kelly: No, it doesn't, because if Kevin thinks that I'm capable of doing something like this, of destroying a business deal for Buchanan Enterprises, then what does that say about me? I mean, if that's what he thinks I am, then how do we come back from that? I mean, how do we ever get past it?
Jessica: I should have been here for her, Antonio. When all this stuff with Natalie was going on, I was off doing God knows what.
Antonio: Well, you're here now, ok? And as soon as they find Natalie, you two will finally be home safe and sound. We're going to beat Tess.
Jessica: Well, I hope you're right.
Antonio: I am. I am. Look, I'm going to take care of you, ok? And as soon as we know that Natalie's safe, then I'm going to go to New York and we'll find out everything we need to about Tess. In the meantime, I'm here for you, always.
Dorian: Viki, are you sure you're all right? Can I get you something?
Viki: No, no, I'm -- I'm fine, thank you. You know, it's really very good of you to be here.
Dorian: Oh, nonsense. It's the least I can do. After all, you've been good enough to agree to be my matron of honor.
Viki: You know, if you're not careful, I'm going to start believing that you asked me to be your matron of honor for all the right reasons.
Nick: So if I sign the papers --
Nora: You're waiving your right to have your attorney present when you sign the affidavit to Hayes' involvement in the murders. Do you understand?
Nick: I do.
Nora: All right. I'll make sure to show these to the judge who's adjudicating your sentence. But please know you'll still be in Statesville for a very long time before you're eligible for parole.
Nick: Yeah, I know that. That's what I deserve, because I wasn't brave enough to do the right thing.
Marcie: You're doing it now.
Nick: What's that expression, "too little, too late"?
Hugh: You ok?
Marcie: Yeah. I will be.
Bo: These men are professionals. You're not trained. You're not going in.
John: They'll lead me through it. They'll tell me what to do.
Rex: Yeah, he just did. You're staying up here. What if you make it worse, John?
Man: This is an order. Are we clear?
Bo: We'll stay out of your way, chief. You do what you need to do.
Evangeline: John?
John: What are you doing here?
Evangeline: I needed to be here for Natalie. I want to be sure you understand that.
John: Thanks.
Evangeline: When I heard about the cave-in, I knew you were probably in the middle of it, and I -- I needed to make sure that you were -- you know, that you were ok. What's going on?
John: I got here first, found the pit that Natalie's in. I saw her.
Evangeline: Oh, my God.
John: Just for a second. Then the walls caved in and blocked the access. She's buried. The rescue team got here. They took over, but the pit's unstable, so they have to move slow. Got to be careful.
Evangeline: Has anyone been able to communicate with her?
John: No. They can't hear her, they can't see her. But sensors picked her up on the screen. She's down there.
Evangeline: That's good news, you know? I mean, that means that --
John: Right over there. I'm not losing her. I can't.
Marcie: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I feel like every time you see me I'm either drunk or crying or throwing up on your shoes.
Hugh: That seems about right.
Marcie: Why are you so nice to me?
Hugh: Why do you think I shouldn't be?
Marcie: I guess I'm just not used to it. I mean, growing up, people were pretty mean to me. You know, I mean, now they're much kinder, probably because I'm a little tougher, I think.
Hugh: It's probably a little of both.
Marcie: You're right. You know, for the past couple of months, I've spent saying I'm sorry, you know, beating up on myself because I think that I was the one who caused this whole horrible mess with my book and then with my high school club, and I know that I was not the one who caused it. I know that I didn't ruin Hayes' life. I know that I didn't turn him into a lunatic, but I --
Hugh: Marcie, Marcie, it's over. Hayes is in jail. Nick is going to jail. It's over.
Marcie: But we still don't know where Natalie is and if she's ever going to be ok again.
Hugh: She'll be fine. From everything I've heard about her, she's tough and determined. She got a lot of people praying for her. She got tons of love and support.
Marcie: Thank you. Thanks for being here.
Nora: Hello? Matthew? Hi, sweetie. It's mom. Yeah. Are you having a good time at your daddy's? Is Marianne being good to you? Good. Hey, listen, I'm really sorry that both your daddy and I had to work late, ok, but I'm going to make it up to you tomorrow night. It's you and me, buddy -- junk food, videos, all to our hearts' content. How's that sound? Good. I can't wait, either. All right, but you know what? That means you have to save up all your energy, ok? So you go say good night to Marianne right now and give her a kiss good night, hop in the sack, will you? Will you do that for me? I love you, too. You're the best. Good night, little guy.
[Phone rings]
Kevin: Hello. Yeah, this is Kevin Buchanan. Wait, are you sure? All right, hold on. They found her.
Man: Clear, clear! I see her!
Second man: We have a visual.
John: How is she?
Bo: You don't go up there, Balsom. You could cause another cave-in. You let the rescue guys do their work.
Man: Natalie! Natalie Vega! Can you hear me? Natalie! Natalie!
>> On the next "One Life to Live" --
Todd: I don't care how and mighty you think you are. You don't want to mess with me.
Jessica: Tess has her own life now. If I let her come out, she might take over for good.
Nash: Maybe you could help me out. I'm looking for somebody.
Bo: John, you can't go down there.
John: I'm going in, Bo.
