One Life to Live Transcript Tuesday 12/31/02
>> Previously on "One Life to Live" --
Troy: Nora and I got engaged.
Roxy: I got married.
Roxy's mom: Like there's anybody out there stupid enough to marry you.
Viki: She was destroyed when she found out that Mitch is her father.
Jessica: You don't understand how bad this hurts.
Jen: To the end of Cristian and Natalie.
Mitch: To us.
***********************************************
Cristian: I asked a question. What's going on? You want to tell me what you're doing here?
Mitch: Looking for you, of course. I was just about to ask Jen if she knew your whereabouts, but you've saved me the trouble.
Cristian: Jen, did he hurt you?
Jen: No. No, he didn’t. It's like he said -- he was just looking for you. Who is this guy?
Cristian: His name is Mitch Laurence, and he's –
***********************************************
Roxy’s mom: You're her husband?
Max: That's right. And the name's Max Holden, and this is Mrs. Max Holden.
Roxy: Oh, Maxie.
Roxy's mom: You got to be kidding. You mean, she actually told the truth for the first time in her miserable life?
Max: That's damn straight she did. And nobody -- I mean, nobody -- talks to my wife like that. Not even her own mother.
***********************************************
Asa: Oh, Honey, I wish you'd told me you were coming. I'd have had Nigel put out a nice spread. Well, anyway, we'll head up to the house and raid the fridge ourselves.
Al: Uh -- we were actually just on our way out.
Asa: Oh, good, good, because I'll tell you something -- it is freezing out there, and the first thing we're going to do is put something warm inside both of you.
Al: No, actually, I meant we were leaving.
Asa: Al, that is not going to happen. I hardly ever see my granddaughter as it is anymore, and I'm not going to let her mosey off now that I got her at my front door. Been awful quiet, Jessie. You have anything to say for yourself?
Jessica: We really have to go.
Asa: Jessie -- I don't know, but you seem kind of upset. What is it? Did anything happen?
***********************************************
Viki: There's still no call from Jessica.
Natalie: Hey, at least with that phone call from Al, we know she's okay and she's not with Mitch Laurence.
Viki: I know, but until she comes home, I'm not going to stop worrying about her.
Natalie: She probably won't stay away too long.
Viki: Oh, Baby, she is so angry with me. What if she never comes home?
Natalie: Of course she will, but, you know, she just got a really big shock. She finds out her biological father is her family's worst enemy.
Viki: Yeah, and her mother couldn't stop her father from taking her away.
Natalie: You still loved her, though, right?
Viki: Oh, Honey, with all my heart.
Natalie: And you raised her with love and support, right?
Viki: I wish I could have raised you that way.
Natalie: Well, my point is she's got all these wonderful memories to cling to, and she's going to remember that.
Viki: I hope so.
Natalie: She will. After the shock wears off, she's going to remember all of that.
Viki: Well, I certainly have a lot of wonderful memories that I treasure. You know something? You are one very, very, very special young lady.
Natalie: I get it from my mom. Everything's going to be okay. You'll see.
Viki: I can't tell you how grateful I am to you for all the love and support you've given me.

Cristian: Go ahead. Kill me. If you hurry, you can probably finish me off and be gone by the time the commissioner gets up here. What's wrong? What, I'm too far? How's that? Let me tell you something, man. The only way you'll ever get near Natalie again is by killing me. So why don't you just do it?
Cristian: Did I say something funny?
Mitch: No. I have no intention of killing you.
Cristian: That's not what Natalie said.
Mitch: Well, my wife obviously misunderstood me.
Cristian: Right. I don't think so.
Mitch: I'm a religious man, Mr. Vega, and the bible says, "Thou shalt not kill."
Cristian: Well, you didn't have any trouble ignoring the part that says, "Thou shalt not lie."
Mitch: I believe it's actually "Bear false witness."
Cristian: You know what I mean.
Mitch: And how are you doing with "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife"? That, neighbor, is what I wanted to tell you. Stop meddling in my marriage.
Cristian: You know what, man? I don't need any bible lessons from you. I know the Commandments, and I obey them. In your case, I'm willing to break one.
Mitch: What, "Thou shalt not covet"?
Cristian: No. "Thou shalt not kill."
Mitch: And by that, you mean --
Cristian: Exactly what I say. You do one thing to hurt Natalie, and I'll kill you.
***********************************************
Viki: Wow!
Viki: Wow! When did that happen?
Nora: Oh, you don't want to talk about my engagement now.
Viki: Of course we do. It's good news. We would love to talk about some good news.
Natalie: Yeah, I'm with Mom on that. You know, this is really great. Dr. MacIver’s a really nice guy.
Nora: Yeah, he is, isn't he?
Natalie: He was really helpful when I hurt my hand, so --
Nora: And he and Ben worked together very, very well at the clinic.
Nora: Eventually.
Viki: That's right, I forgot.
Nora: Yeah.
Viki: So, how did he propose?
Natalie: Was it romantic?
Nora: Yes, incredibly romantic. I mean, it just happened Christmas Eve, so my head's still kind of spinning.
Viki: Oh, my goodness, and it's New Year's Eve and we're keeping you away from him. I'm so sorry. You want to celebrate.
Nora: Well, there's plenty of time to do that -- a whole lifetime. In the meantime, I want to focus on getting Natalie's marriage ended, and then I'll focus on starting my own marriage.
***********************************************
Lindsay: No! No!
Lindsay: Oh!
Troy: You are not going to ruin my life, Lindsay.
Lindsay: No, you ruined your life back in Africa. You want Nora to know the truth? I'll give it to her. You killed your wife.
Troy: Shut up. I didn't kill Joanna!
Lindsay: It's your fault! You tricked her by making her think that you were Colin, and you drove her to her death. Just like you made me believe that you had feelings for me. And you did. I know you did. I felt it.
Troy: What? You're out of your mind.
Lindsay: No, I'm not. It's true. I did something to you, and you hate me for it.
Troy: Shut up.
Lindsay: Just like I hate you for what you did to me. I hate you. I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!
Troy: So, you hate me, huh?
Lindsay: More than any man on this earth.
Troy: And yet you still want me. Don't you?
Lindsay: What?
Troy: You heard me, Lindsay. You want me. So why don't you just admit it?
***********************************************
Roxy: I didn't tell you that I was coming to my mom's. I didn't even tell you that I had a mom.
Max: Well, now that I met her, I can understand why.
Roxy: How did you find me?
Max: Uh -- tell the truth --
Roxy: Okay.
Max: I followed you.
Roxy: You followed me? Why?
Max: Well, you were acting kind of strange back at the house, and I just thought you might be up to -- whatever.
Roxy: Oh, you thought I was pulling off a scam or "whatever?"
Max: No, not necessarily. I mean, I just had this feeling that you -- it doesn't really matter now, does it?
Roxy: No. Sorry, no scam. I come here for the holidays. You know, come to see my mom every Christmastime. And I almost blew it this year because I pulled down the suitcase to go off to see a-- well, you know, I took the suitcase down because, you know, I -- I socked away all this stuff, you know, for her.
Max: Oh, yeah. A veritable treasure-trove.
Roxy: Yeah. That's the one good thing about Stella -- she's very easy to shop for. You know, it's kind of like a no-brainer -- cigarettes, booze, pantyhose, a couple of outfits.
Max: Actually, I don't get it. Why do you do this when she treats you so badly?
Roxy: Because she's my mom. She's got nobody else.
Max: But she's awful to you.
Roxy: You know, I'm kind of used it. I keep on thinking that I'm going to say something or do something that maybe is going to change it and, you know, maybe she'll be nice to me for once.
Max: Roxy, I'm sorry, but I -- I don't think that's ever going to happen. She abuses you, Roxy. You don't deserve that.
Roxy: Really? Nothing different that I haven't done to Rex or Natalie. I think I'm getting exactly what I deserve.
***********************************************
Al: Okay. Here we are. Listen; if everybody's looking for us, I'm pretty sure this is the last place they'll look.
Jessica: What about Roxanne? I don't want to see her right now.
Al: Don't worry about it. Roxanne's not here. I checked the whole place. Nobody's home.
Jessica: Well, she's going to have to come home eventually. Just I really don't want to see anybody who has to do with this whole mess.
Al: Isn't that pretty much everybody you know?
Jessica: Yeah. Except you.
Al: Thanks. So, this will just be temporary. Tomorrow we'll look for someplace else to hide. And listen, I won't leave you alone, unless, that is, you want me to.
Jessica: Are you kidding? You are the best person I can think of to have by my side right now. I'm telling you, you have been the most amazing friend.
Al: Well, I think I'm going to have to settle for second most amazing, right behind you. Listen, I'm really sorry about everything you're going through right now. It's awful. And Asa -- you know, he just kept on saying all the wrong things to you.
Jessica: It was the truth. Mitch -- my father is a horrible human being. And that's it. You know, that's -- that's what I'm going to have to deal with. There's nothing I can do about it. I'm stuck with him. I'm stuck with him for the rest of my life.
***********************************************
Cristian: You do one thing to hurt Natalie, and I'll kill you.
Mitch: A little louder, please, Mr. Vega. I want to make sure the commissioner can hear you clearly.
Bo: What are you doing here, Laurence?
Mitch: Well, I thought I would have a little talk with the young man who dragged my wife out a second-story window against her will.
Bo: Hmm. Do you have any proof of that?
Mitch: No, but you don't need any since you were party to it.
Bo: Do you have any proof of that?
Mitch: Of course not. Like me, you're very good at what you do.
Bo: Well, I'll tell you what you're going to do right now. You're going to leave, and you're not going to show your face here or at Llanfair again because the mayor just signed a new anti-stalking law, and I'm dying to enforce it.
Mitch: Nice meeting you, Jennifer.
Bo: What are you doing? You don't let that guy get to you. See, we want to keep him off balance. We don't want to give him what he wants.
Cristian: I'm sorry.
Bo: Are you okay?
Jen: Yeah, I'm just a little confused.
Bo: Well, all right, I don't think Mitch is going to bother you again. If he does, you call me --
Jen: I will.
Bo: Immediately.
Jen: Okay.
Bo: I'm going to the station. You and I will be in touch, Cristian.
[Door opens and closes]
Jen: What was all that talk about you pulling that guy's wife out of a window?
Cristian: Mitch Laurence is Michael Lazarus.
Jen: The guy that Natalie married?
Cristian: Yeah, but that was a mistake, and Natalie's getting that taken care of.
Jen: Oh. What are you doing?
Cristian: Jen, I'm going to Llanfair. I'm going to be staying at the Carriage House.
Jen: Oh.
Cristian: Look, you can keep the loft. We'll -- we'll talk about the details later. I'm really sorry about this whole Mitch Laurence thing. But with me out of the way, it should be fine. So, I guess this is it. Good-bye.
Jen: Bye.
[Knock on door]
***********************************************
Stella: Oh, I see she's trying here crybaby routine with you and you fell for it. You want my advice, Maxie?
Max: No, I don't think I care to hear what you have to say. Come on, let's go.
Stella: Hey, where you going? You can't leave.
Max: Excuse me?
Stella: She's got to fix my dinner with all the trimmings. It's a holiday -- it's -- it's a ritual with us every year. It's like a tradition.
Max: Roxy has a new family now. I think we'll start some new family traditions. Why don't you go ahead and make your own holiday dinner, okay? My wife and I are leaving.
Stella: You can't do that! Hey, don't you leave, you ungrateful little tramp, you!
Roxy: I'm sorry, Mama, but my husband says that I'm leaving, so I'm leaving.
***********************************************
Al: Yeah. You're right. You can't change who your biological father is. But you still have your real father, Clint. You have something else. You have something far more important. You have that Buchanan spirit.
Jessica: Oh, boy. Don't -- you really are starting to sound like my grandfather.
Al: Well, your grandfather is right. You're a Buchanan. You're fearless. You can face this, Jessie. You can face anything.
Jessica: You really think so?
Al: I know so because I know you.
***********************************************
Mitch: The temper on that ex-boyfriend of yours -- threatening me in front of witnesses.
Jen: You worried?
Mitch: Hardly. Actually, I think I may be able to use it to my advantage, and then we will have everything we want. You will get back at Cristian and Natalie for what they did to you, and I will get back at Viki for what she did to me.
***********************************************
Natalie: Oh, Cris. Oh. I'm so glad you're back. Did everything go okay at the loft?
Cristian: Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine.
Viki: Cristian's going to be staying here for a little while at the carriage house.
Nora: Is he?
Natalie: That's okay, isn't it?
Nora: Actually, no. You're obviously involved.
Natalie: Yeah, we are.
Nora: Till I get your annulment from Mitch, I think it would be a good idea if you two stay away from each other.
***********************************************
Troy: You want me so bad, you can't even see straight.
Lindsay: Why would I want a man that's hurt me so much? Why would I want a man that's put me in prison for 28 years?
Troy: Come on, Lindsay, I've seen you checking me out. Ever since you got out of Statesville. The day at the clinic, the night you broke into my loft. And you know why? Because I have something you want, Lindsay, something that will shut you up once and for all.
Lindsay: I don't want you!
Troy: Sure, you want me. Now, say it. Come on, Lindsay; admit it. Look at me. Say it. Say it, and it's yours.
Lindsay: I want you so bad, I can't see straight.

Troy: If you want me to stop, you got to tell me right now.
Cristian: Jen, what are you doing here?
Jen: I came to see Natalie.
Mitch: I'm taking out a restraining order against Cristian Vega.
Viki: He drugged me, and then -- and then he --
Todd: He what?
