Jessica: It has nothing to do with that. We're having a party.
Todd: For Jack?

Lindsay: Jen, tell me what you're going to do.
Jen: I've watched you all these years, Mom. Now it's time for you to watch me.

Michael: Natalie, you're crying. Are you all right? Natalie, what is it? What's wrong?
Natalie: Why are you here? Are you following me?

Al: Excuse me. Can you make sure that Comm. Buchanan gets these hours?
Man: No problem.
Al: Oh, thanks a lot.
Man: All right.
Cristian: What are you doing?
Al: What does it look like? I'm sweeping. I volunteer here.
Cristian: Since when?
Al: Since a while.
Cristian: I've never seen you here before.
Al: Yeah, well, I've never seen you, either. I guess we've been lucky up to this point. Any more questions, Detective?
Cristian: Just one. Why are you lying?

Allison: I've been expecting you.

Allison: I knew you'd come.
Viki: Because of what you did to Jessica and Natalie. Allison, when you switched those babies, did you know that they were twins? Did you know that they were both mine?

Todd: There’s a birthday party for Jack, and I'm not even invited?
Jessica: No --
Todd: No, I mean, I know I was stuck on a deserted island for a month. I guess my invitation's probably coming in the mail.
Jessica: The party's not for Jack.
Todd: Who else's birthday could it be?
Jessica: Jen Rappaport is --
Todd: Judas' daughter?
Jessica: What?
Todd: Never mind.
Jessica: It's not a birthday party. It's a shower. Jen is marrying Cristian --
Todd: No, no, no, don't care, don't care. Look, I need to talk to Viki because, well, it's Jack's birthday today and I need for Viki to get Blair to let me go see Jack.
Jessica: My Mom's not here.
Todd: Okay, then, I guess you're just going to have to do.

Hedy: Look at this beautiful cake.
Starr: I wish my Dad was here to see this.
Hedy: Oh, now, liebchen, you know your mother would never allow that.
Starr: Maybe she'll change her mind.
Hedy: I don't think so.
Starr: Poor Dad. I know how much he didn't want to miss this.

Todd: Jack is your first cousin. You know that.
Jessica: I know that.
Todd: So don't you think he has a right to be with his father on his birthday?
Jessica: It doesn't matter what I think.
Todd: Hey, you're right about that, but, really, you shouldn't put yourself down.
Jessica: Blair is Jack's mother, and she doesn't want you to be around Jack.
Todd: Really? How do you know that?
Jessica: Why else would she have a restraining order against you?
Todd: Well, you know how Blair is.
Jessica: What, worried about her kids?
Todd: She's always freaked out about something. She's high-strung. That's what she is.
Jessica: Really? So you think she has no reason to have a restraining order against you?
Todd: She probably doesn't even remember why she's got it in the first place.
Jessica: Really? I think she does, Todd, because I do. You told her her baby was dead.
Todd: [jumbled] -- somebody stole you from Viki and everything. But that Allison nut job lady, she brought you back, just the way I brought Jack back to Blair.
Jessica: So that makes it okay?
Todd: Yeah.
Jessica: What about what it put Jack through in the meantime? Or what about what it put Blair through?
Todd: Okay, look, Blair wouldn't even be having the baby if it weren't for me.
Jessica: Just because you're the father doesn't --
Todd: No, no, no, no. What I'm saying is that -- look, Blair was down in Mexico there because that's where she decided she should have the baby -- in the middle of nowhere with no one around. She got into trouble, and I was there. I was the one who helped her out. I helped Blair deliver Jack one year ago today.

Blair: I can’t. I can’t.
Todd: Yes, you can, Blair.
Blair: No, I can't!
Todd: Yes, you can! Look, if I can do this, then you can do this. Now push!
Blair: All right!
[Blair groans]
[Jack cries]
Todd: It's a boy.
[Blair laughs]
Blair: You know what?
[Jack coos]
Blair: Yeah, I -- I never even really got to see you when -- I was so tired, Jack, and you were so tiny. I couldn't really make out anything except your little legs and your little arms. Oh, my, you were just so -- so tiny then. But you know what? Your daddy was holding you. Your daddy was holding you then. That's right. Everything was going to be all right. Everything, finally, was going to be all right. You want this? Then your daddy took you out of the room, and I didn't even get to hold you. Didn't get to look at your beautiful face. Yes. I didn't get to hold you like I'm holding you now. And then what happened next, Jack, was the saddest day of my life.
Todd: The baby died, Blair.
Blair: No, he didn’t. He's -- he's just out there somewhere and he's hungry. He needs me. Our baby needs me, Todd.
Todd: It's not our baby. He's your baby, yours and Max’s. And he didn't make it.
Blair: Jack, I'm so sorry. I don't want to spoil your wonderful birthday today. I just want you to know that -- that I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me, and I wanted you to know why.
[Jack coos]
Blair: If I had known that you were alive in Mexico, I would've stayed, Sweetie. I would've stayed and I would've looked for you. And you know what? I would've found you. I would've. Let me tell you something -- I can promise you that I am never, ever, ever going to let you go. Never, ever again. Oh, no, I'm not. I love you so much, Jack.

Michael: Natalie, I promise you, I'm not following you.
Natalie: Then why are you here?
Michael: I just happened to see you crying, and I was concerned.
Natalie: I'm -- I'm fine. That still doesn't explain why you're here.
Michael: I came here to pray. That is why people come to churches, isn't it?
Natalie: Yeah, I guess.
Michael: I once had a flock of my own, right here in Llanview -- although that was many years ago.
Natalie: You were a priest?
Michael: No, not exactly. I'm not Catholic.
Natalie: Oh.
Michael: But I've always been drawn to quiet, spiritual places. They – they remind me of a time, a time before -- before I let down my flock.
Natalie: How did you let them down? What happened?

Cristian: What is this, some kind of community service? Community service is for criminals, Al. What crime did you commit?
Al: I don't know. Why don't you tell me? Because you seem to know everything else.
Cristian: Whatever it is, you'd probably lie about it, just like you lie about everything else.
Al: Whatever, man.
Chad: Hey, Cris, ready to shoot some hoops, man?
Seth: We gotta do something while the girls are at Jen’s shower.
Al: Jen's shower -- that's today?
Cristian: Yeah, it is.
Al: Well, I guess you really do have it all.

Marcie: Jen, I'm having the best time. Thank you so much for inviting me.
Jen: Thank you so much for what you did.
Marcie: I'll do anything to help you. You're so beautiful and talented. You deserve everything.
Jen: You can't tell anybody that you changed my due date.
Marcie: Oh, I wouldn't. I swear, I'd never tell a soul. But I wanted to ask you something.
Jen: I really don't have time. I've got to take care of something.
Marcie: Oh. Okay.
Jen: We'll talk later. I'd really like that.
Marcie: You would?
Jen: Of course. We're friends, right?
Marcie: Right. Okay.

Jen: Hi, Mrs. Vega.
Carlotta: Soon you'll be calling me "Mami," I hope.
Jen: You having a good time?
Carlotta: For the most part.
Jen: I know. My mom can be a little rude sometimes.
Carlotta: Well, that's not your fault.
Jen: Everything else okay? The food --
Carlotta: Yes, it's lovely.
Jen: I put Natalie in charge of it. I knew she'd do a great job.
Carlotta: It's fine.
Jen: I wonder where Natalie is. She should've been back by now.
Carlotta: Back?
Jen: I sent her to the church to drop off my pre-cana form.
Carlotta: You sent Natalie to the church?
Jen: Yeah. Why? What's wrong?
Carlotta: Nothing, I -- I just assumed that you and Cristian would go by yourselves, you know, together.
Jen: Well, I wanted to, but I didn't want to be late to my own shower.
Carlotta: Right, of course not.
Jen: Natalie probably just ran into Cristian at the church. They're probably talking.
Carlotta: Oh, I doubt that.
Jen: Why?
Carlotta: Well, Cristian made plans to go play basketball with his friends. I don't think he'd waste extra time with this -- you know, the church.
Jen: Sure, he would. He wouldn't just take off if he ran into Natalie. He loves hanging out with her.
Carlotta: I didn't know that was still going on.
Jen: Why wouldn't it be?
Carlotta: No reason.
Jen: They're together all the time.
Carlotta: They are?
Jen: Yeah. And I'm so glad that Natalie feels like she can hang out with him whenever she wants to. I wouldn't want me marrying Cristian to change that. She's Cristian’s friend, and she's my friend, too. I am so lucky to have her.
Carlotta: Don't be so sure about that.

Blair: Good job. Hey.
Sam: Hey. You okay?
Blair: I'm fine. Aw, Sam, I'm just thinking how grateful I am to be holding my beautiful little boy on his birthday.
Sam: Oh, that's a lot to be grateful for. Blair: This time last year, I thought he was gone forever.
Sam: I can't imagine what that must've been like and how great it is to have him back.
Blair: Oh, it's great, all right. It's beyond great. I can't even put into words how wonderful it is. I was thinking --
Sam: Hmm?
Blair: This year, I want a quiet, quiet birthday for Jack -- just you, me, and Starr.
Sam: That's all?
Blair: Mm-hmm. Just us. What do you say about that, Jack? Hmm? Can you take it off? Very good!

Jessica: I know you love Jack.
Todd: So what?
Jessica: But there's nothing I can do to help you.
Todd: You're going to leave your favorite uncle just hanging here? How ever are you going to live with yourself?
Jessica: Don't you dare put this back on me, Todd. You did this to yourself.
[Phone rings]
Todd: What?
Starr: How would you like to come say happy birthday to Jack?
Todd: I'd like that, Starr, but I can't do it.
Starr: Yes, you can.
Todd: No, I can’t. I go anywhere near Jack, I get arrested.
Starr: Don't worry. I'll take care of everything.
Todd: You will, will you?
Starr: Sure. Now, listen up, Dad. Here's what we're going to do.

Sister Theresa: I really don't think Allison is going to be able to tell Mrs. Davidson anything about her daughters.
Bo: Well, it's worth a shot.
Sister Theresa: Yes, of course. It's just no one's been able to get through to her.
Bo: Well, Viki is not "No one."
Allison: I don't know what you're talking about, Mom.
Viki: "Mom"?
Allison: Yes, I'm so glad you came. I knew you would come to get me out of here. Oh, you've come to take me home, Mom.
Viki: Allison, I am not your mother. I'm Viki. I'm Viki Davidson.
Allison: Viki Davidson. I don't know --
Viki: When we first met years ago, I was Viki Buchanan, and I had a baby daughter, Jessica. You kidnapped her and then you brought her back.
Allison: I always wanted a baby, but I would never keep a baby that didn't belong to me, no.
Viki: Allison, you have to listen to me, all right? Last year you admitted that the baby you kidnapped was not Jessica. It was another baby, Natalie. And then you switched her with Jessica when she was staying at the Balsoms.
Allison: Why was she staying there? Was she having a sleepover?
Viki: She was just a baby, Allison. Natalie and Jessica were both babies. And now it turns out they were both my daughters. They're twins.
Allison: Twins?
Viki: Yes. They're twins. And you switched them. I mean, do you remember that? Do you remember switching the babies? Do you remember why you did it?
Allison: Yes. I do remember.

Michael: The flesh is weak, Natalie. I tried to help them with their problems, but many times I couldn't. Many times I failed them, until I finally abandoned my flock.
Natalie: I'm sure you did what you thought was right.
Michael: Bless you. Anyway, I'm so sorry that I interrupted you. I guess I can't let go of that desire to help people, especially when it's so clear to me that they're in pain.
Natalie: Yeah. I'm definitely in pain.
Michael: Perhaps that's what drew me here. Because, Natalie, I do not believe in coincidence.
Natalie: Yeah, well, my life is one bad coincidence.
Michael: I believe that God has a plan, a reason for everything. It may not seem like it now.
Natalie: It doesn't.
Michael: If you want to talk about what's bothering you, I would be happy to listen.
Natalie: Thanks, but --
Michael: You're not taking me up on the offer?
Natalie: No. Because there's nothing you can do about it.
Michael: How can that be?
Natalie: It's simple. I'm in love with a guy who is marrying another woman.

Carlotta: Let's talk about this later.
Jen: We're going to be family soon. If you know something about Natalie --
Carlotta: No, I don’t.
Jen: I'm sorry, Mrs. Vega. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think you're telling me the truth. There's something you're not telling me, and I have no idea what it is.
Carlotta: It doesn't matter, Jen. It's fine. It doesn't matter.
Jen: This is because Natalie tried to help Al fake paralysis, right? You really shouldn't hold that against her, not when she's completely turned her life around.
Carlotta: But I'm not talking about what Natalie did with Al.
Jen: Well, then, I really have no idea what you're talking about. Natalie has been so good to me. I completely trust her. Why wouldn't I?
Carlotta: Because --
Jen: She's sweet, and she's honest, and --
Carlotta: Because Natalie’s in love with Cristian.

Starr: Can I help you with anything?
Hedy: You want to help me?
Starr: Please?
Hedy: What do you want, Starr?
Starr: Nothing.
Hedy: Mm-hmm.
Starr: All right, fine. It's my brother's birthday. I want everything to be perfect for him. That's what big sisters do, isn't it?
Hedy: All right. Why don't you start putting those presents over here on the couch, and I will start putting the candles on the cake.
Starr: All right.
Starr: Hedy!
[Hedy gasps]
Starr: Look what you did to the cake!
Hedy: Oh, my God, the cake! Oh!
Starr: Oh, my gosh! My Mom's going to kill you!
Hedy: Oh! I don't know how that happened!
Starr: You better go to the bakery and get a new one.
Hedy: I -- I can’t.
Starr: You have to!
Hedy: I'm not supposed to leave my post. Oh --
Starr: Listen, I'll cover for you.
Hedy: That's what I'm worried about.
Starr: Listen, you have two choices. Door number one, you get another cake, or door number two, you get another job.
Hedy: I'll be right back.
Starr: Take your time.

Seth: Hey, man, you okay?
Cristian: Been better.
Seth: I know you got a lot on your mind with the wedding coming up, plus whatever's going on with you and Natalie.
Cristian: Nothing is going on between me and Natalie.
Seth: Sorry.
Cristian: No. No, look, it's just -- it's Al. He bugs me.
Seth: Yeah, that guy's got to get over Jen and get a life.
Al: Yeah, well, maybe I will.
Cristian: What, are you spying on us?
Al: I wasn't spying. I was sweeping, see? But I did happen to overhear Seth say -- what did you say? I should forget Jen and get a life? Is that right?
Seth: Look, man --
Al: Look, relax. I think you're right, you know? Why should I run around chasing Jen when there are so many other available women out there? Women like Natalie.

Natalie: I saw him right here in the church today.
Michael: So that's what you meant about your life being one bad coincidence.
Natalie: And that wasn't even the worst part. I walk in, and then the priest -- well, he thinks that I'm the bride-to-be. And then I couldn't help myself. I just started imagining myself marrying him, standing up there at the altar and -- instead of sitting here in the pews watching.
Michael: Perhaps the two of you were brought here together for a reason.
Natalie: Oh, right, and I suppose this is where you're going to tell me again that God has a reason for everything?
Michael: He does have a plan, Natalie.
Natalie: Is torturing me a part of his plan?
Michael: Of course not. God has a wonderful plan for you.
Natalie: It doesn't seem so wonderful.
Michael: No, it just takes time to become clear. You'll make it through this, just like you've made it through other hard times.
Natalie: How did you know that I had other hard times?
Michael: Well, we all have, haven't we?
Natalie: Thanks again for cheering me up.
Michael: It's my pleasure.
Natalie: Oh.
Michael: Is everything all right?
Natalie: Yeah, I just didn't expect to be here this long. I've got to go. Look, I'm sorry that I'm rushing off like this.
Michael: No, no, it's all right. I'm going to stay behind and light a candle for a friend. Someone who passed away.
Natalie: Oh, I'm sorry. Was it someone close to you?
Michael: Yes. Very.
Natalie: All right. I'll leave you alone, then. And I'm sorry that I thought you were following me.
Michael: No, no, no, it's okay. I understand.
Natalie: Okay. Oh -- I forgot -- my purse.
Michael: Oh.
[Michael chuckles]
Natalie: Bye.
Michael: Good-bye, Natalie.

Jen: What did you say?
Carlotta: Oy, por favor, Senora.
Jen: You said Natalie is in love with Cristian.
Carlotta: Jen --
Jen: Why would you say that?
Carlotta: I didn't mean to say it. It just slipped out.
Marcie: Jen, wait!
Lindsay: Wait a minute. I'll talk to her.
[Carlotta sighs]
Lindsay: Oh, Jen.
Jen: Am I good or what?

Blair: Sam, I really think Jack is going to love the little book that you gave him.
Sam: Yeah, do you?
Blair: Yes, I do.
Sam: Well, it was Will's favorite.
Blair: I bet it was. Hey.
Starr: Where's Jack?
Blair: He's upstairs.
Starr: Still taking his nap?
Blair: Oh, yeah. He's out like a light.
Starr: Perfect.
Blair: What'd you say?
Starr: I said that that's really good because you don't want him tired for his birthday party.
Blair: Yeah. So, where's Hedy?
Starr: She's in the kitchen, you know, getting together the party stuff. And then when she's done, she's going to go right upstairs and watch Jack. The back stairs.
Blair: Oh, well, good, because I don't want Jack to be alone at all.
Starr: Don't worry. He won't be.
Blair: Starr, are you all right, Sweetie?
Starr: Yeah, I'm fine. I have to go.
Blair: I don't know, Sam. I think she's pretty upset because Todd can't be here today.
Sam: Yeah, well, it's a good thing she's not so angry with him anymore.
Blair: Angry? I wish. No, she's turned Todd into this big hero now that he brought Jack back. I think she's completely forgotten what she felt like before.
Sam: I'm not so sure she was as angry with him as she said.
Blair: Well, I think maybe you're right.
Sam: We know she really loves Todd, and all those months she was missing him -- it probably was easier for her to tell herself that she was angry with him.
Blair: Well, I know she loves her daddy, and I don't want to change that. That's why I never told her the real reason Todd brought Jack back in the first place was just for himself.
Sam: You're sure about that?
Blair: Why else would he do it?
Sam: Well, maybe he brought him back for you, too.
Blair: For me? Look, if I hadn't told Todd that was Jack was his son, he wouldn't even have looked for him in the first place.
Sam: Well, that's true.
Blair: Why'd you even bring that up?
Sam: Because I've been feeling a little guilty.
Blair: Why?
Sam: Because if I hadn't gone looking into Jack's adoption, if I hadn't been so determined to uncover the truth, your family might still be together.

Starr: I took care of Hedy and the alarm.
Todd: You did that all by yourself?
Starr: Of course. I'm your daughter. So, I guess you want some alone time.
Todd: Yeah.
Starr: It's okay. I know.
[Jack coos]
Starr: He still doesn't do much, though.
Todd: Hi, Jack. Hey, Happy Birthday. So, what do you want for your birthday, huh? Because I was thinking of getting you, like, a Bengal tiger. Is that going to be okay? Because, you know, your sister -- she's crazy about the animals, so I thought, you know -- of course, I can't really give it to you now because your mom might notice if there was a Bengal tiger running around the house, and then she'd call the cops, and your old man would get arrested, and -- oh, my -- Jessica was right. I brought this on myself. I gave my kid away to strangers. My own son.

Blair: You are not responsible. If anyone is, it's Todd.
Sam: What I'm saying is if I'd stayed out of it --
Blair: No, no, no, I am the one that asked you to look into Jack's adoption. And because you did, I found out the truth about Jack.
Sam: Thank God for that.
Blair: Yes, thank God for that. I thought my baby was dead. And because of you, I have him back into my life. And you know what, Sam? I'm never going to be able to tell you how much I appreciate that.
[Footsteps]
Starr: Hey, you guys.
Blair: What is it, Sweetie?
Starr: I want to show you something outside.
Blair: Come on, Starr.
Starr: It'll only take a little while.
Sam: Well, why not?
Blair: Okay, okay -- wait, wait, wait! Wait, wait, wait, I forgot --
Starr: What?
Blair: A present. I forgot one of Jack's presents.
Starr: So?
Blair: So, why don't you and Sam go look at whatever you need us to look at, and I'll be right with you in just a minute --
Starr: Can't you do it later?
Blair: No, it'll just -- I'll be fast.
Starr: Is -- is it upstairs? I'll go get it.
Blair: No, no, no, it's down in the basement. I kind of hid it from you, too.
Starr: Oh, the basement. All right, but hurry.
Blair: Okay, I will. I'll be fast.
Sam: Well, come on Starr. Show me what you got.
Starr: Yeah.

[Door opens and closes]
Blair: I think I'm going to go check on Jack.

Jen: I really have to thank you.
Lindsay: I'm telling you that scheming this way is not the answer.
Jen: And you also told me that putting Natalie and Cristian together was a big mistake. And if it wasn't for you, I never would've realized that I needed a new strategy.
Lindsay: You don't need a strategy at all. Cristian and you are getting -- you're getting married!
Jen: What if Cristian did dump me for her? It would be the end of it. They would've won.
Lindsay: Jen --
Jen: But they haven't. As long as poor Jen knows the truth, I have them right where I want them.
Lindsay: And how's that going to get rid of her?
Jen: You'll see.

Carlotta: I feel terrible. How could I let myself say such a thing?
Keri: Mrs. Vega, it wasn't your fault.
Carlotta: And today of all days --
Keri: So many people knew about Cristian and Natalie. It was just a matter of time before someone said something.
Carlotta: But why me? Oy, por favor, Senor!
Keri: Mrs. Vega, maybe it was for the best.
Carlotta: No. I don't think so.
Keri: But if Cristian doesn't love Jen --
[Carlotta sighs]
Carlotta: Jen is having his baby, and Cristian is going to do the right thing. Whereas you -- okay. Close your mouth, Carlotta. Keep it shut or have somebody to sew it for you.
Keri: Mrs. Vega, I know you're not happy about me carrying this baby for my mother, but be happy about this -- I love Antonio to the bottom of my heart.
Carlotta: Oh, and, my dear, I know he loves you just as deeply. And I'm really glad about that. So please, please forgive a foolish mother for feeling that this pregnancy of yours is strange.
Keri: It may be a little strange, but it's also a miracle.
Carlotta: Oh. I can't believe that I let myself say such a thing. How could I be so stupid? Oh, Jen -- Jen, I'm so sorry.
Jen: You are --
Carlotta: Forgive my big mouth --
Jen: You are wrong about Natalie. You are all wrong about her. There's just been some kind of misunderstanding.
Natalie: Hey. Sorry. I didn't mean to be gone for so long. I just -- I was at the church longer than I thought. Jen, what's wrong?
Jen: Were you with Cristian?
Natalie: I -- I saw him. What is it, Jen?

Viki: Allison -- Allison, did you know that Jessica and Natalie were twins, my twins? Allison, please, please, I have to know these things. Why did you switch twins?
Allison: Ask Mitch.

Todd: You know, you have every right to hate my guts, Jack. I mean, all you ever wanted was to be with two parents and have them love you -- your mother and your father. I gave you away. And then I told your mother -- I mean, I told -- okay, well, I didn't tell Blair, but I didn't stop her from believing that you were dead.
