Al: We did it twice and I didn't instigate it. She came on to me, Dad.
Carlotta: Natalie's not the one carrying your child and Jen is.
Jen: No matter how he feels now, our baby will always bind us together.

Max: I want an answer. What the hell are you doing to my son?
Jen: I'm not doing anything to Al.
Max: You're not?
Jen: No. Why would you think that?
Max: Because he told me.
Jen: What? What did he tell you?
Max: The truth -- that you've been sleeping with him.

Roxy: Ok, let's see what the love of Max's life has to tell me. Talk to me, Luna.
Luna: Max, darlin', if you're watching this, well, I must've gone on to be with the goddess. But, Honey, I want you to know my love for you hasn't. It's still here with you. It's all around you.
Roxy: [Southern accent] So are your videotapes.
Luna: That's why I made this tape for you.
Roxy: [Normal voice] Hey, great minds think alike.
Luna: Because I love you and I wanted to be there for you anytime you needed my help. And you must need my help right now.
Roxy: I don't know if he needs your help, Sister, but I sure do.

Rex: Hey, Jess.
Jessica: Hey.
Rex: Where's -- where's Seth?
Jessica: Uh, in class.
Rex: So he's ok?
Jessica: He's fine. Why?
Rex: Oh, I don't know. I saw -- I saw he took his name off the schedule at Break Bar for the next couple days. I was worried he might be sick.
Jessica: Oh, no. He's fine.
Rex: Oh, good.
Jessica: Nice of you to be concerned, considering how mean he's been to you.
Rex: Oh, whatever. It doesn't matter.
Jessica: No, it does matter. But I think he's coming through. I think he's going to be really nice to you now.
Rex: Yeah, right.
Jessica: What?
Rex: Nothing. So, Seth’s not sick. Are you two going away together or something?
Jessica: No. Actually, he's going away by himself for a few days.
Rex: Oh, yeah? Where's -- where's he going?
Jessica: I'm not sure.
Rex: What do you mean? He didn't tell you?
Jessica: No.

Natalie: I mean it, Cristian. I can't be with you anymore. I can't see you anymore, ok?

Natalie: Cristian, I talked to her. I know what Jen is going through.

Natalie: Look, she -- she is a total wreck because of you.
Cristian: Natalie, I --
Natalie: Cristian, she's having your baby.

Max: Yes, he did.
Jen: That is none of your business.

Jen: What?
Max: You're leading him on.
Jen: You don't know anything about this.
Max: I know that you slept with my son while you were still living with Cristian -- more than once.
Lindsay: What's going on?

Asa: This is not my damn home, Nigel. Not as long as that witch is still here.
Nigel: Be that as it may, before you get settled in, I think there's something you should know.
Asa: What -- what in the Sam Hill is going on here?
Nigel: Perhaps you should ask the witch -- your wife. She's in there. Oh, you must sign here before you leave.
Asa: Gretel! What the hell are you doing?
Rae: I'm settling the last of my lawsuits, Asa. Here you go.
Shawna: Thank you. Yes, we're getting what we deserve.
Rae: Even Miss Quinlan and Miss Serafin, the last of the holdouts, were surprisingly willing to settle.
Shawna: Oh, hey, who needs to drag this out in court, huh?
Asa: Oh. Is that right?
Rae: Girls, would you step into the foyer? Nigel has a few papers for you to sign. Thank you.
Asa: Gretel, my little darlin', exactly how much money is this settlement going to cost me? Are you loco?
Rae: No, no, no, no. Don't get mad, darlin'. Wouldn't be good for your blood pressure.
Asa: Don't you worry, Gretel. I'm not going to get mad. Not this time. Because I already got even.

Rex: You don't think that's a little weird, not knowing where he's going?
Jessica: He did say it was a family thing.
Rex: But I thought he was from here, like Angel Square or something?
Jessica: Yeah, he is, but he's got family near Pittsburgh.
Rex: Oh.
Jessica: Yeah, he said something about his brother -- brother's marriage may be on the rocks.
Rex: That's too bad.
Jessica: Yeah, he doesn't like to talk about it, I don't ask.
Rex: Sure, I understand. It's not like Seth’s keeping something from you.
Jessica: Right. Exactly.
Rex: Ok. Anyway, I'm just glad he's not sick.
Jessica: He's fine. Thank you.
Rex: I better to go. I'll see you later.
Jessica: Ok.
Jessica: Hey Seth.
Seth: It's gotta be more interesting than that biochem book.
Jessica: Oh, I think I need a biochem book to figure out what's in this thing.
Seth: I'm sure nothing that's good for you.
Jessica: No, but you're good for me. Thank you so much. I wish you weren't leaving, even if it is for a few days.
Seth: Jess --
Jessica: Yeah?
Seth: There's something that you should know about this trip.

Rex: Hey, is this Vince? Yeah, I saw your name on the rides board. You're driving to Michigan? No, I don't need a ride. I was just wondering if you were taking someone else -- Seth Anderson? Yeah? I got a way for you to make some cash, and you don't have to drive me anywhere.

Cristian: Look, Natalie, I know Jen’s upset and I know it's because of me.
Natalie: And that's why you need to go.
Cristian: But that's not why I needed to see you. There's something I have to tell you.
Natalie: Cristian, there's nothing else to say.
Cristian: Yes, there is. You know, when I told you that I loved you, I didn't know what was going on with Jen.
Natalie: Yeah. You know now, though.
Cristian: Yeah. Yeah, I do. But it doesn't make what I told you any less true. I still feel the same way about you. But Jen’s pregnant, she's having a baby because of me, and I have to take responsibility for that. So I've been doing some thinking, and I've figured something out. I know what I have to do.

Jen: Nothing's going on, Mom. Mr. Holden was just leaving.
Max: Actually, I wasn't quite finished.
Lindsay: Anything you have to say in front of my daughter you can say in front of me.
Max: Sure.
Jen: No. I mean, it's private. Could I please talk to you outside for a minute?
Lindsay: What is going on?
Jen: Just stay here, Mom. It'll only take a few minutes.
Max: You don't want your mother to hear what you've been doing? Obviously, you think you must be doing something wrong.
Jen: No, just private, and I can't believe Al told you about it.
Max: And I can't believe you expected to get away with it.
Jen: Get away with what? I haven't done anything.
Max: You've been taking advantage of him.
Jen: Because I'm still living with Cristian?
Max: Yes!
Jen: Al knew about that. He slept with me anyway.
Max: Oh, come on. You came on to him.
Jen: Is that what he told you?
Max: You did it, Jen.
Jen: Yeah, what about what Al did? What about pretending to be paralyzed so I would marry him?
Max: That was a long time ago.
Jen: Oh, I'm sorry. That must mean it's ok.
Max: He's learned his lesson.
Jen: Apparently not, because he's the one that's coming after me. I have not been coming after him.
Max: The boy's in love with you, Jen.
Jen: Is that what you think love is?
Max: His feelings are genuine. Don't mess with them.
Jen: You can't believe anything he says about this or anything else.
Max: Yes, I can, because I know my son.
Jen: Oh, yeah? Well, how come that he told me he wouldn't tell anyone about the mistakes we made?
Max: Maybe it's his way of thinking it wasn't a mistake.
Jen: Well, it doesn't matter because he told you about it when he told me he wouldn’t.
Max: He told me because you've been putting him through hell, young lady. You've been treating him like dirt.
Jen: No. He told you because he knew what you'd do. You'd come here and harass me!
Max: Listen. If you want a simple way to keep me from harassing you, just stay away from my son.
Jen: Fine. Tell Al to stay away from me, too.
Jen: Mr. Holden just wanted to tell me the rent's going up.
Lindsay: I heard what he said. You're sleeping with Al Holden?
Jen: Mom --
Lindsay: Is it over between you and Cristian?
Jen: No. It's just the beginning.

Seth: I wouldn't be taking this trip right now if it wasn't really important.
Jessica: I know.
Seth: I love you, and I want to keep you safe.
Jessica: I'm going to be fine. I know it's a big house.
Seth: What?
Jessica: You're worried about me being alone now that Mom and Ben are gone.
Seth: Jess --
Jessica: You don't have to worry. I mean, it's not like I'm completely alone. Natalie's there.
Seth: Jess --
Jessica: She's not my favorite person, but, still, she lives there. And so does Rex.
Seth: Right. Rex.
Jessica: Stop, please. I really wish you could just give Rex a chance.
Seth: Yeah.
Jessica: Seth, I'm not asking you guys to be best friends. I'm just asking you to be -- stop being so suspicious of him. All right, so, what were you saying about the trip?
Seth: Just -- just that I'm -- I'm going to miss you a lot.
Jessica: I'm going to miss you, too. I have an idea. When you get back, why don't we spend all day and all night together?
Seth: That sounds good to me.
Jessica: Of course, Rex may be around.
[Seth sighs]
Seth: Or not.
Jessica: Seth -- stop. Come on! I want you to know the real Rex.
Seth: Oh, don't worry. I definitely want to get to know the real Rex.

Man: Hey. You the guy who called me -- Rex Balsom?
Rex: Vince. Here's the money. You know what to do now, right? All right.

Luna: Listen to your dreams, Max. Darlin', sometimes we see more clearly when our eyes are closed. See, it's at those times that our souls are most open and ready to receive the truths --
[Phone rings]
Luna: That maybe are hidden deep down inside. See, that's when the goddess --
Roxy: I'm up.
Luna: Can reveal --
Roxy: I'm up.
Luna: Herself to us in all her purity and her compassion --
Roxy: All right.
Luna: And goals that we might've even hidden from ourselves.
Roxy: You're better than a sleeping pill, baby.
[Ring]
[Roxy stops videotape]
Roxy: All right, I'm coming.
[Ring]
Roxy: Mrs. Roxanne Holden.
Rex: Give it a rest, Mom. It's me.
Roxy: Rexy?
Rex: Get out your wallet. I need some more money.
Roxy: I already gave you money.
Rex: And I used it for a good cause.
Roxy: Like what, stopping Seth from going to Michigan?
Rex: Well, that I'm not so sure about.
Roxy: Well, what'd you use it for, then?
Rex: So that even if Seth does get to Aunt Corinne’s, she can tell him all she wants about how you never gave birth to Jessica or --
Roxy: Hey, shush!
Rex: It's ok. It won't matter.
Roxy: Why not? Is he going to get lost on the way home?
Rex: No, but Jessica will laugh in his face.
Roxy: Why would she do that?
Rex: Jessica's going to be so mad at Seth, she's not going to listen to a thing he says about anything, even if he tried to tell her that you were a loser alcoholic.
Roxy: Hey.
Rex: It's ok. Whatever. Like I said, no one's going to believe him.
Roxy: Do you really think I'm a loser alcoholic?
Rex: I'll let you know that when I come by for the money.
Roxy: You know, Honey, you're better off up there. You don't have to deal with your lousy kids and all the headaches they give you.
Luna: Darlin', I know how hard it might be to deal with the kids and the headaches they give you.

Lindsay: "Just the beginning"? What's that supposed to mean?
Jen: Nothing. Don't worry about it, ok?
Lindsay: So you're not breaking up with Cristian?
Jen: Nope.
Lindsay: But you're sleeping with Al?
Jen: Mother --
Lindsay: For the last time, tell me what's going on.
Jen: I don't want to talk about it.
Lindsay: Well, that's too bad. You don't have a choice.
Jen: Yeah, I do. I'm an adult now, in case you haven't noticed, and I get to decide whenever I want to talk about something or not. And right now, I don't want to talk about it. So could you please just leave?
Lindsay: You know what, young lady? I don't care how old that you are. I'm still your mother. And I'm not going anywhere until you talk to me. You either tell me what's going on or I'm going to find out in some other way.
Jen: Mom --
Lindsay: And I promise you that I will.
Jen: Ok. Fine. You want to know the truth? I did. I slept with Al.
Lindsay: Oh, Jen.
Jen: Want to know what else? I'm pregnant with Al's baby, and he doesn't have a clue about it.

Cristian: It's the only decision I could come up with with everything being the way it is.
Natalie: What are you doing here?
Al: I was looking for Jessica.
Natalie: So you're just going to hang around outside?
Al: Well, I was about to knock.
Natalie: She's not here.
Al: Oh, well, you know where she is?
Natalie: Probably at school.
Al: Huh. Ok, thanks.
Natalie: Good-bye.
Al: Gosh. Looks like I'm interrupting something important between you and Cristian, huh? Jeez, what are the odds of that, huh?
Cristian: You heard Natalie, Al. Jessica's not here. So what are you still doing here?
Al: That's a good question.
Cristian: So --
Natalie: So --
Cristian: This has been the hardest decision I've ever had to make. I'm going to marry Jen.

Lindsay: So you slept with Al, and now you're pregnant with his baby.
Jen: Yes.
Lindsay: And what about Cristian?
Jen: Cristian thinks it's his.
Lindsay: Oh, Jen.
Jen: What?
Lindsay: You must be going through hell.
Jen: It's ok.
Lindsay: No, it's not ok for you to be living with this kind of secret. This is a terrible mistake.
Jen: It wasn't a mistake.
Lindsay: What do you mean, "it wasn't a mistake"? It's not a mistake that you're pregnant with Al's baby?
Jen: I did it on purpose.
Lindsay: Why?
Jen: Because they hurt me.
Lindsay: Who hurt you?
Jen: Al hurt me because he pretended like he was paralyzed and tried to get me to marry him.
Lindsay: Yeah, but you found out the truth about that. You didn't marry him.
Jen: And Cristian and Natalie fell in love.
Lindsay: They did?
Jen: Yes.
Lindsay: I'm going to kill him. I knew he was going to hurt you.
Jen: Stay out of it!
Lindsay: I missed so much of your life while I was gone for these months, and I know that that's my fault, and I'm sorry that -- I should've been here for you.
Jen: It doesn't matter.
Lindsay: No, I -- it does matter. I'm going to make it up to you by being here for you now.
Jen: Thanks, but that's not really what I want.
Lindsay: So Cristian was unfaithful to you? Jerk.
Lindsay: Did he?
Jen They almost slept together.
Lindsay: But they didn't?
Jen: They might as well have. They did everything else.
Lindsay: Jen, I'm so sorry.
Jen: Don't feel sorry for me because I've come up with the perfect plan to get them all back.

Rae: It's amazing, isn't it, how money makes people so nice. But, then, you would know all about that.
Asa: You two gals -- get out.
Shawna: Fine. We got what we wanted.
Mollie: Actually, we got more than what we wanted.
Shawna: Shall we?
Asa: You gave them more than they wanted?
Rae: Well, I thought it was fair, you know, with all their pain and suffering.
Asa: I'd sure as hell like to give you some pain and suffering, you horse's --
Nigel: Tell me, Sir; was your trip successful?
Asa: Yes, Nigel. Even better than I hoped.
Rae: Ahem.
Nigel: Really? Do tell.
Rae: Yes, Asa, what have you been up to?
Asa: Well, I'll tell you. I was visiting some friends and some business associates who I might've mentioned to you when you were playing a shrink.
Rae: Ah. You mean your partners in crime?
Asa: Oh, bite your lip, lady. Who said anything about crime?
Rae: You did. Remember when you confessed everything in our little session?
Asa: I'm sorry. I don't recall.
Rae: Come on, Asa. What game are you playing now? You know good and well that you confessed to crimes, all the ones that I can go to the police and tell them about, and they would have to put you away for the rest of your life.
Asa: I -- I really don't know what the hell you're talking about. There is nobody -- I mean absolutely nobody -- who could put my name anywhere near any kind of illegal business.
Rae: So you bribed anyone who could corroborate what you told me. Is that what you're saying?
Asa: Well, I'm saying that here is your annulment papers and read them and weep.

Roxy: That had to be a coincidence. It had to be because I haven't had anything to drink.
[Roxy plays videotape]
Luna: Darlin', I know how much you worry, but you are a good father. You are a wonderful father to Al, and you're going to be -- you're going to be a fabulous father to those twins, our little sweet peas.
Roxy: All right, come on. Get to the good stuff. How do I hold on to Max? How do I make him love me like he loved you?
Luna: Darlin', the only thing you gotta do for Al is love him. You know what a special boy he is. He feels things more than most people, but he has more strength than most people, too. He may fall down, he may be hurting, but he's going to bounce back. And you trust him on that one; he will bounce back. Honey, you know he will because he's just like you. He's got a good and caring heart.
Roxy: How am I supposed to imitate you? You're giving me a hypoglycomora attack.
Luna: Darlin', I don't have to throw --
[Roxy stops videotape]
Roxy: All right, spin it again! Yeah, go for the big bucks! Go! Go! Ah, I told you not to spin!
[Roxy turns off TV]
Roxy: Hey, Max.
Max: Working hard, huh?
Roxy: Something wrong?
Max: How could you tell?
Roxy: What is it?
Max: Why would I tell you?
Roxy: Well, maybe I can help.
Max: Oh, you think you can help me with Al?
Roxy: Yeah, sure, I can. You know, I got kids, too, you know.
Max: Oh, yeah, and I've seen the bang-up job you've done with them.
Roxy: Yeah, well, you know, my kids are nothing but useless ingrates. You know, not like Al.
Max: What do you know about Al?
Roxy: Well, Al is -- Al is a special boy. He feels more things than most people.
Max: Why are you saying that?

Natalie: I'm sure Jen was probably thrilled when you told her. She's probably planning the wedding right then and there.
Cristian: Well, I haven't told Jen yet. I wanted to tell you first. I wanted to tell you why.
Natalie: I know why. I knew that you would make this decision.
Cristian: You did?
Natalie: Yeah, I mean, I -- I made the same decision. And I know that it's the right one because we both thought of it.
Cristian: I wish I could still be with you and still raise my kid with Jen.
Natalie: But you can't, Cristian. You know that. I know that. We both know that the most important person through this whole stupid thing is the baby. He needs his mother and his father. He needs both parents to be with him always.
Cristian: I'm sorry, Natalie.
Natalie: Don't be. I'm not. I'm not sorry for anything that we did. I'm not sorry for anything we thought or felt. I'm not sorry for loving you. It's ok. I have no regrets.
Cristian: I do. I regret we never made love.

Jen: Cristian will pay for falling in love with Natalie, and Al will pay for all his lies.
Lindsay: What kind of plan is this?
Jen: Al will never be with me, not ever. And he'll never know he has a child.
Lindsay: Because Cristian thinks that it's his?
Jen: Cristian will marry me and he'll stay with me, and he'll never know that his kid is really Al's.
Lindsay: You do realize that this plan is forever?
Jen: I know. And the best part is Natalie -- that witch -- will never, ever have Cristian. She'll be all alone. So, you see? Everyone gets exactly what they deserve.
Lindsay: Yes, but what about you? Is this what you deserve?

Jessica: Hey, you should give me a number where you're going to be so I can call you.
Seth: Better if I call you. You're easier to track down.
Jessica: Ok. You know, I'd like to meet your family sometime. Next time you go to Pittsburgh, maybe I can come.
Vince: Hey -- are you Seth Anderson?
Seth: Yeah?
Vince: I'm Vince. I'm the guy with the car.
Seth: We were supposed to meet in the parking lot, right?
Vince: Yeah. Well, that's why I came looking for you. I -- slight change of plans. I -- I can't leave as early as I wanted to.
Seth: Hey, no problem. Um, I'll give you a call, then.
Vince: Great. Well, listen, I can tell you right now -- think we can leave about an hour later than I thought.
Seth: Uh, sure. That sounds good. I'll -- I'll see you in the parking lot, then.
Vince: Hey, don't worry, though, ok? We'll still get to Michigan at a decent hour.
Jessica: Michigan? You're going to Michigan?

Asa: Go on, Gretel. What are you waiting for? Sign the damn papers.
Rae: I can’t.
Asa: I was just trying to make it easier for you. I can take you to court, have it done there instead. Matter of fact, that could be a lot of fun.
Rae: No, I don't think so.
Asa: Were you listening, Woman? You don't have a say.
Rae: Oh, yes. Yes, I do. I think we're going to have a long, long, long marriage.
Asa: Hmm. How do you figure?
Rae: I figure this -- when you went off on your little trip, I knew you were probably up to something. So I got your complete itinerary before you left.
Asa: How the --
Nigel: Oh, not me, Sir. No, I assure you.
Rae: Oh, no, no, no, it wasn't Nigel. No. But I did have someone make every one of your stops before you. I mean, I had to pay them. I had to pay them with your money, of course. Asa, look. Look what they sent back.
Asa: What the hell is that?
Rae: Read them and weep, darlin'. Sworn statements, all signed. Eyewitness accounts, corroborating evidence. Absolute proof to back up everything that you told me.
Asa: You faked this. That's what you did. Get on the phone. Call that no-good lawyer of mine, pronto.
Rae: Good, do it. I mean, waste more of your money, just like you did with those people. I mean, I don't know what you paid them, but it was completely useless because I had everything that you paid them not to give me. You see?
Asa: I'm warning you, Gretel --
Rae: You be careful. It's your wife you're talking to. "Till death do us part." Oh, and, by the way, lest you forget, I have also taken precautions about that, too. If I should suddenly have an untimely death, every one of those statements will be sent to authorities in five countries. Ok? Ok. Ah. Oh -- gosh -- I almost forgot. Welcome home, darling.
Nigel: One certainly must admire the woman's thoroughness and attention to detail.
Asa: She's not going to get away with it, Nigel. I've got to get rid of that woman -- for good. Gotta get another plan, another idea.
Nigel: Well, there might be something you could do right now.

Cristian: Yeah, I guess. Here. I want you to have this.
Natalie: Cristian, no. I can’t. I mean, you're always wearing this. It must be so important to you.
Cristian: That's why I want you to have it. I wish I could give you more, Natalie. I want to give you so much more, but I can give you this.
Natalie: Cristian --
Cristian: It's -- it's St. Christopher. He watched over me. Maybe now he can watch over you.
Natalie: Good-bye, Cristian. I'll always love you.
Natalie: What the hell are you doing here?

Jen: What should I do, Mom? Chain Cristian to a wheel and leave him there to die?

Jen: I want them to feel the way I do. I want them to feel as bad as I do.
Lindsay: You're upset. You don't know what you're saying.

Jen: This is exactly what I want. They ruined my life. I was so happy, everything was perfect, and then they took it away from me. It's okay because now I'm going to ruin theirs.
Lindsay: You can't do this!
Jen: Yeah? What are you going to do about it?

Nigel: I consider myself a rather astute judge of human nature, sir, and I'm positive Mrs. Buchanan -- Gretel has more than a soft spot in her heart for our illustrious district attorney.
Asa: He actually likes her?
Nigel: Oh, indeed. He came to ask her for a date, so he must feel the same way.
Asa: Hmm. I always knew he was a glutton for punishment. You're right, Nigel. This is good. Very good.
Asa: Hank Gannon, please? Hank. This is Asa Buchanan. I've got to see you right away. You're damn right it's important.

Roxy: Why do you want to know why I said what I said?
Max: Because -- I wondered if you knew about Al or what he's going through right now.
Roxy: Oh, I don't know anything, Honey. Just know that he's a good kid and that he feels things.
Max: Since when do you know about what people feel?
Roxy: Well, I just know what I see. You know, Al may fall down, he may hurt himself, but he'll bounce back. I mean, trust me, he'll bounce back. Doesn't he always?
Max: You know, that's the first intelligent thing I've ever heard you say. You just might be right.
Roxy: Thank you, Luna.

Jessica: You’re going to Michigan?
