Téa: But I do love you. I have always loved you.

Gabrielle: Bo is going to find this arsonist.

Al: Maybe they'll turn themselves in.

Sam: You're not leaving with one single file.

Rae: Not one file, I swear.

Natalie: I will never tell Jen what happened last night, that we almost slept together.

***********************************************

Ross: Man, this can't be happening.

Todd: I came here to tell you that I want to forget what happened, but I can’t.

Téa: Then why did you deny it, Todd? I said why did you deny it?

Todd: Ok, all right, fine, you're right. You know, I didn't like it. You were acting all happy when Ross came back and, you know, I just figured that you were trying to make a fool out of me.

Téa: Why would you think that?

Todd: I don't know! Because that's what I thought! Really, come on, you need to get over this. It's no big deal.

Téa: Oh, no, it is a big deal. I lived with you and that insane jealousy once. I'll pass.

Todd: Ok, all I'm trying to tell you --

Téa: No, no, no, I'm trying to tell you something. I can't let myself get close to you and have you pull away. No more. Either you let yourself just be with me or nothing really did happen on this island.

***********************************************

Asa: I love this town. Always have and I always will. And when some lying, damn quack moves into my town and starts messing with people's minds and their lives, I kind of get upset. And I would like the people of Llanview to know what a menace to their community -- I got to admit, that performance of mine really grows on you, even if I have to say so myself.

Renee: Grows on who? Did you make a D.V.D. of your TV spectacle?

Asa: That is not a D.V.D. It's the internet. And I want to make sure nobody misses Gretel and Rae’s expose. So I put on a new web site -- gretelisafraud.com.

Renee: You -- you did what?

Asa: Streaming, baby. Streaming. And anyone who signs on can watch it over and over, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

***********************************************

Rae: But there is something I need.

Sam: Rae --

Rae: Oh, relax, Sam. It has nothing to do with me being a therapist. I just want something out of this closet. This door -- it's so stupid -- it always swells in the summer. Come on; give me a hand, please. Please?

***********************************************

Nora: Well, you're right -- Lindsay on the loose is bothering me a heck of a lot more than I was willing to admit back in Llanview.

Troy: Well, you can relax because if no one knows where we are, then there's no way Lindsay can find you.

Nora: I'm just glad that Matthew is with my mother in Chicago. Oh, I'll miss him, but he's going to be so spoiled, he's never going to miss me.

Troy: You see? There you go. So Matthew’s safe and I'm going to keep you safe.

Nora: Thanks.

Troy: So what do you think of the new place, huh? This work for you?

Nora: This is beautiful. I mean, look at this. It's just -- it's beautiful.

Troy: Wait till you see the inside. I checked it out on the internet. Let me tell you, this place looks like the perfect place to just kick back and relax.

Nora: Fabulous.

***********************************************

Al: You wanted to see me?

Bo: Come in.

Bo: Close the door.

Bo: I just have one question for you. Why did you set that fire at the Rappaport house?

Al: I --

Bo: You're supposed to be Jen’s friend.

Al: I am!

Bo: She could've been killed.

Al: Look, it wasn't supposed to go down that way, ok?

Bo: Well, it did. Al Holden, you're under arrest for arson and attempted murder.

Officer: The commissioner will see you now.

Al: You wanted to see me?

Bo: Come in, Al. Close the door. I guess you know why I asked you to come down here.

***********************************************

Jen: I need to feel like there's someone I can still depend on, lean on. Unless there's some reason that you don't want to make love to me right now.

Cristian: Yeah, but now?

Jen: Why not now?

Cristian: Well, I just think that, you know, like I said, there's a lot that's still going on -- the fire, your mom's escape --

Jen: And that's why I want to make love, because I want to be part of something good and pure. I want to know that no matter what else happens that I still have you, we still have each other. Right?

Cristian: Of course we have each other.

Jen: Then I don't understand. Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to make love to me right now?

Jen: Cristian?

Cristian: Maybe there is.

Jen: Is what?

Cristian: Maybe there's something I need to tell you.

***********************************************

Troy: This is ridiculous.

Man: Welcome to paradise. See you found the key. Oh, Edgar T. Snow. We e-mailed.

Troy: Yeah, the pictures you sent me didn't look anything like this dump.

Edgar: Dump?

Troy: Dump.

Edgar: Easy there. I call this rustic charm.

Troy: Yeah, well, I want my deposit back.

Edgar: Fine, but there's not another cabin or campsite within a 50-mile radius.

Nora: You know, maybe if we just straighten the rug and dust it ever so slightly --

Edgar: Now you're talking.

Troy: Fine, then let's renegotiate the price.

Edgar: Checkout time's 11:00 A.M. Or you get charged for an extra day.

Troy: Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, come here, come here. Oh -- here I thought I’d planned this whole thing out so well --

Nora: I know, I know.

Troy: Well, at least we know you'll definitely be safe from Lindsay, right, because there's no way she'll see foot anywhere near a place like this.

Nora: Oh, you know what, it's -- it's not so bad.

Troy: No, no, not at all, not if you're used to living in a garbage can.

Nora: Well -- oh, my word, look at that. It's a twin bed. I haven't slept in a twin bed since I was a teenager.

Troy: Yeah, probably from the local chain store. Thank you for being so great about this.

Nora: Hey, it's an adventure.

Troy: You're the best.

***********************************************

Renee: What did Rae ever do to you?

Asa: Why are you taking her side?

Renee: Because she's a friend.

Asa: She's a con artist. That's what she does. Use your head, woman. Now kick her out of that free room you gave her at The Palace, she'll have nowhere to live, and all the people in Llanview will celebrate.

Renee: Asa, why not show a little compassion?

Asa: Compassion? That phony quack could've killed somebody with her phony psychiatric bull, or worse.

Renee: Ok. You may live to regret this.

Asa: Regret exposing that phony scam queen? Never.

***********************************************

Rae: Sam, what are you doing?

Sam: You can't take anything out of here, Rae.

Rae: Not even a scarf?

Sam: Not even a paper clip.

Rae: Nobody ever has to know about it.

Sam: I'd know and, as an officer of the court, I'd have to report you. Is that what you want?

Rae: No. I should never have come here.

Sam: Good, glad you finally realized that.

Rae: Because I am so through begging, apologizing, and groveling.

Sam: Meaning what?

Rae: Meaning I do have options.

Sam: Rae --

Rae: It's time I fought back!

Rae: Janine, hi. Rae Cummings. Yes, how is the big bad world of publishing treating you these days? Good. No, I'm very happy to hear it. Because I -- I have a book proposal that I know is going to knock your socks off. You do the right marketing, honey, and believe me, this will be a blockbuster.

***********************************************

Jen: I know what you're going to say.

Cristian: You do?

Jen: You're going to say that I shouldn't be avoiding dealing with what's going on with my mom.

Cristian: Well, yeah, I mean, I do think that, but that's not --

Jen: But I don't care. You know, just for a little while, I don't want to think about my mom and her escape. Everything's going to be awful, I mean, the media naming me, the police following me, the ridicule.

Cristian: Yeah, yeah, it is terrible what's going on with your mom. I care about you, Jen. I just -- I just wish there was more I can do.

Jen: You've already done so much. If I didn't have you, I don't know what I'd do. I don't have anybody else.

Cristian: Of course you do.

Jen: No, not really. I mean, my dad's first priority these days is Matthew, and Will's so far away. All I have left is you.

Cristian: Jen, it's going to be ok. We're going to find your mom.

Jen: Yeah, they'll throw her back in prison. Maybe have another trial just to remind people.

Cristian: Hey, come on. Things will get better.

Jen: In 30 years?

Cristian: Look, I know that's how it seems now, but trust me, things will get better. Everything changes.

Jen: Not everything. Not your love for me.

***********************************************

Bo: I've only got a couple of minutes, but I wanted to talk to you about the Rappaport fire.

Al: Well, yeah, sure. What'd you want to know?

Bo: You ok?

Al: Yeah, yeah, sure. Why do you ask?

Bo: You just seemed a little shaky.

Al: Well, I mean, Jen almost lost her life in that fire, so --

Bo: And that's what makes this more than just routine arson case. I was wondering when you rescued Jen if you saw anything that might help us figure out who set it.

Al: You know, even before you called me, I have been racking my brain, trying to remember something, anything, you know? But I was just so concerned with getting Jen out of that building that, honestly, I can't remember anything aside from that. I'm sorry.

Bo: No, no, that's ok. The important thing is that you got her out.

Al: Yeah. Are those Natalie’s keys?

Bo: Mm-hmm. Yeah, forensics said that whoever dropped them was pretty careless.

Al: Yeah? How so?

Bo: Well, they're covered with latent fingerprints.

Al: You found prints, huh?

Bo: Mm-hmm.

Al: Whose?

Bo: Well, we haven't I.D.'d them yet, but we know they're not Natalie’s.

Al: Wait, are you kidding me? You're telling me that somebody went into Jen’s house and left Natalie’s keys?

Bo: That's what it looks like.

Al: Well, what kind of sick person would do something like that? Burn Jen’s house down and try to set Natalie up for it? Who would do that?

Bo: That's exactly what I want to find out.

Al: I'm telling you, when I get my hands on him -- or her, whoever --

Gabrielle: Am I interrupting? Oh, sorry.

Bo: What's up?

Gabrielle: Oh, lunch, dinner, breakfast. I know you don't eat very well when you're on a case, so you can name it when you eat it. You just have to eat it, roomie's orders.

Bo: Thank you.

Gabrielle: So how is my son the hero doing?

Bo: You know, I was -- I was hoping that when Al pulled Jen out of that fire maybe he noticed something that could lead us to the arsonist.

Gabrielle: Oh. Yeah.

Al: You know, maybe Jen wasn't the intended victim. Maybe it was Mr. Rappaport. I mean, Jen doesn't live in that house anymore. It was a total fluke that she happened to be there that night.

Bo: I'm not aware of Sam having any enemies.

Al: Well, he told Jen that, uh, it may have been one of his disgruntled ex-clients.

Bo: You know, Sam doesn't lose many cases.

Al: What about Todd Manning?

Bo: What about him?

Al: Well, Todd was pretty upset with Mr. Rappaport for breaking up his marriage, right?

Bo: Is that true?

Gabrielle: I'm not sure.

Al: Well, I may be confused, but I thought you told me that Todd was furious with -- with Mr. Rappaport for making him lose his wife. Didn't you say that? I thought you said that.

Officer: Commissioner?

Bo: Yeah?

Officer: Warden Pierce is here about the Rappaport-Perkins case.

Bo: Ok, thanks, thanks. Excuse me. This will just take a minute.

Al: Oh, take your time, really.

Bo: Ok.

Al: What?

Gabrielle: What do you mean, "what"? I never told you that Todd was upset with Sam for losing Blair.

Al: Sure you did.

Gabrielle: No. Oh, no, I didn't. That is a bold-faced lie and you know it.

***********************************************

Todd: Delgado, you know that I’m not going to change and you also know that it makes me crazy when I see you around other guys like that, and I don't know why you've got to act that way around Ross!

Téa: Todd, the man had survived a shipwreck!

Todd: You had your hands all over him!

Téa: I was hugging him! That is no reason for you to pretend that nothing happened between us. You have got to get over this jealousy thing of yours. You just have to, Todd.

Todd: Maybe I'll just kill him. Then I’ll get over it.

Téa: Oh, ha-ha-ha. What, that's supposed to be funny?

Todd: I don't know, is it?

Téa: No, it's not. Ross is the only person who can get us off this island.

Todd: Ok, well, I won't kill him right away. Maybe I'll kill him a little bit.

Téa: I want to get my life back, Todd. I really want to get back to my life -- the one that doesn't have you in it, the one I made after I left you. I was happy, Todd. I was happy. I didn't have my guard up all the time; I didn't have to pretend that I didn't care.

Todd: You were bored and lonely.

Téa: Yeah, I was lonely, but I was happy -- very, very happy.

Todd: I don't think so.

Téa: Well, think again. I'm going to get back to that life, Todd. Ross is going to see to it.

Todd: And what about me? You just going to leave me here?

***********************************************

Cristian: Jen, hold on a second.

Jen: Why? I don't want to talk anymore.

Cristian: It's just that --

Jen: I don't want to think about all the awful things that have been going on. I want to make love with you. Please don't make me beg.

Cristian: I'm not. It's just that --

Jen: If you care about me at all --

Cristian: Of course I care about you.

Jen: Then kiss me.

Jen: This isn't going to work, and we both know why.

***********************************************

Allison: That was way too close! What is going on here, anyway?

Lindsay: Who knows? I didn't think I would ever see Sam again, not until we were both very old.

Allison: Oh, would you stop your whining? We got to get out of here. It's a long drive to Canada.

Lindsay: You're ready to go?

Allison: Yeah. This place is getting like grand central station. We got to go before we still can.

***********************************************

Nora: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Oh!

Troy: I'll clean up.

Nora: Oh, you know what we need?

Troy: Yeah, a maid, that's what we need.

Nora: Nancy Drew.

Troy: I didn't know Nancy Drew was a maid. Here I thought she was a detective.

Nora: She was a detective and her father was a lawyer.

Troy: Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, Emily used to read these books when she was a kid.

Nora: Oh, look. Oh, Nancy Drew made you -- made you -- it made you want to help people. Nancy Drew made me want to make a difference. Nancy Drew taught me that if you just follow the clues, you can solve any mystery. That's how I solved the mystery of Dr. Troy MacIver and why he's still available.

Troy: Did you now?

Nora: I certainly did. It was actually simple, my dear sir. You just hadn't met the right woman.

***********************************************

Téa: Oh, is that what this is about? You came to tell me you couldn't forget what happened between us because you're afraid Ross and I are going to leave you here.

Todd: That's stupid.

Téa: Oh, really? Since when have you been the one to make the first move, Todd?

Todd: I don't know, you're the one who says I've got to go and change.

Téa: You were pretending!

Todd: Look, maybe I was a little scared that you and pretty boy were going to take off and leave me here all alone.

Téa: So you lied, you lied.

Todd: Oh, lied? You know what, never mind, I don't care! This is too much! I can't deal with this anymore! You -- you take way too much energy, Delgado. You make me work way too hard, and I used to think, you know, when we were together or whatever that that was interesting somehow, but, really, you're just a big pain. I got to go.

Téa: Oh, no. You want to leave this island with me and Ross, you get to work.

Todd: Doing what?

Téa: Making rope. Here.

Todd: Yeah, that's me, Todd the weaver.

Téa: Listen, if I can do it, you can do it.

Todd: I don't know how.

Téa: You run a newspaper. You can make a computer stand up and spit raisins. Hell, you got me to get back involved with you. You can do anything you put your mind to. Go for it.
***********************************************

Bo: I'm sorry. Everybody's pretty tense about that prison break.

Gabrielle: Hmm.

Bo: Yeah, we're up to here in work, but I don't want you to worry, ok, because the Rappaport fire's going to get a thorough investigation.

Al: Good.

Bo: We will find that arsonist. So, Todd Manning, huh? Ok, I'm going to check that out, and I'm also going to get a list of Sam Rappaport’s clients.

Al: Great.

Bo: And I'm not ruling out Allison Perkins.

Al: Yeah, good thought. You know, I mean, she hates Natalie enough to set her up for something.

Bo: Yeah, it may not be a coincidence that that fire broke out the same night that she and Lindsay escaped from Statesville.

Al: Maybe not.

***********************************************

Jen: We both know exactly why this isn't going to work.

Cristian: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, maybe you're right.

Jen: No, you're right. I shouldn't use sex as a way to forget about what I’m dealing with with my mom. You know, my whole life everything she's said and done to me has been a manipulation, a lie. You know, it's always been wrapped up in a whole story about how much she loves me and how everything she does is for the love of her kids.

Cristian: Well, maybe she really believes that.

Jen: Doesn't make it true. You're the one person I believe really cares about other people. That's why I love you so much, because you're everything she's not. You would never lie to me or manipulate me or do horrible things behind my back.

Cristian: Jen, look, I -- I’d never want to hurt you. That's why I really have to you something.

Jen: You know, I shouldn't have doubted you and Natalie. But it's just my mother's conditioned me not to trust. But I want to change, starting right now. I'm going to make it up to you and Natalie.

Cristian: You have nothing to make up.

Jen: Yes, I do. I'm going to invite Natalie over.

Cristian: Wait a minute, now?

Jen: Yeah, she's been through so much. She should be with friends right now. You know, I mean, she needs to be with us; me and, more importantly, you.

Cristian: Jen, I don't this is a very good time for you to invite Natalie over.

Jen: Why not? We both have missing mothers. It's perfect. We have something we share. Unless -- you're still friends, right? I mean, did something happen? You still like her, right?

[Knock on door]

Jen: Maybe that's her. Al.

Al: Hey, I’m really sorry to bother you guys, but I just wanted to let you know that I just got done talking to Comm. Buchanan about the fire.

Jen: Do they know who started it?

Al: No, they don't, but they're launching a complete investigation.

Jen: Great. Thanks. I mean, I still don't understand how Natalie’s keys ended up there if she wasn't there.

Al: Yeah, me, neither, but, I mean, she couldn't have dropped them, right, because she was with you, right, Cristian?

Cristian: Yeah, yeah, right.

Al: Well, I guess the important thing is that you didn't get hurt.

Jen: Right. I would ask you to stay, but --

Al: Oh, no, that's fine. I understand. Quality time thing, right?

Jen: No, no, no, actually, we're inviting Natalie over.

Al: Here? Why?

Jen: So the three of us can just sort of sort through all the terrible things that have been happening lately.

Cristian: You know what, Jen; I just remembered my mom wanted to talk to me about something, so I'm going to go to the diner.

Jen: Ok, hurry back.

Cristian: Ok.

Al: So, are you really ok with Natalie coming over here?

Jen: Yeah, it was my idea.

Al: Why? I don't understand. I thought that you hated her.

***********************************************

Lindsay: Look. Look at them. What do you think they're laughing at?

Allison: A joke, probably.

Lindsay: Yeah. And the joke was me. Because I was falling in love with him, according to their plan. And even when he proposed to me, it wasn't because he was in love with me, it was because he was in love with her. And then he set out to destroy my life for her. And that's why they're laughing -- about destroying my life. About breaking my heart. About sending me to prison.

Allison: You don't need to look at this any more. Now just take a couple of minutes to pull yourself together. Then I’m going to go down to the basement and make sure that we didn't leave any clues that we were here. Ok? And then it's off to the rustic north.

***********************************************

Troy: I love you.

Nora: Hmm, I love you. I'm a lucky woman.

Troy: You're lucky? Why's that?

Nora: Because I turned out to be the right woman for you, Dr. MacIver.

***********************************************

Asa: I was wondering what your magazine charges for a full-page, four-color ad for my new web site, gretelisafraud.com. I'll get back to you. How'd you get in? I told Nigel to nail that doggie door down shut.

Rae: You know, Asa, your insults don't work on me anymore.

Asa: I want to tell you something; my web site got 5,000 hits.

Rae: Hmm.

Asa: You know, you just may be starting my next fortune.

Rae: Well, I don't really care about the web site. I don't even care about that so-called news expose that you paid WVLE to air.

Asa: Highest ratings they ever had. Guess what -- they're thinking of doing a weekly series -- "good therapists gone bad."

Rae: Very clever, Asa. But, then, you've always been clever. That's why I know you're going to appreciate the clever plan I’ve come up with to pay all my legal bills.

Asa: A bake sale?

Rae: A tell-all book.

Asa: Don't waste your time. All the details of your phony life will be on my web site for everybody to see for free.

Rae: Yes, yes, I know that, so that's why I'm not going to write a book about me. I'm going to write about you -- all about you.

***********************************************

Todd: You always did get the best of me, Delgado. Every time.

Téa: I can't do this. Not again. I just can't.

Todd: Delgado, that you?

Todd: Téa! Hey!

***********************************************

Rae: "Rae Cummings tells all about her most famous patient."

Asa: You mean that stuff from the therapy sessions? It's your word against mine. I'll leave it to a judge.

Rae: You know, I think you might be missing a very important part of this little puzzle. You see, I record all my sessions.

Asa: Hmm.

Rae: For future reference, of course. You see?

Asa: So what?

Rae: Well, I'm sure you remember the day that you sat there and told me all about those disgusting things you've done -- for shock value, of course.

Asa: You can't use that. It's the doctor-client confidentiality.

Rae: Mm-hmm. Yeah, well, it was back then. But since you've spent all your time showing the world that I’m not a doctor, you see, those rules, they don't apply to me anymore.

Asa: Oh, yes, Gretel. Yes, they do.

Rae: You know what, Asa? You just can't have it both ways. No, this is going to be the biggest, most sensational, scandal-mongering best seller of all time. "Asa Buchanan, in his own words."

Asa's voice: And so I left him there for the vultures. That's how I got my first 10 grand.

[Tape winds]

Asa’s voice: Threatening women and children isn't something I do anymore, but a man's got to do what a man's got to do.

[Tape winds]

Asa’s voice: And those fancy corporate suits never could figure out where that money went or where their original investors had gone. Hmm, they're still looking.

***********************************************

Al: You were totally freaked about Natalie and Cristian seeing each other at all. Now, what, you want to be her best friend?

Jen: Well, I know the truth now. Natalie just needed Cristian’s help.

Al: You don't really believe that?

Jen: Nothing's happening between them. End of story, ok? Can we just stop talking about it now?

Al: Yeah, sure, as soon as you explain the complete, total 180 you just spun.

Jen: Trust me, I know exactly what I’m doing.

***********************************************

Bo: Hi.

Gabrielle: Oh. I slipped in through the back.

Bo: Ok, well, you know what, I haven't eaten yet, but I will. I promise I will.

Gabrielle: I didn't come to check up on you. I just realized that when I dropped off the food that, well, you might want or need a change of clothes because I don't believe you're probably going to come home until you've cracked these cases.

Bo: Oh, man. Am I really that predictable?

Gabrielle: Predictable? No. Dedicated? Yes. You're busy. So if you need anything from the house, you just call.

Bo: Ok. Gabrielle? Thank you.

Gabrielle: It's been a bit lonely around the apartment without you. You take care.

***********************************************

Allison: Roxy, come on, wake up.

Roxy: What?

Allison: How the hell did you get all the way over here?

Roxy: What? Alli?

Allison: You've been a busy little bee, haven't you?

Roxy: Viki Davidson’s in that trunk.

Allison: Really?

Roxy: What did you do to her?

***********************************************

Woman's voice: Troy? Is that you?

Troy's voice: Yes, it's me.

Troy: No. No. No. No. No.

Troy's voice: Damn it, Joanna, you're my wife. This has to stop! It's got to stop!

Troy: Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop!

Nora: It's ok. It's ok. It's ok. She's not here. She's not here.

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "One Life to Live."

***********************************************

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Nora: Are we talking about Lindsay or is something else going on?

Ross: I do hope there's a chance for us.

Roxy: He just wants a divorce, and I know that he's willing to pay big bucks.

Asa: You cannot use that tape.

Rae: Watch me.
