One Life to Live Transcript Tuesday 7/2/02 By Linda >> Previously on "One Life to Live" -- Emily: You, the master of web porn? I don't think so. Why would they think that? Chad: Because it was true. Ben: You're not Viki. You're Niki Smith. Jessica: Oh, my God! Niki: This is definitely bad. [Natalie screams] *********************************************** Natalie: I don't remember. I don't remember why I was in the room. I don't even remember going into the room. All I remember was walking to the window, looking out, and seeing Ben lying there. You guys, you got to believe me! Jessica: I'll tell you what I believe -- Rex: Hey, hey, hey -- Jessica, she's telling the truth. She was a total basket case when I got up there. Jessica: Really? That's the least she's going to be. Rex: Just calm down. When Ben comes to, he'll be able to tell us exactly what happened. Niki: [As Viki] If he comes to. Jessica: Mom -- Mom, don't think like that. Niki: No, I don't want to, but I have to, don't I? I mean, look at the fall he took! Look at him. My poor Ben. Look at him! Jessica: I know, I know, but the E.M.S. guys are working on him. He's going to be fine, ok? I promise you. I promise you he's going to be -- Paramedic: Start C.P.R. We're losing him. Second paramedic: Monitor shows v-fib. Let's shock him. First paramedic: Is there a pulse? Second paramedic: No pulse. Everybody back! *********************************************** Seth: Was I wrong not to tell Jessica what I knew? I mean, Rex is her brother. They're just getting to know each other. Why would I hurt her like that if I didn't have to? I thought I was doing the right thing -- you know, keeping the fact that he lied to her a secret, at least until I was sure what he was up to. Cristian: Can you give me a spot here, Man? Seth: I mean, you wouldn't, you know, tell Jen something that might hurt her unnecessarily, right? Seth: Is something wrong? Too heavy? Cristian: No. No, I'm fine. Chad: Very impressive. Very impressive. Cristian: What are you working today? Chad: Abs. Cristian: Abs? Chad: Oh! Cristian: Very good. Chad: Hey, Cris, can I ask you a question? Cristian: Sure. What? Chad: Do you still hold a grudge against me for that whole, like, hottiebaresall web site thing? Cristian: Honestly? Chad: Yeah, yeah, I just have to know. Cristian: I don't know about a grudge, but I wouldn't trust you as far as I can throw you. *********************************************** Troy: Hey, I'm going to jump in the shower. Emily: I should go up to my own place. Troy: No, no, stick around. Emily: You sure? Troy: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Nora's on her way over. She's going to give me a ride to the hospital. You can let her in for me. Emily: What am I, the downstairs maid? Troy: Well, you can't be. You live upstairs. [Knock on door] Nora: Emily. I wasn't expecting to see you. Emily: Troy's running a little late. He's in the shower. Nora: Oh. Men. Emily: Exactly. Can I get you anything while you wait? Nora: What you got? Emily: I got some cheese, apples -- Nora: Oh. Emily: Protein bars. Nora: Ok. Well, whatever. So, how's it going? How's school? Emily: It's great. Nora: Yeah? You adjusting to life in Llanview? Emily: Yeah. I like it. Nora: Oh. Emily: At least, for the most part. Nora: Troy said you met someone of the male persuasion. Emily: Chad. Nora: Chad? How's Chad? Emily: I'm not really sure. Nora: What's going on? Emily: It's -- it's a little complicated. Nora: I'm a lawyer -- I love complicated. Emily: Well, he seemed really cool at first. Well, actually, we had this big mix-up, and we straightened it out, and then he seemed really cool. Nora: Well, so far, so good. You went past the mix-up. That means you're communicating. Emily: Well, maybe a little too well. I heard this story about him, about something that he did. And so I told him about it. I thought it was just a joke, but then he confirmed it. Nora: I gather it was a bad thing? Emily: Yeah. Really bad, and now I -- I don't know. I'm -- I'm just -- I'm confused. Do you believe in giving people second chances? *********************************************** Sam: Hey, excuse me. Have you seen Dr. Davidson? Nurse: Sorry, I haven't. Sam: Thanks anyway. Ben, where are you? Bo: Sam? Sam: Hey. Bo: How's it going? Sam: It's going good. Listen, I got a message from Ben and it sounded kind of important, but I can't find him anywhere. You haven't seen him, have you? Bo: No. Did he say what it was about? Sam: No, but there was -- there was something in his voice. I'm a little worried. Bo: Hmm. Could it have been about Viki? *********************************************** Paramedic: Does he have a pulse? Second paramedic: No pulse. Everybody back! Clear! Natalie: You've got to save him. Please save him! Niki: [As Viki] I'm afraid it's too late. I'm right, aren't I? You've lost him. *********************************************** Chad: Wow. Isn't that a little extreme? Cristian: You think so? Then why did you ask? Chad: Because I thought we'd gotten past what I'd done. Cristian: What you'd done? Ok, let's see, what's that? Breaking into my apartment and planting hidden cameras in my bedroom, in my shower, and broadcasting me naked on a web site called hottiebaresall.com, and making it look like I did it to make money. Is that what you're talking about? Seth: Chad, that was pretty low. Chad: Cristian and I weren't friends then, Seth. Ok, we barely knew each other. And I didn't do it to hurt you, Cristian. I mean, I was broke and I just needed the cash. Cristian: And that's supposed to make it all right, Chad? Chad: No, but -- Seth: Grudge works for me. There's no way I would have forgiven you. Chad: Well, you know what? I'm not asking you to. This doesn't involve you. I'm talking to Cristian. If you haven't forgiven me, then why did you hire me back at Break Bar, man? Why do we hang out after work sometimes? Cristian: Well, I let you keep your job because you're a good bartender, and I hang out with you because -- I don't know -- you're not a bad guy. Seth: For a porn master. Cristian: And, yeah -- yeah, I have forgiven you, Man. Seth: But there's a big difference between forgiving someone and trusting them. Chad: Are you seriously in this conversation? This is between Cristian and me. Butt out, Man! Cristian: Look, Chad, you know, this whole web site thing -- that's history, Man. Forget about that. But Seth has got a point. You know, forgiving someone is one thing and trusting someone is another, and I don't know if I can trust you. Chad: Well, hey, that's perfect, dude. Cristian: Why do you care so much if I trust you or not? Chad: It isn't about you so much; it's about this girl I met. Cristian: Oh. Oh, you mean the girl you had lunch with? Chad: Shawna and Mollie thought it was their duty to tell her about that web site. Now I'm just not so sure she's ever going to speak to me again. *********************************************** Nora: Of course I believe in second chances. I was responsible for your brother's death. Thank God for second chances. Emily: So then you think I should give Chad one? Nora: That's your decision, Emily. Emily: But you -- you think everyone deserves one? Nora: Well, it depends on how bad the mistake is. Some mistakes are worse than others. Emily: Yeah. Nora: Hey, I should know. Emily: You mean -- you mean because of Colin. Nora: Oh, did I say that out loud? Emily: Yes, you did. Nora: No, I actually wasn't referring to anything to do with Colin. I was actually referring to other things I've done in my life that I regret and that people haven't been able to forgive me for, so -- Emily: What sort of things? Nora: I'd rather not say. Emily: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so nosy. Nora: No, no, no, it's not that. It's just that it's still a little on the painful side, you know? At the time, I didn't understand why the party was so adamant. And then I, you know, took a little time and thought about it and thought about it from my side and from his side, and I guess there are mistakes that are unforgivable. Troy: How can you say that? *********************************************** Sam: Is it about Viki? Why would you say that? Bo: So Ben hasn't said anything to you? Sam: About what? Look, Bo, I'm worried about my brother. If you know something, I need you to tell me what it is. Bo: I think that it would be better if you talked to Ben about this yourself. Sam: That's what I've been trying to do, but I can't find him anywhere. He doesn't pick up his cell phone. He's not at the clinic. He doesn't answer over at Llanfair. What's going on, Bo? Bo: Look, I don't know where Ben is, but I talked to Viki and she told me a few things in confidence. Sam: Yeah? What things? Bo: Ben and Viki are having marital problems right now. Sam: What? Bo: Well, maybe that's what he wanted to talk to you about. Sam: What kind of marital problems? Bo: I don't think that's up to me to say. Sam: Look, he's my brother, Bo. Bo: Well, you know, he's mine, too, and I think that he has to learn to control his anger. Sam: What are you talking about? Bo: I'm talking about his temper. Sam: Is this what Viki talked to you about? Bo: No, no, never mind Viki. I've seen him myself. You know, he's been losing his temper a lot lately. Sam: With whom? Bo: Allison Perkins, for one. Sam: Allison Perkins? That nut? She threatened his wife's life! Who else? Who else has Ben lost his temper with? Is this about Viki? Are you telling me he tried to hurt Viki? *********************************************** Niki: [As Viki] He's -- he's dead, isn't he? My poor Ben -- Paramedic: He's alive. Jessica: Thank God! Niki: Thank God? Yes. Paramedic: Come on, we've got to get him to a hospital. One of you can ride in the ambulance. Niki: Oh, yes, I'm his wife, so I'll come. Jessica: Ok. Come on, Rex, let's go get my car. We'll follow you, Mom. Rex: What about Natalie? Jessica: What about Natalie? She's the reason we're here. Rex: We don't know that for sure. Jessica: I'm not taking any chances. Rex: I'll see you later, Natalie. Natalie: Viki, wait. Niki: What? Natalie: What should I do? Niki: Well, I think you should stay here. Natalie: But I want to help. Niki: Yeah, well, you've done enough already. I'm coming! *********************************************** Cristian: I'm sorry that Mollie and Shawna messed with your relationship. Someone ought to drop those two down a well somewhere. Chad: It wasn't even like it was a relationship, though. It was just a date. Cristian: Yeah, but I know what it's like, Man. I mean, they tried to mess with Jen, and me too. Chad: Yeah, but you and Jen are solid, Man. Nothing's going to break you guys up. Cristian: Yeah, yeah, those two are a piece of work. Chad: You said it. Cristian: Look, I got to get going. I'll see you. Seth: Come on, we got one more set. Cristian: I'm done. I have plans with Jen. Seth: All right, I got to meet up with Jessica anyway. Let's get out of here. Cristian: Hey, I hope things work out, all right? Good luck. Chad: What do you care? You don't even trust me. Cristian: That doesn't mean you're not entitled to a life. Seth: Is everything ok? Cristian: Yeah. Yeah. Why? Seth: I don't know. When Jen's name came up, you got a little weird. You guys aren't having problems, are you? Cristian: No, no, man. We're -- we're golden. Seth: Well, one out of three couples isn't bad. *********************************************** Nora: How long have you been standing there? Troy: Long enough to hear you tell Emily that you shouldn't forgive people for their past mistakes. Nora: That's not what I was saying at all. Troy: Well, that's what it sounded like from here. Emily: Troy, you only heard half the conversation. Emily: You know what? I think I'm going to go upstairs -- Troy: No. No. Stick around. Emily: It sounds like you two should talk. Troy: Yeah. You know what? Maybe you're right. Why don't you give us a few minutes. Emily: Talk away. Troy: But I want you to come back because I want to see you before I leave. Emily: Deal. Nora: Did I miss something? I mean, you seem upset. Troy: No, Nora, it's just that I'd like to believe that forgiveness is always possible. Nora: Well, so do I -- hypothetically. But in real life it doesn't always work out that way -- much as we'd like it to work out that way -- and that's exactly what I was explaining to Emily when you walked in. Troy: Why? Nora: Why? Troy: Why? Why doesn't it always work out that way in real life? Nora: Ok. I have a feeling we're not talking about what Emily and I were discussing anymore. Troy: No, Nora. This is about you and me. *********************************************** Bo: No, he hasn't tried to hurt Viki. Not as far as I know. But when I talked to Viki, she told me that they were going to couples counseling together with Rae Cummings. Sam: Couples counseling? That really is serious. Bo: Seems that way. Sam: Well, at least they picked a good therapist. But why wouldn't he tell me about this? Bo: Maybe that's what the call was all about. Sam: Maybe. I mean, he did mention that -- all the pressure that Viki's been under because of Natalie. Is that what -- is that part of this? Bo: It's possible. I don't know. Natalie's a handful, but Viki didn't mention that. Sam: Man, I don't understand. Ben and I talk about everything. This doesn't make sense. Bo: All right, but let's not make more of this than it really is. The good news is that Ben and Viki -- they're working to put things back together. Paramedic: Traumatic arrest. We need a doctor. Larry: Right here. Sam: Hey, what's going on? Bo: What happened? Niki: [As Viki] Oh, Sam, Bo. It was just awful. I got back from shopping, and -- and Ben was lying on the terrace unconscious with glass all around him. Jessica seems to think that Natalie pushed him out of our bedroom window. *********************************************** [Glass breaks] Rex's voice: I need you to remember what happened between you and Ben. Natalie's voice: In here? Rex's voice: Yes, before he went out the window. What happened? Natalie's voice: I was in here with Ben? Rex's voice: You've got to remember. Natalie's voice: I don't, Rex. I don't remember anything. Jessica's voice: What did you do to him? Natalie's voice: I don't know what you mean. Jessica's voice: You pushed him, didn't you? Didn't you? [Glass breaks] Cristian: Hello? Is anyone here? Natalie? Cristian: What happened, Natalie? I just saw the ambulance leave. Where's all this glass from? Natalie: It was horrible, Cristian. Ben was lying over there and he wasn't moving, he wouldn't wake up. And Jessica -- she was yelling at me. They -- they took him off to the hospital. Cristian: Did Ben fall? Is that what happened? Natalie: I don't know. Cristian: Didn't you see it? Natalie: I don't remember anything. Cristian: Natalie, what do you mean, you don't remember? Natalie: Jessica thinks that I pushed him. Cristian: What? But you didn't, did you? I mean, you couldn't -- Natalie: I don't know. I don't know. One minute I was sleeping, and the next thing I know I was in Viki and Ben's room and I was looking out the window and I saw Ben lying there. God, Cristian, what am I going to do? Cristian: Well, first thing we're going to do is we're going to get you away from all of this glass. You don't want to be getting all cut up Ok? Natalie: Ok. Cristian: Come on, everything's going to be ok. Natalie: What are you doing? Cristian: I'm going to take you up to your room so you can get some rest. Come on. *********************************************** Nora: I think I know what this is about. I think I know what's going on. Troy: Do you? Nora: You don't think I can forgive you for sleeping with Lindsay. Or for anything else that you did to get her to confess. That's it, isn't it? Troy: Nora, I did some pretty bad things. Nora: Yes, you did. And I did some pretty bad things, too. Lindsay does have a way of bringing that out in us, doesn't she? But I've also done other things in my life that I regret to people who are never going to be able to forgive me, and that's what I was discussing with Emily. As far as Lindsay goes, I crossed the line. Troy: Yeah, I guess we both did. Nora: Well, at least our intended motives were understandable. We were after justice and we were after truth. Troy: Yeah, but, Nora, you weren't real happy seeing that side of me. Nora: Troy, I was less happy seeing that side of me. Troy: I don't know. I don't know. I just -- I thought we talked all this through already. Nora: Yeah. Yeah, so did I, as a matter of fact. And I don't understand why you're still worried about it. I thought this was behind us. Troy: Yeah, I just wasn't sure that you could get over it. Nora: Oh. Hmm. You know what? Those things, those terrible things? They were all forgivable. So I feel like I owe you a fair warning, Dr. MacIver. You're going to have to do a lot more and a lot worse than all of that so that I don't ever forgive you. *********************************************** Bo: Jessica said that? Niki: [As Viki] Yes, but obviously it's absurd. I mean, it has to be absurd. Natalie would never hurt Ben. Well, I mean, not intentionally, she wouldn't do it. It has to have been an accident, whatever happened. Just a terrible, terrible accident. Sam: Larry, how is he? Larry: Not good. He sustained serious injuries, possible fractures. There could be some blunt trauma to the head. Sam: But he's going to make it, right? Larry: I don't know. There's also possible internal injuries, bleeding. I won't know till I take a look. Niki: Is he going to die? Larry: Viki, I'm not going to lie to you. It doesn't look good. I've got to get back inside. Sam: I want to see him. Larry: No, no. Not now, not now. Niki: Oh, Bo, I don't know what I'm going to do. I mean, I know we've had our problems, but -- oh, my God. I love him so much. I don't want him to die. Sam: He'll survive this. He survived growing up, he'll survive this. Bo: He's got Buchanan genes, too. It's got to mean something. Niki: I know. All those things I told you about -- they seem so unimportant now. I mean, Ben -- Ben is everything to me. Well, Ben and, of course, my children. Bo: I know. Niki: Has Jessica gotten here yet? Bo: No, I haven't seen her. Niki: Oh. She and Rex were going to follow the ambulance in her car. Bo: What about Natalie? Niki: Natalie? Bo: Mm-hmm. Niki: No, no, Natalie was much too upset to come here. Sam: He's going to make it. He's going to make it. He's tough. He'll pull through this. Jessica: Bo, hey, how is he? Is he -- Bo: He's -- your Uncle Larry is in there with him right now, and Larry's doing everything he can. Jessica: What does that mean? Bo: That means that we have to wait and see and pray. Rex: He's going to be ok, Jess. Bo: Listen, I know this is a tough time, but I have to ask you something. Jessica: Yeah. What? Bo: Do you know how Ben fell through that window? Did Natalie have anything to do with it? *********************************************** Cristian: Hey, everything's going to be ok, Nat. Natalie: What if it isn't? Mean, what if Jessica was right? What if I did push Ben out that window? Cristian: It doesn't make any sense. You can't believe that. I don't. Natalie: I don't want to, but -- Cristian: Look, just try thinking. Try thinking hard and just tell me everything that you can remember. Natalie: Ok. I remember that stuff with Jen and how she accused me of running away from her and pushing her into the garden shed, which I didn't do -- or at least I don't remember doing it. Cristian: Right. I know about that. Forget that. What happened next? Natalie: I came up here. Cristian: And I followed you and we talked about D.I.D. and the multiple personality thing and that you were spooked. Natalie: Yeah. Cristian: And you thought maybe you might have it. Natalie: And then Jen called, and I told her -- I told you to go to her. Cristian: And what happened next? Natalie: Well, I had my laptop out and I was writing in my journal. I wrote some stuff about you and how much you'd helped. And I remember feeling really tired, so I decided to lie down and rest. Cristian: So you fell asleep. Natalie: I don't know. I mean, I remember feeling lightheaded. So I guess I must have, but -- then there was all this broken glass and the shouting, and I was in Ben and Viki's room. And I remember walking over to the window, and it was broken, and I looked out and I saw Ben lying down there. I did it, Cristian. I did it. Cristian: Natalie -- Natalie: I mean, I must have blocked it. Cristian: Natalie, that's ridiculous. How could you have pushed Ben through that window? You know, even if you could physically, what possible reason would you have to do that? Natalie: I don't know. What is it? What are you looking at? Natalie: Oh, no. Oh, no. *********************************************** Emily: Sorry. I left my books. Troy: No, it's ok. Everything's fine. Emily: You sure? Nora: Positive. Oh, you know what? We got to get going or I'll be late taking that deposition at the hospital. Troy: Actually, why don't you go ahead without me because I want to talk to Emily for a couple of minutes. Nora: You had me drive all the way over here to pick you up to take you the hospital, and now you're sending me off by myself? Troy: I know, I'm the worst. You know what? My middle name should be "inconsiderate." Nora: Men. See you later. Bye. Emily: Thanks so much. Nora: Anytime. Emily: What went down before, about forgiveness, you were feeling guilty about Joanna, weren't you? Troy: Yeah. How could you tell? Emily: Because I know you. You don't hide it very well, troy. It's those MacIver eyes. Have you told Nora? Troy: I just -- I couldn't. Emily: What happened with Joanna -- that wasn't your fault. Troy: You don't think so, huh? Emily: I know so. What? I haven't heard the whole story? You know, frankly, it doesn't matter if I've heard the whole story because I know you. Troy: And you think I deserve a second chance? Emily: Absolutely. I think everybody does. Troy: I'm going to go head on down to the hospital. There's a patient there that I'm a little worried about. Emily: I'll just get my books and I'll lock up. Troy: Hey, Em -- thank you for everything. Emily: Chad. *********************************************** Natalie: I did not write that. Cristian: Are you sure? Natalie: Positive. At least I don't remember writing it. I mean, I remember this first stuff about you, but not any of that other stuff. Cristian: Ok, then maybe somebody else wrote it, maybe while you were asleep? Natalie: No! Don't you see? It means I did it. It explains everything, all these memory lapses and how I don't remember anything, like the red sweat suit being in the trunk and buying all those clothes from the silver moon boutique, the stuff with Jen. Now this? I must have some split personality thing, just like Viki. Cristian: Natalie, but you said yourself it wasn't hereditary, that -- that it had to be, you know, from a really bad childhood or something. Natalie: Yeah, well, being raised by Roxy qualifies, believe me. Cristian: I don't see how. I mean, I thought it had to do with sexual abuse or -- Natalie: that’s what Rae said, but I mean, this is the only explanation. I have this other person running around in my head and taking over my body. Just -- she's the one who wrote this. She's the one who pushed Ben out the window! *********************************************** Jessica: Right after Ben landed on the terrace, we saw Natalie in the window. Rex: Hey, it wasn't right after. I mean, I called the ambulance first. Jessica: Ok, so it was a little while after. Bo: So it's possible that Natalie came into the room after Ben fell? Jessica: Possible but not likely. Bo: Why not? Jessica: Because I saw her in the window before he fell, too. Bo: Right before? Rex: No, it was a while before. Jessica: No, just a little while before because I was on the phone with my mom. Rex: But that doesn't prove anything. I mean, Natalie could have gone in and out of there a dozen times. Bo: Did either of you talk to Ben today? Rex: I did. Bo: When? Rex: About an hour before the accident. Bo: What did you talk about? Rex: Just stuff, and then he said that -- Bo: Then he said what? Rex: Well, then he said he had to go find Natalie. But, I mean, that doesn't mean -- Bo: Ok, look, thanks for your help, all right? He's going to pull through, Jess. Jessica: Thank you. Sam: He's got Buchanan genes and Davidson upbringing. He's a fighter, Viki. He's going to make it. Niki: [As Viki] Yeah. I would so like to believe that. But you know what, Sam? You weren't there. You didn't see him lying there after he fell. Sam: No. No, but he's here now and he's getting the best care possible. Niki: Yeah, well, hope is one thing, that's true. But you heard what Larry said. Larry said it doesn't look good. Larry said that he -- he could die. So I think we have to be prepared for that. Sam: All right, someone's got to call Renee. Niki: Yes, absolutely, because she should be here when he -- if -- oh, God. Oh, would you call her, please? Sam: Will you be ok alone for a while? Niki: Sure. I need a minute to myself. Sam: You know, Viki, Ben was trying to reach me before. He left a message and it sounded kind of important. Would you have any idea what that might have been about? Niki: Uh -- gosh, no. No clue. Niki: [As herself] Let's just hope when Renee gets here it is too late because, Benji boy, if you survive this, I'm doomed. Jessica: Mom, what do you mean, you're doomed? *********************************************** Chad: There was no answer up at your place, so I took a chance you might be down here. Emily: You were right. Chad: Emily, I know you don't want anything to do with me because of that web site, so I'm not going to take up too much of your time. I just wanted to tell you that I think you're terrific and that I hope you have a really nice summer here and that your classes are great and you learn lots and that I'm really sorry for wasting your time. Emily: You didn't waste my time, Chad. I had a really good time with you, and I was hoping we could spend some time together again -- soon. Chad: Really? Emily: Really. Chad: Um -- what about all the stuff I did, like the web site? Emily: Everybody deserves a second chance. *********************************************** Sam: I can't leave that on her machine. Nora: Hey, Sam, I didn't know you were involved in this case. Hey, what is it? What's wrong? Sam: There's been an accident. Nora: Who? Sam: Ben. Nora: What? Well, how -- how is he? Sam: Larry said that he may not -- he might die. Nora: Oh, Sam. Oh. *********************************************** Natalie: That's the only explanation I have -- D.I.D. I have multiple personalities, just like Viki. Cristian: No, you don't. I don't believe that. Natalie: No, that's the only thing that explains it -- you know, why I keep forgetting all these things, why I tried to push Ben out the window. Cristian: Natalie, you did not push Ben through that window. Natalie: Oh, really? Well, no one else could have done it. What about Jessica? She said she saw me standing there at the window after Ben fell. What, are you saying she lied? Cristian: No, I'm not saying that. Look, I'm just saying that there's got to be some other kind of explanation. Natalie: No. Look. Look at this journal entry that I wrote -- or somebody wrote. "I hate them. I wish they were out of my life." And all this other stuff I've done -- pushing Jen and the red sweat suit thing and buying that stuff from the boutique. Whoever this Natalie is, she's a killer. Oh, God, I got to get out of here. Cristian: Natalie, where are you going? Bo: Hello, Natalie. *********************************************** Niki: [As Viki] I -- I said if Ben doesn't make it, if he dies, then I'm doomed because my life would be over. I mean, there's simply no point in going on, not without Ben. Jessica: Mom, ok, first of all, Ben is not going to die. Niki: Oh, yes, well, Jessica, you didn't hear your Uncle Larry, did you? He said -- he said it didn't look good, and I remember they said that about Joe. That's sort of bedside manner for "Make sure you get your black dress back from the cleaners." Jessica: Oh, my gosh, Mom, come on, please, don't talk like that. Niki: How can I not? Jessica: Ok, do you remember -- do you remember when Kevin got stuck in that fire in Ohio and the doctors weren't sure if he was going to make it? Do you remember that? You didn't believe them, Kevin didn't believe them. You guys proved everybody wrong. Remember? Ok, what about when I got ran over by Dorian, by the car? Do you remember, when I went into the coma? The only reason I came out of that coma is because you were pulling for me. Come on, Mom, that's what you have to do for Ben. You have to pull for him. Niki: I don't know if I can. I don't know if I have the strength to do it now. Jessica: Of course you can. You're Viki Davidson. You can do anything. Niki: Yes, I can, can't I? Jessica: Yes. You better believe it. And, you know, Larry is the best doctor around. If anyone can save Ben, it's him. Niki: Yeah, he is good, isn't he? Jessica: He's the best. But you have to keep focused. You have to keep focused on positive thoughts. That's what kept Kevin alive. That's what kept me alive. That's what's going to keep Ben alive, ok? Niki: You're absolutely right.
