Remy: I'll take those diamonds now. Nice work, partner.
Cyrus: Thanks.
Frank: Well, with what we've got on tape, this case is closed.
Alan: I feel that James is going to find his way in this world.
Phillip: What if I don't know how to love him the right way, because I never learned how to be a father?
Alan: I loved you, Phillip, and was very proud of you.
Josh: Are you okay?
Olivia: Everything just feels wrong when the person you loved is gone, right?
Roofer: Don't go out the back door till we tell you. We're throwing old shingles off the roof.
Marina: Okay.
Roofer: And we need the porch cleared.
Marina: Looks like the porch is being cleared.
Buzz: Where do you want this?
Marina: Why don't you just stick it back in by the kitchen somewhere? I guess they're working on the back, so we can't use the back door anyway. Yeah.
Blake: So how long is it before we can reopen?
Marina: I don't know. They said about a week.
Blake: Well, then that means two-- at least.
Buzz: Well, by then we'll have the restaurant open. We'll also be able to open the boarding house, which means I'll be able to get out of your hair.
Marina: I don't need you to be out of my hair. You know I don't mind you living with us.
Cyrus: I think what Buzz really wants is a place to be alone with Lillian.
Buzz: Oh, forget it.
Marina: I know, I know.
Blake: What is this? Can I check? What is this?
Buzz: That's mine. Hey, that's mine.
Marina: Okay, listen up.
Buzz: What?
Marina: Our guardian angel here gave us an opportunity to start fresh, start all over again, so we are going to ditch things.
Buzz: Don't!
Marina: Not take advantage of the situation.
Blake: Okay, done. Do we know who actually paid for the new stove and the crew to fix the roof?
Buzz: I've given up trying to figure this out. I'm just grateful. Stop. We've got to get the porch cleared.
Cyrus: Okay, I'm on it. (Cell phone rings) Hello?
Remy: Hey, it's me. You've got to get rid of the diamonds.
Cyrus: Pardon?
Remy: Look, I know you took them, and I know you know I know, okay? We don't have time to pretend anymore.
Cyrus: Remy, why would I jeopardize my good standing in town?
Remy: Would you shut up? They're all... damn it, it's Frank. I can't talk.
Cyrus: Well, I can't address the diamonds until I take care of this family.
Frank: Let the feds take care of this.
Remy: It's my case, Frank. I'm just following up.
Frank: I don't think so. I think you're going to tip off your good pal Cyrus.
Remy: He's a good guy, Frank.
Frank: He's a good guy who's going to be in a lot of trouble. And so will you be if you don't back off. Sanchez, Dougherty, need a little help here.
Daisy: Oh, wow. I can't believe all the junk we just ate.
James: I was starving. I left the campsite before we finished roasting the marshmallows.
Daisy: Whoa, wait, wait. Was Alan Spaulding going to make s'mores? Are you kidding?
James: Me, my dad, my granddad sitting around a camp fire, telling stories.
Daisy: Do you have pictures?
James: No, no, no. No evidence that the three generations of Spaulding men actually hung out together without bloodshed.
Daisy: And you chose to hang out with me instead?
James: You should be flattered. I have a very short attention span.
Daisy: Oh, really?
James: Easily bored. It's a sign of high intelligence. You haven't heard that?
Daisy: Is that what it is?
Lillian: James! I thought I heard your voice when I was at the market.
Daisy: Oh, hi.
Lillian: How are you, sweetie?
Daisy: Good.
Lillian: No camping? What happened?
James: Well, I think it's still going on, as far as I know.
Lillian: And you left?
James: Three's a crowd, Nana. I took the car and came to hang out with Daisy.
Lillian: Wait a minute, you took the car and you left your father stranded out in the woods? How you could be so stupid?
Phillip: Well, I guess we should start thinking about getting back. I'll... no, I won’t. I'll take a walk, see if I can find someplace where I can get a signal and call home, get them to send a car. I need to take a look at the map to remember where we are.
Alan: We know where we are. We just don't know how to get back.
Phillip: (Laughs)
Alan: Well, I'm glad you find that amusing.
Phillip: I don't, really. It's sad. It's frightening. Not only don't we know how to get back, we don't know how to go forward. We're stuck, Dad. And we're going to stay stuck. And if James ever has a son, he's going to be stuck right here with us.
Alan: Phillip, I really think you're blowing this all out of proportion here. This is just a camping trip, son, that's all.
Phillip: I just hoped it could be a little bit more. I thought maybe there was a way that I could fix things with James.
Alan: You've got to stop trying to fix everything. You've got to let life just unfold. I mean, life is a long journey, a long run.
Phillip: What if there isn't a long run?
Alan: What do you mean by that?
Phillip: Nothing. I'm just trying to make up for lost time with James, that's all. I keep going around and round in circles with him. I've got to find some way to leave him in better shape than I found him.
Olivia: I'm sorry. You always seem to come along when I'm in such bad shape.
Josh: Don't be sorry. You're going to be okay.
Olivia: I'm drinking alone, you know. I drank so much that some nice person that I barely even know has my kid because I was too drunk to drive. And what did I... did I go get a cup of coffee and sober up? No.
Josh: No, no. You ended up shooting some pool with your amazingly handsome ex-husband-- one of them. Probably the most handsome of the bunch.
Olivia: He is. You are.
Josh: I would say.
Olivia: I wish I could laugh about this.
Josh: I'm sorry. I feel like I was a bad influence.
Olivia: You're great. You've always been great. You keep me out of trouble.
Frank: I'm just trying to keep you out of trouble, my friend.
Remy: You're making a mistake, Frank.
Frank: I'll let you go, once we bring Foley in. Okay?
Remy: My cell phone. I want my phone call, Frank! Unbelievable.
Blake: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but we're not open.
Man: We're not here for coffee, ma'am. Cyrus Foley.
Cyrus: That's me.
Man: Gary Abraham, Federal Agent. You're under arrest.
Blake: Oh, my God. Let me call Frank.
Frank: You don't have to, Blake. I'm right here.
Marina: Dad, these guys, they just came right in and...
Frank: Marina, I know exactly what's going on. And so does Mr. Foley.
Buzz: What's going on?
F.B.I. Agent: You are?
Frank: That's my father, Buzz Cooper. He and my daughter run the place.
Cyrus: It's okay, Buzz.
F.B.I. Agent: Keep talking, Foley. Forget all about that right to remain silent.
Buzz: Don't say anything. What is this?
Frank: Dad, it's a federal case now, because Mr. Foley here kept some of the diamonds.
F.B.I. Agent: You can go, Miss.
Blake: Oh, no, no, no. I'm not going anywhere.
Frank: You know what, Blake? It's probably better off, okay? The fewer the better at this point. Please.
Marina: Blake, I'll call you.
Blake: Okay.
Buzz: I need some information.
F.B.I. Agent: None of you should leave or take anything from the restaurant until our investigation is over.
Buzz: Frank? Frank? Frank!
Frank: Pop, they've got to do what they've got to do, okay? And I promise you none of them will destroy the place.
Marina: Cyrus, how could you do this again?
James: And finally I decided I didn't have to sit there listening to them argue anymore, so I left.
Lillian: Couldn't you have just taken a little walk?
James: Yeah, I could have, but they still would have been there arguing when I got back.
Daisy: I'm sure they're fine.
Lillian: James, you know, I've been your greatest ally your entire life, and I have been your greatest defender since you got back home. But this lack of caring that you've started, it just baffles me. I mean, I hope it's not going to take a terrible tragedy for you to figure out that life is short, and we need to take care of each other. You just depress me so much.
Alan: Remember one thing, Phillip: We are who we are.
Phillip: And we should just accept that? We should never try to improve ourselves or learn anything from our mistakes?
Alan: You know, you keep dwelling on the past. You need to move on. I think... I think one of your problems is, you had too much time to think about all of this-- think about coming back and saving the world and saving the family.
Phillip: You know, it may come as a surprise to you, but I didn't really think all that much about that while I was gone. Most of the time, I wasn't sure I was going to make it back at all.
Alan: Well, you certainly have been impassioned about saving this family, fixing us.
Phillip: I wasn't sure I could face the family. That's why I stayed away as long as I did, because it was easier. I wasted so much time coming up with all these rationales why it would be better for none of you to ever see me again, because I was scared.
Alan: Why did you come home?
Phillip: Because of you. Isn't that funny? You're the one that sent me away, and you're the one that brought me back, because you raised me never to be a coward. I remember growing up, I used to always be afraid to get in fights. I used to avoid them at all costs. Of course, you always went looking for them. And I remember for my birthday one year, you gave me a biography of Winston Churchill. Do you remember that?
Alan: No.
Phillip: I wanted a dirt bike, I think. You gave me this book. Inside the cover, you wrote one line: "Son, make sure all your choices are brave ones." I thought you were ashamed of me, and I swore I would never walk away from another fight. You know, the funny thing is, I don't remember anything that I read in that book. I can't tell you where Winston Churchill grew up, or how old he was when he died, or really anything about the man. But when I found a book about him in my cabin, it reminded me of what you wrote. And that's what brought me home: A note in a book that you forgot you gave me, a father trying to teach his son about courage.
Alan: I don't know anything about courage, Phillip.
Lillian: Oh, thank heaven you're still here. I just saw James at the market.
Beth: James? James is supposed to be on a camping trip with Alan and Phillip.
Lillian: No, no, no. He took the car, and he stranded them. Some sort of argument-- typical.
Beth: Well, is James okay?
Lillian: James is fine. It's Phillip and Alan we have to worry about.
Beth: Phillip and Alan are big boys. They can take care of themselves. It's my son that I'm worried about.
Lillian: Well, let's start at the top. Let's go out to the campsite, and we'll talk to Alan and Phillip, and try to talk some sense into them.
Beth: Oh, yes, we know how well that has worked for the last 20 years.
Lillian: Beth, I need your help.
Beth: You're on your own, Mom, and so is Phillip. In fact, he prefers it that way-- at least as far as I'm concerned.
Olivia: Thanks for getting me home okay.
Josh: Mm-hmm. You sure you're going to be all right?
Olivia: I need a shower.
Josh: Me, too.
Olivia: That wasn't an invitation.
Josh: I know. I'm just a very visual guy. And, you know, I have seen you naked.
Olivia: Thank you for trying to cheer me up. I promise next time I'll be good company.
Josh: I'm going to hold you to that. You take care of yourself, all right?
Olivia: Yeah.
Josh: Okay. I could do your back.
James: Wow.
Daisy: What's going on?
Buzz: I have no idea.
F.B.I. Agent: Mr. Foley, by law, I'm required to inform you that we have to do a body search in order to...
Cyrus: They're in my pocket.
F.B.I. Agent: Nice. Diamonds.
Buzz: What's that?
Cyrus: That's not important.
F.B.I. Agent: "Stove, Daisy, school, roof."
Buzz: You're the guardian angel?
Cyrus: I was trying to help.
Buzz: You bought me the stove?
F.B.I. Agent: You bought the stove with the diamonds? It looks like the recent gifts to your restaurant were illegally purchased. It looks like Mr. Foley used profits gained by selling stolen gems. We'll need to confiscate all these gifts as evidence.
Buzz: Okay, confiscate all... a stove, right, and the roof? How are you going to confiscate the roof?
F.B.I. Agent: Who's Daisy?
Daisy: I am.
F.B.I. Agent: Your name is on this list.
Cyrus: She had nothing to do with this. I was just trying to pay her college tuition.
F.B.I. Agent: Ms...
Daisy: Lemay.
F.B.I. Agent: Ms. Lemay, where did the money go?
Daisy: Nowhere. I have the check here.
F.B.I. Agent: Looks like you're going away for a very long time, Mr. Foley.
Remy: I got the tip they were coming after you. I wanted to head you off, but they grabbed my cell phone and threw me in there.
Cyrus: They did you a favor.
Remy: You're in serious trouble.
Cyrus: I took my chances. I was trying to help, and I screwed up.
F.B.I. Agent: All About Jewel Thieves, they obviously belong in prison.
Buzz: Those belong to my son.
Frank: Look. Look on the cover of the box here. That's my brother's name, right on the label.
Buzz: They're for a book.
F.B.I. Agent: They're part of an investigation until we can confirm it's not. You or your son have a receipt?
Buzz: No, my son is dead.
F.B.I. Agent: Mr. Cooper, we'll be in touch. Detective.
Frank: I'll see you guys at the station. Dad, we're going to process Foley now.
Marina: It was your idea to give him a second chance.
Daisy: It's okay. I just... I can't believe Cyrus would do this to us.
Marina: I can. He's an ass.
Blake: Olivia, the door's wide open. I'm just coming in. Are you here?
Olivia: Come on in. You want some?
Blake: Oh, good. What's up?
Olivia: Christina saw that I was drinking, so she took Emma for the day. I couldn't even hide what a mess I am from my own kid.
Blake: Do you think Natalia is going to come back?
Olivia: I don't know. You have to know something. You were the last person who saw her.
Blake: You're here. Rafe is here.
Olivia: Was it me? Did I do something? Did I do something to make her run away like that?
Blake: I don't think so.
Olivia: Well, when she told you about us, did she say anything? I mean, come on.
Blake: Do you mind if I turn the water off?
Olivia: I don't feel like taking a shower anyway.
Blake: Okay.
Beth: Mom, Mom, this is Alan and Phillip we're talking about. If you get in the cross-fire, you are very likely to get shot.
Lillian: Phillip needs you.
Beth: No, he doesn’t. You're on your own. And you were the one that told me to keep my distance. So you're right, I'm keeping my distance.
Lillian: Sweetheart, things are a little complicated with him right now. I didn't tell you this; it's what you heard. But really, believe me, things are complicated.
Beth: Which is exactly why we shouldn't get mixed up in whatever problems Phillip is having with Alan.
Lillian: Beth, I just hope your support of Phillip isn't dependent on whether or not he wants to rekindle things with you.
Beth: No, it's not. It's not. Look, I do think he's not being completely honest with me.
Lillian: Maybe for some reason he can't be completely truthful with you. And honesty... honesty is relative, sweetie. You're coming with me! You're coming with me. Come on, I don't care. I'm your mother.
Phillip: What do you mean, you don't know anything about courage?
Alan: Where is that... the map I was looking at a while ago?
Phillip: Come on. Dad.
Alan: What?
Phillip: Talk to me.
Alan: Let me tell you something. What you know about bravery, you didn't learn from me. Everything that I am is because of an act of cowardice.
Phillips: The Spaulding’s are the Spaulding’s because of you. I mean, you can't build a dynasty like that and be a coward.
Alan: I found it out at a gas station, a gas station owned by my father. We were having our oil changed one day, and there was this guy that worked there named Gerald Pierce. Gerald was my age. He had a wife and a little boy. He was the only guy I knew that whistled when he worked. He and I didn't talk much before the war, but we did have this one thing in common. He was worried, too, about his number coming up.
Phillip: Did it? Did it come up?
Alan: No, his didn't, but mine did.
Phillip: What did Brandon say?
Alan: He didn't say much. I did all the talking. I told him, he's got to get me out of this. I don't care what he does, and I don't want to know how he does it. Just get me out of this, because I was too scared. There was no way I was prepared to go to war. So about a week later, it was done.
Phillip: Okay. May not be the most honorable thing you ever did, but, you know, you weren't alone. There were a lot of people who tried to get out of going.
Alan: I found out later that when my father fixed my problem, he had to give them a replacement for me. And of course, he chose an expendable employee: Gerald Pierce with his wife and little boy. He is the man that took my place and went to war. He never came back. He never came home.
Phillip: Maybe it didn't happen the way you think did it.
Alan: I didn't just let it happen. I made it happen.
Phillip: Dad, that's not fair. You know, it was Brandon. It was his plan. He's the one who did it. If you had known what he was going to do, you would have stopped him.
Alan: No, I was too scared. There was no way that I could've gone to war, Phillip.
Alan: The words that brought you home, Phillip, were all lies.
Phillip: Takes courage to admit your mistakes. Hell, it takes courage to live with them.
Alan: I don't know if I did anything brave or anything that had courage in it before I was drafted, but I certainly haven't done anything brave since then. Not after what I did to Gerry and his family.
Phillip: People change. Maybe... I know that it's hard but if we can... if we can just talk to each other like this, about things that really matter. (Horn honks) Hey, what’s...
Beth: Hey.
Phillip: What's wrong, what happened?
Beth: You're stranded.
Lillian: I saw James so we came to help you.
Phillip: Oh no, no, we're okay. No, just go, we'll get a car in the morning. Everything's fine.
Alan: No, no, no, no. Why do we have to get a car tomorrow morning? We have one right here.
Phillip: But Dad...
Alan: If we left tomorrow morning, we would have to pack all this stuff up by ourselves and we have them to help us. Well, you did come to help us, right?
Beth: Great idea, Mom.
Lillian: Honey... show us the way.
Alan: Okay, come on, follow me.
Beth: So what happened here?
Phillip: I'm not really sure.
Olivia: I thought you were going to turn off the shower.
Blake: Change of plans. Here, give me those chips. Come on, honey. I'm going to put you in the shower.
Olivia: No, no. What are you doing?
Blake: You need to get in there, because you need to figure out what you want your life to be.
Olivia: I know what I want my life to be. Natalia is my life and she's gone.
Blake: I got to tell you something. Here, take this off, because she's not here anymore, at least for now. She is doing whatever she needs to do, and you're going to have to live with that. And you have to figure out what you need to do.
Olivia: I don't know what I need to do.
Blake: Go back to your roots. That's going to tell you everything, okay. Just go, take a hot shower. Relax, you're going to look so much better afterwards. And so are you. Come on. Go, go, go, go.
Remy: How are you feeling?
Olivia: Fine.
Remy: Christina said you were a little under the weather, that is why...
Olivia: I'm fine. Look, I need some information. This one of my employees social security numbers. Could you... I need a list of her previous employer.
Remy: Olivia, this is the police department. We don't do that. Why don't you just contact the employee?
Olivia: I can’t.
Remy: If you think someone is stealing money from you and you want to do a background check you have to go to P.I. first, okay?
Olivia: Natalia is missing.
Remy: What do you mean, she's missing?
Olivia: I mean she's gone and nobody knows where she is. They're not talking. And I'm worried about her.
Remy: Rafe?
Olivia: He doesn't know.
Remy: How long has she been gone?
Olivia: Fourth of July. Look, I know I have no right to ask you for anything. But it not like her to disappear like this, right?
Remy: No, no, it's not. You think it is the whole wedding thing with Frank?
Olivia: I think she has been having a really hard time. So can you help me with this, please?
Remy: Yeah, yeah, I'll check her tax records to see if there is any old addresses.
Olivia: Okay. You're a good friend to her.
Daisy: Why do you hate us?
Cyrus: I was trying to...
Daisy: What, if you say you were trying to help, I will spit on you, okay. No, my grandfather was way too good to you, after you what did to Marina and my mother. He gave you a job. The rest of the town would have turned their back on you.
Cyrus: I know, I was trying to pay him and you guys back.
Daisy: How, by buying us stuff with stolen money? Didn't you know you were going to get caught?
Cyrus: No, I don't usually get caught.
Daisy: You don't usually get caught, that's great. Why us, huh? Do you have something against the Cooper’s specifically, because after what you did to Marina and then my mother and now me and my grandfather, I mean what did we do to you?
Cyrus: Listen, I know I hurt all of you. I thought this would make up for it.
Daisy: Oh, okay, well, your idea sucked, because we are worse off now than we were before. Now we're a restaurant without a stove. And the roof is half off and the workers are gone and we don't have the money to pay them and I don't know how much more Buzz can take.
Cyrus: Daisy, listen.
Daisy: No, if you ever get out of here, which I sincerely hope that you don't, you need to stay away from us. I'm sorry, I thought you were my friend.
Lillian: Oh, my God.
Buzz: Hi. There's coffee.
Lillian: That's what you are going to say to me about this, there's coffee?
Buzz: Well, you know all the great things that have been happening-- the stove, the roof-- Cyrus did all of that.
Lillian: Cyrus? I didn't think Cyrus had any money.
Buzz: Well, diamonds. He stole diamonds and paid for everything. And the Feds caught up to him and they just took everything away as evidence.
Lillian: You're not telling me they took away your stove... your stove?
Buzz: Yup.
Lillian: They're not taking the roof?
Buzz: Well, actually not the roof. The roof will not be finished. And neither will Daisy end up going to college.
Lillian: I didn't know Daisy wanted to go to college.
Buzz: I didn't either. Neither did anybody. Cyrus did, and gave her full tuition to go to Berkeley, but the Feds took that, too, as well as some other things that don't have anything to do with Cyrus.
Lillian: Buzz, I'm so sorry.
Buzz: Why do I do this? Lillian, why did I take him in? I mean, why do this to my family?
Lillian: Because you are a most wonderful man in the world. And you want to give everyone second chances.
Buzz: Because I'm an idiot. I mean... hope, faith, second chances. What... they are for suckers, they just come back and bite you in the ass.
Lillian: That is not true. We both know, you of all people know how short life is, right? And you've got to believe in something. There's no point in living life and not believing in something. It's far better than just giving it all up.
Phillip: Thanks for coming to get us.
Beth: Oh, no, don't thank me, thank my mother, she's the one who wanted to go. I was just worried about James.
Alan: Well, James should be worried now that we're back.
Phillip: Did you happen to notice, is the car parked out front?
Beth: I'll check. I might be the only one he'll talk to.
Phillip: I'll join you in one of those.
Alan: Have you seen the paper around here anywhere?
Phillip: You want to read the paper right now?
Alan: Yeah, I've been out in the wilderness for a while, and I don't know what's going on in the rest of the world.
Phillip: Dad, it's okay. I mean, I understand you not wanting to say anything in front of Beth. She's gone. We can talk.
Alan: About what?
Phillip: Are you serious?
Alan: Oh, here it is.
Phillip: Dad, come on, you were telling me about the war.
Alan: I don't know what you're talking about.
Daisy: Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you there.
Remy: Well, what you got there?
Daisy: It's nothing, just my future.
Remy: Berkeley.
Daisy: Yeah. I just want to get rid of everything to do with Cyrus.
Remy: He was trying to help you.
Daisy: Yeah, that seems to be what people say when they are actually ruining your life.
Remy: Cyrus isn't bad, Daisy.
Daisy: He's not bad, he just does bad things, just like his brother, is that it?
Remy: Maybe he did take the diamonds, but he had the best of intentions, right? So maybe it's not really wrong if he wasn't planning on hurting anyone.
Daisy: Excellent logic, Remy. I will try and remember that one if I scratch Mallet and Marina's car.
Buzz: I would give you one of my hairpins but I'm fresh out.
Cyrus: I wasn't seriously trying to pick it. Locks are kind of a hobby.
Buzz: Like screwing up my family (laughs)
Cyrus: I didn't mean to cause trouble, Buzz, I was trying to help.
Buzz: Yeah, I get it, I get it. You wanted to fix our problems to sort of make up for your past sins, right?
Cyrus: I was hoping...
Buzz: Yeah, so was I. But the trouble is with this kind of stuff, when somebody does this, I kind of think that maybe I was deserving of whatever second chances I got. But then when you blow it...
Cyrus: Just because I'm a screw-up, Buzz, doesn't mean you don't deserve your family.
Buzz: I think it is as much my fault as yours. I let you back in. They told me I shouldn’t.
Cyrus: Sorry, they were right.
Buzz: Yeah, so am I.
Blake: Nobody called. Frank. No one's by the restaurant, no one's there, what is going on? I'm a little frightened.
Frank: Well, let's see, Blake, Foley is locked up, stove's gone and half the roof is missing. I totally screwed up.
Blake: You did?
Frank: It's like I laid alcohol in front of an alcoholic. Oh, Blake...
Blake: I'm not following here, Frank.
Frank: I assigned Foley to the diamond case knowing damn well that he was a jewel thief. It's like I set him up. I...
Blake: Did you?
Frank: What? Of course not. You know, I... he deserves to be behind bars. I don't mind that, but it is just like I set the whole ball in motion, though. Oh, Blake.
Blake: What's going to happen to the restaurant, Frank?
Frank: I don't know. I don't know.
Blake: What time do you get out of here?
Frank: What?
Blake: When is your shift over?
Frank: Like 15 minutes.
Blake: Get somebody to cover you, okay. I'm going to take you to Farley's.
Frank: Farley’s... I can't go to Farley’s.
Blake: Yes, you can. You know why? Frank, we're going to play pool and we're going to eat pizza and I'm going to make you laugh. This is not your fault, okay? Come on.
Olivia: Christina, if you could just drop Emma off at my office as soon as possible, I would really appreciate that. We are going on a field trip to Chicago. I have to get her packed. I'm great, I'm much better now, thank you so much. Bye.
Phillip: I don't understand.
Alan: Phillip, I'll be happy to give you a section of this paper, just don't look over my shoulder.
Phillip: You and I had probably the most honest conversation we've had in our life, and you are telling me you want to pretend it never happened?
Alan: I don't know where you are getting this honesty from. It was nothing more than just a camp fire story, that's all.
Phillip: I don't believe you.
Alan: Look, you said you wanted this camping trip to be more than just an ordinary camping trip. You needed something to focus on.
Phillip: So the whole draft dodging thing was just a distraction? Not buying it.
Alan: Look, I had no idea how long we were going to be stranded out there. So none of it was true. It never happened.
Phillip: Dad, wait a minute.
Alan: Just forget about it!
James: Looks like I didn't miss much.
Phillip: You missed a lot.
Next on "Guiding Light"...
Phillip: He told me about Vietnam. How Brandon found a way for another boy to go in his place.
Alexandra: That was probably the defining moment in Alan's life.
Dinah: How are you and Marina?
Mallet: Other than the times I'm wondering if she is a murderer or not, good.
Emma: We're going find Natalia?
Olivia: We're going to find her, and we're going to bring her home.
