Previously on "Guiding Light"...

Frank: I'm proud of you. You stepped up.

Rafe: It was a lot of work, huh.

Emma: Yeah.

Mallet: So you still think Reva was set up.

Jeffrey: It's the only explanation.

Shayne: Do you think that there's any chance that Mom killed Edmund?

Dinah: I don't know what's going on with you and Edmund, and I don't want to know. It's none of my business. But I'm gently reminding you to not admit to anything you didn't do.

Shayne: Hypothetically, if you killed Edmund, would you tell the cops?

Olivia: Hi, Natalia, it's me. I know that you're meeting with Rafe's parole officer, but I've got our cookies here and they smell delicious. And I... I had such a good time yesterday. And Emma did, too. And who knew that service could put such a smile on your face. Or maybe it was just you. Anyway, call me when the meeting's done, okay? Bye.

Parole officer: So, how do you think it's going, Rafe? Is it good to be home?

Rafe: U-huh, yeah, sure.

Parole officer: How has the adjustment been for you, Miss Rivera?

Natalia: Oh, this is... it's been wonderful. You know, the hard part was adjusting to him being gone. And we've always been really close. So I'm sure after this whole transition period thing is over, then, you know, it'll be just like old times.

Parole officer: Have you been able to secure employment?

Rafe: I'm looking.

Natalia: Just, you know, it's a really crazy job market out there. He's just really insisting that he get a job all on his own. But... he's been really busy, in the meantime. Yesterday, he volunteered at the church, a large scale community service project, reaching out to people in need.

Rafe: We baked cookies.

Natalia: Well, yeah. And the cookies went to... to people in shelters and hospitals, in nursing homes. And plus, he's been really busy meeting with his mentor, Frank Cooper. And that's been going really well, I think. You know, don't you think it's been...

Rafe: We went.. we went mini-golfing.

Natalia: And they do a lot of other stuff together, you know. I know they have a workout schedule and, um, Frank's been helping Rafe look into community colleges. He's got his G.E.D. while he was away. So you know, hoping we can continue with his education, right, Rafael?

Rafe: Uh-huh.

Parole officer: That's wonderful. But Rafe's parole mandates that be employed.

Josh: Hey.

Marina: Hey, stranger.

Josh: How are you? Hi, Henry. How you doing? What a cutie.

Marina: Thank you. I'm jealous-of-you. Going for a jog on a beautiful day. I can't wait to do that.

Josh: Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no. You don't want to wish for stuff like that because he's going to grow up faster than you know. How old is he now?

Marina: Nine months.

Josh: Yeah, see, it’s... it's time for you to start planning for his first birthday party.

Marina: Oh, scary.

Josh: I think that's the one where they put their hands in the cake. In fact, if I recall, Shayne actually put his entire face in the cake.

Marina: Didn't he do that on his 18th birthday, too?

Josh: (Laughs) Yeah, probably. And I wish he were care-free today like he was back then, you know.

Marina: Yeah. There's a lot going on right now.

Josh: Yeah, there is. God, I wish Edmund never came back to this town.

Marina: Me, too.

Josh: I never thought I'd say anything like this, but I think he's causing more pain in people's lives now, while he's dead, than he did when he was alive.

Marina: Hopefully it will all be resolved soon.

Josh: Yeah.

Marina: I think, I'm going to head out.

Josh: Okay.

Marina: Good to see you.

Josh: Nice to see you too. Bye, Henry.

Marina: Run for me. (Laughs)

Reva: Hey! Hi.

Shayne: Time to break for lunch. I bought.

Reva: You betcha, get in here. I'll get some plates. Oh, that's sweet. Hold on. This is a nice surprise.

Shayne: Yeah.

Reva: Yes.

Shayne: How's my Godson, behaving? Where is he?

Reva: He's taking a nap, so life is good. Chocolate fudge cake? You're evil. You are so evil, but I love you.

Shayne: I figured what you'd been through, you deserve a treat.

Reva: Aww, well, you know what? I'm going to... mmm... just get over that day in jail and let Jeffrey do his lawyer magic. And hope that being innocent is enough.

Shayne: Cops are building quite a case against you. They even have a murder weapon.

Reva: Okay. What do you want?

Shayne: Why do I have to want something?

Reva: Chocolate cake. Your daddy used to give you that right before he took you for your measles shot.

Shayne: No, no, no, I can bring my mom chocolate cake if I... yeah, I need to talk to about something.

Reva: What about?

Shayne: Confessing.

Dinah: Hi there? What are you doing here?

Jeffrey: Well, you know, babies. I wanted to get out of the house, you know. Looking for some adult conversation.

Dinah: Well, well, you chose me. I'm flattered.

Jeffrey: Edmund Winslow. Wow, it must be in the news 24/7 now, huh?

Dinah: Yeah. Yeah, you know, we try to keep up with the case. But right now I'd rather focus on more positive stories like cats saving their kittens out of burning buildings, stuff like that.

Jeffrey: Some people might call that denial.

Dinah: Oh no, no, no. I just have become incredibly optimistic.

Jeffrey: You know, I stopped by the police station on my way over here. Mallet was kicking around some murder theories.

Dinah: You know what, I got to tell you. I can't take one more second talking about this dead creep. I'm over it.

Jeffrey: He... he just doesn't seem to believe that anyone could possibly set up Reva.

Mallet: Well, he is an excellent detective. He usually is very right about what he feels.

Jeffrey: Well, no one would believe that Josh or Shayne put the murder weapon in Reva’s car. I wouldn't do it for obvious reasons. But maybe Mallet is leaving someone off the list, you know? Mallet, your ex, he might be trying to protect somebody, you know, somebody who has a history of blaming others for their mistakes.

Dinah: Are you blaming me?

Jeffrey: Dinah, you let everyone believe that your own brother kidnapped Lizzie. How would this be any different than that?

Dinah: Jeffrey, I cannot believe that you are accusing me of something like this, especially when I was just spending some time with Reva to see how she was doing.

Jeffrey: Well, that was a little strange, right. I mean you and Reva aren't exactly best buddies, are you?

Dinah: So what are you going to do? You going to point your finger at me because I was trying to be nice to her.

Jeffrey: Well, I'm pointing my finger at someone who could've done this, who had a reason to kill Edmund and who would let Reva take the fall.

Dinah: I'm done with this conversation. I don't care how desperate you are, you do not come to my place of business and push me around.

Jeffrey: Dinah, if you killed Edmund, you did us all a service. But if you're trying to frame Reva, I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to make life very difficult for you, and you know I can do that. By the way, where were you the day that Edmund was killed?

Dinah: You're not the cops.

Jeffrey: No, the cops is Mallet, your ex. Some people might think that he still holds a soft spot for you.

Dinah: This is crazy. You're crazy.

Jeffrey: Where were you, huh? I mean, you're not denying, you don't have an alibi.

Dinah: No... you... I don't have anything to prove or explain to you. You do not come here and ask me questions. You are treating me like I'm the prime suspect.

Jeffrey: Dinah, I'm treating... who are you? Who are you? Is this your new self? I don't believe that people can change.

Shayne: Chicken's a little dry.

Reva: Hmm, you know, you can't do that. You can't drop a bomb like you just dropped and then want to talk about how dry the chicken is. So I want you to explain to me why you'd want me to confess, when I already told you I didn't do it.

Shayne: I'm just having a problem, all right. I just... I wish I never would have brought Edmund back into our lives because no matter who hit that man in the head, I'm the one who killed him.

Reva: Don't do that.

Shayne: It's true.

Reva: Don't do that.

Shayne: It's true, it's true. I should have listened to all you guys. Edmund did exactly what you said he was going to do. Turned on all of us. And he had to be stopped. It had to be done. That's what I want you to know. Listen, somebody had to stop Edmund. And if it was you...

Reva: It wasn't me.

Shayne: See, 99.9% of me believes you. Go with me on this, okay. There's that 0.1% that tells me that if you did do it, it was to protect me or Colin or your entire family. And I love you for that. And nobody is going to blame you if that's the case. So go tell the cops.

Reva: Hmm? Did you kill Edmund?

Shayne: No.

Reva: You see, 99% of me wants to believe that, but there's that little percentage that just keeps nagging at me. Look, I would let them throw me in jail if I thought it would keep you out. But how can I confess something to make it easier on me when I didn't do it. So can we eat the chicken.

Olivia: Hi, Blake. Look, I need to get some...

Blake: Oh, one second. Oh, oh. I'm sorry. This is a really, really good book. Yeah, you should read it.

Olivia: Oh, no, I shouldn’t.

Blake: I'm sorry, what... can I help you? (Laughs)

Olivia: Yeah, I just... I wanted to get a cup of coffee.

Blake: Coffee, regular, coffee. Yeah, you take milk, right?

Olivia: I do.

Blake: It's over there on the counter.

Olivia: Thanks.

Blake: Oops, this one's out. Hold on. So....

Olivia: Thank you.

Blake: You're welcome.

Olivia: So I thought that... I thought that you wrote those things. I didn't know that you read them, too.

Blake: Oh, yeah, well, I'm thinking about getting back into publishing, actually. And I had to figure out what was out there that was hot. And this is really hot. It's really hot.

Olivia: I never read those kinds of books. I never had the need for it, actually.

Blake: Well, I never have either but times change, so... how are you?

Olivia: Me, I'm fine.

Blake: You are?

Olivia: Uh-huh.

Blake: You seem a little off.

Olivia: I'm just going to... I'm going to probably get some... for my coffee.

Blake: I'm sorry, I won't pry.

Olivia: No, it's okay.

Blake: Okay. Hey, Frank. Is something up with Olivia? She seems... something's up, I think.

Frank: I brought a big jar of olives up from the basement for you, okay.

Blake: You did?

Frank: Save you a trip.

Blake: Oh, thank you, Frank. You're such a stand-up guy. I love you.

Natalia: Just hold on a minute. Just...

Rafe: What?

Natalia: Why would you do that?

Rafe: Do what?

Natalia: Why would you make it seem like everything is going so badly?

Rafe: Mom, look, he asked questions, all right. I answered them, that's it.

Natalia: You answered? A grunt and a shrug and a word here and there, that's answering?

Rafe: Mom, come on, Mom. Yes, that's all I had, okay? Yes.

Natalia: Your parole officer needs to see you as a person that is actually trying, trying to make yourself a new life.

Rafe: Mom, I can't stop him. He's going to see what he's going to see. And that's it.

Natalia: Do you want to go back to prison, Rafe? Because if you don't start working, that actually could happen. You need to get a job. You need to appear like you're a young man with some potential.

Rafe: Well, maybe I'm not, Ma.

Natalia: No, you are. And your job is to make your parole officer see the real you.

Rafe: Maybe that is the real me.

Jeffrey: You had every reason to want Edmund dead. And every reason to want someone else to take the fall.

Dinah: And you have every reason to come up with some crazy conclusions just to protect your wife.

Jeffrey: Did you set her up, Dinah? Huh? Did you put that pipe in her trunk?

Shayne: Why don't you leave her alone, Jeffrey?

Dinah: It's okay, Shayne.

Jeffrey: You need to understand what's going on here.

Shayne: I think I do understand what's going on here.

Jeffrey: Someone is setting your mother up for murder. I'm not going to just stand by and watch it happen.

Shayne: Then why don't you go do some real investigative work and find that person, instead of threatening the people on your side.

Jeffrey: You can be sure Dinah wasn't there, wasn't the one that did it?

Shayne: Dinah has stood by me and my family since the day Edmund came back here.

Jeffrey: You trust her?

Shayne: Yeah, I do trust her, with my life, Jeffrey. If I didn't trust her, I wouldn't be with her.

Jeffrey: I don't trust anyone.

Reva: Okay, let's try this again and see if we can do it without breaking a stroller. Well, hi!

Marina: Hey!

Reva: Hi, Henry!

Marina: Hi, Colin.

Reva: What are you doing?

Marina: We just wanted to stop by and see if you guys wanted to go for a walk with us.

Reva: Oh, so now you're using your baby as an excuse to come and check on me?

Marina: Me? No, please, I was using your baby.

Reva: Oh, well, that's actually a better excuse than Dinah had. She showed up to help me garden in designer duds.

Marina: Oh, wow, how did that go?

Reva: Yeah, not pretty, muddy Manolo's.

Marina: I bet she liked that.

Reva: Oh, she actually meant well, she did. She came over here to check to make sure that all the murder stuff wasn't affecting me or Shayne, to be more precise.

Marina: Yes, well, that's why I thought I'd stop by. Go for a nice, normal walk, maybe focus on that.

Reva: Normal? I like the sound of normal. I'd like to hold on that that for as long as I possibly can.

Marina: Yeah, me, too.

Reva: Reverse directions. I'm following you. (Laughs) Go slow. My stroller's on the fritz. (Laughter)

Blake: Huh? Hey, Frank, can you cover for me for a second?

Frank: Yeah, sure.

Blake: I can't find the list of things to go over with Maureen. I think I left it in the kitchen. I'll be right back.

Frank: Okay, I got it covered, Blakey.

Natalia: (Sighs)

Frank: How did the.... how did the parole meeting go?

Natalia: Not good.

Frank: Well, what happened?

Natalia: Rafe. He was himself, really. Oh, no, actually, he was his new self. And I have no idea how to deal with him. He's got this attitude, you know. I mean, he wasn't answering any of the parole officers questions, you know. And he just... he didn't seem to care about anything. And then I'm there trying to make things better, and I'm actually just making it worse.

Frank: It's probably not as bad as... as you think.

Natalia: Afterward, I just unloaded on him and I think I made him feel like, you know, I didn't think he was trying hard enough or I couldn't understand how difficult it is. And I do. I understand that it's difficult. I mean... but...

Frank: Natalia, you're allowed to tell him how you feel.

Natalia: Yeah, well, afterward he just... you know, he just looked at me with complete disregard. Then he walked away. He's not answering his phone. I don't know where he is.

Frank: You want me to help you go look for him?

Natalia: I hate to even ask you. I just don't want him to do anything stupid.

Frank: We'll both go, okay? Blakey, I'm out of here.

Blake: Okay. Oh, hi, Natalia.

Natalia: Hi.

Frank: Listen, I'll go check out the ball field.

Natalia: Well, I can go by the mini-mart. Maybe he got hungry or something.

Frank: Okay. See you, Blake. Call me if you find him, okay?

(Engine grinds)

Olivia: Oh, great.

Josh: Hi there.

Olivia: Hi.

Josh: You need some help?

Olivia: Need something.

Josh: What seems to be the problem?

Olivia: I don't know. I don't know. I don't even know why I opened the hood. I... I... isn't that what you do when a car won't start?

Josh: Would you like me to take a look? I fixed a stroller yesterday, maybe I'm on a roll.

Olivia: Have at it, it's all yours.

Josh: You haven't said that to me in a really long time. Excuse me, one second. Uh-huh. Yeah, it looks like the battery cables are loose. I don't suppose you have a crescent wrench, maybe a pair of pliers, something like that?

Olivia: What's the difference?

Josh: You know, maybe if I jiggle it just a little bit, we can establish some... contact.

Olivia: I think you made contact.

Josh: Yeah. Um...

Olivia: I... I would love to...I... I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry.

Josh: But you know, you did it, so well.

Olivia: Yeah, you did it really well, too. And if this were any other time, I would gladly...

Josh: Stop, stop, don’t... don't be giving me that speech about how, you know, it's not you, it's me. Because we've known each other for a long time. And I'm already very aware that it's not me, it's you.

Olivia: (Laughs)

Josh: I tell you what.

Olivia: What?

Josh: I happen to have my own tools available. So I'll see what I can do to get you going.

Olivia: Oh! I'm... I'm... I'm speechless. (Laughter) Nothing you can say now. It's going to just all go in that lovely territory.

Josh: Yeah. Well, let's not worry about it then. I'll be right back.

Matt: Oh.

Natalia: Oh, I'm sorry.

Matt: Turbo shopper.

Natalia: I'm sorry.

Matt: No, no problem.

Natalia: I'm just looking for Rafe?

Matt: Yeah? Is he okay? You look... you look kind of worried.

Natalia: Yeah, well, you know, he just recently got out so...

Matt: Right, right. Well, I was talking to Frank. He said he's having a little bit of a tough time.

Natalia: He's not quite himself.

Matt: Yeah, well, you know, hey, boys will be boys. I know I... I drove my parents crazy when I was his age. But you know, Rafe... Rafe will be okay. He'll be all right. Don't worry about it.

Natalia: Thanks, I hope so.

Matt: Yeah.

Natalia: Bye.

Matt: Good seeing you.

Natalia: You, too.

Reva: Are you... are you checking his breathing?

Marina: No!

Reva: Oh, come on.

Marina: No, of course not, no. Okay, it's a habit. I'll stop when he gets older.

Reva: I'm going to fill you in on a little secret. You never stop worrying about your kids.

Marina: You mean these butterflies that I get every single day, worrying every single second about his life, they don't disappear when he gets older?

Reva: No, the butterflies disappear, they do disappear, but they turn into bumblebees and sometimes they sting you.

Marina: That doesn't sound very pleasant.

Reva: No, it doesn’t. Because some of it's not pleasant. But most of it is wonderful. Your kids bring you more joy than anything possibly could.

Shayne: Huh, huh, huh?

Dinah: What?

Shayne: I come bearing gifts.

Dinah: Bikes?

Shayne: "Bikes?" Yes, bikes. You know how to ride a bike, don't you?

Dinah: Yes, I learned in my days at the carnival. A nice clown taught me.

Shayne: Your carnie days. Was it a little bike?

Dinah: It was a little bike.

Shayne: Did you ride a little bike? I wish I could've seen that. Well, this is a bigger bike and it has an adjustable seat so you can reach the pedals. Do you think you can swing it?

Dinah: Now?

Shayne: Yes, now right... I have the bikes sitting here. Yes, right now. Listen, I just want to get out. I want to enjoy this beautiful day. I want to have some fun. I need to have some fun. I don't want to think about Edmund or arraignments or trials or murder weapons. Any of that. Put your helmet on.

Dinah: Did you get me a large seat to insinuate my bum is large?

Shayne: Your bum is perfect. Wow, look at me. Now, that's sexy.

Dinah: Mm-hmm.

Shayne: That's sexy.

Dinah: Take it in.

Shayne: Take it in. All right, let's ride.

Dinah: Let's ride.

Shayne: Let's go. (Laughter)

Josh: All set. So next time, you know, you have problems, something you need, you just feel free to give me a call.

Olivia: I'll keep that in mind.

Josh: Okay.

Olivia: Okay. (Engine starts)

Josh: Look at that.

Olivia: Bye.

Josh: Hello.

Jeffrey: Hey. You busy?

Josh: Not so much.

Jeffrey: You want to come with me to see a dead body?

Shayne: Yeah! (Tires screech) Uh-oh.

Dinah: (Laughs)

Shayne: All right, so you lied to me. You ride quite well.

Dinah: Of course I do. A girl has to have a few secrets.

Shayne: Yeah? Uh-oh. We should have done this days ago. I needed this, get outside, have some fun, stop sitting around the house wringing my hands about who killed Edmund.

Dinah: Well, you're not able to do anything about who actually really did this. It won't change anything.

Shayne: My life has two complicated areas to it right now. Edmund's death, and Henry being my son. This murder investigation has taken the two of them and tangled them up into one big mess. I mean, my mother's being charged for Edmund’s murder. And the man investigating her is raising my baby. You're the only uncomplicated part of my life.

Dinah: Thank you.

Marina: We should do this every day.

Reva: It's great. I'll check my schedule. Oh, my goodness. Look at this.

Marina: Hey.

Reva: No hands? Why don't you have your helmet on, you?

Shayne: I'm too cool.

Reva: Put your helmet on. I can't believe you're on a bicycle. When was the last time you ever rode a bicycle?

Shayne: I don't know. But I'm too cool for a helmet, so... you know, the cool kids don't wear helmets, right? I'm just joking. I'm just joking.

Dinah: Is this their first play date?

Reva: No, actually... well, I would call it more a nap date, wouldn't you? (Laughter) But we've been getting together.

Shayne: So you two have been doing this a lot?

Marina: Well, kind of. I mean, the kids kind of end up in the same place at the same time these days. But I think they are going to make very good playmates.

Reva: Yeah. That is if I can stay out of prison long enough to actually be there when they have play dates.

Shayne: You won't be in prison.

Reva: Well, I don't know. They have a lot of evidence against me.

Shayne: Somehow I think that they're going to find out you're not connected to all of this.

Reva: Well, I hope so. What do you say? We should get these babies back home and change their poopy diapers.

Marina: Yeah.

Dinah: Have a good one.

Reva: Bye, Dinah.

Dinah: Bye-bye.

Shayne: So... the bike worked for a minute. Do you want to go catch a movie or something?

Dinah: Yeah, maybe later. I should really take care of a few things.

Shayne: Okay. I need a shower anyway.

Dinah: Okay.

Shayne: After you.

Jeffrey: Hey.

Josh: Hey.

Jeffrey: Thanks for coming.

Josh: Yeah, well, how could I pass up an invitation like this one, huh? How often do you get to see a dead body? And I assume we're talking about Edmund Winslow.

Jeffrey: Yes, we are.

Josh: My only question is why am I here?

Jeffrey: Well, you know, I've been doing a lot of poking around lately. And not only am I Reva’s lawyer, but I'm also her husband. So this way if I do find something not only will I have a witness, but I'll...

Josh: But you also know that I'll take care of Reva.

Jeffrey: Yeah.

Kenneth: Edmund Winslow, right?

Jeffrey: Yeah, I'm Jeffrey O’Neill. Here's the court order.

Kenneth: Follow me.

Exhale as you relax down to

the child's pose.

Olivia: Relax, Olivia, relax. Relax, relax.

Come on to your hands and

knees, bringing your hips to

the floor and lifting your head

into upward-facing dog.

We'll stay here.

Now, let your body go.

Feel the connection to the

earth as your body presses on

to the floor.

Olivia: Okay, that's not working. Oh! Okay. (Clears throat)
