Previously on "Guiding Light"...
James: It's from my mom. She wants me to join them for a family celebration. Come with me.
Daisy: I'm leaving. Don't follow me this time.
James: See you at the restaurant.
Beth: You're hurting me.
James: Get your hands off my mom.
Alan: Beth, you are not going to do...
James: Granddad, get your hands off my mom.
Beth: James, you made it!
James: I got your text about dinner. I was hungry, and here I am.
Alan: Good to see you, son.
James: So what was that about?
Alan: Well, your mother and I had a little misunderstanding, that's all.
Beth: It was, it was nothing. It was nothing. So, did you get...
Phillip: James.
James: Hi, Dad.
Phillip: Hey. It's so good to see you. I can't tell you how much it means to me that you're here.
Beth: I, um, I showed your dad pictures of your spring formal, and the lacrosse championship last year.
Phillip: Yeah! So you took first in the conference.
James: Good team.
Phillip: Oh, that's fantastic! I want to hear all about it. Well, come on. Your sister's waiting. She wants to see you, I'm sure.
Bill: I don't know why you keep making these "meet the parents" dates, okay? Because I am going to make you go fishing with my dad or antiquing with my mom.
Lizzie: Are you saying that my new boyfriend wants to spend some time with my delightful family?
Bill: Lizzie, look who's here.
Lizzie: Hey, you!
James: Did you get shorter?
Lizzie: No, but you could stop growing. You know my brother James.
Bill: Yeah. How are you?
James: Hey, can I get some of that?
Alexandra: James, James!
Beth: In about three years, you can.
James: Hey, Aunt Alex!
Alexandra: Hello. I missed you.
James: I haven't seen you since last year in Italy. That was so much fun.
Alan: My goodness, you've got your own Auntie Mama here, don't you, James?
Alexandra: Well we did have a lot of fun, didn't we, darling? Ready for some more.
Alan: Thank you son.
Beth: Here you go, I'm glad that you're here.
Phillip: I would like to make a toast. I still can't believe that you're here. Anyway, to my family. I know that my being away these last years, and my coming home, have not been the easiest things. But I really do feel like we are finally getting somewhere as a family. And I thank you for your patience, and I love you, and... I can't tell you how happy I am to finally be home for good because...
Alan: To our family! It's time this town knew that we are back stronger than ever.
Phillip: Because... I don't care what anybody says about us. In all of the most important ways, we are just like any other family.
James: And then some. Cheers!
Alan: Cheers!
Beth: Cheers!
Alexandra: Cheers!
Dinah: Why are we here?
Shayne: You remember that day I parked my car on these tracks and you found me?
Dinah: Ah... to the roof next, where I almost jumped? Please, I don't like to think of days like that.
Shayne: You can't appreciate how far we've come if we forget where we've been. If I hadn't stopped you and you hadn't stopped me, we wouldn't have right now.
Dinah: I guess the hard part is just living.
Shayne: Yeah. I think we're doing okay.
Dinah: You'd do better if you'd stop hanging out with Mr. Time bomb.
Shayne: Mr. Time bomb. Edmund's going to be fine. He has peace with how his daughter died now.
Dinah: How is that?
Shayne: I told him. I told him my part in his daughter's death.
Dinah: Shayne!
Shayne: I did.
Dinah: Why not just park your car on the tracks again.
Shayne: I didn't want it hanging over my head anymore. Sound familiar? When Edmund told me that Lara was pregnant, do you know how big a deal that was for him?
Dinah: So you felt that you owed him?
Shayne: I feel like I owed Lara, and I needed to trust her father the way he's trusted me. I'm not parked on the tracks. And Edmund understood.
Edmund: And I was so close to being the kind of man who deserved to be your father.
Jeffrey: Okay. See, we're drinking buddies now. (Laughs)
Reva: Wish I was with you.
Jeffrey: Well, you know what? You're immune system can't take it. So you beat cancer first, and then you come home.
Reva: I'm going to have my treatment right now. I love you both.
Jeffrey: And we love you. Say bye. Bye, Mommy! Good work, big guy. We don't want your mom worrying about us, huh? (Knock on the door) Okay. Hi. I've been interviewing nannies. I was hoping you were one of them.
Josh: I'll tell you what, I'll get you Mary Poppins if you can help me find someone who will get rid of Edmund.
Jeffrey: I can't believe what Shayne has been going through.
Josh: Yeah, well, Dinah was the only one who knew about it until just recently.
Jeffrey: And Reva, Reva doesn't know about any of this?
Josh: Shayne made me promise not to tell Reva, so...
Jeffrey: Well, why did he tell Edmund?
Josh: I warned him not to. Dinah warned him not to. But I guess when Edmund told him that Lara was pregnant when he died, Shayne felt compelled to tell him the truth about how she died. The problem is this: Shayne thinks that Edmund took it well. But I saw Edmund later on, and it was not good.
Jeffrey: I don't want Reva thinking about anything except, you know, beating her cancer right now. I'd take care of Edmund myself, but with Colin...
Josh: Do you-- do you want me to give it a shot?
Jeffrey: It's going to have to be you.
Josh: Oh, no, no. I'll handle Edmund. I'm talking about the baby now.
Jeffrey: Oh, you know what? This is kind of like a personal mission for me, actually, right now.
Josh: Oh, okay. I just need, I need someone who knows what he is doing to, you know, just help me get started. That's all.
Jeffrey: I hear you.
Josh: Pat him a just a little bit lower.
Jeffrey: Lower?
Josh: Yeah. Right there. Right there! (Baby burps) There we go!
Jeffrey: Got it.
Josh: Mission accomplished.
Jeffrey: Good boy! All right. My contacts...
Josh: Yeah.
Jeffrey: ...In the top shelf of that closet, right there. There you go. There you go. Yeah. Oh, yeah, under the gun.
Reva: Where have you been? I've been waiting.
Nurse: Very few patients are anxious to go for treatment.
Reva: Yeah, well, I want to get this over with so I can go back home again. My husband is taking great care of our baby, and my son Shayne, I haven't seen him this happy in months.
Nurse: I saw him when he came in to see Colin. Single?
Reva: Sorry, no. He's, um... he's taken.
Shayne: So we've covered the train tracks, we've covered the roof. Unless you're free to go to Germany, I think that's about it.
Dinah: Listen, I want to say one more thing.
Shayne: Oh, no saying things. Sh-sh-sh.
Dinah: Edmund is embarrassed...
Shayne: We're supposed to think about how far we've come. I know that you feel like you're the resident expert on him, but you're fired. All right? You're done. You're finished, kaput, kid. Had it. I think he's changed, Dinah.
Dinah: I believe you. I believe you, and I think that Lara changed him, and I know that you changed him, but I also think that if you tell him how Lara died, that would be enough to change him back.
Shayne: Lara made Edmund want a family. And whether you like it or not, I'm in it. And I think that's more important to him than revenge. You know, when you are someone who has no one, and you find somebody who really gets you, well, you don't give that up for anything.
Dinah: I found my person. Yes, I did. And I really don't want to lose him.
Shayne: That person isn't going anywhere.
Dinah: What?
Shayne: Ah, right as I say that, too-- except to go see my mom.
Dinah: Oh!
Shayne: Because I promised Jeffrey. I'm sorry.
Dinah: That's okay.
Shayne: Okay.
Dinah: That's all right. (Laughs) Okay, listen.
Shayne: Yeah?
Dinah: I'm going to hang out here, and I'm going to think about how far we've come, okay? And I want to thank you for taking me on our little tour. That really meant a lot.
Shayne: Your welcome.
Dinah: Yeah.
Shayne: To me, too.
Dinah: Good.
Shayne: Yeah.
Dinah: Come by later?
Shayne: Yeah. Okay.
Dinah: Bye.
Shayne: Bye.
Dinah: Be careful, please.
Shayne: Stop worrying about me... please.
Dinah: All right.
Shayne: All right. Bye.
Dinah: Bye.
Marina: Okay, he had his bottle over an hour ago, and his coat is in the bedroom if you guys decide to go out for a walk.
Mallet: Okay. We'll be good. You can go to work. We're good.
Marina: Yeah, we're going to be good, Mallet. We're going to be good until one day we both have to go to work at the same time, and then what are we going to do? We're going to have to stick the kid in childcare.
Mallet: But we-- yeah. We can't afford a nanny.
Marina: Yeah, I know we can't afford a nanny, or life insurance, or his college funds, or the fact that we probably have a huge legal battle coming up.
Mallet: Don't worry about the adoption, okay? You just worry about blowing through your binkie budget too fast.
Marina: Goodbye, Henry. I love you. Binkie budget.
Mallet: Yeah. I'm getting jealous because Henry is getting way too much attention. Hey, Daisy! I'm going to take Henry to the park. You want to come?
Daisy: No, thanks. I'm busy. (Cell phone rings)
Lizzie: It was all Bill. He called the Governor, and he said "Pardon Spaulding," and it just happened.
James: Really?
Lizzie: Uh-huh.
Bill: Well, it was not my idea. In fact, I thought I left there making things worse.
James: Yeah?
Lizzie: No, no, no. He's just being modest.
Bill: I don't know what I could have done that would have changed his mind.
James: You must have said something right. What do you think sold him?
Phillip: Wait a minute. We missed. What are we talking about?
Alan: Your expeditious prison release.
Lizzie: You know, I don't think it was what he said. Probably how he said it. Some guys just have that special touch.
Bill: H'mmm.
Alexandra: Oh, how true. After all, he is a Lewis (laughs)
James: So it had nothing to do with me hooking up with the Governor's daughter and then calling in a favor?
Alan: So... you're quite the ladies' man. Well, you are my grandson.
Bill: Wait a minute. Is this Amy Young? Because I met her.
James: Yeah. We go to school together. She was fun... until she wasn’t.
Bill: Oh, my. Well, look, um... whatever you did, thank you, because it got your dad out of prison and made Lizzie very happy.
Alan: I think it probably made Phillip much happier.
Lizzie: Oh, you're a dog!
Alan: More like a Spaulding Labrador Retriever, very loyal.
James: I don't know how I feel about that, Granddad.
Beth: So you were stringing this girl along. I don't like that.
James: But you're happy Dad's home.
Beth: Well, yes, but...
James: I got Amy to dump me. She's fine.
Bill: Really. How'd you swing that?
James: Ah...with a little help from a girl.
Lizzie: Another girl?
Beth: So how many girls are you stringing along?
James: As many as I can. (Laughter)
Phillip: Well, it appears I owe you my freedom. Would you all excuse us for a minute?
James: You're missing your own party.
Phillip: The Governor's daughter, huh? Why did you do it?
James: Why did I spring my dad from jail? I don't know, you gave me life.
Phillip: Yeah, and then missed most of it. Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm grateful, I think. But I'm no fool.
James: Maybe I wanted you free and clear when I thanked you.
Phillip: For what?
James: What you said, dropping out of my life, leaving it up to Mom and a few boarding schools to raise me. Thanks to you not being there, I may be the only member of this family that isn't screwed up.
Phillip: You remind me of me.
James: God, I hope not.
Phillip: Look, I was gone a long time. And I would like to try to make up for some of that. If there is anything that you need or anything that I can do...
James: You don't have anything that I want.
Phillip: You know, I... said the same thing to my father.
Mallet: Hey! Hey, how's it going?
Jeffrey: Whoa! Nice wheels, man.
Mallet: Thank you.
Jeffrey: So you've got Henry on your own today?
Mallet: Yeah. Marina's working. How about you?
Jeffrey: Yeah, well, you know, Reva can't see him until she finishes with her cancer treatment, so...
Mallet: Oh, wow. How's that going?
Jeffrey: Well, it's hard, but she's hanging in there. She misses us, and we miss her.
Mallet: I bet. Looks like you've got it all covered at home.
Jeffrey: Oh, yeah. You should see how fast I can change a diaper now. ( Laughter)
Mallet: How fast can you change a diaper?
Jeffrey: I'm just kidding.
Mallet: Oh! Yeah, because sometimes Henry’s gone again before I'm even done.
Jeffrey: You know what? Actually, I'm glad that Reva can't see what a mess I'm making of this whole thing. But it gets easier.
Mallet: Soon. I hope.
Jeffrey: Okay.
Mallet: Hey, listen, Marina and I might be having some legal problems with the adoption.
Jeffrey: Oh, well, if I can help, let me know.
Mallet: Thank you. Thank you. Same here. I mean, if you need a sitter so you can go visit Reva, I'm your man.
Jeffrey: You can handle two? Bold. Bold, my friend, very bold.
Josh: Roc Hoover, Josh Lewis.
Roc: I remember. Your message was a bit muddled. Somebody need some supervision?
Josh: Yeah.
Roc: Prince Edmund. We spent a great Thanksgiving together. What has he done this time?
Josh: Nothing yet. I'd like to keep it that way.
Shayne: Tah-dah! Look at you. You're looking good.
Reva: Do not lie. You really look really awful in yellow, too. (Laughs) What are those, huh? Don't you know flowers are for sick people. You could give them to Dinah, though. It makes me happy to see you so happy.
Shayne: How did treatment go today?
Reva: Is Dinah the reason you're so happy?
Shayne: Yes, mother, Dinah is the reason I'm so happy. How are you feeling? Have you seen Colin today? Have you seen Jeffrey?
Reva: I, I'm fine. No, they're at home now, but they're all fine. But you should drop in on them anyway. Because I don't think the webcam is telling the entire truth. So what are you and Dinah going to do today?
Shayne: Mom.
Reva: What? It's just I'm fascinated.
Shayne: Fascinated?
Reva: Um-hmm.
Shayne: You're fascinated.
Reva: Yes.
Shayne: No. You want all of the details, is what you want.
Reva: Well, yes. I'm your mother. I should know the details.
Shayne: Well, there are some things a man shouldn't be telling his mother.
Reva: Really? Even a really super cool mother?
Shayne: No one's that cool. Show me how to work this thing. Oh-oh.
Reva: Sit down. I know that everybody is trying to protect me from certain things. And I didn't push because I know you were just looking out for me and the baby. But I need to feel like I'm a mom, okay? Because I can't do that for Colin right now.
Shayne: So you want to hear part of it?
Reva: Yeah.
Shayne: Okay. Edmund told me that Lara was pregnant when she died.
Reva: Oh, Shayne...
Shayne: So I decided that Edmund deserved to know the truth about how Lara and the baby died. That mine explosion that killed them, I missed it. I was going to ask her to marry me that night, and I was distracted, and I wasn't paying any attention, and I overlooked it. And she showed up early to surprise me. And she ran into the field, I wasn't there with her when it happened.
Reva: What do you mean you weren't there? But the wheelchair, your legs?
Shayne: Okay, listen to me. After Lara passed, I didn't want to live because of what I'd done. And I didn't want to live without Lara, so I took a walk into an active mine field.
Reva: Oh, you tried to kill yourself?
Shayne: Yeah. I tried it again since I've been here. And then Dinah... Dinah found me and...
Reva: Dinah?
Shayne: Yes.
Reva: Dinah saved your life?
Edmund: Hello, Dinah.
Dinah: You just missed Shayne.
Edmund: I know. I saw you two together. You know, Dinah, Shayne asked me not too long ago if I thought that Lara would approve of the way he's living his life. You know what I told him? I said Lara would just want him to be happy. And he looked so happy just now, Dinah, he did. You both looked so happy together.
Dinah: Yeah.
Edmund: But it made me wonder, is this what Lara would really want? It's too bad she's just not around to tell us now.
Dinah: I care about Shayne very much. I am extremely sorry for his loss, and yours.
Edmund: I did lose something, Dinah, I did. But Shayne, you know, is it really losing something if you're the thing that destroyed it?
Dinah: Edmund, listen to me.
Edmund: I packed my bags to leave town today, Dinah, and didn’t.
Dinah: Well, then, you know what? I'll tell you something: I think maybe you should go and do that. I think you should go and start over. Go somewhere and start over. You have honored Lara’s memory here. If it is too painful to stay, then you should go.
Edmund: But you know, it's so much easier just to lash out and leave, Dinah, than to stay and forgive. We both know that. I am, I am trying to forgive, I am.
Dinah: I know you are. You know what? It was an accident. And if you were there when I found Shayne in Europe. He was wracked, he had been carrying that guilt around with him for months.
Edmund: I just have one question for you, Dinah: Why didn't you want me to tell Shayne that Lara was pregnant when she died?
Dinah: I was afraid it would be too much for him to deal with.
Edmund: Is that it? Is that it? Or was it that you were afraid Shayne would tell me how Lara died, and then I would be too much for Shayne to deal with? You know what, Dinah? Maybe you were right to be afraid. You knew Shayne killed my daughter. You knew it, Dinah. You knew it all along. Let's see, who else? Josh? Of course. Reva? Sure.
Dinah: Shayne only told me.
Edmund: (Laughs) I brought her to the hospital, Dinah. I prayed for her baby, and she knew that Shayne killed my daughter.
Dinah: He didn't kill her.
Edmund: Let's see. Let's see. If Reva knew, Jeffrey knew, anyone else? The Spaulding’s? The Cooper’s? The Bauer’s? Come on!
Dinah: You know Shayne. He would give his life to bring Lara back. He almost lost his life because he couldn’t. He made a tragic mistake. You and I have made them, but we chose to make him. He didn’t.
Edmund: Oh, come on, Dinah. Stop protecting him. You're defending him. You're all defending him. It's just one huge cover-up, and you're laughing at me behind my back.
Dinah: Okay. You want somebody to pay, then I will pay. You want to hurt somebody, Edmund? Then you hurt me. You leave him alone. You hear me.
Edmund: You really do love him, don't you?
Dinah: You leave Shayne alone. He has suffered long enough.
Edmund: Oh, Dinah, it's never enough.
Reva: I could have lost you in so many other ways. But I know what it's like, I do. I know what it is like to just one day be living in this sunny little neighborhood, and then the next, something happens and life moves you to a new place. A place that is so dark that you don't want to stay. And that's when some people do take their lives, they do. They end it. And there are others who unpack, and they learn their way around, but they just get by, you know? They never get out! I missed raising you. But if I hadn't found my home, I may have missed ever really getting to know you. Now you have Dinah, and you have the rest of us. But to get out of that dark place that you were in, you have to do the hard work, and you did it, Shayne. You do it. You had the courage to move out, and now comes the best part.
Shayne: What's that?
Reva: You know you've been back for months. But today you finally came home. Welcome back to our sunny little neighborhood. (Laughs)
Jeffrey: Hey, um, does my son look yellow to you? I mean, maybe it's the light, but...
Mallet: No. You know what? He's kind of yellow. He's kind of yellow. What does that mean?
Jeffrey: Well, I was hoping that you would know. Because when it's your own baby, you actually know less.
Mallet: Yeah. You know what, hold on. (Cell phone rings)
Marina: Hello. Is everything okay?
Mallet: Hey, um... a baby question: What does it mean when his skin is yellow?
Marina: Henry's yellow?
Mallet: No, no, no. Not Henry. I'm with Jeffrey. Colin. It's Colin.
Marina: Oh, um... you know, it could be jaundice.
Mallet: What is that?
Jeffrey: What? What?
Marina: You know, just tell Jeffrey to make an appointment you know, with the baby's doctor and we'll have him checked out, just to be safe.
Mallet: You know what? She said it might be jaundice, and you need to get him to a doctor.
Jeffrey: I'm on my way to Cedars.
Mallet: All right.
Beth: So... did you have a good talk with your father?
James: I think we understand each other. Can I talk to you for a minute?
Lizzie: Yeah. What's up? You okay?
James: Yeah, yeah. Bill said before that you're glad that Dad's out, but that you didn't say it. You're not mad that I helped him?
Lizzie: No, no. Did Dad say something to you?
James: Not much. I barely know the guy. I've had deeper conversations with my lacrosse coach.
Lizzie: He's our father.
James: Yeah, but you're older. You remember more about how when he took us.
Lizzie: I did want him out of jail.
James: Cool.
Lizzie: He's back.
Beth: Honey, can I talk to you for a minute?
James: You made it.
Daisy: Yeah.
James: Let me help you with that.
Daisy: Thank you. I had nothing better to do, mystery man, so I figured you're buying.
James: No, Susan. We'll charge this to the family foundation so Granddad can right it off his charity.
Daisy: But, how do you know my name?
James: Spaulding? I'm James Spaulding.
Daisy: Yeah. I'm so leaving.
James: Please stay!
Daisy: Why should I?
James: You know my family better than I do.
Daisy: Yeah. I hate your family.
James: Even better.
Daisy: James, wait-- I--
James: Excuse me. I'd like to introduce everyone to my date, Daisy Lemay.
Lizzie: This is the girl from school?
Alan: She tried to shoot me, so she is not welcome. You should leave.
Phillip: You did shoot me, and she is extremely welcome and staying.
Bill: Well, I vote she stays.
Lizzie: I vote yes.
Alan: I vote no.
Phillip: Of course you're welcome. You're not going to throw up, are you?
Daisy: I can't make any promises.
Jeffrey: A friend of mine said that it might be jaundice. Will he be okay?
Nurse: A touch of jaundice isn't serious. We'll treat him and keep him for observation.
Jeffrey: Okay. Um... I'll be right in. I just want to tell my wife that we're here. Okay. I just have to figure out how.
Shayne: I've got to go. I've got to go. I'm meeting Edmund to do a publicity photo shoot for the Lara project.
Reva: Okay. Now you said you trusted him, right, with the truth about how she died?
Shayne: Yeah. I told him, and, I mean, well, honestly, yeah, he took it hard, but I think he understands.
Reva: Really. I need to see him. I want to see him. Because I can tell whether or not he is going to be a threat.
Shayne: He's not a threat. I told you he's not a threat. This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you.
Reva: I don't want people protecting me from these things.
Shayne: And I don't want people protecting me, either. Ditto.
Reva: Are there going to be other people at this big, fancy, photo shoot?
Shayne: Yes. Lots. It's a photo shoot, with people. I just want you to stay here and get rested and get strong and get home because I love you. You've got so many wires, I hate this, I don't know where to touch you.
Reva: Don't touch me, I could blow up.
Shayne: Get away from me!
Reva: I love you, too. Keep smiling.
Dinah: Hi.
Josh: Hi. I got your message.
Dinah: Thank you.
Josh: Did Edmund threaten you?
Dinah: You know, Josh, it's not me that he's after. He knows things about how Lara died, and I can't tell you those things out of respect for Shayne.
Josh: Actually, I already know. Shayne told me not long before he told Edmund. And I have the same concerns you do. In fact, I brought Jeffrey in on this.
Dinah: You see, I think that's why Edmund is freaking out. Because he thinks we knew all along and that we were playing him. I told him he was wrong.
Josh: Look, I have no doubt Shayne could protect himself if he saw Edmund as a threat. But the fact is right now he does not. And until he does, he's going to need all of us.
Dinah: I know. Shayne just was so sure that Edmund changed. But I've just spent some time with Edmund, and it was like an angel was on one shoulder, and the devil was on the other.
Josh: Well, Lara was the angel, and she's gone. We both know who that leaves.
Edmund: Ugh!
Phillip: What?
Bill: I think we were expecting a big speech.
Alan: I'll make one.
Phillip: No, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No more speeches, no more toasts. That's not what families do when they sit down to eat. They sit down and they eat. I don't want to talk anymore about the past. I want to think about the future.
Beth: I'm all for that.
Alexandra: Here, here!
James: I'm in.
Phillip: Good, let's eat.
Alan: You know, that sounded like a speech to me.
Phillip: Can we just enjoy the meal?
Alan: Well, of course we can, but I'm enjoying having my son at home. By the way, with this new gift of freedom you have, I'm curious as to what you're going to be doing with it?
Phillip: Well, first I'm going to ask my son to pass me the salt.
Mallet: Hmm. So, um... Daisy's gone, Blake’s at the restaurant, Frank's at the station, where's Buzz these days?
Marina: I think he's at a card game.
Mallet: H'mmm. So when Henry is fully, completely asleep. Do you want to...
Marina: Maybe.
Mallet: Maybe? It's been like eight days, you know. Last time didn't really count, though, because you fell asleep... before we got started.
Marina: (Laughs) Well, I'm wide awake now.
Mallet: Really?
Marina: Uh-huh.
Mallet: Should I go light some candles?
Marina: Wow, you're sexy.
Mallet: It's the best I can do on short notice. We're only going to have, like, 20 minutes, maybe. (Cell phone rings)
Marina: If that is work, I don't want to answer it.
Mallet: I'll get it. Hello? Yeah, speaking. Uh-huh. You want to schedule an appointment and talk about my son's adoption? I don't understand. Yeah... okay, yeah. That's not a problem. Yeah, we can do that. Okay, thank you. Bye.
Jeffrey: So apparently it's you know, very common in newborns. It is a yellowing of the skin caused by a buildup of bilirubin.
Reva: I know what jaundice is. What did you do, pull it off the internet or something? Where is my baby?
Jeffrey: The nurse gave me a pamphlet. Whoa, whoa, whoa! No, no, no.
Reva: I want to see my son.
Jeffrey: Look, I need you both healthy, okay. Just let me take care of everything.
Reva: Why is it that everybody thinks they can take care of everything without me?
Jeffrey: Listen, I need you more than you can possibly know, who's everyone?
Reva: Shayne. I may need your help there. I think he's in some kind of trouble. I'll go into it, the whole explanation later, but I think Edmund may be a threat to him.
Jeffrey: Shayne told you everything?
Reva: What, he told you everything?
Jeffrey: No, I just found out.
Reva: (Sighs) Then I need you to stop protecting me, and start protecting my children.
Dinah: I got this since you paid for the assassin.
Josh: Well, hopefully, it's not going to come to that. Besides, this guy, he's dealt with Edmund before.
Dinah: I don't care. As long as somebody is watching Edmund, then I know that Shayne is safe.
Shayne: Okay, where is everybody? Hello? Hello. Hey, what's happening? What's going on in here? I have plans with Dinah.
Edmund: Oh, Shayne, I just don't think you're going to make it.
Next week on "Guiding Light"...
Dinah: I haven't heard from him all day, and I can't seem to find Edmund, either.
Josh: Okay?
Nurse: Mr. O’Neill, come quick.
Jeffrey: Where is my son? Did you check the mother's room?
Olivia: You're acting like spoiled brats.
Philip: What the hell do you think you're doing?
Doris: I really thought you would come to your senses and tell her how you really feel.
Olivia: What makes you think that I didn't?
