Frank: Your bail has been posted.
Buzz: I need to get the son of a bitch that killed my son and you can help me do it.
Grady: You're crazy, I'll go down, too.
Lizzie: What are you going to do now?
Phillip: What do you mean?
Lizzie: Well, you can't stay here.
Phillip: This is my home.
Grady: Don't be stupid. Next time Lizzie Spaulding won't be so easy to find.
Cyrus: You kept Bill's phone?
Lizzie: Yeah. Yeah, because it has the kidnapper's message on it.
Cyrus: You shouldn't be listening to that. Let me take care of it.
Lizzie: No, no! But I'm glad you're back because I need you to do something else for me.
Cyrus: Okay.
Lizzie: I didn't think that I was going to do it, but, um... I think I'm going to take this to the police. I'm going to see if they can use it to track the kidnapper's voice.
Cyrus: Lizzie, you're getting way too upset about this.
Lizzie: No, no. It's not just about this. My father's out of jail. He's here, in the house. I have kidnappers all around me.
Grady: Don't be stupid. Next time Lizzie Spaulding won't be so easy to find.
Lizzie: And this one is still trying to get me. So I have no choice but to go to the police.
Phillip: Well, good morning Mr. Foley. You're here early.
Lizzie: He was on a trip. I sent him out on the jet.
Phillip: Oh. Great. Well, I hope it was productive.
Cyrus: I hope so, too. Well, I should get going --
Lizzie: No.
Cyrus: I just wanted to check in with you.
Lizzie: No. I'll get dressed and then we can run that errand together.
Cyrus: I have to do some things, but I'll meet you there. Lizzie, it's going to be okay. I'll make sure of that. Okay?
Phillip: If Cyrus can't take you to the police station, I'll be happy to do it.
Lizzie: You were eavesdropping?
Grady: Daisy, I'm going to do it. I want to testify against Alan.
Daisy: Really?
Grady: He thinks he has power against everyone in this town. I'll show him who has the real power.
Daisy: You're not scared?
Grady: No, not if I'm with you.
Daisy: I want to be with you, too. Thank you. Come on, let's go tell my grandpa.
Phillip: You want your coffee?
Lizzie: No, thank you. I have a very busy day ahead me. I have to get dressed.
Phillip: I'll stop by the office --
Lizzie: I won't be there.
Phillip: Right. The police station.
Lizzie: You heard the message. Someone is out there. Someone is trying to get me, and I need protection -- from a lot of things.
Beth: Um, hi.
Phillip: Hi.
Beth: Mindy just called me. She is flying in, and, um... I thought that maybe you would like to go with me to pick her up?
Phillip: Actually, I've got--
Lizzie: I'm leaving.
Beth: You coming home has been hard on her.
Phillip: Yeah, harder than I thought.
Beth: It's not -- it's not just you. The last couple of years have been... someone messed with Sarah, engineered by Alan. And then she started seeing Bill, and it seemed like Bill was helping her. But Alan couldn't let it be. You know, he can't leave anything alone. Look what he did with Coop.
Phillip: It seems like I've missed a lot.
Beth: The truth is all of our lives are falling apart because Alan has control over everything.
Phillip: Not anymore.
Cyrus: Grady, we need to talk. If you don't call me back, I'm going to come find you.
Buzz: No, no. This will work.
Daisy: What do we do now?
Buzz: I set up an appointment for Grady two meet with the authorities. He is going to tell him everything he knows about Alan Spaulding.
Grady: Well, I know a lot.
Buzz: Well, the more you know, the bigger a hero you'll be.
Grady: I'm never going to be a hero in this town.
Daisy: Yes, you will. Once you put Alan away, everybody will see how wonderful you really are.
Buzz: I'm not going to kid you guys, this is not going to be easy. Alan will fight hard, but he needs to be taken down.
Grady: I know what I'm getting myself into. I also know what I'm going to get out of it.
Beth: It's just me.
Lizzie: Where is my father.
Beth: I don't think he's not going to hurt you.
Lizzie: That's not very reassuring.
Beth: You need to get to know him. I have spent some time with him. And I see a lot in him that I saw when I was young.
Lizzie: He was never normal.
Beth: Yes, he was. He was a lot like Coop.
Lizzie: Wow, that's really sick. Coop was a good man. My father will never be half the man that Coop was.
Beth: We need to give your father a chance to be the man that he is now. And, honey, that's what I came here to talk to you about. Your father has asked me to be a part of his defense team when he goes to trial.
Lizzie: Well, tell him no.
Beth: I haven't told him anything yet. I haven't decided.
Lizzie: Are you really -- you're really going to defend a man who kidnapped your children?
Beth: He is not the same person now. People snap!
Lizzie: No. You -- you -- you need to snap out of this. A nightmare-- this is a nightmare.
Beth: Honey, don't ask me to forget years and years of history that I have with him, and so do you. And more good than bad. Can't you just give him a chance?
Lizzie: Mom, it doesn't matter how much you want to believe in someone. Sometimes they're just -- there just comes a point when you have to accept that they're not the person that you thought that they were.
Beth: And sometimes you have to accept them for who they are, both good and bad.
Lizzie: Some things are too bad.
Beth: Okay. Okay. What if you believed that Bill wasn't the kidnapper, wouldn't you want him back in your life again?
Lizzie: Yeah. Yes, yes, of course I would. I want him to prove that he didn't do it. I want to be with someone who makes me feel safe.
Beth: That's how I feel about your father. Lizzie, sometimes I just wish -- oh, I wish you didn't have to be born into this family.
Lizzie: Yeah, me, too.
Beth: Honey, I'm -- I'm sorry. I have to go. I have a lot to do before the reunion.
Lizzie: (Laughing)
Beth: Okay. I know. I get it. I know you don't understand why I'm going. But, honey, people change.
Lizzie: You said that yourself. Granddad just needs to get out of the hospital. He needs to come home and fix this whole mess.
Beth: Your grandfather is ten times worse than your father has ever been.
Lizzie: Granddad has never held me hostage.
Beth: Yes, he has... every day!
Alan: Well, it looks like the lawyer got you out of jail. No one called to tell me.
Phillip: Oh, don't worry, he did everything in his power to keep me there, just as you asked him to.
Alan: I wouldn't do anything like that.
Phillip: Luckily Beth was there. And Coop was right. She's going to be a heck of an attorney one of these days.
Alan: Did you bring me a get well card or anything?
Phillip: Rick tells me you're being well-taken care of.
Alan: I don't know if you can trust Rick. He married Beth.
Phillip: So did you.
Alan: To protect her and her children.
Phillip: I've got to tell you, you did a bang up job. I spent the night at the house, and I've got to tell you, this family is in the worst shape I've ever seen it.
Alan: Everyone is fine.
Phillip: Yeah, okay.
Alan: You cannot be so judgmental, son. After all, you left everyone.
Phillip: No, I did not leave everyone! You shot me! Remember?
Alan: That was a long time ago.
Phillip: Okay. Okay. As long as you understand that as of now, I'm not going to let you hurt any of them any longer, not Beth, not Lizzie, not James, not Alex, none of them. I came back so that we could put all of this behind us and move forward.
Alan: So you have come back to save the world.
Phillip: No, Dad. I just want us all to be happy.
Alan: And I don't want us to be happy? You know, sometimes, Phillip, people have to be told what to do to be happy.
Phillip: Right. See, so you haven't changed at all. At all! You know what? I don't want to fight with you. I really don’t. But I will if I have to.
Alan: Son, please don't come back down here and stir up everything and turn people against me.
Phillip: I won't have to. People turn against you on their own. My favorite nurse. He's still alive. You can check on him, if you want.
Lillian: I don't think I need to. How are you?
Phillip: I'm okay. I'm out of jail. Thanks to your daughter.
Lillian: I know. I'm so proud of her she was able to help you. And I'm so glad you're home.
Phillip: I wish everybody felt that way. I spent a little time with Lizzie today.
Lillian: I bet that was hard.
Phillip: She's having a hard time, but I'll change that.
Lillian: Just so you don't start another war with your father.
Phillip: I will have to.
Lillian: I don't like the sound of that.
Phillip: Do you like the sounds of lunch?
Lillian: I always like lunch. I want to talk you about the 25th reunion. Are you going to go?
Phillip: I haven't decided yet.
Lillian: Okay, I'll be back in 15 minutes.
Buzz: You're doing the right thing.
Daisy: He is. I told him that.
Buzz: You have no idea how much better this is going to make me feel.
Grady: It will make me feel good, too, taking down Alan.
Buzz: He's going to have a team of lawyers, but he's going to pay for what he did to my son.
Daisy: And then Grady will be a part of our family.
Buzz: Thank you. Thank you for what you're doing for my son.
Cyrus: Grady, out here now.
Grady: Excuse my brother. It's some business we've got to attend to. I'll be right back.
Cyrus: That message you left on Bill's phone? She still has it, she plays it every day. She's terrified. She is going to take it to the cops and they're going to see if they can track you down.
Grady: Oh, that is bad news.
Cyrus: You think? Grady, we need to leave town right now. Forget our plans, forget the money. We'll be gone before anyone even realizes it.
Grady: I'm not going anywhere. Buzz has organized a way for me to stay. Not just stay, but be one of the good guys.
Cyrus: Really?
Grady: I'm going to turn state's evidence on Alan, and then all of my problems will be gone.
Cyrus: The second that you turn Alan in, he's going to tell everyone you kidnapped Lizzie.
Grady: And then I'm going to tell everyone he was in on it.
Cyrus: You're so stupid.
Grady: Hey, everything is going to be all right. I can handle this, and I can handle Lizzie. (Cell phone beeps)
Buzz: You got my release?
Lillian: No. We don't have your test results back yet.
Buzz: I need to go home.
Lillian: No, you need to stay here so I can pamper you.
Daisy: Grandpa has some very important things he needs to take care of as soon as possible.
Lillian: Yeah, but his health is the most important thing he has to take care of today.
Buzz: No, it's not.
Lillian: I'll be back.
Buzz: You need to get me out of here. I want Alan arrested before he leaves the hospital.
Daisy: I'll see if the coast is clear.
Cyrus: Hey, I was just coming to find you. Have you been to the police station?
Lizzie: No, no. I can't go.
Cyrus: What happened?
Lizzie: I was getting dressed and ready to go, and then I got this text message. Read it.
Cyrus: "I'm still here. Don't go to the police or you'll be sorry." This is bad.
Lizzie: Yeah, yeah, this is really bad. You know what this means? This means he is watching me. No one knew I was going to the cops. No one -- my dad. My dad heard me tell you that I was going to the police.
Cyrus: Lizzie, that doesn't make --
Lizzie: What if he's been watching me the whole time?
Cyrus: He's been in jail.
Lizzie: What if he has been back for a long time. He could have been here for weeks, for months.
Cyrus: Then why wouldn't he have contacted you?
Lizzie: Because it's him. My father is the kidnapper.
Cyrus: That doesn't make any sense, Lizzie.
Lizzie: That makes perfect sense. He tried to do it before, and now he's trying to do it again. Going?
Cyrus: Where-- where are you going?
Lizzie: I have to go talk to my granddad. He's the only one who can help me with this.
Cyrus: What did you do?
Grady: Nothing!
Cyrus: You texted Lizzie’s phone.
Grady: Look, don't worry, my number is blocked.
Cyrus: They can trace it, Grady. We have to get out of here right now.
Grady: Don't worry.
Lizzie: Don't, don't, don’t.
Phillip: What happened?
Lizzie: You know what happened.
Phillip: No, I really don’t. What happened?
Lizzie: I know what you did. I figured it out.
Phillip: You figured out what?
Lizzie: It's you.
Phillip: What?
Lizzie: It's you. You are the kidnapper.
Phillip: Oh!
Lizzie: He's after me. He's after me. The kidnapper is after me.
Lillian: Bill is out there?
Lizzie: No, it's not Bill. It's dad. Bill tried to tell me, but I wouldn't listen. And he gave me this message. Listen.
Lillian: Sweetie, I've none your father since he was 16 years old, that is not his voice.
Lizzie: He disguised it.
Beth: Honey, let's go outside.
Lizzie: I'm not going out there.
Beth: Honey, let's go he is out there. He is showing up at places where he knows we'll be alone. Then why hasn't he grabbed you yet if you've been alone, Lizzie?
Lizzie: I don't know. He has a plan. Maybe he is trying to get all of the kids together--
Lillian: Honey, you're being irrational, Lizzie.
Phillip: Sweetheart...
Lillian: Oh!
Phillip: She thinks --
Lillian: I know. Are you?
Daisy: How long before Lillian notices your gone?
Buzz: About 20 minutes.
Daisy: Work fast.
Buzz: What if I can give you the biggest win of your career?
Doris: That will be hard. I've had a lot of wins.
Buzz: Not like this one. This has eluded you.
Daisy: Huge.
Doris: What could the Cooper’s possibly do for me?
Buzz: I convinced Grady Foley to testify before a grand jury, because he wants to nail Alan Spaulding.
Doris: What's in this for Grady?
Buzz: He has double jeopardy-- there is no double jeopardy for hit-and-run, and I promised him you would give him immunity for the lesser events.
Doris: And what makes you think I would ever do that?
Buzz: Because whoever takes down Alan Spaulding will go down as the greatest legal mind of our time.
Doris: Is this because of what Alan did to your son?
Buzz: Do you want him or not?
Doris: I'll get a warrant.
Daisy: You did it. Coop would be so proud of you.
Rick: Sign here and we'll get you out.
Alan: Terrific. Listen, Rick, before you go, I want to talk to you.
Rick: What is it?
Alan: It's something serious.
Rick: I knew it was too good to be true.
Alan: You're a professional, and you're also Phillip’s good friend. Tell me, how do you think he's doing these days?
Rick: He's been in jail, so we haven't had any quality time together. I'm still angry about him kidnapping my son. So... I'm not sure how he is doing.
Alan: Seriously, though, Rick, I just spoke with him, and I'm worried about him. Something's just not right with him. I can't put my finger on it. But I think we have to be very careful and really watch him.
Rick: I can't believe I'm saying this, Alan, but I actually agree with you.
Lizzie: Mom, what are you doing?
Beth: Sometimes I just need to feel close to Coop.
Lizzie: Mom -- but Mom, I need you right now, okay? Dad kidnapped me.
Beth: Yes, honey, I know that he did. But he's trying really hard to make that up to you.
Lizzie: No, no, no. I'm not talking about before. I mean right now. Bill wasn't my kidnapper. Dad was.
Beth: Why? Why would you think that? Why would Phillip do something like that?
Lizzie: Why? Why? Why did he do it before? Mom, because he's sick. He's crazy. We have to stop him.
Beth: Okay, honey, you've had a really rough year --
Lizzie: What? Don't talk to me like I am crazy. He left a message on Bill's phone. He... I haven't seen Bill and I haven't talked to Bill in a couple of days. What if he hurt him? He didn't show up for work.
Beth: Okay, honey, I will see your father later, and I will talk to him then, I will.
Lizzie: Oh, my God. You are both crazy. I just told you that I think that Dad kidnapped me, and you want to go to a party?
Beth: Lizzie, I just think that we need to take a breath. We need to step back and then try to figure this whole thing out.
Lizzie: There is nothing to figure out! Forget it. I have to call Granddad. He is obviously the only person who can help me. It's all going to be okay. Granddad was released from the hospital. He's on his way here.
Beth: He's coming here?
Lizzie: Yeah. Yeah. He's going to protect me. He is going to help keep me safe.
Beth: Lizzie, he is the last person you can count on to keep you safe. Coop is dead because of him. You lost Bill because of him. Your daughter is gone because of him. We are standing in a restaurant where he shot your father. He is the most dangerous person we know.
Lizzie: You just hate him because he messed up your little fantasy with Coop.
Beth: Yeah, yeah, and I hate him because he destroys everything he touches.
Alan: I'm here.
Beth: No, you stay away from her.
Alan: It's all right. She wants me to help her, Beth.
Beth: She doesn't know what she wants.
Lizzie: Yes, yes, I do. You have to help to protect me. And you have to help me find Bill.
Alan: I've got you now. And no one is going to take you from me.
Daisy: Doris said yes, and Alan is done.
Cyrus: Just like that?
Daisy: Yes. It's great for all of us, but especially for us.
Grady: Well, I'm doing it for you.
Daisy: My family will have to accept you.
Cyrus: Hey.
Daisy: Cyrus, did you hear? Grady is going to testify against Alan. Everything is going to be great.
Cyrus: He is not testifying.
Grady: You can't tell me what to do.
Daisy: It's all worked out. We went to Doris, and the grand jury is in a couple of days.
Cyrus: Well, Grady will not be there.
Daisy: He has to. It's all arranged.
Cyrus: Daisy, Alan will have him killed.
Daisy: The police will protect him, and then everything will be okay. I'm going to go check on my grandpa.
Grady: You're not going to stop me.
Cyrus: I will just throw you in the cabin with Bill Lewis.
Alan: I understand you sent my granddaughter a voice mail and a text message. Now she is terrified.
Grady: Bill was snooping around and she started snooping around, and I wanted them to stop.
Alan: Let me tell you something, you stay away from her or I'll go to the police and tell them you kidnapped her.
Grady: And then I'll tell the police you helped me.
Alan: But I didn’t.
Grady: You helped to cover it up. And then the police will have enough information on you to put you away for life.
Cyrus: That was Alan?
Grady: Yeah.
Cyrus: Grady, we have to get out of town. I know you think you love Daisy, but we have no choice.
Grady: I do love Daisy.
Cyrus: We're leaving, all right? I've got some things to wrap up, and then I'll see you back at the house.
Rick: He's checked out.
Phillip: He checked out?
Rick: Out of the hospital, you moron. He's fine. He's fine.
Phillip: Do you know where he went?
Rick: To hell or back to the house. I don't know.
Phillip: I need to find him. Lizzie is in trouble.
Rick: What happened? Can I do something? Can I help?
Phillip: She's got it in her head that I kidnapped her. No, now! A couple of months ago. She thinks I'm the one who took her and I'm still after her.
Rick: Wait. You expect her just to forget?
Phillip: Well, you know, I was kind of hoping we could all get past it.
Rick: You know what? I do, too. But we were all such good friends and a lot has changed.
Phillip: That's my point, Rick. Everything has changed. Look at me. I'm okay.
Rick: I hope you are, buddy, I really do. But you know what? You've got a lot to prove to a lot of other people. Sorry. What?
Phillip: Are you going to the reunion?
Rick: You bet I am. Beth and Mindy are coming. Are you coming?
Phillip: Um...
Beth: Hilda, can you ask Phillip to call me as soon as you see him? It's very important.
Doris: Alan Spaulding, you're under arrest for the murder of Tammy Winslow.
Alan: Wait a minute. Is this some kind of joke, Doris.
Doris: No joke. Alan Spaulding, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you.
Lizzie: No, no, no, no. You can't take him away. I need him.
Doris: Where he is going, he can't help you.
Buzz: I lost my son because of him, and he has to pay.
Lizzie: Granddad, what should I do?
Alan: Follow me to the station, and then we'll talk.
Doris: That's enough. This is not your moment.
Lizzie: Please don't lock him up. I need him to be free.
Buzz: Well, I need him to be locked up. Well, I've done it, Coop. Alan's going to pay.
Cyrus: I can't let that happen, Buzz.
Buzz: What do you care about Alan Spaulding?
Cyrus: I don’t. I care about Grady.
Buzz: He'll be just fine.
Cyrus: I'm really sorry --
Buzz: No. Doris has granted him immunity. And we'll have Alan sent away. And the town will probably throw a parade for him. He will probably be able to ride out his own ticket.
Cyrus: Yeah, if he survives the trial without someone killing him, someone like him --
Buzz: He'll be protected.
Cyrus: You're hurting, Buzz--
Buzz: Frank will make sure she's safe. Marina--
Cyrus: Buzz, you can't beat Alan. And you're never really going to accept Grady. He's -- my brother is not a good man. I know things about him that you don't know. So even if Grady does survive the trial, he needs to go somewhere else and start over if he's going to have a life. And I know he'll hurt Daisy if he leaves. But Grady will hurt her much more if he stays.
Buzz: It's done.
Officer: Five minutes, Ms. Spaulding.
Lizzie: You have to get out of here. I have no idea where Dad is. He could be waiting for me anywhere.
Alan: Listen to me. Listen to me. I don't want you to worry about a thing because I have a plan.
Lizzie: You have a plan. Great. I'm going to call your lawyer --
Alan: A lawyer can't help, Elizabeth, but you can.
Lizzie: I can? What can I do? What can I do to get you out of here, Granddad?
Alan: Listen the to me. I want you to go and find Grady Foley and convince him that I will make his life miserable if he testifies against me. Elizabeth!
Lizzie: Wait, wait, wait. I can't leave this building, okay? I have no idea where Dad is. He could be outside right now!
Alan: Elizabeth, listen to me. Listen to me. If you want me to protect you, you've got to get me out of this jail. The sooner I get out of here, the sooner I can protect you from anyone hurting you, sweetheart. Don't you understand?
Lizzie: I -- I -- okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll find Grady. I could do that. I can do that.
Alan: Good. Listen to me. You do whatever you have to do. Threaten him if you have to. Remember you will have the resources of the entire Spaulding family behind you, sweetheart.
Lizzie: Don't you worry. I will make sure he does not testify.
Alan: And don't you worry out a thing. It's going to turn out all right. It always does, okay?
Phillip: Lizzie, are you here? We need to talk.
Beth: She's, um, bailing out Alan. Daddy out, Grandpa in. Just another day in the life --
Phillip: What did Alan do?
Beth: He hired someone to kill the father of Lizzie’s baby, Grady Foley. And Grady has decided to roll over on Alan, and Lizzie is beside herself because she thinks she needs her grandfather to protect her from you.
Phillip: She mentioned that, yes.
Beth: Does she need protection?
Phillip: What?
Beth: I'm Lizzie’s mother. No matter what I want to believe of you, I need to know if she's safe.
Phillip: I would never hurt her. You -- you stood up in the court yesterday, and you told the judge that you believed that I was well.
Beth: Yes, yes. That was to get you bail. But the fact is, what proof do I have that you wouldn't hurt her again?
Phillip: None. You'll just have to look in my eyes and ask me the question.
Beth: Fine. Are you the kidnapper?
Phillip: No. Which means that whoever took her is still out there. And she thinks that he is still after her.
(Knock on the door)
Grady: What are you doing here?
Lizzie: I came to see you. We need to make a deal.
This week on "Guiding Light"...
Beth: Time stood still here, but so many things have happened since then.
Mindy: So much has happened since that time, but I'll tell you, that time was innocent and pure.
Rick: Can I have this dance?
Mindy: Yeah.
Phillip: Do you want to dance?
