Cassie: I have a problem, Reverend.

Josh: Okay. I'm not actually a reverend, but I'll go with this. What's the problem?

Cassie: My husband. My husband's avoiding me.

Josh: Really? I can't imagine he would do something like that.

Cassie: Well, I know he's busy, what with the church stuff, and Lewis Construction, and the fallout from the building collapse, and he can't really be expected to have time for his new wife.

Josh: I'm afraid I don't understand.

Cassie: You still haven't answered me since I brought it up.

Josh: Brought up what?

Cassie: A baby. You and me?

Josh: I thought that was a hypothetical.

Cassie: Did you really?

Josh: I just thought it was in the moment, when Rick and Beth were concerned about their baby.

Cassie: Well, maybe it was, partly, but we are starting our lives together.

Rutledge: This is what I like to see, the Reverend and Mrs. Lewis working in harmony.

Josh: Well, I'm not actually a reverend yet.

Rutledge: Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I've been offered a job in Chicago.

Cassie: The big church on the lake?

Josh: That's a hell of a thing.

Rutledge: They want me to start as soon as possible, which means the church here in Springfield will be looking for a replacement.

Billy: I know my company is responsible for all of the damages, but what about that sleazy contractor? What? Bankruptcy? He's not going to get away with that. I wish I thought of that.

Vanessa: Billy Lewis, you're getting... forgetful, I see.

Billy: Yeah, well, now you know.

Vanessa: How long?

Billy: Oh, a month or two. It really doesn't make a difference. Hey, I don't want to hurt you anymore, so why don't you leave while the getting is good? Sorry.

Natalia: How about I get you something to eat?

Alan: Now, now, now, Natalia. I'm not hungry.

Natalia: It's not going to help Alex if you end up in another room.

Alan: She was always the one who took care of me, and now...

Natalia: We have to find out what the doctor says when she comes out of surgery.

Alan: Do you ever think about yourself? First you're handing out posters for Marina, and now you're taking care of me.

Gus: I agree. I think you're way too good to him.

Natalia: Stop. Until we find out what is going on with Alex...

Gus: Right.

Nurse: Detective Aitoro?

Alan: Where is she?

Nurse: The doctor is still with her. I thought you would want her things.

Griggs: What is with you, Alexandra? I am waiting for my money. And little Detective Cooper's life is hanging in the shady balance.

Alan: Here, look, let me take that.

(Cell phone rings )

Frank: What's the matter, Cyrus? Sad you can't keep the money?

Harley: Frank, this is the best way to find Marina.

Cyrus: Do you want to find Marina?

Harley: I want to tell you something. Come here. Take it easy. Cyrus already managed to get a tip to Griggs. He might have taken Marina to New York.

Frank: Fine, let's call...

Harley: No, no, no.

Cyrus: We'll get to him first, but we need to sneak up on him and get his own people to give him up.

Frank: And exactly how are we going to manage that?

Cyrus: It's going to take a million bucks. You get me the money, I'll get Marina.

Frank: (Laughs ).

Cassie: You're not worried about this, are you?

Josh: No. The entire church wants me to lead them. That's all.

Cassie: If you can put up with all of my doubts and fears, you can help anybody.

Josh: About the baby.

Cassie: One miracle a day I think will do. First we get you your church.

Rutledge: All set. You meet with the board later on today.

Josh: Oh, man!

Rutledge: Any questions?

Josh: Yeah. Is there a prayer for nervous stomachs?

Vanessa: I don't want to see you drink alone.

Billy: You going to drink with me?

Vanessa: Well, actually, I have something else in mind.

Billy: You're postponing happy hour here.

Vanessa: I want to make you a better offer.

Billy: Done.

Vanessa: How about we go on a little trip?

Billy: Let me guess, rehab?

Vanessa: No. How about we go someplace fun and exotic, someplace nice? How about we go to South America?

Billy: You actually want to take a trip with me?

Vanessa: Sure. Come on, Billy. I've been missing... I've been missing my son. I thought maybe you had been, too. Come on, let's take a plane to Venezuela. Let's go.

Billy: Right now? I'm right in the middle of this lawsuit.

Vanessa: It doesn't matter. You've got good lawyers. That's what you hired them for. And little Miss Lizzie, she can handle anything, I bet.

Billy: She sure can.

Vanessa: I'm serious. I have a week. Maureen is going to be spending the week at the Reardon’s, and I have had it with some of the stuff going on with Dinah and the divorce, and you, probably with the building and the...

Billy: Drinking?

Vanessa: Yeah. So, if you're not going to do it for yourself, do it for me. Let's go see our son.

Dinah: That sounds like a fine idea. Count me in, too.

Olivia: Yeah, I'd like to visit Bill, too.

Dinah: Road trip.

Olivia: Road trip.

Frank: We're going straight to NYPD in New York. Do you have a million dollars, sis? 'Cause I don't. And if I did, why should I give it to him?

Harley: Your daughter. I'll be right back.

Cyrus: I'm not asking you to trust me.

Frank: Good for you. Harley is a woman, and you take advantage of them.

Cyrus: She's a cop, and she's a damn good one. And so is Marina...

Frank: Marina isn't here, and the only reason she isn't here is because of you!

Harley: Hey, I heard about Alex. How is she doing?

Gus: It's pretty serious.

Harley: It's her heart?

Gus: Yeah. You can stop pretending. You didn't come here to see how Alex is doing.

Harley: Well, don't say I didn't try. We've got to leave.

Gus: We've got to leave?

Harley: Cyrus has a plan to get to somebody on Griggs' payroll, but we need a million dollars.

Gus: Well, all I've got is a few bucks... oh, you're talking about Spaulding money.

Harley: If anybody can get him to part with the money, you can.

Gus: I don't see him doing that for Marina.

Harley: You can promise him you'll never leave him. You can get him one of those world's greatest dad's t-shirts. Come on, Gus, this is Marina.

Gus: Okay, I'll see what I can do. But you know I'm not just doing it for Marina.

Harley: Thanks.

Gus: Yeah, no problem.

Frank: What's the matter? You've never seen me question a witness before? Go! Go to work!

Cyrus: Believe it or not, I care about Marina as much as you do.

Frank: She's my daughter. And the only thing you care about is scoring.

Cyrus: I had a life most people dream about-- all that Spaulding money, cars-- and I gave it all away for your daughter.

Frank: You got caught. And you made my daughter an accessory? What do you want, a medal for that?

Cyrus: Marina deserves the medal. She was ready to run away with me. I have expected her to turn me in.

Frank: If we don't find her, you'll wish she had.

Harley: When do we leave for New York?

Frank: Nobody has that kind of money... you didn't?

Harley: We do, and he will. And we are.

Gus: Look, I'm asking for a personal favor, Dad.

Alan: Whoa, whoa, whoa, careful with the "D" word. You may need a bigger favor some day, Gus. A million bucks, huh? Okay, I'll call my accountant and have it wired immediately.

(Cell phone rings )

Griggs: Alex, where the hell have you been?

Alan: Alexandra is indisposed, but I'm going to help you. Listen very carefully.

Josh: Okay, how do I look?

Cassie: A little green. Teasing. You look very handsome.

Josh: Well, I think I'm supposed to look pious or earnest or virtuous. I can't stand in front of a church board and pretend to be something I'm not.

Cassie: Well, then don't. You're going to be great, Tiger. I mean Reverend Tiger.

Josh: Um, could I have another one of those for good luck?

Jed: Mr. Lewis, if we're not keeping you. May I present Amanda Kingsley and Howard Brown. I am...

Josh: Yes, everyone knows who you are, Jed. I'm sorry, I mean, Mr. Proctor, Mr. Brown, and Ms. Kingsley.

Amanda: Mrs.

Jed: Let's get to it, shall we?

Josh: Wow, that's a thick file you've got there. I hope you don't have my third grade report card.

Jed: "Whispers too much, pulls pigtails, spelling needs work."

Howard: Not that we care about third grade.

Amanda: Hardly, Howard.

Josh: I'm really glad to hear that. Because I would like to think that we take a man on what he makes of his life, not he how he finds it.

Jed: Well put.

Josh: Really?

Jed: So let's see what you've made of your life. Starting backward from a building that collapsed, a recent conviction and imprisonment for attempted murder. A divorce, one of several from Reva Shayne, not to mention a divorce from Olivia Spencer. Am I going too fast?

Olivia: Business class to Caracas, a window seat and three aisles.

Dinah: Sounds good.

Vanessa: Whoa! Hold it.

Dinah: Mom, what are you talking about? I thought you said you wanted to visit Bill.

Vanessa: I did. But...

Dinah: Well, he's my brother.

Olivia: And he's my ex.

Billy: Your ex.

Vanessa: The thing is Billy and I were trying to arrange a getaway for the two of us.

Dinah: From me?

Vanessa: Yes.

Billy: What your mom is saying, we just wanted to take a break.

Vanessa: And when did the two of you become traveling companions?

Olivia: We were sisters-in-law.

Dinah: We're becoming friends.

Olivia: If you're so concerned, why don't you pick up the phone and call him? Ask him yourself. Or are you afraid to?

Billy: Good idea.

Olivia: Good.

Vanessa: Dinah, do you really think this is a good idea for the two of us to go on a trip together after everything that has happened?

Dinah: I think you should call Bill and tell him we're taking the night flight.

Billy: My Spanish isn't too good, but I think she just told me that Bill's number has been disconnected.

Doctor: She's in the ICU.

Natalia: That's a good sign, right?

Gus: What about the embolism?

Doctor: We've lowered the risk.

Alan: There must be something more we can do, Doctor, a specialist somewhere...

Natalia: I'm sure that they're doing everything they can do.

Doctor: I need to get back. As soon as we know more.

Alan: Please. You know, when we were children, my father wanted me to be cruel to Alexandra, treat her like the help.

Natalia: Did you?

Alan: Yes, sometimes I did. I'm not proud of it. Taking care of people has never really been a specialty of mine.

Natalia: I think you're getting better.

Alan: What do you mean? You heard what the doctor said. There is nothing I can do for her.

Natalia: I'm talking about Marina. All I did was put up some posters. I heard that you gave Gus all that money.

Alan: It's just a nice tax shelter, that's all.

Natalia: Okay, I won't ruin your rep.

Alan: Natalia, you know, maybe you inspired me to do that.

Gus: Well, Frank, I don't know if he'll deliver.

Frank: The money was wired into Harley's account. They should be in New York by now.

Gus: Don't tell me you let her go with him.

Frank: Like I had a choice. I wouldn't trust Cyrus with a million dollars, but I do trust Harley. She'll keep him in line.

Gus: Great, while she's got his back, who's got hers?

Cyrus: I'll take it from here. Look, they're not good people.

Harley: You mean they're bad guys?

Cyrus: They'll take you for a cop in ten seconds.

Harley: I'm not the one wearing an ankle bracelet. Just go back to the car. Seriously, I'll do it.

Cyrus: You might have been a wizard undercover once, but one or two many PTA meetings...

Harley: Are you saying I'm soft?

Cyrus: Gee, I don't know.

Harley: Look, you're the prisoner, I'm the cop. You stay here. I go in. Got it? Anybody here?

Cassie: So how did it go? You knocked them dead, right?

Josh: Did you ever see the first 15 minutes of "Private Ryan"? It was like that, but bloodier.

Cassie: I bet it's not that bad.

Josh: I would take you up for that, because gambling is the only sin they don't have me down for.

Cassie: Stephen said they're tough but fair.

Josh: Stephen was being nice. Compared to these guys, the Spanish Inquisition was tough but fair.

Cassie: Come on. I'm sure it wasn't not that bad. Well, there's always construction.

Josh: Many are called; few are chosen.

Cassie: You have more than a calling. You have a mission. I didn't see that at first, but I believe that now.

Josh: Cassie, I love you for saying that, I really do. But they made it very clear in there. They don't want a man who has to use both hands to count the number of marriages he has had. They don't want a man who knows the inside of a prison cell, not as a pastor, but as an inmate.

Cassie: If that's the case, they're a bunch of sanctimonious, self-righteous...

Josh: It's their church. They can make their choice. Look at the bright side: Maybe you don't have to end up being a pastor's wife.

Cassie: Where are you going?

Josh: I'm just going for a walk. I need to... I need to clear my head.

Billy: I already dialed that number a bunch of times. It's not working.

Vanessa: I don't get this. His email address is not responding.

Dinah: Okay. Two tickets confirmed, right.

Olivia: Jane, could you pack Emma? We're going to visit her daddy.

Billy: What if daddy isn't there when we get there?

Vanessa: It's just not like Bill to just disappear.

Dinah: No, it is him to do that... he does that sometimes.

Vanessa: You mean he's impulsive?

Dinah: Yeah, exactly.

Olivia: Maybe once he knows that Emma and I are coming.

Vanessa: Actually, that might be the reason why he's trying to avoid us.

Dinah: We have to take a flight, and we should try to all get alone.

Olivia: Yeah, Dinah and I are trying to be friends. Maybe you and I can just try to simply get along.

Vanessa: For my son's sake, I will try.

Dinah: Great. That wasn't very hard. Olivia, let's go and pick up Emma and get the luggage, and we will be on our way to...

Olivia: Venezuela.

Dinah: Right.

Billy: Hey, are you sure about this?

Vanessa: No. I mean, I think I can get along with Olivia, but it's torture being with Dinah.

Billy: I think we should cancel.

Vanessa: Why? What are you worried about?

Billy: Well, I'm not worried about Bill. No, I don't want to see Bill when I've been drinking. I know he's going to be disappointed.

Vanessa: So don't disappoint him. Don't.

Alan: I'm listening.

Griggs: I owe you one.

Alan: So you were able to avoid Detective Cooper, huh?

Griggs: Thanks to you. I left her a little surprise to let her know I'm on to her and Cyrus.

Alan: Harley won't give up. And if Cyrus cares for Marina like he says he does...

Griggs: Why don't you let me worry about that? Why don't you tell me who you are and where Alexandra is?

Alan: Never mind who I am. Alexandra has had a medical emergency.

Griggs: I'm sorry to hear about that. We had a deal. I recognize that you're the brother.

Alan: I seem to be losing you.

Griggs: Don't you hang up on me, Spaulding. I'm still holding the redhead, just like your sister wanted. If she can't come through with the cash flow, you have to step up to the plate and make it right.

Natalia: Alan, are you all right?

Alan: My sister is hanging on for dear life, and you want an interview with me? How did you get this number?

Natalia: Who was that?

Alan: A tabloid wanted to cash in on our tragedy.

Natalia: Let me have them. I'm going to call them.

Alan: No, no. How did my son ever let you get away?

Cyrus: Son of a bitch! Are you all right, Harley?

Harley: Cyrus... follow him.

Cyrus: Lie still. You might have a concussion or worse. Damn it.

Harley: Go after him. Don't worry about me. Get Marina.

Billy: Oops, you caught me. Are you going to yell at me?

Josh: No.

Billy: Call me a backslider?

Josh: No sermonizing today.

Billy: What about all of the "help me, heal me"?

Josh: I'm thinking about giving up the good book. Going maybe to voodoo, thinking of pins and dolls, especially a doll named Jedediah. Not anything serious. Maybe some boils.

Billy: What has got you riled up today?

Josh: Stephen Rutledge is moving up in the world and he wants me to take on his position.

Billy: Congratulations. What, is that where Jed comes in?

Josh: Yeah. And what do they say in show biz? We're going in a different direction.

Billy: Oh, those hypocrites. They would be lucky to have you.

Josh: That's not how they see it?

Billy: Let's go get them.

Josh: Me, a serial husband, and you...

Billy: You can say it-- a lush.

Josh: I think you're throwing your life away, and I also think you know that. It makes me sad, but I don't have it in me to fight for you today. Maybe tomorrow!

Billy: No, I need you to fight for me today. What are you going to do, let me down? Let Springfield down?

Josh: What do you want me to do? I'm not a saint! I never have been, and I never will be!

Billy: That's good because I don't need a saint. I just need my brother. And if you don't go back over there and fight with Jed and those holier-than-thous, I'll know you're not my brother.

Josh: It's not going to fly, Billy.

Billy: That's what they said about the Hindenburg.

Josh: Okay, I'll go. I'm going to take this with me.

Billy: Good. Try it, it might work.

Josh: Thank you.

Alan: Natalia...

Natalia: Alan...

Alan: I'm very sorry. I had a stupid moment there. I'm going to go back and talk with Alexandra's doctor. Excuse me.

Natalia: Okay, so that was weird.

Gus: Why didn't you smack his face?

Natalia: Come on, he's not even thinking straight.

Gus: Really?

Natalia: Yeah. He's not himself. He's worried about Alex. He feels powerless because he can't help her.

Gus: So you let him kiss you? That makes sense. I wonder how Remy would react to this.

Natalia: You're on Remy's side now?

Gus: Personally, I wouldn't care if they put each other in the hospital.

Natalia: Why, so I could be all alone?

Gus: Maybe I'm being a jerk. I just hate to see you throw yourself away on the wrong guy.

Natalia: And the wrong guy is anyone but you? You really are a jerk.

Harley: You came back.

Cyrus: I chased that creep all the way down the river, but he got away. Here. You feeling nauseous? Any stars?

Harley: No. It's not a concussion.

Cyrus: You're lucky. I told you that guy would take you for a cop.

Harley: He didn't have time to see anything before he hit me.

Cyrus: Maybe. But if he did...

Harley: It means Griggs is on to us.

Cyrus: Who tipped him off?

Harley: I don't know. Maybe one of your contacts who are grieving over spending a million bucks. Where's the briefcase?

Cyrus: Safe.

Harley: Where is the briefcase?

Cyrus: Look, would I have come back if I wanted to take it? Had you going for a second, didn't I?

Harley: I would have tracked you down.

Cyrus: Besides, there is Marina to think about.

Harley: Here, I'll trade you. It's leaking anyway, just like your dream of getting away.

Cyrus: I've lost you.

Harley: You and Marina, that bull you fed her about going off to Never Neverland, no cares, no Cooper’s...

Cyrus: Well, Marina is still alive. And while she is still alive, so is that dream.

Harley: Dreams die.

Cyrus: You don't really mean that. You're just hurt, and I'm not just talking about that bump on your head.

Harley: Some things never heal, Cyrus.

Cyrus: Why do you keep getting on the marriage-go-round?

Harley: We're talking about you.

Cyrus: First things first. We have to find Marina.

Harley: Oh, we'll find Marina. And you've have enough time to say good-bye because you're going back to prison. You do know that, right?

Cyrus: I know exactly.

Jed: Who is the next candidate?

Josh: Actually, he is going to have to wait, or she is, as the case may be. This won't take long.

Jed: Mr. Lewis, I think we've said all we needed to say.

Josh: You've said a lot. Now it's my turn, okay? That file you have right there, that talks a lot about the mistakes I've made in my life, and lord knows I've made a ton of them...

Howard: We don't need to prolong this any longer.

Josh: Howie, sit down. Thank you. What that file doesn't talk about is why I'm the right man for the job. And it's not because I'm better than the congregation. It's because I'm one of them.

Amanda: What is that on your breath?

Josh: Booze. Expensive whiskey of some kind. You should try some, you know, because it reminds you that you're human, like everyone else.

Jed: All right, this has gone far enough.

Josh: I've saved you for last, Jed, buddy, pal. You're an excellent businessman, you really are. Everyone knows that. But the thing is this: The church is not about business. It's not a profit-making thing. In fact, it's not for sale. The church is not a building. It's the people that go there, the people that walk through the doors and sing and laugh and cry and hold hands and get married and get baptized and bury the people that they love. And pray. And gossip and backslide. The church is a family, like any other family, and that is something that I know a lot about: Family. I know how to raise one. I know how to love them for who they are. That is who I am, folks. That's who I really am. If that's not what you want...

Cassie: Sweetheart.

Josh: Hey.

Cassie: I gave them a bit of a speech of my own before you got here, and they kind of liked it.

Josh: Really?

Cassie: Uh-huh.

Josh: I bet they liked it better than they liked mine.

Olivia: Okay, good, let's go.

(Cell phone rings )

Vanessa: Oh-oh, that's me.

Olivia: We can do that in the car.

Vanessa: No, no, I've got to look.

Dinah: I don't want to miss our flight.

Vanessa: It's a message from Bill.

Billy: What did he say?

Vanessa: The phone lines are messed up, and he'll see us online in a couple of days. He's okay, he's okay.

Dinah: Maybe you should tell him we're coming.

Vanessa: That's a good idea. "I'm glad you're okay, and how would you like some company?"

Gus: We have a child together, and I think I have a right to have feelings about what kind of guy is in his life.

Natalia: Don't make this about Rafe. It's about you pushing me away one second and then pulling me back in.

Gus: I'm sorry. I don't mean to do that.

Natalia: I don't care what you mean to do. I care what you do. I care way too much, and that's my problem. It would be so much easier if I didn't. Don't do that. I don't want sympathy from you. You know what I want? Please, I want a straight answer. Can you do that? 'Cause either I go on with my life without you, or I have to...

Gus: What do you want me to say, what?

Natalia: What do I want you to say? I tell you everything. I wear my heart on my sleeve with you. I want you and I tell you that. I want you to just say it. Just tell me what you want. What do you want?

Cyrus: Easy.

Harley: Can't just sit here. If Griggs is on to us, it means Marina is in more danger.

Cyrus: The last thing we need is one of Griggs' men jumping us on the way out. I gotta check the hall.

Harley: No, no, no. Together.

Cyrus: Yeah.

Harley: What are you doing?

Cyrus: You don't want to go out in New York looking like that.

Harley: If you tell me one more time that I look like a cop...

Cyrus: I don't have to.

Harley: You are...

Cyrus: I am a guy who could spot you from a mile away-- the hair, the makeup.

Harley: Fine. How about I look like a thief? See if I can look like a thief. Let's see what we have here. You know, you think you are so smooth. You just think you're like James Bond. But you know what, you're not. You're a hustler, you're a thug. You're a two-bit criminal, Cyrus. And you are in over your head with me.
