Nelle: Michael. Are you okay?
Michael: Hey. Yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you.
Nelle: No, no. I wish you would. I would have made coffee.
Michael: No, thanks. I'm kind of climbing the walls as it is right now.
Nelle: Any news about your dad?
Michael: No. The only thing we have is what Dante told us last night. They have footage of Garvey's car heading for the riverfront, but that is a large area to search. I don't think my dad's dead, I don't, but he could be hurt or trapped or both, and the longer it takes to find him, the worse his chances get.
[Monitors beeping]
Jason: [Sighs] Hey, uh... do you remember the first night Danny felt Scout kick? [Laughing] The look on that kid's face. He thought it was some type of magic trick. And he put his head down by your belly and asked Scout to do it again. The kid was right. It was magic. And the night we finally got to bring Scout home, Danny was so excited to meet his new sister. So were you. We all were. You and Danny sort of nested up into the couch and fell asleep. And there's Scout, just looking up at me with those big eyes. A couple of night owls. So I had a little talk with her. I told her how lucky she is to have you as a mother, because you are the toughest person I know. So could you do me a favor? Don't make a liar out of me.
[Thud]
Oscar: Oh!
Josslyn: Oh, my gosh! Are you okay?
Oscar: I -- I -- yeah, I'm fine.
Josslyn: Let me help you.
Oscar: It's okay.
Finn: It's perfect, Tracy. Of course, I know nothing about gemology, but I think Hayden will really appreciate it.
[Elevator dings]
Finn: Oh, my goodness. There she is. Okay, listen, thank you for everything. Your backgammon debt is forever forgiven, all right? Take care of yourself! Hi. Uh, I didn't expect to see you here.
Hayden: Well, I -- I couldn't wait. I missed you last night.
Finn: [Sighs] Well, that's the thing about being on call. Sometimes... sometimes they call. [Yawns]
Hayden: I'll try not to take that personally. [Laughs]
Finn: I'm sorry. I've been in the lab since 4:00 a.m. Can I take 2?
Hayden: Yeah. Could you get out of here soon? We can go grab breakfast.
Finn: Yeah, that sounds very tempting. There's just one thing I need to do first.
Deanna: A patient in exam 1 is demanding to see you.
Hayden: Looks like you won't be getting out of here for a while after all.
Deanna: No, not Dr. Finn. You.
Hayden: Me? Ah.
Deanna: He has a complaint about an invoice.
Hayden: Mm, excuse me while I manage.
Finn: Okay. [Whispering] Psst! Deanna! I want to show you something.
Hayden: I hear you have a question about your invoice.
Jared: It's not really a question. It's more of a problem. And it's not about an invoice.
Hayden: Jared, what the -- what the hell are you doing here?
Jared: I have a broken heart. You think you can fix it?
Josslyn: Um, I was just getting the newspaper for my grandma. She can't live without her horoscope. I didn't mean to scare you.
Oscar: It was my fault. I was the one creeping up to your house like a stalker.
Josslyn: [Laughs]
Oscar: Not exactly the best way to score points with your mom.
Josslyn: Okay, well, she's not even here. And, hey, you're golden, remember? She gave you her stamp of approval.
Oscar: Well, you know what that was? Because of the tie. Hey, no mom can resist.
Josslyn: [Scoffs] Okay.
Oscar: Hey, maybe I'll start bringing one with me every time I come over, just in case.
Josslyn: Well, how many ties do you have?
Oscar: You'll see.
Josslyn: You know, you don't have to go crazy. I mean, you can always use the doorbell.
Oscar: Well, actually, I was just gonna leave this here for you. I didn't want to intrude, considering everything that's going on with your step-dad.
Josslyn: Yeah, it's not exactly a "good" time.
Oscar: It's pretty dire, huh?
Josslyn: You can say that. But, I mean, things are less bad... with you here.
Nelle: You want it. You know you do.
Michael: Are you sure? What if I have a caffeine-fueled rage attack.
Nelle: You won't. Trust me.
Michael: Yeah, how can you be so sure?
Nelle: Because, firsthand experience, you are very cool in a crisis.
Michael: It's all an act, trust me. I'm -- I'm freaking out.
Nelle: Yeah. I'm sure you are. I mean, you won't, or you can't, let yourself lose control, because you have this instinctive need to try and go in and handle every situation. Tell me, did you have an ancestor who was like a fighter pilot or a general?
Michael: [Laughs] No. No. Nothing so glamorous. I, um... I had an eventful childhood. Yeah. And I kind of became a compulsive fixer, running around trying to hold everything together.
Nelle: Well, listen, you don't have to hold everything together today, okay? Finish your coffee, go take a shower, and then we'll go look for your dad, okay?
Michael: Okay.
Nelle: Okay.
Michael: Wait, wait, hold on. You're -- you're coming?
Nelle: Yeah. Strength in numbers, right?
Michael: Yeah, definitely, but don't you -- you have work, don't you?
Nelle: I mean, I can take a personal day with Nina. I've earned enough points with her, and besides, the office can manage without me. You're my priority today, Michael.
Michael: Okay.
Hayden: You need to leave. Right now.
Jared: We have business to discuss.
Hayden: Fine. But would you mind not doing it at my place of business?
Jared: Well, I had no choice. You didn't pick up when I called.
Hayden: What, this morning? Jared, I was getting ready for work. The world doesn't stop just because you need something.
Jared: Like my world stopped when you needed something?
Hayden: I never asked you to cover for me.
Jared: Yeah, you didn't exactly say no, though, did you? Face it, Rache. We have a bond that goes much deeper than marriage. Whether you like it or not, I'm a part of your life, and if you don't do right by me, I'm gonna myself a part of your fiancée's life. So it's up to you. Either deal with me or I deal with Finn.
Hayden: Give me half-an-hour.
Jared: Of course. Yeah. I just, uh, hope I don't catch an infection disease while I'm waiting. Then I would have no choice but to call Dr. Finn.
Hayden: You can't wait here.
Jared: Where do you suggest?
Hayden: I don't care! Anywhere! As long as it's private. You know if Finn finds out the truth, you lose your leverage.
Jared: Ooh. You always were a crack negotiator. [Chuckles] Tell you what, we'll find a place to talk where we won't be disturbed. In fact, I think I know the perfect spot.
Deanna: It's stunning, Dr. Finn.
Finn: Really? Thanks, Deanna. Hey, Griffin, you're a smart guy. What do you think?
Griffin: Uh, I never did learn the four C's -- cut, clarity, carat... whatever it is, that's got 'em all.
Finn: Are you sure? I mean, it's my engagement ring we're talking about. I don't want to screw things up.
Deanna: Don't worry, Dr. Finn. Hayden's going to love it.
Finn: Yeah?
Hayden: Hayden's gonna love what?
Griffin: I should go see about a patient.
Deanna: I need to check on some charts.
Finn: I -- that was so fast. You --
Hayden: Yeah, well, I'm that good. So, you want to tell me why Griffin and Deanna took off so fast?
Finn: Oh, them? Oh, you know, charts, patients... it's what they do, right?
Hayden: Right. And what about what you're hiding behind your back?
Finn: What?
Hayden: Not a patient, is it?
Finn: I didn't realize I was gonna do this right now. Um... but I -- but I wanted to make this proper.
Jason: Hey, buddy. How was your night? [Laughing] Trucks? Yeah, that sounds fun. Oh, she's -- she's doing okay. She is. I know she misses you. No, buddy, she's still sleeping, but she'll be up before you know it. She just needs a little bit more time. Hey, listen, do me a big favor. Be good for your grandma. Okay. I love you. Talk to you later. Bye. Sam.
Oscar: So, your mom's not home?
Josslyn: No. No, she's out looking for Sonny.
Oscar: We could go, too. If you want. I mean, I've got some time before I need to get back to the pool.
Josslyn: No. It's okay. I wouldn't even know where to start.
Oscar: You sure?
Josslyn: Yeah. Yeah, can we talk about something else?
Oscar: Yeah. Sure. Sorry, again. I didn't mean to make things weird. I just thought, I don't know, that maybe it was bothering you.
Josslyn: Yeah, no, it's okay. And it is bothering me. It's just...
Oscar: What?
Josslyn: I'm not really sure when I found out that Sonny was a mobster. I mean, when I was little, he was just there. You know, Morgan and Michael's dad, someone my mom used to be married to. Uncle Sonny. And then, gradually, I started to figure out what the guards meant and why everybody would talk about him in whispers. And for a while, I -- I actually thought it was cool, to be close to someone so powerful, I mean, with a such a rep. I was so stupid, such a baby, not to see the other side of it. To realize that the guards were there to protect Sonny. Protect his family, all of us. And that sometimes they can't. And this time, the guards weren't there to protect him. I don't know, I've -- I've been so furious at Sonny. But my mom loves him, and I've known him my whole life. I just don't want anything to happen to him.
Sam: [Coughs]
Deanna: Just take slow, deep breaths.
Jason: Take it easy, honey.
Sam: [Exhales sharply] Where am I?
Jason: You're in the hospital.
Sam: Why? What happened?
Jason: You -- you got sick. You collapsed in the penthouse. Do you not remember?
Sam: No. I don't know, I'm not sure.
Jason: Dr. Finn, Dr. Munro, they've been taking really good care of you.
Deanna: I'll go get them.
Jason: Hey, look. You had us all worried, but you're okay now. Everything's gonna be okay.
Hayden: Oh, my God.
Finn: You don't like it.
Hayden: What?
Finn: I didn't exactly pick it. I needed some help. Tracy helped me. Not that I'm blaming her. She sent pictures and stuff, but what do I know about diamonds? So I called Tracy and she told me not to worry. She said, "Finn, don't worry. Hayden will have the most beautiful engagement ring in the world on her finger in less than 24 hours."
Hayden: You're kidding me. Tracy got you a diamond ring before breakfast?
Finn: She's very impressive.
Hayden: I'd say. There are some things I thought even a Quartermaine couldn't accomplish.
Finn: Well, I guess Tracy has an in.
Hayden: Who?
Finn: Walt Wyndham.
Hayden: Of Wyndham Department Stores?
Finn: Yeah, I guess he was arrested once for, uh, public indecency.
Hayden: You're kidding.
Finn: I wish I was, but I guess Tracy got him out of it, and now he owes her for life.
Hayden: Well, don't keep me in suspense.
Finn: What?
Hayden: Tell me. What did he do?
Finn: You think she told me?
Hayden: She didn't?
Finn: I'm not sure, but I think the point of blackmail is you don't disclose what it is you're holding on the person.
Hayden: You are aware that you already gave me a ring?
Finn: You want to keep the onion ring? 'Cause I think the diamond has a better chance of lasting for the rest of our lives.
Hayden: I can't believe you did all this for me.
Finn: I'd do anything for you. Don't you know that? Uh, listen, if you have second thoughts about the ring, we'll, um... we'll get you another one.
Hayden: No, this is -- this ring is the only ring that I want. In fact, I'm gonna go get it sized right now.
Finn: What? Right now? You just got here.
Hayden: No, I mean, it's -- this ring is much too precious to me. Just like you.
Nelle: Hey.
Michael: Hey.
Nelle: You feel better?
Michael: I'm getting there.
Nelle: Yeah?
Michael: Thanks. Well... for the coffee and the shower, letting me crash here.
Nelle: Well, as far as personal debts go, I think it's going to be a while before we are even. Besides, maybe I want to impress you, you know? Not that I'm anywhere near you are as far as crisis management goes.
Michael: Well, you do okay.
Nelle: [Chuckles] I don't know, I think it's a little selfish on my part. If I don't have a problem to solve or a person to help, my mind starts wandering, and I think of all the past mistakes that I've made.
Michael: Yeah, but it is in the past, okay? You don't have to dwell on it anymore.
Nelle: I can't help it. Everything's going right now. I just getting really nervous. I have this -- I have this phobia about being happy, you know?
Michael: Hey. I am going to do everything that I can to change that.
[Door slams]
Hayden: Was this supposed to be cute? Asking me to meet you in the house I'm buying with Finn?
Jared: So you're -- you're definitely buying it? You've made an offer?
Hayden: Why?
Jared: Well, if you haven't signed any paperwork, you can still back out.
Hayden: Why would I do that?
Jared: For a variety of reasons. Take -- take the tennis court, for example. I mean, don't tell me you didn't see the mold out there. You could probably get the seller to knock a couple grand --
Hayden: Enough! Enough! You can save your little act.
Jared: What little act is that?
Hayden: The one where you pretend to be concerned about me, okay? Just cut to the chase.
Jared: Look, you think that I have an ulterior motive?
Hayden: I have no idea what your motives are! Okay? You just showed up at my place of work and threatened to expose me to my fiancée.
Jared: We don't have to do this, okay? We don't have to be at each other's throats. You know, if it were up to me, I...
Hayden: Go on.
Jared: Forget it.
Hayden: No. No. Say it. If it were up to you, what? We'd still be married? When you got out of prison, I would have met you at the gates with a limo and a bouquet? We would have rode off into the sunset, you and me against the world? Let me refresh your memory. During our marriage, you spent more time in other women's beds than our own, and now you're blackmailing me. So don't kid yourself. There is no future for us -- as husband and wife or as friends.
Jared: Just -- just borrower and creditor, huh? Fine, if that's the way you want it, I'm happy to oblige.
Hayden: Good. So, how do you suggest we resolve this?
Jared: There's only one way to get rid of me. You have to make restitution.
Josslyn: You probably think I'm crazy. You know, first, I go on and on about how much I hate Sonny, and then when something happens to him, I'm all scared.
Oscar: I think that's called being human. Seriously. It sounds like you have complicated feelings about Sonny, I mean, which makes sense. People aren't just one thing or another, and the fact that you feel different about him makes me think you see him more clearly than the other people who just constantly condemn him. Or the ones who think he walks on water.
Josslyn: That's funny you would say that. People tend to be pretty extreme about Sonny, you know. Either they think that he's a total criminal and completely in the wrong or they think he's this wonderful, benevolent, misunderstood guy. [Scoffs] But the truth is, you know, he's a little bit of both. Sonny can be kind, generous. Other times, he can be just awful, like he was to my dad.
Oscar: Well, then you should feel proud of yourself for not falling into that trap.
Josslyn: [Chuckles]
Oscar: You're very perceptive.
Josslyn: Not always. No, I was a total brat about Sonny.
Oscar: I don't think you could ever be a brat. I should probably get going.
Josslyn: So you're not gonna give that to me?
Oscar: Sorry. Space much? I mean, it was only the whole reason I came over. Remember that piece of metal that we found last night outside the old distillery? That's it.
[Monitors beeping]
Finn: How are you feeling, Sam?
Sam: Mm. Like I've been hit by a Mack truck.
Finn: That sounds about right.
Deanna: Temp's 101.
Finn: Good. That's down from last night. I'd say Sam is on the road to recovery.
Sam: Recovery from what? What happened? Will one of you tell me what's going on, please?
Griffin: Yeah. Yeah, we will, but, um, I should probably start with what you already know. Can -- can you tell us the last thing you remember?
Jason: Sam? Can you, uh, tell us the last thing you remember?
Sam: It was...at home. I was with -- I was with you, and Sonny came in and he wanted to talk to you. And...I left. I left.
Jason: Then what?
Sam: I don't know.
Jason: That's all you remember? Sonny came over yesterday morning.
Sam: I don't know, I feel like I've been dreaming. I...
Griffin: Well, that's very common for people with this illness.
Sam: And what illness is that?
Finn: You contracted a parasitic infection called toxoplasmosis, possibly while you were giving birth to your daughter.
Sam: What about Scout?
Jason: She's fine. We had her checked out. She's okay.
Finn: The infection developed into a form of encephalitis. This is what caused you to collapse last night. You presented both physical and psychological symptoms.
Sam: But, I mean, I'm being treated, right?
Finn: Yes. You're in pyrimethamine and sulfadiazine. This will treat the toxoplasmosis. And then rest and fluids and anti-inflammatories should take care of all the rest. I know this all sounds a little scary, but...
Sam: A little bit.
Finn: I know. I know, but you should relax, Sam. You're out of the woods.
Sam: Okay.
Griffin: Yeah, we'll be back to check on you in a little while.
Sam: Okay.
Jason: Hey, uh, would you be okay here for a minute?
Sam: Why? Where you going?
Jason: I just want to talk to Dr. Munro for just a moment. I've got a question for him. Take good care of her. I'll be right back.
Sam: Okay.
Finn: Hey.
Jason: Hey.
Finn: Everything okay?
Jason: Yeah, everything's fine, man. I just want to thank you guys for everything you did.
Griffin: Oh. Well, we appreciate that, but you don't have to thank us.
Finn: All in a day's work.
Jason: Yeah, well, you saved my wife's life. I owe you.
Finn: It's like Dr. Munro says. You don't have to thank us, Jason. Just take care of her.
Jason: Hey, Dr. Munro, um... got a second?
Griffin: Yeah. What's up? You got a question?
Jason: [Sighs] Yeah, uh... about Sam's memory...
Griffin: Yeah. Uh, you know, give it some time. The toxo and encephalitis did a real number on her.
Jason: Think she'll ever remember?
Griffin: Oh, I have no reason to think otherwise. You know, in the meantime, don't push her, you know? The stress could hinder the process. Just try to let it come back to her on her own.
Jason: Thanks.
Josslyn: You made this?
Oscar: I was gonna make a little more...more, but I decided simpler was the way to go.
Josslyn: Good call. It's perfect.
Oscar: I know my stuff isn't for everyone.
Josslyn: No! No, no, no. This is so awesome. I mean, you told me that you made stuff, but I had no idea...
Oscar: Not, yeah, ugly?
Josslyn: No! I didn't think that.
Oscar: I mean, you don't have to, like, wear it or anything.
Josslyn: I want to. Will you?
Oscar: Yeah.
Josslyn: [Chuckles] How does it look?
Oscar: On you? Amazing.
Hayden: I know you want money.
Jared: I want redress. After sacrificing four years of my life, not to mention my good name.
Hayden: You can't sacrifice something you never had in the first place.
Jared: Oh! Was that supposed to sting? Look, insult me all you want. It won't change what you owe.
Hayden: Maybe not. But it'll make me feel better.
Jared: You know, a little appreciation might buy you some good will.
Hayden: I am grateful for what you did for me. And I'm willing to do what I can to help you.
Jared: Really?
Hayden: Yes. I've made some good contacts here. Do you know ELQ?
Jared: The Quartermaines? Yeah, I'm familiar.
Hayden: Yeah, well, I know some people at the company. I could pull a few strings and get you an interview.
Jared: An interview...
Hayden: I'm not talking about HR. I'm talking about the executives. They would take my recommendation seriously. All you have to do is be your...usual charming self, and you'll be in the inner circle.
Jared: You are usually so much sharper than this! I'm not looking for a job! I'm looking for a payout.
Hayden: A job at ELQ will give you an income stream, a way back into financial circles. It'll be better for you in the long-term.
Jared: But no one is gonna hire me with my record. All right? A hit-and-run doesn't exactly give a company good PR. Which you'll soon learn when I make it known that you were the one who was actually behind the wheel. So let me spell it out for you. I want money.
Hayden: And I don't have it! I'm sorry! I know I made a promise to you, and I wish I could honor it, but I can't! I've got nothing to give.
Jared: You've got that.
Jason: Yeah, Alexis. Sam is doing much better. Doctors think she should make a full recovery. Can she talk? No, uh, she's still a little groggy. I think, uh, if you give her a little time, she'll be as good as new. Let me call you back. Okay. Bye. What do you think you're doing?
Sam: I'm trying to get out of bed.
Jason: Didn't you say you felt like you got hit by a Mack truck?
Sam: Yeah, but I just -- I mean, I can stretch, can't I?
Jason: Oh, she wants to stretch. Hmm. Can you help me out with this, please?
Deanna: Okay, once around the floor, then back to bed.
Sam: Told you so.
Jason: "Heh, heh, heh." I don't think this is a good idea.
Sam: Well, then you can lay here in the bed. Looks like you could use the rest.
Jason: Oh, that's really nice of you. [Chuckles] Okay. I'm coming with you. Ready?
Sam: Yeah, I'm ready. You gonna fill me in on everything I've missed?
Finn: [Sniffs] Still smells like you. [Sighs] I'm getting ready to tell you something, Reiko. I met someone. A while ago. It's serious. I know. Why are you only hearing about it now? I don't know, I should have told you. I should have told you sooner. I -- I guess I just think I -- I didn't deserve it. I don't -- I didn't deserve to be happy. [Sighs] I -- [Scoffs] I made my mistakes, sweetheart. I did some real damage. I don't know, maybe I was punishing myself for me being alive, and... and you being gone. Punishing myself for not being able to save you. [Sighs] So... I was a mess when I met Hayden, you know? And I did everything I could to drive her away. [Sighs] She just wouldn't go. She was so stubborn that way. [Sighs] The more I screwed up, the more she stood by me. We're gonna have a baby. We're gonna have a baby, and we're getting married. I don't know how I got so lucky twice, but I'm not gonna question it. I'd bet everything on Hayden.
Hayden: This is my engagement ring!
Jared: Yeah. It's not as nice as the one that I got you, but I can't really fault the guy for that. He's got to make do on a doctor's salary.
Hayden: You can't have this.
Jared: Fine. Don't give it to me. Hock it and give me the cash. You can buy it back later.
Hayden: If you want this ring, you're gonna have to take it off my cold, dead hand.
Jared: Wow. So attached, and it's been, what, less than an hour. [Chuckles] Oh! I see. You're afraid of what to tell Dr. Finn. Tell him you lost it. It's a ring.
Hayden: Not to me! So you can forget it. You're not getting this ring. It wouldn't clear my debt, anyway.
Jared: That's true, but consider it a gesture of good faith, incentive for me to keep my mouth shut while you work off the rest. I mean, I'd hate to tell Finn the whole truth. If I did, how long do you think you're gonna keep that ring on your finger once he finds out that you got behind the wheel, drunk, and put a girl in a wheelchair for the rest of her life?
Hayden: Every day I think about what I did to that girl. And to you. I know I ruined your lives. Please don't ruin mine, too.
Jared: You're kind of hot when you're desperate.
Hayden: Oh, my God.
Jared: Tell you what, I'll do you a solid.
Hayden: You're gonna let this go?
Jared: [Laughing] Oh, please. But I think I've figured out a way for you to get what you owe at no cost to you.
Michael: You know, you don't have to do this.
Nelle: Are we going to stand here and argue, or are we gonna go search for your dad?
Michael: Search. Definitely search. It's way too hard to win an argument with you.
Right. You know, you must drive your family absolutely crazy. I mean, they're all so impulsive, you know, and you're such a strategic thinker. They must think that they're winning whatever argument they think they're having with you while you just sit there with this pleasant look on your face and the -- bam! -- You turn the tables on them. Am I right?
Michael: Yeah, true. I do have a huge tactical advantage -- seeming to be reasonable.
Nelle: Mm-hmm.
[Knock on door]
Michael: Are you expecting someone?
Nelle: Uh, not that I know of.
Josslyn: [Laughs]
Nelle: Hey, Joss. What are you doing here?
Josslyn: I probably should have called first, right? Sorry, I wasn't thinking. I just had the most amazing thing happen, and I had to tell someone. Michael.
Michael: Hey, Joss.
Josslyn: Oh. No, I'm...interrupting, aren't I?
Michael: No, no, no. We were just, uh, on our way to search for my dad.
Josslyn: I knew it. I should have called.
Nelle: No, it's fine. Just, um, you know you're always welcome here. So, what is this -- this amazing thing?
Josslyn: You know, I don't want to keep you.
Michael: You got a minute to talk, okay? So talk fast while I'm putting my shoes on.
Josslyn: [Gasps] Isn't it beautiful?
Nelle: Yeah, Joss. It's definitely striking.
Josslyn: It's not like the stuff you see at the mall, you know? Manufactured by the billions and sold all over. No, this is unique. I think it's the most unusual necklace I've ever seen.
Nelle: Yeah, it's definitely unusual, Joss. Uh, Michael. [Clears throat]
Michael: What are you looking at?
Nelle: This.
Michael: Is that...
Nelle: I think so.
Josslyn: What is it? Is there something wrong with it?
Michael: I -- I don't think you realize what this is made from.
Josslyn: What?
Michael: It's a bullet casing.
Hayden: What are you thinking?
Jared: I'm thinking you giving up that ring causes more problems than it solves.
Hayden: I'm glad you've finally come to your senses.
Jared: Especially since there's a much simpler solution that's right up your alley.
Hayden: Well, don't leave me hanging in suspense.
Jared: Well, since you don't have the money you owe me, you'll have to embezzle it. Your specialty.
Hayden: I'm not an embezzler.
Jared: Oh, just a drunk driver?
Hayden: What do you think I'm gonna do? Infiltrate a mutual fund and siphon off the money?
Jared: Not a mutual fund. General Hospital.
Finn: She's not much of a letter-writer, but don't hold that against her. And strong. She's strong like you, Reiko. You know, she's... she's a good partner. She's got my back. She's the kind of person I think you'd -- you'd want me to be with, you know? You know, a year ago, if someone said to me "you're gonna be expecting a baby and you're gonna get married," I'd punch them right in the face. You know, I didn't have a lot of time. I was gonna be dead soon. But here I am. You told me to fight. You told me to fight, and I did. You told me to fight, and I did. And I feel like I got this second -- second chance at life. But what's -- what's so important about time if you're not gonna make the most of it? And that's what I'm gonna do, Reiko. [Sniffles] That's what I'll do. I'm gonna have a future, and I'm gonna have a family with Hayden, and I -- I wish I could have all that and still -- still keep you around, but I know I can't. I think if -- if you were here right now, you would tell me the same thing. [Sighs] You always knew what was best for me. [Sniffles, sighs] I just want you to know... I love you, forever.
Hayden: [Scoffs] You want me to steal from the hospital?
Jared: You're the CFO. You've got the means and the opportunity.
Hayden: Oh! Well, when you put it that way...
Jared: Oh, don't protest too much. It's not like you're hurting anyone.
Hayden: What? It's not like I'm hurting anyone? It's a hospital! It's there to heal the sick!
Jared: Come on, Rache. You're too smart about money not to realize that hospitals are big business. I mean, how hard can it be to skim a little off the top to pay a debt?
Hayden: I -- I can't. It's impossible.
Jared: Don't sell yourself short. You learned how to manipulate a balance sheet at Raymond Berlin's knee.
Hayden: This has nothing to do with my father. I worked like a dog to keep GH in the black. I will not embezzle from it!
Jared: Mm, then Finn is in for a rude awakening. Oh, imagine his surprise when he finds out that the mother of his child is not the angel that he thought, that she made sure a child would never walk again.
Hayden: Stop it.
Jared: Your pretty little future's about to vanish in a puff of smoke. That is, unless you pay me. You've got one week.
Sam: You know, you don't have to treat me like I'm some delicate little flower.
Jason: I know you're not a delicate little flower, but what you're recovering from, I need support just saying the words -- toxoplasmosis, encephalitis.
Sam: Yeah.
Jason: Tough ones. [Chuckles]
Sam: Yeah.
Jason: What's wrong?
Sam: I don't know, I just -- I think I'm ready to go back to the room.
Jason: Then let's go back to the room.
Sam: Okay.
Jason: All right.
Sam: Okay.
Jason: Don't get all tangled up. Hey. What's wrong? Sam.
On the next "General Hospital" --
Sam: There's something I'm not remembering.
Valentin (on the phone): I seem to have something that belongs to you.
Carly (to Bobbie): It's as if he disappeared off the face of the earth.
Michael (to Josslyn): You're gonna tell me exactly where you got this, right now.
Announcement: 20 minutes to demolition (while Sonny lies unconscious).
