Jason: I'm gonna go home.
Felix: You haven't been released.
Jason: That's okay. I'll sign myself out.
Felix: Against medical advice?
Jason: Fine by me, buddy.
Sam: No, no, no, that is not fine by me. Why didn't you tell me you were in the hospital?
Ava: Avery's fast asleep.
Sonny: I'm not surprised. You brought her home way past her bedtime.
Ava: [Scoffs] [Laughs scornfully] Must you be so petty? Really? I was just about to thank you for letting me tuck her in.
Sonny: Well, there are other ways to show gratitude. Answer some questions.
Ava: You know, Sonny, no. I don't think this is the best time --
Sonny: I do. Sit down.
Valentin: Sorry to drag you out into the cold like this.
Nina: It's okay.
Valentin: It's not a conversation I was eager to have, not one I wanted to have in a crowded bar.
Nina: Don't worry about it. It's lovely out here.
Valentin: Yeah. It's very calm, peaceful, far away from everything.
Nina: Including Anna Devane?
Anna: [Sighs]
[Doorbell rings]
Anna: [Exhales sharply]
Laura: Hi.
Anna: Hi, Laura. How are you? Hey, Lulu.
Lulu: Hi.
Anna: You want to come in?
Laura: Yes. Thank you so much.
Anna: Yeah, come in. It's so cold.
Laura: Yes. [Chuckles] Uh, listen, we're sorry for just showing up like this.
Anna: No, no, no. Of course. What's up?
Lulu: We need to talk to you about, um -- about Valentin.
Dante: [Sighs] Forensics supports your version of the events. You are no longer a suspect in Tom Baker's murder.
Diane: Then my client is free to go.
Dante: She is.
Diane: Excellent. Shall we?
Alexis: Could I just have a mom-- moment, please?
Diane: Detective.
Dante: Of course. Take all the time you need.
Alexis: [Sighs]
Diane: Take a deep breath. Get yourself collected.
Alexis: That's easier said than done.
Diane: Well, the worst is over. Now you can go before the bar review with a clear conscience. There's nothing to worry about.
Julian: [Sighs] So, why'd you call me down here?
Dante: I want you to answer a few questions about the kidnapping of Franco Baldwin.
Franco: Basketball trophies. Where have I seen those basketball trophies? The house that Tom Baker was staying at with his brother. Elizabeth's in trouble. I-I need to talk to the police.
Nurse: Excuse me?
Franco: The detective that's standing outside that door -- I need to talk to him. Please. It's a matter of life and death.
Elizabeth: The police need to see this right now.
Seth: No. I can't let you do that.
Elizabeth: Why not? What's going on?
Seth: I can't let you show that album to the police, not until you know the truth.
Valentin: The morning that I noticed the picture was missing, I told you it had sentimental meaning to me, but I didn't tell you it was a picture of Anna.
Nina: Why'd you leave it out?
Valentin: Well, it's a part of my past I was -- I was hoping would stay there. I-I really didn't want to share it with anyone. Anna and I were in school together.
Nina: You were in school. You mean college?
Valentin: No. We were cadets at the WSB Training Academy.
Nina: You were a spy?
Anna: I don't know how I can help, though, because everything I have on Valentin, I gave to the court when Griffin was fighting for custody, and it -- it made no difference.
Laura: I thought you said that it was an ongoing investigation.
Lulu: Yeah. Is there anything else you've found, anything that I could use to get my daughter away from Valentin?
Felix: I'll get this to the lab. If the results look good, maybe we can talk about you leaving tonight.
Jason: Thank you.
[Indistinct conversations]
[Door closes]
Jason: I know that look. Okay, I-I am sorry. It's just -- I didn't mean to scare you.
Sam: I don't -- I don't know why you didn't call me.
Jason: It's not that big of a deal.
Sam: It's not for you to decide.
Jason: Sam, I --
Sam: What happens to you affects me and this baby, and you have lousy judgment when it comes to your own health. So, I want to know your prognosis, and then I will decide how to handle it.
Jason: [Chuckles]
Sam: Why are you in the hospital?
Jason: Your dad drugged me.
Julian: Why would I kidnap Franco Baldwin?
Dante: You had reason to believe that Alexis committed a crime. You knew that Franco suspected her, and you wanted to shut him up before he could turn her in.
Julian: [Sighs] Well, if Franco Baldwin was kidnapped, I wasn't involved.
Dante: You never are, right, Julian? I mean, you had nothing to do with Duke Lavery's murder, Carlos'. You didn't kidnap Alexis and hold a knife to her throat. You're just a misunderstood guy with the best of intentions, right?
Julian: Listen, if you want to, you know, waste your time getting yourself a warrant, you knock yourself out. It wasn't me.
Franco: Detective West. Come on. You know who he is. He's got dark hair, piercing blue eyes. You know it's him. Every time he walks into a room, all the women faint.
Nurse: I know who you mean. I've seen him before.
Franco: Great. Could you please go get him? I need to talk to him. It's -- it's -- it's about a case. Please. It's really important. Typical. Ow. I'm a suspect, they're there. I need them, and they're off on a coffee break. Okay. Okay. Huh. Yeah. How hard can it be to take out an IV? Nurses do it all the time. Hmm.
[Rattling]
Franco: Uh, is that for me?
Orderly: I'm taking you to get an MRI.
Franco: Really? Would that involve removing an IV?
Elizabeth: The police need to see this album right away. They -- they need to know the truth about Tom.
Seth: And then the whole thing starts all over again. My name gets dragged through the mud just like Tom's. And what about my mom? I already told you -- she's been sick.
Elizabeth: And I'm -- I'm so sorry. I-I-I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you and your mother, but you are not responsible for Tom's crimes.
Seth: Damn right we're not!
Elizabeth: There's -- there's got to be something in here that'll help the police solve this.
Seth: I wanted to believe Tom was different, that he'd turned his life around. But the minute I saw that album, I knew. He's just the same as ever. He's just as sick as ever. When I saw him attack that woman in the alley, I knew. He's never gonna stop. He didn't want to stop.
Elizabeth: You saw your brother attack someone?
Sonny: How's business?
Ava: At my gallery?
Sonny: For the Jerome organization.
Ava: Well, I don't know. I put all of that behind me. I'm now a completely legitimate art dealer.
Sonny: Well, even for a completely legitimate art dealer, you hear things. Somebody's coming after the Jeromes, and... they first tried by going after Julian.
Ava: Oh, I thought it was you.
Sonny: No. It wasn't me. Do you have any idea who it is, who's coming after your family business?
Ava: I'm gonna tell you the same thing that I told Sam. If somebody is putting pressure on the Jerome organization, I do not know anything about it.
Sam: Julian put you in the hospital?
Jason: Yeah. Just take -- take it easy.
Sam: No, don't tell me to take it easy.
Jason: Honey, listen to me. I don't think he wanted to cause any lasting damage. He just wanted me incapacitated for a couple hours.
Sam: Why?
Jason: I'm not sure. He asked me to meet him at the metro court. He needed my help in dealing with one of his rivals.
Sam: Okay. Who?
Jason: He wouldn't say.
Sam: Then that makes it -- ow... you okay? ...Either a lie or a setup.
Jason: No, I don't think so. He seemed genuinely afraid and not just scared for himself, but for his family... for you and Danny.
Dante: So, we'll be searching your residence, your office, your car, basically anything that's got your name on it.
Julian: Yeah, well, in that case, you won't mind if I call my lawyer, right?
Dante: No, no, no. Feel free. You can tell him he'll be looking forward to more billable hours.
Julian: Ah.
[Telephone ringing]
Julian: [Sighs]
[Indistinct conversations]
[Police radio chatter]
Julian: Alexis.
Diane: My client has nothing to say to you.
Julian: Well, that's too bad. Alexis, you need to look at me. Did you confess?
Diane: Why do you care?
Laura: There must have been something that you uncovered about Valentin that we could just use against him in court.
Lulu: It doesn't have to be a crime, necessarily...
Laura: Right.
Lulu: ...Just something that makes him look like an unfit parent.
Anna: Well, I'm sorry. I mean, what I found -- it wouldn't have any bearing on the custody case.
Lulu: So, you did find something?
Anna: Yes, but --
Laura: Whatever it is, we need to know.
Lulu: Please, Anna, this is for my daughter.
Anna: It isn't damning, though. And -- and I am certain it doesn't have anything to do with Charlotte. What I found out is that I -- I knew Valentin. We knew each other years ago.
Valentin: No, I wasn't a spy. And I'm sorry to disappoint you. Actually, back then, I was pretty disappointed in myself.
Nina: I'm not disappointed. I'm -- I'm confused because if you went through training at the WSB...
Valentin: I was a designated analyst. I was a desk agent. They didn't want me in the field.
Nina: Why not?
Valentin: I guess they didn't think I would be that effective.
Nina: That's dumb. They're stupid. You're the most capable man I've ever known.
Valentin: Well, I was a different man back then.
Nina: Different how?
Elizabeth: You saw him attack someone?
Seth: A woman. She was almost too drunk to stand. Tom had a knife. He was all over her. He was threatening her, groping her. That's when I knew he's never gonna stop. I had to be the one to stop him.
Elizabeth: So you defended her.
Seth: Somehow she got the knife away from Tom. She dropped it, and she ran. And I saw my brother so clearly, maybe for the first time. Tom was a predator. Yeah, he wanted to hurt those women. And he was gonna keep doing it. He was gonna keep chasing it. He was gonna keep hunting unless I stopped him. And the knife -- it was just -- it was just -- it was just right there. And I just -- I picked up, and then I just -- I stabbed him. I -- I stabbed that son of a bitch until he was dead.
Elizabeth: So you were defending that woman and me and Emily and all the other women Tom would have gone after in the future. You can't be blamed for that. You don't deserve to be prosecuted.
Seth: Maybe not. But I'm gonna deserve what I get for what I did to Franco.
Orderly: I forgot your paperwork. I'll be right back.
Franco: No. Take your time, really. Where am I gonna go?
[Indistinct conversations]
Franco: All right. Time to go find Elizabeth.
Nurse: My patient -- Franco Baldwin -- needs to speak to you. He says it's urgent.
Nathan: I'm on my way.
Orderly: What the hell? Has anyone seen my patient? I-I only left him to pick up his papers.
Nathan: Who's your patient?
Orderly: Franco Baldwin.
Valentin: You know the reason the WSB wouldn't consider me as a field agent? Same reason I spent so much time in the library as a child. Uh... I had pretty severe scoliosis.
Nina: Oh. Um, a friend in school -- a friend of mine in school had scoliosis. She wore a brace.
Valentin: You know, it's possible a brace would have helped me, but they wouldn't let me wear one 'cause I was a ward of my school and there was money for tuition and that's about it. So I was untreated. By the time I was a teenager, my distortion was pretty pronounced.
Nina: Your distortion?
Valentin: I was a hunchback, part of illustrious club -- Richard III, Quasimodo, Igor...me.
Anna: So, Valentin and I were -- we were working together in the WSB Training Academy way, way back. Um, he was -- he was using another name. I'm in the process of pulling his records.
Lulu: Isn't that illegal -- joining a government agency under false pretenses?
Anna: I don't know. I mean, I don't know the circumstances of his application. Um, he was going under the name Ivan Theodore. It could have been a legal name change, you know? So, I don't see how it would help a custody case.
Laura: When did you realize that you knew Valentin?
Anna: I think I always felt it. I -- there was something in his eyes, and I couldn't quite place it. And -- and that's not really surprising, because he kind of looked a lot different back then... practically unrecognizable.
Jason: I think it's clear that Julian is being squeezed by a very dangerous person, which means his family's in danger. My family is in danger. That's why I want you and Danny to go to the safe house.
Sam: Jason, let's not go to extremes here.
Jason: [Chuckling] I don't think this is extreme. We're up against a woman who planted a bomb in Julian's car, who tried to kill Curtis and me by setting us on fire.
Sam: Yeah, okay, but what if I promise not to break into any buildings or scale any walls? I promise, Jason. Please. I mean, at least until the baby is born. Please, no safe house.
Jason: You're very cute. [Sighs] But I don't think you're fully getting this. I can't find Rudge. I cannot find his boss. So I'm not quite sure I have a way to defend us. We're vulnerable here.
Sam: You just said "we." That means us. You're gonna go to the safe house with us? Is that what you're saying?
Jason: No, I'm not going. I'm gonna find this woman. I'm gonna put an end to this. Sonny will be exonerated, and you and my son will be safe.
Sam: Okay, but you don't even know who this woman is, right? So she could be watching us right now for all you know.
Jason: That's a good point. What if she is? So, maybe I turn the tables on her, make her think I've given up.
Julian: Look, Alexis, I can help you, but you need to tell me what's going on. Did you confess?
Diane: There's nothing to confess because Alexis has done nothing wrong. Do not let this weasel distract you. We've got a hearing to get to.
Alexis: It's okay. I really do need to speak to him.
Diane: All right. I'll go check in with the hearing committee.
Julian: I was, um, sure you confessed to Tom Baker's murder.
Alexis: I did. I recounted the whole story, and I realized that I didn't do it.
Julian: You positive?
Alexis: I never stabbed Tom. I dropped the knife, and I ran.
Julian: [Sighs] Thank God. I'm really relieved to hear that. I mean, aren't you?
Alexis: I didn't kill Tom Baker, but I was blind drunk, and I hit you with a car, and I fled the scene of an accident, and I'm going to tell Dante the whole story.
Dante: What do you mean, you lost Franco? All right, I'm on my way.
Elizabeth: What did you do to Franco?
Seth: I'm so sorry. This isn't who I am.
Elizabeth: Is he alive?
Seth: Barely. I knocked him out. I beat him up. You beat him? I lost it completely. I kept pounding on him, kicking him, and then when I realized what I had done, I-I panicked, and I left him in a storage locker.
Elizabeth: A storage locker? Where? Where is he?
Seth: I had to make the police believe he was Tom's killer, and I ran. Don't you see how bad this is? My life's over. Tom destroyed me just like he destroyed you.
Elizabeth: No, he didn't. He didn't destroy me. Yes, he -- he hurt me. I survived. [Voice breaking] Please. Please, I-I built a life for myself. I have three boys. I have three beautiful sons who need me. And you can survive this, too. You -- the damage Tom started doesn't have to keep going. It can end. It can end right now... if you just let me call the police. [Gasps] Franco!
Seth: [Grunts]
Elizabeth: Franco --
Franco: Son of a bitch!
Seth: [Grunts]
Elizabeth: Stop. Stop, Franco. You're hurting him.
Franco: He deserves it.
Elizabeth: No, no, no. Look at him. He's not even fighting back.
Franco: What were you gonna do to her?
Seth: I don't know.
Franco: Yeah, you do. You were gonna hurt her the way your brother hurt her.
Seth: I'm not like Tom! I don't get off on hurting women! It's all my fault. I killed my brother. I was afraid you were gonna find out about it, so I beat you, and I left you in a locker. And I can't say for certain if I would have come back for you or not.
Franco: I'm guessing not.
Elizabeth: No, no, no!
Seth: Go ahead. Kill me. I deserve it.
Dante: What happened to Franco?
Nathan: He's got to be out of the hospital by now. I got security checking the cameras. Maybe we can get a time for when he left and a description of what he was wearing.
Dante: What about the storage unit he rented?
Nathan: The manager's gonna track down the records. Apparently they keep hard copies. They haven't transitioned into the digital age yet.
Dante: Hmm.
Sanders: Detective West?
Nathan: Yes?
Sanders: This guy says you're expecting him.
Nathan: Thanks, Sanders. You managed to track down the records for the unit?
Man: Got them right here.
Nathan: Appreciate it. The renter is a Rose Henderson. The bills are paid by S. Baker.
Dante: Check out the address.
Sonny: You know who the Jerome enemies are?
Ava: I did. You were at the top of the list.
Sonny: Who else?
Ava: I don't know. Sonny, if it wasn't you that tried to kill Julian, I don't have the foggiest idea who it was.
Sonny: What about internal politics? Anybody eager to rise through the ranks? Anybody die unexpectedly so somebody else can get a promotion?
Ava: Well, there's... one of Julian's men...
Sonny: Mm.
Ava: ...A guy named Hammer. He was killed. Hammer. And Julian's driver -- Pete.
Sonny: What about blood relatives? The Jeromes have any cousins, any, uh, you know, long-lost siblings floating around, anybody who thinks they might have been able to run the business better than your brother?
Ava: No. Julian and I are the last of our generation, sadly. All of our siblings are gone, dead.
Alexis: I need to face what I've done and take responsibility for it.
Julian: Oh, the hell you do.
Alexis: I'm not asking for your input.
Julian: Well, too damn bad, Alexis. Look, I was the victim of your alleged crime. Now, if you confess, I'm gonna go to the police, and I'm gonna tell them I remember who hit me. And it wasn't you.
Alexis: What do you want? To just keep having leverage over me? Is that it?
Julian: No. Alexis, I... [Sighs] I want you to start over with a clean slate. You deserve that.
Alexis: Maybe I do deserve that. Maybe I don't. Either way, I'm not so sure that I'm ready.
Sam: Are you sure about this?
Jason: It's worth a shot. All we have to do is make sure everybody is in the right place at the right time.
Sam: Agreed.
[Door opens]
Felix: The attending's looking at your labs. It's up to her whether you go home or stay the night.
Sam: Um, while we're waiting, could you tell me when Julian -- my dad -- when his physical therapy appointment is?
Felix: Ah. Patient information is confidential. And I certainly can't show you the therapy schedule...
Sam: Aw.
Felix: ...Which is printed out and kept next to the monitor at the nurse's station. So don't ask.
Sam: I really like that guy.
Jason: [Chuckles]
Laura: So, what do you remember about your time with Valentin?
Anna: Oh, bits and pieces, really. I mean, it was a relatively brief acquaintance.
Lulu: So, he didn't stay with the WSB. He must have done something wrong?
Anna: I don't know. Um, if I were to be honest with you, back then... he really seemed like a kind of decent guy. Yeah, he was really good at languages and logistics and an excellent planner. And our courses kind of overlapped. And -- and we would help each other. This sounds really weird, but back then, at the academy, I regarded Valentin as a friend.
Nina: Don't call yourself a hunchback.
Valentin: Why not?
Nina: 'Cause it's not politically correct?
Valentin: Oh, I assure you, in my case, it was completely accurate. I had a, uh, cranial-facial distortion on the right side of my face -- completely fixable, but they didn't. But the worst part was the scoliosis. By the time I was an adult, I had a 55-degree Cobb angle to my spine. It caused the muscles in my left arm to be in a constant state of contraction. That was very painful. My left shoulder was 10 inches higher than my right. It caused my right arm to dangle. My chest was twisted, and my ribs stuck out.
Nina: That must have been awful.
Valentin: It wasn't great. And it hurt a lot. And of course, there was the...pity... the revulsion... bullying. But that fueled my anger. I learned to solve conflict using strategy, not brute force. But there's not much you can do about pity and revulsion except hide. So I went to the library, where I wouldn't have to deal with their looks, pretending not to see my face and my twisted body... 'cause that's all they could see. No one ever saw me at all. And that's the way my life would have gone... my spine just getting more and more twisted until it finally compromised my lungs and then my heart. And then there was Anna. She changed everything.
Nina: So, it was Anna who encouraged you to get treatment?
Valentin: No. No. You don't treat a 55-degree Cobb angle. You undergo a series of very complicated and painful surgeries to straighten the spine, to fuse the vertebrae into one longer bone. It's very hazardous, and like I said, it's very painful.
Nina: And Anna was with you during the surgeries?
Valentin: No. She inspired me. Anna, um -- she never pitied me. Or if she did, she just hid it better than everybody else. We helped each other with our schoolwork. She was my friend. Then one day I made a mistake. I -- I tried to kiss her. She was horrified, disgusted.
Nina: She said that?
Valentin: No, not in so many words.
Nina: Wow. My God.
Valentin: Well, you didn't know me back then. You wouldn't have wanted to kiss a hunchback, either.
Nina: Listen to me. I'm glad you got all the surgeries... because it made you tall and strong... and you deserve to be all of those things. And, um... ...I'm gonna be honest. I've known some really beautiful, gorgeous people who are hideous inside, including Anna Devane.
Valentin: No.
Nina: Yes, yes, because she couldn't see how incredible you are. But I do. What are you doing?
Valentin: [Voice breaking] I'm looking for pity... and disgust.
Nina: [Voice breaking] You can look all you want because you're never, ever gonna find that...ever. The only thing you're gonna see on my face is how much you mean to me.
Valentin: Thank you. Thank you for listening to me.
Nina: Thank you for telling me.
[Kiss]
Nina: I'd love to stay out here some more, but if I do, I'm gonna freeze to death.
Valentin: Yeah, why don't I take you home?
Nina: Okay. [Exhales sharply] Before we go, I have to do one thing. There is an errand I have to run.
Valentin: Okay.
Nina: Okay?
Anna: So, there was a -- a goodness in Valentin then, when I -- when I knew him back at the academy. And if I'm to be honest, I have seen that same goodness in the way he interacts with Charlotte. So, I don't know if there is any possibility that you could kind of meet him halfway or...
Lulu: I'm sorry. Are you advising me to co-parent with the man who murdered my brother?
Anna: No. No. I'm not.
Lulu: [Scoffs]
Laura: Honey, listen, listen. I think you do have to consider the long game here. If you agreed to the shared custody, it would give you the time you need to bond with Charlotte while we build our case against Valentin as an unfit parent.
Lulu: I guess. It's late. I just -- I just remembered something that I needed to do. So, um, I'll see you at home?
Laura: Of course, yes, you will.
Lulu: Oh, Anna, um... thank you for your time. If you uncover anything else about Valentin --
Anna: Oh, yeah, I will let you know. Yes, I will. [Sighs]
[Door closes]
Laura: [Sighs] You know what? I have to say this. I get the feeling there's something you are not telling me about your time with Valentin.
Anna: Something happened, Laura, and I have no idea what it is, but...[Sighs] Valentin is obsessed with it. And he blames me for it, and he wants me to pay.
Laura: Be careful. You know, this good man that you talk about who was your friend -- if he ever existed, he is long gone now. He's evil. He's dangerous. He killed my son.
Anna: Yes, I know.
Laura: No, you do not know. And listen to me. If he does anything to hurt my daughter, I will kill him.
Alexis: I've been preparing for this hearing for months now. I know exactly what to say to get my license reinstated. What I don't know is how to get from the hearing to my house without stopping at a liquor store.
Julian: I know you're scared about staying sober. You don't have to go through it alone, Alexis.
Alexis: [Scoffs] Well, I don't see a huge lineup of people offering to support me.
Julian: Well, I am. Look, I'll drive you anywhere you want to go. I will walk you from the car to the courthouse, and not because I'm trying to insinuate myself back into your life, but because I care about you, Alexis, even if it is only as your friend.
Diane: Okay. I have stalled the review committee as long as I possibly can. You ready to get your license back?
Jason: Hey. Did you get it?
Sam: Of course, I got it. Julian has a physical therapy appointment on this floor -- ohh -- in a half an hour.
Jason: Nice work. We're gonna have to do this fast.
Ava: I don't appreciate you using my visit with Avery as some kind of excuse to interrogate me.
[Cell phone ringing]
Sonny: I got to take this. What do you got?
Elizabeth: Franco, don' t do it.
Franco: [Breathing heavily as he squeezes Seth's neck]
Seth: Go ahead. Just do it. I deserve it.
Elizabeth: No. Don't.
Franco: [Grunting] I used to think that I had this gift, right, that I was so special, that I was -- I was entitled to decide who lived and who died. And I don't want to do that. I don't want to think like that anymore. I don't want to be that guy. I don't. I don't. Elizabeth, I don't. It's because of you.
Dante: Police.
Nathan: Police! Freeze.
Dante: Put your hands where we can see them.
Franco: Nobody's armed.
Seth: I'll cooperate.
Elizabeth: Dante, Franco's innocent. He's here for me.
Dante: Okay. Put your hands down.
Franco: Okay. It's a good thing you're here, right? Like 20 minutes late, pointing the gun at the wrong guy, but it's a good thing you're here.
Elizabeth: Shut up. Just -- just shut the hell up, please.
Sonny: I got to take this.
Ava: Should I go.
Sonny: Yeah.
Ava: You're very welcome.
Sonny: What do you need?
Jason: Is there any way you could get to the hospital in the next half-hour? I could really use a visit from my old friend.
Alexis: I do want to talk to the committee... to tell them that I'm not ready to get my license back.
Diane: What did he do to you? Did he drug you? Did he hypnotize you? Are you having a complete psychotic break? Of course, you want your license back.
Alexis: Not now, not yet. I don't want to practice law when I feel this way. I need to wait till I'm ready, and I-I'm not there yet, which is what I want to tell the committee.
Diane: Well, I'm going to tell them that you're writing a novel.
Julian: [Sighs] You know, the offer still stands. You need a ride home, I've got a car and a driver waiting outside.
Alexis: I can make it on my own.
Julian: That I have no doubt. Hey, Alexis... ...I'm proud of you. [Sighs]
[Doorbell rings]
Anna: By all means, come in.
Nina: Let's get this over with. What do you want with my husband?
Valentin: I thought it would be better we met here rather than Wyndemere. I don't want Charlotte hearing anything else from you that's gonna upset her further.
Lulu: That's why I asked to see you. Can we sit?
Valentin: Please. [Sighs]
Lulu: We need to talk about our daughter.
Nathan: You have the right to remain silent.
Elizabeth: So, that's proof.
Nathan: If you give up that right, anything you say...
Elizabeth: Tom was still a threat.
Dante: Yeah, it looks like it.
Nathan: You have the right to an attorney.
Franco: Looks like -- what? I think what you meant to say is, "Thank you," 'cause she solved your whole case.
Dante: Wow.
Elizabeth: Franco, stop.
Dante: Thank you.
Nathan: Yes. Let's go.
Dante: [Sighs] I'm gonna need you both to come down to the station, so you can make a statement.
Elizabeth: He's hurt. He needs to go back to the hospital.
Dante: Okay, well, there's a squad car outside. You can have an escort. Is that good?
Elizabeth: Thank you.
Dante: All right.
Franco: Hospital? Really? Like, with all the monitors and the needles and all those disapproving people? I mean, do I have to go?
Elizabeth: Yes. Yes, you have to 'cause you need medical care. And I happen to know a really excellent nurse.
