Connie: Connie Falconeri -- Editor in Chief of Crimson Magazine.
[Elevator bell dings]
Connie: [Chuckles]
Olivia: Welcome back, cuz.
Connie: Oh. You heard?
Olivia: Got the whole complicated story.
Connie: Yeah. Well, I'm glad Sonny told you. It's one less person I have to explain myself to.
Olivia: I still got a couple questions...starting with, "What the hell are you thinking?!"
Connie: Ow. Why'd you do that?
Olivia: Why do you think?
Connie: Well, why don't you enlighten me?
Olivia: Why did you break up with Sonny?
Carly: So, I've gone around and around about this, and my first impulse was to tell you, but then I thought that I... well, I should think about it, but then I know I should tell you.
Sonny: You don't have to tell me.
Carly: Yes, I do. I have to tell you this, okay? The night of the Nurses' Ball, Brenda seduced Michael.
Sonny: I already know all that.
Carly: You know?
Sonny: Yeah, I know.
Carly: Then why isn't Brenda dead yet?
Sonny: I know that you're angry, but you know what?
Carly: Michael's our son! We have every right to be angry! Tell me you don't want to murder Brenda for sleeping with Michael!
AJ: I don't believe it.
Brenda: [Chuckling] Oh, my goodness.
AJ: Brenda Barrett. Come here. Give me a hug. Wow. Long time. Mm.
Brenda: Hi, AJ.
AJ: Hey. You, uh -- you know my son, Michael, don't you?
Brenda: Of course. Michael.
Michael: Brenda.
AJ: This is...wow.
Brenda: I was gonna, um, say hello to you at the Nurses' Ball, but I didn't get a chance.
AJ: No, it's all right. Come on, you were taking pictures with the paparazzi, and...
Brenda: [Chuckles]
AJ: ...Throwing food at Carly, and... having sex with my son.
Elizabeth: I've got good news. [Sighs]
Nikolas: Psst!
Elizabeth: [Gasps] What the hell do you think you're doing?
Rafe: Where's the judge?
Alexis: We really need to find someone that's willing to take Rafe in, preferably somebody in Port Charles.
Sam: Mom, that's not gonna be easy. We're the only ones that know Rafe. I don't know. Maybe you can call Anna --
Lucy: I know exactly who should do it. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I know the absolute person who should be Rafe's guardian.
Sam: Who?
Lucy: You.
Sam: Me?
Lucy: Yes, you. You, Sam Morgan. You're the perfect person to take the responsibility of Rafe.
Rafe: I don't really mean to eavesdrop, but I'm pretty sure I just heard my name.
Lucy: Yes, you did hear your name, because that's why we are all here -- because we care so much about you, and because we want to find some place for you to live and somebody that cares for you and can take care of you, and it's Sam!
Sam: Um...
Molly: Wait. What -- what's Sam?
Lucy: Sam! Sam is the perfect person to be Rafe's foster parent.
Sam: While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I do not think I'm the best candidate for the job.
Alexis: You know, I mean, taking on another human being is a huge responsibility, and she's been through so much.
Molly: Okay, but, Mom, what if Sam doesn't take Rafe in? He cannot go back to that group home.
Lucy: She's right. Absolutely cannot go back to that group home, and we're kind of running out of options. We have nothing. We have zero, none, now.
Molly: Okay, there is one other possibility. Um, Rafe could always stay at our house. I mean, we have plenty of room.
Lucy: There we go. Mom, come on. What a great idea, right? You have your lovely teenage daughter under the same roof with that handsome, hunky teenage boy, and I guess those hormones will just heat the place up until your whole house bursts into flames. Not to mention -- oh, poor TJ, sitting around wondering, "What the heck is that Molly and Rafe up to? What are they doing?"
TJ: Yeah, not exactly loving the idea.
Alexis: Yeah.
Lucy: No, nor should you love that idea. That's why Sam is the only option.
Rafe: Look, this really isn't necessary, okay?
Lucy: Yes, it is, Rafe. Sam, Rafe saved Danny. Rafe protected your child from a serial killer. Please. You at least owe him that much. Please, take him in.
Elizabeth: Hey. Just because you're out of ICU doesn't mean you're ready for a triathlon.
Nikolas: I'm just stretching my legs.
Elizabeth: You almost died, remember?
Nikolas: Yeah, how can I forget when everyone keeps reminding me?
Elizabeth: Your heart stopped twice. Let's not make it a third time, please.
Nikolas: Elizabeth, I-I can't lie in that bed anymore hooked up to all those machines. It's driving me crazy.
Elizabeth: All right. Okay. I hear you. So, I assume you spoke to your doctor, and he said it was fine to take a walk, and that you weren't gonna bust any stitches, spike a fever, nothing like that?
Nikolas: I --
Elizabeth: Oh, will you look at this? [Chuckles] Your doctor prescribed bed rest.
Nikolas: I'm fine, okay? Now, come on. You said you had good news. What is it?
Elizabeth: Oh, I'm not gonna tell you anything until you sit down.
Nikolas: All right, you happy? I promise I will allow you to take care of me... but you have to meet me halfway. What's this big announcement?
Elizabeth: Your sister's coming home.
Brenda: I, uh -- I didn't realize you were gonna talk to people about that.
AJ: Hey, guys, my lips are sealed.
Brenda: That's not my point, AJ.
AJ: No, I know. I mean, I just -- I don't think there's anything for you to feel bad about, you know? You're both adults. You're both single. Not related, right? I mean, maybe you were at one point, but...
Brenda: We're not related, AJ.
AJ: It would have been a technicality, anyways, right? Look, I think it's great the way you two have both made this meaningful...connection, and, uh, well, Frankly, the fact that Carly caught you both in bed [Chuckling] just makes my day.
Carly: Michael told you?
Sonny: Yesterday. He was waiting for me when I got home. He had his tux on from the Nurses' Ball. I knew something was wrong with him. He looked pretty bad.
Carly: Great.
Sonny: But not in a million years did I think that he would sleep with Brenda.
Carly: Oh, okay, wait a second. It's the other way around. Brenda slept with him. She instigated it.
Sonny: I get it.
Carly: No, I just want to make sure we're clear on this, okay? Michael's girlfriend called him and told him she wasn't coming home. Michael was devastated. He went to the lobby bar. He got drunk. Sonny, he was emotional. He was vulnerable, and Brenda took advantage of him.
Sonny: Yeah, she did.
Carly: Yeah. I mean, my God, she used to be his stepmother. Michael trusted her, and she exploited him, sexually.
Sonny: I don't want to talk about it right now.
Carly: We have to talk about it. We have to talk about it, and we have to deal with what this woman did to Michael, and I don't want to hear you or anyone else tell me that Michael is a legal adult, because his judgment was impaired, and Brenda was an authority figure in his life, and she abused him.
Sonny: I couldn't even think about, you know, this. Last night, I couldn't sleep, because picturing them -- Michael and Brenda -- in bed together -- if I'm in the same room with her, I'm gonna lose my mind.
Carly: That is exactly what she deserves.
Sonny: But then again -- but if I do something to Brenda, then, you know, Michael's gonna blame himself. So the only way for Michael not to be hurt is to leave this alone.
Carly: Leave it alone?
Sonny: Yeah. Yeah.
Carly: You can't leave it alone! Brenda is still after Michael!
Olivia: Yeah. I just talked to Sonny. Poor man is wandering around that big house of his, hanging on to a picture of you from high school. It's enough to break your heart.
Connie: Liv, I didn't have a choice. It's what the doctors said.
Olivia: The doctors who did such a terrible job integrating you, you can't even trust yourself around the man you love. I would sue them for malpractice.
Connie: It's not the doctors. It's me. It's the split in my psyche.
Olivia: Which I thought they were supposed to be gluing back together. Instead, they send you out in the world so fragile, you can't even function.
Connie: I am functioning. That's the whole point of me coming back here --
Olivia: This isn't functioning, Connie.
Connie: Oh, boy.
Olivia: This is hiding out in your office. This is no cure. Look, look, I'm not a doctor, but I've been through a thing or two or three in my life, and I know that you don't get any better unless you take responsibility.
Connie: That's exactly what I'm doing. Look, I'm not hiding from Sonny. I-I confronted him, I explained my reasoning, and I ended our relationship.
Olivia: After he stuck by you through thick and thin? First you're Kate, then you're Connie, then you're Kate again? I mean, who can keep track? Any other guy would have run away, but he fought for you.
Connie: No.
Olivia: He made sure that you got therapy. He found the doctors, and then, what? Now that you're all better, you just kick him to the curb?
Connie: I love Sonny. And you know that. You think I want to leave him, walk out of his life? That's the price I had to pay, Liv, to integrate Kate and Connie into one person.
Olivia: And who is this person? Is this my cousin Connie from Bensonhurst? Is this the snooty fashion editor? Who is it? Is it both?
Connie: I have all of Kate's and all of Connie's memories. It's like -- I don't know -- the two of them finally came to a truce.
Olivia: Okay. Well, I'm real happy for you, cuz, except you're not making any sense.
Connie: No, I'm not telling you what you want to hear, Liv.
Olivia: You're telling me you're whole, and you're healthy, and all you have to do is completely stay away from the person you love most in the world.
Connie: Yes. Because it is a dysfunctional relationship, not because of Sonny -- because of me, because of my illness, all right? Being around Sonny undermines my recovery.
Olivia: Here's what I don't get. You're Kate, and you're Connie. Kate and Connie both love Sonny. Sonny loves Connie and Kate. What is the problem?
Sonny: Jax left Brenda, and when she's hurt, she self-destructs. She gets reckless. I'm sure that, you know, all she was thinking about that night was being alone, and then Michael came in, and it wasn't exactly what you think it is.
Carly: Sonny, Brenda slept with Michael to pay me back.
Sonny: How do you know that?
Carly: Because she all but told me.
Sonny: I don't want you to tell me what you think you know. I want you to tell me what you know.
Carly: What I know is the next morning after the Nurses' Ball, there was a waiter with a room-service cart outside of Brenda's door.
Sonny: Right.
Carly: She ordered breakfast for two. I told the waiter to go away. I took the cart inside, and there was Brenda in bed, naked.
Sonny: You saw Michael there?
Carly: Not at first! Brenda got out of the bed. She put a robe on, and I was telling her to get the hell out of my hotel, and I saw a tux on the floor. So I was giving her a hard time about bringing a stranger home, and she had a big smile on her face. She couldn't wait to tell me that it wasn't a stranger in her bed.
Sonny: Go on.
Carly: I thought that it was Jax. I thought that she manipulated him back into her life, and then I thought, "Well, no, that would never happen. Maybe it's Sonny." God, how I wish it were you! [Sighs] I walked over, and I ripped the covers off the bed, and there was Michael... naked and -- and confused. Sonny, he was so hung over, he had no idea where he was.
Sonny: What did -- what did Brenda say?
Carly: "Oh, this isn't what it looks like."
Sonny: She didn't give an explanation?
Carly: She told me to leave! She told me to leave -- that a mother shouldn't be in the room when her son is with a woman, and that Michael is a legal adult, and all that that implies.
Sonny: I'm surprised you didn't go for her throat.
Carly: I couldn't. Michael... [Sighs] Michael was embarrassed, and he was trying so hard to be a gentleman and stand up and do the right thing and take responsibility. Sonny, it would have broken your heart.
Sonny: I'm sure it broke your heart.
Carly: Brenda slept with Michael to get back at me for telling Jax the truth. It was all about revenge, okay? And she's not done, Sonny. You have got to stop Brenda from ruining Michael's life.
AJ: Hey, you two, please, don't start judging each other, okay? Come on, let's be honest here. I mean, take a look at him. He's a good-looking kid, right? Apple doesn't fall far from the tree -- and you are as beautiful as you've always been, so why wouldn't you be attracted to each other?
Michael: AJ, that's enough, okay?
Brenda: Yeah, I don't think you're helping anything, AJ.
AJ: What is there to help? It is what it is. You know, you're both adults doing what consenting adults do.
Michael: [Sighs] Didn't you say you wanted to go to the hospital to see Elizabeth?
AJ: No.
Michael: You sure?
AJ: No, yeah. I'm gonna -- I get it. You guys want to be alone. Cool. Listen, it really was good seeing you. Take care of my son, and just be good to each other. Have fun.
Michael: [Sighs]
Alexis: While I have so much sympathy for what Rafe is going through, I mean, Sam has been through a lot, too. I mean, she's newly widowed.
Lucy: I know. Are you forgetting, though? She could empathize with Rafe, because he just lost his mother.
Alexis: Well, and she has shown her support when she showed up to testify. She has a little baby at home.
Lucy: I'm well aware of that. You need help. Rafe could help you with Danny. He's wonderful with Danny. You know that.
TJ: Yeah. That could work. What? He could babysit.
Lucy: Yes, and it's a much better situation...
Sam: [Sighs]
Lucy: Than him living with you guys and your teenage daughter, right? And besides, none of us want to see Rafe back in that group home -- not one more night.
Alexis: I certainly don't want that to happen, but I know that there will be other foster parents. We just need to find them.
Lucy: Oh, really? Yeah, there are lots of foster parents for 2-year-olds and maybe 4-year-olds with dimples, but not for teenagers who have ties to vampi-- I said it! Ties to serial killers that are mentally ill that think they're v-- the "V" word.
Molly: Somehow, that sounds even worse.
Lucy: It -- it is. Don't you see? He can't get away from that. He can't get away from who his biological father is, but we know the difference, don't we? We know he's a wonderful, wonderful person, and, Sam, you are in the perfect position to help Rafe.
Molly: So, what do you think, Sam?
Rafe: You don't have to say anything, okay? I understand.
Sam: [Sighs]
Rafe: And I appreciate all of you trying to find a place for me. You know, especially you, Lucy. I'm so grateful that you tried to be my guardian. Okay, but I'll be okay, and it's like Ms. Davis said -- you know, Sam has a baby of her own, and I don't want to be anyone's burden.
Molly: No, hey, you're not a burden. Tell him, Sam.
Alexis: Molly, don't pressure her.
Sam: No, no, no, Mom. Mom, I think Lucy's right. Having Rafe live with Danny and me -- I think maybe it's not such a terrible idea. You did risk your life to protect my son not only from Caleb, but from that crazy Heather Webber, which is even worse. I don't think there's any way I could actually repay you.
Rafe: You don't have to repay me. Danny is a baby. Anyone would have done the same thing.
Sam: No, no. It wasn't just anyone keeping my child safe when I walked in there in Wyndemere.
Molly: Rafe, you're a hero.
Sam: You are. Besides, you're my sister's friend, and like Lucy knows, I have plenty of space.
Lucy: Three bedrooms, as I remember, upstairs, three baths, and a couple rooms downstairs. Perfect big house.
Alexis: Can I talk to you for a second, over here?
Sam: Of course, Mom.
Alexis: I just want to make sure that you don't feel pressured.
Sam: What -- what are you talking about? Rafe needs a place to go, and my place does feel pretty empty with Jason gone.
Alexis: I know, but just keep in mind he's a teenage boy. He's been raised on the street. That's all he knows. He's always been on the move. He's got an erratic mother.
Sam: I know. I was raised very similar. Although, I mean, the details were a little bit different, but I understand what he's going through. Besides, Danny is crazy about him. Mom, the more I think about it, the more I do think it's the right thing to do.
Alexis: Because Rafe needs you?
Sam: Because I know Jason would do the same thing.
Michael: You okay?
Brenda: Mm-hmm. No, I'm fine. [Chuckles] Uh, your mom kicked me out of the Metro Court, which is fine, 'cause I'm at the Cosmopolitan now, which I love. That's where Jax and I should have just stayed to begin with, and, um... so, anyway, I'm getting ready to go home to Rome, so... I really miss my son.
Michael: Oh, so you're -- so, you're leaving?
Brenda: Yeah, I think that's probably best.
Michael: [Inhales deeply] Uh... look, um, before you go...
Brenda: Uh...
Michael: Look, you said that we had nothing to be ashamed of...
Brenda: Mm-hmm.
Michael: ...But, uh, I owed it to someone to tell them what happened with us.
Brenda: Who's "someone"?
Michael: My dad. Sonny.
Carly: I was gonna have security throw Brenda out on the street in her bathrobe, but my mom was there, and she talked me out of it. She told me to calm down. So, I'm sitting there in the lobby, and I'm looking at pictures of Michael on my cell phone, and Brenda dangles Michael's black tie in my face, says she found it in her bed, and that Michael must have had such a great time that he forgot it.
Sonny: That's when you hit her?
Carly: No. She -- no. She went on about, you know, what a creepy mother I am, and that Michael is old enough and mature enough to do whatever he wants and be with whoever he wants to be with, and that when she was with Michael, one thing led to another and another and another, and that's when I hit her.
Sonny: She say anything?
Carly: She said that she and Michael were consenting adults, and that I was turning it into something ugly.
Sonny: You? You were making it ugly? I mean, what could be more pure and innocent than Brenda sleeping with her own stepson? I hate what she did to Michael. At best, she was stupid. At worst, she manipulated our son. She hurt him, Carly. Years of history.
Carly: Then do something about it!
Sonny: What do you want me to do? You want me to shoot her?
Carly: I want her gone!
Sonny: I can't do that right now!
Carly: And you have to make it happen!
Sonny: I can't! Not right now. I got a lot of...
Carly: Why not?!
Sonny: Connie left me.
Connie: Yes, both Kate and Connie love Sonny, but they love him in different ways, Liv, and if I stay with him, they might start battling for control and tearing me and my life apart. I cannot go through that again.
Olivia: But they're both you, yeah?
Connie: Yes and no. That's the problem because both personalities have integrated. So if I do anything to disrupt the balance -- like when Heather Webber gave you that overdose, you thought you were losing your mind. You were scared out of your mind.
Olivia: I still am scared to this very day.
Connie: And that is how I feel. I cannot go through it again, Liv. I cannot do it again.
Olivia: Okay. Oh. Okay, I understand the concept of saying that you're giving up men. I do it half a dozen times a year, but -- but -- but to say that you're gonna give up the one man that you've loved your entire life? Honey, that's giving up a lot.
Connie: I know that, and it's not going to be easy.
Olivia: I mean, I guess you did it once before. You cut all your ties with your friends and your family. You turned yourself into Kate Howard. I guess you could do it again, but --
Connie: That was different, Liv. That was me hiding, and now I'm -- I'm trying to rebuild my life.
Olivia: Without Sonny?
Connie: Yes, without Sonny.
Olivia: Okay, here's my advice. It's not fair to you or to Sonny to tell him that you're done and then turn around and change your mind, okay? So, forget what the doctors are saying. You need to take a hard look at whether or not you are really, really ready to give up Sonny for good.
Elizabeth: Luke and Laura and Dante and Lulu have left your family's island. They were in Athens last night, and so, by now, they're coming home.
Nikolas: [Sighs] And my father?
Elizabeth: I don't know.
Nikolas: Well, I'm sure he's dead. I mean, I... [Groans] I'm okay. I can't imagine it ending any other way. I just hope Lulu's all right, you know, that he didn't hurt her in any way.
Elizabeth: Well, she's on her way home. She can't be too seriously hurt.
Nikolas: Yeah. It's just when I think about what could have happened, you know, it drives me --
Elizabeth: Don't. Don't think about it. The worst is over. Lulu's safe, and you're gonna see her soon.
Nikolas: Thank you so much.
Elizabeth: I didn't do anything.
Nikolas: Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Ah.
Connie: It's not an accident that my personality splintered when Sonny and I started seeing each other again, Liv.
Olivia: Wait, wait, wait. You blame him?
Connie: No. I don't... blame Sonny. I blame my illness -- the traumas that I -- that I couldn't handle, the need for me to break apart from myself so that one part of me went off and forgot, and the other part had to stay here and guard all the ugliness. Sonny was not the cause. He was the catalyst. His presence brought back those memories for me, those feelings.
Olivia: Honey, isn't that the whole point of the integration therapy?
Connie: [Sighs]
Olivia: Is to work through all that so there's no more secrets, and now nothing is repressed? How could Sonny possibly hurt you anymore?
Connie: Because, if anything, my love for him has doubled. [Chuckles] And those emotions -- they swamp me.
Olivia: Well, I think I get it. It's like you -- you can't be a little bit in love with Sonny. Is that it? You got to be all in like a -- like someone who's a competent swimmer in a swimming pool, but you stick them out in open water in the middle of a riptide, and...
Connie: They'll drown. Yeah. For my sanity, I have to let Sonny go.
Sonny: So, I-I get her in treatment, and I'm waiting for her to come back... only to find out that, you know, in order for her to be well and whole, she can't be with me.
Carly: I understand how bad it hurts, you know, when you have to let somebody go, so you don't destroy each other.
Sonny: Then this thing with Brenda -- I mean [Sighs] I thought she was out of my life, you know? I thought she was, you know, safely in my past. Then she shows up at the door with -- talking about a letter that she wrote and that she was waiting for me in Rome, and she's marrying Jax, and that maybe we could try again. Why would she even ask me that, and then betray me with my own son?
Carly: Bec-- 'cause she wants to matter to you.
Sonny: She doesn't give a damn. I mean, why would -- if she did, why would she crawl into bed with Michael? But you're right. She hurt you, and she hurt me, 'cause I turned her down, and she had to do the worst thing that would cause the most pain, and I think, you know, look -- you know what that's about. I mean, in that way, you're a lot like Brenda. I mean --
Carly: That is the meanest thing you've ever said to me.
Brenda: Uh...you told Sonny what, exactly? That -- that we...slept together?
Michael: Yeah. He's my father. You know, I owe him the truth.
Brenda: Yeah. You know you have the right to keep your personal life private?
Michael: You said that it wasn't a big deal, that we didn't do anything wrong. And I -- I'm glad that you don't regret what happened, but I should have never been with you.
Brenda: And now you feel guilty.
Michael: Yeah. I had to accept responsibility and ask for forgiveness.
Brenda: [Chuckles] This is all Carly's fault. Amazing. Look, your mom walked in and overreacted, and she has made you feel that you've done something horrible, and you haven't.
Michael: This has nothing to do with my mom. [Sighs] It was a choice I made.
Brenda: Why did you feel like you needed to tell Sonny about this? You knew it would just upset him.
Michael: You were married to him. He loves you, and I betrayed him. Look, keeping a secret like that is the same thing as lying. I had to tell him.
Brenda: [Chuckles] I really wish you hadn't have done that.
Alexis: You remember Jason's not here to help you. You're gonna be doing this all by yourself. You're still grieving. I just want to make sure you're really up for this.
Sam: Mom, I have -- I have been so blessed. Yes, I-I lost Jason, but I have his son, and Jason has provided us with a really beautiful home, and I have enough money to last me a lifetime. I've got you. I've got Molly. I've got Kristina. And I think -- I don't know -- Rafe could make my home feel a little less lonely.
Alexis: I'm proud of you.
Sam: [Exhales deeply] Okay. I'm willing to try this if you are.
Molly: You mean it?
Lucy: Oh! Oh, oh, oh! Well done, well done, well played. I'm so glad when someone has a vision after I give them so much guidance!
Sam: Hold on. This is not a done deal. I mean, this is only gonna happen if you want it to.
Rafe: Sure. I mean, it's worth a try, right?
Alexis: Okay, let's go talk to the judge.
Sam: Okay.
Lucy: [Squealing] Yes! [Giggles]
Elizabeth: Okay, I'll say it. I was so scared I could barely breathe.
Nikolas: Oh, that makes, uh, two of us.
[Knocks on door]
AJ: Is this a bad time?
Elizabeth: Hi.
AJ: I can come back, if you want.
Elizabeth: No, no, no. Come in. Come in. I just got really good news. They found Lulu, and everyone's coming home.
AJ: That's terrific.
Elizabeth: Yeah.
Nikolas: Yeah. AJ, I heard you were back in town.
AJ: Oh, I cheated death. Guess you did, too.
Nikolas: Yeah. Yeah. I guess I did. I'm very grateful to the G.H. staff, and, uh -- and to my family for pulling me through this.
AJ: I thought your family was in Greece.
Nikolas: Right. I was actually referring to my Aunt Alexis and Elizabeth, of course. I understand that you barely left my side.
AJ: Here you are, all healed up.
Nikolas: Yeah.
AJ: Told you there was nothing to worry about.
Elizabeth: [Chuckles] I haven't heard from you in a while. Is everything okay?
AJ: Yeah, no, fine. You know, I've been busy with ELQ, and, uh, you know, I know you've been here at the hospital taking care of Nikolas.
Elizabeth: You can always call me here or text me.
AJ: I'll remember that.
Elizabeth: You sure you're okay?
[Pager buzzes]
Elizabeth: Oh, wait. Hold that thought. I'm sorry. Oh, I got to take this. Um, I'll be right back, okay? And, you, get back into bed.
Nikolas: Yes, ma'am.
AJ: So, good news about Lulu, right?
Nikolas: Very good news.
AJ: Hmm. You know, Nikolas, since we have a moment alone, uh, I think there's a few things that you and I need to get straight.
Nikolas: I-I wasn't aware of any unfinished business that we had. I mean, up until a few months ago, I thought you were dead, you know... if I thought of you at all, but, uh -- but what would you like to discuss?
AJ: Well, I don't know if Elizabeth had time to tell you this, but we've been seeing each other.
Nikolas: Oh, I was not aware of that. Sorry, we've been focused on some other things.
AJ: I understand that you've had a complicated history with her, that you were more than friends while I was away.
Nikolas: Oh, you mean while you were dead.
AJ: [Chuckles] Nikolas, we have a good thing going on, and I don't plan on letting you get in the middle of it.
Nikolas: [Sighs] AJ. [Clears throat] Are you asking me to stay away from Elizabeth?
AJ: No, of course not. You're Cam and Aiden's uncle. I wouldn't do that. But I do think what happened between you and Elizabeth was intense and it was traumatic and -- I don't know -- maybe it's not the best thing for her right now.
Nikolas: Just so we're clear, my history is my business, okay? And as for you seeing Elizabeth, prospect doesn't thrill me.
AJ: Is that a fact?
Nikolas: That is. I mean, you've had a complicated history of your own, yes? I mean, let's go through the list here. There's the drinking, uh, the accident that left your brother brain-dead, the multiple counts of kidnapping, the fact that you shot your father while Emily watched -- I mean, do I really need to go on here?
AJ: All those charges were dropped.
Nikolas: Just because you have enough money to buy yourself out of trouble doesn't make you right for Elizabeth.
AJ: Oh, and you think you're qualified to make that judgment?
Nikolas: You have a problem with that?
AJ: So what if I do?
Elizabeth: What's going on?
Lucy: What is going on with you two?
TJ: [Sighs] Me and Rafe?
Lucy: No, you silly goose. Not you and Rafe -- you and Molly.
TJ: Oh. Well, we're in a good place, you know, for now. I'm just trying to take Shawn's advice. You know Shawn, my guardian?
Lucy: Oh. Yeah. The guy that runs Kelly's.
TJ: That's him. Anyway, he just, uh -- he told me to kind of back off Rafe and just kind of be as supportive as possible, so she doesn't have to choose sides.
Lucy: Oh, well, smart man, your guy, there, right?
TJ: [Chuckles] He does all right for himself, but I'm still glad you came up with that idea -- you know, Rafe going to Sam's.
Lucy: Yeah, I think it's the best solution, considering.
TJ: Yeah, considering Molly hasn't stopped talking about Rafe since he got to town, so, you know, them being in the same household is a little bit too accessible, if you know what I mean.
Lucy: Yeah. I know what you mean.
TJ: [Chuckles]
Rafe: I'm just saying, Molly. It's not a lock.
Molly: Then we'll run away.
Rafe: No. I've been running my whole life, Molly, and I would never do that to you.
Molly: I'm not letting you go back to that group home, no matter what.
Lucy: Do they look happy? Do they look happy? Is it good news?
Alexis: The judge is withdrawing from you and offering foster care to Sam.
Lucy: Okay, cut to the chase.
Alexis: However, there are formalities here that we have to take into consideration. There are provisions.
[All talking]
Sam: Yes! Yes. He said yes.
Lucy: Yes!
Alexis: All right, but there are provisions. It's temporary...
Lucy: [Inhales deeply]
Alexis: Which means that you have 90 days before the judge reviews it again.
Molly: That's a whole three months!
TJ: That's fantastic.
Rafe: So -- so, what happens now?
Sam: Well, we [Chuckling] We get out of here, assuming you're ready to go.
Rafe: I just can't believe this is happening.
Sam: Well, believe it. Come on.
Lucy: [Breathlessly] Okay. [Exhales deeply]
Alexis: Yes! Whoo!
Molly: [Laughs]
Lucy: Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Carly: We both know what it's like to sleep with someone for revenge. We did it together.
Sonny: When Jason got shot, and he walked in on us, and we were in...
Carly: Yeah. We hated each other. It was wrong, it was messed up, but we were adults. We knew what we were doing. Michael didn't. Brenda took advantage of him.
Sonny: I agree.
Carly: You have to do more than agree. You need to do something about it, so Brenda doesn't make it worse.
Sonny: You really think Brenda's gonna go after Michael again?
Carly: You know she is! Who knows better than you?! Brenda's gonna start crying to Michael about how alone she feels. She's gonna ask him to hold her, and he will, and one thing's gonna lead to another, and they're gonna wind up back in bed. My God, it's the same game she plays with you.
Sonny: Yeah. She's done it to me, but Michael's a kid. I mean, what -- it doesn't --
Carly: He's our kid! He's my kid. He's your kid. And Brenda took advantage of him, and Brenda would rather you hate her than ignore her. She used Michael, and she's gonna keep using him. And if you don't do something about it, it's on you.
Brenda: How did Sonny react? What -- what did he, um, say?
Michael: [Sighs] Well, he heard me out. And I told him I was wrong, and he forgave me, but I could tell that I hurt him bad. You know, the thing is, though, I can't help but -- but feel like something's broken between us now, like things will never be the same again. [Sighs]
Brenda: Oh. I'm sorry, Michael.
Michael: It's okay. You didn't feel sorry before. I don't want you to feel sorry now. It's, like, I-I made a bad decision, and I have to live with the consequences. Just, uh...it's weird. I can't remember anything that we did.
Brenda: You can't?
Michael: No. Don't take this personal or anything. I'm sure -- I'm sure it was amazing. I just -- I don't remember any of it.
Brenda: Nothing?
Michael: No. The last thing I remember, we were in the lobby bar, and, uh... well, not that it matters anyway. The damage is done. Look, I-I... [Sighs] I know you wish I didn't say anything to my dad, and I wish there was nothing to tell, but...we can't change what already happened.
Brenda: Mm. Actually, we can change it.
Lucy: Okay, I can't stand this. I am going to go find out what is going on with your mom and that judge and see what she knows, and then, guess what. Kelly's. Banana splits. My treat. Yes?
Molly: Yeah. For sure. High five.
TJ: [Chuckles]
Molly: [Sighs] You know, you don't have to be so excited.
TJ: What do you mean?
Molly: I know you don't care about Rafe or that he almost had to go back to the group home.
TJ: Sure I do. What are you talking about?
Molly: No. You're just happy he's not gonna be living with me.
Sam: Danny's out with his godfather, a friend of ours named Spinelli. Anyway, this -- this is it. What do you think?
Rafe: Wow.
Sam: [Chuckles] Welcome home.
[Door closes]
Elizabeth: So, what'd I miss?
Nikolas: Nothing. How was your patient?
Elizabeth: Fine. Everything okay?
AJ: Yeah, couldn't be better.
Olivia: So, you're leaving Sonny, because you love him?
Connie: I'm leaving Sonny so we can move on with our lives and live in peace.
[Cell phone chimes]
Olivia: Oh. It's Dante. They're on their way to the airport. I got to go.
Connie: Get out of here.
Olivia: Okay. Um... I'm sorry I got all up in your business, okay?
Connie: Oh, now you apologize?
Olivia: Well, I-I realized that I overstepped my boundaries. I sincerely thank you for not trying to throw down or pull my hair out.
Connie: Yeah, I should have thumped you back.
Olivia: Look, in my defense, I'm only doing this, because I know how much you and Sonny love each other, and I don't want you to give up before --
Connie: I'm not giving up, Liv. I'm just trying to preserve my recovery.
Olivia: [Sighs] I get it, and I support you no matter what. I'm just really sorry that it had to end this way.
Connie: Me too.
Olivia: Connie, I love you.
Connie: I love you, too, Liv. Now get out of here. Go.
Olivia: Bye.
Connie: Give Dante a big hug for me, and say hi to Lulu.
[Elevator bell dings]
[Drawer opens]
Sonny: You know what, Carly? I don't know what I'm gonna do right now. I haven't figured it out myself.
Carly: Okay. If you see Michael, I want you to tell him that I was here and that we talked. I want us to be honest, okay?
Sonny: I know it's killing you.
Carly: It's killing me. And you don't look so good yourself.
Sonny: Well, you know -- you know what? That thing I said about, um, comparing you to Brenda -- I was wrong. I mean, you can do damage, but you wouldn't go after a kid to get back at the parents.
Carly: Ever.
Sonny: That's not how you operate. [Sighs]
Carly: I do hate the air that Brenda breathes, but you loved her. You always have. And you didn't deserve this.
Sonny: Michael didn't deserve this.
Carly: [Sighs] Wow. There's only one consolation. You know, all the chasing and twisting herself up into knots to be with you? [Chuckles] Brenda has guaranteed that you will never touch her again.
Michael: What do you mean? How -- how can we change what happened?
Brenda: I have a confession to make.
On the next "General Hospital" --
Sonny: Brenda slept with Michael.
Connie: What are you afraid of?
Maxie: You.
Sabrina: You have to help me figure out what Maxie is hiding about Dante and Lulu's baby.
Laura: I'm not sure this is a good idea.
Lulu: I don't know what you're talking about!
AJ: Why are you still looking for Brenda?
Carly: I'm gonna run her ass out of town.
