Maxie: So, can you just pop another one of Dante and Lulu's little embryos in me?
Britt: Uh, I'm sorry, Maxie. I can't.
Maxie: I-I thought you understood that I am trying to protect my best friend from suffering any more than she has to, especially when you can just make me pregnant before she gets back.
Britt: Okay, it's not that I'm unwilling to do the procedure.
Maxie: Then what is your problem?
Britt: Maxie, you're already pregnant.
Maxie: I'm sorry. What did you just say?
Britt: I can't make you pregnant. You already are.
Dante: Luke Spencer was in this room when the riot started. And then what?
Lulu: Is that his blood?
Warden: I'm very sorry. But your father was shot.
Lulu: Oh, my God. Are you gonna tell me that my father's dead?
Warden: This is most distressing.
Dante: Okay, look, we need to know what happened --
Lulu: If they killed my father, I need to see his body.
Dante: Hang on. Calm down.
Luke: I'm right here, honey. Right here.
Duke: So, Lucy's being committed?
Felicia: Remanded to Ferncliff for psychiatric evaluation. Which is better than prison, I guess.
Mac: She went nuts when she saw John McBain.
Duke: Can you define "nuts"?
Mac: Yeah, she started screaming at him and then she started attacking him.
Felicia: And we thought keeping you from the proceedings would cut back on all the vampire talk.
Duke: Well, apparently not.
Felicia: Hmm. I still feel horrible for Lucy.
Duke: Yeah. So do I.
Felicia: But I feel bad for you, too. It's obvious that something other than Lucy is on your mind. What's going on?
Duke: Anna.
Anna: Thank you for coming.
Sonny: Commissioner calls, I answer.
Anna: A law-abiding citizen.
Sonny: Exactly. So, what's this about?
Anna: The attempt against your daughter's life.
Sonny: You know who was giving Joe Scully the orders?
Anna: Same individual responsible for Jason's disappearance.
Sonny: Who?
Anna: A person that I became close to who turned out to be someone else all together.
Sonny: I know the feeling.
Connie: Sonny?
Olivia: Sonny had --
Connie: [Gasps] Geez!
Olivia: He had a meeting. He asked me to fill in.
Connie: I'm not gonna skip bail and make a run for it if that's what he's thinking.
Olivia: It's not.
Connie: Doesn't he have goons for this type of thing?
Olivia: I'm not here as a guard.
Connie: You here as a friend?
Olivia: Sonny said you've been sleeping ever since you got back from the hospital. He didn't want you to wake up and be all alone.
Connie: Oh, okay.
Olivia: Hey. Sonny wants to take care of you. And so do I.
Spinelli: So, are you ready for the perfect gift?
Ellie: Is it champagne?
Spinelli: Uh, no. It's a special collector's edition of "2001: A space odyssey." Is there a reason you wanted champagne?
Ellie: Yeah. Because of this.
Spinelli: Are you doing that?
Ellie: Can you believe that?!
Spinelli: So, you're sure that's not involuntary?
Ellie: No. My brain is telling my toes to move, and they're moving! Damian, I'm not paralyzed!
Maxie: I'm pregnant?
Britt: Yes.
Maxie: So, you were wrong. I didn't lose Dante and Lulu's baby.
Britt: Oh, no. That -- that's not what that means.
Maxie: I don't understand. If I'm still pregnant...
Britt: Not still. You're pregnant again.
Olivia: Can I get you anything?
Connie: Something to eat wouldn't kill me.
Olivia: You're in luck. I just stocked your fridge.
Connie: Oh. Great. I'll make something.
Olivia: I got it. I'll do it.
Connie: It's all right, Liv. You don't have to be here. You can go. I'm fine.
Olivia: You're not fine. Connie, I can't even imagine what that must have been like for you to watch Trey slip away right in front of your eyes.
Connie: No, you can't imagine, Liv, because you have a son. Mine, he's gone. My family, gone.
Olivia: Your family's not gone.
Connie: Oh, that's right. I forgot about my beloved murdering husband. As you can see, he's not really here for me.
Olivia: I'm not talking about Johnny. I'm talking about me.
Sonny: Well, don't keep me in suspense here. Who's the son of a bitch who shot Jason in the back?
Anna: Duke Lavery.
Sonny: Your husband, the one who resurfaced?
Anna: No, the one who was impersonating him. Cesar Faison. He was using Duke's identity to get to me, you see?
Sonny: I hear you.
Anna: So, now listen. Um, with Faison's confession, he said that he shot -- he shot Jason in the back and he kicked him into the harbor. Now, he swears that Jason never moved, which leads me to believe that he was probably dead before he hit the water.
Sonny: Where is Faison now?
Anna: He's at a maximum-security prison in Geneva. Now, I brought you in here because I don't want you to go after the real Duke.
Sonny: The real Duke?
Anna: This is where it gets complicated. Duke was being held by Faison at this clinic in Switzerland. And he was using him to extract information, you know, to get to me. But anyway, now Duke is back here in town.
Sonny: Well, that works out well for you.
Anna: You think so?
Sonny: Well, you get to welcome, you know, the right man back in your life.
Anna: Oh, it's not that simple when you already welcomed the wrong one.
Duke: In a manner of speaking, Anna kept me alive all these years. I could always see her face so clearly. I could hear her voice urging me to -- to be strong and to come back to her safely. So, I did. And here I am.
Felicia: Thank God.
Duke: But, of course, intellectually, I...I knew she couldn't wait because she thought I was dead, so she would have moved on.
Mac: But emotionally, it was a different story.
Duke: Yeah. I always dreamt that, uh, one day we would be reunited.
Felicia: And now you have been.
Duke: Thanks to the efforts of John McBain and Robert. What -- what news on his condition?
Mac: I spoke to Holly earlier. There's no change.
Duke: I'm so sorry.
Mac: Hey, what happened to Robert's not your fault. Faison is responsible for all of it.
Felicia: Mac's right. You couldn't control that monster's actions. He held you prisoner. He stole your life. He tried to take everything from you.
Duke: Yeah, I can't help wondering if he succeeded in the end.
Lulu: Thank God. I was completely freaking out. I'm sorry. Is that okay?
Luke: No, no. It feels really good. Really good.
Dante: Well, when she heard that gunshot...
Lulu: And the bloodstain. I'm just, I'm so relieved.
Dante: What the hell happened?
Luke: Just your run-of-the-mill prison riot. I took a bullet meant for, uh, one of the guards. I've been in what they laughingly call the infirmary ever since.
Lulu: And you couldn't figure out that he was alive?
Dante: Okay. Your father's safe. That's all that matters, right?
Lulu: Yes. Right.
Dante: Look, can you please get the papers we need to get Mr. Spencer released?
Lulu: Here, do you want to sit down? I mean, you've been shot.
Luke: Oh, no, no. I'm fine. I'm fine.
Lulu: No, you've been shot.
Luke: I'm fine. How about you?
Lulu: I'm good now.
Luke: Yeah? And that kid is still safely gestating in Maxie's womb?
Dante: [Chuckles]
Maxie: What do you mean, "again"? This is -- this is, like, new? You mean, I'm pregnant again since I miscarried?
Britt: Well, I'd have to run a more in-depth test to get specific information about the timeframe. But your HCG levels found in your blood are a positive indicator of pregnancy.
Maxie: How is that possible?
Britt: It must have happened the old-fashioned way.
Maxie: Oh.
Spinelli: This is a most joyous discovery! Ellie, you're gonna walk again.
Ellie: Maybe.
Spinelli: Maybe? Well, you just wiggled your adorable digits!
Ellie: Yeah, I know, but there was more to my injury than just the inability to move. But hey, will you "this little piggy" me?
Spinelli: Why, yes, of course.
Ellie: [Laughs]
Spinelli: Are you ready?
Ellie: Mm-hmm. I'm ready.
Spinelli: Okay. This little piggy went --
Ellie: I feel it!
Spinelli: You do?
Ellie: Yes!
Spinelli: Okay. I'm gonna go get a doctor.
Ellie: Okay.
Spinelli: Oh, my goodness!
Ellie: [Laughs] Not if he finds you first.
Steven: What's going on?
Ellie: This.
Steven: Wow.
Spinelli: An incredible "feet," huh? Pun intended. Ellie's gonna be fine.
Steven: Let's take a look. All right. [Sighs] Can you feel that?
Ellie: [Laughing] Yeah!
Steven: All right. How about that?
Ellie: Yeah, I feel it! I feel it! [Sighs]
Britt: Well, this shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. Have you had intercourse recently?
Spinelli: Come on. Let's evacuate the premises, okay? It is frigid up here. In more ways than one. I will take you anywhere you want. Well, more accurately, I will accompany you, because I am in no way fit to drive.
Maxie: Home. I just want to go home.
Spinelli: Home it is.
Maxie: [Sniffles]
Maxie: Oh, my God. Spinelli.
Duke: Of course, I can't expect everything to be the same. I mean, it's been two decades.
Felicia: Has it really been decades?
Mac: Yeah. Afraid so.
Duke: Yeah, I mean, the one thing I didn't expect was for Anna to recoil every time I try to touch her.
Felicia: That must be an exaggeration.
Duke: She does not exactly welcome my advances.
Mac: Why don't you give Anna some time, you know? She's had shock after shock. It's a lot to process.
Duke: Yeah. Well, the specter of Faison looms large. Every time she looks at me, she sees his face.
Felicia: She won't forever.
Duke: [Chuckles] Forever. It seems like it's been that long I've waited for Anna to love me. Now I don't know what to expect, especially now that there's another man in the way.
Dante: Uh, the baby's great, right?
Lulu: Yeah. Uh, but I-I... you know, I've been, uh, pretty worried.
Luke: Well, sure. It must be stressful having somebody else carry your child.
Lulu: Yeah. There's that. But also we've had a few incidents.
Luke: Incidents?
Lulu: I mean, nothing major. Everything is fine. It's just on New Year's Eve, Maxie chased after a dog and she tripped and fell, but the baby is fine. It's just, obviously we've been pretty worried.
Luke: Sweetheart, you left in the middle of all that to come and find me?
Lulu: Yeah, you were in trouble. Of course I came.
Luke: [Sighs] Well, it's time to get you back home.
Dante: I second that.
Luke: I'm a little anxious to get out of his hellhole myself.
Lulu: Is it awful?
Luke: Oh, it's been a picnic, but I'd kind of like to get back to my real life, back to Anna.
Anna: [Sighs] Whole thing just seems like a bad dream that I can't wake up from. Couldn't see Faison for who he was, even though Spencer could. I couldn't. I should have been able to, but I couldn't. And now Duke is paying the price.
Sonny: He's upset with you?
Anna: Well, yeah. He should be. All he's trying to do is reconnect, and I'm having a very hard time doing that.
Sonny: Well, it makes sense. I mean, you -- you've been through so much, right?
Anna: Why am I confiding in you?
Sonny: 'Cause it's much easier arresting me, right? [Chuckles]
Anna: Much.
Sonny: It's true. We're on opposite sides of everything, except when it comes to Robin.
Anna: She loved us. Both of us.
Sonny: You know, I don't know why, but she, you know, she confided in me. She used to tell me personal stuff. I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to. It's up to you.
Anna: No, I'm not going to make a habit of this, obviously.
Sonny: Right.
Anna: I don't expect you to understand.
Sonny: Well, I may surprise you, because when you look at Duke, you see Faison. When I look at Connie, I can't help but...see Kate.
Connie: So, all of a sudden, we're family now? I thought you were on team Kate.
Olivia: I really got to love Kate, you know? I did. But if I'm being totally honest, when she decided to turn into Kate Howard, turn back on Brooklyn and on me and on everything, I...I really missed Connie. And I know that you two are not the same person, but sometimes... sometimes you are more like my real cousin Connie, like that -- that -- that girl I grew up with who was my best friend than Kate could ever be.
Connie: Really?
Olivia: Yeah. Really. I look at you sometimes, and I -- and I see that same troublemaker, you know, that spitfire that used to practice dancing on the roof, practicing for our hot dates, you know? You know, we always said that we would dance at each other's weddings.
Connie: Yeah, well, sorry about that. There was no dance floor at city hall. [Chuckles]
Olivia: Well, there will be one at my --
Connie: [Gasps] Wow! [Laughing] Oh, my God! That didn't mean nothing.
Olivia: I know. I know.
Connie: I know you still think I'm crazy.
Olivia: Well, I guess it runs in the family, huh?
Connie: Still having your hallucinations?
Olivia: Uh, I think my son's surrogate is giving birth to a dog.
Connie: [Laughs] Yeah, I guess so, huh?
Olivia: Yeah. I guess that's a "yes." [Chuckles]
Maxie: I-I, uh, slept with someone in New Year's. Well, not -- not someone. Uh, Spinelli.
Britt: Is that your boyfriend?
Maxie: No, he used to be, but he has a girlfriend now.
Britt: And you slept with him anyway?
Maxie: Well, I was sad about losing the baby, and he was drunk. Those aren't the best reasons to have sex, but... I thought there was a chance for us. I was wrong.
Spinelli: So, will Ellie be able to walk out of here, literally speaking?
Steven: She's gonna have a long, uh, road of physical therapy ahead. Her injuries are gonna take some time to fully heal.
Ellie: But they will, right? Heal?
Steven: All signs point to a full recovery.
Spinelli: Yes!
Steven: Only if you're willing to do some hard work.
Ellie: Yeah. I am.
Steven: Okay. Well, then, you should be walking before you know it.
Ellie: Thank you so much.
Steven: I didn't do a thing.
Ellie: Oh, my God. I'm so happy, I could just start crying right now. [Voice breaking] Which I am.
Spinelli: Ellie, without a doubt, this is the best possible news I could have received today.
Ellie: Yeah. [Chuckles]
Maxie: So, I'm pregnant, but with Spinelli's baby? What am I gonna do?
Steven: I've always been cautiously hopeful about Ellie's condition, but her progress toward full recovery has completely exceeded my expectations. Good work.
Ellie: It's because of you.
Spinelli: No.
Ellie: Yes, it is. Hey, having you by my side, Damian, there's no way I would have gotten through this without you.
Spinelli: It's a good day.
Ellie: Hey, so good, I don't even care that your enthusiasm inadvertently crushed the "2001" DVD.
Spinelli: What? Oh, my goodness. It appears I may have stood on it.
Ellie: Yeah, it appears you have.
Spinelli: Well, you know what? I will go out and procure another copy.
Ellie: No. No, no. I...I just would rather have you here.
Spinelli: Then here I will stay.
Maxie: I can't believe this is happening. How is this happening?
Britt: Okay, take a deep breath.
Maxie: Okay. Is that gonna make me magically unpregnant with my ex-boyfriend's child?
Britt: You love him, right?
Maxie: Yes, of course I love him! But he doesn't love me. Or even if he does, he doesn't want to be with me. He wants to be with Ellie. What was that look?
Britt: No look.
Maxie: No, no. I-I saw a look. It was like a "this might not actually be so bad," which isn't possible because this is as bad as it gets.
Britt: I don't know.
Maxie: I do.
Britt: I've seen men go completely over the moon when they find out they're gonna be a father. Even when they weren't expecting it.
Maxie: So, what? You think finding out that I'm carrying his child will make Spinelli change his mind about me?
Lulu: I've been waiting on hold for five minutes.
Luke: Yeah, I didn't get a chance to talk to Anna much. I mean, I do know that I was right. Lavery wasn't who he said he was. Turns out, he was Faison.
Dante: I wish I had more details. Anna came in to town as we were leaving, and I didn't get a chance to debrief with her.
We'll be needing your signature.
Luke: Oh, well, if it's gonna get me out of here, you can have anything you want. Thank you. Oh, come to papa. [Smooches]
Lulu: [Sighs] All right. Flight's been booked, so, uh, we should get out of here as soon as we can.
Dante: Hey, maybe we'll even have time to get to Maxie's doctor's appointment, yeah?
Luke: Well, that'll be fine as long as you drop me at the PCPD on the way. I have to make sure Anna's okay.
Lulu: Just do me a favor and try and have some tact.
Luke: Tact? You mean don't point out the fact that if she had listened to me, she could have saved herself a buttload of trouble?
Lulu: Yes. Just try to be grateful that fake Duke is not an issue.
Luke: And not competition.
Felicia: Faison's in prison. He can't come after you and Anna anymore.
Duke: Well, I wasn't just referring to him. You see, I-I heard Anna on the phone with Luke Spencer, and I got the impression that there's more there than just friendship.
Mac: You'd be right.
Felicia: Well, yes. Luke and Anna were seeing each other.
Mac: And living together.
Felicia: Well, yes, they were roommates. That's true. They were friends, and it morphed into something more. But then when Luke started going after Duke -- well, I mean, the other Duke.
Duke: [Groans]
Felicia: Oh, I'm sorry. I keep doing that.
Mac: Look, can we just forget about Luke and Faison for the moment? I wasn't around when you and Anna were together, but we spoke of you sometimes, and it was clear how much she loved you. I mean, after all, you're the one she married all those years ago.
Duke: Emphasis on "years."
Mac: Felicia and I found our way back together.
Duke: And I'm very happy for you both. But it's not exactly the same, you see. When -- when Felicia, when she looks at you, she only sees the face of one man.
Anna: You want to sit? So, I-I read about the car accident and also Johnny Zacchara's confession.
Sonny: Yeah, typical Johnny. Uh, too little, too late.
Anna: And Trey Mitchell. How's Kristina doing?
Sonny: Not good.
Anna: No?
Sonny: Uh, but the one who's taking it worse is Connie, you know.
Anna: Yeah.
Sonny: She's just -- she's just not taking it very well.
Anna: Well, I suppose that's because it's hit her now that she'll never get a chance to get close to him.
Sonny: Between, you know, the guilt over losing him and then the pain over leaving him, I feel for her. I feel for her a lot.
Anna: Does she seem -- I don't know how to even say this, but, um, does she seem a little bit more like Kate?
Sonny: Nah. She's still Connie through and through. I mean, you know, she's a little more vulnerable, a little more human... more of a real person.
Anna: Person you could care about?
Connie: So, how long is he paying you to babysit?
Olivia: I'll stay here till Sonny gets back.
Connie: Sonny's coming back?
Olivia: He didn't want to leave in the first place.
Connie: You know, he surprised me. After all the abuse that I heaped on him, I think he'd be the last person that would ever want to stick with me. He sat with me through the Trey nightmare, and he took me home. He sat with me.
Olivia: Mother of God.
Connie: What?
Olivia: Do you have feelings for Sonny?
Sonny: What?
Anna: You know what. Do you have feelings for Connie?
Sonny: I have feelings for Kate.
Anna: Well, yeah. I understand that. But technically, they're the same person, aren't they? I mean, they're just part of a subconscious.
Sonny: Yeah. But I love Kate, and she's the one I proposed to. She's the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with. And I'll do anything to get her back.
Anna: Even getting close to Connie?
Sonny: Well, I thought if I flirt -- flirted with her a little bit that she would get, you know, let her guards down and -- and she would relax.
Anna: And Kate would reemerge. Oh, I don't know. That's a dangerous game.
Sonny: Well, I'm running out of options here, 'cause everything I've tried has not worked. I mean, I -- you know, I-I've been hanging out with her a little bit, and, uh, um, I-I thought I was getting somewhere, and then I even agreed to... [Laughs] I even agreed to do a photo shoot.
Anna: Well, that's interesting.
Sonny: Don't get too excited, 'cause it didn't happen.
Anna: Why?
Sonny: That was New Year's Eve.
Anna: Car accident. Yeah. So, now you're not playing with her, do you feel that you see Connie in a different light? How does she see you? Do you know?
Connie: You're tripping, cous.
Olivia: Uh, no.
Connie: Me? You think I have feelings for Sonny?
Olivia: Stranger things have happened, you know?
Connie: No, I don't hate him like I used to. That's all.
Olivia: Sonny's a pretty good-looking guy.
Connie: No. He's okay.
Olivia: Mm-hmm.
Connie: You know? He's got that thing he does where he's rough and sweet at the same time. At least that's what he wants me to think.
Olivia: What does that even mean?
Connie: It means that I'm not an idiot, Liv, and I know exactly what he's doing. He's trying to be all nice to me because he wants Kate to come out, you know?
Olivia: When I first got here, Sonny was only concerned about you. He didn't even ask about Kate.
Connie: Oh, yeah?
Olivia: Yeah.
Connie: You gonna make me some food or what?
Olivia: Yeah. What do you want?
Connie: Surprise me.
Sonny: Connie hasn't pushed me away, if that's what you're asking. But that could change, you know, once the mourning period's over.
Anna: I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not.
Sonny: It doesn't matter 'cause it's not gonna happen. I mean, me and Kate -- I mean, Connie. Sometimes I forget. Uh, it's just, it sounds crazy, but, to me, it would seem like I'm cheating on Kate.
Anna: That doesn't sound crazy. Not to me, because that's -- that's kind of how I feel about the whole "falling for Duke" thing, you know. That's what I feel.
Sonny: Well, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself 'cause you didn't know.
Anna: Yeah, but... anyway, I think we got off track here a little bit. Um, I just called you in to tell you about Faison and that, you know, this investigation against Jason's disappearance is now officially closed. Sam has been notified. She can take the steps to... have him declared dead.
Sonny: All right. Thanks for letting me know.
Anna: Yeah. Sonny... I am sorry for your loss.
Sonny: Take care.
Anna: You, too.
[Door closes]
[Cell phone ringing]
Duke: It went straight to her voicemail.
Mac: Well, that's okay, you know. But keep trying till you talk to her. You should be talking to Anna, not us.
Felicia: That's right. And you know you can come to us if you need to talk to us.
Duke: Thank you. I'm just -- I'm just afraid that I've -- I don't want to put too much pressure on her and push her further away.
Felicia: Well, you can't just sit with this.
Mac: You listen to Felicia. She's the relationship guru.
Felicia: I'd like to think that I've learned from my mistakes. Nothing bad will come if you're honest with the person that you care about.
Duke: [Sighs]
Maxie: If I tell Spinelli that I'm carrying his child, he's gonna feel responsible and want to do the right thing.
Britt: He'd marry you?
Maxie: Yes. He's old-fashioned like that.
Britt: Well, is that something you want?
Maxie: I mean, yeah. I love him. I want to be with him forever.
Britt: Okay.
Maxie: But not like this. I don't want him to feel forced into it by my fetus.
Britt: [Sighs] It's your body, Maxie. It's your decision.
Maxie: And that's great and everything. But what I really need is for somebody just to tell me what to do, like, right now. Pretend you're me. What's your next move?
Britt: I'd want the man to know if he fathered my child, no matter who he was. Do you know where Spinelli is?
Maxie: Probably here. His girlfriend was in an accident, and he's with her 24/7.
Britt: Oh, that's horrible.
Maxie: Does that change your mind? Would you still tell him?
Britt: [Scoffs] It wouldn't make it easier, but I would still tell him.
Maxie: Then I guess that's what I'm gonna do.
Steven: [Clears throat] If now's a good time, I'd like to talk to you about future treatment and conduct a complete exam before I schedule you for P.T.
Ellie: Yeah. Now's as good a time as any.
Spinelli: How about I go get that champagne you requested?
Steven: Uh, not to rain on your parade, buddy, but I don't think that's such a good idea. We're trying to keep her senses sharp, not dull them.
Spinelli: That's an excellent --
Ellie: I am more in the mood for ice cream anyway.
Spinelli: All right. Well, the jackal is on the case. Hi.
Maxie: Hey. I thought I would find you here.
Spinelli: I have the most incredible news.
Maxie: So do I.
Maxie: Um, maybe we should go sit down.
Spinelli: I'm -- I'm sorry. I don't have time. I have to -- I have to go find a celebratory confection.
Maxie: Celebratory?
Spinelli: Yeah. Ellie's gonna be up and walking in no time.
Maxie: Wow. So she's not paralyzed?
Spinelli: No. And -- and with proper therapy, I mean, she will recover full use of her legs. I mean, isn't that -- isn't that incredible?
Maxie: Yeah, that -- that is. That's great news.
Spinelli: And I'm sorry if this is strange to say, but... I-I-I feel closer... I-I feel closer than ever to Ellie.
Maxie: Yeah, you --
Spinelli: And it's not because I'm getting over you or it's not because of the guilt that I feel over her injury. It's...it's just because of her and because of who we are together. And -- and thank you so much for our conversation earlier, because it makes me feel so great to be able to share that. But I'm sorry. I babbled. What -- what is it that you have to tell me?
Mac: Are you worried about Maxie?
Felicia: Always. I haven't been able to support her through this pregnancy like I should have.
Mac: Well, you were sick, and she's barely pregnant.
Felicia: I know, but ever since I've been better, I've tried to reach out. I've asked her to go out to tea. I've asked her to go shopping for maternity clothes. She hasn't been very receptive to that.
Mac: [Scoffs] To shopping?
Felicia: I know.
Mac: Look, Maxie's got a lot going on, to put it mildly. She's probably just overwhelmed.
Felicia: It just seems like ever since the new year, she's been blowing me off. What if there's something she's not telling me?
Mac: [Sighs]
Britt: Maxie.
Maxie: Oh, hey. Sorry. I didn't see you. I have to go.
Britt: Hey. Did you see Spinelli?
Maxie: Yes, I saw Spinelli, and I told him I had some incredible news.
Britt: Okay. And then what?
Maxie: And then I made up a cringe-worthy lie and bailed.
Britt: Okay. Let's take Spinelli out of the equation for one second.
Maxie: Gladly.
Britt: You're pregnant.
Maxie: I'm aware of that.
Britt: With your own baby. Which means carrying a baby for Dante and Lulu is no longer an option.
Steven: I will call the physical therapist now. The sooner you're up and around, the better.
Ellie: Great.
Steven: I hope you know how lucky you are.
Ellie: I do. Oh. You couldn't find any ice cream. [Chuckles]
Spinelli: My apologies. I embarked on my quest and ran into a distraction.
Ellie: Oh. What kind of distraction?
Spinelli: Maxie. It appeared she had something important to tell me, but oddly, it turned out to be nothing.
Ellie: Well, I'm sure she just forgot.
Spinelli: I shouldn't have brought her up.
Ellie: No. No. You've assured me repeatedly that there's nothing going on between you and Maxie except friendship. And since there are no longer any secrets between you and me...
Spinelli: That's...not entirely accurate.
Ellie: What do you mean?
Spinelli: Ellie, there's something you need to know.
Connie: I'm really not in the mood for this, Liv.
Olivia: Look at it as a public service.
Connie: Right. 'Cause I miss generosity.
Olivia: I need to brush up. 10 bucks says it'll take your mind off things.
Connie: Fine.
Olivia: Okay.
Connie: Okay.
Olivia: One, two...
Both: Cha-cha-cha. Three, four...
Connie: Get your elbow up.
Olivia: What?
Connie: There you go.
Olivia: Five, six...
Connie: What the hell are you doing?
Olivia: I don't know! I told you I don't know how to do this. I'm sorry. I stink.
Connie: You don't stink. We've done this before.
Sonny: Excuse me. Excuse me.
Connie: [Laughs]
Sonny: Did I miss something?
Both: No.
Olivia: No.
Sonny: Oh. I thought --
Olivia: Nothing. I just, uh... I'm glad you came back. I got to meet Steve at the hospital. Thanks for the dance, you.
Connie: See you.
Olivia: See you.
Sonny: Everything okay?
Olivia: Yeah. It was good. For both of us.
Sonny: Everything, uh... you feeling all right?
Connie: Yeah.
Sonny: Need anything?
Connie: Why you being so nice to me?
Anna: [Sighs]
[Door opens]
Luke: Slim.
Anna: Oh, God. Luke.
Luke: Long time no see. [Sighs]
Sonny: You've been having a rough time, you know? I sympathize. That's all.
Connie: Really? You got no angle? Nothing?
Sonny: From one parent to another. I thought there was gonna be bloodshed. I was a little worried leaving you with Olivia.
Connie: [Chuckles] We had a decent time, I guess. Talked about a few things.
Sonny: Yeah? What'd you talk about?
Connie: You.
Olivia: [Sighs] Hello.
Steven: Hey. Ooh. You're in a good mood.
Olivia: I was just hanging out with Connie. We had actually kind of a nice conversation.
Steven: Good. That's great.
Olivia: What's your excuse? You got a little extra spring in your step.
Steven: I delivered some, uh, pretty hopeful news to a patient, so it's been a good day.
Olivia: Oh, and it just got better. Hey, you guys. How'd it go? Did you find Luke?
Dante: Yeah, we did.
Lulu: My dad's, uh, back home where he belongs. [Sighs] [Chuckles]
Anna: Ooh.
Luke: Ooh, ooh. Watch, watch. Watch the arm.
Anna: Are you still hurt?
Luke: Oh, no. I am so much better now.
Anna: Oh, Luke. I was so worried about you. You have no idea.
Luke: Yeah, well, I-I think I do have some kind of an idea. Well, you got to fill me in, though. You say Robert was hurt?
Anna: It's bad. I-I didn't want to tell you over the phone, but... Robert's in a coma.
Luke: A coma?
Anna: Yeah. Holly's with him.
Luke: How did it happen?
Anna: It was, uh, that woman at the clinic. She injured him. Do you remember Dr. Obrecht?
Luke: Oh, God, yes. That's a character you don't easily forget. What were you doing back there?
Duke: Rescuing me.
Mac: Don't take it personal. I haven't seen much of Maxie since the new year, either.
Felicia: You think I should back off?
Mac: Might not be a bad idea.
Felicia: Yeah. She has been going through all those hormonal changes and...
Mac: And the fear that she's gonna give birth to a dog.
Felicia: [Gasps] [Laughs] You're terrible.
Mac: And you're gorgeous. Hmm.
Maxie: I am such a horrible person.
Britt: No, you're not.
Maxie: Yes, I am. I haven't for one second thought about what this is gonna do to Dante and Lulu.
Britt: It's a lot, Maxie. I mean, you're taking it one issue at a time. There are several to consider.
Maxie: Yeah, and several people.
Ellie: Does this something have to do with Maxie?
Spinelli: Look, Ellie... I-I wouldn't feel right moving forward with you, and believe me, that is precisely why --
Ellie: Okay, you're scaring me. Will you just -- will you just tell me what it is?
Spinelli: It happened on New Year's Eve.
Ellie: Okay. Well, you already told me that you spent the night with Maxie.
Spinelli: Yes. But what I didn't tell you is... I slept with her.
Ellie: [Exhales]
Britt: Take some time to process your situation. But not too much. Decisions need to be made.
Maxie: Okay, but in -- in the meantime, this is just between you and me, right?
Britt: Absolutely.
Maxie: I can't -- I mean, I.. I don't even know where I would start.
Britt: My suggestion is to figure out what you're gonna tell Dante and Lulu.
Lulu: Hi.
Dante: Hey.
Lulu: Tell Dante and Lulu what?
