Sam: I just want you to know that I'm ok with the way things are, and I don't need a piece of paper to prove to me that you love me.

Jason: Ok. If that's how you feel.

Sam: Wait. Isn't that how you feel?

Anthony: Conditions? You want there to be conditions about taking Sonny down?

Johnny: You're reckless.

Anthony: Unconventional.

Johnny: Careless.

Anthony: Unpredictable.

Johnny: All right, I agree with you. We come at Sonny hard. We break him down.

Anthony: So that he slips up, hopefully in his own blood.

Johnny: I don't go after women and kids.

Anthony: It's all or nothing, John. That's how I built what I built. And I'm not gonna see it fall because you're too polite to hit Sonny where he's most vulnerable.

Brenda: Do you like fireworks?

Alec: They're cool.

Brenda: They're cool? Guess what we're gonna do. Not only are we going to the park like I said, but they are going to let off fireworks in the middle of the park. We have our snacks and our blanket. I love this blanket. Right? And guess what. Max and Milo are coming. Oh, good, you like them, huh?

Alec: Mm-hmm.

Brenda: I'm so glad you like them.

Alexis: Hi. Looks like somebody's gonna have some fun.

Brenda: Really? Again with the no knocking?

Alexis: I'm sorry. Milo let me in. It's about the custody.

Brenda: Oh, yeah. Ok. Let's go see Max and Milo right now. Ok, you want to get the grapes. You can get the grapes, right? I'll be in there in a minute.

Alec: Ok.

Alexis: I wanted to give you a heads-up that Jax has asked that you be put on the witness list.

Brenda: I know, we got the subpoena, Sonny and I.

Alexis: Yeah, I'm sorry. I tried to get here before that arrived. In any case, I want you to be prepared to be able to tell the court whether or not you think Sonny is a dangerous liability to children.

Carly: You can threaten to drag my kids into court and you can twist the truth, but you will not get my daughter.

Grace: At this point, neither one of you should be trying to get Josslyn. This is about the child's best interest.

Carly: I understand that. And I'm sorry for losing my temper. But I'm protective of all my children. And for you to imply that Michael is a danger to his sister is not only hurtful, but absurd.

Grace: I can only go off of what has been recorded.

Carly: You know what--and how dare you not tell Ms. Yang that Michael is the loving teenage boy that you know him to be.

Sonny: You miserable dirtbag.

Carly: Sonny--Sonny.

Sonny: Don't even try to protect--I'm gonna kick your self-righteous ass and leave you begging for mercy, you lousy son of a bitch!

Jax: This is Sonny Corinthos, Carly's ex-husband.

Sonny: You've been trying to bust up my marriage to Brenda ever since we said our vows. Don't think you haven't, Jax.

Jax: You mean the day Brenda got into the limo that was wired to explode?

Sonny: Ok, this custody garbage is all to cause trouble 'cause you're trying to turn Brenda against me.

Jax: All I ask of any of my witnesses is that they be truthful, and that's it.

Sonny: You're causing everybody a lot of pain. And you know what? You're gonna end up feeling it.

Carly: No, no, Sonny.

Sonny: What?

Carly: Stop.

Jax: I'm sorry that you're having to witness all of this.

Sonny: Who the hell are you?

Grace: I'm Grace Yang, the court-appointed mediator.

Brenda: Jax needs to take me off of that list, ok, because this is between Jax and Carly. So, I mean, that girl is hostile enough towards me as it is.

Alexis: She's hostile to everyone. Particularly if you're a woman.

Brenda: Ok, so I don't understand how you can be involved in this at all.

Alexis: He's my friend, you know. I'm just doing what I can to try to guide him to an equitable arrangement with Carly.

Brenda: I know, but listen to me. You, along with every other woman in this town, have a child with Sonny. So how can you even speak--listen, here's the thing. I'm sure you're not surprised to know that I am not going to tell some judge that my husband is dangerous. Ok, how can I do that when I have a child here in this house with him? And this, I think for Jax, is all about getting back at Sonny.

Anthony: See, Sonny's not too smart about certain things, like racking up liabilities. And by that, I mean brats and wives.

Johnny: Like I said, leave--

Anthony: Let me finish. The Corinthos organization is strong. It covers a lot of territory. Has for years. Sonny's secure with Jason Morgan as his enforcer and a cop son who is perfectly positioned to work the system when it serves him.

Johnny: The organization does have its holes.

Anthony: Not enough to take him down.

Johnny: You're too impatient. We're already making progress.

Anthony: Maybe you should go back and play with your nuts and bolts in some garage, stick your head in a jalopy to play nice.

Johnny: I have a code. There are certain people I don't go after.

Anthony: Codes are for suckers. Are you telling me Sonny doesn't target women? Look at what he did to your sister. How he used and degraded Claudia, pushed her over the edge. Not that she had that far to go.

Johnny: And what, you treated her any better? Huh? She never would have gotten near Sonny if you hadn't pushed her in his general direction.

Anthony: Did you love Claudia? I mean, you say you did.

Johnny: Yeah. I tried to save her, from herself.

Anthony: But you couldn't save her from Sonny. Doesn't that stick in your craw?

Johnny: Every day.

Anthony: Yeah? But what kind of damage have you done in her name to get back at the bastards who put her in the ground?

Johnny: It's not gonna bring her back.

Anthony: No, but it'll make him remember. It'll make him stand up and take notice of the Zacchara name.

Johnny: You were the first one to use Claudia and you're still using her. You don't let her rest in peace, I'll bury your ass right next to her.

Anthony: It's me. It goes down exactly like we discussed.

Jason: I love you.

Sam: And I love you.

Jason: And there's nobody else.

Sam: Good to know. Same here.

Jason: And I can't imagine there ever would be.

Sam: Ok. Well, then let's just leave it at that. I don't want to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.

Jason: You wouldn't.

Sam: Or make you feel that you have to change for me.

Jason: No. I thought we agreed that we were gonna accept each other the way we are.

Sam: Absolutely. Absolutely. People don't need words to express how they feel or some big grand gesture.

Jason: I just want you to be happy.

Sam: I am happy. Why would you think I'm not?

Jason: Well, I'm just saying if you feel like something is missing.

Sam: I don't. But if you do...

Jason: How do you feel about marriage? I'm sorry. Just, you know what, forget I said anything. I already know how you kind of feel about--

Sam: No, no, no. Listen. It won't--it's not gonna hurt to answer a simple question. How do I feel about marriage? I'm afraid. Jason, I'm ashamed of my past. There were so many marriages that meant nothing. And let's call it what it was. They were all cons.

Jason: But, Sam--

Sam: And I look back on that time and I remember the person that I was and all the lies that I told. Jason, there was no big white wedding. There was no wedding dress. There was no cakes. There was no honeymoons. So let's just...I don't want to have to dwell on that. Ok?

Jason: So you got a bad association.

Sam: Yeah, I did. What about you? Huh? Marriage is a good or a bad thing?

Jason: It was mostly bad.

Sam: Ok. So why would we want to take what we have and the life that we built together and risk that?

Ethan: What the hell are you doing?

Kristina: I knew you'd show up.

Ethan: Well, I can't let you wander around if Anthony's out to get you.

Kristina: So you admit that you care about me.

Ethan: Obviously.

Kristina: Well, that's good. We're making progress.

Ethan: As a friend, Kristina. I care about you as a friend.

Kristina: Why can't you just admit that there's--

Ethan: You have a crush on me, ok? It's very flattering, but it's not worth either of us dying over.

Kristina: No one's going to die.

Ethan: That's what you thought last summer, isn't it, when you pretended to date Johnny to piss off your father. Do you remember what it felt like waking up after a car bomb nearly killed both of you?

Kristina: Nothing like that is going to happen.

Ethan: Why? Because Anthony's just some harmless old fool? Because he talks a little crazy, but he's not an actual threat?

Kristina: You ran him off.

Ethan: Yeah, and that made you feel really important, didn't it? So you thought, hell, why not, let's do it again. Is that what you're hoping for, that Anthony would come show up?

Kristina: Why are you being so harsh?

Ethan: Because you are acting like a naive, selfish teenager too caught up in your own drama to realize that actual lives are at stake.

Brenda: Jax needs to take me off of the witness list, period.

Alexis: Well, if it makes you feel any better, I don't think that his motives are sinister.

Brenda: Oh, you don't? Ok, look, I completely understand that Jax thinks that Alec and I are in danger and that possibly Josslyn is in danger as well. But I think that this could be about something else maybe.

Alexis: Brenda, I'm not gonna deny that Jax hates Sonny and would probably be very happy if you left him.

Brenda: Thank you.

Alexis: However--and he didn't say that to me exactly.

Brenda: Oh, ok, well, that means a lot, doesn't it? Look, you have a child just like every other woman in this town with my husband. And if you still can be involved in this, then why don't you go up on the stand and let them question you about how dangerous your child's life is?

Alexis: Typically it's frowned upon for an attorney to call herself as a witness.

Brenda: That's convenient.

Alexis: I'm just trying to do the right thing for everybody. And at this point, I don't even know what the hell that is anymore.

Sonny: Ms., Uh--

Grace: Yang.

Sonny: Yeah. Ms. Yang, we're in a private conversation.

Jax: Oh, I think Ms. Yang should stay. I don't have a problem with it.

Carly: I do. Clearly you can see there's bad blood between Jax and Sonny because of his wife Brenda. It's been there for years, long before Josslyn was born.

Grace: I think I've heard enough. It's been very entertaining and enlightening.

Jax: That went well.

Carly: Your timing could have been a little better.

Sonny: Why? Now you don't have to impress the mediator because you know she's in his back pocket.

Jax: Are you implying that I paid her off?

Sonny: Yeah, I'm implying it.

Jax: I don't need to pay anyone off, Sonny. 'Cause that little tantrum you just threw, that's gonna get my custody of my daughter.

Carly: I hate you.

Jason: I do, I understand why you don't want to get married, or why you even would really even want to marry me, because I have a bad history and with what I do for a living. I get it.

Sam: I have no problem with who you are or what you do. You know that.

Jason: Ok. I just don't want to push you into something that you don't want. But sometimes you hold back when you don't need to.

Sam: Jason, what are you getting at? I am not holding back. I don't want to pressure you or make you feel obligated or guilty.

Jason: I don't feel guilty or obligated. I don't want your past or what I did in my past to keep us from something we might want. If we want it.

Ethan: Do you understand the concept of a hypothetical? Your mom uses them in court.

Kristina: I may not have gotten into Yale, but yes, I can grasp the concept of a hypothetical.

Ethan: Ok. Let's say hypothetically that Anthony got here before I did. There are no witnesses around, so he decides to even the score. A daughter for a daughter. Your family killed Claudia, so he will kill you. He has you grabbed. And now you're helpless. You're all 5 feet of you struggling against 2 huge guys who throw you in a trunk. And now you start to get really terrified because you realize that it's over. And maybe you have time to think about all the wonderful things you will never experience. Or maybe you're too terrified to think of anything at all. But when that trunk opens, you die. Just hope they were quick and painless.

Kristina: Ok, I get it. It was stupid.

Ethan: So now you're dead. Ok? If there is an afterlife, then you're in it, smiling down. Great. If not, then it's over. Nothing. Emptiness for you. But now think about Molly. Think about your brothers grieving for you. Think about Alexis blaming herself for not keeping you locked up at night. Think about Sonny. He will find out who killed you. Hell, Anthony will probably send him a picture of your cold desecrated corpse. All because you wanted a little attention from me.

Kristina: I don't want anyone to die, I just want us to be honest about how we feel.

Ethan: I feel that you are too young for me. And you prove that every time you pull a stunt like this. Every time you ignore the realities of your life.

Kristina: Well, why don't you tell me the realities of my life since I'm so young and clueless?

Ethan: Sonny is a ruthless, powerful, unstable, violent man. And his enemies are equally violent and unstable. And they will target him through you. So you don't live in the same world as your friends. In your world, you can very easily die.

Kristina: I refuse to live my life in fear.

Ethan: You know, maybe a little fear would be healthy for you. It would be a hell of a lot healthier for me. Or do you truly not comprehend the impossible situation that you have put me in?

Alexis: Carly, what are you doing here?

Carly: I need to talk to you.

Alexis: I can't discuss the case with you.

Carly: Then I'll keep it simple. Ok, look, I'm here to appeal to you as a mother, and I'm here to beg you to stop Jax from taking my daughter.

Alexis: Again, I'm not supposed to discuss this, but I will tell you that I don't think that's going to happen.

Carly: You don't know that. You don't know that. And you told me that if Jax and I couldn't come up with some kind of a compromise that the courts would do it for us. Now, you know that I've tried over and over again. And Jax keeps shutting me down.

Alexis: And you know I have tried to handle this as fairly as I can.

Carly: Can you? I mean, can you when it comes to me? Can you handle this fairly?

Alexis: It's not about you. It's about Josslyn.

Carly: No. No, it's not. Not as far as Jax is concerned. Hell, he's calling Sonny, Brenda, Shawn. He wants to put Morgan on the stand.

Alexis: There's time for that to get him off the list.

Carly: Ok, are you the one who told the mediator that Michael is an unstable felon with anger issues?

Alexis: No. I had to hand the criminal record over to the mediator, but I also said that he had fulfilled his parole successfully.

Carly: Ok, well, the mediator doesn't give a damn. Because she implied that Michael should not be alone with his sister. Now, how long till that rule applies to me? Alexis, if Jax wants to stop me from being alone with my daughter, are you gonna stop him?

Jax: You know, you just did more damage to Carly's case in front of the mediator than I could ever do in court. It really showed your true colors.

Sonny: I'd be a little more scared if I were you.

Jax: I'm not scared of you, Sonny.

Sonny: Here we go. 50-50, last chance. Share custody with Carly.

Jax: Or what?

Sonny: Are you willing to find out?

Jax: Thanks to you, by the time all this is finished, I'm gonna have sole custody of my daughter.

Sonny: By the time this is finished, you're gonna be done.

Jax: Is that a threat?

Sonny: No, it's a promise. You're gonna lose everything. And when you do, you're gonna remember this conversation. You know why? You're gonna remember that you could have avoided what's gonna land on your head.

Brenda: Ok, guess what, I have a surprise for you.

Alec: What?

Brenda: I made you something. This one's mine, this one's yours. And I put a bunch of cool music on it for you. Here. Ear.

Alec: It's easier to do with one ear. You can still hear it.

Brenda: Yeah, yeah, that's a good idea. I'll do mine in one ear, too. You ready? We're ready, Vince. Thank you. Ok, hop in. Ow! Thanks, Vince. [Squealing] We're gonna have so much fun.

[Gunshots]

Brenda: Aah!

Maxie: No, going to the hospital to get your stitches checked is not a trip for biscuits, whatever that means. Spinelli, will you please just promise me you're gonna stay away from Anthony Zacchara? Stop calling me sugarlips. Oh!

Sam: Was that Spinelli?

Maxie: No, it was Jackal, P.I. What if I never see Spinelli again? I did this to him.

Sam: Not as bad as what you did to me.

Maxie: What did I do to you?

Sam: Tell me in excruciating detail how you made Jason think that I wanted to marry him.

Maxie: Oh, that.

Sam: Oh, that. Do you have any idea how uncomfortable it made both of us?

Maxie: Probably because it needed to be discussed.

Sam: What are you talking about? Who are you to be pushing the idea of marriage anyway? You are basically allergic to it.

Maxie: Well, I never said marriage was right for everybody.

Sam: Yeah, no kidding. And marriage is not right for me or Jason, either. And you shouldn't have brought it up.

Maxie: Why?

Sam: Why? Because Jason may be somebody who you think doesn't have feelings, but he is this very kind and generous person. And now you put the idea of marriage in his head and he won't shut up about it.

Maxie: So you guys are actually gonna get married? Finally.

Ethan: Let's look at the three ways that this romance you are trying to concoct in your head does not work.

Kristina: Look, let's just forget that I ever texted you--

Ethan: Ok, you know what? You started this, we are finishing it. Point number one--Sonny's opposition.

Kristina: Let me stop you right there. I love my father, but he does not control my life. I get that there's danger. I've known that my whole life. But I don't care. I'm going to live the way I want. I'm going to have the friends that I like. I'm not going to be my father's prisoner. And I'm not going to waste my time trying to make him happy, because it just can't be done.

Ethan: Have you ever tried it, even once?

Kristina: He has this image in his head of the dutiful daughter. Perfect grades, does whatever she's told, even dresses the way that she's told. And maybe at some point I'd be allowed to go to college and get a job, but it'd have to be a job that my dad approved of. And if I ever got married, it would be to some guy that my dad picked out. Someone who's squeaky clean and respectable. How's that for irony?

Ethan: So, what, I'm supposed to be the antithesis to all that? Is that it?

Kristina: You're you. Someone who I respect, someone who understands me. Someone who I thought liked me.

Ethan: I do like you, Kristina, just not the way you want me to.

Kristina: Because my dad doesn't approve.

Ethan: No, because your dad would kill me. And he'd be discreet about it, ok? He wouldn't want trouble with all the remaining Spencers. He wouldn't want trouble with you. So I would just disappear one day. And really, who would question it? I wandered into town, I've been an outcast since I got here, I could just wander back out.

Kristina: If you felt that way, then why did you defend me on the plane back from the Dominican?

Ethan: Because I was upset, and I was really hung over.

Kristina: I don't think you're afraid of my father. I think he's a convenient excuse.

Ethan: Oh, and then there's Anthony. Ok? I just pissed off a very powerful man in your defense. Now, I don't regret it, ok? I would do it again. But Anthony is perverse. He might have forgotten all about the disagreement, or he could be putting a hit out on me right now.

Kristina: Well, I'll talk to Johnny.

Ethan: I already have talked to Johnny. I told him to put a leash on his father. He said he'd try, but he made it very clear that he doesn't control Anthony. And the truth be told, I think Johnny's getting played.

Kristina: Played how?

Ethan: Anthony is keeping Johnny distracted while he works a bigger agenda. Now, I can't speak to the details, but I do know the endgame. Anthony wants to dismantle your father piece by piece, grind him down to nothing. And hurting you or killing you are two great ways to accomplish that.

Kristina: Maybe I should just leave, or go to college in California.

Ethan: Might not be a bad idea.

Kristina: Would you miss me?

Ethan: That brings me to point number three.

[Kristina sighs]

Ethan: Even if Anthony were safely locked up in Pentonville and your father was a mild-mannered accountant, I still wouldn't date you, Kristina. You are too young.

Kristina: I'm going to be 19.

Ethan: You are too young for me emotionally. Ok? Yes, you have lived through some very tragic things, but you've also been very sheltered. Now, I have been essentially alone, kicking around by myself since I was 15. I am hardened in ways you cannot comprehend. I have seen and done things you cannot imagine, to survive. I am not the man for you. And besides, I'm interested in someone else.

Kristina: Abby? You expect me to believe that after everything that we just said? I know that you care about me, Ethan, no matter how much you say that you don't. And for the record, I don't buy any of your three points. I know that you're pushing me away because you're trying to protect me, because you've decided that you're bad for me. But I don't--I don't believe it's true.

Ethan: I need a woman, Kristina, not a petulant little girl.

Kristina: You pride yourself on being a big liar, but you suck at lying to me.

Alexis: As long as I'm going to get disbarred, why don't you have a seat?

Carly: I'm just so afraid that I'm gonna lose my little girl.

Alexis: Carly, I don't think that's going to happen.

Carly: Well, then you should tell that to Jax, because that's exactly what he wants.

Alexis: You know, it was never my personal belief that he should get sole custody, and I have been trying with everything that I have to get him to see something or do something more equitable.

Carly: Equitable. Why the hell is he putting Michael on the stand? Why does he want to paint him as this volatile ex-con who's a risk to his little sister? Why?

Alexis: There's still time for Michael to be taken off the list.

Carly: But he hasn't, has he?

Alexis: Have you ever considered he's used this as a scare tactic to get you to cooperate?

Carly: Did he say that to you?

Alexis: No.

Carly: This isn't about Josslyn. You know that, don't you? This is about Jax beating Sonny at all costs. That's what this is about.

Alexis: What do you want me to do?

Carly: I know we're different. I know we don't get along. But I do respect you as a mother. As long as you represent Jax, you're helping him take my daughter, and I'm just asking you to stop. I mean, you don't have to side with me, but just don't side against me.

Alexis: You know that if I remove myself from this case, he'll get another lawyer and it can be even more disruptive for you.

Carly: You have a conscience. Will you please listen to it?

Anthony: Surprise! Hoo hoo!

Johnny: What, are you nuts?

Anthony: You want an answer or an argument?

Johnny: What are you doing?

Anthony: We are celebrating.

Johnny: You're in way too happy a mood. Not good.

Anthony: Oh, it's good for us.

Johnny: Fill me in. I'll either join you in a toast or go out and do damage control.

Anthony: You used to take chances, John.

Johnny: I still do when it works out to my advantage.

Anthony: You get nothing sitting and waiting. You gotta get out there, you gotta instigate, aggravate, grab hold with your teeth and not let go.

Johnny: I take it you've bitten someone.

Anthony: We got the same goal, John--wipe out Corinthos. But first, I want to bring him to his knees, make him crawl a little. Maybe even cry. Any man can be made to cry.

Johnny: A sign of weakness, huh?

Anthony: Sign of defeat. A man like Sonny Corinthos needs a big dose of humbling first.

Johnny: What did you do?

Anthony: Sonny needed to have his vulnerabilities pointed out. I gave him a good hard yank so he'd sit up and take notice.

Sonny: Whew. Here.

Brenda: No, thank you.

Sonny: Just take it.

Brenda: No, I don't want it.

Sonny: Ok, you need it, you know, the way you--

Brenda: Sweetheart, I just said I don't need it. But thank you. Actually, I just need to go check on Alec.

Sonny: You don't want to do that, not the way you are right now.

Brenda: What do you mean, not the way I am right now? My son just almost got shot.

Sonny: You're ok, your son's ok.

Brenda: Ok. Ok. I'm ok.

Jason: How's, uh, how's Alec?

Sonny: He doesn't even know what's going on. So let's...come on. Come on. Just be a few minutes. [Sighs] You find anything?

Jason: I checked the car and the area around it. The shooter deliberately fired below the windows.

Sonny: Was the shooter close?

Jason: Brenda and Alec must have walked right in front of him?

Sonny: So he could have taken a shot and he didn't. He waited for them to go inside, then he took his shot.

Jason: It was meant to scare Brenda. So you know what we're talking about, right? Somebody's sending a message, and we know who that is, so, we're gonna have to send a message back.

Maxie: I can help get you the best wedding dress.

Sam: Will you stop? I'm am not gonna need a wedding dress because I am not getting married.

Maxie: Please don't tell me you said no.

Sam: I didn't have to say no. Jason left before I actually said anything. He had to go work—

Maxie: Leave it to Jason to propose and run.

Sam: Well, it wasn't a proposal exactly.

Maxie: What was it exactly?

Sam: Well, we just...talked about how we feel and what we want.

Maxie: Ok, so Jason's like gonna build up to asking you to marry him.

Sam: Maxie, I was really glad that he actually left because it gave me time to actually clear my head.

Maxie: No, no, love is not about clear heads.

Sam: No, but marriage is, and Jason might think that he wants to get married right now, but he's not the marrying kind.

Maxie: Are you denying you love him?

Sam: No, of course I love him.

Maxie: And you think you could wake up next to him every morning for the rest of your life?

Sam: Are you kidding me? I love waking up next to him. Yes, I love it. I love seeing him laying there in the morning with the sheets half off and half on. You can tell he was--

Maxie: Ok, where does the baby fit into all this?

Sam: What baby?

Maxie: Well, are you gonna try to get pregnant before you tell Jason you're gonna marry him?

Sam: You are completely out of your mind. That's absurd.

Maxie: So you and Jason are committed to each other on all levels, baby or no baby?

Sam: Maxie, will you stop it?

Maxie: Will you guys just put us all out of our misery and get married already?

[Sam sighs]

[Knock on door]

Carly: Jason? I have a feeling that Jax is gonna come out a winner in this custody hearing.

Jason: And what's this feeling based on?

Carly: Sonny. He freaked out and he threatened Jax right in front of the mediator.

Jason: How bad?

Carly: It was bad. Jax jumped all over. He made me mad, which made Sonny mad, which is gonna make it really difficult to convince a judge that Sonny's not dangerous.

Jason: Sonny is dangerous. He's out of control right now.

[Carly sighs]

Jax: Oh, good, I was just about to call you.

Alexis: About the hearing?

Jax: Yes. I think that hearing is going to be more of a formality now than anything else.

Alexis: Something I missed?

Jax: Yeah. Carly lost it in front of the mediator, and then Sonny walked in and threatened to kick my ass. So, it was perfect.

Alexis: Great. Looks like you're right. You'll be victorious. In which case, then, you don't have to put Morgan up on the stand and make him choose between you and Carly. And you don't have to imply that Michael is a social outcast that shouldn't be left alone with his sister.

Jax: This was never meant to hurt the boys. You know that.

Alexis: But it does hurt them, and it will continue to hurt them if you don't take them off the list.

Jax: I was hoping that Carly would see reason and that she would back down, so don't put this on me.

Alexis: I know this is hard for you, but it's turning out to be too hard on me. I can't do it.

Jax: What are you talking about? You can't do what?

Alexis: I can no longer advocate for you to get sole custody of Josslyn because I don't think it's right. And I don't think it's fair to Josslyn or her mother.

Johnny: What the hell is wrong with you, huh?

Anthony: I like to win.

Johnny: I said don't involve women and children.

Anthony: No. You said don't kill women and children. I showed restraint. Brenda and her brat are still alive.

Johnny: It was a bad move.

Anthony: It was a strategic move. All I did was stir the pot. Ha. There's something so delicious about the smell of havoc in the air.

Johnny: Sonny's probably downstairs right now with a small army.

Anthony: Not likely. That's the beauty of the timing. Sonny can't do spit.

Johnny: Why?

Johnny: And what about after this custody hearing? What's stopping Sonny then?

Brenda: Yeah, it's sweet the way he responds to you.

Jax: You know the situation. You know what I'm dealing with here.

Alexis: Because I had a child with Sonny?

Jax: No, because you're a good mother.

Alexis: And you're pitting me against another one.

Jax: You really believe that?

Alexis: I believe Carly is questionable as a woman. As a mother, I think she's devoted and I think she fights for her children.

Jax: And so do I.

Alexis: By using her other children as weapons.

Jax: Josslyn's life is on the line here. I will do whatever it takes.

Alexis: That's just a convenient excuse to have the end justify the means.

Jax: Listen, Josslyn's odds aren't very good as long as Sonny and Jason are around. Ok? Just stick with me a little longer on this one, ok? A day. One day.

Alexis: And then what?

Jax: Once I have sole custody, I will patch things with Carly. I promise you, ok? I will do that.

Alexis: Jax, you can't fix things at the back end.

Jax: I can if you help me.

Alexis: I can't do it anymore. I can't.

Jax: There's nothing I can do to change your mind, is there?

Alexis: I'm sorry.

Jax: Then I accept your resignation. I'll still love you.

Alexis: And I you. I want this to work out for you. I do. I want it to work out for Carly, too. But most of all, I want it to work out for Josslyn.

Jason: It was meant to scare Brenda, nothing more.

Carly: Brenda didn't know that. Are you sure they're ok?

Jason: Yeah, Brenda threw herself over Alec and no bullets made it inside the car.

Carly: That could have been Josslyn and me. Easily. Is Jax right? Is Josslyn in danger because of me?

Jason: Carly, the fact is, there is danger. But the pain it would cost Josslyn to lose her mother, that can't be measured.

Carly: I know what you're about to do. Don't. Don't do anything till after the custody hearing.

Sonny: The shooter could have taken you out anytime, but he didn't.

Brenda: I'm sorry, what does--what does that mean? Is that supposed to comfort me?

Sonny: He wasn't there to shoot you.

Brenda: Well, then, what did he do with all those bullets if he wasn't there to shoot me?

Sonny: It's a small caliber--

Brenda: I don't care what size bullets they were. They were bullets, honey, right?

Sonny: He shot in a line underneath the window.

Brenda: Ok, well, Alec could have jumped out of the car or--or tried to run and then they may have hit him. Right?

Sonny: The shooter probably would have taken off.

Brenda: Oh, probably. That's great news.

Sonny: This was a--this was a message meant for me, that's--

Brenda: I actually think you're right. I think this was a message from your enemies, right? And the message is, guess what, Sonny Corinthos--we can get to your wife and your kids anytime we want!

Sonny: It's not gonna--it's not gonna happen. There's not gonna be a next time.

Brenda: Should I bet my child's life on that?

Sonny: They were trying to make me angry because, you know, that way I would retaliate and make a mistake.

Brenda: You know, Jax has been telling me this whole time that Alec and I were in danger.

Sonny: Forget Jax for a moment.

Brenda: How am I supposed to forget Jax, Sonny, when I have to go tomorrow and testify in this hearing?

Sonny: You don't say anything that happened tonight, ok? We don't go to the cops. Jason, we don't go there. You let me handle it.

Brenda: How are you gonna handle it?

Sonny: I'm gonna--look, I just don't want you to say anything about tonight at the hearing. And the rest, trust me, I'll take care of it. Can you do that?

Brenda: I'm gonna check on Alec.
