Nikolas: Did he say there was a malignancy?
Rebecca: No, all he said was there was a troubling area on the film and that he wants to do a biopsy.
[Spinelli groans]
Jason: What's wrong with you?
Spinelli: Stone Cold, you have to go. Go, go, go, go, right now.
Jason: What are you doing?
Spinelli: I have to feign illness in order to convince Maximista to stay and care for me. I was trying to mimic intestinal disorder.
Jason: That's a little extreme, don't you think?
Spinelli: The situation is most dire. She's about to embark on another ill-conceived date with the mob prince and only -- only the ruse of ill health could dissuade her, so --
Maxie: Spinelli, how could you?
Jax: Hey, I didn't hear you.
Carly: I thought you might be here. And I'm pretty sure I know why. You're eating yourself up with guilt.
[Knock on door]
Sonny: Claudia?
Claudia: Yeah, uh -- ah -- I'll be right there.
Sonny: You okay?
Claudia: Yeah, I'm fine. I just --
[Claudia grunts]
Sonny: Claudia?
[Knock on door]
Sonny: Unlock the door.
Claudia: Okay, just a sec. I'll be right there. I'm coming.
Claudia: I tripped over something. I'll be -- I'll be right there.
Claudia: Oh.
[Claudia sighs]
Sonny: What the hell is going on in there?
Nikolas: I know it's terrifying to hear the word "biopsy," but don't jump to conclusions. A needle biopsy is a fairly noninvasive procedure.
Rebecca: Except a simple needle aspiration isn't enough. They want to do a core biopsy, which means that they're going to have to take a piece of my breast.
Nikolas: When are they going to do that?
Rebecca: Two weeks.
Nikolas: Two weeks? Did the doctors say why you had to wait so long?
Johnny: I let myself in.
Lulu: That's fine. I take it you're not here to see me.
Johnny: No. There's a P.R. thing that Kate wants me to go to and she wants me to take Maxie. There's some club opening and she thinks it's important that I'm there.
Lulu: I've been thinking a lot about our fight, about you being in the mob or not.
Johnny: Or not.
Lulu: I need you to understand why I'm upset.
Johnny: I think you made that pretty clear.
Lulu: I don't think that I did. When Kate married Sonny, she was trying to reform him, okay? And I'm not trying to do that. I'm a Spencer. I would never, ever try to change you.
Johnny: Lulu, you can't stand my family. Every time I so much as mention my sister, you get this --
Lulu: But that's my problem. That's my problem. That is not yours. If you want to leave your family, do it not because you're trying to please me. Do it because you want to. Or don't do it. I'm just saying I just want you to be honest with me.
Maxie: Spinelli, I can't believe you would trust me so little that you would fake being sick to keep me from going on a date with Johnny.
Spinelli: It was Maximista herself who confessed to carnal temptations with the mob prince.
Maxie: Yeah, but that's only when you said you were going to go into permanent hiding in Sri Lanka or wherever, and you didn't do that.
Spinelli: Are you implying that you no longer harbor affections for the overrated charms of John Zacchara?
Maxie: This is all your fault.
Jason: I don't even know what you're talking about.
Maxie: You should be ashamed of yourself.
Spinelli: Wait a minute; Stone Cold had no idea of my plans --
Maxie: You are Spinelli's hero. He wants to be just like you, even though you can't stay in a relationship because you push away every woman who cares about you -- but you're not going to do that to us. Don't let Jason do that to us. Nowhere does it say that we fall within his extremely dysfunctional relationship parameters.
Spinelli: I'm not sure I follow. What's going on here?
Maxie: We're better than that, me and you, right, Spinelli? I mean, we trust each other.
Spinelli: There's no one that the Jackal trusts more.
Maxie: Well, good, because I think you're perfect just the way you are, and you don't need to turn into an unemotional block of concrete like him.
Spinelli: Okay, perhaps that's a bit harsh.
Maxie: Oh, see, I knew you would see it my way. Thank you. okay, I will call you as soon as I'm done with my date with Johnny, okay? Bye. Bye, Jason.
Spinelli: I'm not entirely certain what just happened.
Jason: She just played you, Spinelli.
Carly: You wish that you could've done more the night Michael was shot. But there was nothing else to do, Jax. All the love that you have for me and my boys could not have made what happened okay. And I don't want you punishing yourself for it.
Jax: Well, maybe it's what I didn't do that matters.
Carly: I've lived in regret too long and I want to move forward with you, just like we promised, okay?
Jax: Yeah, I know. I just -- I spent so much time being angry at Sonny and Jason for the constant violence that follows them around. And I always convince myself that the choices I made would never hurt the people that I love. But that's exactly what I did when I covered for Jerry. Isn't it?
Sonny: I didn't know you were sleeping. I don't mean to disturb you.
Claudia: Yeah, I was sleeping, which is unusual for me because I have not been able to sleep at all much lately. I think that, you know, with everything that's been going on, I've just been really stressed out and on edge, and I guess I finally just caught up with me.
Sonny: Well, I just want to say that I didn't have time for you earlier and now I do. So if you want to go ahead and --
Claudia: I will come to your room. Let me just freshen up a little bit.
Sonny: No, no, no, don't -- you know I don't -- freshen up, just rumpled, sleepy, I like --
Claudia: No, I know, but I won't change, I promise.
Sonny: I'll wait. It's fine.
Claudia: What are you doing?
Sonny: Want a drink?
Lulu: I would much rather you be in the mob and be honest about it than out resenting it or resenting me.
Johnny: Lulu, I walked out on my family business because I wanted to. But now Claudia needs my help and I'm going to give it to her.
Lulu: Okay, okay. What kind of help?
Johnny: I can't tell you.
Lulu: So much for honesty.
Johnny: Claudia needs me, and I'm not going to turn my back on her, especially now.
Lulu: Who said anything about turning your back on her? I am asking you to trust me enough to be honest with me. Whatever secret you're keeping with Claudia -- just tell me.
Johnny: I --
Maxie: Oh, God, not again, you guys. We don't have time for this, okay? We have to get to the club opening.
Lulu: Maxie, come back later. We're busy.
Maxie: Clearly, you guys can have angst anytime, but a club opening, that happens just once.
Johnny: Maxie, just go ahead. I'll catch up with you.
Lulu: Thank you. I love that idea.
Maxie: Okay, then you can call Kate and tell her Johnny and I were late to the opening because you needed your insecurity blanket.
Lulu: Can you be a little bit compassionate?
Maxie: Could you be a little bit professional?
Lulu: Okay, go.
Johnny: Lulu, I'm not going to walk out on you now.
Maxie: You're not walking out on her. You guys are being so dramatic. You're going to work, and sooner would be better than later.
Lulu: It's okay. You know what, just go. We'll talk about this later.
Johnny: All right.
Maxie: It's your fault --
[Door closes]
Claudia: What are you doing?
Sonny: What are you doing?
Claudia: Look, I just -- I don't want it like this, okay? I don't want to do it like this.
Sonny: Like what?
Claudia: I don't want to do a quickie in my bed, in my messy, dirty bed.
Sonny: Ah, come on.
Claudia: And you're drinking out of my dirty glasses and -- oh, come on. A girl needs a little bit of romance.
Sonny: You never cared about this stuff before.
Claudia: Well, I care about it now. Just give a girl a break, will you?
Sonny: Well, hold on.
Claudia: We need to have a little bit of romance. So you go downstairs and you just wait for me. Let me freshen up.
Sonny: Okay, but don't take long, okay? Because I need it right now.
Claudia: Okay.
Sonny: All right?
Claudia: I'll be right there.
[Phone rings]
Johnny: What's up?
Claudia: I need you now.
Johnny: I'm working.
Claudia: It's a matter of life and death. I'm not kidding.
Johnny: What's going on?
Claudia: If you don't get over here right now, Sonny is going to find out -- he's going to find out about Michael.
Jax: In spite of all the crimes, Jerry is alive and running around causing who knows what kind of havoc.
Carly: Would you rather he was dead?
Jax: He's dead to me. I just can't help but wonder how different things would've been if I hadn't helped him after the metro court incident.
Carly: Stop. You can't blame yourself for all the horrible things your brother did. And you know what? I don't even want to think about that. When I look at you, Jax, I see the man I love. I don't see your brother or any of the horrible things he's done.
Nikolas: You can't tell a woman that she needs a core biopsy and then make her wait two weeks for the procedure.
Doctor: I'm not in charge of scheduling.
Nikolas: Doctor, you have a patient here with a potentially serious condition. Call whoever you need to call in scheduling and tell them it needs to get done tomorrow.
Doctor: Under normal circumstances, we might be able to fit Miss Shaw in next week. But since the fire at General Hospital, we're stretched thin and overbooked in every department.
Nikolas: I'm well aware of the burden here at Mercy. I sit on the board of directors at General Hospital. I also know that anything is possible. So whatever this costs, I'll pay for it.
Doctor: I understand your anxiety, Mr. Cassadine, but that's not how we practice medicine here. You can't buy your way to the head of the line.
Nikolas: Okay, Doctor, please, wait, wait. I'm not looking for preferential treatment, but I am looking for some compassion here. You ordered a core biopsy instead of a less invasive needle biopsy. Can you tell us why?
Doctor: Because of the specific characteristics of Miss Shaw’s mass.
Rebecca: Characteristics -- that means you think it's –
Doctor: Let's not jump to any conclusions. We'll know more after the biopsy.
Nikolas: While she lives through two weeks of hell waiting for it.
Doctor: Look, I understand that Miss Shaw is an x-ray technician. That means you know how things work, don't you?
Nikolas: Of course she does. She's already thinking worst-case scenario. Now she has to live in fear for two weeks while you tell her to go on about her business.
Doctor: I know it's difficult. I'm sorry.
Nikolas: Okay, forget about the emotional roller coaster that you've put her on. Medically speaking, can you convince me that if the results -- God forbid there's a malignancy there -- that waiting two weeks won't affect her ability to have a good outcome?
Doctor: All right. All right. Let me see what I can do, all right? But at the very least, it'll be a week before I can get you in.
Rebecca: I can handle a week. Thank you.
Nikolas: Thank you.
Rebecca: I can't believe the things you said to him.
Nikolas: I'm really sorry if I overstepped --
Rebecca: No, that's not what I meant. I'm grateful. Just, you know, what you said about the way I feel, it's -- it's like you were inside my head.
Claudia: Sonny is in the living room. He can't know you're in the house. Why is she here?
Johnny: She was in the limo when you called me.
Claudia: John, make her go away.
Maxie: Hey, people who make desperate calls for help don't get to be choosy about who shows up to help them.
Johnny: It sounded urgent, and Maxie can be trusted.
Claudia: Fine, Ric Lansing is upstairs in my room, and Sonny doesn't know he's here.
Maxie: Just get him to go out the window. That usually works for me.
Claudia: He overdosed on pills and booze and he passed out cold after we had sex. You got to get him out of here.
Maxie: Finally, someone more screwed up than me.
Johnny: What exactly do you expect me to do about this, Claudia?
Claudia: I need you to get him to the hospital and make sure he gets his stomach pumped. I will distract Sonny.
Johnny: We're going to be carrying dead weight down the stairs. We're bound to make some noise.
Claudia: He won't notice. He's waiting to have sex with me.
Maxie: Hey, whoa, if Ric is up there naked, I'm not going upstairs.
Claudia: He's not naked. I dressed him. He's dressed. You have to hurry. Ric needs to live.
Johnny: I get it.
Claudia: Okay.
Johnny: Come on.
Maxie: Oh, this is going to work out perfect. I mean, the hospital is on the way to the airport.
Johnny: Get upstairs.
Claudia: How about making one of those for me?
Sonny: I'm way ahead of you. I'm going to just -- what took you so long?
Maxie: Oh, we're too late.
Johnny: He's still breathing. Get back here.
Maxie: Stoned guy passed out on the bedroom floor while she's downstairs with her gangster husband -- damn, your sister makes me look good.
Johnny: Okay, Maxie, we need to get him out of here now, so a little help would be nice.
Maxie: Well, you know, Kate's totally going to flip out if we miss that club opening.
Johnny: It's really not on the top of my list right now.
Maxie: If I lose my job, it will be. I'm going to make you pay in ways you haven't begun to think of.
Johnny: Hurry up, will you?
Maxie: I bet Kate would want to know if Claudia was cheating on Sonny.
Johnny: Open the door, okay?
Maxie: Oh!
Johnny: Honey, let go of him. And please, as a friend, keep your mouth shut.
Maxie: I'm just saying -- I think there's way more to this story. Ooh.
Rebecca: Hard to stay focused. I can't remember my address from five years okay.
Nikolas: Don't worry about it. I can make some calls, see if I can get you in another facility right away.
Rebecca: No, no, it's okay. I can wait. You know, believe it or not, from how way you handled things, I really feel a lot calmer.
Nikolas: I can tell. I'm glad.
Rebecca: You know, it's weird. One minute, I'm all calm and logical, and the next, I feel like my head is going to explode. And then I get really angry.
Nikolas: Well, they say anger is fear disguised, and you have every right to be afraid. You got a tough couple of days ahead of you.
Rebecca: Yeah. I'll deal with it.
Nikolas: You don't have to deal with it alone. I'm just saying -- you don't have any family nearby, no friends in town. I just want to help, no more, no ulterior motives.
Rebecca: You've been a big help already. I mean, you couldn't tell from how I crumbled in front of that radiologist, but I don't take anyone's garbage, ever.
Nikolas: Come home with me. Let me take care of you.
[Music plays]
Claudia: Just tell me what you want, and that is what I'm going to do, okay? Does that sound good, hmm?
Sonny: Okay.
Claudia: Okay.
[Claudia chuckles]
Sonny: Hold on. Not that I'm complaining.
Claudia: Better not be.
Sonny: What the hell was going on upstairs?
Claudia: What do you mean? What was going on last night?
Sonny: Yeah.
Claudia: That's what I want to talk about, last night.
Sonny: Right.
Claudia: That was incredible. That was pretty incredible, right? You had all these heavy hitters here, and you were the most powerful guy in the room, and -- just like I knew that, you know, you could be, and you made me your wife. You made me your life partner, and so now I just want to show you how grateful I can be.
Singer: I need you
Claudia: Okay?
[Turns up music volume]
Singer: From the bottom of my heart I need you
[Maxie whimpers]
[Knock on door]
Lulu: Hey, Spinelli, what's wrong?
Spinelli: I just -- I wish to wait here for fair Maximista and the mob prince to return from their duty-bound date in the name of fashion. I need to make amends for my reprehensible lie.
Lulu: Okay, since when have you told a lie that's reprehensible?
Spinelli: Well, I -- I feigned illness so that Maximista would stay and nurse her ailing friend rather than attending said club opening with her paid escort, but alas, the deception was uncovered, and now Maximista is regrettably hurt and disappointed by my subterfuge.
Lulu: Okay, you just have to stop obsessing about these dates that Kate keeps sending her and Johnny on, because it's just a job.
Spinelli: I did some statistical analysis on romance in the workplace. The odds are not encouraging.
Lulu: Oh. Okay, Spinelli --
Spinelli: What?
Lulu: If Johnny says he's doing this for the money, I have to believe him, and if you care about Maxie the way that you say you do, then you have to find a way to trust her, too.
Spinelli: The original blonde one is far too kind. Her innocence is reminiscent of simpler days gone by.
Lulu: If something's bothering you, you can tell me, you know.
[Phone rings]
Spinelli: Oh, is it Maximista?
Lulu: No, it's work. I got to take this. One second. Hi, Clarice. Oh, stop -- stop yelling! I -- I can't -- I can't understand you. No, Johnny and Maxie left ages okay. What do you mean, they never made it to the club?
Maxie: I'm not sure we should be doing this.
[Privacy window rolls up]
Johnny: It's too late. We got to take him to Mercy to get his stomach pumped.
Maxie: And when they report us to the cops?
Johnny: We're going to tell the cops the same thing we told the driver, that Ric had too much to drink. We can't let him die, Maxie.
[Breaks squeal]
[Maxie screams]
Maxie: Oh -- oh, my God, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny! Okay, maybe we could just dump him on the sidewalk outside the E.R. or something.
Johnny: And if he dies before they find him?
Maxie: Oh, God, what was your sister thinking? Sleeping with Sonny's brother inside Sonny's house?
Johnny: It's pretty clear that Claudia wasn't thinking, Maxie.
Maxie: You know, I think it's really weird that he O.D.'d on pills and alcohol. I think there's way more going on to this story, and since I'm in it up to my neck now, you owe it to me to tell me what's going on.
Johnny: Can I trust you?
Maxie: Of course you can trust me. Obviously, I have secrets of my own. I've managed to keep them. Some of them actually include you.
Johnny: Yeah, and you tell Spinelli everything.
Maxie: I won't tell him this, I swear.
Johnny: It goes back to the thing that I can't tell Lulu, the thing that'll blow us apart.
Maxie: I'm sure that makes sense to you.
Johnny: Maxie, just please don't ask. Just know that I have to go through with this.
Maxie: You're turning yourself inside out to help your sister out of a situation she obviously got herself in. Wow. Georgie used to do that for me all the time. For Georgie's sake, I'll help you, no questions asked.
Singer: Insatiable for me
Sonny: Wait, wait. Don't get me wrong. You know, it's nice here, but you changed the subject earlier.
Claudia: I did?
Sonny: Yeah, you did, and you know, the harder you work at trying to distract me makes me think there's something else going on.
Claudia: That's nice, Sonny.
Sonny: I just want a little truth here. That's all.
Claudia: I give you what you asked for, and you think that I have an agenda?
Sonny: You've been working very hard since the mob summit, right, but it turned out great, so I don't understand why you're working that hard, so it makes me think that something happened last night that you're not telling me about.
Claudia: What happened was I saw how great we could be together, and I -- I realized what I -- what I stand to lose.
Sonny: But I haven't given you any reason to think you're going to lose anything.
Claudia: Sonny, I turned my father over to you. I pretty much handed it to you with a big bow on him. I stood by you. I've shown you that I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this marriage work. I'm giving you everything. The least you could do is just try to meet me halfway.
Sonny: Yeah, halfway. I could do halfway. Yeah.
Singer: So suddenly sweet melody
Rebecca: Yep, still as weird and gothic as I remember.
[Nikolas chuckles]
Nikolas: Care for some tea?
Rebecca: Yeah, can you put some brandy in it?
Nikolas: Yeah, sure.
Rebecca: Come on, does that stuff appear by magic?
[Nikolas chuckles]
Nikolas: I called ahead and had Alfred prepare it. You remember Alfred, right?
Rebecca: Yeah, the butler?
Nikolas: Yeah.
Rebecca: Yep, still weird and gothic. Hmm. Is it just me, or do they keep that hospital really cold?
Nikolas: No, they do. You're right. Here, let me get you a blanket.
Rebecca: Thanks.
Nikolas: There you go. Better?
Rebecca: Hmm.
Nikolas: Have a seat.
Rebecca: Good. I don't like feeling this way.
Nikolas: Yeah, I know. You know, some people meditate, some people -- some people pray. Me, I like to think about what I'm grateful for, even if it's just a nice, hot cup of tea, with brandy in it.
Rebecca: Yeah. Did you go through all this with Emily?
Nikolas: This isn't about Emily anymore. It's about you. It's about your body, your experience, your fear. I want to help you, but I'm not going to inflict my history on you, okay?
Rebecca: What if I want you to? You know, I know I spent weeks telling you that I didn't want to hear about Emily, but she survived breast cancer, you know? I want to know how. I want to know how she fought it, how she got through it. I want to know everything, because my life might depend on it.
Carly: Michael, you won't believe what Jax had for dinner.
Jax: At least I didn't make you have any.
Carly: He made me look at it. Do you have any idea what uni is? Sea urchin.
Jax: It's a delicacy in sushi restaurants.
Carly: It's gross, and it's orange and slimy, and it looks like something that should be scraped off the bottom of the boat.
Jax: Okay, it's a little hard to look at, which would explain why your mother orders the mixed tempura.
[Carly chuckles]
Carly: Yes, Jax has been broadening my horizons, and I have been letting him. Never going to give up my pizza, though, but I am starting to be a little more adventurous, and when you --
Jax: Hey, it's okay.
Carly: Wow. I've just been fighting it for so long, you know? This is my son's existence. I mean, I got it in my head. It's just -- the possibility of moving on just never seemed real until now.
Jax: What changed?
Carly: You. I want to be thankful for what I have, be thankful for us.
Claudia: I didn't know you had a business meeting.
Sonny: We need to follow up on the meeting.
Claudia: Well, okay. It was a great night, huh?
Sonny completely solidified his position as the head of the combined Zacchara-Corinthos organization. A little enthusiasm, Jason, or -- okay.
Sonny: Okay, Claudia, we got a lot to talk about, so you know.
Claudia: Okay.
Sonny: Yeah.
Claudia: I'll go do something outside of the house.
Sonny: All right. [Sonny sighs] Tell me everything that happened with the FBI.
Jason: All right, Rayner came to my apartment, and he basically told me that I had to wear the wire to the meeting. It turned into a choice between Spinelli, who doesn't really deserve to go to prison, and --
Sonny: And me, who has. Why did you decide to warn me?
Jason: Well, because I didn't want you to say anything incriminating before I could wreck the wire.
Sonny: You know what I'm asking.
Jason: I would never give you up to the FBI, Sonny. I wore a wire so I could stall Rayner. I knew Spinelli was trying to destroy some evidence. So when you gave me the look at the meeting --
Sonny: Mm-hmm.
Jason: I shoved Ric.
Ric dumped a drink all over me, and then we wrecked the wire.
Sonny: Did Rayner figure it out?
Jason: Yeah, he figured it out. That's why he called me into his office. He figured out that I had warned you, so he brought Spinelli in. He tried to arrest me, he tried to arrest Spinelli, but by that time, the evidence was gone.
Sonny: So the weirdo Spinelli was good enough to beat the feds.
Jason: Yeah, not by himself. He had the help of another FBI agent and Sam. Anyway, Rayner wasn't happy, to say the least, but without the evidence, he had to cut us loose.
Sonny: Well, you know what the problem is here, though? Spinelli is just too involved, and I'm going to tell you why.
Jason: All right.
Sonny: I'm going to tell you why. I know he has great skills and everything, but he doesn't -- you know, he just doesn't act like the normal human being, and he wanders around. He babbles. Nobody understands what he's saying, and it's like he's living in his own fantasy world. And you're giving him enough access to get near things he shouldn't get near. He's going to do something incriminating one day, and I can't have my enforcer under the thumb of the FBI.
Jason: I'm making arrangements right now.
Sonny: What kind?
Jason: Well, Spinelli wants to open a P.I. agency with Sam. I think he's going to be good at it. It's going to keep him busy. I'm going to make sure that he stays out of trouble.
Sonny: P.I. agency? I can't have your focus split. I need somebody around me at all times that I can trust.
Jason: Well, then maybe it'd be easier to get rid of Claudia.
Johnny: Are you ready? Here goes nothing.
Maxie: No, leave it to me, okay? Help! Somebody help me! My boyfriend and I were out clubbing, and he took something weird. His eyes rolled back in his head. He needs his stomach pumped.
Orderly: Do you have any idea what he took?
Maxie: No, no, but he was partying like he was back in college -- which, let's face it, was when hair bands were popular -- so it could be anything.
Johnny: His pulse is getting weaker.
Orderly: Look, I'll send someone to take his information. Don't worry. We'll take care of him, okay?
Johnny: Hair bands?
Maxie: Can we go now?
Johnny: Yeah.
Rebecca: You know, I feel so selfish. It can't be easy for you.
Nikolas: No. I told you this isn't about -- this isn't about Emily anymore. I can look right at you and see that this is your struggle and yours alone.
Rebecca: Yeah, except I'm not alone.
Nikolas: No.
Rebecca: It helps to know that.
Nikolas: And I want you to know that I'm not trying to take advantage of your situation.
Rebecca: Oh, no, honestly, all I'm feeling right now is grateful that I met you. It's really cold in here.
Nikolas: I know. I'm sorry. Let me get a blanket for you.
Rebecca: Yeah, thanks. There you go. There.
Rebecca: Yeah, I don't think that's going to fix it. Look, I wish I could -- this is going to sound really strange, but would you just put your arms around me?
Spinelli: Oh, Maximista, it is a relief --
Maxie: Thank God that's over with. I never want to go to another club opening as long as I live.
Spinelli: Uh, but, Maximista, according to --
Maxie: The paparazzi were going insane because Christian showed up, and they were hounding the guy practically the whole night, right, Johnny? I don't think they got a picture of us together the entire time.
Lulu: Well, at least the band was good. I heard Time's Echo is supposed to be great live.
Maxie: They were fantastic. They closed the show with one of my favorites. That's probably what made the whole trip worthwhile.
Lulu: The lead singer called in sick, and the band never showed up, and according to Clarice, neither did you. Feel free to jump in any time, Johnny.
Claudia: Thank God.
[Claudia sighs]
Claudia: I was so worried about you. You almost died. Ric, it's okay. Don't -- don't tax yourself too much. You're in the hospital, obviously. They say you're going to be fine.
Ric: What happened?
Claudia: Uh, I don't know, actually. You were talking one minute, and then you just passed out cold. I was scared out of my mind. I couldn't risk Sonny finding you there. I mean, can you imagine trying to explain that one away? I called Johnny, and he came and got you, and he brought you here, but don't worry. I covered. Sonny doesn't suspect anything.
Ric: Yeah, I'll bet you covered, you lying bitch. You tried to kill me.
Sonny: Actually, Claudia's turned out to be a valuable asset. It was her idea for the party. It turned out exactly the way she said it would, solidifies my position, and she risked her life to side with me. I can't just turn around and dump her.
Jason: It's your call.
Sonny: It's your call, right? You're saying that because you don't want to argue with me, but you think I'm dead wrong.
Sonny: How many women have I been with my whole life? How many women have been hurt because of me? Claudia -- look, she lived in this world. She knows the business side of it, the risks, and you know, we like, you know, a lot of the same things.
Jason: Come on. Are you sure about that?
Sonny: I told you in life you pay for what you do. I'm not going to ever have happily ever after. You know what I'm going to have? The life I deserve, the wife I deserve.
Jason: See, but I know you. If you're staying with Claudia to punish yourself for Michael, he wouldn't want that.
Sonny: I tried, Jason, at a different kind of life with Kate, and that didn't work out. I tried a second chance at something that I hadn't earned yet. And who paid for my arrogance? Not -- not me. Michael.
Jason: Yeah, well, we're all responsible for what happened to Michael.
[Sonny pours a drink]
Sonny: That's a good one. He was with me that night. Nothing can change that. I'm going to carry that with me the rest of my life. I'm trying very hard to come to terms with that. How long has it been since Michael was shot? A year now? And I felt like I slept through that whole period, the anger --
Sonny: You know what? I'm seeing clearly now, and I'm going to do things differently, like I didn't do before.
Jason: I mean, is this because of the new procedure?
Sonny: No, no, no, no. I'm going to work real hard at finding out who shot my son.
Sonny: I want you to get whatever you can about the night he was shot, any piece of information you have on that son of a bitch Ian Devlin before you blew him away. Prove to me that he acted alone and that there's nobody else responsible.
Carly: I can tell there's still something on your mind.
Jax: No.
Carly: Did you not hear a word I said? I just had the revelation of my life. I thought you were hanging on to every word.
Jax: No, no, of course, I heard every word. That's -- you're absolutely right. The best way to honor Michael is to live life to the fullest. Come on.
Carly: Hey. Goodbye, sweetheart. I love you. Mommy will be back soon.
Carly: Oh, my God.
