Alexis: No, no -- Courtney, no, don’t. Just stay right here.
Courtney: Well, somebody has to do something.
Alexis: Max, Milo, Fido -- whatever -- do something.
Max: Look, we're here to guard Sonny's children.
Michael: Do what she says.
Morgan: Do what she says.
Alexis: Fine.
Nikolas: Courtney's not your property.
Jax: But she is my wife.
Nikolas: Yeah, because you're dragging your feet on the divorce.
Jax: What's your hurry? I mean, do you honestly expect that I would just let my wife go without a fight?
Max: Ok, everybody needs to take a step back here, all right?
Jax: All right.
Alexis: Do you guys have any idea how juvenile you're acting?
Nikolas: Who cares?
Courtney: You know what, I don't care what you make of it, ok? I'm not going to let Nikolas steal my child.
Emily: Cat got your tongue, Carly, or didn't you understand the question? It shouldn't matter to you that I'm in love with Sonny since you've been telling anyone who will listen that you're over him, right?
Carly: It's true.
Emily: Oh, great. Well, then we have nothing to talk about.
Carly: No, one thing. The road is clear for you to be with Sonny, as long as you don't care about breaking your poor, worried brother's heart, Emily.
Sonny: A lot of people say that I have disposable income. I'd like to spread some your way.
Patrick: Oh, you would?
Sonny: Yeah, just -- whatever you want, just ask.
Patrick: Why?
Sonny: I admire talent. The way you can hold a man's life in your hands like Jason Morgan -- that is a miracle.
Patrick: I have a unique ability. No fear. My hands never shake.
Sonny: You want to know a real miracle? Manny Ruiz dies in surgery. I don't care how -- a clamp, you know, falls, a scalpel slips. The more pain, the better. I don't care, as long as that son of a bitch dies.
Robin: No, Sonny.
Sonny: We're kind of in a private conversation right now, Robin, but --
Robin: I know what you're doing. You're trying to arrange a murder, and I can't let that happen.
Manny: You know, this could be good. Your face, that body -- the last things I see before I die. Could be worse.
Sam: Yeah?
Manny: Yeah.
Sam: Well, enjoy it while you can, huh?
Manny: Sweetness, you ever see what happens to someone who's been smothered? Their eyes bug out, lips turn blue.
Sam: Mm-hmm.
Manny: And your body -- it looks like something that's been scraped off the bottom of the ocean.
Sam: Yeah?
[Manny laughs]
Sam: That would be an improvement for you, don't you think?
Manny: Aw.
Sam: No -- Jason, stop it! Don't stop me!
Manny: Hey, you might as well let her do it since you don't have the guts. Hey Sweetness, come back!
Jason: I don't want you killing for me.
Sam: If he walks out of here, there is no telling what he'll do. Manny has to die.
Waitress: Here you go. What's wrong?
Michael: The vegetables.
Waitress: What, overcooked?
Michael: No, there are too many of them. Besides, we already had dessert, so why eat healthy now? Bring back a large order of fries.
Waitress: Ok.
Alexis: I told you to help me with the children, not act like one. What the hell happened to you?
Jax: Look, Nikolas talked Courtney into getting a second paternity test, possibly jeopardizing the baby, because his ego won't accept that he isn't the father.
Nikolas: I know you want to believe the best of Jax, but he's playing you, Courtney. He thinks if he can cause enough trouble, you know, he can intimidate you into going back to him.
Emily: That is so typical of you, Carly. When in doubt, use Jason. Couldn't you have waited until he recovered? He just had brain surgery, in case you forgot.
Carly: Which is exactly why you'd think you'd be a little more considerate instead of worrying him half to death. He would lay down his life for you. The only thing he wants is for his precious little sister to be safe and happy, and he knows with Sonny you'd be neither. Two outcomes, Emily -- shattered or death. And who would be put in the middle? Jason, forced to choose between his precious little sister and his closest friend in the whole world, or destined to hate Sonny for the rest of his life. Wow. Are you that selfish that you would force Jason to be put in that position after everything he's done for you?
Emily: You know, ok, this is crazy on so many levels; I don't even know where to start. How about the part where you of all people have the nerve to call me selfish? And let me just make sure I've got this straight. If I truly love Jason, then I'll stay away from Sonny. Is that how you see it?
Carly: I know you'll do the right thing, Emily. You always do.
[Elevator starts]
Sonny: I respect your principles, but Manny Ruiz is murdering scum.
Robin: I agree he should be punished -- by the justice system.
Sonny: He escaped custody twice, almost a third time.
Robin: Sonny, this is not up for negotiation, ok? I know that in your world you get to decide who lives and dies, but not here. This is a hospital. We save lives here. We don't look the other way while they're murdered. Look, I understand your frustration. I really do. I mean, the guy tried to shoot me, too, but you are not going to solve your problem this way.
Patrick: Hmm. Very impressive -- scolding a mobster on his lack of morality. But you wasted your energy.
Robin: I was just supposed to stand here and let him coerce you into botching up a surgery?
Patrick: It never would've happened. This operation is going on my record as a surgeon. I intend to make sure it goes off without a hitch.
Sam: No, Jason --
Jason: Sam, I want you to listen to me, ok? There's a time and place for everything. There's no way that you can get away with this. An autopsy would show that Manny was smothered.
Sam: Are you kidding? I will wear gloves.
Jason: Sam --
Sam: I don't care if I get arrested. I'll wear gloves.
Jason: Don't let him get to you. He wants you to throw away your life. That way he can hurt us both. Don't help him.
Manny: You look like you're going to give me bad news.
Patrick: You have an arteriovenous malformation.
Manny: Sounds kinky.
Patrick: The syndrome occurs when the arteries mash together, diminishes blood supply to a certain area. In your case it's the frontal lobe of your brain.
Manny: Is it fixable?
Patrick: That's the plan. We're ready to rock and roll.
Manny: Will she be here?
Patrick: You have a problem with that?
Manny: I don't trust her. She wants me dead like the others.
Patrick: Oh, you're way off base, my man. Dr. Scorpio, queen of ethical behavior, is probably the only person in the tristate area, with the possible exception of me, who believes your life should be saved.
Sonny: Should you be walking around so soon?
Jason: I'm ok.
Sam: You know what? It's my fault. I decided to take care of Manny, and Jason stopped me.
Sonny: Well, I just told that hotshot surgeon to name his price because I want him to botch the operation, and Robin comes in on her high horse.
Sam: Robin's working on Manny?
Sonny: Well, it doesn't matter what Robin wants because Dr. Ego is the boss, and he's determined to prove how scary brilliant he is by making that psycho as good as new.
[Phone rings]
Sonny: Hello?
[Shouting]
Max: Your kids are out of control. We need you at Kelly’s now.
Sonny: I'm on my way.
Jason: What's wrong?
Sonny: I left the kids with Max, which -- right? And now they're at Kelly’s, and it sounds like all hell is breaking loose.
Ric: Hey.
Elizabeth: Hey. I haven't seen you since the train crash.
Ric: Yeah, that's a bizarre conversation opener. "I haven't seen you since we were buried alive and your new husband and my pregnant wife almost died."
Elizabeth: Yeah, but they didn't, thank God.
Ric: Yeah.
Elizabeth: And you have a new baby girl.
Ric: Yes.
Elizabeth: Molly's beautiful.
Ric: Well, thank you. I happen to agree, although I can't really be objective about that.
Elizabeth: So, how's fatherhood treating you?
Ric: It's completely changed my life. I know that sounds trite, but it is true. My focus, my priorities -- they've all shifted.
Elizabeth: Yeah, well, you don't have to tell me. That's how I was the first time I held Cameron. When I was pregnant, I was this struggling would-be artist, and six months later I was in nursing school.
Ric: Well, I hope you're not going to give up all of your dreams.
Elizabeth: I just have new ones.
Ric: Yeah, I know what that's like. The past couple of months I felt like I was torn in two.
Elizabeth: Between Alexis and Sonny?
Ric: Yeah, you know, she didn't want him in our lives, and I wanted a relationship with my brother. There just didn't seem to be any room for compromise. I think that more than anything is what split Alexis and I apart.
Elizabeth: And now little Molly has pulled you back together?
Ric: Yeah.
Elizabeth: Yeah.
Ric: You know, when I realized that my daughter was going to be born in that tunnel, and Alexis nearly died -- I don't know, everything just became amazingly clear. Bonding with Sonny -- that was a life that I didn't choose, and I can't go back to that and I really never would. I'm married to Alexis and I'm a father to Molly, and that's what matters more to me than any leftover feeling of wanting to be important to Sonny. Doing it again, aren't I? That's it. Ok.
Elizabeth: Wait, wait --
Ric: No, no, no.
Elizabeth: Wait, wait. What are you doing?
Ric: Well, I'm thinking out loud in front of you. I -- I did that at your wedding, and it was inexcusably rude. I'm so sorry.
Elizabeth: It's ok.
Ric: Well, you really were a beautiful bride, in case I didn't tell you that. Did I say anything about that?
Elizabeth: You did, you did, not that I mind hearing it again. Any more than I mind hearing you think out loud with me. You know, I love my husband. I wouldn't change anything that has led me to where I am now -- to being Lucky's wife and Cameron’s mom. But I will never forget the memories we made, our bond. And you will always have a very special place in my heart. And you're a dad.
Ric: Yeah, yeah.
Elizabeth: I'm so glad you are. I knew you'd be a good one.
Ric: Well, thank you for that, for always giving me the benefit of the doubt.
Elizabeth: Yeah.
Ric: Listen, I got to -- got to take care of some business --
Elizabeth: Ok.
Ric: And then I need to get back home so I can take care of Molly, ok?
Elizabeth: Give that little girl a kiss for me.
Ric: I will do just that.
Elizabeth: Ok.
Jax: If necessary, I will get a court order forbidding Courtney from doing any more frivolous tests without my consent.
Courtney: Frivolous? How dare you imply that I would jeopardize our child, Jax. Dr. Meadows said the risks are minimal.
Jax: Yes, but they exist. Would you be so willing to take a chance if the baby was his and I was the one asking for another test?
Alexis: You know, clearly this is a fraught situation and we need to deal with this in another way. Get over here!
Jax: Listen, you went to some pretty extreme lengths to protect Kristina. Why am I not allowed to do the same?
Emily: Oh, I think we're done.
Carly: You owe it to Jason to stay away from Sonny. And more than that, you owe it to yourself.
Lainey: What happened to meeting me on the ground floor?
Carly: Well, you know, Emily and I had some things to discuss, but it's fine. Everything's good now. Hey.
Sonny: Yeah?
Carly: What's up? You look upset. Is something wrong with the boys?
Sonny: The boys? No. They -- well, yeah, they're with Max at Kelly’s. There's a little bit of a problem, but I'm going to take care of it right now.
Carly: Well, I want to go with you.
Sonny: Um --
Carly: Or I'm going on my own.
Lainey: Carly --
Carly: These are my boys, ok? I will see you back at Roselawn, I promise.
Lainey: So much for Carly’s commitment to recovery.
Emily: Maybe you haven't realized this, Lainey, but the way Carly’s acting just now -- that's as sane as she gets.
Sonny: I'm not sure how the kids got to Kelly’s. I left them with Alexis.
Carly: Well, I'm still waiting for a really good explanation as to why you left my boys with that woman.
Sonny: I --
Carly: What the hell were you thinking?
Sonny: I didn't have a choice. Leticia's day off, Emily doesn't live with us anymore, thanks to you. So if you don't like the fallout, then, you know, the only one you can blame is yourself.
Jason: What do you want?
Ric: Nice to see you, too.
Jason: What do you want, Ric?
Ric: Well, I don't know if Sonny informed you, but I am no longer on retainer as his attorney. I see he didn't inform you. Look, Jason, if -- if you're too ill to continue this conversation, I'll be happy to talk to your doctor, reschedule it. I was just under the impression that Sonny wanted this kind of thing handled.
Jason: If Sonny wants something done, just tell me what it is.
Ric: I need your signature on contracts for three of the offshore casinos. I'd like to clean up the paperwork before I turn it over to Justus.
Jason: Well, let me see them.
Ric: Here you are.
Ric: You're not seriously going to look over every page of legal boilerplate? It is standard contracts, Jason.
Jason: I don't sign anything you give me without reading it first.
Ric: Oh, you know, you don't get it, do you? You've won, Jason, ok? Whatever competition, whatever race, whatever fight we were having over who could matter more to Sonny, his brother or his hit man -- ok, you have beaten me hands down, ok? You've achieved a level of loyalty that I can't even barely comprehend. Sonny told me just before the train crash that you've never failed him, and I'm sure you never will. Do I resent you for that? Sure. Do I want to destroy you anymore? No. Not anymore. I have my own family, my own life.
Jason: Well, I want Justus to look these over before I sign them.
Ric: So much for making peace.
Jason: Ric, when I look at you, all I see is Carly chained to a wall. And I get that you were sick and now you're better, but I just don't care. I don't trust you and I never will, so give these to Justus.
Ric: I liked you better when you were dying.
[Rock music plays]
Patrick: I've reached the malformation. As the C.T. scan indicated, it's putting pressure on the frontal lobe which, as we know, is the part of the brain that controls aggression.
Robin: I don't like the patient's neurological readings. I think you should modify the procedure.
Patrick: Why would I want to, Dr. Scorpio?
Robin: To amp Manny's chances of a faster, easier recovery. I have a suggestion.
Patrick: Well, please enlighten us.
Robin: Repair part of the malformation but not all of it.
Patrick: The goal is to repair the entire vessel in one surgery.
Robin: I thought the goal was to give the patient a higher quality of life.
[Monitor alarm sounds]
Doctor: His pressure's starting to drop.
Robin: I knew we didn't have much time. We need to close him up.
Patrick: No way.
Robin: Dr. Drake --
Patrick: Stop distracting me. Clamp.
Jason: You ok?
Sam: Yeah, I'm fine. Ok, no. You know what? I am not fine. I'm -- I'm livid. Manny Ruiz is evil personified, a twisted thing who takes pleasure in tormenting and terrorizing people, especially women. And now, through karma or divine justice, he's got something wrong with his brain. And you know what I say? Good. Great. Let the pervert die. Why does he get to have another chance to live? So Dr. Drake can stroke his massive ego, or so Robin can feel really noble about saving the life of a man who shot her?
Jason: I want you to do something for me. It's not easy, but it's -- it's very important.
Sam: Ok, name it.
Jason: Hating on Manny like this just gives him power. The worrying; it's not worth it. You're poisoning yourself. Just be patient and trust me, Manny’s time will come.
Sam: Ok.
[Knock on door]
Lucky: How you feeling?
Jason: Not bad. Don't tell me you stopped by to check on me, Lucky.
Lucky: Actually, I'm on assignment from D.A. Durant.
Sam: That can't be good.
Lucky: If Manny dies, I've been ordered to place Jason under arrest for murder.
Alexis: Kristina --
Courtney: You are supposed to be this fierce advocate for female independence. Jax is trying to control me here. How can you be ok with that?
Nikolas: Listen, no offense, but you kept Sonny in the dark about being Kristina’s father for, what, three years?
Alexis: That's apples and oranges. He's a legitimate businessman, and Sonny is a -- is a thug who kills people for a living, or when he's not breaking up and getting back together with a lunatic. Ugh.
Carly: Who are you calling a lunatic, you split-personality nut case?
Dr. Kim: I was surprised to learn you had taken Carly on yet another excursion away from Roselawn.
Lainey: Carly used the pretense of her stepson's trial to trick me. Once we got to court, Carly proceeded to sneak away and go on what appears to be a very average day for Carly. She pays lip service to her recovery, but I've concluded that she has absolutely no real interest in it. Her sole priority is returning to her life -- her kids, Sonny. Though she appears to have overcome her dependence on him, but it could all be an act. I'm the therapist; I'm not a babysitter, which appears to be what Carly needs. I'm resigning from this case, effective immediately.
Dr. Kim: That won't be possible, Dr. Winters. You're gifted, and you've already developed trust with Carly.
Lainey: Are you listening to me? Carly doesn't trust me, she uses me.
Dr. Kim: Clearly, the situation as it stands is counterproductive. Adjustments will have to be made, but you won't be one of them.
Carly: Good to see you.
Sonny: What is going on?
Alexis: I just want you to remove everybody. Remove your guards, remove your thugs, remove your children, remove your wife, remove yourself from the premises.
Sonny: No, no, no, no, no, I'm not going anywhere till I get some answers.
Nikolas: You've had enough stress for one day. I'm going to take you home, ok?
Courtney: Will you tuck me in?
Nikolas: I can do better than that, I think.
Morgan: It can make five bags.
Jax: Drama seems to be over -- for now. Can I give you and Kristina a ride home?
Alexis: That's all right. I need to talk with him for a bit.
Jax: Are you sure?
Sonny: Yeah, she's sure.
Alexis: Can I answer for myself?
Sonny: Well, I'm just saying --
Alexis: Yes, I'm sure. Go, thank you. I'm fine.
Jax: Ok.
Alexis: I thought you told me she was going back to Roselawn.
Sonny: Ok, can we -- let's go outside.
Alexis: Fine. Then I would prefer it if Kristina not go anywhere near Carly at the moment.
Sonny: If this is about Carly’s nervous breakdown, you are in no position to criticize anybody else's mental health.
Alexis: Oh, come on.
Carly: Look, you don't need to worry about me spending time with Kristina, ok? My therapy is helping and I'm going to be out in a few days. My doctors even said so.
Alexis: I'm happy for you, I honestly am, and I'm sure the boys are thrilled to be near you. However, Kristina is mine; she's not yours. I get to be the one to set the limits, and I would prefer it if you would keep your distance from her.
Sonny: Oh, now you're being arbitrary like always, Alexis.
Carly: Do you think that I pose a danger to Kristina? Is that what you think?
Alexis: I don't know, Carly, which is why I have legitimate concerns. You are just recovering from a nervous breakdown, and to be perfectly frank, I had issues with your behavior before that. You have a history of being manipulative and deceitful.
Carly: How about neurotic and controlling?
Alexis: It is reflecting on your children.
Carly: Our children? Now it's our children?
Alexis: Your children are out of control! They are!
Sonny: What are you talking about?
Alexis: And they're overindulged.
Sonny: What do you -- what's wrong with a little overindulgence every once in a while? They're only young once.
Alexis: You think Michael thinks he's young when he's barking orders at every grownup around? He doesn't listen, he has no respect for any of them, and Morgan is emulating him.
Carly: Well, let's talk about Kristina. You have stifled and overprotected her so much, she won't even breathe without getting your permission first!
Sonny: Ok, ok, can we just -- for a second here? Hey. Yeah, yeah. So cute, aren't they?
Alexis: All right, here we go.
Carly: Hey, baby, come here. Come on.
Michael: Um, what were you guys fighting about?
Alexis: We're just having a lively exchange of views. I've always told Kristina that it's -- it's perfectly appropriate for people to express their views and be heard.
Michael: It sounded like a fight.
Sonny: Ok, uh, you know what? It's getting late, time to go home.
Michael: Can mom come and tuck us in?
Carly: I would love to.
Sonny: Well, you know what, buddy? Max is going to be taking mom to Roselawn.
Michael: Why? She's already here.
Carly: It's ok, it's all right. Hey --
Sonny: Well, she's already late as it is.
Carly: Come here, come here, come here, guys. Christmas is right around the corner. I'm going to be home --
Morgan: But you saw us here now.
[Sonny laughs]
Carly: Yeah. I love you.
Morgan: Everybody thinks that Christmas is --
Sonny: Ahem. Who loves you, sweetheart?
Kristina: Daddy.
Sonny: Daddy. Don't you ever forget that. Ok?
Kristina: Ok.
Sonny: Ok. Uh, buddy?
Michael: Mm-hmm?
Sonny: Can you thank Alexis for taking care of you?
Michael: Thank you, Alexis.
Alexis: You're very welcome, Michael.
Morgan: Thanks, Alexis.
Alexis: You're welcome, sweetheart.
Sonny: All right, come on, let's go. Got that. Got the jacket. Let's get out of here. Come on.
Courtney: God.
Nikolas: Get comfortable, relax. I'll make you some tea.
Courtney: What I really need is a kickboxing session. I mean, I want to punch something and picture Jax’s face on it.
Nikolas: Well, obviously I feel the same way, but I need to apologize. I shouldn't have let Jax goad me into another argument like that. It doesn't help the situation any.
Courtney: We can't go on like this, Nikolas. No, Jax gets more resentful and possessive every day. Alexis is right. I mean, we have to find a better way.
Nikolas: How far are you willing to go for peace?
Courtney: At this point, I would try anything.
Nikolas: Yeah? Would you give Jax what he wants? Would you leave me and go back to him?
Sam: Manny has a brain disorder. If he dies during surgery, how can that possibly be Jason’s fault?
Lucky: Jason and Manny have tried to kill each other more than once. They're in the same hospital on the same floor.
Sam: Yeah, but Jason is barely strong enough to even get out of bed.
Lucky: Honestly, Sam, if Jason wanted Manny dead, he could make it happen. Everybody knows that, which is why Durant is able to use it to his advantage.
Sam: All right, I see your point.
Lucky: It's not like I'm going to shed a tear if that psycho ends up dead. Manny held Elizabeth hostage, and as far as I'm concerned, he never paid the price for that. And for the record, I don't like Durant or his tactics. Listen, I'm going to take a walk, give you guys some time to make some calls, cancel a few plans.
Jason: I don't have any.
Lucky: Just in case.
Sam: All right, you wouldn't let me kill him, you can't kill him now. What's next?
Jason: How about a -- how about a movie?
Sam: Jason, I am serious.
Jason: So am I.
Sam: How can you be so calm knowing that as long as that creep is alive; he will be coming after us?
[Rock music plays]
[Monitor alarm sounds]
Doctor: Pressure's still dropping. He's becoming tachy.
Robin: You need to close.
Patrick: I'm not ready.
Robin: Well, at least give him another injection. It should keep him going long enough for you to finish.
[Alarm stops]
Patrick: Well. Nice to know you're good for something.
Robin: Well, we still haven't got long, so just get back to work.
Patrick: Take a look at this. The A.V.M. is positioned right where it affects inhibition and aggression. No wonder this guy's such a freak.
Courtney: You know what? I have thought about what it would be like if I got back together with Jax. You know, I wondered if we could even make it work. I've gone over the relationship in my mind from front to back -- all the good times, the fights -- and I always come back with the same question. You know, how much of it was real and how much of it was about Jax just getting the desired result? And even now, I mean, is he really this angry and hurt, or is it just a tactic to wear me down?
Nikolas: Well, you know where I stand on the subject. To me, Jax is a nothing but a manipulator, you know? Unfortunately, he also happens to be the father of your child, so we're stuck with him for right now.
Courtney: Yeah.
Nikolas: But it doesn't mean we have to let him win, right? Listen, you are not going to go back into a marriage with a man you don't love. I won't let you. We'll just -- we'll take this one day at a time, ok, you and me. Whatever it takes, as long as we're together.
Courtney: Ok.
Alexis: It was really very generous of Michael to share his game with you, but mommy thinks this game is really not a very good game. Remember what I told you? Remember I said guns are dangerous and that people who play with guns have run out of better ideas for things to do? There are some people that think this game is harmless -- your dad -- but I don't happen to agree. I think they shorten the attention span, stifle the imagination, and turn children into mindless button-pushing zombies. I mean, Michael is a very bright boy, and in his house it's ok for him to play with it. But in -- this is very confusing. I'll buy you whatever you want, honey. What do you want? A toy? A doll? A truck? Just not this, ok? How about that nice unicorn? You thought that was a nice thing. Mommy will get you that.
Ric: Help -- help, help.
Waitress: Here.
Ric: Just -- yeah, there you go. Thank you so much, I really appreciate -- hey, baby, how are you? Good to see you. Oh. Hi. Hey, you want to help? You want to help? Hey, roll her over there. She's sleeping so we don't want to wake her up, ok? Right here's good. Hey, come sit up on this -- come sit right up here. Ok, go the long way around. Here you go. Sit down right there, ok? If she wakes up make sure you talk to her, because I don't want to get her all crazy, ok? Thank you. Whoo. Boy, oh, boy. What did you throw away?
Alexis: Nothing.
Ric: What do you mean, nothing? What's going on?
Alexis: I'm a warrior, a parent fighting for my daughter's -- fighting for her intellect, fighting for her character against the forces of darkness.
Ric: Sonny.
Alexis: All of them, all of them -- Michael, Sonny, Morgan, and that woman that set women back thousands of years, Carly! Ow.
Carly: Did you see how upset Michael and Morgan were when I left? Take me by Sonny’s. Please, just let me surprise the boys. I can tuck them in. Then if Sonny insists that you take me back to Roselawn, you can, or you could take me to Metro Court. I'm half owner there, and then I --
Max: No.
Carly: What do you mean, no? You haven't even let me finish my sentence.
Max: Because I know whatever you're thinking is going to get me in trouble.
Carly: Max --
Max: Ahem.
Carly: Max, you don't have to worry about Sonny. If you're nice to me, I'll hire you away from him, and I'll make you Chief Security at my hotel. Better hours, better benefits, unlimited room service.
Max: Hmm. Hi. Uh, can you step on it? We need to get Carly back to Roselawn, like, five minutes ago. Great. Thank you.
Sonny: No on the video game? Yes on the video game? What --
Michael: Yes, yes.
Sonny: What happened here?
Michael: Well, we were playing with Kristina, and Alexis didn't tell us to pick up.
Sonny: Well, I'm telling you, and Morgan’s going to help.
Michael: Well, he doesn't want to help. He wants his mom back. So do I.
Sonny: Are you talking back to me?
Michael: Well, it's not fair.
Sonny: What's not fair?
Michael: You keep making mom go to Roselawn even though she hates it, and Emily -- you made her move out!
Emily: Michael, that's not what happened. Hey -- hey, guys! Hi. Listen, just because I'm not living in the guesthouse anymore doesn't mean I won't be around. I came to tuck you in.
Michael: Awesome.
Emily: Yeah, awesome. So you're not being fair to your father, Michael. It was my decision to leave, so I think you owe your dad an apology. Yes.
Michael: Sorry for getting mad. I guess it's not your fault. I love you, dad.
Sonny: Love you, too, buddy.
Jason: You're doing it again. You're letting Manny inside your head.
Sam: I'm sorry. I realize I'm obsessing. It's just --
Jason: No, no, don't -- don't be sorry. We have been through a lot lately. Do you know what you mean to me?
Sam: I think so.
Jason: Yeah. Well, you fought for my life when I just about gave up. And you forced me to face my biggest fear -- having that surgery -- and you got me through it. And the future we thought was lost is possible again, and I'm telling you, I promise that Manny -- nobody else is going to take it away from us.
Robin: I just thought you'd like to know Manny’s out of surgery.
Jason: How'd it go?
Robin: Patrick -- he repaired the malformed vessel.
Sam: Oh, that's great. So because of Patrick’s genius, Manny can live to stalk and murder another day. Thank you. Very nice.
Robin: We won't know what effect the surgery had on him until he wakes up.
Jason: You going to see him?
Robin: I always check on my patients.
Jason: Just take someone with you -- Patrick, a male orderly. He preys on women. I wouldn't go into his room alone.
Alexis: Michael is surgically attached to that awful, violent video game, and he's teaching her how to play it.
Ric: Well, I don't see it as really that alarming, Alexis. You know, boys at this age -- they like video games, and little sisters like to look up to their big brothers.
Alexis: Which is exactly my point. I don't want her emulating that Corinthos gunslinging behavior.
Ric: You're overreacting.
Alexis: I know. Everyone says that.
Ric: I know they do.
Alexis: All right, all right. Maybe I am. Look, she spends the majority of her time with us anyway, so she'll only be half insane. I mean, and our influence will certainly supersede his, and they say the majority of their personalities are already proven at 3 years old, so she's fine.
Ric: Right.
Alexis: She likes books, she likes music. The teachers at preschool think she's fantastic.
Ric: Of course she is.
Waitress: Here you go, honey. I found that in the trash. Must've gotten tossed by accident.
Alexis: You're right, you're right. There's nothing to worry about. I mean, she's too inherently sensible anyway. She's not going to be influenced by Sonny and Carly and their sweet but dysfunctional offspring.
[Electronic explosion]
Kristina: Look what Michael gave me. Bang, bang!
Carly: Dr. Kim, I know I missed our session, but it couldn't be helped. I had a family emergency.
Dr. Kim: I heard all about it.
Carly: I was just up in my room, and my computer's gone. What happened?
Dr. Kim: They've been packed and are being --
Carly: Packed? Oh, my God. Dr. Kim, thank you so much! This is great. Wow, that is so thoughtful of you guys. This is the best thing in the world. I assume that I get to go home, so that means I get to go Christmas shopping and I get to decorate the house.
Dr. Kim: You've misunderstood. You've abused your privileges, so they've been taken away.
Carly: I -- I didn't know there was a problem.
Dr. Kim: Your focus needs to be on yourself, not the outside world. That balance has made an alarming shift, so a decision's been made. You won't be allowed to go home for Christmas after all.
Sonny: The boys are happy to see you.
Emily: Yeah, they've gotten used to me.
Sonny: Well, it's a little more than that. They're crazy about you.
Emily: Well, the feeling is mutual. Wow, this is really quite a mess here.
Sonny: Well, see, I made the mistake of letting Alexis babysit. I'll never do that again.
Emily: Oh.
Sonny: Um, Carly’s going to be taking the boys for Christmas.
Emily: Yeah?
Sonny: Yeah.
Emily: Oh, does that make you sad?
Sonny: Well, I mean, you know, it's going to be strange not tripping over toys and sitting on forgotten sweaters. I was sort of getting used to, you know, the house being alive when you were here and the boys were here and, you know -- this time, you know, it's Christmas, and I'm not going to have anybody. So anyway --
Emily: Yeah. Well, I should go.
Sonny: You don't have to go.
Emily: Yeah, I do.
Sonny: Hey --
Emily: Yeah?
Sonny: Thank you.
Emily: Don't mention it.
Patrick: Mr. Ruiz was suffering from a previously undiagnosed brain disorder. I am happy to say the surgery to correct it was completely successful. The neurological tests definitely show that Mr. Ruiz's violent actions were a result of pressure on the part of the brain that controls aggression.
Reporter: Are you saying that Manny Ruiz should not be held responsible for his crimes?
Patrick: I'm not a judge or a lawyer.
Reporter: From a medical standpoint?
Patrick: With the problem corrected, Mr. Ruiz is no longer a threat to society.
Sam: What? No, this can't be happening. They cannot operate on Manny’s brain and then say he's a different person.
Jason: What if he is?
Robin: Something wrong?
Lucky: D.A. Durant wants to make sure that Manny doesn't escape again.
Robin: Oh. Well, anyway, I'm glad you're here. I told Jason I wouldn't go in there alone. Although, it does seem a little silly. I mean, the guy's recovering from brain surgery.
Lucky: Well, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Robin: Mr. Ruiz, can you hear me? It's Dr. Scorpio. You just had surgery. Do you remember?
Manny: I remember. And I'm sorry.
>> On the next "General Hospital" --
Michael: Christmas is pretty soon. Is mom coming home today?
Carly: I can check myself out whenever I want. I'm going to go see my kids. You can't stop me.
Jax: I want to apologize for my behavior the other night.
Nikolas: Whatever. I can't fly to Europe. I have very special plans.
