Luke: Skye, you're talking like my son is just slightly out of earshot and that if I talk long enough or beg loud enough, he'll, what, hear me and wake up?

Skye: It's been known to happen.

Luke: Well, the doctors are not so optimistic. Tony Jones told me that no one with Lucky's profile has ever recovered.

Skye: What if by some miracle --

Luke: Oh, please. You are not listening to me. No one -- miracles are for people who live in a fantasy world. My son is trapped here in the real world with no escape, and that doesn't seem to be changing.

Skye: So you won't even try?

Luke: I am trying. I have tried. I've held his hand; I've called his name until I’m hoarse. Nothing changes. And it's not going to until these machines are turned off and he's given the chance to choose for himself.

Skye: Prove him wrong, Lucky. Please, come back. We all need you, especially your father.

Alexis: I can't be pregnant.

Tony: Well, yes, you are. The routine tests I ran on you after your fall confirmed it. You're going to have another baby.

Ric: Hey. Sorry, I got back as quickly as I could.

Alexis: Tony has -- has to run some more tests on me.

Ric: Yeah, yeah, Brook Lynn told me. You ok?

Jason: No, don't -- don't touch anything.

Sam: Jason, this is Kristina’s bear. The kidnapper must've kept her here.

Jason: Someone must've tipped them off that we knew about this location.

Sam: Right, and that means there's probably evidence in this room, and I'm going to call the cops.

Jason: No, Sam. No, no cops.

Carly: Sonny, it says something. What does it say?

Sonny: "Park gazebo, midnight. Come alone."

Carly: Why aren't they just asking for money?

Sonny: Maybe they will tonight.

Carly: Ok, you need to get this to the police.

Sonny: No.

Carly: Sonny --

Sonny: No.

Carly: Sonny --

Sonny: No!

Carly: It's a possibility -- it's a way to get the charges dropped against Sam and Jason. Look, if Sam had kidnapped Kristina, you think she'd be running around taking meetings? She'd be trying to get out of the country, and Jason would be doing everything in his power to try and help her. I don't know, maybe we should give it to Steven. He could run D.N.A. tests, and he could give you some real clues.

Sonny: Or it could get my daughter killed.

Rachel: Well, I thought you would've figured it out by now. I did what you asked.

Courtney: I didn't ask you to do anything.

Rachel: Well, not directly. But I can read between the lines.

Courtney: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Rachel: We made a bond -- the society of women with messy ties to nasty men. It's like a sisterhood. Every now and then, we have to help each other out.

Courtney: It was you, wasn't it? You killed A.J.

Rachel: Now it's time for you to return the favor.

Courtney: You're crazy. I'm calling the police.

Rachel: I'd reconsider that. After all, I didn't kill A.J. You did.

Courtney: I did not kill A.J.

Rachel: Well, the police might disagree.

Courtney: Well, I'll just have to tell them what really happened.

Rachel: And I'll deny it. And quite believably, too, since I didn't even know the man. Now you, on the other hand -- you had motive. A.J. shocked you with the news that you were still legally married. He wouldn't give you a divorce so you could go marry that other guy -- Jax, is it? Well, unless you gave A.J. half your assets.

Courtney: A.J. did that sort of thing. I'm hardly the only enemy he ever made.

Rachel: You had opportunity. A layover in Miami, where you could have easily hired a charter, take you back to the Bahamas, stab A.J., and make it back in time to catch a flight to Port Charles.

Courtney: Which is what you obviously did.

Rachel: No comment.

Courtney: There's a major flaw in your plan. There's no evidence against me.

Rachel: Well, except for your fingerprints on the murder weapon. You left clear prints on your champagne glass in first class. They transferred nicely. With proof like this, you could easily be convicted.

Courtney: Bitch.

Rachel: Don't make this complicated.

Courtney: Ok. All right, look, how much money do you want?

Rachel: Did I say anything about money?

Courtney: Then what?

Rachel: An even trade. I killed someone for you. I expect you to do the same thing for me.

Sam: Maybe the kidnappers left because they know they dropped the piece of paper with the address on it, which means they haven't had time to go too far.

Jason: The cops are only going to make things worse.

Sam: Jason, this place could have clues that could clear our name or point us in the direction that Kristina’s being held.

Jason: Well, we'll look around, see what we can find.

Sam: But the police have equipment to analyze the evidence. We don't.

Jason: Sam, if the kidnappers think the cops are after them, they could hurt Kristina. We can't take that chance.

Sam: We're going to have to do something, Jason.

Jason: Let's look around the building.

Sam: We can at least tell Sonny, right? I mean, we can trust him at this point, don't you think?

Jason: Ugh. Ugh.

Sam: Jason? Oh, my God.

Alexis: Is there any news on Kristina?

Ric: No, no, not yet. And no sign of Sam. Is that why you wanted Tony to leave?

Alexis: That's part of it.

Ric: And the other part? Nothing came out wrong in the tests did it?

Alexis: I'm concerned about my child.

Sonny: The more I think about it, the more I think Agent Marshall is right. This is about getting me.

Carly: Well, unless it's just a straight ransom demand.

Sonny: If it were, then they would have taken the easy route and grabbed Kristina when she was with Alexis. Instead they waited, violated my home, and sent me that picture of Kristina.

Carly: All right, so what do you think they want?

Sonny: I don't know, but I'm going to go to that meeting alone. No cops, no feds.

Carly: Ok, well, you let Max follow you. He knows how to stay out of sight.

Sonny: No, it's too risky.

Carly: Sonny --

Sonny: If they suspect that I’m bringing somebody, it could get Kristina killed.

Carly: I don't like this. I really don't. Because if this is about revenge, then you know what --

Sonny: This is between me -- this is between me and whoever took my daughter.

Reese: What is? Have you heard from the kidnapper?

Courtney: You want me to kill someone?

Rachel: Well, that, or go to jail for the murder of a man who deliberately tried to ruin your life.

Courtney: This is insane.

Rachel: I like to think of it as a brilliant twist of fate. We sit next to each other on an airplane. You confide that you wish your ex-husband were dead. Meanwhile, I’ve been wishing a certain man I know is dead, too. It's perfect symmetry. This is an opportunity that we can't pass up.

Courtney: We? We? I'm sorry, I don't remember having a say in this.

Rachel: A.J. Quartermaine was ruining your life. You should be grateful.

Courtney: I did not want him killed.

Rachel: You loved him. Love can turn to hate. I know how it feels. I once gave a man my heart. There was very little I wouldn't have done for him. Sadly, he didn't reciprocate, and he deserves to die. No, I can't do it. I would have to pay for that, and my life would be destroyed all over again, and once was enough. This is where you come in.

Courtney: No.

Rachel: You will get rid of my biggest regret while I create a solid alibi. You see how this works? It's two perfect crimes because the real killers -- we have no discernable motive to want the victims dead.

Courtney: I can’t.

Rachel: Sure, you can. You are a very capable woman.

Courtney: Look, I am not capable of murder.

Rachel: We'll devise a foolproof plan. It's not as if you have to go sneak up on some stranger.

Courtney: What do you mean?

Rachel: It's someone you know. It's a doctor at General Hospital by the name of Steven Webber.

Nurse: That gunshot wound is coming up from E.R.

Steven: Ok, thanks. Nurse, these two are fugitives. I want you to call the police.

Nurse: Status post gunshot wound. He's running a high fever, possible sepsis.

Steven: Ok, great. Take him to the first room down the east corridor, and I’m not letting you wander around --

Sam: No, no, no! Leave me alone! I have to be with Jason!

Ric: I'll handle it -- I'll handle it from here!

Sam: Stop it! Ric, Ric --

Ric: Go. So, who found you and picked you up?

Sam: Jason collapsed, so I called an ambulance. If I hadn't, we would be on the trail of the real kidnapper by now.

Sonny: I was just saying I think you're right, you know? I mean, whoever took my daughter wants to make this personal. They want to make this between them and me.

Reese: We may be getting closer.

Sonny: What do you got?

Reese: I tracked down Justus Ward. I asked him about Faith.

Sonny: Does he know where she is?

Reese: He claims he hasn't heard from her since she left the country, but he's reticent to talk about her.

Sonny: Well, you know what? Justus has lied to protect Faith before, so --

Reese: Well, I put Justus on surveillance, so we'll see what happens.

Carly: Sonny, I should be going, you know, and seeing that it's almost near midnight, I thought that since the guards are with the kids, maybe you could take me home?

[Phone rings]

Reese: Hello? I'll be right there. We've got Jason and Sam.

Skye: Thought I'd find you here.

Luke: Keep on walking, woman.

Skye: And the booze -- does that help you think?

Luke: You bet it does. But I don't want to offend your precious A.A. sensibility, so if you don't mind, I'd like to be left alone, thank you very much.

Lesley Lu: Dad!

Lesley: Well, what a coincidence. Lulu was just asking about Lucky, and I think that you should be the one to tell her how he is.

Luke: Ok.

Sam: Someone came into Rollo’s apartment while Jason was unconscious, and he regained consciousness long enough to see that it was a woman. Whoever she was, she dropped a slip of paper with an address on it.

Ric: Oh, let me guess. You and Jason decided to follow up on that lead yourself, right?

Sam: It was an office space not far from Sonny's new house, but it looked like it had been recently cleaned out.

Ric: It was empty?

Sam: Kristina's bear was in it.

Ric: Oh, you know --

Sam: I am telling the truth, Ric. I swear I am telling the truth.

Ric: Look, I'm inclined to believe you, but I need proof.

Sam: Here, here. Here's proof. Check out the address for yourself.

Ric: All right. I'll have forensics comb over the place for evidence. Might be the only chance for you and Jason to clear your names and for us to find Kristina.

Sam: I didn't take her, Ric. I would never put anyone through the hell of losing a child.

Ric: Yeah, well, Alexis isn't convinced.

Sam: Is she ok? Really, I didn't mean to leave her in the stairwell like that, but I knew Brook Lynn was there and --

Ric: Brook Lynn told me what happened and, yes, Alexis is all right.

Dr. Meadows: We'll need to set up a schedule of visits. You had some difficulties with your first pregnancy, and you're considered high-risk.

Alexis: I know.

Dr. Meadows: Have you told your husband he's going to be a father?

Alexis: Dr. Meadows, my daughter is missing.

Dr. Meadows: Yes, I know. I saw your plea on television. I am very sorry.

Alexis: I feel very certain that whoever has her isn't doing anything to hurt her, and I also feel very certain that we're going to get her back.

Dr. Meadows: I'll say a prayer for her.

Alexis: Thank you.

Dr. Meadows: You know, every child is a blessing, Alexis. Kristina and this new baby, too.

Alexis: I would like to feel joyful right now. I just can't do it.

Carly: Oh, Jason, thank God you're all right.

Sonny: Hey, Sam and Ric filled us in.

Jason: Where -- where is Sam?

Sonny: She's with Agent Marshall. But don't worry about it, she's not getting arrested. They're sending a forensics team over to the place on Welton.

Carly: Yeah, Sam said that they thought the kidnapper might have been at Rollo’s?

Jason: Yeah, I think it was a woman.

Carly: Could it have been Faith?

Jason: Maybe. You know, I was -- I was pretty out of it. I never saw her face.

Sonny: Listen, they sent me a photo of Kristina with a demand to meet them at midnight.

Jason: I'll -- I'll come with you.

Sonny: No, what are you talking about? You got to heal. I mean --

Jason: Sonny, it could be a trap.

Sonny: The kidnappers told me to come alone, and that's what I’m going to do.

Ric: Excuse me. Could I see you for a minute outside? Something you want to tell me?

Sonny: No. What are you talking about?

Ric: Oh, ok. Then you don't mind if I just show up tonight in the park with about 20 officers, say, around midnight?

Sonny: The kidnappers told me to come to the park alone.

Ric: Kidnappers say that because they don't want to get caught, Sonny.

Sonny: If we don't follow instructions, it could get Kristina killed, Ric.

Ric: Kidnappers make a direct threat?

Sonny: I got a bad feeling about this.

Ric: Sonny, she's my stepdaughter. She is my niece. Now, I want to see whoever took her put behind bars. I can't go on some sort of feeling that you've got.

Sonny: I'm only doing what I was told to do. If -- if I don't, the kidnappers could panic, right, cover their tracks, and get rid of Kristina. Do you want that on your conscience, Ric?

Ric: All right, what if the kidnapper decides to change their mind? What if you're wrong? Then you're going to be placing Kristina’s safety at risk.

Sonny: I'm telling you what I got to do to keep Kristina alive.

Ric: Oh, Sonny --

Sonny: You're going to have to trust me! The kidnappers told me to come to the park alone, meet them at the gazebo at midnight. Now, you're going to have to give me your word that the cops are going to stay out of it.

Ric: All right.

Luke: Lucky's kind of sleeping.

Lesley Lu: It's been a long time.

Luke: Yeah, I -- I know. You know how bears hibernate for the whole winter? Well, that's sort of what your brother is doing.

Lesley Lu: Bears wake up in the spring. Is Lucky going to do that, too?

Luke: Maybe. We have to wait and see. Ok?

Lesley Lu: Ok.

Luke: And in the meanwhile, we'll just have to be patient. Do you think you can do that for me?

Lesley Lu: Sure.

Lesley: She's been a very patient little girl. She's been waiting for her dad to take her to see Lucky.

Lesley Lu: Will you?

Luke: Well, sure. If that's what you want, I'll take you.

Lesley Lu: Thanks, Daddy.

Lesley: We appreciate that. It gives her something to look forward to.

Luke: Ok. I'll call you, Les.

Lesley: Do that. Ok, sweetie pie, we're going to go attack that hill now. Goodbye.

Luke: Bye. Bye!

Skye: Why did you say that?

Luke: Say what?

Skye: That Lucky was sleeping, and that he might wake up? If you really believe that --

Luke: I don’t.

Skye: So you just lied to your daughter?

Luke: You bet I lied to her. I sugarcoated the truth because she's a little girl. She shouldn't have to face what's happening. Why should she? She couldn't even understand it. But you and me, Skye -- we're adults. We don't have the luxury of believing in magic and miracles and -- like he's going to wake up if you sprinkle some pixie dust over him or put him on your Santa Claus wish list. I -- I am just trying to do my job, which is to accept what the doctors tell me, no matter how much I want it to be otherwise.  I'm just trying to give my son the choice, let him choose life or death. I don't like the responsibility. Hell, I don't even like to think about it. But I have to because I'm his father and there's nobody else.

Skye: And the booze -- does that help you think?

Luke: Oh, yeah, it sure does. It helps me think and cope and deaden the pain. It's kind of interesting how easily that word just tumbles out, isn't it? "Deaden." "Dead." "No longer alive."

Skye: You may be ready to give up on Lucky, but I’m not ready to give up on you.

Rachel: Steven Webber. You know him?

Courtney: He -- he saved my nephew's life. He's a respected doctor who works with the police. I mean, he's dating my best friend.

Rachel: So you like him?

Courtney: Well, yeah. I don't really know him, but --

Rachel: Well, you'll get to know him better. People will see you guys around. They'll see that you guys are friends. You will be completely above suspicion when his body is found.

Courtney: I am not going to kill him.

Rachel: I understand that this idea is going to take some getting used to. I am in no rush.

Courtney: What makes you think I won't tell Steven?

Rachel: I've killed once. I could do it again.

[Knock on door]

Jax: I'm sorry. I didn't realize you'd have company so late.

Courtney: Jax, this is --

Rachel: Rachel Adair. I am an old friend of Courtney’s from Atlantic City. I take it she hasn't mentioned me?

Jax: Not that I recall.

Rachel: Those were her wilder days.

Jax: Oh.

Rachel: Ok, well, I'm sorry for stopping by so late. I will let you be alone with your gorgeous fiancé.

Jax: I don't mean to rush you off.

Rachel: Oh, no, we will have plenty of time to catch up. I'm a doctor and I’m applying for a position over at General Hospital. So, Courtney, I will call you tomorrow, and we can make plans.

Luke: You got quite an arm on you. You ought to pitch for the Boston Red Sox.

Skye: You know, you keep comparing Lucky to his mother, but it's not Lucky and Laura who are lost, Luke, it's you. Instead of fighting for Lucky --

Luke: I am fighting for Lucky! I'm fighting to give him the choice whether to live or die. It's his decision, not mine. Not the doctors, the machines, or some bearded old man in the sky. It's his decision whether to leave a useless body or to stay and fight.

Skye: Lucky is not the one in pain, Luke. You are. So your answer is just to make it all stop because you can't handle the uncertainty. You can't handle the agony of waiting, so you think it'll just be easier if Lucky is gone. But I'm telling you you're wrong. You love him, Luke, and if you allow him to die, it is just not Lucky's life that you're ending. You'll be destroying yourself.

Luke: You think that I’m such a coward I would kill my son to avoid pain? You don't know me at all, do you?

Sam: Yeah, you probably want to spend some time with him. I'll -- I'll go to the cafeteria.

Carly: Stay, stay. It's ok. Jason, he -- he needs you.

Sam: Thank you. I'm just really worried about him, you know? I'm just really glad that he's finally getting a chance to relax, rest.

Carly: Yeah. I owe you an apology. I usually don't apologize often because I'm not wrong. But I was wrong about you in this case. Jason believed in you when I thought that you took Kristina. But his instincts were right, and I should've trusted him.

Sam: Just -- I really hope and pray that she is found.

Carly: Yeah, we all do. I just want to say thank you for bringing him here because I know you took a risk that they could've arrested you. But you took care of him, and I really, really appreciate that.

Sam: Carly, I love Jason more than I ever, ever thought possible. I would do absolutely, absolutely anything for him.

Alexis: Thank you for coming. Is there any news?

Reese: We found the place where the kidnapper was keeping Kristina, but they've moved on.

Alexis: I understand that Jason has been brought in here. Do you have Sam in custody?

Reese: Not yet. But there's a possibility someone else took Kristina, someone who felt they were close to discovery and ran.

Alexis: Do you think they did that because they think you're closing in on them?

Reese: Which is frequently when kidnappers begin to trip themselves up. We can only hope that Jason and Sam are telling us everything they know. If not, that window could close and the kidnapper could elude us.

Alexis: You're not going to do anything?

Reese: Without more to go on, there's nothing else we can do.

Alexis: Wait.

Rachel: Hello, Steven. Remember me?

Steven: Rachel. Wow. What are you doing here?

Rachel: You look great. I mean, you look the same -- same curly hair, same little boyish twinkle in your eye.

Steven: You look good, too.

Rachel: Thank you. And to answer your question, I am here because I wanted to know if I could ask you a favor.

Jason: Where's Sonny?

Carly: Well, he went to the park. It's almost midnight.

Jason: Oh, Carly, I got to go. I got to go.

Carly: No, no, no, Sonny's doing this alone.

Jason: Of course he's doing it alone. You know why, don't you?

Carly: Oh, God, Jason. He's going to trade himself for his daughter.

Reese: I have Corinthos in sight. Spread out. He'll meet the kidnapper at midnight.

Ric: Sorry I took so long.

Alexis: Is there anything new to report?

Ric: Well, it appears that Sam and Jason were telling the truth and the kidnapper is still out there. Sonny was contacted. We should know more information soon.

Alexis: Ok.

Ric: You seem calmer.

Alexis: I don't want to jinx this, but I have a feeling -- I have a good feeling we're going to get her back.

Ric: Well, I'm glad you're so optimistic. I just -- I wish I had better news to report. I just don't know what's going to happen when Sonny goes --

Alexis: Ric? We're -- we're having a baby.

Luke: I'm back. Did you miss me? I saw your sister in the park. She needed answers so I told her you were asleep. Skye thinks that means that I believe you're not gone. But then Skye believes I have the power to wake you up. She believes that love is that powerful. What about you? Do you believe in love? Do you believe that love is strong enough to overcome this? Because if you do, then you should be able to hear me and feel me and know that I'm here. Because I love you, cowboy. Skye thinks I should keep talking to you, that I should play you some music. That's worth a try. Shall I go get my old record collection? What would you like to hear? Do I have any requests? Blues? Classic Motown? The Temptations were always your favorite. Wait a minute. What about that old standard that we used to sing together? You know, the song that was good for whatever ailed us. All through your childhood when we were on the run, we'd sing that song around campfires, in the back of buses, airport terminals waiting for planes. You remember it. “Oh, give me land lots of land under starry skies above.” Come on, you know the next line. “Don't fence me in let me ride through the wide-open country that I love don't fence me in.” I really need your help here, cowboy. You know, your old man can't carry a tune in a bucket. “Let me sit by myself in the evening breeze listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences don't fence me in.” Come on, cowboy. Get back up on that horse and ride on home to me. “Oh, give me land lots of land under starry skies above don't fence me in let me ride through the wide-open spaces that I love don't fence me in let me sit by myself in the evening breeze listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees send me off forever but I ask you please please. Please. Please.” Please. Don't fence me in

Courtney: I just came home and Rachel was here.

Jax: She said she's an old friend?

Courtney: Not exactly.

Jax: Acquaintance? She say something to upset you? Hmm?

Courtney: We were just talking about A.J.'S murder and I just --

Jax: Oh, no wonder. Well, listen, you don't have to worry. I spoke to an attorney, and as it stands right now, there's nothing but circumstantial evidence against you.

Courtney: Jax, I’m the only suspect.

Jax: Well, I'm sure A.J. made a lot of enemies since he's left Port Charles. Now, suspicion will move off of you quickly. The police don't even have a murder weapon.

Courtney: Still, it's just -- it's just a little unsettling, you know?

Jax: Let's just enjoy the evening, ok? We have a wedding to plan and a future to look forward to. Now there's nothing standing in our way.

Rachel: So I changed specialties. I'm now in pediatrics.

Steven: Excellent. What happened --?

Rachel: What happened is in the past. I got to start all over in an area of medicine that really motivates me, and it rewards me.

Steven: Good. Good. So where are you practicing?

Rachel: Actually, I'm applying for a position here.

Steven: Really? Did you know I was here?

Rachel: No, not until I showed up and looked at the hospital. That's a coincidence, isn't it?

Steven: Yeah. Yeah, that's a coincidence, all right.

Rachel: Well, I was hoping that you could put a good word in for me with the hospital board.

Steven: Sure. Anything.

Rachel: Thank you, Steven. I knew I could count on you.

Steven: Rachel --

Rachel: Steven --

Steven: Rachel, come on. So --

Rachel: Really, it's in the past. Let bygones be bygones. Ok? We'll go out for a drink sometime. We'll laugh about it.

Steven: Oh, yeah?

Rachel: Ok?

Steven: Ok.

Rachel: Bye.

Steven: Bye, Rachel.

Carly: Excuse -- excuse me.

Steven: Oh, jeez!

Carly: It's --

Steven: I'm sorry.

Carly: It's no problem.

Steven: I'm -- Carly --

Carly: What?

Steven: Can I -- never mind.

Carly: Are you ok?

Steven: I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?

Sam: Close your eyes.

Jason: I can’t. Just can't stop looking at you.

Man: I'm looking at Morgan right now. Sonny didn't bring his enforcer. He didn't bring anybody.

Faith: He's following instructions. This should go exactly as planned.

Ric: I -- I -- are you -- I know, I know. Alexis, listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me. Kristina is -- Kristina’s going to come home safe and sound. All right? And you and me and Kristina and this baby -- all four of us are going to be a family.

 [Phone rings]

Sonny: Yeah?

Faith: I told you to come alone.

Sonny: I did.

Faith: Liar. The park is crawling with cops.

Sonny: Where's Kristina?

Faith: Too late.

Sonny: I'll give you anything. Take -- take me instead.

Faith: You'll never see your daughter again.

Sonny: Take me instead!

[Click]

Sonny: Don't hang up!

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Dr. Meadows: I'm glad you're here.

Alexis: Why?

Dr. Meadows: There's something wrong with the pregnancy.

Sonny: Somebody tipped off the cops. She said I’ll never see my daughter again.

John: You blew it last night.

Rachel: So, were you planning on stabbing Steven, or did you want to shoot him?
