General Hospital Transcript Thursday 8/19/04

Proofread by BrianMac: Put out an A.P.B. on Faith Rosco, considered armed and dangerous. Send officers to the airport, bus, and train stations. And set up roadblocks -- what are you doing?
Ric: Saving the taxpayer dollars.
Mac: Ric, I'm tracking an escaped --
Ric: Mac, listen to me. The police don't need to do anything. Faith Rosco has some very powerful, some very deadly enemies. She doesn't have a prayer of getting out of town alive.
Faith: Justus, help me.
Justus: What?
Faith: Help me! Hide me!
Justus: I told you not to run!
Faith: Justus, I wanted to give you the chance to be my hero. But if you're not going to help me voluntarily, you're just going to have to be my hostage. You're getting me out of Port Charles tonight.
Justus: Shoot me.
Jax: Oh, Courtney.
Courtney: I don't want to talk or think.
Jax: We can't do this.
Jason: You sent Courtney to the penthouse to help with Morgan knowing I'd be there and I could handle it myself. That wasn't fair.
Carly: I'm sorry. Do you think you could be mad at me later? I need your help. I want to find my father.
Sonny: What's the matter?
Sam: I just -- I can't do this, Sonny. Take him. Thank you.
Lucky: Ok, then tell her to leave.
Nikolas: I tried, Lucky.
Emily: I'm staying. And the more you fight about it, the bigger the risk that Helena will find out --
Lucky: Ok, the deal was that you'd stay for 24 hours.
Nikolas: Lucky's right, ok? I'm fine. I know how to deal with Helena.
Emily: No, you already agreed.
Nikolas: Emily, you are a distraction. If Helena finds you here, she'll use you against me somehow. And if nothing else, she'll see right through my plan, and I'll lose whatever advantage that I have.
Lucky: We're just trying to do what's best for you, Em.
Emily: All right. I'll go. But I hate it.
Nikolas: I know. I do, too.
Helena: You have no place here.
Lucky: My brother is in this mental hospital because of you, and I'm not leaving until he's released.
Helena: Your brother is quite comfortable here and mercifully isolated from you.
Lucky: You are a sadistic witch, you know that?
Helena: Oh, go ahead, Lucky. Give me a reason to tie you up in a straitjacket, just like your mother.
Lucky: Don't ever talk about my mother.
Helena: Well, it's true she is negligible now that Nikolas has come into his own. There isn't a trace of Laura’s influence left in Nikolas' heart or mind. He's a Cassadine now. Your brother belongs to me.
Mac: She is a resourceful woman.
Ric: Instead of wasting manpower on a search for Faith, why don't you just put a tail on Sonny and Jason, and then you can arrest them when they try to kill her.
Mac: You know, unfortunately for you and your vendetta against Sonny, this is not the 16th century. I do not set up suspects to be murdered.
Ric: I'm not setting anybody up here, Mac. I'm merely suggesting that you take a step back and let the events unfold.
Mac: No chance. I'm bringing Faith in alive.
Ric: That is, unless somebody else finds her first.
Faith: Letting you go isn't an option.
Justus: Then pull the trigger. Oh, it'll make noise, all right, and attract attention you don't want.
Faith: What have I got to lose?
Justus: You're right. You have nothing except your last friend in the world.
Faith: Just one night, Justus. Just give me one night before you call the cops.
Justus: Why should I?
Faith: For old times' sake. God, you said you owe me, so help me get away! Ok, one night's too long? Three hours. Two hours! What? Just a head start!
Justus: You know what? I have a better idea. Why don't you come with me to the station and turn yourself in?
Faith: You know I can't do that.
Justus: I am representing you, Faith. I'm on your side.
Faith: We've been through this before. There is no way I will be acquitted, and Sonny will have me killed in prison. So you are going to let me go. Ok, I will disappear before Sonny and the cops --
[Footsteps]
Alexis: A simple resignation would be a lot simpler and more effective than risking your own life.
Justus: What makes you think I am?
Alexis: You're representing Faith Rosco. To Sonny, that's a capital offense. Why didn't you just quit as his attorney, rather than siding with his mortal enemy?
Sam: How did you do that?
Sonny: I put him in his crib and I just pulled the blanket up --
Sam: No, no, no, don't -- don't do that thing right there like it was so easy. Sonny, I did everything. I talked to him, I sang to him, I rocked him; I bounced him on my knee. I -- I danced with him. I gave him his bottle, his pacifier, his rattle. All he did was cry.
Sonny: He was sleepy.
Sam: Oh, please. When Jason was there he was fine, but the minute -- no, no, the instant Jason left, he fell apart.
Sonny: He gets cranky at bedtime.
Sam: He was afraid for his life, Sonny. He saw right through me.
Sonny: Sam, he's a baby. He's too young to --
Sam: No, let's face it. I am hopelessly unfit to raise a child.
Jason: But there's no way to know who your father is.
Carly: Well, mama insists that it was just one of her Johns. Jason, I can always tell when she's lying. She knows something. She's just not telling me. But fortunately -- look, she wrote it down.
Jason: This is Bobbie’s diary.
Carly: Yeah, I borrowed it. It's for a good cause.
Jason: Carly, this isn't --
Carly: I found a clue in there. Jason, listen to me. Just -- I want you to read it. Something popped out, and I want to see if you notice it, too. Because if you do, that's a place where we can start.
Courtney: You're right. I hate when that happens.
Jax: Well, you should be used to it by now.
Courtney: Oh, but you were only right about my grief. All the rest of that stuff -- it's -- it's just fantasy.
Jax: The rest?
Courtney: Mm-hmm. Yeah, the rest. "When" we sleep together, Jax? I hate to break it to you, but -- ahem -- it's never going to happen.
Jax: Oh, no, we'd be doing it right now if I hadn't stopped you.
Courtney: Nope, sorry, that was your one chance, and you missed it.
Jax: I don't think so because, you see, you're very, very attracted to me.
Courtney: Oh, is that so?
Jax: Yes, I predict that you'll be throwing yourself at me by the end of the week.
Courtney: Ok, yeah. Keep that up, Jax, really, because your arrogance just makes it easy just to resist you.
Jax: Oh, you know, admit it! Your conscious mind is telling you no, and your subconscious mind is saying, "Yes, Jax, please, take me!"
Courtney: Wait --
Jax: "Take me!"
Courtney: Since when do you have a psychology degree, mister, huh?
Jax: You're the one that has dreams about me.
Courtney: No, actually, those -- those were dreams about shoes.
Jax: No, they weren't about shoes.
Courtney: Uh-huh.
Jax: I think you're about a breath away from being erotically obsessed with me.
Courtney: Oh --
Jax: Oh! Hey, hey, hey -- stop!
Courtney: You deserved that. You did.
Jax: Yeah -- come here.
Courtney: Oh! Oh! Stop! Get off me!
Jax: Not until you admit that you have erotic fantasies about me.
Courtney: Never! Never!
Jax: No, wrong answer!
Courtney: I'm not going to lie!
Jax: I'm not asking you to lie. Come on.
Courtney: Ok, I admit! Yes, yes, I want you so bad! Yes! Oh. Hi. Ahem.
Emily: I can't leave him.
Lucky: Well, it's getting too dangerous. Helena was just here.
Emily: Which is why I can't go.
Lucky: Emily --
Emily: Nikolas -- Nikolas is stronger, but he still needs someone to watch his back.
Lucky: Helena is a psychopath murderess! If anything happens to you, it's going to -- it's going to destroy Nikolas.
Lois: No, you know, don't say a word because I can't hear you, I can't see you. I'm not here, so just go back to doing whatever you were doing. I'm a figment of your imagination.
Jax: You know, Lois might have bad timing, but she knows how to make an exit.
Courtney: Well, she probably thinks we're having a torrid love affair.
Jax: Right. The problem with that would be?
Courtney: Uh-uh.
Carly: I have a right to search for my father.
Jason: Ok, just tell me what you found.
Carly: My mom was not just turning tricks. She got romantically involved with a boy her own age. She was in love, Jason, a teenager in love, and she writes about this guy with the initials J.D. all over this diary.
Jason: That doesn't mean that this guy is your father.
Carly: I can find him, Jason. I just need some help.
Jason: Carly, I think that you're setting yourself up to get hurt.
Carly: Ok, I might be, and I will take that chance. I have a right to know the genetic heritage that I've passed on to my sons.
Jason: Well, you're talking to the wrong person. You should take that up with Bobbie.
Carly: I already did. She refused to help me.
Jason: Well, maybe that should tell you something.
Carly: Jason, if I find this guy in here with the initials J.D., I will have a name and I will have a face. I will -- I will have a medical history, a paternal family tree.
Jason: Yeah, ok, if -- if you find this guy, you're going to have a pile of facts about the man who got your mom pregnant. But you're still not going to have a father. A father is a man who sticks around to raise his daughter.
Carly: Bobbie did not stick around to raise me, and she loves me just the same.
Jason: Ok.
Carly: Who knows, Jason? Maybe this guy will, too.
Jason: Do you hear yourself? You're already starting to make things up about a father you might not ever find. Please, Carly, don't do this to yourself. Just let it go.
Sam: Look, I'm reading baby books, I ordered a bunch of DVDs, I'm following all the information the pediatrician gave me, and I am still a disaster.
Sonny: Where's this coming from, Sam?
Sam: Did you see the way I was holding him, Sonny? I felt like I was going to drop him at any time or squeeze him too tight or tilt his head wrong or --
Sonny: When you were a kid, did you babysit?
Sam: You are kidding, aren't you?
Sonny: Oh, so this is the first baby you've ever taken care of?
Sam: Yeah, quite obviously.
Sonny: Well, you got to give yourself a break, you know?
Sam: Sonny, I never had a pet. A houseplant, yeah. Died in a week.
Sonny: You took care of your brother. You saved him, you loved him, you helped him get well.
Sam: That's different.
Sonny: He wouldn't be where he's at if it wasn't for you.
Sam: That's different.
Sonny: No, it's not different.
Sam: Yeah.
Sonny: Look, it shows what kind of person you are; what kind of mother that you'll be. Strong, loyal, protective. When you love someone, you love them with all your heart. I have no doubt that when you see our newborn child; you are going to love her more than anything you've ever loved in your life. You are going to be great as a mother for our daughter.
Alexis: Then you obviously have a death wish. Sonny's been known to dispense of his enemies without a flicker of remorse. Why would you put yourself in that position?
Justus: You survived the wrath of Sonny. Why shouldn't I?
Alexis: Sonny and I have a complicated history. You don't have the safeguard of that personal connection, so I'm advising you not to antagonize him.
Justus: Faith asked me to help her, and I agreed to provide it. I'm not dropping this case because Sonny doesn't approve.
Alexis: I'm sorry; I didn't know that your connection with Faith was personal. Good luck, Justus. You're going to need it.
Faith: Is Alexis right? You care about me, just a little?
Justus: I don't want you to go to prison, that's all.
Faith: Then make sure I go free.
Justus: I'm trying.
Faith: I trust you, Justus. If you think you can win this case, I'll turn myself in. But if you don't truly believe that you can get me acquitted, then I need you to be honest about it, and you have to help me escape.
Nikolas: You were supposed to leave. What are you doing?
Emily: From now on I follow my heart, and it's telling me never to leave you again.
Nikolas: Well, you can't be here.
Emily: I didn't say goodbye before, and I won't now. Don't send me away.
Nikolas: You know I can’t. The more I see you, the more connected I feel to you.
Emily: We've had too many goodbyes. I couldn't bear to have another.
Nikolas: Well, that's why we need to be more careful. Helena thinks her manipulations are working, and -- and like you said, she's always wanted to turn me into the man my father was, and now she believes she's succeeded. But if she sees us together, that's it. Our cover's blown, so you have to stay -- you have to stay out of sight. She will try and hurt you if she finds out you're here.
Emily: You're the one I'm concerned about.
Nikolas: Don't worry about me, ok? I can handle my grandmother.
Emily: I love you so much. I just wish my love could wrap you up and protect you.
Nikolas: It does. Ok? Thinking about you is what's given me the strength to fight this. I'll keep fighting. I'll never give in to her.
Emily: Don't underestimate Helena. Your grandmother is determined to control you.
Nikolas: But she doesn't know I know that, which puts me one step ahead.
Emily: She owns the doctor and most of the staff. She won't stop until she's succeeded.
Nikolas: Or -- or until she thinks she has.
Emily: Just be careful, please.
Nikolas: She thinks I'm drugged and helpless right now, ok? Look, Helena and her orderlies will be in for a hell of an unpleasant surprise if they try to overpower me or hurt you, ok?
Emily: All right. We shouldn't be out in the open like this.
Nikolas: I'll go back to my room. I'll meet you there in 30 minutes, ok?
Emily: Ok.
Helena: Not yet. Let the lovers dream a little longer before their fantasy is shattered.
Alexis: I came to give you notice of Skye’s impending appeal.
Ric: Oh, I see. It couldn't wait till morning?
Alexis: I'm busy tomorrow.
Ric: Of course.
Alexis: I'm doing you a favor, Ric, in the interest of streamlining the appeals process.
Ric: No, I know how you work. You know, you're going to present all this meaning trivia at the trial and then you're going to label it as reversible error.
Alexis: Your smugness is singularly unappealing.
Ric: You know what? It's called confidence. And if you are honest with yourself for just one second, you'd realize that you find it quite attractive.
Alexis: In people that aren't delusional? Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.
Mike: Well, the lucky lady is my daughter, and I'm heading over to Courtney’s tonight right now with all of her favorites.
Lois: Is she expecting you?
Mike: No, no, but she's been feeling a little blue, so I thought I'd cheer her up.
Lois: Yeah, not tonight.
Mike: Well, I've got the night off and the basket is --
Lois: Yeah, but you know what? I checked in on her already, and she is feeling better.
Mike: Well, good, good. Then we'll have dinner; take in a movie, maybe a walk.
Lois: No, but you know what? She's already having dinner. Well, I mean, she's about to have dinner.
Mike: Alone?
Lois: Not exactly, no.
Mike: Jax?
Lois: Maybe.
Mike: So Jax is with her, isn't he?
Lois: Yes, he's with her. They're enjoying each other's company and they don't want to be disturbed.
Mike: So in other words, Jax is in bed with my daughter even as we speak?
Jax: Well, don't try. Just take me as I am.
Courtney: Well, see, that's -- that's the problem, Jax. I mean, what are you, the considerate, noble man who's sensitive to my feelings? Or are you the self-satisfied egomaniac who thinks he's God's gift to womankind? Hmm?
Jax: Well, there's only one way to find out.
Courtney: Really?
Jax: Mm-hmm. Yes.
Sam: Ok, what was the matter?
Sonny: Well, he -- he needed to be burped. I knew that. I just forgot. So he kept crying, and I started to panic a little bit, right?
Sam: Right. And, what, until he fell asleep?
Sonny: Well, until he -- yeah, until he burped himself on his own, you know? And then I remembered -- I said, you know, "I got to put him over my shoulder and I got to just pat him on the back."
Sam: Well, you're not going to forget to do that again, I'm sure.
Sonny: No, I'm not. So --
Sam: You know, you are so at ease with your boys. I just can't imagine you panicking over anything.
Sonny: Yeah, but, see, you don't understand. I didn't -- I didn't live with Michael until he was a toddler, so this -- you know, taking care of a baby day to day is new to me, too.
Sam: You caught on fast, Sonny.
Sonny: If you ever need any help with the baby -- you what I'm saying? -- I'm right here. Don't worry about it, I'll be there. Ok?
Sam: It's just that this feels so crazy. I just -- I never dreamed of having a home life. I didn't expect any of this -- being pregnant with your daughter, looking forward to motherhood. And yet, here I am. This is my life, and it's good. It's good. It's better than good.
Sonny: What's wrong?
Sam: She just kicked.
Sonny: No!
Sam: Yeah. Here, feel it.
Sonny: Really?
Sam: There.
Sonny: Ok. Hey -- hey, little girl. You hear your daddy's voice? You probably don't recognize me right now, but you know what? When you come out, you will. Wait, I think she's talk-- oh! Because I'm going to hold you real close, and I'm going to love you for the rest of your life. What do you think of that?
Carly: Yeah, yeah. I -- I wanted you to take a look at something. I had this faxed from Florida.
Bobbie: It's your birth certificate.
Carly: Yeah, I thought it might help jog your memory. I mean, where were you? Where were you when you had your first labor pain?
Bobbie: Carly, come on. That was so long ago.
Carly: I know, but was anyone with you? I mean, did you go to the hospital by yourself?
Bobbie: Will you stop? Stop! I told you! I don't want to think about it!
Carly: Mama, I -- I am not trying to hurt you. I'm not. I just -- I can't let this go, ok? If you have any information about my father, I really need you to tell me.
Bobbie: Look, honey, you could have been fathered by any number of men. Some of them were regular customers. Some of them I'd never seen before and never saw again. I am sorry, but I have no information for you.
Carly: Ok.
Bobbie: Ok?
Carly: Mm-hmm.
Bobbie: Listen, I have to get back to my shift. You all right?
Carly: Yeah, sure.
Bobbie: All right. Honey, I'm sorry.
Carly: Mm-hmm.
Bobbie: I'm sorry.
Carly: No, it's fine.
Bobbie: Ok.
Jason: Look, I don't -- I don't mean to interrupt, but I got to talk to Sonny about business.
Sam: Ok. I'm going to go to Kelly’s for dinner if you want to join me. Whatever.
Jason: Yeah, I'll meet you there.
Sam: Ok. Thank you.
Sonny: Any time.
Jason: Hey, just, you know, be careful with Sam.
Sonny: What does that mean?
Jason: Well, just -- look, she knows that you guys will never be together again.
Sonny: Yeah.
Jason: But obviously, you know, she's in love with you still.
Sonny: She made peace with the situation. She's -- you know, she's looking forward to being a mother. She's happy.
Jason: Good, I hope so, for her sake.
Sonny: Was that the business you wanted to talk to me about?
Jason: No, no. Faith escaped from the hospital.
Sonny: Good.
Faith: Well, doesn't the cook come down here?
Justus: No. Neither does anyone else. The servants disconnected this freezer after Ross Duncan’s body was stored here.
Faith: Ooh, sound superstitious.
Justus: Something like that.
Faith: Can't imagine why.
Justus: You'll be fine, Faith. Just don't close the door.
Faith: What's the difference between a rack of lamb, the late Detective Duncan, and me?
Justus: Do I really want to know?
Faith: Nothing. There is no difference. We're all dead meat.
Justus: I'm going to get you out of this, Faith. I swear it, I won't let you die.
Alexis: It was a marriage of convenience.
Ric: And you're still friends?
Alexis: Because we never slept together.
Ric: Oh.
Alexis: There was no romance to muddy the waters, not that that's any of your business.
Ric: Yet, you seem quite intent on letting me know. Why is that, Alexis? Do you have any idea?
Lois: No, that is the last thing you're going to do!
Mike: Jax is slime.
Lois: He is a decent, thoughtful person who happens to care a great deal about Courtney.
Mike: He is using her!
Lois: Not true.
Mike: The man is a shallow, womanizing --
Lois: Will you stop with the knee-jerk response? Give the guy a chance.
Mike: A chance? To sleep with my daughter?
Lois: By storming over there, what are you going to accomplish, huh? I mean, you'll make a scene, you'll probably make Courtney so mad at you, she won't speak to you for a week, maybe two.
Emily: Let go of me! Let go! Let go!
Helena: You -- you silly girl, you can't run. It's too late. I am going to remove you from Nikolas' life once and for all.
Jax: Mm-hmm.
Mike: Could we talk privately for a minute?
Courtney: Sure. What's up?
Mike: How can you do this?
Courtney: Do what?
Mike: Sleep with Jax? I mean, why can't you see that the man is taking advantage of you?
Courtney: Ok, Dad, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Mike: The hell I don't!
Alexis: Hey.
Jax: Hey.
Alexis: Did anyone tell you that Faith escaped?
Jax: Yeah, yeah, the police called while I was at Courtney’s. I'm not concerned. It's obvious that you are.
Alexis: For several reasons. Do you think your relationship with Courtney is prudent?
Jax: Maybe not, but I'm having fun.
Alexis: Well, she's a beautiful woman.
Jax: Yeah, she's also smart, funny. I enjoy her company.
Alexis: Good. Like her for those attributes and not because of your rivalry with Sonny.
Jax: Sonny's an enemy. He's not a rival.
Alexis: Semantics aside, you've clashed over women before. Just hoping it's not a new spin on an old pattern.
Jax: Courtney is far more than that.
Alexis: As I was saying, just be sure you like her for the right reasons.
Jason: Ric is going to be going all over this.
Sonny: Faith has to die by accident. Ok? There can't be any proof that we were involved. Is that going to be a problem?
Jason: No.
Sonny: You need to find Justus because wherever Justus is, Faith will be close by.
Faith: Well, what did you have in mind?
Justus: You need to leave the country, Faith. You have more than enough money in your offshore accounts to live comfortably for the rest of your life.
Faith: What, and leave all my loved ones behind?
Justus: You can shake off the past; start a new life.
Faith: You know, you could use a new life yourself. How about starting one with me?
Helena: I can't say I'm surprised.
Nikolas: What did you do to her?
Helena: Tomorrow morning we'll begin administering his drugs intravenously.
Nikolas: No. No, she leaves here tonight!
Helena: Take him back to his room.
Justus: Faith, it was too late years ago.
Faith: I was a better woman with you. And you -- you came alive when you were with me.
Justus: Faith, we were reckless and passionate and so on fire that we burned through each other's lives.
Faith: No, you know what? I want to feel that now. Justus, burn through me now.
Sonny: Uh -- "Father unknown"?
Carly: No, but just look. Look a little closer. Do you see anything?
Sonny: Uh -- well, it looks it's kind of darker or something over here, right?
Carly: Mm-hmm, yeah, like -- like there was something written there, and it was crossed out. There must have been someone's name there.
Sonny: Did you ask Bobbie about it?
Carly: Yeah. She still claims that she has no idea who my father is. She does, Sonny. She does, I know it. I'm sure of it. And I'm not going to stop until I find out who it is.
Jax: What are we going to do? French bistro?
Courtney: Ok, anyplace but Kelly’s. Let's just go.
Mike: Excuse me --
Courtney: Ugh.
Mike: You and I need to talk.
Courtney: Ignore him, ok? He has no respect for personal boundaries.
Mike: It'll just take a minute.
Courtney: Dad.
Jax: I don't have anything to hide from your father, so --
Lois: I didn't say a word.
Courtney: Oh, ok. So just out of the blue, my dad is convinced that Jax and I have slept together?
Lois: Courtney, I discreetly hinted that maybe it wasn't the best night to drop in on you because you already had company, that's all.
Courtney: Ok, you know what, Lois? Discreet isn't your best event. I'd like to get everybody's attention, please. I -- I'd like to clear a little thing up here. Jax and I have not slept together, ok? However, there is an excellent chance that we will sleep together at a future date. And in the event Jax and I do have sex, I will be sure to keep you all informed.
Nikolas' voice: We said that we were going to be brothers instead of enemies.
Emily's voice: All for one --
Emily and Lucky’s voices: And one for all.
Helena's voice: You weren't fated to die. You were meant to live out your legacy.
Nikolas' voice: Stefan is dead.
Alexis' voice: I'm not saying it's your fault.
Lucky's voice: Because you're loyal. You care about people.
Nikolas' voice: Emily!
Emily: It's St. Viviana's day! The first time we ever kissed.
Nikolas: To be my wife. Emily!
Jason: It's a gas leak. We got to get out.
Nikolas: I decided that I needed divine protection. Emily!
Emily's voice: I love you more than anyone. More than I ever imagined. And I always will -- and I always will -- and I always will --
Dillon: Grandfather's hearing things. He thinks it's grandmother.
Brook Lynn: Let's hold a séance.
Nikolas: Now's our chance to get out of here.
Jason: You still have time to make this right!
Bobbie: I wanted to talk to you.
Sonny: What about?
Carly: Why are you taking my mother's side?
