Emily: I just keep wishing that he could -- he could reach out to me somehow and just give me a sign or a message; something to hold on to besides this awful emptiness that I’m feeling inside.

Nikolas: Are sure about this?

Mary: I know what it's like to lose someone. I can't help but feel bad for her.

Nikolas: Yeah, I know, but you don't even know this Emily woman.

Mary: I know the kind of pain she's in, and I just want to be a presence at her fiancé’s memorial service. She'll need all the support she can get, even if it is from a stranger.

Nikolas: Ok, then.

Mary: Wait, you don't have to walk me to the car.

Nikolas: I'm not. I'm going with you.

Mary: Connor, promise me you won't go anywhere near that church.

Sonny: Are you still hanging in?

Sam: Why wouldn't I?

Sonny: Just checking. It's pretty intense being with me. One minute I need my space; the next minute I -- I can't get close enough. And then it changes back again. I drain people dry.

Sam: Hmm. Well, I am not "people." And if this is an example of being drained, you definitely won't hear me complain.

Sonny: See, you tease it off, you know, but I'm trying to tell you something. I'm a selfish man, Sam.

Sam: I've heard all the warnings, Sonny. You can't scare me away.

Carly: Look at the way that ransom note is addressed -- "Dear Michael’s mother"? And they're demanding $500. Does that make any sense to you?

Leticia: No.

Carly: No. Michael is definitely hiding, and I know why.

Nikolas: Why -- why wouldn't you want me to go to the memorial service with you?

Mary: Those police officers who came to the door -- well, one of them is the brother of the man who died. That puts at least one cop at the memorial service, and who's to say that there won't be more?

Nikolas: So?

Mary: So, you're a deserter from the marines. You can't just go walking around where people can see you.

Nikolas: But the military and the local police are on separate tracks, Mary.

Mary: We can't be sure of that. For all we know, your picture has been downloaded onto every police computer in the state of New York.

Nikolas: Mary, I think that catching an AWOL marine will be the last thing on a grieving brother's mind, ok? And, I don't know, going to a memorial service might open up old wounds for you. I don't want you to have to deal with that alone.

Mary: I'll be fine, Connor. I'm not the widow. My husband will be safe at home, waiting for me.

Jason: You know, that signal that you were looking for -- maybe somehow the service will give you what you need.

Emily: Lucky. For a minute, I thought that --

Lucky: I was Nikolas?

Emily: Yeah. I realize it's crazy.

Lucky: No. No, it's not.

Emily: Every time the phone rings or I hear a knock at the door, my heart stops for a minute.

Lucky: Yeah, me too. My mind understands that my brother is gone, but my -- my heart hasn't gotten word.

Jason: Lucky, I’m sorry for your loss.

Lucky: Thanks. I'm glad you could make it. Nikolas would have wanted you to be here.

Lesley Lu: Lucky!

Lucky: Hi, angel. Hi.

Lesley Lu: Grandma said Nikolas died. Tell her it's not true. He just got lost.

Lucky: Um --

Lesley Lu: You can find him and bring him back.

Lucky: I'm sorry, sweetheart, but grandma's right. Nikolas is -- he's gone to heaven.

Lesley Lu: Why?

Lucky: Well, because God needed him. But Nikolas is still our brother; that's forever. And he's always going to stay right here in our hearts.

Lesley Lu: I don't want Nikolas to be in heaven. I want him to come back home.

Lesley: He can't, sweetheart. She just can't wrap her mind around it.

Emily: Neither can I, Lulu. Neither can I.

Skye: Lucky's upfront. You might want to let him know you're here.

Luke: That isn't necessary.

Lucky: Grandma, come here. Take Lulu.

Lesley: Ok. Come on, baby. Come on. Here we go. Ok.

Carly: Did you find him?

Leticia: No, and I searched the back and I called and I called, but I couldn't go any further because I can't leave Morgan alone.

Carly: Ok. All right, if he's not outside, then he has got to be hiding somewhere in this house -- in a closet, under the bed, something. Michael? Michael, I know you are upset because you want me and your daddy together. Come on, Michael. We're going to discuss this. We'll figure it out. Michael, you need to come out right now! Ok, Michael, you're scaring me now. Is that what you want?

Leticia: I'm going to go and check the bedrooms again.

Carly: Yeah, do that.

Leticia: Michael? Michael, where are you?

Courtney: You destroyed my family, and I despise you for it. I wouldn't accept your help even if my life depended on it.

Lorenzo: You are a moral, principled woman. That's why I’m alive today. I owe you, Courtney, and I always pay my debts.

Courtney: Yeah, well, consider yourself absolved. I will never need or take anything from you. You know, wait -- if you want to do something for me, Alcazar, you want to pay your debt, why don't you leave town and never come back? Just forget you ever set foot in Port Charles.

[Phone rings]

Courtney: Hey, what's up? What's wrong?

Carly: Michael has run off again, and I can't find him anywhere.

Courtney: Ok, I'll be right over.

Sonny: You are -- you are easy to be with. You know that, right? Sometimes I even think you're too good to be true.

Sam: Hmm. See, that is the point. I'm not good and I am not noble.

Sonny: Well, see, that's probably why I like you because, see, "noble" is just a code name for holier-than-thou, self-righteous hypocrites who yammer about right and wrong, and then they turn around and stab you in the back.

Sam: I guess we've moved on to Courtney, huh?

Sonny: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, no. We're not going to discuss Courtney or my father or my ex-wife tonight. They are banished from this evening. We're not even going to think about them because I would like to do something for you.

Sam: Really? Like what?

Sonny: You tell me. You want me to fly you back to the island?

Sam: Yeah, right.

Sonny: How about I take you to Manhattan for dinner?

Sam: Are you serious?

Sonny: Well, I mean, you know, whatever you want. All you got to do is claim it.

[Knock on door]

Carly: Hey.

Courtney: Have you found him?

Carly: No. Here. Take that and come help me search outside.

Courtney: Ok. Where's Morgan?

Carly: He's with Leticia. Come on.

Courtney: Wait, wait! Carly, have you called the police?

Carly: No! Look -- here, read this, read this. Does that look like it was written by anyone over the age of 8? Michael has decided to fake his own kidnapping because he wants me and Sonny back together.

Courtney: Poor kid. So is Sonny searching, too?

Carly: I haven't called Sonny.

Courtney: Why not?

Carly: Because you heard him at Kelly’s. He already wants to take me back to court and get custody of the kids again. I'm not going to tell him that Michael went ahead and wandered off yet again.

Courtney: Carly, I think that Sonny needs to know that his kid is missing.

Carly: Forget it, ok, I'm not giving Sonny any more ammunition to try and take my kids. Courtney, we don't have time to discuss this right now. Michael is out there. It's dark. He's got to be scared. Come on. Are you coming with me? Come on!

Ned: Don’t.

Tracy: Why can't I offer Emily my condolences?

Ned: Because comfort is not your forte. Don't use this tragedy as an excuse to sharpen your claws.

Tracy: You cut me to the quick, Ned.

Ned: You'll get over it. That was fast, even for you.

Justus: Dillon, Dillon, Dillon -- what's going on? You all right?

Dillon: My mother at 2:00. Don't tell her I’m here.

Tracy: Where did he go?

Justus: Who?

Tracy: "Who"? Dillon, my son. I saw him. He was here.

Justus: He's not around here now, is he?

Tracy: Ugh.

Ric: I'm sorry about Nikolas.

Alexis: Thank you. I know how close you two were. Why are you here?

Ric: Look, Elizabeth and Nikolas were good friends. I figured since she couldn't be here, I should be.

Alexis: I understand that she left you. My condolences.

Ric: Since when are you so concerned with my personal life?

Alexis: Would you do me a favor? Try not to be unobtrusive. There are people here who actually loved Nikolas and don't want to be upset any more than they already are.

Ric: Audrey.

Audrey: Ric.

Ric: How's Elizabeth?

Audrey: As well as could be expected under the circumstances.

Ric: Is there something wrong with the baby?

Audrey: No, the baby's fine.

Ric: Oh.

Audrey: Elizabeth's only regret is that she couldn't be here for Nikolas' memorial. She hasn't mentioned you at all.

Luke: What was it you guys used to call yourselves? The Gang of Four?

Lucky: The Four Musketeers.

Luke: Not very original.

Lucky: It gave us words for the bond we felt. I'm going to miss him, dad.

Luke: I know.

Lucky: I'm glad you came. I realize it's probably more for Skye than me or Nikolas, but it's nice to know you're around.

Minister: Thank you all for coming to celebrate the life of Nikolas Cassadine.

Carly: Ok, now I'm scared.

Courtney: Well, maybe Michael came back while we were gone.

Carly: Leticia?

Leticia: Yeah?

Carly: Hey. Anything?

Leticia: No. What do you need me to do?

Carly: I -- stay with Morgan. Don't let him out of your sight.

Leticia: Right.

Courtney: Hey, are you starting to think that someone really did grab Michael?

Carly: I don't know what I'm supposed to think anymore. I mean, it is obvious that Michael wrote that note, right? But he's been gone way too long now.

Courtney: Carly, we need to call the police.

Carly: No. No, no, no.

Courtney: Then Jason. Look, it's dark. Carly, we are not going to be able to find Michael by ourselves. We need help.

Sonny: You look amazing.

Sam: Thanks to your exquisite taste, not to mention your generosity.

Sonny: Now see, it's money well spent because that dress --

Sam: Mm-hmm?

Sonny: Does you justice.

Sam: And I promise I'm not going to spill any red wine on it.

Sonny: You're not going to be able to spill red wine. You know why?

Sam: Why?

Sonny: Because we're drinking champagne tonight. How do I look? Do I pass your inspection?

Sam: You figure it out.

Sonny: You know what?

Sam: What?

Sonny: We keep this up, we ain't going to make it out that door, you know that?

Sam: Well, haven't you heard? Dancing is overrated.

[Phone rings]

Sonny: You know, one of these -- I'm going to get that phone disconnected. You know what I mean?

Sam: Sure you are. Answer it.

Sonny: All right. I'll be right back, ok?

Sam: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: Two seconds? Two seconds. This better be good.

Carly: Sonny, I need you now.

Sonny: What happened?

Carly: Michael -- he's gone and I can't find him anywhere.

Alexis: I was holding my daughter last night, and I was thinking, "What would be the most impressive thing that I could tell her about Nikolas?" And I knew right away that it was his capacity to love. He had wisdom beyond his years about love. He loved so generously and so genuinely. I really, truly think that he believed that it could conquer all odds. And I know that he believed that it could rise strong and steady before people who would continually try to tear it down. I will miss my nephew for the rest of my life. I'm so glad he loved you, Emily.

Emily: I'd like to tell you about the man I loved.

Mary: Connor? Connor? Are you here?

Emily: Every little girl who hears the story of Cinderella waits for the day her own prince will come. She tries on her mother's shoes, pretending it's the glass slipper. She -- she waltzes by herself in the dark of her room imagining that she's in her prince's arms. And then reality sets in and the little girl realizes that princes live in fairy tales and rarely in the real world. But I was incredibly lucky. Not only did I find a real, live prince, but he loved me as much as I loved him. I beat the prince odds, at least for a while. Alexis, you said that you learned something new about love from Nikolas, and that -- that struck my heart because I did, too. I learned of its fearsome strength, that it was stronger than age-old vendettas and plots and lies, that it was stronger than cancer, and, yes, I'm learning now that it's stronger than death. Nikolas may not be here in this room with us, but I can feel his love all around. And I know that if he could speak to us, he would tell us to love and to value each other.

Helena: Oh, stop it! No more of this sanctimonious drivel from all of you lying hypocrites. Everyone in this room is responsible for -- for Nikolas' death. And I vow on all that is unholy that every one of you will pay.

Carly: Hey.

Sonny: You got the note?

Carly: Courtney's got it.

Sonny: He's acting out again. You're right.

Courtney: Well, that's what we thought, too, but he's been gone so long, Sonny.

Carly: Ok, ok. What if he got lost? Sonny, what if he fell and he hurt himself? I mean, some pervert could've pulled up in his car and Michael could've gotten in.

Sonny: No, no, he's not going to get in a car with a stranger. We're going to find him. We're going to find him.

Carly: Ok, so what are your men doing? Are they out there? Are they doing something?

Sonny: They're spread out from here to the penthouse. I got it all covered.

[Knock on door]

Courtney: I'll get it.

Jason: Michael's got a fort in the woods. He built it himself.

Sonny: Do you know where it is?

Jason: Yeah, I know. It's his secret place, but he showed me one time.

Sonny: Let's go.

Carly: Ok.

Jason: Wait, wait, wait. Can I -- can I go alone? You know, maybe I can talk to Michael; make him understand that -- that by running away, he's not doing the right thing.

Carly: Jason, I think he needs to hear it from us, don't you --

Sonny: No, Carly, Jason’s right. We got to work some things out.

[Door opens and closes]

Carly: Sonny, what more can we explain to Michael about the divorce?

Sonny: We need to present a united front. You know how Michael is -- he's relentless. He's not going to give up until he gets what he wants or he gets hurt. We need to stop this behavior right now, together.

Helena: None of you will escape my wrath. Everyone who played a part in Nikolas' death will end up as cold and still as he is today. Oh, Luke. Luke Spencer, for foisting your miserable excuse for a wife on my family and then forcing her to turn her spineless back on her eldest son? And then killing the father that Nikolas should've had and leaving him at the mercy of that worthless Stefan. Oh, and Alexis -- oh, little Alexis, for encouraging Nikolas to turn his back on his rightful legacy. And the Quartermaines? Oh, the Quartermaines -- they allowed their mongrel stepdaughter to seduce my grandson from his calling as the future of his family! But most importantly --

Luke: All right, that concludes the freak show portion of this evening's entertainment.

Helena: I will not be silenced by you.

Luke: The hell you won't! Nikolas got a raw deal -- you're right. But not from Alexis, not from Emily, not from the Quartermaines. Nikolas had the bad fortune to be the only human being to ever fall off your demented family tree! He was a decent kid, no thanks to you and your kind. Everything good about him was because of his mother! Everything. Now, I chose not to get close to him, but I knew him well enough to know he wouldn't want you here spitting venom at the people he loved, so I’m going to do one last thing to honor my wife's son. I'm giving you the heave-ho out of his memorial service. You can go voluntarily, or it'll be my pleasure to drag you out by your dripping fangs.

Helena: This is not the last time you people will hear from me.

Luke: Maybe not, but that's it for this evening.

Emily: Thank you.

Mary: Where were you?

Nikolas: The memorial service.

Mary: Connor, I asked you not to go there.

Nikolas: Yeah, and I understand why now. And it has nothing to do with the police or the military or otherwise.

Lorenzo: I'm concentrating my U.S. operations here in Port Charles. For that, I need waterfront property.

Man: Your timing couldn't be better. A major expanse may be coming on the market soon. However, there could be some complications in the purchase.

Lorenzo: Don't tell me about complications, smooth them out. That's your job.

Man: I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Lorenzo: Thank you.

Sam: What kind of evil pig are you?

Lorenzo: I take it that's a rhetorical question?

Sam: I knew you'd stoop to most anything, but snatching Carly and Sonny's son? He's just a little boy.

Lorenzo: What are you saying?  Michael is missing?

Sam: Oh, come on, drop the innocent act. This has your name all over it just like the car bombing. Once again, it's all about your sick obsession with Carly.

Lorenzo: Not that I have to justify myself to you, but I happen to love Carly, and I would never hurt her by stealing her child. Now, how long has Michael been missing? When and where was he last seen?

Sam: Why should I tell you?

Lorenzo: What's more important to you, saving the little boy's life or toeing Sonny's line?

Sonny: I need to speak to you alone.

Carly: I asked Courtney to come here. She's been helping me look for Michael.

Sonny: Carly, Carly, I said alone.

Courtney: Look, you guys, there's no reason to fight over me.

Sonny: No --

Courtney: I'll go.

Carly: I will keep you posted.

Courtney: Ok. Let me know when you find him, ok?

Carly: I will. You are an amazing friend.

Courtney: Hey. Sonny, don't put your pride in front of the welfare of your kids.

Carly: You know, Courtney’s right. You're totally focused on your foolish, stubborn pride.

Sonny: And what are you focused on, Carly? Obviously not your children. You let Michael run away again.

Jason: Michael? It's Jason! Call out if you hear me!  Michael! Are you out here, buddy? Answer me!

Michael: Jason, I’m here.

Emily: Lulu, take a look at this ring.

Lesley Lu: It's pretty.

Emily: Yeah. Nikolas gave it to me when we were engaged.

Lesley Lu: Why did you take it off?

Emily: Um -- the ring was a symbol of Nikolas' promise to marry me, and that can't happen now. I can't wear it anymore, so I'm going to put it in a special place and I'm going to give it to you on your 21st birthday. It'll be a present from your big brother.

Lesley Lu: But Nikolas gave you the present. Doesn't he want you to keep it?

Emily: Nikolas gave me the best present anyone ever has, Lulu -- his heart. And I'm going to keep it in my own until the day I die. All right.

Lucky: Hey, why don't -- why don't we go outside.

Nikolas: When you said that you were scared that I would be apprehended at the church, you weren't being honest with me.

Mary: I'm sorry. I just wanted --

Nikolas: No, just let me finish, ok? Let me finish. What really scared you was the thought of me seeing Emily and hearing her -- her talk about losing the man she loved. Well, you -- you were right to worry because -- because, yeah, that shook me up pretty bad. I mean, I left before -- before she even finished. You know, I was really confused by how deeply it affected me, and on the way home, I figured out why. The pain that Emily was feeling -- that must've been how you felt when you thought I was dead. Look -- ok. I want you to know, ok? I promise that you will never have to suffer like that again as long as I have the power to protect you. Ok? It's ok.

Tracy: Luke was something, wasn't he, the way he took on that old bat in Nikolas' defense?

Dillon: Since when are you a fan of Luke’s?

Tracy: Sweetheart, Luke and I have known each other for years, but that's not the point. What is the point is that Nikolas and Luke had a very difficult relationship, far more so than you and I, and what Luke proved is that tragedy can make people overcome their petty differences. Maybe we should take a lesson from him.

Dillon: I don't see it.

Tracy: Do I have to die for you to cut me some slack?

Dillon: Mother, I have been -- I've been very clear about this. I do not wish you dead. I just don't trust you anymore, and I never will.

Skye: Deny it all you want. Somewhere deep down inside, you had real respect for Nikolas.

Luke: He was a thorn in my side that wasn't all that bad.

Skye: You know, some days I like you more than others.

Luke: You know, that's a real halfhearted compliment, but I'll take it.

Ric: What do you got for me?

Jim: Nothing you want to hear. Edward Quartermaine ordered a D.N.A. test on Alexis Davis' baby --

Ric: Mm-hmm.

Jim: Before the child was born. Now, Sonny Corinthos was on hand for the results, which were unmistakable. Ned Ashton is the father.

Ric: I'm not convinced. No, the Quartermaines run general hospital. Ned Ashton could've rigged or switched the test results. No, my gut is screaming at me that Sonny is the natural father of Alexis' child. All I got to do is prove it.

Carly: So you're back to blaming me? Huh? What happened to us working together? You said it yourself -- Michael is relentless.

Sonny: Which is why you should keep a closer eye on him. What were you doing that was so important you couldn't be bothered to keep up with him?

Carly: Listen, stop it! Just stop it! This is exactly why Michael ran away in the first place. He is so sick of seeing us tear at each other. We have got to put aside our anger and we have to act like adults so we can figure out what is best for our children.

Sonny: Yeah, that's true. I just don't know what we're supposed to do from here.

Carly: Look, Michael faked his own kidnapping to force us back together. He obviously wants our family back the way it used to be, and we have to figure out what is best for him.

Sam: Michael is missing. I don't know. He could've run away. I'm not sure. What do you think?

Lorenzo: I own the property surrounding Carly’s house. I think the woods would appeal to a little boy. He probably headed there.

Michael: Jason, I’m here.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Dillon: We've got to start living in the moment.

Georgie: What do you mean?

Officer: This is the police. Pull over and turn off your engine.

Ric: What does Sonny have on you?

Sonny: You'd be with a man you hate just so your kids would be happy?

Jason: Michael! Can you hear me?
