Nikolas: That treasure belongs to the Quartermaines and the Cassadines. Now, I want it back.
Cody: Well, that may prove to be a little difficult.
Nikolas: I'm not asking, Mr. Cody.
Cody: Samantha and I are not the only players involved. Now, things just got a little more dangerous.
Carly: Something's wrong.
Sonny: Ok, first -- wait, wait. This is my plane. I don't -- I don't do anything I don't want to do. What are you doing here?
Sam: I could have testified when you kidnapped me. I tried to get you acquitted instead. Listen, you owe me one. We need to take off, ok?
Cody: Yeah, I assumed that you wanted to unload the treasure.
Nikolas: So -- so you arranged for an illegal buyer without my knowledge? Now, I suppose you're about to tell me you planned to turn the proceeds over to me as well.
Cody: Less a small commission for my services.
Nikolas: Of course, of course. You are a thief and a liar. Now, where's the treasure, Cody?
Cody: I assume that Samantha has the treasure, which means that she's probably in danger.
Nikolas: From who?
Cody: From Ben, the fence. He wants the treasure, too.
Nikolas: Go on.
Cody: He pulled a gun on me. He hit me in the head, ok, and then he took off.
Nikolas: Oh, would this Ben -- would he kill for the treasure, I wonder?
Cody: Yeah, it's -- it's possible. Look, I -- I just wanted to arrange a simple business transaction and I did not want anyone to get hurt.
Nikolas: Then you shouldn't have tried to steal the treasure in the first place or let your daughter steal it from you.
Cody: Fine! What do you expect me to do about it now?
Nikolas: I expect you to fix this! Find the treasure and return it to me or I'll see to it that you're charged as an accessory to any crime that your fence commits while pursuing my property.
Cody: You're bluffing.
Nikolas: You try me.
Jax: Just get a coffee to go please.
Courtney: All right. Coming right up.
Jax: Saw you at the Haunted Star opening. Who was that you were with?
Courtney: A friend.
Jax: I notice no wedding ring. Does that mean you and Jason are separated?
Courtney: The coffee's $1.20.
Jax: Sorry, I mean that's probably for the best though. I've always thought you were a nice girl Courtney. You know, you don't want to live in a world where women are treated like objects and you have to turn a blind eye to --
Courtney: Ok, you know what? Look, I know that you're not trying to be a total jerk, but I'm not going to just stand here while you insult my family.
Jax: Oh, no, no, no, it's just an observation. Jason's living in a penthouse and you're working as a waitress. You seem to be getting the short end of the stick.
Sage: Whoever first thought these things up had zero taste.
Lorenzo: Yeah. I'm surprised you agreed to take it home.
Sage: We used to throw these things off bridges in Paris. They'd hit the Seine and then float away.
Lorenzo: Oh, so you actually had fun? That's the first time I've heard you say anything positive about your time in Europe.
Sage: Oh, that doesn't mean I want to go back. I can throw this off a bridge right here. Unless you want to try.
Lorenzo: This thing?
[Sage laughs]
Sage: Uncle Lorenzo, I cannot believe you just did that.
Lorenzo: Why, because I never do anything impulsive or fun, hmm? Because I'm all business all the time? Couldn't enjoy myself if my life depended on it?
Sage: Oh, I didn't say that.
Lorenzo: But you were thinking it. It's written all over your face. You know, someday I am going to have to teach you not to let your expressions show your true feelings.
Sage: Well, thanks for taking me to dinner.
Lorenzo: Yeah, I enjoyed it. I am sorry I’ve been so busy lately.
Sage: No, it's still way better than boarding school.
Lorenzo: I agree. I think having you here is good for both of us.
Sage: Maybe you didn't realize it, but I think before I came here, you were pretty lonely.
Lorenzo: You might be right.
Sage: You know, I -- I know you wanted things to work out with Carly, but now that she's back with her husband, please don't go back to working all the time.
Lorenzo: I won’t. People don't change easily, Sage and once they do, it's -- it's hard for them to go back.
Jason: You said something was wrong.
Carly: Yeah and I tried to make it clear on the phone that I wasn't in danger.
Jason: Ok, just -- just tell me.
Carly: I -- I mean, I've been having these -- these flashes. It's like -- it's like a white light and I had some head pain.
Jason: Sonny told me. Do you need me to take you back to the doctor?
Carly: No, because he already checked me out and nothing's wrong. Listen, I just thought maybe that --
Jason: What?
Carly: Did this ever happen to you?
Jason: No.
Carly: What -- ok, then -- then how long were you out of the coma when we met?
Jason: Four months maybe.
Carly: And how did it feel, Jason? How -- how was it? Was everything really just so much more intense? Was it -- it was like everything, all your senses, they were heightened and everything was just firing at once?
Jason: Are you asking about me or yourself?
Sam: Thanks for the save.
Sonny: Oh, you're welcome. Now you can start paying me back by telling me who was shooting at you.
Sam: It's long and -- and complicated.
Sonny: I got time.
Sam: I really don't have many of the details actually.
Sonny: Oh, really? Then how come it's complicated?
Sam: All right, it started with my dad. He showed up in Port Charles a few weeks ago.
Sonny: Your dad was shooting at you?
Sam: No, no, no, not him, his bookies. They want money; he doesn't have any. So pop came to town to fleece me.
Sonny: So you decided to run?
Sam: Not at first. But once they found out I was Cody McCall’s daughter, they figured I was good for his debt.
Sonny: Well, couldn't Jax help you out with that?
Sam: Jax and I were a game. High stakes and adrenaline.
Sonny: Well, it looks like you're the big winner.
Sam: What do you mean?
Sonny: What do I mean? I'll show you. Whoa, whoa, whoa -- it's fine. So, here we go. Here we go.
Sam: Look, I --
sonny: Whoa, whoa! Hey -- before you start explaining, there's one thing you need to understand. It's a bad idea to lie to me.
Emily: Oh, my God.
Nikolas: It's ok, I got you.
Emily: It's cold. It's cold.
Emily: Nikolas, the book! Nikolas, the book -- the book. The treasure's gone! The book is -- the book's all that's left.
Jax: I've changed my mind.
Courtney: Can I get you anything else?
Jax: I would love a refill so you're going to be staying in Port Charles?
Courtney: I'm really not interested in discussing my personal life.
Jax: No, no, no. Look, I'm not -- I’m not asking about Jason. I -- I was just wondering about your plans.
Courtney: I'm enrolling in City College.
Jax: You can do better than that. I'm sure Jason would be willing to pay your tuition to P.C.U., right?
Courtney: Ok, ok, ok, ok. Not that it's any of your business, Jax, but I have been taking care of myself for a really long time and if I do go to school, I can pay my own way.
Jax: And why haven't you enrolled already?
Courtney: Because Carly got hurt and my family needed me.
Jax: Do you hear yourself?
Courtney: What?
Jax: You want to go to school but you can't because your brother shot his wife in the head.
Courtney: Hmm.
Jax: Now, Jason may make it his life's mission to clean up after Sonny and Carly, but that doesn't have to be yours.
Courtney: Why do you care?
Jax: Because when you first arrived in town, you were very independent. Now you seem to be living your life in reaction to Sonny and Jason and -- forgive me -- but their ridiculous code of honor.
Ben: Just checking the place out.
Brian: You new in town?
Ben: Just passing through.
Brian: Sounds like a good idea.
Courtney: Of course I do.
Jax: What are they?
Courtney: Ok, you still haven't told me why you're suddenly so interested in me and the future course of my life.
Jax: Because there are always opportunities for smart people like yourself and J&J Jacks.
Courtney: You want me to work for you?
Brian: Forget it.
Sage: I'm trying to read your face.
Lorenzo: Hmm, any success?
Sage: You were thinking about business negotiations?
Lorenzo: Actually, I was thinking about Carly.
Sage: How do you do that? Whenever I think about someone I like, anyone can tell.
Lorenzo: Hmm, how are things going with Dillon?
Sage: See what I mean?
Lorenzo: Has he been mean to you?
Sage: No, not at all. It's -- I like him a lot more than he likes me. You think I should just give up and find someone else?
Lorenzo: Well, that's for you to decide.
Sage: You wouldn't?
Lorenzo: Well, you have to ask yourself if your life would be better, if you can make peace with giving up or if you'll constantly be looking back and missing what you almost had.
Sage: Dillon keeps doing that with his old girlfriend. He keeps pining over her, wasting his time and I tried to make him see that, but he didn't care and I stormed out. Think I made a mistake?
Lorenzo: Well, I can tell you this Sage. Most of what I’ve achieved in my life has been through patience and perseverance. Come here. Storming out in a fit of rage is all well and good. At the time, it makes your pride feel good. But in the long run, it's a lot more satisfying to get what you want.
Jason: Then -- then why did you ask me about how I used to feel?
Carly: I don't know anyone else who used to be in a coma.
Jason: Carly, why -- why did you ask me if everything I felt was more intense?
Carly: Was it?
Jason: No.
Carly: Come on, Jase. Come on, it had to be. You used to be -- you used to be wild. Honestly, you were like -- you were like an animal. Everything was on instinct. You lived your life -- I don't know -- everyone else seemed to live their life at, let's say, a volume of 20. Yours was 30. Now you are so calm, you are so controlled.
Jason: I have to be. If I let myself react to everything I feel, Carly, I would lose it.
Carly: So you shut down instead?
Jason: I try to. You know, most of the time it works.
Carly: I'm sure it gets easier then, right?
Jason: No, but I live with it.
Carly: I'm not sure if that sounds really wonderful or really terrible. I mean, but how can -- how can having stronger feelings be bad, right?
Jason: Is that what's happening to you?
Carly: I'm not sure, Jase. I don't know. Ok, I -- I finally -- I finally felt like I was back to normal. I remember how much I love Sonny. I feel it, ok, and I don't want it to change. I just want to be the way that I was.
Sonny: You call in a favor, I help you out, and you repay me by lying to my face?
Sam: No, no, no. Everything I said is true. My father is in debt and his creditors are after me --
Sonny: Where does this fit in?
Sam: It's mine.
Sonny: You didn't steal it?
Sam: No, it belongs to me.
Sonny: Ok, wait, wait, wait, wait. Ok, no, no, no, it doesn't -- you know what? I'm going to go to the pilot right now. I'm going to tell him to land the plane and that way maybe, hopefully, you won't get checked in security.
Sam: No, no, no, you can't just dump me off. I helped you out when you were in trouble.
Sonny: Well, I helped you out when I -- by flying you out of Pport Charles, but I didn't intend to transport stolen property.
Sam: Sonny, don't do this.
Sonny: Ok, you know, don't -- look, one thing you need to know -- I give the orders. I don't take them.
Sam: That treasure?
Sonny: Yeah?
Sam: It's rightfully mine.
Sonny: Mm-hmm?
Sam: But I will share it with you if you take me where I want to go.
Courtney: Brian was out of line, but so are you.
Jax: You're offended that I offered you a job?
Courtney: Sonny would hate the thought of me working for you.
Jax: Oh --
Courtney: And that is exactly why you suggested it, Jax.
Jax: No, no, no. You're the one who insists on seeing yourself as an appendage to Sonny and Jason. I happen to see you as an individual who would be a great asset to my company.
Courtney: Thanks, but I'm not interested.
Jax: Ok, the offer still stands so if you change your mind give me a call, ok?
Brian: Look, I'm sorry. I know I overstepped.
Courtney: Yeah, that's one way to describe it. Don't ever try to run my life again.
Carly: It's nothing.
Jason: You just said it was something.
Carly: Ok, you can relate to what it feels like, like I do, to be hurt the way I was. It's -- really, it's all I needed.
Jason: You need to -- you need to be honest with Sonny.
[Phone rings]
Carly: Sonny feels guilty enough about what happened.
Jason: What, and hearing the truth about what you're hiding now is going to make him feel guiltier, right?
[Ring]
Carly: Hello?
Sonny: How you feeling?
Carly: Hey Sonny, I'm good, really. I just -- I miss you.
Sonny: Yeah, I miss you too sweetheart. Listen, I just wanted to tell you I could be delayed.
Carly: Is everything all right?
Sonny: Fine. I just -- I got to -- I got to make an extra stop, that's all.
[Static]
Carly: Ok, be careful. Sonny, I love you so much and I just --
[Line goes dead]
Carly: Sonny? Hello? I lost him. What -- don't -- don't, Jason. Don't look at me like that.
Jason: Why -- why didn't you tell him?
Carly: Because there is nothing to tell, all right? Sonny's going to be home in a couple of days and everything's going to go back to normal, just the way it was. Anyway, he sounded distracted. He's -- probably, he's concentrating on business.
Sonny: Well -- I'm going out of my way. It's going to cost you.
Sam: Yeah, well, I think I can pay for the ride.
Sonny: Well, you don't look too happy about it.
Sam: Oh, come on Sonny, it's not like you're too hard up for money right now. You got a plane and I don't know how many cars and houses and penthouses. Everything I own is pretty much right here.
Sonny: Well, share the wealth, I share my plane. Otherwise, I’m going to have to go tell the pilot to land this thing.
Sam: How's that for gas money?
Sonny: Wow.
Sonny: Hey, change of plans. We're going to -- where is it?
Sam: Azure Key.
Sonny: We're going to land in Azure Key. Yeah. Heard of it? Good. He has the coordinates.
Sam: Yeah, I'm awed by your generosity.
Sonny: Yeah. Hmm. Here.
Sam: You're returning it?
Sonny: No, I just want to see, you know, how it would look on my wife.
Emily: Nikolas --
Nikolas: Put that electric blanket on the bed for you. Should probably help keep you warm and then --
Emily: Nikolas --
Nikolas: Maybe a hot bath, you know, just to be safe.
Emily: Nikolas --
Nikolas: Monica told me that I should --
Emily: Nikolas, Nikolas, Nikolas -- come here. Come here. Sit down. Sit down. I'm ok, really.
Nikolas: I -- I know that you're ok, that you're safe here on my couch, but part of me is still in that damn grotto afraid that you're dead. Now, I could -- I could sit here and I could swear that the whole time I didn't think about anything except making you breathe, but I would be a liar because at some point I saw the rest of my life without you. I felt the most incredible hatred towards whoever took you from me. Now, that may not be -- be rational, but those feelings are so real and they're still with me and it may take a long time for them to go away.
Emily: And they will, I promise. But right now, we need to try to stay focused on finding that treasure.
Nikolas: Whoever -- whoever has it can keep it.
Emily: What are you talking about?
Nikolas: Emily, someone tried to kill you tonight -- either Cody or this Ben guy that he said he tried --
Emily: He may have tried to cheat us, but I don't believe that --
Nikolas: The point is the treasure's not worth your life.
Emily: Well, that's not your decision to make.
Nikolas: What do you mean?
Emily: Nikolas --
Nikolas: What do you mean?
Emily: I love you. I love you and I understand that you're worried, but that treasure is important to both of our families and we're going to go out there --
Nikolas: No --
Emily: And try to find it.
Nikolas: No, no, it's just money. It's -- it's the difference between living here or in some apartment or driving a Jag or taking a bus. Baby, I would rather fix cars or clean someone else's stalls if it means you're safe.
Emily: But you won't have to do that, Nikolas.
Nikolas: But I would and I will. One risk that I can't take is losing you.
Jason: No, no, no, you --
Carly: You don't have to stay here. It's --
Jason: You called me because something scared you and now you're trying to take it back, why?
[Knock on door]
Courtney: Hi.
Jason: Hey.
Courtney: Um -- I didn't realize you'd be here. I just thought I’d visit --
Jason: That's ok, I'm leaving.
Courtney: No, you don't have to leave.
Jason: It'll be easier for everyone.
[Courtney sighs]
Carly: Hi.
Courtney: Hi.
Carly: Last time I saw you, you were at the Haunted Star with a cop in hot pursuit.
Courtney: Brian asked me to the opening and I -- I don't know. I said yes on impulse. Even that was a mistake.
Carly: You must be pretty confused, huh?
Courtney: Oh Carly, it's awful. You know, I don't -- I don't even know what I’m doing from one minute till the next.
Carly: But you love Jason.
Courtney: Yeah, of course I do and I miss him so much, but I'm not even sure that he feels the same way.
Carly: Ok, Jason feels exactly the same way you do. He feels everything. He just -- he can't express it, all right? He feels things so strongly, he's just got to keep it all bottled up or he's going to explode and -- I don't know. Can't be easy to feel things that intensely.
Courtney: Hey, you ok?
Carly: Yeah. I'm good. I'm -- I just -- I don't know. I'm a little edgy today and Sonny had to go out of town, and I'm probably just going to be a little jumpy, edgy, whatever, until he gets back and I know he's safe and it's -- you know, I'm keeping you from the boys. Go. They're upstairs with Leticia.
Courtney: Are you going to come with me?
Carly: No, I know you don't say it much, but you like spending time with them alone. Go be a good auntie.
Courtney: Ok.
Carly: Enjoy.
Sam: Yeah, the island's pretty isolated. There's not a tourist attraction for, like, 300 miles.
Sonny: So, what, you're just going to hang out here and enjoy the solitude?
Sam: Well, the harbor is on the other side of the island. I'm just going to probably catch a ride on a fishing boat.
Sonny: How far -- how far is the harbor?
Sam: Five or six miles.
Sonny: Oh.
Sam: Easy hike in the daylight. Um -- really, thanks for the ride. It's time to go, I think.
Sonny: Yeah well, you got something that belongs to me.
Sam: Oh. I almost forgot.
Sonny: What?
Pilot: Bad news.
Sonny: What?
Pilot: We have a slow fuel leak. We'll need to head back to the mainland for repairs.
Sonny: That's not going to work.
Nikolas: I know --
Emily: But I can handle whatever comes up.
Nikolas: I know -- there's a lot of greedy people who want to get their hands on that treasure --
Emily: Ok, no, no --
Nikolas: Either one of them that can kill you --
Emily: Forget about the treasure for a minute. Forget about the treasure for a minute.
Nikolas: I would rather forget about it altogether.
Emily: The problem is that you've been isolated and protected your whole life by your uncle. He treated you like you were made out of glass, Nikolas. I mean, I remember it -- when you got shot in the throat, I had to fight to come in and visit you. I mean, that's probably why he bought this place. So I -- it's on an island with miles and miles of water --
Nikolas: What --
Emily: Between you and any possible threat.
Nikolas: What does my uncle have to do with the treasure?
Emily: Nothing at all but Stefan has a lot to do with how you are and how you think. Stefan loved you and he wanted to keep you safe, right? So he tried to stop you from taking chances. He interfered when he thought that you couldn't handle something. He didn't have faith in you, Nikolas, and I’m just asking you have faith in me.
Nikolas: I -- I do. But I also know you, you know? You -- you go charging into places where angels are afraid to go. I mean, you went to that -- that grotto tonight without even thinking --
Emily: I took a chance. I get to do that. Nikolas, you know I just survived breast cancer and there is no way that I’m going to risk my life for no purpose. I mean, I -- I refuse to turn into some cautious little person who is afraid to do anything for fear of getting hurt. Please, don't ask me to.
Nikolas: Sometimes I feel like I spent my whole life looking out of a window. There was a whole world out there that I didn't get to touch or experience because the risks were too great, because my life was just too precious. I felt like a prisoner. I won't do that to you.
Emily: Don't worry. I won't let you.
[Emily chuckles]
Nikolas: I love you.
Emily: I love you. I love you. So we're going after that treasure.
[Nikolas chuckles]
Nikolas: I guess so.
Emily: Side by side, whether it's dangerous or not.
Nikolas: Ok, side by side.
Ben: What I want is information. Sam McCall -- she took something that belongs to me. I want to know where she's headed.
Jax: Well then, you're going to have to shoot me because I don't know where she's headed and I don't care.
Sonny: I -- I don't know. Maybe I enjoy tin roof shacks. Maybe I think -- you know, I feel sorry for a little girl. Maybe I know the nearest airport is in a territory controlled by a business rival who will take my unexpected visit as a threat and he would act accordingly.
Sam: Oh, with guns?
Sonny: That's usually what happens, yeah.
Sam: All right, so you're stuck.
Sonny: Yeah, I am. You are an expensive favor -- you know that?
Sam: Oh, like, I -- I meant to do this? Come on, you can't blame it on me.
Sonny: Well, hey, you know what? The fuel line was damaged by bullets that were fired at you. My plane, leaking fuel, went about 100 miles off course to land in a deserted landing strip that you wanted to go to. Now I'm stuck in a shack the size of a matchbox because the nearest city is controlled by a man who would shoot me in the head as soon as he laid eyes on me. So like I said before, you are an expensive favor.
Sam: Right.
Sonny: Right.
Sam: So, I better get moving, then.
Sonny: I thought you were going to wait for daylight.
Sam: Yeah, on second thought, it's a lot cooler at night, so see you Sonny.
Sonny: See you. Hey! Wait!
Sam: What?
Sonny: My necklace.
Sam: Yeah, I -- I forgot.
Sonny: Right.
Sam: See the -- the clasp? It's stuck! I can't get it!
Sonny: No?
Sam: Well -- yes.
Sonny: Oh, that's a good one.
[Sonny chuckles]
Sonny: Whoa.
Sam: Oh.
Sonny: Ok. Get your bag. Let's go. Hope you know how to build a fire.
Brian: You can use them to knock me over the head when I’m done if you want. Just hear me out, ok?
Courtney: I'm listening.
Brian: My wife had a chance at a career that she really wanted. She'd had some medical training and there was a new physical therapy facility opening up in the area. The manager really liked her. He wanted to train her for the job, but we didn't exactly need the money so I discouraged her from taking it.
Courtney: Ok, well, I mean, I can see that you regret that now, but that doesn't have anything to do with my situation.
Brian: See, that's just it. Karen and Henry were driving back from baseball practice when they got hit by the drunk driver. Now, if she had been at work, she wouldn't have been on the road.
Courtney: Yeah, but you -- you can't think that way.
Brian: See, I was wrong about her and you. God, I’m the last person who should be telling you what to do.
Ben: Or you're lying to cover up for her.
Jax: No, Sam doesn't need my help. She's completely independent. Her and that treasure you're looking for are halfway around the world by now.
Ben: Sam got on a private jet. You might recognize the call letters -- XPY679.
[Jax chuckles]
Jax: I should've known.
Ben: You think this is funny?
Jax: No, well, it's -- it's a joke on someone. Sam got on a plane with Sonny Corinthos.
Sam: Most guys would have insisted on building the fire themselves.
Sonny: Well, see, I’m a -- I'm a city boy. I have a whole other set of survival skills.
Sam: I bet you do. How's your wife?
Sonny: Uh -- she's better. Thanks.
Sam: I have to admit something. The night you grabbed me, I thought you were a lunatic, but I also -- I thought it was very moving how much you loved her. Personally, I don't know -- I think I really would be, like, freaked out by someone who loved me enough to kill and die and -- I don't know. It's -- it is kind of beautiful. Your wife is a very lucky woman, Sonny. What?
Sonny: You got my necklace.
Sam: Yes, I do. It's stuck. It really is. I --
Sonny: All right, I got it. I could probably --
Sam: I'll hold it.
Sonny: Oh, thanks.
Sam: I really hope it's just --
Sonny: Let's see about this thing.
Sam: A cloud burst out there and not a tropical storm because we could probably get stranded here for a while.
Sonny: I think I got it. Here, here.
Lorenzo: I was here earlier with my niece. I decided to come back.
Carly: Yeah well, leave me alone, Lorenzo.
Lorenzo: Did you hurt yourself?
Carly: No, I slipped on the ice. Hey --
Lorenzo: Hey, hey, what's the hurry? Where are you headed?
Carly: I needed to get out of my house. I needed to get some air.
Lorenzo: Why? What upset you?
Carly: I -- it -- it was you. It was you on the Haunted Star. You were -- you were wearing a mask. I know it was you.
Lorenzo: You're right.
Carly: Why?
Lorenzo: Because I love you, Carly, and I cannot give you up. You are so beautiful to me.
Dillon: I told you I made a mistake.
Georgie: You're getting mad.
Emily: Why does it have an insignia that matches your tattoo?
Sam: One bed, two people.
Sonny: Why is that a problem?
