Tracy: It's the absolute truth -- Alan is not Skye's father.

Emily: I don't want anyone to know that I’m sick.

Sonny: Hey.

Ric: Hey!

Sonny: Faith's silent partner. We finally meet.

Faith: The phone rings, and I'm dead, right?

Carly: The baby is yours, but I thought it was Ric's. He raped me.

Emily: You really want to marry me?

Zander: Ok, I know that you think that I’m probably too sudden and that I'm acting on impulse, but I swear to you I love you, Emily. And being apart from you, it only proved to me that I’ll always love you.

Emily: You know what? I never stopped loving you, either. And I tried, but it didn't work. And I guess love doesn't end when you wish it would or you think it should. It's stubborn and it's in my heart, and I can't get it to leave.

Zander: Good.

Emily: I'm going to love you forever.

Zander: I'll take that as a yes.

Dr. Meadows: As long as you keep taking care of yourself, you should have a healthy, full-term baby in November.

Carly: Hmm. Thank you.

[pager beeps]

Dr. Meadows: I got to take this.

Carly: Ok.

Courtney: Come on. Let's get you home and into your own bed. Do you want me to call Sonny?

Carly: No. He's busy.

Courtney: Are you ok?

Carly: Yeah, you know? The baby's healthy, I told Sonny the truth about Ric, the baby's definitely Sonny's, and -- I don't know, I got everything that I wanted, but I can't shake this feeling that Ric’s damage is irrepairable.

Marco: There's no sign of Ric. There's no way to know how long ago he escaped.

Sonny: Faith may know where he's running. Unless Jason silenced her already.

[phone rings]

Jason: What?

Sonny: Is it done?

Jason: It's your call.

Sonny: Don't do it. Lansing got away. We may need Faith.

Jason: You can live if you tell me where Ric Lansing would go to hide.

[knock on door]

Taggert: Ms. Webber? It's lt. Taggert.

Ric: Get rid of him.

Taggert: If you don't open the door, I'm going to think something's wrong and break in.

Ric: Please.

Elizabeth: I'm coming. Ric, the police are the only ones who can save you from Sonny, ok?

Ric: No, no, no, no, no, don't -- don't do this.

Elizabeth: I --

Taggert: Hi.

Elizabeth: Hi.

Taggert: I'm here about your boyfriend, Ric?

Emily: This is the most beautiful -- it's the most romantic thing that has ever happened to me.

Zander: Well, it's just the beginning. I swear to you, I'm going to love you --

Emily: I -- Zander, I want you to be clear, ok, on how much I love you so that you understand that that's not the reason why I can't marry you.

Zander: But you said yes.

Emily: You said yes, ok. Probably because you knew that that's what I wish I could say, if I could. But I can’t.

Zander: Well, yes, you can. You just say the word.

Emily: Zander, I'm not ready to be married, ok? Even to you.

Zander: Well, if it's the drugs, then, you know, we'll wait till after rehab.

Emily: Look, it's not the drugs, it's -- I’m not ready to be married, ok? I'm not ready to think about the future or to try to decide whether we're still going to want to be together when we're 50. All I want right now is just to be with you. Just being happy with what we're feeling in the moment, ok? Every moment. And I know -- I know that you love me. And that's enough for me. Can my love please be enough for you?

Edward: Hey, hey -- where do you think you're going?

Skye: How's Emily?

Alan: Her system's clear of drugs for now.

Edward: So, I hope you're pleased with yourself.

Skye: Well, I'm concerned about Emily as much as you are.

Edward: Emily nearly died from an overdose when she was younger. She conquered that all right and has lived drug-free for the last few years, until you tried to run her out of town and she wound up with a broken back.

Skye: I know what I did was wrong, and I regret it, but that was two years ago, and Emily forgave me.

Edward: Mm-hmm. And the chronic pain that you caused her is why she's back on drugs.

Skye: Is that what you think, too?

A.J.: I know you didn't intend to hurt Emily, but she wouldn't have been on that bus if you hadn't encouraged her to run away, Skye.

Alan: Listen to me. You will be able to make amends some day. But for now, it's best for Emily if you keep your distance. Ok?

Elizabeth: Hey, Lieutenant, I'm sorry. When I heard your voice, my first thought was something bad had happened.

Taggert: You mind?

Elizabeth: No -- no, not at all.

Taggert: So, you -- you haven't heard from Ric since I saw you at Kelly’s, huh?

Elizabeth: No. No, and this is -- this is a little embarrassing. I'm starting to think this was about something else altogether, that Ric and I -- yeah, we had a fight and I blew it out of proportion.

Taggert: Did Ric say that Sonny threatened him?

Elizabeth: You know what? The more I think about it, I'm sure Ric is just avoiding my phone calls, and he probably wants to break up with me and, you know -- and now, I've alerted the police. I'm really -- I'm just stupid. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but thank you for following up.

Taggert: Hey, no problem. That's my job.

Elizabeth: Mm-hmm.

Taggert: You let me know if you hear from Ric, all right?

Elizabeth: Yeah, I -- I will. Thanks.

Elizabeth: Ric?

Ric: Thank you.

Elizabeth: Sit down. So are you going to tell me what happened?

Ric: I got shot. I think it just grazed me.

Elizabeth: Oh, my God. Ok, now, have you thought about what you're going to do? Because other than the police, I can't think of anyone else who's going to protect you from Sonny.

Ric: Then I guess I’m going to have to find a way to protect myself.

Faith: Oh, God. No, no. Please, please, please.

Sonny: You owe your life to Lansing. He managed to get away. So you tell me where he's running, you're free to live.

Faith: That could take a long time. He's smart, he's got money.

Sonny: Well, my advice to you would be to talk fast.

Faith: Mexico -- Cancun.

Sonny: Jason, shoot her.

Faith: No! No. No! No, no --

Sonny: Please, Faith -- my advice to you is -- listen to me. If you lie again, you're a dead woman. If you stall, you're a dead woman. Either you tell me where Ric went or you're just going to have to pay for everything you've done.

Faith: We didn't -- we didn't talk about anything except how to fight you.

Sonny: Not good enough.

Faith: Oh! No, no, no, no!

Sonny: You got 24 hours to remember every word Ric Lansing has ever said to you, to think about what you've done, to save your own life. Marco, stay with her.

Jason: What happened?

Sonny: Paulie's dead. Now I'm going to give you an order. I don't want you to kill Lansing, you understand me?

Jason: Sonny, Ric is dangerous, and we need to take care of him.

Sonny: I agree. He needs to be taken out, no matter what it takes, no matter who I have to deal with. But you're not going to do it. I'm going to kill Ric Lansing myself.

Skye: Well, there you are, right on time, as usual. If punctuality were a trait, you certainly didn't pass it on to me.

Rae: Huh.

Skye: Come to think of it, my father is annoyingly on time, too.

Rae: Well, is that what you felt had to be discussed in person?

Skye: No. No, I'm just pondering the vagaries of genetic code.

Rae: Ah. Well, if I’m supposed to guess where you're going with all of this, I give up. Obviously, you're upset. I heard it in your voice when you called me.

Skye: So you just jumped on the first flight as soon as you heard --

Rae: Yes, I did. So what -- what is it? What's going on?

Skye: I guess you didn't have time to make a hotel reservation or anything. I don't really think there's going to be room for you at the Quartermaines' because we do have a guest -- aunt Tracy. Yes, it seems she's full of information -- about me, daddy, and how I came to be.

Rae: Tracy is a treacherous, self-serving harpy.

Skye: Yeah. Well, so am I. But that doesn't mean that I don't occasionally tell the truth. And I'm sure that Tracy does when it suits her.

Rae: What exactly did she say to you?

[Tracy gasps]

Tracy: Is that Gretel Rae Cornpone? Oh, my goodness gracious. Imagine running into you after all these years. And standing right next to that trash you tried to pass off as a Quartermaine.

Zander: I can't force you to marry me. But you can't force me to take no for an answer, either. So let's just say my offer's on the table. I love you. And I'll marry you the second you say you want to.

Edward: Hey -- hey, get away from my granddaughter and get away from the hospital or I'll have you arrested.

Emily: All right, Grandfather, we've already been through this. Last time, you violated my privacy by barging in on me at home and now you're --

Alan: Last time, you had not O.D.'d with Zander's help.

A.J.: You scared us, Em.

Emily: All right, Zander had nothing to do with what happened.

Edward: He is a plague on your life.

Emily: Oh, Grandfather!

A.J.: Em's been clean for years.

Emily: I'm not using again because of Zander.

Alan: Look, it's obvious that because of Zander -- he put so much pressure on you -- you went to drugs as a release.

Zander: Emily, if I did, I never meant to.

Emily: No, you didn't.

Edward: Look -- look, if you are so devoted to her, you can just go away. Come on. Come on.

Emily: All right -- as usual, my family is completely wrong. Ok, the only thing that you did was to give me a reason to come home.

Elizabeth: What went wrong between you and Sonny?

Ric: I wanted to beat Sonny. I wanted to be able to look him in the face and call him what he is -- a lowlife gangster in an over-priced suit.

Elizabeth: Hey, you're not answering my question. Is this about revenge?

Ric: No, it's about what's -- what's due to me. I should go. I should go. I never meant to get you involved.

Elizabeth: You -- maybe you should check your messages. There's one from me saying "I love you." I didn't even realize it until I thought something had happened to you. But I love you, Ric. And I'm not going to let Sonny kill you. So just tell me -- just tell me what I have to do. Tell me how we fight him.

Ric: We fight Sonny by using his own weaknesses against him.

Carly: You know, I -- I -- I should have had you take me to my mom's --

Courtney: Hey -- hey, Carly, come on. Just sit. Sit. The baby's Sonny's. He knows that you didn't cheat on him. And you told him everything, so you warned him about Ric. Sonny knows how to handle Ric. You know, I'm going to call Kelly’s and tell them I'm not going to be able to make it back.

Carly: No, I want to be alone.

Courtney: Are you sure? I mean, I could stay at least until Sonny gets in.

Carly: No. I'm just going to run a bath and I'm going to relax. I don't believe anything that Ric said I did. I don't believe that I was so hot for him that I wouldn't let him put on a condom.

Courtney: Ric said that? Carly, he's lying. Ok, listen, after I found out what happened, I went on the Internet and I looked it up. There are, like, I don't know, like three date-rape drugs that Fowler could have put in your drink. All three of them are super strong sedatives that -- they don't get you turned on or turn you into some wild sex goddess. They make you pass out and you stay passed out.

Carly: So he took me to that sleazy motel and he laid me out on that bed, and -- and he did God knows what to me. The whole time, I was passed out, cold. He knew, Courtney, he knew that if I was conscious, that I would have fought him.

Courtney: Yeah, well, Ric is a liar and a rapist, Carly. And to make things worse -- I mean, he's trying to get you to blame yourself. Don't do what he wants you to do.

Carly: I know. I know, I know, I know, I know -- I should be happy. I should be so, so grateful that I don't really remember. There's no image in my head of him using me and of -- him forcing himself on me, but I keep picturing it over and over again.

Courtney: Oh, God. Come here.

Jason: We will find Lansing. And when we do, you can finish him.

Sonny: He used her to get to me.

Jason: Yeah, I know.

Sonny: No, no, you don't know. The night The Cellar opened, Carly ran off when she saw me kissing Brenda. Faith sent one of her guys, Fowler, after her. He put something in her drink. Ric showed up, pretended to rescue her. That's all she remembers.

Sonny: He took her to a motel, where he raped her.

Jason: Carly -- Carly told you this today at the hospital?

Sonny: After the amnio. She wanted to make sure that the baby was mine before she told me that lying bastard used her. So, what happened was she woke up naked in a motel bed --

Jason: Oh.

Sonny: Next to him. And he lied, said it was all her fault, that, you know, she was hanging all over him, and he couldn't -- it was impossible for him to turn her down. He's been blackmailing her ever since, threatening her to tell me. You understand what I'm saying? Whew. He's been terrorizing her with the possibility that the baby is his, but she told me today the baby's mine. She told me everything. That lying bastard. Oh, man, I -- I listened to him. I let him hang around. I'll tell you what, though. I'll tell you what. And I'm serious about this. You ready for this? I'm going to make him pay. Ric Lansing will beg for death.

Rae: Now, it was my understanding the Quartermaines completely cut you off. Am I right?

Tracy: You were counting on that. But I'm back. You know what they say about blood. True Quartermaine blood. And do you know what I found when I returned to the nest? The baby you tried to convince everybody was Alan’s.

Rae: My God. You really haven't changed one bit, have you?

Tracy: You have. You have -- look at you. Nary a trace of the trailer trash you used to be -- except, of course, if you count Skye, who is the unfortunate result of your liaison with a -- a garbage man? A truck driver?

Skye: Come on, Mom. Please -- now, this is the part where you're supposed to blow her out of the water and tell her that there's only one man in this whole world who could be my father. And you tell her -- you tell her the whole heartbreaking story of how you and Alan fell madly in love in college and how you wound up pregnant and how cruel-hearted Edward had to tear you apart. Now please, Mom. Please, just this once, come through for me, ok? Tell her Alan Quartermaine is my father.

Emily: Zander didn't get me drugs. The minute he caught me, he blew up. He begged me to tell you. He came up with a plan to get me into rehab.

Alan: You should have told us.

Emily: He told mom when I was in the hospital because he loves me and he knew that if I was doing drugs, keeping it a secret wouldn't help. Zander loves me. And I love him. And I expect you to respect that. I expect you to respect Zander. Now, I would like all of you to apologize to him.

Edward: I will do no such thing.

Emily: Grandfather, you were wrong, and you know it.

A.J.: I jumped to the wrong conclusion. I'm sorry.

Zander: Accepted.

Alan: I'm sorry, too.

Edward: I apologize.

Emily: For what?

Edward: For accusing you of -- of putting her on drugs.

Emily: Mm-hmm, and for calling Zander --

Edward: He is a deviant, he has always been a deviant, and the rotten apple doesn't fall from --

A.J.: Why don't you quit while you're ahead?

Monica: Patients are allowed two visitors at a time. And there is a reason for that. Too many will tire her out, and that's the last thing Emily needs, so would you please say your good nights and go? That means you, too, Zander.

Zander: Ok.

A.J.: You're not going to go through this alone. We love you, all right?

Emily: Ok.

Edward: You know I love you?

Emily: Yes.

Edward: How much?

Emily: A lot.

Edward: More than words can ever describe. I'll see you in the morning.

Zander: I love you.

Emily: I love you, too.

Zander: I'm going to be with you every step of the way, ok? No matter how hard it gets. Come here. No matter how tough it gets. We'll do this together, ok? And I meant every word that I said earlier, too.

Monica: Ok, ok, you can see her in the morning. Please.

Zander: Ok. See you.

Monica: You, too. Come on.

Alan: Not a chance. I know exactly what she's going through. And I'm going to help her get through this.

Jason: Elizabeth, if you're in there, you need to open the door, or I’m going to find another way to open it.

Elizabeth: All right. I'm coming. But you can't come in. Oh.

Jason: Is Ric here?

Elizabeth: No. And you know what? If you don't leave, I'm going to call the police.

Jason: No, you're not. You're not going to call the cops, you're going to tell me where Ric is.

Elizabeth: He hasn't been here.

Jason: Where is he?

Elizabeth: Unless you plan to tie me up and gag me, I'm just going to have to call the police.

Jason: Do you realize you're protecting a rapist?

Carly: Hey. I'm not asleep.

Sonny: Oh.

Sonny: How are you feeling?

Carly: I'm fine. I took a bath.

Sonny: Yeah?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Sorry -- I didn't make it in time to pick you up at the -- at the hospital.

Carly: It's ok. Courtney was with me.

Sonny: Good. Yeah. Ok, Carly, go back to sleep.

Carly: Where are you going?

Sonny: Uh -- I'm going to go downstairs.

Carly: Are you going to sleep down there?

Sonny: Hey, you want me to?

Carly: I want you to be honest with me. When you look at me, do you see Ric?

Sonny: I don't want to think about what that bastard did to you.

Carly: You're thinking about it right now.

Sonny: Uh-uh.

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: It's not your fault. I don't blame you.

Carly: But it doesn't change what happened. Ric raped me, and now you don't -- you don't want anything to do with me.

Rae: Is there a reason why you devoted your entire existence just spewing poison like you did?

Tracy: Oh, now let me see. Didn't I read somewhere that you were a -- a radio advice guru? And isn't that supposed to make you an advocate for the truth? Oh -- silly me, I forgot, you're not really a therapist after all. Just another one of your fairy tales.

Skye: Come on, Mom. Just answer the question. Yes or no, is Alan Quartermaine my father?

Rae: No.

Tracy: This is my account number at bank Suisse.

Tracy: I expect the 5 million to be deposited by end of business day on Friday. It has been a pleasure doing business with you both. Ahem -- tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk.

Skye: I would rather starve than have you hold anything over my head, do you hear me? You go to grand-- you go to Edward, you go to Alan, you go to every television station and newspaper in this country if you think they care. You won't get a dime from me. Do you hear me?

Tracy: You know who you sound like? You sound like her the night I told her to take her grubby little hands off the Quartermaine money and leave town, before I exposed her. She said exactly that. She said she'd never give in. She did. You will, too. Bye-bye.

Rae: I wanted you to have a family, and a -- a father that you could be proud of.

Skye: I'm not interested in your good intentions, Mother. Family that I have come to know and love is no longer mine. I thought I was a Chandler. And now I'm not even a Quartermaine. I've lost them. Well, the truth is I never even had a mother in the first place.

Alan: You watched me fight my own battle with drugs, and you were the only one who stood by me. And I failed you, along with everybody else. This is not your fault. I'm the one who set the example, and you just walked in my footsteps.

Emily: No, Dad, you're wrong, ok? You set a great example because you got clean and you stayed that way, right?

Alan: I'm talking about as a father.

Emily: No -- look, I'm not using drugs because of you -- or Zander or my back injury. It was stupid and I let it get out of control, and now that I’m home, I'm going to be ok. Ok?

Alan: I will love you no matter what. You need to let me help you get through this.

Emily: I love you, and that helps me every day.

Jason: Raping Carly fit in with some plan of Ric’s, and so does dating you. This guy's sick. He's going to do everything he can to take Sonny down. You have to tell me what you know, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: You know, you are so desperate, you think that if you tell me that Ric raped somebody, I'm going to turn on him and help you find him?

Jason: This guy is lying to you.

Elizabeth: No, no!

Jason: Yes. He's sick and he's using you.

Elizabeth: You know what? You're the one who's sick, Jason. You'll use anything, including my own rape, so you can find Ric and kill him. You know what? I have to get back to work, so either you leave, or I'm calling the police.

[Jason sighs]

Jason: Hey. Put a 24-hour tail on Elizabeth Webber. She's helping Ric, and sooner or later, she's going to lead him to us.

Sonny: You know me. I'm jealous and possessive. And I love you. And I know it may be wrong, but I think of you as mine. So when I think about what that filth did to you -- you understand what I'm saying?

Carly: You think I'm dirty.

Sonny: No, I don't think you're dirty. Not at all.

Carly: I was so worried about the baby.

Carly: I wanted it to be yours. And I wanted you to love your child, and I wanted you safe from Ric. I never stopped to think that if I told you the truth, it would change how you looked at me.

Sonny: Don't do that. Don't do that to yourself. Don't take Ric’s evil -- on yourself. I saw my mother getting beaten. I saw how it took away who she was, took away her laughter, her courage. It destroyed who she was on the inside and out. Carly, you are stronger than that. You put up with Lansing for months. He tried to blackmail you. You fought him. You told the truth when it came time to protect me and your family. That's what I see when I look at you. A strong woman who will fight for her children, for me, for yourself. You're not dirty, honey. You are -- you're beautiful. Hey. Listen to me. All right. Come on. You're my whole world, sweetheart. Ok?

Sonny: You all right?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Come here. It's ok.

[phone rings]

Elizabeth: Hello?

Ric: It's me.

Elizabeth: Hi, Linda. Did you get all my messages?

Ric: You're not alone?

Elizabeth: Actually, I'm at work right now. Do you think you can call me later?

Ric: Um -- no, it's ok. I just wanted to let you know I made it to my car. I'll call you back with more instructions if you're still willing to help.

Elizabeth: Yeah, no problem. I'll -- I'll do whatever I can.

Ric: Elizabeth, thank you.

Elizabeth: Bye.

Carly: Sonny -- ahem. Sonny, come back to bed.

Sonny: I'm waiting for word on Ric.

[Sonny sighs]

Sonny: We had him, but he got away. But I don't want you to worry, you know.

Carly: I won’t.

Sonny: He can't get to you or Michael.

Carly: I know.

Sonny: And he will pay.

Carly: I understand.

Sonny: Do you understand, really?

Sonny: Do you understand that what he did to you, how he violated you was about me? He hates me. He blames me for something. I don't know what it is. But I'm going to find out.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Skye: Your startling news is the reason that we're all here today. So go on, Tracy, tell them what you know.

Ric: I'm counting on you, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Happy to do it.

Sonny: What now?

Jason: Elizabeth could be on her way to meet Ric. I'm going after her.

Ric: I can't tell you how glad I am you decided to drop by.
