>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Jax: I love you.

Laura: Everything she said meshes with my memory.

Theresa: So when do I get paid?

Rick: I'll wire the money tonight.

Nikolas: My brother despises me.

Gia: Well, you have me.

Sonny: Kristina, is there anything you wanted to tell me?

Kristina: Not anymore.

[Monitor flatlines]

Alexis: Something's wrong.

Courtney: Hey.

A.J.: Hey.

Courtney: How's your shift?

A.J.: It was loud. I mean, who knew that cranes and forklifts were so damn noisy, huh? Oh.

Courtney: Oh. Sorry. I've -- I've been so busy at work. I haven't had any time to clean up around here.

A.J.: Well, you know what? Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. You spend all night cleaning at the bank. You need to take it easy.

Courtney: Well, I'm a neat freak. What can I say?

A.J.: You can say you're going back to bed. Seriously, you need to take it easy, sweetie. We may not be able to pay for a maid, but we can certainly afford you spending a few extra hours in bed, okay?

Courtney: Well, I'll go to bed if you come with me.

A.J.: Quit that job, will you? Look, we can survive without you working 24/7.

Courtney: Hey, I miss you, too. So I have decided to take tomorrow night off.

A.J.: Really?

Courtney: Mm-hmm.

A.J.: And what's tomorrow night?

Courtney: You, me, some music, candles. We could have a real date and remember all the reasons that we are lucky to be married.

A.J.: I don't need a reminder. I know how lucky I am every time I look at you.

Gia: Any time you want to fly me to Manhattan again like that, you just let me know. Just give me 17 minutes notice. That's how long it takes me to pack.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm. Okay, come on, come on, come on.

Gia: Okay. Lucky? Your model's here. Hey.

Lucky: Hey.

Nikolas and Gia: Hey.

Lucky: What, you guys been out all night?

Gia: Look, just -- just give me 10 minutes, okay? I will be ready to go, I promise.

Lucky: You haven't checked your messages.

Nikolas: What happened?

Jax: Come here.

Skye: No!

[Phone rings]

Jax: Ooh. Saved by the bell, but not for long. Hello?

Edward: Jax?

Jax: Edward. You're up bright and early. No rest for the wicked, huh?

Edward: I'm calling to -- to offer my condolences.

Jax: Well, thank you. But if you're about to break into another grind-you-into-dust speech, you can save your breath.

Edward: No, I'm sorry, I -- I was assuming that you already knew.

Jax: Knew what?

Edward: Kristina Cassadine was killed last night in an explosion.

Alexis: Someone -- someone will be there at 2:00. What? No. She didn't believe in organized religion, so if you could just keep it simple, that would be the best thing. I understand.

[Knock on door]

Alexis: Someone will be there at 2:00. Thank you.

Alexis: Luke. Come on in. I figured there'd be condolence calls, but I didn't think that you would be at the head of the line.

Luke: I'm sorry, Natasha. I wish there was something I could --

Alexis: There's nothing -- nothing you could do, nothing you can say. I mean, I failed to protect my sister.

Luke: What are you saying? That it was your fault?

Alexis: Look, technically, it was Sonny's fault. I mean, he killed her. But she would never have gone anywhere near him if it weren't for me, so, actually, she's dead because of both of us.

Luke: So you don't think there's any chance that Kristina was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? The victim of an accident?

Alexis: No, there's no chance of that. I made choices, and I knew there were consequences and risks, and there were.

Luke: When someone dies in an explosion, the person responsible is the person who planted the bomb. You're going to have pain. There's no way out of that, I guess, but time. You want to go get blind drunk?

Alexis: I'm -- I'm not drinking these days.

Luke: Well, take care of yourself.

Alexis: I will, thank you. For someone who passes himself off as relentlessly self-centered, you've been very supportive.

Luke: I'm very sorry for your loss, but don't let that supportive thing get around, okay?

Alexis: I won’t.

[Knock on door]

Luke: All right, take care of yourself. I'll -- I'll get this.

[Knock]

Luke: Hi, Nik.

Nikolas: Hey, Luke.

Alexis: I tried to call you.

Nikolas: No, no, no -- no, it's okay, it's okay. It's okay. I'm here. I'm here.

[Knock on door]

Gia: Hi.

Lucky: I thought you'd be with Nikolas.

Gia: I wanted to talk to you -- alone.

Lucky: Okay. Well, I mean, if this is about the assignment, I've already canceled the photo shoot. I really think you should be with Nikolas. He just lost his aunt.

Gia: This isn't about you being my photographer, Lucky. This is about you being Nikolas' brother.

Lucky: No. You know what, Gia? I don't think you want to do this right now.

Gia: No -- you know what? Don't -- don't tell me what I want to do. Lucky, Kristina is dead, just like that. You know, I barely knew her, and now I will never get the chance. Neither will Nikolas. Just one more chance for a connection just lost.

Lucky: Nikolas still has you, Gia.

Gia: Nikolas needs his brother. And you need him. Are you so arrogant to think that you will never run out of time? What if a piano falls on your head on your way home tonight? How stupid and selfish will your grudge against Nikolas seem then, huh?

Lucky: Nothing's going to happen to Nikolas.

Gia: Look, you know what? I know Nikolas disappointed you. That's what siblings do. They fight and they drive each other crazy. But then they come through for each other. And that's what Nikolas has been doing for you over and over and over again. Well, you know what? It's time for you to come through for Nikolas.

Jax: Have you seen my day planner?

Skye: Uh -- no. Maybe you left it in the safe.

Jax: No, my day planner.

Skye: Well, you've been awfully distracted since Edward called. Maybe you didn't realize you, you know --

Jax: Oh.

Skye: Oh. Is it in there?

Jax: I'll look for it later. I'll -- I'll check in with you after I see Alexis.

Skye: Yeah. Please give Alexis my sympathy -- and Ned.

Jax: You sure you won't come?

Skye: I really think it's best if I stay here. I'm not exactly Alexis' or Ned’s favorite person.

Jax: Yeah, well -- it won't be that way forever. Once they see the real you -- and how much you mean to me -- oh. I am so happy that you're in my life. See you soon.

Skye: Ooh -- Jax, wait. Found it.

Jax: Wow. I -- I must be distracted.

Skye: Yeah.

[Phone rings]

Skye: Hello?

Edward: Has Jax gone?

Skye: Yes, he just left to see Alexis.

Edward: Good.

Skye: Don't tell me you called to tell Jax Kristina’s dead just to get him out of the house.

Edward: You'll notice it worked. Now's your chance, Skye. Get into that safe and get me that oil map.

Skye: I can't believe you. You would actually use the woman's death to get what you want?

Edward: No, no, no. I am deeply saddened because I liked Kristina. But I learned long ago to take advantage of any opportunity that presented itself. And frankly, my dear, so have you.

Scott: What took you so long?

Rick: Look, I got tied up. Now, I called you back. You never returned my call.

Scott: Well, I'm a little busy, you know. Because of your political maneuvering, I'm now district attorney and knee deep in a mob war.

Rick: Scotty, maybe that is to our advantage. The police are so concerned about Corinthos, they're going to have less time for what's happened in the attic.

Scott: No, they're going to make time, because Theresa’s skull is now missing.

Rick: What? How'd you find that out?

Scott: All right, look -- I'm not going to play this game with you. If you took it, just tell me now.

Rick: Don't take things personally. If the skull is gone, the evidence is gone. And more important than that, Luke and Laura's search for Theresa is already over.

Scott: Now, how is that possible?

Rick: Just trust me.

Scott: No, no, I made that mistake once. I will never make that same mistake again.

Rick: Luke and Laura have already found Theresa.

Scott: Well, that's impossible. We buried her over 20 some odd years ago!

Rick: I arranged it, Scotty.

Scott: Arranged it?

Rick: Yes.

Scott: Your arranging things is --

Laura: Rick?

Rick: Hi, sweetheart.

Laura: Hi.

Rick: Hi.

Laura: Did I interrupt something?

Rick: No.

Scott: Oh, hi, Laura.

Laura: Hi. Oh, I know. He's -- he's filling you in on everything that happened, right? It's okay, Scotty. He already explained everything to me. It's okay. I understand why you did what you did.

Courtney: Wynona.

Wynona: Well, you're here early.

Courtney: Yeah, I have to see Coleman. Is he around? I need to ask him for a favor.

Wynona: Okay, well, that's your first mistake. You don't ask Coleman for a favor, you tell him what you want. Be assertive. Look, you're top draw on your shift. You've got some bargaining power.

Courtney: Be assertive. Got it. I mean, I'll just tell Coleman that I have every right --

Coleman: Tell him what?

Courtney: That I'd like -- that I need tomorrow night off.

Coleman: Oh, forget it, honey. I need you here.

Courtney: I can't be here. So either you give me tomorrow night off, or I'll walk.

A.J.: You shouldn't have.

Mike: Is Courtney around?

A.J.: No, she's out running errands.

Mike: Yeah? Well, look, do me a favor. Will you give this to her? And don't make any plans for tomorrow night. I'm taking you both out to dinner.

A.J.: Whoa, whoa, hey, Mike, I'm sorry, but she wants to spend the evening alone, just the two of us. I'm not sure why, but --

Mike: You don't know? Oh. Tomorrow's Courtney’s birthday.

A.J.: I knew she was up to something.

Mike: What do you mean?

A.J.: Well, she's trying to take tomorrow night off, and she wanted to spend the evening alone together. She wouldn't tell me why. Okay. Two can play the secrets game.

Alexis: I don't really think there's a lot left to do. Ned's been doing pretty much all of it, so he's -- he's going to the funeral home at 2:00, I guess, to finish everything up.

Nikolas: I'm talking about you, Alexis. What can I do for you?

Alexis: Nothing.

Nikolas: Listen, I -- you know, I -- I haven't been doing anything but thinking about myself lately. I want to be here for you. I hadn't seen Kristina in weeks, now, and it's too late. But not for us. Okay? We still have time.

[Knock on door]

Nikolas: Let me -- let me get that.

Nikolas: Hey.

Lucky: Hey. How's Alexis?

Nikolas: Come on in.

Lucky: Hi. I'm sorry.

Alexis: Thank you.

Lucky: Is there anything I can do for you?

Alexis: You two could try to forgive each other. You could try to be nice to each other. At the very least, try to get along. You're brothers, for God's sake. I'll be in my room if you need me.

Nikolas: Thanks for coming.

Lucky: Gia insisted. She gave me this big lecture about missed opportunities and pianos falling on people's heads.

Nikolas: Well, that's Gia for you. She can be a little dramatic at times.

Lucky: But she's got a point. I've been pretty -- I've been pretty angry. Especially after all the times you've just tried to help me. And I'm sorry for that.

Nikolas: No, man, I've -- I've screwed up, too, you know.

Lucky: Yeah, you did. You've been a colossal jerk, but so have I. And I'm sorry for that. We're still brothers.

Nikolas: Life's too short, and nothing's going to change that, right?

Lucky: Yeah. Which -- it doesn't mean that we -- we have to approve of each other, you know? It just means that we're always going to be connected. Anyway, that's -- that's all I really came to say.

Lucky: I'm sorry that you lost Kristina. And as far as we've come, for better or for worse, you have not lost me.

Scott: Laura, I just wanted to protect you.

Laura: I know, but I wish you had just told me the truth, really. I mean, keeping secrets from me only made me more confused and afraid. I had actually convinced myself that someone had died that night.

Rick: Laura, I -- I was just telling Scotty, you know, that you and Luke tracked Theresa down, and she told you the whole story.

Scott: I'm just surprised that you were able to find her.

Laura: Actually, she doesn't live too far from here.

Scott: Really?

Laura: Mm-hmm.

Scott: And she just -- just told you everything?

Laura: No. She was pretty reluctant, but -- and I can certainly understand why. But eventually, she admitted it -- about how I walked in on her and Rick struggling, and -- well, by the time you had gotten there, I was pretty much hysterical, and Rick had to give me a shot to calm me down.

Scott: Well, listen -- well, you know, don't relive it, all right? Let's just forget about it.

Rick: Sweetheart, I agree. What he's trying to say is you've been through it enough times. Just leave it alone and let it stay in the past.

Laura: Well, I think you're both right. And I am looking forward to the future.

[Pager beeps]

Rick: Good. On that positive note, I will leave and see you both later, okay?

Laura: Okay.

Rick: Bye.

Laura: Bye.

Scott: Speak to you later. Are you all right?

Laura: Yeah. Actually, I'm really relieved. I mean, everything that Theresa said matched perfectly with what I remembered -- right down to the camera.

Scott: Camera? What -- what -- what are you talking about?

Laura: Theresa reached to grab something to hit Rick with, and she couldn't remember what it was, but I could. It was one of those old-fashioned cameras. You know, the boxy type. It was so clear in my mind.

Scott: Well -- well, you know -- by the time I got there, I just wanted to get you out of there, you know? Away from the -- everything that was going on.

Laura: I know. You've taken care of me almost my whole life. I don't know what I would have done without you.

Luke: Laura's in the doorway. Rick and Theresa are on the couch over there.

Luke: Laura sees them. She doesn't leave. Instead, she moves closer.

Luke: Theresa sees her. She and Rick struggle. She picks up a camera. She hits Rick with the camera.

Luke: No -- what happened to the camera? Did she drop it? Did she stash it somewhere? What happened to the camera?

Luke: All right. Bingo.

Luke: I'll be damned.

Coleman: For Wynona, this is just a job. For you, it's the only way to keep your husband out of jail.

Courtney: I'm making a lot of money for you, Mr. Coleman. I mean, come on, I'm just asking for one night to spend my birthday with my husband.

Wynona: Girl's got a right to celebrate her birthday, Coleman. And if you don't give her the night off, well, then I might just call in sick myself -- along with all the other girls on my shift. And then you can go out on stage and take your clothes off. Oh -- and we'll see how well that works.

Coleman: Ooh. When did you decide you were Norma Rae with a g-string?

Courtney: Okay, wait. How about I work from 4:00 to 8:00 tomorrow? Okay? Full shift. And them I'm done.

Coleman: I'm not completely heartless. And you've been pulling your weight, so I'm going to compromise this one time. Good?

[Courtney sighs]

Coleman: Oh, and no more pep talks about walkouts. Got it, Norma?

Courtney: Thanks.

Wynona: Yeah, well -- about time you stuck up for yourself. And better get used to it if you're going to survive in this business.

Courtney: I don't want to survive as a stripper. I just want to pay off my debt here, go home to my husband, and forget that any of this ever happened.

Edward: Any luck? I see you're hovering over there by the safe. Were you able to get inside?

Skye: No. No, I wasn't. You know, I might have many talents, Grandfather, but safecracking isn't one of them.

Edward: Cracking a safe -- not that difficult. There must be more than one way. You're wily enough. Why don't you just convince your fiancé to give you the combination, huh?

Skye: Grandfather, I just can't ask him for it. Might get suspicious.

Edward: You wouldn't be stalling me, would you? You know, if you're deluding yourself to believe that Jax still loves you, may I remind you that it's beside the point? You signed a contract, young lady, the terms of which are very clear. Now, once Jax sees it, I would imagine that any feelings he has for you would immediately disappear.

Skye: I highly doubt he's going to want to marry me once he finds out I turned over his family's oil leases to you, either.

Edward: No, you're sure to lose Jax either way. Your choice, though, dear. At least you will get control of E.L.Q. and all that lovely money when I die. That should buy you some consolation. You think about that, my dear.

Jax: Is there anything that I can do?

Alexis: I wish she had never found me.

Jax: Come on, you don't mean that.

Alexis: She'd still be alive.

Jax: But she wouldn't have gotten to know you. There was a reason that Kristina came looking for you. She wanted to know you. She wanted to love you. And nothing could have stopped her.

Alexis: I didn't take good enough care of her.

Jax: Well, then do better now -- for the baby that you're carrying. Kristina thought that you were loving and brilliant and that you deserved to be happy. Prove that she was right. Let that be her legacy.

Alexis: I want her back. I want her back.

Jax: Come here. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

Lucky: Coming. Hey.

Luke: Hey.

Lucky: It's nice to see you, too. Whoa. Where'd you get this?

Luke: I found it. It's been laying around for about two decades. And the amazing thing is --

Lucky: There's film on the inside of this thing.

Luke: Right. Think you can develop it?

Lucky: Well, I don't know. How long has it been exposed for?

Luke: Like I say, I don't know -- 20, 25 years, maybe. Is there any chance?

Lucky: I don't know. Film tends to decay. Emulsion gets a little brittle and cracked, gelatin starts to degrade. It may not.

Luke: Well, will you give it a shot, just in case?

Lucky: Sure. As soon as you tell me what this camera has to do with mom and the Scorpios' attic.

Alexis: Where'd you get this?

Jax: It's in the kitchen. Some herbal tea you had there.

Alexis: This one needs to go back in the box.

Jax: Well, you had, like, 14 different boxes of this stuff.

Alexis: I don't know how I'm going to get through this pregnancy without her.

Jax: Hey. You'll do fine.

Alexis: No, I really don't know that I can do this.

Jax: It's all right. Just let yourself grieve. To do anything else would be to deny the life Kristina lived.

Alexis: Stop sounding so understanding and stop sounding like her.

Jax: Look, grief is an awful thing, a powerful thing. But you're not alone.

Ned: Am I interrupting?

Jax: I'm going to go.

Jax: Hey, is there anything I can do?

Ned: No. Everything's done. We'll call you as soon as we finalize all the arrangements for the service.

Jax: Yeah. You know, maybe you can convince her to get some sleep. You know, the best thing that you two can do for each other is to take care of that baby. I'll see you.

Nikolas: Just for the record, has anyone ever told you that you are extremely pushy?

Gia: A lot of people. But they're wrong. I'm not pushy; I'm assertive, especially about things that I care about. Like you.

Nikolas: Lucky came to see me. But you already knew that, considering that you arranged it.

Gia: I was only honest with him, that's it. So?

Nikolas: So we had our first conversation in months. Admitted that we were brothers, for whatever -- for whatever that's worth.

Gia: Good. Maybe it'll make things a little easier.

Nikolas: Come here. I just want to thank you for realizing how important this is to me and for not listening when I claimed that I didn't care about Lucky. Okay?

Gia: I've been pitching for reconciliation for months. And nothing -- nothing I tried worked. You know what I think?

Nikolas: What's that?

Gia: I think this is your last present from your Aunt Kristina.

Lucky: All right, Dad. I really do need to know what's going on, because I'll tell you what I know. There's something going on in that attic that's got Mom distracted. She's not -- she's not concentrating on work, she stopped worrying about the wedding. And on top of that, there was a fire in there that I don't even want to think about what could have happened to Lulu.

Luke: Yeah. Well, it's -- complicated.

Lucky: So what's going on?

Luke: Well, it's like this -- when your mother was a teenager, Rick Webber had an affair. The woman was real trouble, sort of a fatal attraction, and she caused all kinds of problems for the family. Laura walked in on their breakup. It was a fight. The woman's name was Theresa Carter. She got violent and started to attack Rick.

Lucky: Really? How bad was it?

Luke: Bad enough that your mother got hysterical. Rick gave her a shot to sedate her. Now all of this has been buried, but it's starting to come back and cause Laura real problems, so we're trying to put it behind us. We found Theresa Carter and we questioned her, and everything she told us jelled perfectly with what your mother remembers.

Lucky: I guess I'm not getting the problem.

Luke: The problem for me, son, is that it's too damn convenient. It's all real -- I don't know. It's just tight and -- you see, all the answers that Theresa Carter gave us were perfect. They just put an end to all other questions. It was like she'd been coached. I'm smelling a cover-up here.

Lucky: So where does the camera come in?

Luke: Well, Theresa Carter said she couldn't remember what she hit Rick with, but Laura remembered it being a camera. So I went over to the attic and, sure enough, I found that.

Lucky: You're looking for some photos to see if it can resolve the questions that --

Luke: That's right. Maybe we'll get lucky, Lucky.

Laura: Scotty? What are you doing up here?

A.J.: Yes, that's right, pink roses. And I'd like the cake to read "Happy Birthday, Courtney." Hey, you know what? Never mind. Just cover the whole thing with pink roses. I'll give her the message myself. Yes, that's right, that's for tomorrow. Yes, thank you very much. Bye. Hey.

[Courtney giggles]

A.J.: What's in the bag?

Courtney: Oh, just everything I need for the incredible dinner I'm making for you tomorrow night.

A.J.: Mm-hmm.

Courtney: No fair snooping.

A.J.: Yes, ma'am.

Courtney: Okay? You will find out tomorrow night, as soon as I get home from work.

A.J.: Wait -- whoa. They wouldn't even give you the night off?

Courtney: No, they did. I'm just going to go in early. I'll be home by 8:00. We'll have the whole night to celebrate.

A.J.: Celebrate what?

Courtney: How much we love each other.

A.J.: I celebrate that every day of my life.

Courtney: Me, too. I'm the happiest I've ever been in my entire life right now, right here with you.

A.J.: Me, too.

Skye: Hey.

Jax: Hey.

Skye: How's Alexis?

Jax: Not good.

Skye: Well, she knows you care. That must help.

Jax: Yeah. Don't tell me you actually went out exercising?

Skye: Oh -- yeah, I went for a walk. Sometimes it helps me clear my head.

Jax: Was it anything you want to talk about?

Skye: No. Just thinking about missed chances, you know. Things I wished I'd done differently. Things that come up when you hear about such an unexpected, untimely death.

Jax: Right.

Skye: Jax, I want you to know what a miracle you are to me. And I'm going to cherish every single day that we have together for however long we last.

Scott: I just came up here to look around, do a little thinking. What are you doing here? You -- you got a wedding to plan.

Laura: I do.

Scott: Well -- no, wait. You should be working on "I don't," instead of "I do."

Laura: Why did you come up here, Scotty?

Scott: How -- how did you know I was up here?

Laura: I just drove down the street on a whim, and I saw your car parked outside.

Scott: I -- I -- you know what? Laura, I -- I figured that I had to let go of a few things. I mean, you did it. I thought I should to it, too.

Laura: Why is this still so upsetting for you?

Scott: Because I lied to you.

Laura: You lied to me?

Scott: Yeah. I was coming here to meet you, and upon the stairs, I could hear you up here crying and yelling, so I came up, and you were hysterical, and I didn't know what to do. Rick did. He gave you that shot, and I just held your hand and said, "It’s going to be okay." And then the next day, I lied to you. I've been lying to you. It came up recently -- lying again, and I -- I just should never have listened to Rick.

Laura: I think Rick was trying to protect me, Scotty. And I know you were, too.

Scott: Rick was trying to protect his reputation. If I could do it all over again, I would do things completely different.

Laura: I've lost count of all the things that I would do differently. But, Scotty, I know you. And I know that your intentions towards me have always been good. And you're right -- I wish that Rick hadn't shot me up with drugs. I wish that he had the guts to tell me the truth and face whatever consequences there would be. But you know what? None of us are perfect. I guess he did the best he could. I know you did. I'll always be grateful to you.

Lucky: So these first three -- it looks like they're just so badly decomposed. There's no image. Let me see. Fourth one is blurry. And let's see. Oh, wait a minute. Look.

Luke: What do you got?

Lucky: Look at that.

Luke: Oh, all right. Hang on. Damn!

Lucky: What? You know that guy?

Luke: Yeah, and so do you.

Lucky: Who is it?

Luke: That's Scott Baldwin. It looks like he's been in the rain. Unless I miss my guess, that's blood on his shirt.

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Lucky: What are you doing? You looking for something?

Elizabeth: What are you doing here?

Jax: I don't think this is really the right place for you.

Sonny: Alexis invited me.

Ned: That doesn't mean you have to come here.

Nikolas: Get out, all of you.

Felicia: Let's not make a big scene.

Alexis: Thank you for helping me commemorate my sister's murder.
