General Hospital Transcript Thursday 11/15/01 >> Previously on "General Hospital" -- Janine: Monica's given me $100,000. How much are you going to pay me to stick around? Kristina: I think I have a way to fix all this. Carly: Sonny is my husband. I don't want to feel like I am constantly on trial. Alexis: I can be alone. Sonny: I know, but not tonight. Monica: I can't imagine what it is that you would drag me out here when it's freezing, I haven't even had a cup of coffee. What's going on? Alan: I want to speak to you in private. Monica: Well, we can speak privately where it's warmer. Alan: Monica, this battle with Skye has got to end. Someone is going to get badly hurt. Monica: Is that it? Okay. Consider it done. Alan: What do you mean? You have no problem with that? Monica: No. No, I don't, not anymore. The fight is officially over. Can I go in now? Alan: No, not yet. That was too easy. Monica: Okay, okay. Look, I know you are bound and determined to have a father-daughter relationship with Skye. I know that you want to love her. Alan: I do love her. She deserves it, and so do I. Monica: Well, let's not go into what Skye deserves at the moment. Suffice it to say I took care of everything last night. Alan: What did you do? Monica: Well, I -- I paid Janine what's-her-name $100,000 to stay away from Edward. It was very neat. There were no complications. And it means that Skye cannot hurt Edward anymore or anyone else in this family. Okay? Skye: Back from the dead and gone again in one lifetime. Sort of like here today, gone tomorrow and the day after that. A.J.: Is that accurate technically? I mean, does that only count as one lifetime or two? Monica: Speaking of gone, Skye, I'm rather surprised you're still here. Skye: Looking for something to chew up and spit out, Monica? Why don't you try a croissant instead? Monica: No, thank you. Skye: Oh, and as far as our mutual friend Janine is concerned, it looks like she had a change of heart about leaving town. Monica: Since when? Skye: Apparently, she can't bear the thought of leaving Edward Sweet Cheeks. Edward: Oh, no. Kristina: Good morning. Ned: Good morning. So, what's it like out there? Kristina: It's cold and crisp. Ned: Good running weather. Kristina: Are you going running? Ned: Is that so impossible to believe? Kristina: I have been here for what seems like weeks, and I have never seen you get out of bed this early. Ned: Well, maybe you're having a positive influence on me. Kristina: On my last day here? Ned: From now on, I guess you'll have to inspire Alexis. Kristina: Do you think? Ned: If you can get your big sister up before 10:00 in the morning, then you'll be the first person in history who can do it. Except Sonny, of course. Kristina: What does Sonny Corinthos have to do with getting Alexis out of bed early? Ned: Well, when he gets arrested at night, he likes her to be at the police station first thing in the morning. Kristina: Oh, right. Ned: Excuse me. Kristina: You know, I think it bothers you that Alexis works for him. Ned: Actually, a lot of things in my life bother me. Some I can change, and some I just have to learn to live with. Kristina: Like moi? Ned: That's true, actually. When you move in with Alexis, my life will be able to get back to normal. My furniture will be where it belongs. All of my letters and my mail will be exactly where I expect them to be -- Kristina: Okay, I get the picture. Ned: But on the other hand, I won't have someone trying to improve my character -- Kristina: Oh, I have never said that your character is lacking. Ned: Reminding me of all of my little faults -- Kristina: I just said that you could be more forgiving towards your family. Ned: And setting a very good example of running five miles every morning before breakfast. It's impressive. Kristina: You know, I think I should go running with you. You might hurt yourself, Ned. Ned: That's true, actually. I'm running with Jax, and I'm sure if I collapse, he'll just sprint off and leave me in the dust. Kristina: Pace yourself. Bye. Ned: By the way, on the whole, I've had worse houseguests. Kristina: Oh, really? Like who? Ned: Let me get back to you on that one. Alexis' voice: Don't look at him. Just concentrate on what you came down here for. Go get the paper. Alexis' voice: I said don't look at him. You got the paper. Now just move on. Wait a minute. I can look at him if I want. I mean, if I can't look at him, that implies there's something going on, which there isn’t. There. See? I can just stand here and look at him all morning, or I could go make coffee, which would be unfair, considering how nice he's been to me. It would be cruel to offer him a cup of my coffee. Alexis and Sonny: Oh! A.J.: What did you say, Grandfather? Huh? I don't know. I thought I heard, what, a choking sound. Edward: Leave it alone, A.J. A.J.: Oh, then it was you. Well, come on, speak up. Funny. Usually we can't keep you quiet, especially when it comes to me, how I'm a disgrace to the family, I've let everyone down, what a drunken loser I am. You know what? This -- this must be what it feels like to kick a guy when he's down. I'll tell you what, Skye -- I could sure get used to this. Now I understand, Grandfather, why you're so quick to insult me all the time. Yep. Edward: You're really feeling persecuted, aren't you, A.J.? Well, you know, you've earned it. You angered Sonny Corinthos by falsely accusing Carly of murder, and then you ended up signing all of your rights away to Michael. Well, congratulations, son. You are at least consistent. You only make two kinds of choices -- bad and worse. A.J.: At least my bad choices are behind me. Yours, on the other hand, are present and accounted for. Monica: This is all beside the point right now. Skye, I want you to prove to me that Janine welched on my agreement. Skye: Call her yourself. She's exactly where you left her last night, except now that poor, heartsick woman is $250,000 richer. Edward: I thought you had handled this. Monica: So did I. Edward: You know what, folks? This is an unmitigated disaster. It's a nightmare, and -- and I just can't seem to wake up. Alan, this Skye is your daughter, and she is blackmailing your own father. Now, stop her, for God's sake. Alan: You know, for a man who sold my daughter at birth and then proceeded to tell me that she was dead, for a man who has cheated on my mother for all these years, you have got yourself one hell of a nerve asking me to take your side. Edward: Oh, so that's your excuse -- you don't like the way you were parented? Well, who does? Can you not let go of the past ever? Alan: My entire life would have been different if I would have known about Skye, but you manipulated the situation for your own ends. You took away my choices, my opportunities. Monica: So what does that mean -- that you'd be married to Rae Cummings right now? Alan: That is not at all what I meant. Skye: This is all getting a little off the point, isn't it? Let's get back to the matter at hand, shall we? Edward, all you have to do is hand over your E.L.Q. shares and this whole Janine affair will disappear without a word. Skye: Was it something I said? Ned: By the way, I found something of yours this morning. Good catch. So, was that the card you palmed to make sure you lost that bet with Stefan last night? Very smooth, by the way. Houdini would have been proud. Jax: I have no idea what you're talking about. Ned: We both know you fixed the whole thing. I don't hear a denial. Jax: Hey, why would I lose millions of dollars? Ned: To make sure Kristina and Alexis were taken care of for the rest of their life? Jax: Maybe I'm just a terrible card player. Ned: And maybe you're just one of the last truly noble men who just can't stand seeing women get hurt. Jax: So what do you say, we run eight miles this morning instead of six? Ned: Sounds good. But before we go, we have to figure out what we're going to do about Alexis. Sonny: Alexis. Alexis: I'm sorry -- Sonny: It's all right. Alexis: That I startled you. Sonny: No. Hey, it's instinct, you know? I wake up in a strange place, and I come up fighting. Alexis: Yeah. You know, your covers slipped off is all, and I was just trying to fix them. I'm sorry. It was intrusive. Sonny: No, it wasn't you. It's an old habit I just can't seem to break, you know? Alexis' voice: What are you doing? Sonny: What are you doing? Alexis' voice: I don't know -- acting like an idiot. I'm an idiot. Sonny: Are you okay? Alexis: I'm fine. Sonny: Did I -- you -- did I hurt you? Alexis: No. No, not at all. Alexis' voice: Just move away, and I'll feel much better, I promise. Sonny: Well, why don't you go ahead and sit down, and you'll feel much better, I promise. Alexis' voice: Don't touch me. Sonny: Can I get you something? Alexis' voice: A good therapist? A glass of water? My mouth is dry. Sonny: Water? Alexis: Scones. Sonny: Scones? What -- Alexis: Yeah, I have scones. Sonny: You mean the little round muffin things? Alexis: Yes. Scones. I have scones. I have scones in my refrigerator. Sonny: You've got a -- did anybody ever tell you you're, like, a little bit jumpy? Carly: Hey, Alexis, I was -- Carly: You snake. You slithering, pathetic, desperate excuse for a human being. You may come off as some hotshot attorney, but that law degree cannot hide what you are, which is a cheap, two-timing tramp who's after another woman's husband because you can't get one of your own. Alexis: I'm sorry. Carly: You're sorry, all right. If you ever come within two feet of Sonny again, I will claw your eyes out. You got that, Counselor? Alexis: Got it. You're right. Absolutely. Everything you just said. I'm sorry that I came anywhere near your husband. This is me. I'm backing off. I'm not going to think about him. I'm not going to see him. Cross my heart. Sonny, I can't be your attorney anymore. There. Done. Sonny: I don't know what I ever saw in you, why I let you get so close. How could I be so blind? Carly? Forgive me? Alexis: Carly, before you start yelling and throwing things, let me explain. This is completely innocent. He did spend the night. He spent the night because he was worried about me after everything that I had been through. He was just being a very good friend. He slept on the couch. Carly: You know what? You don't have to explain. It's -- it's none of my business. I shouldn't have barged in without knocking. Actually, Alexis, I did. I came to see you. I'm sure that Sonny told you that I signed the divorce papers. Alexis: Actually, he forgot to mention that. Carly: Well, I just thought that you should know I've decided to let Sonny adopt Michael. It's best for everybody and especially Michael. So I'll have my attorney draft something, and you can review it. And Sonny can fill in the details and -- you know what? Whenever he gets around to signing those divorce papers is fine. I'm not in any hurry or anything. I can't worry about it. I've got to get my own life back on track. And the first thing is I'm going to get Deception back. Sonny: How are you going to do that? Carly: The smart way, Sonny, just like you taught me -- with someone else's money. You know Lucien Cain, right? Yeah, he's backing me. Alexis: Oh, Carly, Lucien Cain doesn't exist. He never has. Carly: Alexis, please don't start messing with me right now. Alexis: I'm not, Carly. I'm trying to help you. Lucien Cain was really Stavros Cassadine. Stavros Cassadine is dead. He was a very dangerous man. You're very lucky. He could have killed you. Jax: If I didn't know you better, I'd think you were trying to tell me what to do. Ned: Nothing you haven't thought of doing yourself. Jax: Oh, yeah. But I don't have to do anything. Well, except to, you know, pay my taxes and then eventually die, which we don't have a choice about anyway. Ned: You seem to always go out of your way to help your friends, and I know Alexis is one of them. Jax: Well, if you think this is so crucial, then why are you here with me and not over at Alexis' apartment trying to convince her that Sonny Corinthos is poison to every woman he comes in contact with? You'd certainly have truth on your side. Ned: Because I have been down that path many, many times before and her response is always the same -- "Ned, mind your own business." Jax: I know you, Ned, and I know Alexis. I've seen you together, and I've seen you apart. I know how you feel about her. Ned: Felt. Jax: No, no, no, no. Feelings like that just don't go away. They don't disappear overnight. But you're not responsible for Alexis unless she asks you to be. So here's some more unwelcome advice -- you're going to have to listen to her. Ned: No. You were there last night. You saw it. You know Sonny. He has to control everything and everyone in his life, especially the people on his payroll. We cannot let Alexis be another one of his casualties. Come on, Jax. Jax: I've already spoken to Alexis about this, okay? She made it clear that she's responsible for her own life. And I've made a promise to myself -- never get between a woman and her obsession. And I intend to keep that promise. Let's go, come on. Monica: You thoughtless gold digger. Skye: Now, you wait a minute -- Monica: Why did you come here? Nobody wanted you. You weren't missed at all. I told you, Alan, if she came into this family, she'd tear it apart, and I was right. You didn't listen to me, but I hope to hell you're listening now. I can't be in the same room with that woman. Skye: I'm sorry, but you promised that you wouldn't interfere. Alan: I have only one question for the two of you -- are you sure you want to go through with this? A.J.: How can you ask that? Alan: How could I not? Look what's happening to us. A.J.: Look, Grandfather started this. And so did Sonny. Now, how am I supposed to get my self-respect back if I let him get away with what he did to me? Well, come on, Dad, tell me. You were once on my side -- at least I thought you were. Skye: A.J.'s right. Sonny has to be punished. A.J.: So, yes, we're ready to go through with it. Alan: What Sonny did to you was wrong, but what you are planning on doing isn't much better. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need five minutes alone with your sister. A.J.: Sure. Alan: If Father won't transfer his shares, what will you do? Skye: He will. Alan: But what if he won't? What will you do? Skye: Have to tell Lila. He knows that. It's his choice. Alan: Well, why prolong the agony? Let's get it over with. Alan: Mother, Skye has something to tell you. Lila: What is it, dear? Edward: Morning, young lady. Kristina: Good morning. Edward: Whatever it is you're doing, you have to stop now because you have to make good on a promise. Kristina: A promise? Edward: Mm-hmm. The situation has gone from merely uncomfortable to completely intolerable. Kristina: Okay. Well, slow down and tell me what happened. Edward: I tell you, she is a viper from hell, and my daughter, Tracy, whom you don't even know, has more compassion than she does. See, you -- you promised that you would help me find a solution to my dilemma with Janine. Mm-hmm. And so far, nothing seems to have happened. And while you've been dilly-dallying, Skye is on the verge of breaking my wife's heart. Kristina: Right, so Janine is the woman who fell in love with you? Edward: Is there another? My God, I'm hanging by my fingernails, and you have to do something, young lady. You have to help me before it's too late. Kristina: Well, frankly, Ed, I think that the simplest solution would be to tell your wife the truth before someone else does. Lila: Go ahead, dear. You can tell me anything. Skye: I -- I wanted to thank you. That's all. For being so open and accepting of me and for making me feel like so much a part of the family. I love you for that. I just wanted you to know. Lila: Thank you, Skye, dear. Thank you. We must all learn to be more compassionate these days. Alan, dear, I think Reginald is waiting for me in the hall. Alan: Oh, of course, Mother. Skye: How could you be so sure that I just wouldn't tell her everything? Alan: Because I know who you are. Deep inside, I know who you are, and it is not the person you're trying to pass off to the rest of this family. Skye: Yeah. Well, you know, I could still tell her everything if Grandfather forces my hand. Alan: You and I both know better. You'd like to make people think that you're a combination of Attila the Hun and Adam Chandler, but we both know you don't have it in you to hurt your grandmother by telling her that she is married to a selfish jerk, do you? Skye: No. I don’t. Ned: You said it yourself earlier -- obsession. Okay, if Alexis is truly obsessed, then we, as her friends, need to do something about it. We need to step in and take charge. Jax: We can't force Alexis to do anything. But if you think she needs to be strong-armed, then you're on your own, pal. Ned: Come on. She'll just think I'm doing it because I'm jealous. She won't believe that I'm doing it for her own good. Look, look, look, look -- Jax, you helped defeat the Cassadines. That's done. You put Helena behind bars. That's done. Kristina is safe. You have nothing else on your plate right now. Jax: Excuse me; I do manage my own assets. That does take a little bit of time. Ned: But that's not your real job, and you know it. Jax: Oh, okay. Then what is my real job, Ned? Ned: Chivalry, for lack of a better word. Jax: What is this, feudal England? Ned: No. It's present-day Port Charles. You just happen to be one of those people who just can't stand seeing damsels in distress. Any woman. It doesn't matter. It's like a bad habit you can't seem to break. Jax: Look -- I'm not going to desert Alexis if she gets in too deep. But right now, I can't go messing with her life when she's not asking me to. I just can't do that, Ned. Ned: Okay. You think about it because something has to be done. Jax: Thanks for the run. Alexis: Carly, you were not the only person that Stavros deceived. He's been walking around for months posing as Lucien Cain. It -- you're just very fortunate, you and Michael. Both of you, you're very Lucky. Carly: You know, I always thought there was something about him. Sonny: Damn it, Carly. How could you get involved with a killer? You exposed Michael to him. I mean, how could you do that? Carly: You're right. It's my fault, my stupidity. As usual, dumb old me. Sonny: So, what are you going to do now? Carly: I'll be fine. Don't even worry about me. You know, I found one investor. I'm sure I'll find another. Hey, I'll probably have 10 of them lined up by dinnertime. So, better get my fanny in gear. Sonny: Where you going? Carly: Why? Sonny: Why? Because we got some stuff we got to work out, and I don't want you to go out there and get in any more trouble. Carly: I'm telling you, I am fine. Really, I -- hey. Sonny, you know I can take care of myself. You taught me how. Sonny: Where you going? Carly, where you -- Carly? Edward: Have you lost your senses? The truth is not an option here. No, no, no. Telling Lila is -- is out of the question. Kristina: Well, I just thought that it might be a place to start, you know. I mean, sometimes the truth can set you free. Edward: Well, not when it breaks my wife's heart. Kristina: Okay, well, you could tell Janine to go get lost. Edward: And hurt poor Janine’s feelings? Oh, no, no. That little girl is -- she's mad about me. You might as well ask me to cut off an arm or a leg. Kristina: With all due respect, Edward, how can you possibly believe that Janine has genuine feelings for you, I mean, especially with the way that she's been going about all of this? Edward: Well, I know that -- that the age difference is glaring, unseemly, perhaps. But, you see, some women find my kind of maturity, experience, my innate sense of self-confidence just overwhelming. Kristina: The woman took $100,000 from Monica, and then she turned right around and took double that from Skye. I mean, to me, it doesn't sound like passion. It sounds like an auction. It's just not the behavior of a woman who's in love. I mean, it sounds like greed. Edward: Well, do you -- do you think I've been misled? Inveigled? What? Kristina: I think, yeah, you've been inveigled. I think you've been bamboozled. Edward: Oh. Well, that -- that changes the picture dramatically, doesn't it? It changes everything. Now, listen -- this was not my fault. None of this -- none of this was my doing. No. Kristina: Edward, I don't think that you're exactly blameless in this situation. I mean, you did get drunk. You did end up in her bed. Okay, look, I think that I might have a way to find out if Janine genuinely loves you and maybe even put an end to her blackmailing you. Edward: Oh. If you do, just tell me, please, dear, because everything depends on it. Kristina: Well, are you willing to listen to me? Will you do exactly what I tell you to? Edward: Well, sure, as long as it gets me out of this. Kristina: Okay. Listen up, then. All right? A.J.: Morning, Ned. Hey, that's a great outfit, huh? Out for a little jog, huh? Beautiful day for it. Ned: All right, cut to the chase. What are you after? A.J.: I'm in a good mood. Crime in that? Ned: Well, actually, in your case, that usually follows some sort of crime. A.J.: Funny. No, not this time, Ned. A whole lot of changes going on around this house. Long overdue, I might add. Ned: I'm afraid to ask, especially if those changes put you in a good mood. A.J.: Let's just say I will no longer be the whipping boy in this family. Ned: Oh. Don't tell me you finally got a job doing something that this family might actually respect. A.J.: God, no. No, Ned. I'm just doing what the rest of the family does -- exercising raw, unadulterated power. Feels pretty good, too. Ned: Could you be a little more specific? A.J.: For the first time since I can remember, thanks to Skye and Janine, I have Grandfather on the short end of the stick. He's seeing me through a whole different perspective. Yep. I'm in charge. Ned: If you think breaking Grandmother's heart is power, you are sicker than I thought. A.J.: Whoa. This has nothing to do with Grandmother. This is all about Grandfather, about using his sins against him, Ned. He's done it to me for how long now? Turnabout is fair play. Ned: You're pathetic. You're pathetic, and you're a hypocrite. You whine about doing this for Michael? Well, that's bull. Michael is gone, and you know it. You are doing this to get back at Grandfather no matter who it might hurt. Skye: What's that look for? Alan: Don't you recognize it? Well, maybe I'm a little out of practice. It's pride, Skye. Can't a guy be proud of his daughter? Skye: Oh, I wouldn't mind. Alan: I was so scared you were going to become the worst kind of Quartermaine, that you would turn into my father and then one day you would be irredeemable. And then all of a sudden it hit me -- or rather, you showed me -- I had nothing to worry about. Skye: I wish I had as much faith in me as you do. Alan: You should. Skye: You know, I'm -- I'm kind of at a tricky place in my program right now. I guess it's making me face things that I especially don't want to, you know? Things that -- things that scare me. Things like myself. Facing that big, dark thing that goes "roar" right in here, you know? It talks to me. It pulls at me. It tells me that it's -- it's never satisfied, it's never enough. It wants more and more and just doesn't really matter how destructive. Alan: You need to listen to me, Skye. That thing is inside you, but your mother is inside you, as well. And you need to listen to her. She speaks to your soul. You need to value yourself. Skye: You really loved my mother, didn't you? Alan: It's not really a good idea to stare in a rearview mirror for too long. Objects tend to become smaller. You don't have anything to worry about, Skye. You don't have to prove yourself to anybody. Skye: Easy enough to say. Alan: Well, maybe I can more than just say it. Skye: What do you mean? Alan: Why don't you gather up the family, and I'll tell everybody at the same time. Skye: Okay. Wait right here. Sonny: Johnny? Yes. Listen, do me a favor. Find Carly, follow her, keep an eye on her. Yeah. Thanks. Alexis: Who was that woman? She looked remarkably like Carly. The Carly I know would have grabbed me by the throat, throttled me, and then asked questions. Sonny: Don't ask me. The longer I know Carly, the less I understand her. Alexis: Oh, she is a challenge, I'll give you that. What's up? I need to know as your attorney. Sonny: I asked Carly to move back in with me. Alexis: Why? Sonny: Well, because I figured if we're together, we could work things out, you know? You can't fix things if you're in different places. Alexis: You're in the middle of divorce proceedings. Sonny: So? Alexis: Well, that's not usually what happens, in my experience. Sonny: You ever want to reach out and grab somebody and just shake them to find out what's going on inside their head? Alexis: Occasionally. Usually it's me. Sonny: Yeah? Same with me. Now, you tell me, why can't I understand my wife? Alexis: I don't know. Why don't you want to sign the divorce papers? Jax: Yes. All corporate properties that we've acquired recently. Yes, that includes capital and real estate. Everything is to be transferred back to the Cassadines by the end of business today. I know. Just get it done, please. Thanks. Carly: What, does he think I'm made of stone? I'm not going to have a reaction? I'm human, aren't I? God, I -- [Splash] Jax: What the hell's going on? Monica: Your daughter said you wanted to see me. Alan: Yes. Monica: Well, I'm here. Alan: Let's just wait for everybody else. Ned: It's all for Michael, isn't it? Any stupid, destructive stunt you pull can be justified he name of your kid. A.J.: Well, at least I'm willing to fight for my kid, Ned. What about you? When is the last time you even saw Brooke Lynn? Ned: Last week, actually. I flew down to the City, spent a couple days with her, took her to the park. We had a great time. Thanks for asking. She knows that I love her. She also knows that her mother loves her. And more importantly, we know not to involve her in our problems. Now, listen to me, Junior. Listen to me. Michael is a child. Don't use him as an excuse. A.J.: I am not using Michael. Ned: Then why are you blackmailing Grandfather? A.J.: You have no idea what you're talking about. Ned: Just tell me. Tell me the truth. A.J.: It's none of your business. Skye: Sorry to interrupt, but Alan wants to see the two of you in the den immediately. A.J.: Skye says you want to have a family meeting? Ned: What now? Alan: Well, I've come to a decision. Several, actually. The infighting in this family is going to stop. From now on, compassion, sensitivity, and loyalty will prevail. Ned: Are you on drugs again? Monica: What exactly do you mean by "compassion"? And please don't tell me it's referring to Skye. Alan: That's exactly what it's referring to. The bickering in this house is going to stop. Ned: Now, I'm all in favor of that concept, but what has inspired this sudden shift in agenda? Alan: I had a revelation, shall I say. And I've decided to give my E.L.Q. stock to Skye to do with whatever she wishes in order to get Sonny Corinthos out of this family. Monica: You are on drugs. Alan: I'm doing the right thing. Ned: You are doing exactly the wrong thing, Alan, as usual. Alan: I know exactly what I'm doing, Ned. Monica: Yes, selling us down the river. That's what you're doing. You're not leaving. No, you come back here. You can't just walk out with that sort of statement. What are you doing? [Knock on door] Edward: Hello, Sugar Dove. Well, your prayers have been answered. Sweet Cheeks has arrived. Sonny: Why didn't I sign the papers? Who knows? Maybe I didn't want to risk screwing things up by throwing so much away. I, you know -- this is important to me. Alexis: So you're blaming yourself? Sonny: It's my -- it's my marriage. Carly's my wife. How did I get so far away from what I wanted? Did I expect too much? Too little? Tell me. Alexis: No. Sonny: You know what? I'm -- I'm just going to -- I'm going to go back with Carly. That's what I got to do. Alexis: No, don’t. Carly: Jax. Exactly the man I'm looking for. Jax: Probably going to regret this, but why are you looking for me? Carly: Well, you're a major league financial type, entrepreneur, right? I need money to get Deception back. Jax: And you thought of me? Carly: Well, not right away. I had an investor, but it sort of fell through, kind of. Jax: So, what's really going on? Carly: Nothing. Look, nothing. You know what? I am through with the past, Jax. I am through with it. I am through with Sonny and our lives together, and I -- I'm through with the whole thing. Jax: You won't get an argument from me. Carly: You know, I'd be a fool, right? I'd be a fool to keep chasing after him. Damn him! Damn him and damn me for being such a damn -- I am such a fool! You know, when am I going to learn? I am so sick and tired of always being wrong. What have I done? Why is my damn life so hard? What have I done to deserve this? Jax: Carly -- Carly: I -- I don't know. I'm not doing it anymore. I'm not taking it. I'm not taking anybody's crap anymore. Jax: It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. It's okay. Come here. Come here. It's okay. |
