>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Monica: A check for a $100,000.

Skye: Hold it right there.

Stefan: Alexis and I have a sister.

Alexis: Here's to a new era of Cassadines. May the curse of darkness be lifted forever.

Lucky: Love can conquer all.

Laura: I love you.

Lucky: I love you, too.

Carly: I can't settle for less.

Sonny: What do you want?

Carly: What you can't give.

Sonny: Oh.

Leticia: I'm going to get you!

Sonny: Go ahead and put it up, will you?

Man: You got it.

Sonny: About right.

[Michael makes plane noises]

Carly: All right, hey, hey, hey, Michael. All right, you know what, honey? It's time for you to go to bed, okay?

Leticia: Come on, kiddo, let's go.

Michael: Will you be here in the morning, Uncle Sonny?

Sonny: Uh -- well, you know what? I'm not sure, but you can call me anytime you need to.

Michael: Mommy doesn't mind if you stay, right, Mommy?

Carly: Okay, well, you're pushing it now, aren't you? You just spent three days with him in Martinique. Now scoot, and I will give you a kiss good night upstairs.

Michael: Okay.

Carly: Okay.

Michael: I hope you stay.

Sonny: All right, all right. Thanks.

Leticia: Good night.

Sonny: Good night.

Carly: Hey, I meant it when I said I wanted you to adopt Michael. I know it's going to be weird to some people, but, you know, if anything happens to me, I want him to be with you.

Sonny: Well, he can be with me all the time if you guys move back into the penthouse. I mean, we could, you know, try to make things different.

Monica: A check for a $100,000. Now, how does that sound?

Skye: Hold it right there.

Monica: Well, Skye, for once your timing is perfect. Janine has to go. She has seen fit to take pity on Edward and realizes that he is an elderly man, and he doesn't always do things in his own best interest.

Skye: How much did she offer you?

Janine: 100,000.

Monica: How much would it take to get you to leave with her?

Skye: Well, now, that you lost --

Monica: Hey, hey, hey --

Skye: Hey, come on!

Monica: No, you dont.

Janine: No! Come on! It's mine!

[Screams]

Alexis: Thank you for keeping my sister safe. It kept me sane knowing that you were looking out for her.

Ned: I'm glad I could help.

Kristina: Come on, you reunited me with my long-lost family and helped save all of their lives along the way.

Jax: No, they would have done fine without me.

Kristina: How are you going to follow that, Jax?

Jax: Well, you know, I'm thinking about taking a planeload of friends over to Monaco to see if our luck carries over to the gaming tables.

Stefan: Before you go off jet-setting, Mr. Jacks, there is the matter of the Cassadine assets you siphoned off to antagonize Helena.

Alexis: Every one of those companies, Jax acquired in a fair deal.

Stefan: Well, I looked the other way, Alexis, because I knew he was putting pressure on Helena, and he knows it.

Nikolas: So what are you suggesting?

Stefan: That he sell back all the companies at his cost.

Alexis: You can't ask him to do that.

Stefan: Why not?

Jax: I have a much better idea -- kind of like bringing Monaco here. We draw cards. High card wins -- everything I took from Cassadine Enterprises.

Bobbie: So, Luke seems to be completely recovered.

Tony: Yeah. I'd still like to see him tomorrow if I could, though.

Bobbie: Well, you know, it's highly unlikely that he's going to come by the hospital, but if you wouldn't mind swinging by the club.

Tony: Okay. You know, but now I want to welcome my son home, though. I'll see you in a bit.

Bobbie: Okay.

Scott: Hi, Bobbie.

Bobbie: Hey, Scott.

Scott: This is my new pal, Duke.

Bobbie: Hi.

Scott: Duke, this is Bobbie.

Bobbie: Duke, huh?

Scott: Duke's part of my plan to get Laura into my way of thinking. I mean, how can you go wrong with a pony, huh?

Laura: How's the party?

Luke: I don't know. I came up the back way. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.

Laura: Actually, I was feeling a little bit shaky, but after everything we've been through, I think being a little shaky's probably normal.

Luke: Well, I've never been much of an authority on normal.

Laura: Lucky and Lulu are downstairs. Why did you come up the back way?

Bobbie: Well, anyone who would rent a pony to impress the woman he loves can't be bad.

Scott: Oh, not to mention --

Bobbie: Oh. Thank you.

Scott: Clowns. See? Everything's possible.

Bobbie: I want the good possibilities to win.

Scott: Well, they have, you know? Stavros is where he belongs, and Helenas in jail.

Bobbie: I wish you could promise that she'll stay there.

Scott: Ah, she's going to sing-sing for the rest of her life. You see, Bobbie, I think, this whole mess -- we've learned what's important. I know what's important to me. If I have to go up against your brother to win, I will. I mean, I've got a pony. I've got clowns. What's he got?

Serena: It is a pony! Yes!

Lesley Lu: And clowns!

Lesley: My gosh.

Gail: Oh, my -- would you --

Serena: Oh, my goodness. Can we ride him?

Scott: Oh, I don't know, sweetie. I dropped you on your head once. I don't want you to fall off.

Serena: Oh, Dad! Come on!

Scott: All right, all right. Yeah, you guys can ride him.

Serena: What's his name?

Scott: Duke. Duke, say hello to Serena and the kids and everything.

Lesley Lu: Hi, Duke.

Serena: What's a pony doing here?

Scott: What do you mean what's he doing here? You're the one that told me -- you and the pony and the clowns are all on the guest list here. Oh, look at that, see? Clowns think of everything.

Lucas: So how much does it cost to rent clowns and a horse?

Scott: Oh, well, let's see now -- see, the clowns, they got themselves into a little hot water, and I was able to get them out of jail. I mean, nothing serious. They were just clowning around. But the horse -- big money. Big money for the horse.

Lesley Lu: Wait till Mommy sees this.

Scott: By the way, where is your mother?

Luke: I just wanted to make sure you were okay.

Laura: You just saw me. You knew I was okay.

Luke: All right. Well, the truth is there's something I want to hear you say.

Laura: What?

Luke: My three favorite words. Well, now, look, I know that you probably don't want to say them in front of people, so when I saw the light on up here, I figured it was you, and I thought maybe I'd give you a chance to say it in private.

Laura: And what exactly were you right about?

Luke: Well, that you kept saying you couldn't pull this off, and I knew you could. I -- I didn't do anything weird or stupid -- too stupid -- when I was delirious, you know, like wear polyester jumpsuits or sing Abba songs or something I can't apologize for, did I?

Laura: It's okay. I think everybody knew that it was the drug that Helena gave you.

Luke: Oh, man.

Laura: But you were right.

Luke: Oh, I love those words.

Laura: I know you do. You may not have known what decade it was, but, you know, you kept telling me that I could do it. I couldn't have done it, though, without you. But I could have done it a lot faster, though, if you had been just a little bit clearer about your clues.

Luke: What did I say?

Laura: "The answer's in your past."

Luke: My past or your past?

Laura: Mine, mine. But you've got to admit, that's a pretty lame clue, don't you think?

Luke: Yeah.

Laura: Yeah. So I actually came up here and I was desperately looking through all our old stuff, through the bag and everything, hoping that something would jog my memory, and -- you know what I found?

Luke: Our letters.

Luke: I can't believe you kept these.

Carly: I feel good about what I said in Martinique. You know, I don't want to move back into the penthouse under the vague promise that if I don't make you mad for the next five years, then you might decide to trust me and really commit to loving me.

Sonny: Why do you do that?

Carly: Do what? Speak the truth?

Sonny: No, no -- rearrange all the words so you hear something completely different from what I said. I'm trying here, but, you know -- but I cannot just pretend the last six months didn't happen. I take a step forward, you take a step back.

Carly: Okay, and what do you call it when you tell me you love me one day and the next day you demand a divorce. Don't make it sound like I am the only one moving back and forth.

Sonny: You know who I am. You know this isn't easy for me. I do realize that this is not what you want, but it's the only thing I can do. I mean, I try to, you know, come up with a solution, but nothing's ever good enough.

Carly: And everything I come up with, you can't do.

Sonny: I'm happy that you're okay. If there's anything you need, call me.

Man: I need to talk to you outside.

Carly: Is everything okay?

Sonny: Yeah.

Carly: All right, I will proceed on those adoption papers.

Sonny: Will you let me know if there's anything that I can do?

Carly: Okay.

Sonny: All right.

Man: We just got a call from Johnny.

Sonny: What happened to Alexis?

Man: You aren't going to like it.

Sonny: How come I hate it already? Come on.

Jax: What do you say? One hand, high cards win, all or nothing.

Stefan: If I lose, what do you collect?

Jax: How about Wyndemere?

Stefan: Well, that would be Nikolas' decision. You willing to let it go?

Nikolas: Ahem. Well, Uncle, I've never been very fond of that place.

Stefan: Are you certain?

Nikolas: Oh, I'm positive, yes.

Stefan: You're on, Mr. Jacks.

Jax: Ned, you got a deck of cards?

Ned: Yes, I do. Right here.

Monica: Well, I should have known you would resort to wrestling when your limited intelligence gave out.

Skye: Unlike you who just whips out her checkbook every time she wants to bribe someone.

Monica: I meant what I said. How much will it take to get you to leave your father and my family alone?

Skye: Well, now you're putting a price on a father-daughter relationship?

Monica: Ultimately, Skye, you are going to break Alans heart. And in truth, I will pay just about anything to get you to leave Port Charles and to save Alan this heartache.

Skye: You expect me to believe that this campaign against me is rising up out of your love and concern for my father? Oh, please, you hate me because I'm a constant in-your-face reminder of my mother. Oh, it's painfully clear that my father had deep feelings for my mother. And now that he knows what it's like to be tied to a harpy for so long, I'm sure that Rae looks even that much better in comparison.

Monica: I'll say good-bye to sweet cheeks for you.

Janine: Okay, lay a finger on me, and I'm just going to call hotel security.

Skye: I don't think you're going to want to do that, see, because I'm about to make you an offer you can't refuse.

Ned: Stefan?

Stefan: So if my card is higher, you allow Cassadine Enterprises to repurchase, at your price, the holdings you pirated.

Jax: If my card is higher, I get to keep Spoon Island and Wyndemere and also the holdings that I bought from Cassadine Enterprises.

Jax: I'll sign the papers in the morning.

Ned: Congratulations.

[Stefan laughs]

Gia: Do rich people usually do business like this? I mean, is this common and us not-rich people just don't know about it?

Nikolas: Well, it's not very common for Uncle Stefan, but it is quite routine for Mr. Jacks.

Gia: Well, lucky for your family.

Nikolas: Thank you, Jax.

Jax: Oh, that was fun.

Nikolas: Well, that's about enough high-stakes entertainment for me. Gia and I are going to cut out. We promised my mother that we would go swing by there, so --

Alexis: You all right? You're going to be all right?

Nikolas: Ask me in a week. Hmm?

Alexis: I love you.

Nikolas: I love you. You know that. All right. You know, Kristina -- ahem -- I think if I said welcome to the family, I might scare you just a little bit, so what I will say is welcome, and I do look forward to getting to know you, okay?

Kristina: Same here.

Nikolas: All right.

Kristina: Bye.

Nikolas: See you. Uncle, I have not apologized for everything I've done.

Stefan: Oh, no, no, no. Please. No apology is necessary. I'll call you tomorrow.

Nikolas: All right. Okay. That's fair. I love you, too. You know that, right?

Stefan: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas: Okay. All right, see you guys.

Alexis: Bye.

Nikolas: Thanks, Ned.

Gia: Bye.

Alexis: First of all, the fact that you would turn back any of those holdings to Cassadine Enterprises is crazy.

Jax: Well, it's not about money and you know it.

Alexis: Oh, yeah, sure, it's about the thrill. Second of all, you tanked that game for Kristina and me, didn't you?

Jax: No. It's just that you attorneys are naturally suspicious.

[Knock on door]

Jax: It comes from hanging out with the wrong sort of people.

Alexis: Yeah.

Ned: By all means, come in.

Lucky: Well, for a while, it seemed like the good guys were going to lose until they could figure out a way to make things better.

Serena: What happened to the monsters?

Lucky: What happened to the monsters?

Serena: Mm-hmm.

Lucky: Well, all the good guys and the nice people got together, and they said, "Well, you know, we got to protect the children." And so they worked together and, one by one, they fought off all the monsters.

Lucas: Like Luke Skywalker.

Lucky: [As Darth Vader] I'm Darth Vader. You are my son.

Lucas: You're not my father!

[Laughter]

Lucky: [Normal voice] So in the very end, all the monsters were defeated, and all the good guys and the children could live --

Serena: Happily ever after.

Lucky: Very -- right!

All: Yay!

[Cheers]

Tony: Say, we have to start for home.

Serena: Oh, come on, let's go.

Lucas: Well, am I going to school tomorrow?

Tony: Absolutely.

Lucas: Ah --

Tony: Come on.

Scott: Hey, hey, it was a good story.

Lucky: Yeah, right. Thanks for the help.

Scott: Hey, listen, where's your mother?

Luke: "Gone for supplies. Be right back." Why did you save this?

Laura: I think -- oh, I think it was -- it's a reminder of when we were looking for the left-handed boy.

Luke: Oh.

Laura: I don't know. I think the day I remember the most was the day that you were supposed to marry Jennifer Smith. Scotty punched you in the face, and you fell into the harbor, and we ran off together.

Luke: Yeah. Ooh-ooh. Jennifer Smith. I remember another girl.

Laura: Who?

Luke: The most courageous one I ever met. You were always there helping me, even when I told you not to, especially when I told you not to. But I'm glad you did.

Laura: Yeah, but that, you know, that was when I was -- I was the girl that you had to save -- you know? -- And usually from something that you told me not to get into.

Luke: I don't think you were the girl I always had to save. I pretty much knew you had the guts and the smarts to get yourself out of anything.

Laura: Yeah, but you always saved me.

Luke: But it wasn't because you always needed saving. It was because I always needed to save you.

Scott: Laura? You up here?

Laura: Yeah.

Scott: Spencer. Laura.

Luke: Baldwin.

Scott: How's it going?

Laura: Fine. How's the party?

Scott: Um -- oh, it's okay. The pony's behaving himself. None of the kids are falling off. However, I think one of the clowns might be liquored up. So, I'm going to go down and try and sober him up. See you down there.

Luke: Okay, well, I got to go, you know? I've got whatever's left of the rest of my life stretching out in front of me. By the way, in case you haven't seen the mail, I guess we're officially divorced.

Laura: No, I hadn't seen it.

Luke: It's there. I'll go say good night to Lulu and Lucky.

Laura: Luke? So what are you going to do now?

Luke: I don't know. I'm not good at much. Maybe politics.

Bobbie: Hey, Scott. What are you doing, leaving?

Scott: You know me. I come and go like the wind, Bobbie.

Bobbie: Oh.

Nikolas: Bobbie.

Bobbie: Hey.

Nikolas: Was that really what I thought it was?

Bobbie: Yes, it -- you know what? The party's still inside, and I got to -- excuse me.

Nikolas: Let's go.

Lucky: Yeah, yeah, I'll be right there. I just want to try Elizabeth again. Hey.

Nikolas: Hey.

Gia: You still haven't heard from Elizabeth?

Lucky: No. Not yet. Is there any word on your father?

Nikolas: No. I wouldn't blame the police if they didn't believe us.

Lucky: Well, if you'd like me to go help you look for him, I'd be more than happy to do that.

Nikolas: No, no, no. Not tonight, Lucky.

Lucky: All right.

Nikolas: So tell me, how did you break Helenas hold anyway, hmm?

Lucky: Well, that was Elizabeth, actually. I was upstairs in the attic and I started having a conversation with her. You know, in my head. She basically told me -- follow the truth. You know, like, all along in my heart, I always thought that Helena could win, that I wasn't going to be able to beat her. But then I started thinking, well, what if that was a lie? What if I could win?

Nikolas: I've got to tell you -- when I heard you say that the Ice Princess was just a rock and you told Helena how pathetic she was, I knew we were going to win. Besides, then I get my little brother back, right? Hmm?

Mike: I'm sorry, Carly, but sometimes you just don't make any sense. Do you have any idea what it cost Sonny to ask you to move back in and try to make things work again? But Sonny -- Sonny is giving you a second chance. I mean, if he's asked you to move back into the penthouse, that's as close to forgiveness as you're ever going to get with him.

Carly: Look, Sonny is my husband. I don't want to feel like I am constantly on trial with him, that if I do well, then I'll get to stay, and if I don't, I am out of there.

Mike: But you can't expect him to accept you with no questions asked. Sonny carries betrayal. You knew that. Look, I -- I have done things -- things that I have never told Sonny, and I probably never will because I don't want to lose him.

Carly: Like what?

Mike: I'm not telling you, either. Honey, honey, honey, honey, the point is that once you screw up with Sonny, he redraws the boundaries in your relationship, and it can take you years to get those back.

Carly: Look, Mike, you're his father, and you know what? You can live the rest of your life like that, but I don't want to.

Sonny: You all right?

Alexis: Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. How's Johnny?

Sonny: Johnny? He's fine. What happened?

Alexis: It wasn't his fault, all right? He was outnumbered, so he didn't stand a chance.

Sonny: All right.

Ned: Oh, yes, the much-feared Sonny Corinthos' strongmen. Great at breaking kneecaps, lousy at protecting women who are unfortunate enough to know you.

Alexis: Ned?

Jax: You know, Corinthos, you've checked on Alexis. She's fine, so -- you can leave now.

Kristina: So you are the famous Sonny Corinthos. I have heard all sorts of vague things about you. By the way, Max, the bodyguard, he was excellent, I must say. Hi, I'm Kristina. Nice to meet you. So, what is it that you do that requires you to always have a bodyguard?

Sonny: I'm in coffee importing.

Ned: Organized crime.

Jax: Yeah, racketeering, extortion, you know, that sort of thing.

Ned: And leading impressionable kids into a life of crime. But the fun's over, Sonny. Alexis is safe. So maybe you can touch base with her some other time, okay?

Sonny: Alexis, you want a ride out of here?

Alexis: Yes, actually, I would. I'm tired. I would like to go home. Pack your things. We're going.

Kristina: Actually, all of my things are scattered all over the place, so if it's okay with Ned, I'm going to stay here one more night, okay?

Jax: You know, Kristina, why don't you go with Alexis tonight? I'm sure she doesn't want to be alone.

Kristina: Alexis can call me if she needs anything.

Alexis: I'm fine. I can be alone. I can do that. Thank you, thank you. Thank you. Okay.

Kristina: I'll see you tomorrow?

Alexis: Mm-hmm.

Carly: Mike, you're killing yourself trying to get Sonny's approval. And it's okay for you. You're his father. It's a sacred bond. But I've watched Sonny dump all over you, and I have watched you walk on egg shells, scared to death that you're going to lose your ground that you've fought so hard for because you haven't been perfect and you've done things that don't stand up to Sonny's hard-and-fast rules. And you know what? I have, too, so I understand why you want to keep things from him. But I don't want to, mike.

Mike: Look, Carly, you're making it sound as if Sonny never loved you or he never worked hard to give you a good life or make you happy.

Carly: Oh, no, don't get me wrong. Dont. I love Sonny and I'm pretty sure that I always will. But something's wrong. Something's broken inside of him. He can love with all his heart, but he cannot forgive, so that means every time there's a mistake, you could lose him. Look, I don't want to hide things from him, and I don't want to pretend to be someone I'm not. And I'm not going to live a life where I'm constantly looking for his approval. I won't do it. It's nuts. Hey. Come here. Come here.

Carly: It's all right.

Skye: See, now, you never actually slept with Edward, so your taking Monicas $100,000 is what we like to call fraud.

Janine: Ah, but what you want to do with me is not fraud? Okay, here's the deal. Monica's given me $100,000 that I'm going to keep. The question is, how much are you going to pay me to stick around, to keep messing with Eddie sweet cheeks' head?

Skye: Well, I underestimated you.

Janine: Mm-hmm. Don't worry about it, though, slim. You spend 10 hours a day running a roulette table, you learn a thing or two about human nature. So, how does a quarter million sound to you?

Luke: You know, boys, after the way the two of you handled yourselves during this recent underground unpleasantness, I think it's only fair to warn you that if you keep this kind of behavior up, you could actually make something of yourselves.

Nikolas: Thanks.

Luke: Love to stay.

Nikolas: Uh-huh.

Luke: But I got to go.

Nikolas: All right.

Luke: See you.

Nikolas: See you.

Luke: Bye-bye.

Laura: Bye.

Laura: Oh, I love you both so much.

Nikolas and Lucky: We love you, too.

Laura: Oh. Have you ever seen two cuter guys?

Nikolas: Ah, no, no, no.

Laura: Has everybody else gone home?

Nikolas: You know, it looks like we missed a great party. But I have one question. Why was there a pony out in front?

Laura: Everybody keeps mentioning the pony.

Kristina: Man. When Sonny Corinthos walked through that door, you could cut the testosterone level with a knife. Whoo. Is he really a gangster? Well, Alexis is his attorney, right?

Ned: Yeah.

Kristina: So is there something more than an attorney-client relationship going on there?

Ned: You know, it's been nice having you as a guest, but I'm exhausted. I'm going to bed. See you in the morning. And by the way, don't bother cleaning up. Maid's coming tomorrow.

Alexis: Please, whatever you do, don't blame Johnny for anything because it wasn't his fault. He would have defended me with his life. He was outnumbered.

Max: It's clear.

Alexis: You see? It's clear. I'm safe. No, no, really. Thanks for everything. You can stand down. At ease, soldier. You have delivered me safely home. I'm serious. I'm fine. You can go.

Sonny: I don't think so.

Skye: I thought you'd never get home.

Nikolas: Bye-bye.

Nikolas: So, you want to go to a club and hang out?

Gia: No. I've been hanging out with people all day.

Nikolas: So you're saying that you, I don't know, want to be alone?

Gia: No. I definitely want to be with someone tonight.

Gia: Okay, I'm going to count to five, and if we're not out of here --

Nikolas: We're gone. Let's go.

Lucky: Does Dad seem okay?

Laura: Yes. I think he's going to be just fine. You know, it may have been Helenas intention to tear us all apart, but I think she did just the opposite.

Lucky: You think she'd learn by now.

Laura: Yeah. You'd think, wouldn't you?

Lucky: Yeah.

Laura: I'm just glad that all the people I love are safe.

Lucky: Well, night, mom.

Laura: Night, honey. Drive safely.

Lucky: You know, I can stay.

Laura: I'm fine. I'm not scared, really. If I am, I'll call you. I promise.

Lucky: Okay. Well, I'll tell you what. I'll stop by here tomorrow and I'll pick up that surprise the horse left for you in the front yard. Okay?

Laura: Thanks.

Lucky: All right.

Laura: Bye.

Lucky: Bye.

Scott: Laura.

Luke: Here you go. Drinks.

Mike: Could you hit me again, Luke, please?

Luke: Certainly, my friend.

Luke: Evening. What can I get for you, darling?

Janine: Oh, Long Island iced tea, please.

Luke: Okay.

Janine: Mike?

Mike: Janine?

Singer: I been sleeping all alone I want to kiss you whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa-whoa-whoa whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa-whoa-whoa 'cause I miss you

Laura: Scotty, I didn't know you were still here.

Scott: Uh -- I was -- I was out back paying Duke's handler.

Laura: Duke?

Scott: The pony.

Laura: Oh, right.

Scott: I'll -- I'll get out of your hair. Hey -- I'm sorry I surprised you guys upstairs.

Laura: That's okay, really. It was fine. It's just -- the divorce papers came through.

Scott: Yeah, I know. I'd forgot with everything that was going on and everything.

Laura: It's all right. Luke knew it was coming. So did I.

Scott: How are you dealing with the divorce?

Laura: It's a little new.

Scott: Yeah. Yeah. Um -- I -- I could stay here tonight. Serena's with Lee and Gail. I mean, on the couch here so that you're safe.

Laura: I'm not scared. I'm okay, really. Are you okay?

Scott: Will you marry me?

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Gia: All I want is you.

Melissa: I think something else is going on.

Skye: I can make it worth your while.

Luke: Give me your best shot.

Laura: It's gorgeous.

Scott: I love you.

Laura: I love you, too.

Sonny: You and me, we got a connection.
