By Amanda Kristina: So whatever you feel comfortable telling him is okay with me. Alexis: Kristina is my client. Ned: Your client? Well, that makes sense. Your job description does include hiding clients. Alexis: She is a material witness in an old murder case that involves some well-placed local people, and she needs to keep a low profile. Okay. Would you mind if I had a moment alone with her? Ned: Take a minute. Take all night. Be my guest. Kristina: Why didn't you tell him the truth? Alexis: I have no idea. It wasn't even a conscious decision. I just opened my mouth and lied to his face. Kristina: Well, what are you saying, I'm not safe with Ned? Alexis: No, it's just the opposite. He's -- he's a protector by nature. He's a very good man. He's kind and -- and funny and gentle and strong, and he's a bit of a challenge, but, I mean, who isn't? It's probably a good thing. He's the finest man that I've ever known. We had a relationship. Kristina: What happened? Alexis: I have no idea. It was me. It was me. I -- felt like I had to give up control, I guess. Kristina: Control? Control of what? Alexis: I have no idea. I don't -- Kristina, you need to know one thing about me. I'm highly neurotic. Kristina: That's okay. Alexis: The point is, is I don't want him dragged into this and I want you safe. Kristina: Well, look on the bright side. Most people don't even know I exist. Alexis: And that's a good thing. I would like to keep it that way for your own protection. [Knock on door] Alexis: I'll get it. Are you insane? Jax: I know I'm late. I'm so sorry. How's the Tunisian fugitive? Kristina: Actually, I'm thinking of changing it to Albania. It sounds more intriguing. Jax: Ah. Alexis: Excuse us. Jax: Oh, excuse us. Alexis: What in the world -- you bring my sister to my ex-fiancé's house? What were you thinking? Why would you bring Ned into this? Nikolas: Gia, I am not doing anything to Elizabeth except taking her away so we can be together. Gia: Why? Nikolas: Do you not get this? Are you intentionally trying to make me hurt you because it makes you feel better? Fine, if that's what you want, I am in love with Elizabeth. I just want you to stop interfering. That's it. Gia: Will you stop lying? It's too late, okay? I already know how this little getaway of yours is supposed to end. Nikolas: Then tell me how you think it's going to end. Tell me what you think you know. [Footsteps] Laura: I'm sorry. Elizabeth: It's okay. Laura: I didn't mean to startle you. Elizabeth: No, it's okay. I've just been a little on edge lately. Laura: I know. Nikolas told me that Helena wants to dispose of you. He came to me. He wanted my help. Elizabeth: Oh. Nikolas said he made arrangements. He didn't give me details. Gia was there. I didn't expect him to involve you. Laura: I know that you want to help Lucky. I know that you would do anything. But if ever there were a time to reconsider, it is now. Laura: I want you to know that you are risking your life. If you take too much of that, even by a little bit -- Elizabeth: Helena gets her wish. Laura: Yes. When Nikolas told me that this is how Helena wants him to prove his loyalty, he said that he finally understood what it meant to be a Cassadine. I think you're about to find out what it means to be a Spencer. Lucky: Whoa! Jeez! Roy: What -- what the hell -- Lucky: Is that -- Roy: Look -- Lucky: Is -- Roy: Hold on. Just hold on. We're going to get him out. You hold on. Luke: Ow. Lucky: Is he okay? Melissa: I think he's going to be okay. Luke: Oh, man. You try to catch a couple of winks around here, what happens. Oh. Lucky: Oh, thank God. Luke: Hey. Lucky: I thought you were dead. I thought that -- Luke: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Roy: Yeah, yeah, no, it's so good to see you, man. Luke: Yeah? Roy: Yeah, where the hell you been, anyway? Luke: Oh, I don't -- I don't know. I'm not sure. Wait a minute. Let's just wait till the ground stops moving. Melissa: You know something -- I don't think moving around is a great idea right now. Luke: No, I'm okay, really. I'm just a little hung-over, I guess. Yeah. All right. Okay, let's hustle. Roy: Yeah, no, no, no. Hold on. No rush here. We got no rush. We can just gather ourselves here. Whatever we have to do next, it can wait. Luke: Nothing can wait. What are you talking about? We've got that whole shipment we've got to get out of the warehouse before Frank finds out about the double-cross. Roy: Frank? Luke: Yeah, Frank. Roy: Frank. Frank who? Luke: Frank Smith. You haven't forgotten what we're doing here, have you? Roy: No, I -- what are we doing here? Luke: Hey, look, are you getting cold feet? It was just yesterday you said to me you were ready for the big time. Roy: No, I'm good, man. There's nothing -- there's nothing wrong with my feet. Now, you've been cooped up in here for a while. Do you know what day it is, man? Luke: Sunday. Thursday. Look, what does that matter? Look, we've got a shipment of hot stereo equipment at the warehouse. We got to move it before some do-gooder finds out, tells Frank about it, and we're dead meat! Don't you understand? Roy: What year is it? Luke: It's 1979, Roy. It's -- any more stupid questions? Luke: What's with all these questions? Roy: No, no pressure. Just you seem a little confused, maybe. Luke: Why, because it's really Wednesday? What are you talking about? Roy: It's 2001. Luke: What's 2001? "The Space Odyssey"? What are you -- Roy: No, the year. This is -- this is 2001. Luke: Oh, this is -- this is 2001? Roy: Yeah. [Luke laughs] Luke: Yeah, well, that makes Frank one real old spud. What is he now, about 95? Lucky: Why would you think that Frank was back? Luke: "Back"? What are you talking about, "back"? He never went anywhere. Look, I've been running from a couple of his furballs, and they came around here, and I ducked in here to -- to get out of the way. I guess I dozed off. But don't try to tell me I slept for 20 years. [Luke laughs] Roy: Luke, we found a couple of your drawings. There was a man in a coffin. Who was the body supposed to be? Luke: I think I'm supposed to know this. You. You know. Don't you know? Lucky: No. No, I don't. Roy: Come on, Lucky. Come on, man. If you know anything, we've got to know what it is. We need to know what he was trying to say with those drawings. We need to know what Helena did to him to flip the calendar like this. Alexis: I just want to know what you were thinking, bringing Kristina here. Jax: This is the one place where you and I can come without alerting Helena. There's no reason for her to be suspicious and even less chance to find out about Kristina. Alexis: But you didn't think to ask me. Jax: Well, you know, you could've asked me before you went to Sonny for help. One of his thugs was guarding Kristina. I mean, what were you thinking? Did your judgment completely go out the window? Ned: Are Jax and Alexis playing nicely together? Kristina: I think they'll go about three rounds. Ned: My money's on Alexis. Kristina: So, you seem to know her pretty well. Ned: As well as she allows herself to be known. Kristina: Tell me everything. Ned: Everything? Kristina: Mm-hmm. Ned: Well, that might take a little while. Kristina: So, maybe they'll go 10 rounds. Come on, start talking. Ned: If I do, you have to tell me who you really are. Alexis: My judgment is unimpaired -- on this particular issue. I can't say the same thing for you. You bring my long-lost sister to move in with my ex-fiancé? What were you thinking? You didn't even consult me? Jax: Well, I would have if I thought for a second that you were thinking clearly. Alexis: Excuse me? Ned: She's smart, first of all. Very smart. Stubborn, determined. Fiery when she needs to be. Fiercely loyal. Controlling. In fact, she insists on it. Stubborn. Hardheaded. Did I mention stubborn? Jax: First you tell Stefan about Kristina. Then you turn her safety over to a bodyguard hired by the local crime lord who gets people shot or blown up or just maimed, if they're lucky. Ned: And outside of one or two glaring exceptions, she's a terrific judge of character. Kristina: Well, most of this I pretty much know already or can tell or can guess, but what is Alexis like as a person? Alexis: You want to play knight in shining armor, go find your own damn missing relative to protect. Ned: Well, like I said, she's smart, loyal, and stubborn. She's also classy, funny, sexy, achingly beautiful. She's actually one of the most amazing women I've ever met. She just needs a good kick in the -- right direction every once in a while. Alexis: I know you care about me and I know that you have the best of intentions, but you can't tell me who to trust. You don't understand my relationship with Stefan. It's complicated. You know what -- it's just like your relationship with Jerry. And as far as Sonny is concerned, I'm sympathetic to the fact that you dislike him, but I don't happen to feel the same way. Jax: And what about Ned? Alexis: I don't think that you should ask him to do me any favors. He'll resent it. Ned: I'm happy to do this for Alexis, even though I know she'll resent it. Kristina: So, what happened between you two? Ned: I -- how does this fall under the attorney/client relationship? Kristina: Oh, it doesn't. I guess I'm just nosy. Kristina: You loved her. Ned: Yes. Kristina: Do you still? Ned: Did you guys kiss and make up? Kristina: I'm staying. Alexis: We're leaving. Kristina: Oh, I swear, Alexis, if I have to move again, I'm going to go insane. I'm going to -- I'm going to shave my head and run naked through the streets screaming who I am at the top of my lungs. Ned: All of a sudden, that Lithuania story sounds plausible. Kristina: Look, Ned asked who I was hiding from, and I told him any further thing he wanted to know about me, he had to go through you. So I think that now is a very good time for Jax and I to go take a little walk. Jax: Okay. Kristina: Come on. Thank you. What is going on with those two? Jax: No one really knows, least of all them. You know, but you're probably right. Best thing to do is just leave them to it. Ned: Honey, where do you find these people? Now, obviously you and this self-styled Tunisian fugitive are in some kind of trouble. If I can help, why not? Alexis: No, see, the better question is why? Ned: Sit. Alexis: Ned, I don't think -- Ned: Sit! Okay. I realize that you've had a pretty rough time of it lately. Are you okay? Alexis: Sure. I'm good, great. Best friend's dead. Brother's being accused of it. He didn't do it. And then, in the "timing is everything" category, I'm starting to understand things about myself and my past, us, and what we were and what we're not. Ned: We still are some things, you know. Alexis: Please don't be nice to me, Ned. You'll provoke self-hatred. Ned: Do you realize it's been almost one year since you dumped -- Alexis: Oh -- Ned: Excuse me -- left me standing at the altar? And you'd think that I would be over you by now, but I just can't bring myself to leap off that bridge because I know there's something more in there. A lot more. And I'm hoping you will one day allow yourself to let it out. Alexis: Why can't anything be simple? Ned: I don't know. Why can't it? Nikolas: So let's hear it, Gia. Tell me what you think you know about Helena and me and what it has to do with Elizabeth. Gia: Well, I know Helena doesn't like her, so she won't want you and Elizabeth together any more than she wanted you with me. Nikolas: I told Helena that I would do anything I would or could to take care of Elizabeth, and that's what I intend to do. Gia: And that's what I'm afraid of. Nikolas: What does that mean? Gia: Well, look at -- look at what you had Helena do to Lucky just to get Elizabeth in the first place. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, you let your family turn you into a completely different person. You're not the man that I loved. Not anymore. Oh, go ahead. Fine. Turn your back if it makes it easier on you. But it is not too late, Nikolas. Just stop now before you do something that you can't turn away from. Nikolas: It is too late, Gia! I can't stop now and I won't, all right? Gia: You have to. Let me help you! Just -- joined something good to want, something that can't hurt anybody else. Look at me. Look at me. Nikolas: What? Gia: Do you remember when we met? Remember how I wanted it all, right -- money, fame, power, everything superficial under the sun. And you taught me how wrong I was. Nikolas: What are you doing here, anyway, Gia, okay? What do you want? Gia: I want you back, my Nikolas, the man who showed me what true love is and -- and made me believe in it just by looking at me. Nikolas: You really want me, or you want me away from Elizabeth? Gia: I want both. Nikolas: So is that why you told me to go to hell the other night? Gia: I was hurt. All right, you got to me. And I know I got to you, too. And don't bother denying it. I -- I still want you, Nikolas. And you want me, too. You did the other night, and you couldn't hide it. The only thing stopping us is you. Elizabeth: I don't want to do this, but I can't see any other way. Nikolas is the only one who can stop Helena, but first he has to prove himself. He has to make it look like he killed me. Laura: Helena is relentless, though. It's been 20 years that Luke and I have been fighting with her, and now you and Lucky are caught in the same war. Elizabeth, if something doesn't go right, I don't think that Lucky could ever live with it. I'm very worried about both of you. There's got to be another way. We should sit down – [Footsteps] Helena: Well. If I didn't know better, I'd say you're conspiring with the enemy. Roy: Whatever Helena gave to your father has him bouncing back and forth in time. If he even knows what she's up to, I doubt he could tell us. That leaves you. We've got to know what you know. Whatever's buried in your mind, whatever it is, man, we -- we've got to know. So let's get on it. Who is not in his coffin? Is that Frank Smith? Lucky: No. Roy: Okay, then -- then who? Lucky: It won't come. Roy: Come on, Lucky. Lucky: It's like it's all right around a corner, but then the corner keeps moving, you know? Luke: It's a maze. Lucky: Helena's got both of us. But not in the same way. It's like I -- it's like I try to remember something, but then something won't let me. Helena put something in my head. But she didn't put the same thing in my dad's. He's the only one that's sick. Dad, I think you need to go see a doctor. Melissa: Luke, I think he's right. If we could get you to General Hospital -- Luke: Back off, baby. I ain't going anywhere with you people. Roy: Why not? Luke: Because I don't know who the hell you are. Not a single damn one of you. Roy: Okay, Luke, come on here, man. You -- you know us. Luke: The hell I do. Roy: Remind him who you are. Lucky: Dad, it's me, Lucky. Luke: Stop saying that. Who is this joker? Roy: This is your son, Lucky. Luke: I haven't got any son! I haven't got any kids! And who's Blondie, my dear old mother? Melissa: I'm -- I'm Melissa Bedford. A friend of Roy's from Chicago, remember? Luke: I remember Chicago. I don't know any Luckys, I don't know any Melissas from the windy city, and I don't know you from Adam. So you all just stay back. Roy: You remember Bobbie, your sister? Luke: Yeah, I have a sister, Barbara Jean. You remind me of somebody I know, but older. Melissa: Luke, I do think maybe it would be a good idea if we could just take you to General Hospital -- Luke: No! No hospitals, no hospitals. Roy: He's right. Taking him back to GH might be like handing him back to the enemy right now. Why don't the two of you wait outside? Lucky: No. No, I'm not going anywhere. Roy: Please. Melissa: Lucky, come on. Just for a minute. Roy: He is a good boy. And I think we need to get out of this nasty place and go someplace safe, somewhere Laura can come see you. Luke: Laura. Yeah. Oh, that's right -- Laura's working late at the disco. I promised to drive her home tonight. I got to go. Roy: Actually, Luke, she's not there tonight. Luke: What? Roy: She's not there tonight, but she's okay. It's just that she has been worried about you. She's been asking about you. Luke: She has? Roy: Yeah. Yeah, so why don't we get the two of you together? What do you say? You and Laura. I can do that for you. But you're going to have to trust me. Laura: What have you done to Elizabeth? Helena: Why would I do anything to Elizabeth? Laura: You have turned her from Lucky to Nikolas. Helena: Oh, really, Laura -- playing favorites with your sons. Elizabeth: Laura, no matter what you say, you will not convince me to go back to Lucky. He doesn't want me any more than I want him -- Laura: I -- Elizabeth: So, please, just drop it, okay? Laura: No. I want you to listen to what I have to say. Elizabeth: I'll be fine. Helena: If you're sure. Elizabeth: Mm-hmm. Elizabeth: How can I go away and pretend to be dead when I know what Nikolas and Lucky are up against? Laura: You don't have any choice now, Elizabeth. You have to go away, one way or the other. Gia: I miss you every day, every night, and I know you miss me, too. Nikolas, we could have it back, all of it. We can run away if you want to. Nikolas: I can't. Gia: Can you please just -- just drop it all. Just forget it. Tell Helena to forget about it. Nikolas: I can't. Okay? I cannot do what you're asking of me, Gia. When are you going to get that? Gia: When you convince me it's true. When I stop seeing the old you hiding beneath this horrible disguise you're wearing. When I can look at you and not think about the man who made love to me in that cottage and changed my whole life completely. When I can forget about the way that you touched me and the way that you made me feel. Nikolas: It was sex, Gia. Gia: You're wrong. It was love. Nikolas, it was us, and it is us again. Nikolas: Forget it! Gia: Just, please, don't go through with this! Nikolas: What, or you get hurt? Is that what you want, Gia? Is that what you want? Gia: What, you'd hurt me? Nikolas: My grandmother has plans for me, and I will not let anyone stand in the way. I don't want to hurt you, so stay away and stay out of it. Alexis: Thank you for taking Kristina in. Ned: So this big secret of yours -- it has something to do with Kristina, right? Alexis: Yes. It's -- she's someone from my past. Oh, it's complicated. Ned: Really? Alexis: Yeah, I -- I -- Ned: "I'd like to tell you, but I can't"? I've certainly heard that before. Alexis: Ned, Ned -- Ned: And why you can't is because evidently you don't trust me after everything we've been through. Alexis, what more do I have to do to make the grade? Kristina: This place is gorgeous. So when do I get the grand tour of the estate tomorrow? Oh, sorry. I'm just going to pass on through -- Ned: No, stay. We're finished. Alexis: I have an errand to run. Kristina: Well, wait -- why don't I go and do it so you and Ned can finish up your conversation? Alexis: No, it's something that I need to take care of myself. Ned: Hmm, story of your life. Alexis: My life's not over. Ned: I know one chapter that is. Alexis: I'll see you later. Ned: Good-bye, Lone Ranger. Happy trails. Kristina: Why are you so mean to Alexis? Ned: Why are you so important to her? Laura: Elizabeth, you are a target. The best thing you could do would be to disappear tonight. Otherwise, I'm afraid that Helena might get rid of you herself. Elizabeth: If I run now, Helena will know that Nikolas warned me. She'll turn on him. She may not hurt him, but his last chance to save Lucky will be gone. Laura, you know I have to do this. How many drops do I take? Laura: Four. Tell Nikolas that it works quickly but the effects can linger for as much as an hour. Elizabeth: Well, I trust him to do it. I trust him with my life. Laura: This is just so unfair to both of you. Elizabeth: You would do it for Luke, wouldn't you? Helena has the key to saving Lucky, and she'll hand it over to Nikolas if we can pull this off. There's no other way. It has to be over. It will be over, won't it? Laura: Oh, yes. I will make sure of it this time. Luke: Laura. Yeah. Roy: Yeah. Luke: She's the one. She always was. She always will be. Hands down, she's -- hands. I -- I've seen hands. Maybe this is all a big dream. I got to sit down. Roy: Okay. Luke: Roy? Roy: Yeah? Luke: Was there somebody here just now who claimed to be my son? Roy: Yes. This is all going to come back. His name's Lucky. He loves you. He wants you to be okay. Luke: I will be just as soon as we find out what's pumping through my veins, scrambling my brains. I got stuck with something right here. Roy: Yeah, you did get stuck with something. You were in a lab somewhere, Helena's lab. Lucky's been there. He just can't tell us where it is. Luke: Well, that's because she doesn't want him to. She's got him all tangled up. Roy: We need -- we need to find that lab. Luke: So we can find the lab rat. Roy: Do you have any memory whatsoever, any recollection where it might be? Luke: See, that's the problem. All I got upstairs is just this flashing sign -- "tilt, tilt, tilt, tilt --" Lucky: Hey, guys -- Roy: What? Lucky: Two of Helena's men are outside right now. Roy: We got to get Luke out of here. Melissa: I know, but where? Roy: I have an idea. We're going to need Laura. You can't know where your father goes. Helena could get it out of you. Lucky: I understand. You go with them. But you remember, I'm not giving up on you. I'm not giving up on you, Dad. I'm going to be fighting with you whether we're apart or together. I hurt you. I'm sorry for that. Helena: Ah. I'm still down on the docks hoping for word of Luke. Call me -- assuming you retrieve your messages. Nikolas: Ahem. Helena: Nikolas, my darling. Well. I hope you've had time to consider our bargain. Nikolas: Yes, I have. Helena: I know what I'm asking is not easy. Helena: But, you see, Elizabeth is a flaw in my plans for Lucky. Nikolas: And where does Lucky fit in, exactly? Helena: Do this -- you'll know. Nikolas: All right. Helena: Well. Kristina: You shouldn't be so mean to Alexis. Ned: Just stay out of this. Kristina: You were engaged to a very special woman, and you blew it. Ned: Why are you so important to her? Kristina: What happened between the time that you were engaged and the wedding? Why didn't you guys get married? Ned: Why don't you ask her? Maybe, just maybe, she'll trust you enough to tell you the whole story -- how she ran out of the church and flagged down a semi in her desperation to avoid marrying me. And after you're done with that, maybe you can convince her to tell me the truth about your identity. Until then, just refrain from prying into our personall life, okay? Elizabeth: Nikolas, are you here? Roy's voice: Luke, we found a couple of your drawings. There was a man in an empty coffin. What was that? Who was the body supposed to be? Roy: Okay, here we are. Just hold on a second. You okay? Let's just sit down. Come on, let's just -- grab this chair here. This place ring a bell, Luke? Luke: No. Oh, it's so cold here. Florida is never this cold. Roy: I'm sure it'll warm up soon. I sent my friend Melissa to get Bobbie. Luke: Oh, Bobbie. She's going to be all over me -- all over me about running off. You know, she's been through a lot, especially when I wasn't there. She had to stay and watch. Roy: Watch what? Luke: The old man beating up on Mama. And I hate that bastard. I don't know why I can't do anything. Why can't I stop him from hurting her? And don't tell Ruby because, you know, Dad's her brother, but she knows what he's like when he drinks – [Knock on door] Luke: And she asked me to -- Roy: Yeah. Luke: Take care of Mom. Roy: Yeah, no -- just let me get this. Luke: Why can't I do that? Laura: Roy. Roy: Hey. Laura: I got here as soon as I could. Is everything okay? Did you find out anything about Luke? Roy: Lucky and I actually found him, Laura. Laura: Is he all right? Roy: Well, he's -- he's -- he needs to see you. He's sort of in and out right now. Laura: Of -- of consciousness? Roy: Of time and place. Laura: Oh, my God. Roy: He's not doing too well. Look, I'll be right outside if you need me. Okay? Laura: Luke? Hi. It's me. Hi. Laura: It's okay. It's okay. Oh, Luke, what happened? Oh, God, what'd they do to you? Oh. |
