>> Previously on "General Hospital" --

Stefan: I love her.

Jax: No Cassadine will ever touch Chloe again.

Stavros: Is there something I can do to help you?

A.J.: Sorel is threatening Michael now?

Sonny: I do not want Emily or Zander hurt again.

Angel: My father isn't finished yet. Someone has to stop him.

Jax: I suggest you find some other blonde to be obsessed with. Chloe Morgan just resigned.

Stefan: You smug, self-righteous idiot. Who do you think you are --

Alexis: Hey, hey, hey, hey!

Stefan: To tell me what to do with my life?

Alexis: Stefan, we -- guys, settle down. Jax is not the enemy here. Helena is.

Stavros: Stefan claimed that he didn't know me?

Chloe: He said your company, that Karikos group, was a name that his brother used to call him. It meant "worthless."

Stavros: I'm afraid Stefan is lying. Our business deals turned sour towards the end. He took something that belonged to me.

Chloe: At least you didn't make the mistake of trusting him again.

Stavros: Yes, well, I find duplicitous people a waste of time.

Chloe: And what about the honest ones? The ones who never meant to lie? Let me ask you this, Lucien -- if you loved a woman, would you ever leave her, even if it were for someone that you loved before?

Stavros: When I love someone, it's absolute. Nothing, not even death, could keep me from the woman I choose.

Melissa: So how long till Sorel goes after these people again?

Man: How would I know?

Melissa: Well, take a wild guess, why don't you, or we're going to have a very bad accident.

Man: Okay. As soon as Sorel finds out I can't finish the job, he's just going to send someone else.

Melissa: Well, he's not going to find out from you.

Man: What are you doing?

Melissa: You'll wake up in the morning, which is more than you deserve.

Pat: What have you got?

Melissa: Oh, he's a John Doe with minor injuries. He's stable, can wait.

Pat: Good thing. We got a car accident coming in.

Melissa: Okay.

Melissa: Oh, Carly, you're all right.

Carly: Yeah. Why? What happened?

Melissa: Where's your little boy tonight?

Carly: It's none of your business. Why are you asking me about Michael? Oh, my God. Where did you get this?

Zander: You're never going to hurt Emily again.

[Monitor alarm beeps]

Zander: How does it feel to be helpless? Hmm? No way to fight back? Hmm? Nowhere to run? Flat on your back? That's how Emily feels. Now it's your turn. As soon as I turn that machine off, you're dead.

Sonny: All right, enough, Zander.

Zander: No. You let me do it.

Sonny: No. That's not advisable.

Alan: Zander, what the hell are you doing? Get away from him, Zander!

Zander: Oh!

Alan: Are you crazy?

Sonny: He's still hurt.

Alan: Don't -- no, don't!

Sonny: Back off, Zander, it's over.

Zander: No. Not until he's dead.

Alan: Just take it easy.

Guard: What's going on? How'd the kid get in here?

Alan: Uh, he just walked into the wrong room by mistake. He's my patient. It's okay. Sonny, help me get him back to bed, will you?

Zander: No, I'm okay. I can make it.

Guard: Get him out of here.

Alan: Go with Sonny. I got to take care of something here.

[Zander coughs]

Zander: Why did you stop me? Somebody needs to kill him.

Sonny: Somebody will.

Roy: Sorel came so close to dying. I'm kind of surprised he wouldn't want to make peace with his daughter.

Angel: Well, that's what I thought when he asked to see me. I brought him flowers, the kind on the living room table. I even wore my pearls. He gave these to me on my 16th birthday.

Roy: They're beautiful.

Angel: He told me that a girl's first piece of good jewelry should come from her father. Offered to forgive him, and he just smiled and said that he was going to kill Sonny. How's that for a touching family reunion? I'm sorry. I'm not usually this clumsy.

Roy: Oh, not at all, not at all. You seem remarkably composed, given the circumstances.

Angel: I guess that I just believed no matter what else happened, my dad could never really turn on me.

Roy: I think you were right about him the first time. Doesn't seem to be anything left in him but the hate.

Angel: You know, you never said -- how do you know my father?

Alan: Okay, I'll attach the monitors to the alarm. Should you try to detach the leads and we don't see a pulse there, you're going to set the alarms off.

Zander: It's basically a medical version of handcuffs, hmm?

Alan: I've also prescribed a mild sedative.

 Zander: I'm fine, I'm fine.

Alan: It's not a request.

Zander: Look, I need to talk to Sonny first.

Alan: Yeah, well, I'm sure you do. Sonny was not doing you any favor by allowing you to try to smother Sorel.

Zander: What are you talking about? He was trying to --

Sonny: Hey. You went -- you went in there by mistake. Isn't that what you told the cops?

Alan: Did you ever really have a good look at the guy next door? You really think that there's any difference between you and Sorel? I don't think so.

Sonny: All right. Ahem. I'm going to teach you an important lesson, so pay attention. Never get your hands dirty. Always leave a way out. If you had gone in there and killed Sorel, that's murder and that's just plain stupid.

Zander: Sonny, Sorel's not going to stop.

Sonny: Sorel's a fool. He's lying flat in a bed breathing through a tube.

Zander: Yeah, well, that didn't stop him from getting to Emily.

Sonny: And that's smart? Make himself a threat when he's completely vulnerable? When anybody can just go in there and shut off the machine and kill him?

Zander: Sorel doesn't care. All he cares about is revenge.

Sonny: Exactly. He wasn't thinking any more than you were when you went after him. What did it get you? Sorel's still alive. And the cops know now that if you -- you're strong enough to get out of bed and go attack him. You gave away your advantage and you made your enemy safer because you weren't thinking.

Zander: I get it.

Sonny: This wasn't your fight to begin with, Zander. You were just a card in the game. Sorel played you first, then I played you. Now, you stood up. I am grateful. I consider you a friend. But Sorel is mine to deal with.

Melissa: One of Sorel's hit men was admitted into E.R. tonight. He had pictures of Zander Smith, Emily Quartermaine, you, and Michael.

Carly: Whoa -- where's the hit man? I need to see him.

Melissa: He's been sedated. He's not going to wake up until tomorrow.

Carly: Well, I need to know if they've found my son. They could be going after him tonight.

Melissa: Sorel's going to be long dead before your son ever has to hear his name.

Alan: Aren't you going to thank me for saving your life? I know you can't talk, but what about a little wave or a thumbs up? I am really disappointed in you. Where's the respect? Isn't respect the linchpin of your filthy business? Isn't that why you tried to kill my daughter, because she didn't show you any respect? She survived every time you tried to kill her? And she supported that boy that put you in prison. You should've stayed here, Sorel. You were safe, and now you're trapped. You're at my mercy, and I have none. You were the one that crossed the line. You picked the wrong guy. My child will never spend another night in danger. Never.

Jax: Actually, Helena seemed fairly benevolent when I left the auction.

Alexis: I'm sure seeing you again put her in a good mood. She still, however, hates the two of us, and she's always threatening us with some, what, twisted, horrible, soul-searching revenge.

Jax: Well, it's not an unusual occurrence.

Stefan: I don't have time for this nonsense. I have to find Chloe.

Jax: I believe the legal term for that would be "stalking."

Stefan: Try to prove it.

Alexis: Ah -- will you let him go, please?

Jax: What, so he can find Chloe and lie to her some more?

Alexis: Chloe is perfectly capable of deciding whether she wants to be with him or not. You do not get a vote -- unless, of course, you want her back. Is that why you're here?

Sonny: Hey. Did you see Sorel hit Carly? I mean, I know what happened because I saw a bruise on her face, but did you actually see him do it?

Zander: Yeah.

Sonny: Was she crying?

Zander: No. No, she was -- she was fighting.

Sonny: Well, yeah, you know Carly. She -- any time she gets scared, she fights more, you know. It's not always smart, but -- most of the time it's the opposite. She doesn't think about the danger, the consequences. She just goes straight at it stop your heart, how brave she is. You know, she never believed I could keep her -- I could keep her safe, so she betrayed me. And then I -- I turn around and proved her right by leaving her alone. I always -- I always treated Sorel like a business problem. I didn't see he was insane. He -- he didn't want to take my territory. He wanted to take me down, to kill what I love. That's why he went after Emily tonight -- not for you, but for me. She's my friend's sister. He wanted me afraid for her just like he wants me afraid for my wife and Michael. Sorel's been asking me for months to pay attention. It's about time I did.

Carly: What good will it do to even call the police? Because they're just going to say that Sorel's in custody and he can't hurt anyone.

Melissa: You got to be with your son tonight.

Carly: Well, I am not going to be the one that leads them to Michael. What kind of a sick pig threatens a child? He can't do this. I won't -- I won't let him.

Melissa: No, no, no, wait. Carly -- Carly, wait --

Carly: No, thanks for the warning.

Carly: Mike. Oh, my -- are you okay? Oh, Mike. Did they go after you, too?

Mike: Who? Carly, what happened?

Carly: Sorel's going after Michael. I have to stop him.

Roy: Your husband, Donny, and I were in the same cellblock at Bentonville. I knew him pretty well, better than I knew your father. Donny always seemed like a decent guy.

Angel: So was my father, till my mother died. A good man in a bad business.

Roy: Yeah. I understand why you tell yourself that. Maybe it was actually true, I don't know, but the life you choose, or the one you're handed -- it stays with you, has a way of becoming who you are. You tell enough lies, the truth just doesn't work for you anymore. You keep doing damage long enough, at some point in time it's pretty much the only thing you're any good at, the only thing you really care about.

Angel: You sound like you know.

Roy: Yeah, well, I -- I was a good man in a bad business, too. I tried to get out.

Angel: Did you make it?

Roy: Not without a lot of wreckage left behind, a lot of regrets.

Melissa: I need to check his chart.

Guard: One of the doctors already did.

Melissa: I still have to check it. It's standard procedure.

Melissa: Mr. Sorel, can you wake up? Hey. I don't think we've been formally introduced. My name is Melissa Bedford. You killed my brother, Leo.

Jax: It's too late for Chloe and me.

Alexis: Because of Brenda?

Jax: Brenda's gone. But chasing after her made me realize what we had was different than what I had with Chloe -- stronger, more lasting. You know, to this day, I still can't take off in my jet without hearing Brenda laugh. Chloe deserves that. She sure as hell ain't going to find it with your brother.

Alexis: You know, Stefan actually loves her.

Jax: All I can say is whatever he did for you as a child, you've more than paid him back.

Alexis: It's what siblings do.

Jax: Yeah, families can be tricky, especially yours.

Alexis: Hmm.

Jax: So why is Helena suddenly making threats?

Alexis: Because she's mean and hateful and because she smells victory, and, quite frankly, she's winning on all sides.

Jax: Well, we'll be ready for her.

Alexis: We?

Jax: Well, we might be divorced, but you know I'm always on your side.

Alexis: Where have you been, and why are you back?

Jax: I have a few fires to put out first. Then I will tell you everything.

Alexis: Am I going to like what I hear?

Jax: Oh, I can practically guarantee it. Can I give you a lift back to the mainland?

Alexis: I'm going to wait for Stefan.

Jax: He doesn't deserve you.

Alexis: I know. Hey. Welcome home. I missed you.

Jax: Well, the feeling's mutual.

Stavros: Any man who walks away from you is a fool.

Chloe: He was always in love with someone else, and I always knew that deep down. And once he finally realized it, he said all of the right things. But he still walked away.

Stavros: We obviously are not talking about Stefan.

Chloe: I don't even want to think about Stefan. I would be a lucky girl if I never even saw Stefan again.

Stavros: Well, there is a way to make sure that happens.

Chloe: How?

Stavros: Tell Stefan he's not good enough.

Chloe: I was thinking of something a little bit stronger.

Stavros: No. When I had dealings with Stefan in the past, I had him researched. You see, Stefan has always lived in the shadow of his brother.

Chloe: Stavros.

Stavros: Yes. His older brother was brilliant, decisive, and Stefan was always afraid he would never measure up. Became kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

[Boat approaches]

Chloe: That's his launch.

Stavros: Then let me take you home.

Chloe: No. No, thank you. I need to get this over with.

Stavros: In that case, I will leave you to it.

Stefan: Chloe, please let me apologize.

Chloe: No, it won't make any difference.

Stefan: I deceived you. But I know better now. I will never lie to you again, believe me.

Mike: What did Sonny tell you to do?

Carly: He told me to go to my hotel room.

Mike: All right, then maybe that's where you should be.

Carly: Look, I almost killed Sorel. I yanked his respirator cord out of the wall. If I had waited until he was alone, Michael would be safe right now.

Mike: Carly, when did this happen?

Carly: God, Sonny covered for me. I wished he hadn't. Sorel needs to die.

Mike: Look, look, Carly, you can't do any good here. You need to go back to the hotel, notify the head of security that somebody tried --

Carly: What am I doing here? I need to let Leticia know. I need to let them know that somebody --

Mike: Who are you calling?

Carly: Excuse me, excuse me.

Man: Hey, excuse me, I was here!

Carly: Excuse me, I said it's an emergency! Now get lost!

Man: You need to learn some manners, lady!

Mike: Shh, shh. Easy, easy.

Carly: I need to call Leticia. I need to let her know to get Sonny's guard into the room with Michael, and then -- oh, God, Sonny's men -- Sorel could be on his way with men --

Mike: I'll get it.

Carly: No, just -- would you forget it? Forget the money. I need to make sure that Michael's okay.

Melissa: I met one of your associates today. He had these pictures in his pocket -- two -- two teenagers. Yeah. And -- oh, look at this. This beautiful, young mother, right? And then -- and then there was this little boy. Oh, I'm sure they were just a terrible threat to you, weren't they? Terrible. You had to kill them. You just had to, the way you have to kill anybody who gets in your way, right? Anybody who sees you for this just sick, pathetic animal that you really are. Are you -- I'm sorry? You trying to say something? Did you want to answer for your crimes? Is that it? Did you -- here. I can help you. I'm a nurse. There. That's better. Now, what was it you were trying to say? Do you want to tell me why you killed my brother or how you killed him? I already know that.

Sorel: You don't want me as an enemy.

Melissa: I was going to visit Leo at the prison the afternoon that they called me and told me that he was dead. I drove the same roads that I drove for 10 long years. And then when I got there, they took me to the morgue instead of the visiting room. I bet you have no idea what you took from me that day. I bet you have no idea how much I hate you.

Sorel: I can't breathe.

Melissa: Well, of course you can't breathe, Mr. Sorel. I turned off your respirator. You're suffocating. Actually, it's the same way Leo died. Some of the knife wounds penetrated his lungs and he basically drowned in his own body. How does that feel?

Jax: Kristina?

Chloe: Are there any more lies that I need to know about?

Stefan: You know everything.

Chloe: Yeah, I know that you had me kidnapped. You withheld my medication. You forged a letter from a man that I was in love with. I think at a certain point a woman has to say that's enough.

Stefan: The man you were in love with deserted you. He didn't know how to love you the way you deserve to be loved. I do. Now, let me prove that to you, Chloe.

Chloe: We're finished, Stefan.

Stefan: You can't mean that.

Chloe: No, forget it. I do mean that. I don't want you. You will never be good enough.

Stefan: Chloe –

Melissa: My God. I could still save his life if I just put him back on the respirator. Okay, if I just put him back on the respirator, I'll just put him -- but, you see, somehow it doesn't seem fair, does it? My brother didn't have that kind of treatment. He didn't, did he? But, you see, I feel like if I'm helping you to breathe, then I'm helping you to hurt them, and I can't -- it goes against my oath -- "Do no harm." "Do no harm." "Do no harm." Oh, my God! You don't know anything about that, do you?

Monica: What are you doing here?

Melissa: Oh, I was just suctioning his tube.

Monica: Well, I will finish the procedure.

Melissa: Monica, I'm perfectly capable –

Monica: No, that's enough. That's enough. I want you out of here. I don't want you in this room again.

Melissa: I'm sorry, Doctor.

Monica: Mm-hmm.

Monica: Mr. Sorel, you seem to have some difficulty breathing.

Sonny: I guess you're not going to take your pills.

Zander: I don't like drugs.

Sonny: Are you at least going to stay in bed tonight?

Zander: If I get out, the alarm goes off.

Sonny: That's not an answer. You know, revenge doesn't always do what you think it will, Zander. It doesn't make you clean. The only way to start over is to walk away.

Sonny: Quiet night?

Guard: Yes, Sir.

Sonny: Nobody in and out?

Guard: That's correct.

Sonny: Any idea when Sorel will be moved to Bentonville?

Guard: Could be as early as tomorrow.

Sonny: Good night, Officer.

Carly: Make sure the guard stays in Michael's room.

Carly: Make sure all the doors are locked, and you tell hotel security that you are afraid of a prowler.

Carly: You have sweet dreams. You know, nothing scary can happen tonight because Mommy loves you. Night-night, Michael. I love you.

Angel: The doctors tell me that as soon as my father is able to be brought to the infirmary at Bentonville.

Angel: As long as my father has any power at all, he's going to use it to hurt people.

Roy: Yeah, I know. So the solution would seem to be that somebody has to find a way to make the power go away.

Angel: How do you stop a monster without becoming one yourself?

Roy: Maybe that's the wrong question to ask. Maybe we should be focusing on who can be saved. I got to do something. So if you need anything else, just -- the bartender will get it for you, okay?

Angel: Thanks for listening.

Roy: Yeah. Angel? I'm sorry for your loss.

Angel: Donny died a long time ago.

Roy: I meant your father. It's obvious you loved him once.

Monica: We need to wean you off the respirator, Mr.. Sorel. That means you have to breathe on your own for a time. I'm awfully sorry if it's uncomfortable, but it's nothing compare to a broken back, now, is it? The agony of a broken back, the pain and the frustration of trying to learn to walk again -- oh, that doesn't compare to that. You must be really thrilled that Emily is in a wheelchair, huh? Easily she can be terrorized. But, you know, you do have a point. There is something to be said about a victim that can't run away.

Mike: You see? Michael is fine.

Mike: Will you stop thinking like that? Now, you should go back to the hotel. I mean, you need to stay safe for Michael's sake.

Carly: You know, I should call Sonny.

Mike: Will you call him from the hotel? Come on, I'll walk you out.

Pat:  Mike Corbin?

Carly: He's right here.

Pat: It says you burned your hand?

Mike: Yeah. Look, can we take care of this in a minute? I need to walk my daughter-in-law outside.

Pat: We're pretty backed up in here.

Carly: Go ahead, go ahead. I'm fine.

Mike: Carly, leave. It's the best thing you can do for yourself and Michael.

Carly: Okay. I'm going.

Mike: All right. Promise me.

Carly: Okay, I -- I promise.

Mike: Okay.

[Music plays]

[Singing in Italian]

[Music stops]

>> On the next "General Hospital" --

Skye: Do I look like somebody you'd want to get rid of or someone that you'd like to keep around?

Tony: There's something seriously wrong here.

Roy: You've been here all night?

Melissa: I didn't know want to do.

Sonny: Sorel's not going to hurt anybody.
