By Stephanie >> Previously on "General Hospital" -- Monica: Your so-called daughter is going to be thrown out. Stefan: I do love you. Chloe: I need a little time to think. Stavros: Stefan is going to suffer. Roy: You mean to try to get to Sorel? Zander: I'm not going to lie here and wait for him to hurt Emily. Angel: Between you and my father, my choice is you. Jax: Hello, Chloe. Chloe: Jax? Is it really you? Jax: In the flesh. Chloe: When did you get in? How long will you be here? Jax: First I need to know that you're all right. A.J.: You know, Skye, I wouldn't get yourself so lathered up over Jax. It's a common occurrence with this guy. You're going to need a new plan. Skye: A.J., don't you know me better by now? I would never do anything so cheap and obvious. Unless it worked. No, I need to get Mr. Jacks to see that siding with me would be a smart move. Edward: Too late. Jax already realizes that you, young lady, are a threat to E.L.Q. Skye: Jax doesn't seem the type to trust your opinion about anything. Alan: Do not treat my daughter like a piece of furniture! [Phone rings] Alan: I'll get it. Monica: A.J., all will be forgiven if you will come to your senses and vote with Edward and me at the board meeting. Alan: Hello? Skye: You gave me that stock. You can't take it away. Alan: This is he. A.J.: What's in it for me? Monica: Well, peace of mind, for one. How can you back the woman that was responsible for Emily's accident? A.J.: I caused an accident, too. Monica: Oh -- A.J.: I was given a second chance. Why shouldn't Skye? Edward: I'd watch that analogy if I were you, A.J. We might realize that we should've thrown you out years ago. Alan: Oh, my God. Bobbie: Luke, I have no idea where you disappeared to, but I'm afraid for you. And I need your help, so it's urgent. Would you call me as soon as you get this? Carly: All right, I got your "It's a matter of life and death" message. I am here. What happened? Bobbie: I -- I found this mixed in with the mail. Carly: "Carly, first the kid, then you. Love, Joseph." Angel: I was dying. Sorry to disappoint you. Mom always had an arrangement like this in the living room. I even wore my pearls. Remember when you gave them to me? Sorel: Sweet 16. Angel: We had a big party, and you danced with me. What happened, Dad? How did we end up here? Sorel: You wouldn't believe that I had nothing to do with what happened to Donny. Angel: You know, you've almost died several times. Sorel: Hmm. Angel: Next time, you might not be so lucky. You need to be honest. Sorel: All right. You want honesty? Here it is. I'm not going to die. Sonny Corinthos is going to die. Sonny: What kind of slime targets a kid who can't even walk? How'd Sorel get the order out? Benny: I don't know. Sonny: Well, it's got to be somebody in the hospital. Did he make or take any calls? Benny: No. Sonny: That's it, he's finished. Jax: I deserved that. Chloe: No, don't you dare agree with me. What are you doing here? I finally got over the image of you walking out in Paris, Jax. Jax: It was a delicate situation -- arms dealers, government operations. I couldn't risk contacting you. And then when it was finally safe, I -- I didn't think it was fair. Chloe: So what made you change your mind? Jax: Well, I've never been very good at hiding. Thought it was time to apologize. Chloe: Yeah, and here you are. You know, I'm surprised you don't have flowers, Belgian chocolates. Or did you think you might send me a mixed signal? Jax: I'm sorry. Chloe: Yeah, course you are. Because it would be bad manners to say anything else. Why are you here, Jax? Why did you come back now? Melissa: You know, I was thinking -- you should write an article for one of those outdoor magazines about how to hot-wire your car after a bear runs off with your keys. Roy: Don't be making fun of my wilderness skills, pal. Melissa: I'm sorry I had to cut our trip short. Roy: I think that bear sort of ruined everything anyway. Melissa: You know, I think that bear probably has the tent built by now. Roy: Not unless he found those instructions I forgot to bring. Melissa: If your mission was to cheer me up, you did it. Thank you. Roy: Any time. Gwen: Melissa? Melissa, can you get the one coming in? Melissa: Yeah, I'm on it. Bye. Roy: Oh, good. Okay. Paramedic: Okay, we got a 30-year-old male, possible assault victim. Vitals are stable. He has a fractured right forearm with obvious deformity. The witness said he pulled up to the curb in his car, got out, and collapsed. Melissa: Okay. Gwen, what do we have available? Gwen: One. Melissa: Put him in one, guys. I'll be right in. Gwen: All right. Roy: What is it? Alan: Somebody broke into Emily's room. Monica: Oh, my God. Alan: We don't know who he is, what he wanted, but some other guy came in, stopped him, and then the intruder just took off through a window. Edward: Did they catch him? Alan: No, he jumped in a car and he was gone. Monica: Sorel. Skye: Oh, thank God that second man showed up to rescue Emily. Edward: But I wonder how he knew. Alan: We don't know anything yet. A.J.: But Emily's all right? Alan: Yeah, she was actually asleep when the guy broke in, but she sounds fine. Edward: I thought we made sure that no one would find out where she went. A.J.: How could Sorel have found her? Monica: She can't even walk. What kind of an animal would do that? Alan: Monica -- Monica: He is laughing at us. He's getting the best possible care at GH. -- Alan: Monica, please -- Monica: He's getting stronger every day, and how does he repay us? Alan: Monica, you need to focus on Emily! Monica: I want the murderer out of my hospital! Alan: I'll take care of the murderer! You take care of Emily. You find her a place that's a secret. A.J.: All right, you know what? I know whose fault this really is. Skye: Where do you think you're going? Edward: If that deviant Zander hadn't been selling drugs with Joseph Sorel -- Alan: Father, you're not helping. Edward: Well, I will help. Monica: Now, where are you going? Alan: I am going to take care of this, Monica, and you are going to take care of Emily! Nurse: What race were you watching earlier? Zander: Oh, it was just the trials for this thing coming on. Nurse: My old boyfriend used to be into racing. Have you ever taken a test drive around a track? Zander: No. Nurse: It's insane. It's like being on the fastest part of a roller coaster nonstop. I can't imagine maintaining that speed for two or three hours. Zander: At the same time you got 20 guys trying to pass you and you're trying to pass them. Nurse: And go around a curve. Zander: Yeah. So what's the fastest you ever got up to? Nurse: 150. Zander: That's not bad. Nurse: When you get out of here, if you want to go out to the speedway, just let me know. Zander: Yeah, I don't think my girlfriend would like that. Nurse: I didn't realize you had one. I've never seen her visiting. Zander: She's been out of town. Nurse: Is it love? Zander: Definitely. Nurse: What's her name? Zander: Emily. Nurse: Emily is a very lucky girl. Zander: Hmm, I'm the lucky one. Hey, I put her through some crazy stuff. She hung in. All we got to do is make it through this one last problem. Everything's going to be okay. Nurse: What problem? Zander: Something I started. It's going to be over soon enough, one way or another. Angel: There's still time for me to be your daughter, but not if you kill Sonny. Sorel: You care that much about him? Angel: If you do this, it'll change everything. You and I can be close again, the way we were. I'll do whatever you want if you let Sonny live. Sonny: How did Sorel's men get into Emily's room? Man: I stayed as close as I could. But I know nothing I say is going to be good enough, but at least I kept the guy from doing anything. Sonny: He got into the room. Man: Yeah, well, I was there before he started any trouble. I'm sorry. Sonny: Why should I even trust you? Man: You can trust me. Please. It won't happen again, Mr. Corinthos, I swear. Sonny: Get out of my sight. Benny: Boss, you don't want to do this. Sonny: Benny, he's going after kids. Jason's sister. He put Michael's life in danger. Carly -- he came into my home, grabbed her, and threatened her. Benny: Yes, Sir, but you got Sorel's men going against each other. His organization's falling apart. There are lots of things you can do. There's lots of ways of taking care of Sorel without you getting involved. Sonny: You're right. That's good advice. Benny: Are you going to take it? Sonny: Benny -- ahem -- this war is between the two of us. Only one's going to be left standing. Carly: I'm going to Sonny. Bobbie: No, Honey. You need to get out of town. I can't even call Luke. Luke disappeared on me. Carly: Yeah, well, good riddance. Bobbie: You need help from somebody besides Sonny. I'm going to call Mac. You know why? Because Mac -- Carly: No, no, no, no -- Bobbie: He'll know what -- Carly: No! You're not calling Mac. You're not calling anyone. Sonny is going to take care of this. Bobbie: Sonny is not going to be able to protect you, Honey, no more than he has ever been able to protect any other woman he's been with. Think about it. Who got you into this? We need to show the letter to Taggert. Carly: You know what? Taggert is going to say that we cannot prove that this came from Sorel. The pcpd couldn't protect a cantaloupe. And half of them are on Sonny's payroll anyway, so they're going to hear about it. I need to go to Sonny. I need to tell him right now. Bobbie: If you go to Sonny, Sonny's going to drag you back into his life. Would you let me take care of this? Carly: Yeah? How? Bobbie: Trust me. Carly: I'm going to Sonny. Jax: At the moment, to protect you. Chloe: From what? Jax: Stefan. Chloe: I don't need protection from Stefan. And I don't need protection from falling in love with someone who's really in love with someone else. It's a little late for that. Did you find Brenda? Jax: No. Chloe: If you haven't been with her this whole time, then don't you think I deserved a little more than a letter? You couldn't have flown in or called me? Jax: What letter? Chloe: The damn letter that you wrote. "Let go of it, Chloe. Move on with your life, Chloe. We weren't meant to be, Chloe." Jax: I didn't write a letter. Chloe: I have it, Jax. Jax: I certainly wouldn't have written that. Chloe: It's in your handwriting. Jax: I didn't write it. But I can guess who did or had it forged. The same man who kept you captive on that island for months. The same man who hired a Brenda double to lure me off in the first place. Think about it, Chloe. Who needed me out of the way so he could control you and your dreams? And then, apparently, who needed you to hate me so he could be there to comfort you and earn your trust? Stefan: You have a problem with me, deal with me. Stavros: Well, keep me posted on my brother and let me know how it all falls out. Elton: No, no. You're not listening to me. I am the person in charge when Laura Spencer is not available. Now, listen very closely to me because I'll tell you exactly what Ms. Spencer would say to you. Ha-ha. Stavros: So you work with Laura Spencer? Elton: Well, yes, I do. And you are? Stavros: An old friend of Laura's. Elton: Oh, would you give this to Mr. Spencer please? Thank you very much. Damien: What can I get you? Stavros: A vintage 1982 pinot noire. Elton: Oh. Peasant. Obviously, Mr. -- Stavros: Cain. Elton: Obviously, Mr. Cain's palette is far more discriminating than most of Mr. Spencer's usual clientele. Damien: Yeah, well, how about an excellent house red? Stavros: Excellent. So do you know Luke and Laura very well? Elton: I should say I do. I'm Ms. Spencer's most trusted associate and intimate confidante. Stavros: Hmm. I'd take that as a yes. Then perhaps you can assist me. Elton: Well -- anything. Stavros: I've been trying to locate Laura. Melissa: Those fell out of the pocket of the guy who was just wheeled in here. What is he doing with those pictures? Roy: My guess would be he works for Sorel. Did he say anything? Melissa: No. So much for letting go. Roy: Unbelievable. Melissa: So he's going to kill those people, isn't he? Roy: No, he's not. I'm going to take care of this. One way or another, I'm going to take care of it. But you get another nurse to work on that guy, you hear me? Melissa, you stay away from him, all right? Melissa: Okay, I will, I will. Roy: See you. Melissa: Gwen, could you cover that guy in room one? Gwen: I'm on a G.S.W. Is there a problem? Melissa: No, no. It's okay. Zander: You're here late. Alan: Yeah. I've been busy. How you feeling? Zander: I'm good. I'm fine. How's Emily doing? Alan: Well, she's making progress. Zander: Good. Alan: You have any visitors? Zander: Um -- well, your mother and -- oh, some nurse -- she was just talking about -- Alan: Male or female? Zander: Why? Is Emily okay? Alan: She's fine. Zander: Did she fall and hurt herself? Sorel do something? Alan: The important thing is that she was not hurt and she is safe. Zander: No, no, wait a second -- what -- you better tell me everything that happened right now. Sorel: You'll ask so nicely, but it's too little too late. Sonny dies. Angel: You asked me here to see me beg. What kind of father are you? Sorel: What kind of daughter sleeps with her father's enemies? Angel: I hate you. Sorel: Get the nurse. Get the nurse. Get the nurse! [Monitor alarm beeps] [Sorel gasps] Nurse: It's okay, Mr. Sorel, the doctor's on his way. Carly: This was mixed in with my mother's mail. Sonny: I got it under control. Carly: I'm going to need a few more details. Sonny: I can't give them to you. Carly: Look, this animal is going after my son! Sonny: Sorel's in a hospital bed. He can barely move. Carly: Then how did that end up delivered at my mother's house, hmm? Let's see, how did that happen? Oh, I know he sent someone. Listen, I need you to tell me what you are going to do. And you're going to have to trust me. Sonny: Why would I tell you anything? So you can go tell your buddy Roy? Carly: No. Sonny: I have people on Michael. Carly: Then how do you know that Sorel hasn't bought them? Sonny: Because I know. Sorel's trying to scare you. Look, the best thing for you to do now is not to do anything stupid. You go back to your hotel room, you lock the door, and you'll be safe. Carly: Safe? Sonny: Yeah. Carly: Like -- like I was in the penthouse, and you were at Lily's grave, and Bobbie was when Sorel kidnapped her? You know what? The more I think about this, the safer I'm starting to feel. Sonny: I'm going to take care of it. Carly: Yeah, when, Sonny? I need a date. I need something. Look, in this letter, Sorel says that he is going after Michael, he's going to hurt him first! Sonny: I'm not going to discuss this with you right now. If you're not going to go back to your hotel room, if you're worried about Michael, then you go see him. Can you do that? Huh? Can you leave this alone for me? Let me handle it! A.J.: Sorel is threatening Michael now? You put our son in this position the day you married that loser. I want Michael now. Taggert: Listen, the Quartermaines have a private security detail around Emily. Zander's got a 24-hour police guard around him across the hall. Michael Quartermaines is out of the country as far as I know, so he's out of my jurisdiction. I suspect Sonny's probably got an army around the kid anyways. And Carly's made it very clear she doesn't want anything to do with the pcpd. Roy: Okay, okay, okay. All that's good, but I just gave you Sorel's hit list. That's what that is. He's going after those people. He shouldn't even be alive after what he went through. It's like the piece of trash is too damn mean to die. Stavros: Why don't you give me Laura's cell phone number? That way I can surprise her. Elton: You know, I -- I can't help but admire the drape of this wool over these -- oh, my. They're not shoulder pads. Stavros: Laura's cell phone number? Elton: Oh. You know, this is terribly embarrassing, but I've got that number on auto redial everywhere. I just can't seem to remember it at the moment. Listen, here's my card. Why don't you call me at the office tomorrow, and I'll put you through to Laura's voice mail. You see, she's just not answering direct calls on this trip. Oh, God, that reminds me. I've got to give her Luke's message. Luke says he's going off to search for answers, which in Luke verbiage probably means he can be found at the cheapest three-peso brothel in Mexico, searching for answers at the bottom of a tequila bottle, I'm sure. I don't know what she ever saw in that man. But obviously, Mr. Spencer is not of your ilk, Mr. Cain. But if I may be so bold as to say so, I imagine very few people are. Stavros: Well, it was a pleasure speaking with you. Elton: Well, don't forget to call me at the office now. And if there's anything I can ever do for you -- ever -- you just give me a ring-a-ling. Stavros: Thank you, Elton. I will keep that in mind. Elton: Chow mein. Jax: Yes or no? Did you write or have someone write a letter to Chloe, then sign my name to it? Stefan: She was in pain. You had abandoned her to chase after a woman you weren't even sure was Brenda. You'd broken her heart and you continue to do so by denying her any kind of closure. Jax: I think that's a yes. Stefan: This man cared so little for you, he left and he never looked back. He hasn't contacted you once in the last year. Chloe, that letter was an act of kindness to help you get through your grief -- something he apparently never considered. Jax: Oh, and kidnapping Chloe, holding her captive, depriving her of her essential medication -- were those also acts of kindness? Stefan: In an effort to protect Nikolas from Helena, I made some mistakes. But along the way, I fell in love with Chloe. Now, we have put the past behind us, and she has moved on. Jax: With you? Chloe: No, stop it. Stefan: Yes. Chloe: Just stop it! Stop telling each other what I think, and let me tell you. Chloe: So is this what my life has become -- a competition between men to see who treated me worse? You -- left without a backward glance a year ago, and now you come strolling back into town and you want to tell me how to run my life? I don't think so. And, Stefan -- added to all of the other horrible things that you did to me, you forged a letter from Jax? And you set up a double of his dead fiancée for him to follow? I mean, that's beyond manipulative. It's sick. You are clearly pathological, and that just might factor into my answer to your marriage proposal. Stefan: Listen, don't let him do this. Chloe: No, he didn't do this, you did this. Stefan: That was before, Chloe. I am not that person anymore. Chloe: Oh, that line is so tired. I am beginning to wonder if either of you ever cared about me. Stefan: Chloe, wait. Chloe: No! Stefan: Wait. Chloe: Don't speak to me ever again! Jax: Well, that concludes our business. I'll leave you to your island. Stefan: She's mine. Monica: Well, no, we will be willing to pay the extra insurance. No, we've tried that. Well, okay. Yeah. Thank you. Sorry about the late call. Skye: I know you're supposed to be pretending I don't exist, but I was thinking you could maybe put that aside and let me help. Monica: Oh, please. Save the heart to heart. I happen to be worried about my daughter. I don't need your manipulations. Skye: I happen to care about what happened to Emily. Monica: Oh, stop it. You know something? If you not growing up in this household was the worst thing that ever happened to you, you've had a pretty damn good life. So I suggest you go live it -- someplace else. Because I promise you, if you're still here when I get back from relocating Emily, I will make what you're going through now look like a walk in the park. Skye: How could my father ever have wound up marrying a woman like you? Monica: Well, just lucky, I guess. Skye: How many times have I heard you say that this is your house? I mean, you don't get your way, you threaten. Oh, that's not love. And how many times have you cheated on my father? I mean, are you really convincing yourself that I'm the one behind your problems? If Emily truly felt that she was supported by her family, she would've never taken my suggestion to leave. In fact, I changed my mind and I tried to get her not to go. But the truth is she seemed to love the idea of leaving this place. If she felt she could've, she would've come to you, but no, I guess there was a reason that she chose to run. Monica: We haven't had a viper in this house since Tracy. You're both the same, you two -- cold-blooded schemers perpetually unhappy and determined to take it out on everyone. Skye: You know what really angers me about being sold at birth? If Edward hadn't interfered, I -- I guess my father would've married my mother, and I suspect they'd still be together and happy. Is that why you resent me so much? I may not like Rae, but it's painfully obvious you aren't even in the same league. Melissa: So, what are you doing with these pictures? Man: I'm in some pain here. Melissa: Oh. I just wondered why you had pictures of these four people and just what you were planning on doing with them. Man: I don't know what you're talking about. Melissa: Oh. You know, when I get nervous, I could make a mistake. You know, like, I could open up this I.V. drip too much and you'd have a massive coronary before anybody could do anything about it. These accidents happen all the time in hospitals. You read about them, right? Now, if whatever you're trying to say is not the answer to my question, you could end up in very, very bad shape. I just want to know is something going to happen to this child? Are these people in danger? Man: The person who hired me has got nothing to lose. He'll keep on sending people till the job's done. Alan: We're going to move Emily to another rehab center where she's going to be safe. The important thing is that you stay smart and you stay out of trouble. And just remember that you promised her, so don't blow it. Zander: There's not a lot I can do in my condition, even if I wanted to. Alan: Excuse me. Alan: I'd like a word with you please? I have no idea what you're doing here tonight, but my best guess is that you know exactly what happened to Emily tonight, and you're here to tell Zander so he can finish off your dirty work for you. Haven't you done enough harm, Sonny? Don't you have any adults working for you? Don't you realize that your enemy was simply trying to prove a point to you and almost killed my daughter again? Sonny: Whether you believe it or not, I do care about those kids. That's why I had a man watching Emily. Alan: What, that second guy that -- Sonny: Yeah, he works for me. You know what? I know it's because of me that your daughter is involved and I take that to heart, but you need to know something. I do not want Emily or Zander hurt again. Alan: Well, you'll understand if I don't apologize. I got a real problem with the fact that that guy is laying in that room over there. He's responsible for everything, and he's getting better every day. Jax: Chloe is yours? You know, she's right. You're pathological. Stefan: She said that out of hurt and confusion after you dredged up events that are no longer relevant. Jax: Lies are always relevant if you're careless enough to get caught. Stefan: You left her. Walk away. Jax: Chloe has her own life. I have no claim on her. But she has the right to know everything about a man who's proposing marriage. Wouldn't you agree? Stefan: You have no idea what Chloe and I have become to each other. I love her and I will not let you ruin that. Jax: Ruin what? In case you haven't realized, you just got dumped. Chloe asked you to stay away from her. And I intend to make sure you honor that request. No Cassadine will ever touch Chloe again. Stavros: Ms. Morgan? Is there something I can do to help you? Chloe: A friend of mine just came back into town unexpectedly. Just knocked me for a loop. Stavros: Someone you disliked or someone you liked too much? Chloe: Is it that obvious? Stavros: It's obvious he's not a passing acquaintance. Chloe: I was in love with him a long time ago. Actually, on paper, he's a lot like you -- wealthy, charming, an international financier. Stavros: Perhaps I know him. Chloe: Turns out I didn't -- any better than I know Stefan. And any better than Stefan knows you. When I mentioned your name, he said he'd never heard of you, so do you want to tell me what it is that you want from him really? Or is there something that you want from me? A.J.: When was the last time you spoke to Leticia or Michael? Carly: Why? A.J.: Because someone broke into Emily's room tonight at a rehab facility where no one was supposed to know she is. Carly: She all right? A.J.: Yeah. But if Sorel's people can find Emily, they can find Michael. Now, when was the last time you spoke to him? Carly: Today. Look, not like I need to tell you anything. I can take care of Michael. A.J.: Oh, Sorel sends a threatening letter, and Sonny's the person you turn to? If it weren't for Sonny, Sorel wouldn't know your name, let alone Michael's. Now, Carly, if you care for our son at all, you -- Carly: Look, listen; I will protect Michael from anyone who tries to hurt him, all right? Yes, Sorel is a threat, but so are you, okay? And just like I have protected him against you, I will protect him from Sorel. Now, if you'd open your damn eyes, you will see that I can take care of him! A.J.: If you opened your eyes, you'd see that Sonny is lousy at protecting people! Now, Sorel may be in the hospital dying, but apparently he's leaving behind a few contracts, which you, my son, and Emily are on. What are you going to do about it? And don't tell yourself that Sonny will help because apparently whoever broke into my sister's room tonight doesn't give a damn about Sonny! Carly: But you don't get Michael. A.J.: What are you going to do? Carly: I'm going to keep him safe. A.J.: Like you have been? Taggert: I came here looking for Luke. Huh? Taggert: I came here looking for Luke. Roy: Oh, I haven't seen Luke. His car's not outside. I don't think he's here. Taggert: Am I keeping you from something? Roy: Got to talk to somebody. Keep your head on the list, will you? Roy Dilucca. Angel: I remember. Roy: Yeah. I just placed you. You were Donny Ellis' wife. So unless I'm mistaken, that means you're also Joseph Sorel's daughter. Angel: Was that man a detective? Roy: Yeah. Angel: Does he work organized crime? Roy: Mm-hmm. Angel: Does he work for my father or Corinthos? Roy: I think he's clean, actually. Why? Angel: Well, I just came from the hospital. My father isn't finished yet. Roy: Well, I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear that. You going to do anything about it? Angel: It's no use. I'm just one more person that he wants to hurt. Someone has to stop him. [Footsteps] Zander: You're never going to hurt Emily again. >> On the next "General Hospital" -- Stefan: You smug, self-righteous idiot. Stavros: Not even death could keep me from the woman I choose. Melissa: Where's your little boy? Angel: How do you stop a monster without becoming one yourself? Zander: Now it's your turn. |
