Chloe: I can't believe this!
Jax: What, that we're in the caribbean or that it's really the year 2000?
Chloe: Both. No, i can't believe the way i feel right now. Have you ever been through an earthquake?
Jax: Several.
Chloe: Well, i haven't till i met you.
Jax: What, you're comparing me to a natural disaster?
Chloe: No, you're more like a force of nature.
Jax: I'm still not sure if that's good or bad.
Chloe: It's definitely good. You just basically demolished a fundamental belief that i have had for years, which is that i thought i had a complete life until i met you, and now i realize i had no idea what i was missing.

Taggert: Make yourself comfortable.
Roy: You're kidding, right? A place like this doesn't make me feel comfortable.
Taggert: I imagine it doesn't. Never seems to bother your friend here, though. A bomb, an innocent young woman, and you all in the same place. It could have very easily been another lily corinthos night.
Taggert: You have any kind of learning curve at all, morgan? Don't you get it? The people that want you dead know you live in a bulletproof penthouse. They ain't going to come after you there. I mean, why bother? Why make it hard on themselves? They know they can get you just as easy where your girlfriends live or where they park their cars. How many more innocent women are we going to have to put in your file until you grasp the concept that the people that want you dead, they don't give a damn how many people they have to kill in the process?
Roy: I came down here to make a statement. Am i going to get to do that or not?
Taggert: How'd you know there was a bomb in elizabeth webber's studio?
Taggert: I'm going to give you one more chance to avoid aiding and abetting charges later and an obstruction of justice charge tonight. How did you know there was a bomb in elizabeth webber's studio?
Roy: Ah.
Taggert: Fine. Have it your way. Discuss it amongst yourselves. I'm going to talk to whoever drew the short straw in the d. a. 's office tonight.
Jason: Wait.
Taggert: You ready to cooperate?
Jason: I'm ready to make my one phone call.
Alexis: What do you think mike and gertrude are doing right now?
Do you think he's used the jet's escape hatch?
Ned: He bailed.
Alexis: No. When?
Ned: Right after appetizers.
Alexis: Oh.
Ned: But we'll deal with that in the morning.
[Telephone rings]
ned: Is that your bat phone?
Alexis: I don't hear anything.
Ned: Did you make some silly resolution about not turning on your voice mail for the next millennium?
Alexis: I turned off the voice mail when i was waiting for you to call me.
[ring]
ned: Maybe it's gertrude.
Alexis: Yeah.
Ned: Checking to see if we're with the right people.
Alexis: I am.
Ned: Me, too.
[ring]
ned: You know, it could be an emergency. In my family, we drive cars into trees at this time of year. Should we answer it? There you go.
Alexis: Hello. Happy new year. You or sonny? Mm-hmm. Yeah, not that i need to tell you this for the 75th time, but don't say anything till i get there.
Ned: No, no, no.
Alexis: I -- i -- i -- i got to go. It'll only be a minute. Hold my place.
Ned: Look, look, look, it's my family. If jason needs bail --
alexis: I'll let you know.
A. J. : Everything all right?
Carly: Fine. I just spent new year's eve trapped in an elevator with mr. Sonny corinthos. It's been a new year for the ages.
Sonny: Whoa, whoa.
Take it easy.
A. J. : Come on. There's a chair over here. Let me help you. Why don't you have a seat.
Carly: Stuck in an elevator -- you know, no air.
Sonny: Maybe you need some water.
Carly: No.
A. J. : So what happened? It just shut down?
Sonny: There's no ventilation, you know? You should get that thing fixed or you're going to get sued, a. j.
A. J. : I'm on it, all right? As soon as i heard it shut down, i realized you might still be inside.
Carly: Ok. Ok.
A. J. : Whoa, whoa. You still dizzy?
Carly: I just -- i think i just -- i need some fresh air to make me feel better.
A. J. : Well, here. Take my arm. I'll help you out.
Carly: No, i'm fine. It's just -- you know, it's been a rotten night.
Sonny: You know, maybe, i don't know, you might want to sit down and get some, you know, air for a minute.
A. J. : Hey, my wife's fine. Thank you.
Sonny: Well -- A. J. : Hmm. I can just imagine what the two of you found to chat about in the elevator.
Roy: So what's up? Taggert's always bent, or is it because we broke up his date? What's the problem?
Jason: These rooms are wired.
Roy: Yeah. Yeah. I spent 20 years taking a course on editing every meaningful comment.
Jason: We're not going to be in here for long. Thanks for helping me tonight.
Roy: Yeah. You know, you and sonny helped me by hiring me at the warehouse. I'm just repaying the favor, that's all, you know.
Jason: I'm ok.
Taggert: You know mr. Morgan, and his buddy, roy dilucca, straight out of pentonville, working at the morgan-corinthos coffee front.
Dara: An 18-year-old innocent girl could have easily been blown to pieces tonight. Now, one of my new year's resolutions is to make sure things like this get stopped for good. Now, who's forelping me, or do we have to do this the hard way?
Stefan: I won't be long.
Laura: Go ahead. I want to thank you for being here with us tonight, especially when i know there's someplace else you'd rather be.
Nikolas: If you mean elizabeth, after my performance at the g. h. Christmas party, i'm the last person she probably wants to see.
Bobbie: Well, there's clean flannel sheets on the bed, and i'll put some fresh towels in the bathroom.
Elizabeth: Bobbie, please don't go through any trouble. All i need is a bed.
Bobbie: Actually, i was about to make some hot chocolate. Would you like some?
Elizabeth: Ok.
Bobbie: Do you want to talk about what happened?
Elizabeth: There wasn't really time to be scared, you know? Jason and i, we went out on the motorcycle to bring in the new year. He dropped me off. I went inside, got ready for bed. And then jason kicked down the door. Roy's with him. They're saying there's a bomb. Next thing i know, we're on the docks, jason's calling 911. I guess i really didn't get scared until i realized that roy stayed behind to defuse the bomb.
Bobbie: You don't know how they found out about it?
Elizabeth: No. But jason, he grabbed me. We're racing out. But i knew i'd be safe because i was with him.
Bobbie: Elizabeth, jason is what i call a bad boy with a good heart. I have known my share. You can get into conversations with them where they will get to you like no one else. And they're wild. And they're like a shot of adrenaline compared with normal life. And they're strong. And they make you feel safe. But what you don't want to see is eventually they'll break your heart.
Chloe: Mmm. Mmm, mmm, mmm. I love the way it smells after a rain. It's like a new beginning every time.
Jax: New beginnings sound about right.
Chloe: Mm-hmm.
Jax: You hungry? I could order some room service.
Chloe: Uh-uh. Everything i want is right here. I may have just spent the most perfect night of my life.
Jax: No.
Chloe: Yeah. How can i ever top this?
Jax: You know, there's --
chloe: You've taken me around the world. You've taken me away from aunt gertrude. We danced in a tropical rain. And i have been able to do this anytime i want.
Jax: Yeah.
Chloe: Yeah. It's pretty nice.
Dara: In port charles, we take bombs very seriously. Now, you know something, and you're obstructing justice by not telling us. Ok, you want to go back in? Because i can accommodate you.
Roy: All i did was step in and help somebody who was in trouble, which turned out to be my boss at the coffee warehouse. I would have done the same thing if it had been you or you. And since when does coming downtown to give a simple statement turn into an interrogation?
Alexis: I was just about to ask the same thing myself.
Sonny: Hey, johnny -- why don't you go ahead and take the rest of the night off.
Johnny: I'll check out the apartment first.
Sonny: No, it's fine. Take off.
Laura: Have you had a chance to speak to elizabeth again?
Nikolas: Actually, i'm doing my best to avoid her. You were right. I mean, fighting her only pushes her further away. Yeah, but i don't know how to stop telling elizabeth that i'm afraid for her. You know?
Laura: Why don't you try asking her about her day instead or, you know, even just commenting on the weather? She knows you're worried about her. You don't have to say it again. And then that way you don't have to lose her as a friend, either.
Nikolas: Yeah, that is the last thing i want.
Laura: Yeah.
Nikolas: I've done everything i know to do for elizabeth. I've tried to support her when she had problems, to be the one she could turn to, especially when --
laura: Yeah.
Nikolas: When she was struggling to hold on to something after lucky died.
Laura: Yeah.
Nikolas: Yeah, maybe -- maybe this is wrong for me to feel this way. Maybe -- maybe it's selfish.
Laura: No. Elizabeth is a wonderful person. Why shouldn't you have feelings for her? You know, if it's meant to be, it'll work itself out. That's just how love is. I guess you kind of have to be patient.
Nikolas: Patience. Yeah, i'd have all the patience in the world if she weren't with someone who could hurt her. Well, stefan could be on that call for hours. I think i'll head home.
Laura: Ok.
Nikolas: Do you need a ride back with me?
Laura: No. Thank you.
Nikolas: Ok.
Laura: I love you.
Nikolas: Love you, too.
Laura: Have a happy new year.
Nikolas: You, too.
Laura: Promise me you'll call me if you need somebody to listen.

Stefan: I'm sorry. That took longer than i anticipated.
Laura: Is everything all right?
Stefan: Yes. But we should expect a visit from helena.
Laura: Oh.
Stefan: Where's nikolas?
Laura: He thought you might be a little while, so he decided to go on home.
Stefan: I am concerned about him.
Laura: So i am, but i think he'll find his way. Look what i found.
Stefan: Oh. I love this photo. I had it made shortly after you left the island. I kept it in my desk. Even after we hadn't spoken for years, i would find myself looking at it, longing to tell you both things -- things that i couldn't.
Laura: Nikolas was just telling me all the things that he's done for elizabeth, and i couldn't helbut think of all the things that you have done for me. You know, i may not have always agreed with them, but i want you to know that i know that you did them to protect me. Thank you.
Helena: Ooh. How delightful. My second son ringing in the new year kissing his brother's widow.
Stefan: What brings you here in the middle of the night, mother? You getting nervous?
Helena: Oh, actually i'm welcoming in the year 2000 with more confidence than ever.
Laura: Ok. That's enough for me. Happy new year. I meant what i was about to say.
Stefan: Wait. Don't go.
Laura: No, please. It's been a perfect evening, and i want to leave it that way.
Helena: Such a lovely, lovely neck.
Stefan: What is your business here? I'm so tired of your empty threats.
Helena: Oh, i assure you they are far from empty. I want an alibi for the night katherine was murdered.
Stefan: You want me to recant my statements to the police, to nullify legitimate evidence? Why would i do that?
Helena: You're a good liar. Retract your flimsy evidence, say you saw me in the therapy room after all, and that the photographs placing me on the parapet when katherine went over were doctored.
Stefan: Apparently, the evidence against you isn't flimsy after all.
Helena: Do as i say, or you will be very sorry. Go ahead. Have a look.
Stefan: I'm not interested. Whatever is in there is either a lie or a bluff, and i am not playing your game.
Helena: And you're not the slightest bit curious?
Stefan: No.
Helena: Very well. Have it your way. For now. Happy new year.
Helena: Oh, how wrong you are.
Chloe: When i first met you, i thought you were a playboy.
Jax: Uh?
Chloe: Mm-hmm. Charming and irresistible. You know, i know about playboys.
Jax: Really?
Chloe: Yeah. My dad was one. And they can be wonderful, absolutely the best time in the world, unless you make the mistake my mom did and count on them to be real. Crazy thing is the more i know you, the more real you seem. So if you're not, no hard feelings, but would you just tell me now?
Jax: You know what? I don't like the word “Playboy. ”
Chloe: Yeah?
Jax: No, never been fond of it. Although, i am probably guilty of that, but -- i mean, i certainly know how to play all the games, but i am not playing them with you.
Chloe: Did you ever?
Jax: Uh --
chloe: Hmm?
Jax: Ok, maybe for, like, two minutes in the gazebo the first night i met you. And then i saw the real you. I think i would do anything for you. And i can't promise that i will never hurt you. But i can promise that i'll never mean to.
Alexis: What are you doing here? Don't you have a wife you should be at home with?
Mac: Apparently julie devlin ramsey didn't get the notice. Apprehended her at scott and lucy's wedding.
Alexis: Excellent. Then if you just sign my clients out, we can all go home, right? Mr. Morgan and mr. --
roy: Dilucca.
Alexis: Dilucca were innocent bystanders, saved the young girl's life, and they have cooperated fully with the department.
Taggert: They haven't told us a damn thing.
Alexis: Well, that's because there's absolutely nothing to tell. You have no proof of any wrongdoing. You have no grounds for an arrest. So unless you kick my clients free -- and that would be immediately -- i'm going to have to file suit for harassment and false imprisonment. You know how it goes.
Dara: Gentlemen, a word.
Roy: You're good.
Alexis: With him as a client, i have to be. And what were you in prison for?
Roy: Attempted murder.
Alexis: Attempted murder.
Roy: Yeah.
Alexis: Mm-hmm. That's it. Told you once, told you twice, i'm not representing violent criminals.
Jason: Alexis, roy did his time -- 20 years. e works at the warehouse loading coffee.
Alexis: Ok, ok, ok. Listen up. I said that i would represent you and by extension your loathsome business partner, but i'm not a mouthpiece for the organization and i have no intention of representing every thug that works for you.
Roy: I'm not a thug.
Alexis: Please.
Roy: I am not a thug! I saw somebody in trouble. I helped out. That's all i did.
Alexis: Hmm. Well, all right, then. Do yourself a favor and find yourself another job.
Roy: If you feel so strongly about it, why don't you find yourself another client?
Alexis: You know, i ask myself that question every time i get a call from frick & frack. I guess i just like the challenge. I can afford to. I don't have a prison record.
Dara: Your clients are free to go.
Alexis: Very good. Now, if you have any further questions, please don't contact them directly. Call me.
Taggert: They'll be back. I just hope it's not to discuss elizabeth webber's death.
Alexis: And by the way, i really like the way helena's case is going. Keep up the good work. Happy new year.
Dara: Oh, well, nice try. I'm going to get back to what's left of my party. Don't tell ms. Davis i said so, but she's right. You should be with your wife. Happy new year, guys.
Taggert: Happy new year.
Mac: Happy new year. Those two are never going to open up. We're going to have to rely on forensics for this. Where's the webber girl?
Taggert: Bobbie spencer took her back to the brownstone.
Mac: Was the media over there?
Taggert: No, none that i noticed.
Mac: All right, well, let's try to keep them out. Look, call down and tell forensics to wake up their best team and get on over there.
Taggert: No, no, commish, the best we can hope for is that i -- you know, i got through to morgan, he stays from the webber girl. Go home.
Mac: You know, one of the girls is sick. I don't think we're going to be doing much celebrating, but you look like you had plans, so, look, i'll call forensics. Go on.
Taggert: No, no, i'm here. I'm here. I mean, why waste a good night working when you know i'm here already? Come on. But i do want to go on record as saying i am not going to spend the next century like this.
Sonny: Yeah?
Hannah: Sonny, it's me.
Sonny: What is this, a bust?
Emily: No, juan, i had a great time. Of course, thanks to you. Oh, and happy new century. Well, it is morning, technically, i guess. Ok, i'll see you later. Bye. Juan wanted me to thank you for inviting him to dinner.
Edward: Oh, was that you? Oh, i thought that the young girl who kept coming back and forth to the family table looked familiar.
Alan: We're glad you enjoyed yourself.
Monica: Yes.
Lila: And i want to thank you all for a lovely time.
Emily: I'm going to see her upstairs.
Edward: All right. How long are you two going to allow that little girl to run all over you and keep seeing that -- that runaway that ned has working for him, hmm?
Alan: Do you know what i would like to discuss? Your treatment of a. j. Tonight.
Edward: What was wrong with it?
Monica: Well, you went out of your way to belittle him and pit him against ned every chance you got.
Edward: Well, ned has good ideas.
Alan: Only when you want to play him off against a. j. I'm not going to stand by and watch you do to my son what you did to me. And if you remember, you're the one who corralled a. j. Into heading up e. l. q. Why don't you just let him do his job and not undermine him? You might be very surprised at the results.
Edward: Hmm. Well, i think that emily had the right idea about going to bed -- although if anyone can find out the truth of why ned wasn't with his wife tonight, i'd like to know.
Monica: I couldn't have said it better myself.
Alan: If only father would guide him and encourage him. There's just no telling how good a. j. Could do.
Monica: The only encouragement he's given a. j. Was to marry carly.
Alan: Let's not go there, ok?
Monica: Ok.
Alan: Let's just hope that next year's a better one.
Monica: Yeah, i'm glad this last one's over. However, though, there have been worse.
Alan: Oh, really? Name one.
Monica: Well, that's easy. 1982, 1986, 1990 -- alan: Oh, stop. Stop it.
Monica: 1995 --
alan: Ok, ok, ok, ok. Ok, you win.
Monica: Well, i wouldn't exactly call that winning.
Alan: Ok. What do you think was our best year? Oh, come on. Surely we must have had one.
Monica: Actually, i think we've had incredible moments in all of them. But if i have to pick the best, i'm going to go with this one because we're here right now and we're together.
Sonny: Go ahe and search the place. The kitchen, the guest room. You already know your way to the bedroom.
Hannah: Please, stop.
Sonny: Well, what do you expect? Or better yet, what do you want, hannah?
Hannah: There's one thing i want, and that's for you to understand that i truly love you.
Sonny: Oh, you know what? Try a new tactic. This one's getting old.
Hannah: Sonny, why do you think the bureau has nothing substantial on you? Because i was protecting you instead of doing my job. I came here to bring you down, but all i did was fall in love with you.
Sonny: Oh, come on. You know what? This is -- there's nothing new for you to say. Get out.
Hannah: Do you think i don't know what you're trying to do? You're trying to hurt me the way i hurt you. I'm not asking you to forgive me. I just want you to know that what we had was real and that i really love you. You have to believe that.
[sonny sighs]
Bobbie: It might be a good idea to call your grandmother and just let her know where you are, that everything's ok.
Elizabeth: We can fight tomorrow.
Bobbie: Why would there be a fight?
Elizabeth: Because i'm going to move back in my studio and gram won't want me to.
Bobbie: I'm a little surprised that you'd want to move back.
Elizabeth: They're after jason, not me. And i'm sure whoever planted the bomb realized by now that he's moved out.
Bobbie: Yeah. But just the same, it might be a good idea to stay away from jason just for a little while.
Elizabeth: You sound like gram.
Bobbie: I don't know about audrey, but i'm speaking from my own experience. In the end, knowing jason can hurt you.
Felicia: I gave up waiting.
Mac: How's georgie?
Felicia: Her fever broke. I'm on my way to get a prescription. I heard on the news about julie devlin ramsey. I guess scotty and lucy postponed their wedding.
Mac: It's been a crazy night. And then there was a bomb scare down on the docks.
Jason was the target.
Felicia: Is he ok?
Mac: Yeah.
Felicia: So, can you come home now? Somewhere in the planet it's almost midnight, and i sll have champagne on ice. Don't make me regret not bringing it.
Mac: How's your shoulder?
Felicia: It's been missing leaning up against yours. What's going on, mac?
Felicia: Is something wrong?
Mac: Felicia, the night just got away from me. You know, i kept looking at the clock thinking that i had more time -- “If i only had another 10 minutes. ” And then the call came in that they located ramsey. The next thing i knew, there were car horns blowing and people celebrating down the hall. I should have called.
Felicia: Maxie and i stayed up and watched the ball drop in times square. Georgie, poor thing, she tried, but she fell asleep on the couch. I just waited around with the cell phone in my hand waiting for you to call. I know that you love your job. But will you come home now? Please?
Mac: Ok. Ok. Come on.
Alexis: Hi, honey. Honey? Oh, shoot. Oh! It's not funny.
Ned: Gotcha. Now we're even.
Alexis: Is this how our year is going to be?
Ned: Works for me.
Chloe: Should we be heading back to the plane?
Jax: Why are you in such a hurry to leave?
Chloe: I'm not. I used to be. Keep it light, leave them smiling -- less chance of getting hurt.
Jax: That's also less chance of finding something real.
Chloe: Yeah. That's why i don't want to leave this time. If i had it my way, i'd stay right here in your arms forever.
Jax: Well, that is a good thing because i have no intention of letting you go.
Bobbie: Honey, i'm not going to try to tell you that men like jason can't have amazing qualities, because those rebels can make your heart race.
Elizabeth: Bobbie, i love lucky.
Jason's my friend. He respects my independence. He treats me like i have some strength and not just this little porcelain doll. He lets me be who i am, who i'm finding out i am.
Bobbie: Well, i'm glad that jason can give you that.
Elizabeth, i've been there, too. Maybe jason is a friend -- just a friend -- right now. But if that were to change and something were to happen to him, i'd hate to see you devastated again. Not that you're going to listen to me.
Jason: Sorry to interrupt.
Hannah: No, that's all right. I'm sorry that i disturbed you.
Jason: Where's johnny?
Sonny: I told him to take the rest of the night off.
Jason: Someone planted a bomb in elizabeth webber's studio.
Sonny: A bomb? What are you -- anybody hurt?
Jason: No, no one's hurt. I saw one of sorel's guys outside. He saw me. He took off. I knew something was up. I caught up with him, and me and roy here made him explain why he was so nervous. I went up, i got elizabeth out. Roy stayed behind and defused the bomb.
Sonny: That's a useful skill.
Roy: Yeah, yeah. Like i told the cops, you learn a lot of interesting things in prison.
Jason: Then taggert took us in, and alexis came down and cut us loose.
Sonny: End-of-the-year bonus.
Roy: I don't need that. You know, seriously, it was fun, you know? I'm just happy that you and the young lady are ok. And i got to take off, so i'll catch you -- catch you later at the warehouse.
Jason: Standup guy. Didn't answer any questions. Cool with taggert.
Sonny: Almost too good to be true.
Hannah: I can explain.
Roy: You don't have to explain. I understand. You want to lose your badge. You want to go to prison, don't you?
Hannah: Look, i just -- roy: All you have to do, the only thing you have to do, is back off, and you know it.
Sonny: This is sorel's second attempt.
Jason: Second? He came after you?
Sonny: At the warehouse. Almost got flattened by a pallet of coffee beans. And roy pushed me out of the way. You see what i'm saying? It's almost too good to be true. This guy, i don't --
jason: You want to check him out?
Sonny: I got benny on it. You ok?
Jason: Yeah.
Sonny: Hannah just, you know, she just showed up –
Jason: Sonny, i don't want to know. I'm just keeping you on top of things.
Sonny: All right.
A. J. : Sorry. It turns out that carly was stuck in the elevator with sonny corinthos.
Monica: Oh, well, had you stayed through dinner, you would have been saved that experience because we had no trouble going down in the elevator.
Carly: Michael seems like he's coming down something, and i just wanted to get home to him.
Monica: Yes, i know. You mentioned that, and so i looked in on him, and he just seemed fine. He was sleeping like a baby.
Carly: Good.
Alan: Well, speaking of bed –
Monica: Oh, shall we?
Alan: Hmm. Excuse us.
A. J. : Would you look at that? Hmm?
Carly: Hmm?
A. J. : After everything they've been through, despite all their differences, they're making it.
Carly: Yeah.
A. J. : And if they can, so can we.
Carly: Bottom line, a. j. -- they love each other, you know?
A. J. : Bottom line this -- we are going to make this marriage work. You're not going anywhere. Jason's moved on. He's with elizabeth webber now. Deal with it.
