Taggert: Well, well, well. Isn't this cozy. The two of you comparing notes who'd sell their mother out for less?

Sonny: Come on and join us, detective. Moreno was just telling me how happy he is that I'm back in port charles.

Felicia: Oh, did jason leave it behind?

Bobbie: Well, not exactly.

Felicia: What? Michael? No -- oh -- hello! I thought I saw jason's bodyguards outside. How are you? Hi. Look who's here. He's bunny. It's bunny rabbit.

[Michael coos]

Felicia: Yeah. What's going on?

Bobbie: Well, jason's back in port charles, and he had some things to do, so he dropped michael off.

Michael: Dada.

Felicia: Wasn't he supposed to have kidnapped michael?

Bobbie: Yeah, well, carly lied, as usual.

Carly: Jason, thank god you're back. Oh, there's so much I want to tell you.

Jason: No, no, no, no.

Carly: Let go of me. Where is my son, jason? Where is michael? You can't just disappear with my son. He is my son. He's not yours.

A.J.: Get away from her, jason, now.

Carly: A.J., Thank god you're here. I came back in to get my purse. He just showed up out of nowhere.

A.J.: So what happened? What, did it finally dawn on you that people go to jail for kidnapping?

Jason: I never kidnapped anybody.

A.J.: Then what do you call it?

Jason: Michael and I left town for a couple days. Some people like to call that a vacation.

A.J.: Jeez, you know, that's not going to work. You can't abduct a child and then change your mind and call it a misunderstanding. Where is michael?

Jason: What's it to you?

A.J.: Because I intend on bringing him back here. You have no more right to my son. Carly admitted the truth. Michael is miñE. Now where is he? All right, fine. I'll call the police.

Bobbie: It really hurts me to admit this, but the second I heard carly's story about jason kidnapping michael, I knew it wasn't true.

Felicia: How?

Bobbie: Because jason loves michael too much to deprive him of his mother and because carly had already moved in with the quartermaines. I just -- I got a bad feeling about the whole thing.

Felicia: Did you confront her?

Bobbie: Yeah. Yeah, of course, because I thought I could stop it from going any further.

Felicia: You're a very optimistic person, bobbie.

Bobbie: Yeah, well, you know, things really have been better between us lately. It really has been warmer, and it's been more honest. When I was over at ruby's and I was packing up ruby's things, carly came over, and she spent time with me, and she was really very supportive.

Felicia: What happened?

Bobbie: She stuck to her story. She lied to me again, and then she claimed she did it all for michael. You're not surprised, are you?

Felicia: Oh, it's not my place to be negative about carly to you about your daughter, especially when I know that you're trying to understand her and to love her. But, bobbie, carly is not one of my favorite people.

Bobbie: Oh, felicia, don'T. You know it's really not a good time to start on her.

Felicia: Well, you know what? It never is. She hurt you, she hurt tony, she hurt robin, and now jason, and he's lied for her for over a year now.

Bobbie: You know, I know very well who carly is, but that doesn't mean I'm going to abandon her. I keep telling myself it's not my fault. She is the way she is. But yet, I still feel responsible for that.

Felicia: Why? Because you gave her up for adoption over years and years ago?

Bobbie: Yeah, well, I wasn't in any position to be a mother. But still, I can't help thinking if I'd been with her all this time, she might really be different.

Felicia: Maybe. But she's a grown woman now. You don't have to take responsibility for her actions.

Bobbie: Yeah, but she's still my daughter. I can't give up on her, either.

Sonny: Thanks for the offer, lieutenant, but see, I don't believe violence settles anything.

Taggert: How about you,ne mr. Moreno? I know how you hate competition. Now's your chance to get rid of it.

Moreno: Well, you know, I am so overwhelmed by your selflessness. But, no, thank you. I'm sure our paths will cross again.

Sonny: Stay in touch. He hides his feelings, but he cares.

Taggert: This is all a big joke to you, isn't it, sonny?

Sonny: Only except for the parts when you show up.

Taggert: Yeah, well, you better get used to it because things are about to get worse. You see, the way I see it, the way you stay out of jail is to beat me again and again. I only got to beat you one time, sonny. The odds are on my side. Sooner or later you're going down.

Sonny: For what? Too much mocha in my java?

Taggert: That fake coffee business isn't fooling anybody. It's a cover, and we're going to blow it.

Sonny: I'm curious about something, taggert. What were you doing while I was away?

Taggert: I'll tell you what.

Sonny: What?

Taggert: I lay in my bed every night thinking about what I could have done different to put you and morgan behind bars, and then I slam myself for not working hard enough. And I swore -- I swore if I ever got another chance, I was never going to let you get away again.

Sonny: You ever think of buying a tv?

[Pager beeps]

Sonny: That must be the commissioner wondering why you're harassing me against his orders.

Taggert: Never.

Helena: Doing business is such a broad term these days, mr. Jacks. Precisely what do you have in mind?

Jax: Well, I'm interested in bidding on several cassadine subsidiaries. Unfortunately, the entire estate has been frozen.

Helena: Only temporarily. It seems that the heir apparent of our family fortune wasn't as apparent as we thought.

Jax: See,nstead of waiting for the court to appoint someone as trustee, I was hoping I could speak to someone now about my offer.

Helena: That would be me.

Jax: Oh, I wasn't aware a decision had been made.

Helena: It's a minor technicality.

Jax: You sound very confident.

Helena: Does that intimidate you?

Jax: On the contrary. I've always been drawn to confident women.

Nikolas: Alexis.

Alexis: I'm surprised you want to speak to me at all.

alexis: Your father used the threat of what helena would do to you to keep me quiet. And I stayed quiet. And while I was quiet, he stole $200 million from the estate. I don't want the truth to hurt anyone, nikolas. I just can't be silent anymore.

Alexis: No. No. I just want to be considered, and I just want to be considered.

Nikolas: Then why not try and work with stefan to get what you feel you deserve?

Alexis: I -- have a feeling that he'd have a problem with that.

Jax: I'll try to be patient.

Helena: Good. Although, I must remind you that a reversal of fortune such as yours can often lead to mistakes in judgment, particularly in the company one keeps.

Nikolas: Thanks, but I already know who my enemies are.

Helena: Then I'll do my very best not to worry about you. But do give your grandmother a call once in a while. The golden years can be so lonely.

Alexis: You know, the cassadines suffered a big loss when it turned out you weren't the heir.

Bobbie: Even now part of me wants to back carly because I believe every mother has a right to be with her child. And I know how much my support would mean to her.

Bobbie: And then she'd just turn around and pull another stunt the first chance she got.

Felicia: I know that it's an unpleasant conclusion, but if it's real, you might as well face it.

Bobbie: I used to think that what carly wanted more than anything was jason. Now I'm not so sure.

Felicia: A.J. Comes with prestige and a mansion. I guess she chose it.

Bobbie: Yeah, or maybe somehow she thinks she can have it all. You know what the sad part is about all of this mess? The person who michael loves the most has the least chance of remaining his parent.

A.J.: All right, thank you. Police will be here any minute. Until then, there's nothing to say.

Jason: I already spoke to a lawyer. The police can't do a thing.

Monica: Jason. Oh, I'm so glad you're here. I didn't think I was going to see you again.

A.J.: Well, you better get a good look because he'll be in jail by the end of the day.

Monica: You called the police?

A.J.: Absolutely.

Monica: But --

A.J.: He kidnapped my son.

Monica: Is michael here?

Jason: He's safe.

Monica: In port charles?

taggert: I guess they were right. It's the return of the baby snatcher.

A.J.: We were just getting to why he came back.

Monica: And I'm sure he has an explanation.

Jason: I took michael on a trip, and now we're back.

Taggert: Ms. Benson filed a report stating you kidnapped her son.

Jason: Well, she made a mistake.

Taggert: Ms. Benson?

A.J.: Carly? It's ok. Go ahead. You don't have to be afraid.

Taggert: Before you answer, you should be advised that kidnapping could be very hard to prove.

A.J.: Why?

Taggert: Mr. Morgan has been your son's custodial parent since the day he was born. And if the boy is back in port charles like he says, then I'm not sure you'd have a case.

A.J.: Yeah? And what about the court order for the blood test?

Jason: I already told you -- my attorney petitioned for refusal to comply.

A.J.: And I've obtained another one. You have no choice.

Jason: I never saw it.

A.J.: Really? Let me help you out. Take a look at that. I had another one made just in case.

Taggert: Oh. You have 24 hours for you and your son to submit for a blood test. If you fail, you will be booked.

Jason: Give it to me.

Jason: There will never be a blood test, ever. % *

A.J.: Hey, jason, what, do you think we're bluffing here? This court order is not an invitation. It's a legal document.

Jason: I'm not letting anyone stick michael with needles to prove something you already know. You're michael's biological father.

Monica: I'm proud of you, jason.

A.J.: Why?

Monica: Well, it proves he's acting in michael's best interests.

A.J.: Not yet. Carly and I would like to see our son.

Jason: Carly can see michael anytime. You're not getting near him.

A.J.: What? Taggert?

Taggert: Mr. Morgan's name is on the child's birth certificate. Until there's a judgment, there's nothing I can do.

A.J.: What? This is ludicrous. This is a man who has no regard for the law, but yet he keeps finding a way to hide behind it.

Monica: Putting him in jail isn't going to prove anything.

A.J.: Yeah, well, it will for me.

Carly: Hey, you know what? Stop it, ok? Just lay off here. I have missed michael every single minute from the moment he was gone. I want to see my son. Everything else can wait.

Jason: Let's go.

A.J.: No. You're not taking her anywhere. She's not going anywhere with you until we know where michael is.

Monica: You might as well tell us, jason. We're going to find out anyway.

Jason: He's at bobbie'S. And if A.J. Tries to come in, I will make sure he gets arrested for trespassing.

A.J.: Well, you just admitted that michael was my son. You have no right to keep him away from me.

Monica: Does he?

Taggert: Mr. Quartermaine will need a writ from a judge granting him access to the child. Until then, mr. Morgan has the right to withhold visitation.

A.J.: Fine. You'll have it by morning.

Taggert: Are there any other questions? Would you like me to remove mr. Morgan from the premises?

Monica: No.

jason: Carly, I'm going back to bobbie'S. You can come with me if you want.

Carly: Actually, I think I'd prefer to have A.J. Drive me.

Jason: Suit yourself.

Monica: Jason, thank you for bringing michael back.

Jason: I brought him back to see his mother.

A.J.: Don't you get too comfortable. This is the last time you're going to keep me away from my son.

A.J.: What?

Carly: It doesn't pay to antagonize him. It really doesn'T. You know, the good thing and the best thing s that michael's back.

Felicia: In your heart, who makes the best parent for michael?

Bobbie: Aw, that's not fair.

Felicia: Why?

Bobbie: Because you know the answer is jason.

Felicia: Well, if it's true, why are you running away from it?

Bobbie: Because it means turning against carly, and that's something I don't want to do.

Felicia: What if you don't have a choice?

Jax: You know, I understand that you've grown up in an environment of distrust, but if I have to explain myself to you on a daily basis, then this working arrangement is over.

Jax: Who's going to be assigned trustee of the cassadine estate. According to helena, she is the one.

Alexis: She knows something. I sensed that at general hospital when she found out that nikolas wasn't the heir.

Jax: What made you think that?

Alexis: Because she was subdued as if she was expecting it.

Jax: Do you think she already knew?

Alexis: If she did, nikolas would have been dead years ago. She has the inside track on something, and we need to find out what it is.

Sonny: Hi. I just got a call from jason. He's on his way over to bobbie spencer'S. Carly and A.J. Are right behind him, so I think you should be there.

Jax: I understand.

Tony: Well, there have been a couple of articles in neurological journals, and overall, there just is a lot of research still left to do on this disorder. So the first thing that I thought we should do --

sonny: Hold on. The disorder -- is it the same one that brenda's mother had?

Tony: That's right.

Sonny: So you're paying to find a cure to ease_ your guilt over letting brenda die.

Sonny: Wow.

Monica: With jason. There wasn't any kidnapping. Carly made up the whole thing.

Alan: I'm glad michael is safe. But if jason took the baby without his mother's permission, that is kidnapping.

Bobbie: Jason's not here.

Alexis: He's on his way back from the quartermaines' with A.J. And carly right behind him. I want to make sure that nothing happens that the quartermaines or your daughter can misconstrue in court.

Jason: Hey, michael. Was everything ok while I was gone? Good. Sonny ask you to meet me?

Alexis: This is a really critical time, jason, and we can't afford to make any mistakes.

Bobbie: What happened at the quartermaines'?

Jason: Well, as soon as I got there, A.J. Called the police, taggert showed and told me michael and I had to take the blood test.

Alexis: At this point, it's best to comply.

Bobbie: Why?

Alexis: Because we can claim that this is the first proof jason has that he's not the biological father, and we can allege that carly led him to believe that he was and that jason just acted in good faith.

Jason: I already told them that I knew A.J. Was the father.

Alexis: Why did you do that?

Jason: Well, because I didn't want doctors sticking needles into michael for no reason, and, ms. Davis, it's the truth.

Alexis: I understand that you think your reasons are valid, but if you want me to continue as your attorney, you can't make any more decisions without me, understand?

Bobbie: Jason, she's righoht.Itk custody fights can be vicious. And if you're worried about fighting dirty, you can be sure A.J. And carly won't be.

[Doorbell rings]

Alexis: What did you tell her?

Jason: Carly could see michael, A.J. Couldn'T.

Alexis: Perfect. Will you tell carly to come on in, and if A.J. Is with her, please ask him to wait outside?

Carly: I'm here to see michael.

Jason: Hey, michael. Carly came to see you. I bet she missed you a lot.

Tony: Brenda's mother suffered from a disorder which causes episodes of delusion and manic depression. And it's my belief that she had one of those episodes when she was in the car with brenda, and that's what led to the --

sonny: I know. I know where it led. That's why brenda should have not been in the car in the first place.

Jax: Brenda was my fiancee --

sonny: Oh, right.

Jax: Not my prisoner.

Tony: At least jax is trying to help people, unlike you and morgan, who use dirty money to clean up your image.

Sonny: Oh, let's all give thanks to jax for giving research grants to a kidnapper who left a girl with H.I.V. To die of pneumonia.

Tony: Why don't you call me at G.H., And I'll fill you in on the rest of the details, all right?

Jax: I'll do that.

Katherine: Let me get this.

Nikolas: What?

Katherine: It's an eyelash. Do you want to make a wish?

Nikolas: What for?

Katherine: It's a superstition.

Katherine: I probably shouldn't have touched you. It's just -- it's just difficult to resist.

Nikolas: Yeah, I seem to be having the same problem.

Katherine: Then why are we resisting?

Nikolas: When I heard you tell helena that you were using me to get to my father, it's like something exploded inside of me, and I won't put myself in that position again.

Katherine: So you're saying there's no chance for us?

Nikolas: I won't tolerate lies or secrets. But if there was ever anything real between us in the first place, I guess I'm willing to find out.

Katherine: That's all I ask, nikolas -- an opportunity to prove myself.

Jax: Ahem. You know, brenda's mother inherited her madness. But you drove brenda to hers.

Sonny: And you were supposed to be the cure, the man brenda could depend on to help rebuild her life? Then you let her in the car with a madwoman. Brenda died because you weren't paying attention, because you're spoiled and you're easily bored. You get a toy, and you don't know how to value it. You let somebody drive -- you let somebody drive that car over a cliff. And then you go on with your life being golden boy. Enjoy it. *Vb ral

monica: Oh, oh. Jason admitted that he is not michael's father.

Alan: And what does that prove in your mind?

Monica: Well, it proves that jason wants some kind of a compromise.

Alan: Let me tell you something, monica -- the only reason jason came back is because he knew he was going to get caught sooner or later. He has no intention of cooperating.

Monica: I think your support of A.J. Is quite admirable, alan, considering it hasn't been there much in the past. But that doesn't mean that jason is wrong on every count.

Alan: Jason's attitude about michael's custody has been dreadful, and I think it's time that one of us at least recognized that.

Monica: We can't do this.

Alan: What?

Monica: We can't -- we can't take sides against our children. If we're going to get through this as a family, we have got to stick together.

Alan: And if we disagree?

Monica: Well, then, the very least, we can't let it come between the two of us.

Alan: Ok, then. So maybe harmony in the quartermaine family will start here and now.
