Episode #14011 ~ Belle accuses Sami of framing her for Charlie's murder. Ben makes a surprising decision about Ciara. Nicole is unhappy when Ava reveals she and Rafe shared a kiss. Lucas and Sami try to sell his lie to Chloe.

Jan: Here you are lecturing me about shawn because he's a married man, and you can go on and on about rafe when you're a married woman.

Nicole: What exactly are you implying?

Jan: I'm not implying anything. I'm saying it outright. Maybe you're in love with rafe hernandez.

Nicole: Oh, please, that's absurd.

Jan: Is it?

Nicole: Yes.

[Sultry music]

Ava: [Exhales] Rafe.

Rafe: Shh, don't say anything.

Ava: [Moaning]

Shawn: Go away, I'm busy.

Jan: Working on belle's case, I assume? Must be terrible to find out it was your wife who killed the rapist.

Shawn: She didn't kill anyone.

Jan: I suppose you have to think that. Hard to accept that the love of your life is a murderer.

Shawn: She didn't murder charlie dale, okay?

Jan: Then how do you explain the button of her coat being found at the crime scene?

Marlena: You think someone framed you for charlie's murder?

Belle: I mean, it's the only explanation that makes any sense.

John: But I saw you at charlie's in your red coat.

Belle: No, you saw someone at charlie's in my red coat, which means someone went to charlie's apartment in that coat deliberately, and then shot him to death. But I mean, who would hate me enough to do something like that? Oh, my god. I know who it was.

Marlena: Who was it?

Belle: [Scoffs] I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. I mean, she despises me. She always has.

John: Who are you thinking about?

Belle: Isn't it obvious? It was sami.

Sami: Lucas, oh, my god. I cannot believe that you told chloe that you have an inoperable brain tumor. I mean, who do you think you are, me?

Lucas: Look, you told me to seduce her, all right?

Sami: Yeah--did you even try flowers or, I don't know, candy?

Lucas: Did it ever occur to you that me throwing myself at chloe after all these months is a little bit improbable? I can't do that, okay? I haven't texted her. I haven't called her. I can't just show up and say, "I want you now." It doesn't work like that. Plus, I had to come up with something to explain the urgency.

Sami: Yeah, yeah. You could have told her that, I don't know, seeing her again, it inflamed you. That the ember burning inside of you, it just burst into flames. No, no, you go with, "let do it before I start to lose my motor skills."

Lucas: You know what? If you're the one who has all the answers, maybe you should seduce her yourself next time. And oh, by the way, you're welcome. Now, I had to, what-- I had to embarrass myself-- I had to embarrass myself because of kristen who was gonna tell ej about you-- you and your dirty little secret.

Sami: I'm sorry. It's not my secret, okay? It's our secret, and it's not dirty. You were there for me when I really needed you, and I appreciate it. I'm sorry that I dragged you into this, lucas. Sincerely.

Lucas: [Sighs] Well, what are ex-husbands for?

Sami: And anyway, we're doing a good thing. We have to get chloe away from brady, or kristen will. Believe me, we both know her methodology.

Lucas: Yeah, but sami, you have to understand there's no way, okay-- I can't undo the fact that i told chloe that I'm dying.

[Sighs]

Lucas: Uh, chloe, hi.

Sami: Chloe's there? Don't hang up, lucas.

[Sighs] Damn it.

Chloe: Hey.

Lucas: I wasn't expecting you.

Chloe: Yeah, obviously not. Sorry, harold let me in. And I just wanted to bring you some green juice, you know? It's good for you. Good health benefits.

Lucas: Oh, yeah, green juice. Thank you, thank you. I actually really need this, health benefits and stuff. How long were you standing there?

Chloe: Long enough to hear you talking to sami. Lucas, I think it's time you told me the truth.

[Both panting]

Ava: [Breathing deeply] Where'd that come from?

Rafe: I'm not sure.

[Knocking on door]

Nicole: Rafe? Ava? Is anybody home?

[Knocking on door]

Rafe: [Clears throat] Uh...

Ava: I'll get it.

Rafe: Okay.

Ava: Hey, nicole.

Nicole: Hi, hi. I'm so glad I caught you before you left for work.

Rafe: Oh, why? Is something wrong?

Jan: You know what's weird, just plain weird? When belle came to see me at the hospital, you know, to sign our little contract? As she was leaving, I noticed her coat was missing a button.

Shawn: I told you to go away.

Jan: And she didn't notice it, and when I pointed it out to her, she went white as a sheet. And I thought, "god, she is so flippin' nitpicky, freaking out about a missing button." But now I realize she was terrified. She was like...

[Gasps] "Where did I lose it? Did I leave it at charlie's?" Then I read in the paper that's exactly where the cops found it.

Shawn: Jan, damn it, she was never at charlie's apartment, okay?

Jan: But the button--

Shawn: That button is a laughable piece of evidence that trask used to make rafe arrest belle. But once that ruthless woman pulls her head out of her ass, she's gonna realize there's not enough to convict, and she's gonna drop the charges.

Melinda: Like hell I will.

John: So you think the person I saw in your red coat was sami?

Marlena: That's ridiculous. First of all, sami doesn't hate you.

Belle: Oh, right, yeah. She's nuts about me. That's why she sold me on the black market.

Marlena: That's ancient history. She would never frame you for murder.

Belle: Oh, yes, she would. Yes, she would to cover her own butt. Sami flew here to kill charlie because of what he did to allie, but sami brady doesn't like to pay for her crimes, so she broke into my house and took my coat, and pretended to be me. I mean, it had to be sami.

Sami: What had to be sami?

Belle: You framing me for murder.

Theo: You sure you're ready to go?

Ciara: I mean, why wouldn't I be?

Theo: It's happening pretty fast. Maybe there's someone else you need to say goodbye to? Ciara, there's no rush. We can always leave next week.

Ciara: No. I'm ready now.

Theo: No regrets?

Ciara: None. This is what I want.

Theo: Then let's do it.

[Elevator dings]

Ciara: [Exhales] It's my 5:52 woke-up-like-this migraine medicine.

Lucas: I'm so sorry, chloe. I really am. You must think I'm a jerk.

Chloe: No, I just-- I don't understand. Yesterday you told me that you didn't want anyone to know that you're sick. And then just now, you were talking to sami, right?

Lucas: Well, yeah, right. Yeah, I was thinking about what you said earlier, you know, how my family has a right to know. And so I told sami. She's the only one who knows.

Chloe: Okay, yeah, I understand that. I mean, she's will and allie's mother.

Lucas: Yeah, but we decided we're not gonna tell them.

Chloe: Good, I think that's a good thing until you go see dr. Dunn.

Lucas: Dr. Dunn? He's not my doctor.

Chloe: Yeah, but he should be, 'cause he's the best.

Lucas: Wait, I already have a doctor.

Chloe: Yeah, who told you that this was hopeless. I mean, what kind of a terrible thing is that for a doctor to tell someone? And in this day and age? I mean, come on. Lucas, there've been so many amazing advancements in cancer treatments the past few years. I've had friends who've had serious cancer, like, stage iv, and they're doing totally fine because of immunotherapies and all kinds of new cancer drugs. I mean, cancer is no longer a death sentence.

Lucas: Right, yeah, no, I know that, but--

Chloe: But what? No, you can't just throw in the towel. You need a second opinion. And like I said, dr. Dunn is the best.

Lucas: [Sighs] You know what? I'm gonna think about it. I'll think about it.

Chloe: Wait, you don't really have time to think about this, so I took it upon myself to make you an appointment.

Lucas: You what?

Chloe: Yes, and he's waiting for us right now, so let's go.

Lucas: [Sighs]

Sami: Wow, this is starting to feel like déj vu. Is there something that ever happens to you in your life, belle, that you don't blame on me?

Belle: Should I go through the litany of the things you've done to me?

Sami: I have no reason to frame you, I was cleared.

Belle: Yeah, you have no reason now, but you had every reason the day you killed charlie dale.

Marlena: Belle.

Sami: Do you even know what she's talking about?

Belle: Do you know that my father thinks--

John: A red button-- a red button that matches belle's coat was found in charlie's apartment. And since she's never been there, she thinks someone took her coat, pretended to be her and killed charlie.

Belle: Because I sure as hell didn't do it.

Sami: Well, I sure as hell didn't do it either.

[Scoffs]

Jan: I think I might have a little talk with your supervisor, tell him I don't appreciate one of his detectives discussing the details of an ongoing case with a civilian.

Shawn: Look, I didn't tell her anything that's not already all over the internet.

Melinda: And instead of denigrating the state's case, you should be out there finding evidence to convict the murderer.

Shawn: We have analyzed, and we have reanalyzed every single piece of evidence out there, and that button? That button is the only thing that links belle to the crime scene. And even if we can put her there, doesn't mean that she's the shooter. That place was like grand central station that night.

Melinda: Detective brady, I was hoping that you were professional enough so that you can remain objective, but clearly you aren'T.

Shawn: I am objective. Objective enough to know that belle would never leave a button at a crime scene.

Melinda: So I'm going to ask commissioner hernandez to pull you from this case.

Shawn: Okay, fine. I mean, you can get sherlock freaking holmes on this case, and nobody's ever gonna find a piece of evidence that's gonna prove that belle shot that jerk. Because you know why? 'Cause she didn't, that's why.

Melinda: I think you're protesting too much. There's evidence out there, and I'm gonna find it.

John: I saw the shooting. I heard the gunshot because i was right there standing in the doorway when charlie was killed.

Marlena: Who killed him? Who fired the gun?

John: It was our daughter-- I can't-- it was belle.

Nicole: So I ran into jan spears and she was over the moon about belle's arrest. Oh, ava, I'm sorry. Maybe you don't wanna hear this.

Rafe: No, it's okay. We were actually just talking about the case.

Nicole: Okay, well, I thought maybe you were kind of upset when you answered the door earlier.

Ava: Oh, no. No, no, no, I'm fine.

Rafe: You know, I was saying to ava that I thought belle was innocent, that she wasn't even there at charlie's that night.

Nicole: What about the button?

[Cell phone beeps]

Rafe: Oh, it's trask. What a joy. Huh, I've been summoned.

Nicole: Oh, rafe, it looks like you have a little jam or I don't know-- something on your face. You might wanna get that.

Rafe: Oh--oh, okay, great. So we'll talk later.

Ava: Mm.

Rafe: I'll give you a call. Sorry.

Nicole: Yeah, no worries.

Rafe: Bye.

Nicole: Wow, he seemed a little stressed. I guess who wouldn't be, working for a ray of sunshine like trask?

Ava: Yeah, well, you know, he's got a lot on his mind.

Nicole: You do too. You wanna talk about it?

Ava: Um... you know, maybe--maybe I do. It's just that-- just before you showed up here, rafe kissed me.

Nicole: So, that wasn't jam on rafe's face.

Ava: No.

Nicole: And apparently you kissed him back.

Ava: Yeah, yeah, I did, and maybe I shouldn't have. You know, and he's got a lot on his plate, and I don't really know if he knew what he was doing. He thought hope was coming back.

Nicole: Wait, they found her?

Ava: Mm-hmm, yeah. He was excited to see her, and then ciara called him and said she was going to south africa, and that hope was gonna meet her there.

Nicole: And rafe wanted to get back with hope?

Ava: I don't know about that, but I was trying to comfort him, and he kissed me.

Nicole: [Laughs softly] And you kissed him back.

Ava: [Laughs] Yeah.

Nicole: You know, I think you're right. I think you shouldn't have done that.

Melinda: And I want that on my desk within the hour.

Rafe: Oh, what now?

Melinda: I want brady off the dale case. He's lost his objectivity.

Rafe: Oh, why's that? 'Cause he didn't say "how high" when you asked him to jump?

Melinda: I'd watch my tone if I were you. You're in charge of a murder case that only got solved after weeks of inept police work.

Rafe: It's still not solved.

Melinda: The killer was arrested.

Rafe: Someone was arrested under your orders based on a flimsy piece of evidence that we found at the crime scene that could have easily been planted by the actual killer.

Melinda: Your job isn't to criticize my decisions, it's to find the evidence that will lead to a conviction.

Rafe: Right, to find evidence, not to manufacture it. So I'm gonna go back to the crime scene, and I'm gonna look for evidence, but when I don't find anything to implicate belle brady in the murder, you're gonna be forced to drop the charges.

Melinda: There's evidence out there, and I'm gonna find it!

[Scoffs]

Jan: If the cops won't help you nail that bitch, I will.

Sami: Look, belle, I see that you're upset, but come on, you're starting to lose it.

Belle: Don't you condescend to me.

Sami: Okay, you're making an ass out of yourself. Is that better?

Marlena: Sami.

Belle: I'm sorry if I'm overreacting. I just get a little touchy when my sister frames me for murder!

Marlena: Stop this. Both of you, stop this. Belle, there's no way she could've taken your coat. She was on a plane when charlie was killed.

Belle: So she says.

Sami: So says the salem pd. Look, belle, I know I've done some bad things to you--

Belle: Oh, that's an understatement.

Sami: But I would never make you take the rap for a murder for me. And besides, if I was looking for a fall guy, I would pick someone who was a more credible murderer, and not a wet noodle like you!

Belle: Oh, my god!

Marlena: Sami, sami, sami. Stop it, stop it. Weren't you on your way out?

Sami: Yes. Thank you, I was. Obviously, this is not gonna get us anywhere. Look, seriously, belle, you gotta just relax. It's gonna be fine. Rafe is not gonna stop until he finds out who really did kill charlie dale.

Belle: Yeah, right.

Sami: And you know what? I don't have time to wait here for you to gather up the strength to issue an apology that I deserve because you have already ruined a not-great day. I have other fires to put out.

John: See you.

Chloe: I don't understand why you don't wanna go see a doctor who could potentially save your life.

Lucas: Because my doctor told me my tumor was inoperable.

Chloe: Yeah, but what if he's wrong? What if there is some sort of treatment that could help shrink or destroy that tumor without even surgery? We don't know. I mean, lucas, you listened to me about telling sami, so why won't you listen to me about this?

Lucas: Because I don't wanna hurt you.

Chloe: I don't understand.

Lucas: You will, once i tell you the truth.

Ciara: What are you doing here?

Claire: I am telling you that doing something this drastic is a huge mistake. You're just gonna push her further away.

Ben: I just came to give you something.

Ciara: I don't want anything from you.

Theo: I thought I told you to stay away from her.

Ben: I'm going. Please. Just take this.

Ciara: You tried to give that to me before, when you came with your bag of junk.

Ben: That's right, because this is your engagement ring.

Ciara: Yes, I know. It's my engagement ring. But ben, I didn't want it then, and I definitely don't want it now. I don't want anything that reminds me of the fact that i was insane enough to marry you.

Ben: Then don't take it for me. Take it for your dad.

Nicole: [Clears throat]

Ava: Are you mad at me?

Nicole: [Sighs] No. No, I'm just worried about rafe. He's not the iron man he wants everyone to think he is.

Ava: I know that, I know that. And I know that he was upset, but...

Nicole: But what?

Ava: Well, since I've been staying here, we've actually-- we've gotten very close.

Nicole: Because he's a nice guy who looks out for people in trouble. I don't think you should make much out of that.

Ava: Nicole, I'm not a teenager. Look, I know that he let me move in here so I'd be safe. But, you know, he let me stay because we enjoy each other's company. And now I'm thinking that it, you know, might be more than that.

Nicole: You think you and rafe...

Ava: Well, yeah. Why not?

Belle: Man, I hate it when sami's right.

John: Luckily, that is a very rare occurrence.

Belle: No, I did lose it. I'm just-- I don't know, dad, I'm scared. I mean, if you think that I was the one in the coat, what are the cops gonna think?

John: Nothing, because they're never gonna know about it.

Belle: Dad.

John: That's why I stopped you from telling sami. We're gonna keep this between ourselves.

Belle: No, dad. This is a murder investigation.

Marlena: I think your dad's right. Somebody's framing you. I think until we know what john saw, we should keep that to ourselves until the killer is found.

Melinda: You're jan spears, aren't you?

Jan: Yeah. And I know you've probably heard some negative things about me.

Melinda: And read your rap sheet.

Jan: But you need to hear what I have to say.

Melinda: You have three minutes.

Jan: Okay, so, you know I was in a coma because john black strangled me.

Melinda: But you never pressed charges.

Jan: Because I wanted to put all that bad blood in the past. So, to that end, when I was released from the hospital, I went to see dr. Evans. And then I heard her talking to her husband. And I heard him tell her he saw belle brady shoot charlie dale.

Melinda: [Laughs] You're telling me that john black was an eyewitness to the murder?

Jan: That's right.

Melinda: You know, among the negative things I've heard against you is that for years you've waged a terrorist operation against belle brady and her family. Another one is that you lie like a rug. What you told me is not only hearsay, but crap.

Jan: Are you done?

Melinda: Yes, I am.

Jan: What if I told you the conversation was recorded?

Chloe: The truth about what?

Lucas: The truth is, is I care about you, I really do. And I always wondered, you know, what would've happened if things turned out differently between us, you know? Maybe that ship has sailed. The point is--the point is, is I took advantage of you.

Chloe: No, no, lucas, you got some horrible news, and reached out to an old friend, that's it. But could we please talk about this in the car? I don't want you miss your appointment with dr. Dunn.

Lucas: I can't go on that appointment-- I'm telling you, I can't-- the only reason why I reached out to you was because of sami.

Sami: Lucas, are you all right? Or is the tumor already affecting your behavior? You're strong.

Lucas: I cannot do this anymore, it's not fair to chloe.

Sami: You're right. It isn't fair to chloe. Look, chloe, I'm so sorry. He didn't tell me about the tumor because he knew what I had just been through with ej. And you didn't wanna burden me, did you?

Lucas: I'm gonna tell her the truth now.

Sami: Listen, he understands what a burden he's put on you now, and--

Chloe: No, it's not a burden, I wanna help.

Sami: Yeah, bless you for that.

Chloe: Yeah, which is why i made an appointment for a specialist, but he is refusing to go. Lucas, it can't hurt. It can literally save your life.

Lucas: I don't need a specialist, 'cause I'm not dying, okay?

Sami: Oh, my god.

[Sighs] I called the doctor, and he said he might start to act irrationally.

Chloe: Oh, you talked to his doctor?

Sami: Yeah, of course. Look, can I speak to you privately?

Chloe: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sami: I called the doctor right after lucas told me the news, and he warned me about stuff like this. But I want this to work, okay? So would you mind calling and seeing if maybe we could just push it back, that we might just be a little late? I'm gonna try to talk some sense into him.

Chloe: Of course. And he seems really mad at you.

Sami: I know, I know, but I'm gonna just focus on will and on allie--try to convince him to do it for them.

Chloe: Okay, good luck.

Sami: Thank you.

[Mouthing words] I swear to you, if you tell chloe that you are not dying, I will kill you myself.

Lucas: You...

Melinda: A recording? That sounds convenient. Why would there be a recording?

Jan: I think it was some kind of session or something. But I'm telling you there was a recorder on the desk and it was running.

Melinda: If you're jerking my chain, you will pay, big time.

Jan: I'm only telling you what I saw and what I heard.

Melinda: Okay, I'll get a search warrant. But I'll need to get a statement from you.

Jan: Please, don't make me do that.

Melinda: It's standard procedure.

Jan: John black's already tried to kill me. If he finds out it was me who tipped you off, god only knows what he'll do to me. I can't risk it. Can't you say you got an anonymous tip or something?

Melinda: I guess if I can get that recording, I won't need your statement.

Jan: Thank you. Oh, god, I feel like the weight has been lifted off my chest.

[Sighs] I haven't been able to sleep for the past two nights. I was so scared of john, but I felt like I was helping a murderer go free.

Melinda: Not to worry. Belle brady's not getting away with it.

[Tense music]

Belle: Hey.

Shawn: Hey.

Belle: What's wrong?

Shawn: Oh, trask had me taken off the case. Said I wasn't being objective.

Belle: Oh, honey, I'm so sorry.

Shawn: Yeah, I am just mad. I feel like she's just so focused on pinning this on you that she just--she wants to shut down the entire investigation.

Marlena: But rafe won't let that happen. He's still in charge.

John: Yeah.

Shawn: Yeah, I don't want you to worry. I mean, they're gonna build a whole damn case off some stupid button. And you didn't do anything wrong, so there isn't gonna be any additional evidence.

Belle: Actually, there is.

Ava: Well, I can tell you are thrilled.

Nicole: [Sighs] Okay, it's just that rafe and i have been friends a long time. And I just want him to be happy.

Ava: Which translates into "you are not good enough for him, ava."

Nicole: You and rafe are just two very different people.

Ava: Why? Because I'm mafia and he's a cop?

Nicole: Well, that's the truth, isn't it?

Ciara: My dad?

Ben: This washer came from your father's motorcycle. Do you remember when I told you I fixed it after your crash? You take this as a reminder of him.

Ciara: [Sighs] As a repairman, I hear a lot of folks say

Lucas: I have to tell chloe the truth.

Sami: Oh, really? What's that gonna get you? You tell chloe the truth, and then she's just gonna go back to brady, and then it's gonna be up to kristen. And she's gonna eliminate chloe one way or another. Think about it. And then--you know what? Kristen's gonna call ej, and we both know how dimera men handle it when their women stray. We don't want that, do we?

Lucas: Listen, I can't go in that appointment, okay? The guy is a cancer specialist. He's gonna find out I have no cancer.

Sami: Shh! Would you--

Chloe: Thank you, doctor, we appreciate it.

Sami: Oh--oh, my god. Lucas, are you okay?

Lucas: I'm fine.

Chloe: The doctor said he'd hold the appointment-- what happened?

Sami: Lucas almost fainted.

Lucas: Well--

Sami: I don't think that he's up for seeing the specialist.

Lucas: No, I'm not. Not at all.

Chloe: Oh--oh, wow. I guess we'll reschedule, then.

Sami: Thank you. Oh, I have to run.

Lucas: Oh, too bad.

Sami: Belle has been charged with murder. I have to go be there for her.

Chloe: Yeah, don't worry, I'll take care of lucas. And please tell belle I'm thinking of her.

Sami: Thank you, I will. I will do that. And please keep me posted on his condition.

Lucas: [Mouthing words]

Sami: [Sighs] You--oh, you are a saint. Thank you.

[Mouthing words]

John: So at first all I remembered was a gunshot. But when marlena hypnotized me I also remembered standing in the doorway of charlie's apartment. And that's when I saw a woman, only from behind. She was wearing belle's red coat, and that's when she shot charlie.

Belle: Yeah, she didn't just kill charlie. She framed me for the murder.

Shawn: She left the button behind to lead us straight to you.

[Chuckles]

Belle: What? You think this is funny?

Shawn: Oh, no, I just find it to be ironic. Trask just had me taken off the case, so now I have no obligation to report what I just heard. So trask is never gonna know anything.

Rafe: Ah, there you are. Looking great, might I add. So I just spoke to the lab techs. And wouldn't you know it, no new evidence to link belle to the murder.

Melinda: Oh, sorry to ruin your "I told you so" moment, but there is new evidence. All I need to put belle brady away. Get right on it.

Nicole: Look, I'm just simply saying you and rafe are from different worlds.

Ava: Yeah, and you knew that when you talked him into letting me stay here.

Nicole: I wanted to make sure you were protected from charlie. But that situation has resolved itself.

Ava: Because charlie can't hurt me now that someone has killed him?

Nicole: I'm sorry. I'm sorry if that sounded insensitive. Look, I just--I don't understand why you stayed.

Ava: I stayed because I'm broke. And I am broke because I gave up that life that was so different from rafe'S. And I did it for my son tripp, and he understood that and respects it.

Nicole: Because that's so rafe, to feel sorry for people.

Ava: Oh, my god. You are so condescending.

Nicole: No, it's just that he tries to help people who are trying to make big changes. He has a sir galahad kind of history.

Ava: Okay, well, thank you. Thank you for the rafe 101. But I also know rafe, and he could have helped me by loaning me the deposit for an apartment. But he didn'T. He asked me to stay here, and he asked me to stay because he likes me.

Nicole: He asked you to stay because he's alone. And that's reason to start a relationship.

Ava: Huh. Now I see why rafe kissing me was so objectionable for you. You want him for yourself.

Nicole: [Scoffs]

Jan: And you'll keep my name out of it?

Melinda: Unless this is another one of your famous stunts.

Jan: I swear I told you the truth.

Melinda: Then belle brady is going down.

[Knocking on door]

John: All right, remember, no one else can know what I saw. Hey, rafe, what's going on, man? Come on in.

Rafe: Okay. Hey.

Marlena: Hey, rafe.

Shawn: Rafe, you don't have to look so somber. I know I'm off the case and I'm okay with it.

Rafe: Yeah, sorry to day, but that's not why I'm here. John, I'm actually gonna need to take you down to the station and get a statement.

John: Yeah--about what? I saw the shooting. I heard the gunshot because I was right there. I was standing in the doorway when charlie was killed.

Marlena: Who killed him? Who fired the gun?

John: It was our-- it was our daughter--I can't-- it was belle.

[Elevator dings]

Theo: Come on, ciara. We have a plane to catch.

[Plaintive music]
