Provided By Jim

Xander: I don't care what the sod eats.

I want to know about the shady

deals he's been making.

Charlie: Well, um,

you know, I don't really

have anything to report

on that score.

Xander: You don't have it?

Or you don't want to tell me

what it is?

Charlie: [clears throat]

I'm sorry?

Xander: You're a bloody awful

liar, Charlie.

You're hiding something.

And I want to know what it is.

Sarah: So,

Julie's bid for catering

is the lowest one we've gotten.

Philip: What bothers me

is if she's able to handle

the crowd.

It's a pretty big guestlist.

Sarah: Yeah.

You know what?

I will talk to my mom,

and she will know

what to say to Julie.

Philip: Good idea.

Keep waiting for Xander

to come through that door

and find us together...

Sarah: [chuckles]

Philip: Screaming

his head off.

Sarah: Yeah.

Well, you don't have anything

to worry on that front.

I made sure that he got

all of his stuff last night.

Philip: No regrets?

Sarah: After the way

he acted about us

doing a benefit together?

No.

Philip: So did you send

his things to the inn

or take them yourself?

Sarah: Why do you ask?

Philip: 'Cause I saw you

coming out of the inn

pretty late last night.

What's up with that?

Kate: So what was so urgent

that it dragged me away

from a freshly-poured martini?

Welcome back, by the way.

Rafe: Good to see you too.

Kate: Um, oh!

I wrote you up

a glowing press release

after Abe appointed you

commissioner.

And you know, I'm kind of glad

that you didn't skip town

like Gabi, I have to say.

Rafe: Well,

I appreciate that.

Kate: So I'm here why?

Rafe: Well,

I regret to inform you,

but you have been implicated

in the commission of a felony.

male announcer: Like sands

through the hourglass,

so are the "Days of Our Lives."

[soft orchestration]

Kate: Okay.

What are you talking about?

A felony?

Rafe: Does this

look familiar?

Kate: That's my gun.

How did you get it?

Rafe: Allie Horton confessed

to breaking into your lockbox

and stealing it.

Kate: Oh.

I didn't even know

it was missing.

Why did she want it?

Rafe: She intended to

blow away Tripp Dalton.

[tense music]

Ava: You're being awfully

understanding about a woman

who really hurt you.

You know that your dad

never would have kicked you

out of the house

if Kayla hadn't forced his hand.

Tripp: You don't have to

defend Dad, okay?

I know how he feels about me.

Ava: Okay, good.

I'm glad.

Tripp: And I also know

how he feels about you.

Ava: I'm sure you do.

Tripp: Look, I...

I've got to ask you something,

all right?

Please, just

try not to get upset.

Ava: Oh.

Tripp: You said something

about how everything would be

perfect if only dad were here

with us.

You're not planning on going

after him again, right?

Joey: What kind of news?

Did someone die?

Kayla: No, no, no,

it's nothing like that, honey.

Steve: Joe,

why don't you sit down?

Joey: That still

doesn't sound very good.

Kayla: No, it is good.

It's just complicated.

Steve: Why are we beating

around the bush?

Ava Vitali is alive.

[dark music]

Joey: Ava can't be alive.

I'm the one who killed her.

I watched her die.

Steve: Yeah, well,

the medical examiner thought

she was dead too.

But it turns out

she's a special case.

Joey: Has he lost it?

Kayla: No.

Steve: Dr. Rolf

came to her rescue.

Joey: Him again?

Steve: Yeah, him again.

Joey: So...

so what does this mean?

Kayla: Well, the bad news is,

if Ava is alive and well,

she's back in Salem,

and we have to deal with her.

But the good news is

Ava is alive.

Steve: And that means

you didn't kill her.

Kate: Okay,

so you're telling me

that my granddaughter

was trying to murder Tripp?

Rafe: Well, she said

she didn't want to kill him.

Kate: Oh.

What did she want to do?

Rafe: Well, she said that

she wanted to fix him

so he couldn't do

to anyone else

what he did to her.

And I'm sure

I don't need to spell it out.

Kate: Wow.

What do you know?

She really is a chip off

the old block.

Rafe: Meaning?

Kate: Well, I'm sure you've

heard that the same thing

happened to Sami in high school,

and how

she handled her revenge.

Rafe: Yes,

I've heard rumors.

Kate: I just--

this is so hard to believe.

I mean, Lucas told me

that she was distraught

after the London Police

wouldn't press charges,

but I didn't think she'd do

something this drastic.

Rafe: Yeah, well,

lucky for Tripp...

[stammers] And for her,

they were interrupted.

Now, when I spoke to her

about it, she...

she seemed genuinely remorseful.

Kate: Remorseful? Why?

I mean, I wish that

that little bastard had gotten

exactly what he deserves.

Ava: Honey, I know that you

have heard the desperate things

that I did to try

and hang on to your father.

Tripp: Yeah.

Ava: But what I was really

trying to hang on to was a...

was a fantasy life

that I could never have.

Until now.

I mean, now, I have you,

and you're living here with me,

and...

it is so much more

than I ever expected.

I'd have to be a fool

to ruin this opportunity

to finally be a mother to you.

Tripp: So...

you're not gonna cause any more

trouble between Dad and Kayla.

Ava: No.

But I just hope that

they haven't poisoned your mind

against me.

Look, I have done things

that I am not proud of.

And they've probably told you

about every single one of them.

Steve: Tripp, I'd already

told you that your mother had

had Kayla kidnapped.

Tripp: Yeah, I know.

Steve: But what you

didn't know...

was that Ava

forced me to sleep with her.

If I had refused,

she would have killed Kayla.

Tripp: [stammers]

I can't believe that

my own mother would be capable

of something like that.

That's why you think

that I am too.

Ava: Hey.

Why'd you go all silent on me?

Tripp: Because

I have heard stuff.

Kept me from sleeping at night.

Ava: Look, I am so sorry.

Let me tell you something.

When you get a second chance

at life, it makes

you want to change your ways.

And I promise you,

I will not do anything

to your dad or Kayla, I swear.

Tripp: I really hope

you mean that.

[exhales]

Look at me.

I'm sitting next to my mom.

My real mom.

I mean,

do you know how many times

I wished for that

as a little kid?

Ava: Honey, me too.

Tripp: But

at the same time...

Ava: What?

Come on, you can tell me.

Tripp: It's just, everything

that's happened lately--

you know, like

Allie pointing a gun at me.

You know, I thought

I was--I thought I was done for.

And then the front door opens

and the mother

that I thought was dead

stopped her from killing me.

And...I don't know,

I feel like my life's

been turned upside down,

like, five different ways.

Ava: I bet you do.

But listen to me:

I am here now.

And I'm not going anywhere.

And you can count on me.

Tripp: Can I?

Really?

Ava: Come on.

Why would you say that?

Tripp: That money

you left me...

Ava: Mm-hmm?

Tripp: I gave it all

to charity because I found out

it was mob money.

And then...

I'm looking around this place,

and I hear you talk

about a decorator,

and, you know,

I have to wonder.

How are you

paying for all that?

I mean, you don't have a job.

You've been lying low.

So how can you afford a place

like this?

I really hope it's not because

you're still taking blood money

from your family.

Because if you are...

I'm out of here.

Sarah: Are you having me

followed?

Philip: No.

Sarah: Then how did you

see me coming out of the inn?

Philip: I just happened to

be walking through the Square.

So if you weren't seeing

Xander, what were you doing

at the inn?

Sarah: Okay, I saw Xander.

Not that it's any

of your business.

But I took him all of his stuff

so that he wouldn't have

an excuse to come back here.

Philip: Ah. I see.

Sarah: If it makes you feel

any better,

we got into a giant fight.

Philip: About me?

Sarah: Yeah, what else?

Philip: Very sorry

to hear that.

Sarah: No, you're not.

Philip: I'm very sorry if he

said things that hurt you.

Sarah: Yeah, actually,

he did.

He did hurt me.

I feel like I finally saw

who Xander really is,

and...I hate him.

Look,

I know that you're trying

to get Xander fired from Titan.

So if there is anything

I can do to help,

all you have to do is ask.

Charlie: Corporate espionage

was not in my job description,

which is good,

because I really suck at it.

Xander: Can't disagree

with that, mate.

Charlie: I'm sorry, okay?

Xander: For what?

Charlie: The other

Mr. Kiriakis,

he caught me trying to hack in

to his computer,

and I couldn't lie my way out

of it, so I had to admit

that I was doing it for you.

Xander: You didn't tell me

that before.

Charlie: If you were me,

would you tell you?

And now, he wants me to pretend

to spy on him for you,

when really I'm spying on you

for him.

Xander: And

you just went along with that.

Charlie: I didn't have

a choice.

He caught me red-handed,

and technically

he's my boss too.

Xander: No, you made

a choice, Charlie.

A very bad choice.

Joey: Ava's alive.

I didn't kill her.

Steve: That's right.

She's definitely alive.

Kayla: And your Uncle Justin

is at the court right now,

trying to get your sentence

vacated.

Joey: I mean...

this could all turn around

on Ava, right?

I mean, she knocked you out.

She kidnapped you.

I mean, shouldn't she be

in prison?

Wouldn't that be great?

Steve: Yeah,

that would be great.

But that's not gonna happen.

Joey: Why not?

Kayla: The DA wanted Ava

to agree to speak

in support of your release,

and the only way

she would do that

is if the kidnapping charges

were dropped.

Joey: You shouldn't have

made that deal, Mom.

You can't let that happen.

Ava: Look, honey,

I understand

how you feel about my family.

But when I left Nashville,

I didn't have anything.

Not a cent.

So yeah, I did call

my cousin Angelo.

Tripp: That jackass.

Oh.

Oh, he's the one that fed me

all that garbage about Dad

and Kayla.

Ava: Okay, listen,

I had to start over.

I didn't have anywhere else

to go.

Tripp: I don't care.

Ava: Okay, just listen

to me, all right?

I told Angelo that I would

only take money from

the legit side of the business.

Tripp: Oh,

like there's a legit side.

Ava: There is a legit side.

And if you need proof,

I'm happy to get it.

Tripp: No, no, no, no.

It's fine, it's fine.

I-I didn't mean to sound so--

all high and mighty...

ungrateful.

Ava: I am so proud

that my son turned out

to be such a good guy.

Tripp: Yeah, well it took

some doing.

I wasn't always so great.

Ava: Come on.

I don't believe that.

Tripp: Well, believe it.

I watched all those DVDs

you left me.

Ava: Yeah?

Tripp: And I bought in

to them.

And I put you on top

of this pedestal.

And I hated Kayla

because I thought she took you

from me.

I was determined to get even.

I tried to ruin her

as a doctor.

That didn't work.

So I...

I held a scalpel to her neck,

Mom.

And I was ready to kill her.

Ava: You did that for me?

Oh, my baby, Tripp.

Oh, my God.

[gentle music]

Rafe: You think that Allie

should have maimed the kid?

Kate: After everything

she went through,

the legal system

did absolutely nothing for her.

Rafe: Okay, well,

understandable, but vigilante

justice is not the answer.

You know what?

I don't think I'm giving this

back to you.

Kate: No, no, no.

Just burning off some steam,

okay?

I'll make sure the kid never

gets her hands on it again.

Rafe: Well, you sure as hell

better mean it.

Now, listen.

I just got off the phone

with the DA's office

about her case.

Kate: You're going to help

them prosecute Allie?

What the hell?

She's the girl who asked you

to adopt her baby.

She thinks of you

as a second father, Rafe.

Rafe: It is my job

to enforce the laws.

She committed a felony.

She-she held a gun

to someone; it was loaded, okay?

What am I supposed to do?

Kate: Well, Allie will have

no chance whatsoever opposite

Melinda Trask.

So if you prosecute her,

you're sending her to prison.

Charlie: Please,

don't hurt me,

Mr. K.

Xander: You sound like

you're afraid of me.

Charlie: No, I'm...

sort of.

If "sort of" means "yes."

Xander: [exhales] Charlie,

honestly, that...

that kind of hurts.

I've shown you respect,

even offered you advice

on your love life.

How are things going

with Claire, anyway?

Charlie: Good.

Xander: See?

Charlie: I'm sorry

for what I did.

But the other Mr. Kiriakis

threatened to fire me.

I panicked.

Xander: [sighs heavily]

Charlie, I understand.

Charlie: You do?

Xander: Yeah.

You're in a tough position.

I'm your boss,

Philip's your boss--for now.

But that's not gonna last.

I'm gonna win this race,

Charlie.

I've never been surer of that.

And if you're gonna last

at this job,

you need to back

the right horse.

And I'm the thoroughbred.

If you want to be successful

at Titan,

you put your money on me.

Philip: You really want to

help me push Xander

out of Titan?

Sarah: Permanently.

If Xander is not out of

this house

and out of that company,

he will never

be out of my life.

Philip: And that's what

you want.

Sarah: Have I not made that

clear?

Philip: Yeah.

But I've seen how many

second chances

you've given the guy.

Sarah: I honestly don't know

why I did that.

Philip: Neither do I.

Compared to the other horrible

things you've forgiven him for,

what's the big deal about him

being jealous about you and me?

Sarah: [exhales]

I think, honestly,

it just showed me

how truly delusional he is.

And I just--

I saw what my life would be like

if I stayed.

And come on, like, you and me,

that's ridiculous, isn't it?

Philip: Totally ridiculous.

Philip: I guess I misread

the situation.

Sarah: What situation?

Philip: I was under

the impression that you ended it

with Xander because you

were interested in me.

Sarah: I broke up

with Xander because

he was trying to run my life.

Philip: Right.

Well, I'm sorry.

I guess I overstepped just now,

and I shouldn't have.

You've made it clear

I'm never gonna be your type.

So.

Sarah: I...

I'm just...

I'm not ready to jump into

another relationship so soon.

Philip: Of course.

But you know what just

hit me?

Sarah: I have no idea.

Philip: If you really

wanted Xander to finally

leave you alone,

wouldn't it be a good idea

for him to...

think he's right about us?

Even if he's not?

You see what I mean?

[intriguing music]

Sarah: Hmm.

Charlie: Please

don't fire me, Mr. Kiriakis.

Xander: Did I say anything

about firing you?

No, Charlie.

I know you're on my team

and Philip

turned you into a double agent

against your will.

But I'm afraid

I am gonna ask you

to be a triple agent now.

Charlie: Meaning what?

Xander: Well,

I asked you to get me something

I could you against Philip.

But he found out.

You follow me?

Then he asked you

to get something on me,

but tell me

that you were still trying

to get information on him,

right?

Charlie: Right. I think.

Xander: I'll make it easy

on you.

All you have to do

is go to Philip and say

what I want you to say.

Charlie: Which is what?

Xander: I'm about

to tell you, Charlie.

Allie: Hi, Grandma.

You wanted to see me?

Kate: Now,

does that surprise you?

Allie: A little bit,

I guess.

Kate: Mm-hmm.

You know, I just got back

from being summoned

to the police station.

[clears throat]

Allie: Oh, God.

Um...

Kate: Yeah.

It looks like I'm going to have

to find a more secure place

to keep that.

Allie: I'm really sorry,

Grandma.

Kate: Honey, why didn't you

ask me for help?

Why didn't you ask me

to handle Tripp?

Why did you put

your entire future on the line?

Allie: I wasn't thinking. I--

Kate: Okay,

so do you know what that means?

Because not only is Tripp

going to get off scot-free,

you are now in trouble

with the law.

Allie: Well, Rafe said

that he'd talk to the DA.

Kate: Yeah, Melinda Trask.

Whose daughter

was in this country illegally.

Did you know that Tripp

married her to help her

get a green card?

Allie: He did?

Kate: Yeah, he did.

And when that didn't work out,

he was willing to leave

the country with her.

So to Melinda Trask,

Tripp Dalton is a hero.

Allie: Oh, my God.

Well, then that's it.

I'm toast.

Tripp: You know, I didn't

tell you about what I did

to Kayla for you

to be proud of me.

Ava: Well, honey, I...

Look, it's--I didn't mean

to sound happy about it.

It's just that it...

it means so much to me

that you stood up for me.

Tripp: Yeah, well,

that was a long time ago.

And Kayla not only forgave me,

but she's been great to me.

I mean, she's the one who

convinced me I could be

a doctor.

Ava: My God, why are you

talking about her

like she's so great?

She thinks

that you are a rapist.

Tripp: She was a victim

of that very same crime herself.

Okay? And Allie's her niece.

All right? She's known her

since she was born.

And she didn't just take

Allie's word for it, all right?

There was other evidence

that said that I did it.

Ava: Wait, what evidence?

Tripp: A paternity test.

It said that Allie's baby

and I shared the same DNA.

So I know how

this all looks to Kayla.

But I know for a fact

that I never slept with Allie.

Ava: Okay, wait a minute.

Tripp: What?

Ava: Allie's mom

is Sami Brady, right?

Tripp: Yeah.

Ava: Okay, Nicole once

told me that Sami is the queen

of switching paternity tests.

Tripp: No, it's not that.

Kayla ran the test,

like, four times.

Ava: Wait. Wait a minute.

Kayla ran the test?

Okay, all right,

this explains it all.

Tripp: Explains what?

Ava: She's railroading you.

This is payback for Joe.

Kayla: Joey, I'm sorry,

but I would have done anything

to get you out of here.

Joey: You can't make deals

with Ava.

I'd rather do my time

and know you guys were safe

and she was behind bars.

Steve: Joe,

think about what--

Joey: You two should've

talked to me

before you did this.

Steve: Hey, we can handle

Ava.

Joey: I did try to kill her.

I wanted her dead.

I deserve to be in here.

Steve: No, you've already

paid for that.

Kayla: Look,

there's something else, too.

Ava really wants a relationship

with Tripp.

And I think that she knows

that she needs to be

on her very best behavior.

Joey: [scoffs]

Ava's idea of "best behavior"

is a lot different

than yours, Mom.

Steve: Joe, listen.

Right now,

it's out of our hands.

And to be honest,

it's not a done deal yet.

Joey: What does that mean?

Steve: Well, the DA wasn't

totally on board.

Kayla: I thought we would've

heard from Justin by now.

Rafe, what are you doing here?

Sarah: So you really want

to make Xander think

we're having an affair?

Philip: It would get him out

of your life.

Sarah: But how would

you two work together?

Philip: Oh, we couldn't.

One of us would have to go.

And I'd make sure it was him.

That is what you want.

Sarah: Yeah.

I mean, I already told you that.

I just--

I don't want to make things

more complicated

than they already are.

And...

I am due at the hospital.

Philip: Well, but we haven't

made must progress

on the benefit.

Sarah: Well, um,

we could meet up

after I get off duty.

Philip: Okay! Great.

I'll talk to you later.

[intriguing music]

[phone beeps]

[line trilling]

Sarah: Hi.

Meet me in your hotel room

as soon as possible.

We have a lot to talk about.

Kate: Anyway,

Rafe told me that apparently

Trask thinks what happened today

is a he-said-she-said

kind of situation.

Allie: And she's on

Tripp's side.

Kate: Actually,

she regrets having

to hand over the rape case

to the British authorities,

especially after

the DNA results came in.

Allie: Okay, so what does

that mean?

Kate: What that means is

that Ms. Trask

has found that one

compassionate bone in her body

and decided not to file charges

against you.

Allie: Really? Oh, my God.

Kate: Yes.

So you are off the hook.

Don't blow it.

Allie: Thank God.

Tripp: What has this

got to do with Joey?

Ava: Look.

Kayla thinks that I drove Joe

to do what he did to me

and that's why he went

to prison.

So now that I'm back,

she wants to send my son

to prison.

Tripp: No, she wouldn't mess

with those test results.

Ava: Honey,

if you didn't have sex

with this girl,

then how does a test prove

that you are the baby's father?

Tripp: Yeah, I've been

going crazy trying to figure

that one out, okay?

But I know it wasn't Kayla.

Ava: Okay.

Yeah.

Tripp: Look, you said

you believed me that I was

telling the truth about Allie,

but...

does this change your mind?

Ava: Honey,

nothing is gonna

change my mind about you.

But this doesn't make sense,

here.

And we need to figure it out.

We need to figure out

some explanation,

some--you know what?

You need to tell me

the entire story.

Please start from

the beginning.

Tripp: [sighs] Okay.

It was Christmas break,

and I went to a club.

And that was the first time

I saw Allie.

We flirted a little.

She didn't really

seem interested,

so I left her alone.

Next time I ran into her...

Ava: Was that the same night?

Tripp: Yes, yeah.

She was drunk.

I mean, like, wasted.

So I decided I would help her

back to her place.

Got her into her apartment

and into bed.

Ava: Alone?

Tripp: Yes. For sure.

Okay, and I was afraid

she was so drunk

that she was gonna throw up,

and so I just--

I wrote her a note with my name

and phone number on it,

and then I took off.

Ava: And what happened

to the note?

Tripp: She says

she never found it.

Hey, look, I don't know

what happened with her

after I left.

[stammers] 'Cause the next time

I ran into her was when

I ran into her here.

And I couldn't believe it.

I had no idea she had family

here in Salem.

And then she said

she had a baby

and that it was mine?

I was beyond shocked.

Ava: Yeah.

Doesn't make sense.

Tripp: Yeah, well it does

to Allie, all right?

And she's not gonna let it go

until she feels like I've paid

for what she thinks I did.

Rafe: Justin called me.

He got tied up on another case.

He asked me if I would come

down here and deliver the news.

Kayla: Okay?

Rafe: The judge ruled that

there were obvious grounds

to vacate the remainder

of Joey's sentence.

Joey: Vacate? Meaning...

Rafe: Yeah.

I just left he warden's office.

You're free to go.

Kayla: [laughs] Joey!

Oh, Joey!

[uplifting music]

Sarah: I'm so sorry

that took so long.

I had to go to the hospital

first, because that's where

I told Philip I was going.

What is it?

Baby, what's wrong?

[tense music]

Charlie: Excuse me.

Philip: What are you doing

in my house?

Charlie: Well,

I just figured

that you'd want my updates

away from the security cameras

at the office.

Philip: Good thinking,

Charlie.

What have you got?

Charlie: Well, nothing yet.

But I did tell the other

Mr. Kiriakis that I've been

digging and digging

and can't find a thing on you.

Philip: Did he buy it?

Charlie: Totally.

Philip: You being straight

with me, Charlie?

[dramatic music]

Tripp: A small part of me

wishes the case had gone

to trial just so Justin

could prove me innocent...

though I don't know how

he was supposed to do that.

Ava: Okay, why didn't

the case go to trial?

Tripp: Probably would have

here in Salem, but the police

in London didn't want to.

Ava: Okay, hold on.

Why would the police in London

have anything to say

about that?

Tripp: 'Cause

that's where it happened.

Ava: Okay, hold it,

you didn't tell me that.

You met Allie in London?

Tripp: Yeah. Why?

Allie: I know what I did

was stupid.

But I just couldn't stand

the thought of Tripp

getting away with what he did.

But I guess that's just how

it's going to be.

Kate: So you're just going

to let it go?

Allie: I mean,

I don't have much of a choice.

Kate: Sweetie,

you have power over him,

even though it doesn't seem

like you do.

I know how you feel.

I was in a situation...

I was a young mom,

and I had a very

abusive husband,

and I gave away my power.

And I've regretted it

my whole life.

[dramatic music]

Allie, Tripp is going to pay.

I promise you that.

Allie: Yeah, well,

people keep saying that.

Kate: I'm not "people."

When I make a promise,

it's because I have a plan.

I'm just--I'm not cut out to do

what you want me to do.

Philip: So you came

all the way here to tell me

you got nothing?

Charlie: Well, uh,

yeah, I guess.

Philip: You do realize

the sooner you get something,

the sooner Xander's gone

and this is all over?

Charlie: Yes, sir.

Philip: I have some calls

to make, Charlie.

I'll see you at the office

tomorrow.

[phone beeps]

Aww, man.

This is not the news

I need right now.

[intriguing music]

Xander: Ava Vitali is alive.

And back in Salem.

Sarah: Who is Ava Vitali?

Xander: I just can't

believe it.

Sarah: Oh my God, are you

gonna tell me who this is?

That's Angela Vandekamp.

Xander: What?

Sarah: I'm telling you,

that's the woman

that I saw Philip with.

Xander: Oh, bloody hell.

Angela Vandekamp and Ava Vitali

are the same person?

Ava: I mean--I mean,

it's not a big deal.

I just--I didn't realize

that you met her overseas.

It is--it's quite a coincidence,

isn't it?

Tripp: Yeah.

If I had just stayed in

with my friends that one night,

you know, none of this crap

would be happening.

So you, uh...

got any ideas to get me

off the hook?

Ava: Not yet. Sorry.

Tripp: It's not your problem.

Ava: Yeah, it is.

And I'm not gonna stop

till I figure it out.

Tripp: Thanks.

I guess I'll go back to my dad's

and pack up my stuff.

Ava: Okay.

Tripp: See you later?

Ava: Yeah, absolutely.

Trip: [exhales]

Bye.

Ava: See you soon.

[phone beeps]

[line trilling]

Hey. It's me.

You call me back

the minute you get this,

and I am not kidding around.

Allie: What are you

going to do?

Kate: Oh, don't worry.

It's all within the bounds

of the law.

Allie: What is?

Kate: Have you heard

of a civil suit?

Allie: Uh, no.

Kate: It's when you're

allowed to sue a person

for damages

who hasn't been found guilty

in a criminal court.

But the good thing is

the burden of proof

isn't as heavy,

and I think the DNA results

will be all that's needed.

Allie: Okay.

So what does it get for me?

Kate: Well, for starters,

financial support for you

and for Henry.

And you might also be able

to force Tripp into admitting

what he did to you.

Allie: Really?

Kate: I mean, he's not going

to go to jail.

Not in a civil suit.

But the thing is,

he will pay a heavy price.

And people will know

that he did

what you said he did.

All we have to do is find

the right lawyer.

Rafe: Justin earned

his fee today.

He persuaded that judge

that Joey should go free.

Steve: Well, how soon can

he get out of here?

Rafe: How does today sound?

[Kayla and Steve chuckle]

>Joey: Today?

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Joey: Are you serious?

Rafe: I said I just talked

to the warden.

Steve: Dude, get out

of those prison duds, man.

Start thinking

about what you want

for your first meal at home!

Kayla: I will make you

anything you want.

Oh, we're a family again.
