Episode #13551 ~ Rex and Sarah create an antidote for Will. Ciara and Tripp pretend to believe Ben is guilty in front of Claire. Roman shares devastating news with Kayla. Sami and Lucas pray for Will's recovery.

Tripp: So how the hell are we supposed to get a confession out of claire?

Ciara: I don't know. I just know that it's worth doing.

Tripp: To clear ben.

Ciara: No. For claire. She is sick, tripp, and she's obviously been sick for a really long time.

Tripp: I guess, yeah.

Ciara: Tripp. She tried to kill me. And you. And haley. Please, I can't do this alone.

Tripp: Okay. Okay, I'll help you.

Claire: Help her with what?

Ciara: Uh, hey, claire.

Claire: Hey.

Ciara: I was just stopping by to see if tripp was okay.

Tripp: Yeah, yeah, and I told her I was fine.

Claire: Fine?

[Laughs] No, no, no, no, you are not fine, tripp. Ben just tried to kill you. You almost died after being dragged out of a burning building, so you are not okay. Look, I'm sorry if I'm being a little overprotective. I'm just very worried him.

Ciara: I understand.

Claire: Yeah, and I did overhear you saying that he would help you with something. I was wondering what it was that you wanted him to do.

[Tense music]

Eric: Since the day he was born, he'S... he's pulled this family together. His kind heart. His humor. You can't take will from us. Not again. He and my mom, they have such a special bond. My sister--if she... if she lost her son, I honestly don't know if she'd have the strength to go on. Please don't take her from us. Please, lord.

[Somber music]

Sami: I can't pray, mom. I can't stop thinking about the fact that I put ej ahead of my own son.

Marlena: Don't go there.

Sami: I don't deserve to have a son like will, and he certainly doesn't deserve to have a mother like me.

Lucas: Sami, I love will more than anything in this world. The thing I love most about him is the you in him.

Sami: Lucas.

Kate: Sami, rex is here.

Rex: Hi.

Kate: Rex, please tell us that you have the antidote to save will's life.

[Monitor beeping rapidly]

Sonny: Will, will, please. Please, will. Will. Do something! He's dying! He's dying!

Kayla: Will? Will?

[Beeping continues]

[Ethereal music]

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the "days of our lives."

[Soft orchestration]

Claire: You know, I'm sure that I could help you out with whatever you need help with.

Ciara: I have to go back to the gate house to grab the rest of my stuff. And I'm just not sure if I can face it alone. I'm so scared of ben.

Claire: Isn't he still in jail?

Ciara: Maybe it's not logical, but I just--I wanna get all of my stuff out of there as fast as possible and... I wanted someone to protect me in case ben showed up. Like I said, no, it's not logical.

Tripp: Yeah, but I get it, and like I said, I am fine, and I'd be more than happy to help her bring her stuff back here.

Claire: Oh! Oh, she's moving back in with us?

Ciara: Do you have a problem with that?

Claire: Um, no, no. Oh, my god, no. This is your place.

[Laughs] And, look, I'm sorry if I butted in earlier. I'm just--I'm still so, so worried about you.

Tripp: I knew the guy hated me after I tried to frame him last year, but to come after me now? After he has you? It doesn't make any sense.

Ciara: That's right. It doesn't make sense, and he didn't do it.

Tripp: Oh, yeah? Well, then who did ben say it was?

Ciara: Claire.

Tripp: [Chuckles awkwardly]

Claire: What's wrong?

Eric: Will is...

Sarah: No. There's good news. Rex and I had a breakthrough.

Eric: [Sighs in relief] Thank you.

Sami: So, is it good news? Just tell us.

Rex: Sarah and I found a formula for the serum that will used rolf's diary, and we think we have an antidote. Or at least as close to it as we can get.

Lucas: Good job, good job.

Marlena: Oh, thank god.

Rex: I'm gonna go give this to him right now.

Sami: It has to work. It just has to.

Kayla: Clear!

[Monitor beeping rapidly]

[Ethereal music]

[Shimmering tones]

Will: [Echoing] Anyone here?

[Ethereal music]

Caroline: [Echoing, distant] Congratulations, will and sonny. I wish you a lifetime of laughter and finishing each other's sentences. If you live long enough, that might come in handy.

[Distant laughter]

Will: [Echoing] I did finally marry sonny again. But it was the last thing I ever did. And instead of laughing together, I left him with pain. Terrible pain.

[Paddles charging]

Kayla: Clear! Come on, will.

Sonny: Will, please, please. I need you. Come back to me, please.

Kayla: Okay, okay, move back. Clear!

[Monitors beeping rapidly]

Sonny: He's alive! He's alive!

Kayla: Okay. All right.

Rex: Kayla, sarah and I have made an antidote. It's no guarantee, but it's the closest we're gonna get.

Kayla: You know, he is barely hanging on. I don't know if he would survive it.

Rex: Do you think we can afford to wait?

Sonny: No, you cannot wait! You have to give it to him right now, please.

Kayla: Sonny.

Lucas: How long is this gonna take? When are we gonna find out if it worked or not?

Sami: You know what, I can't just stand here. I'm gonna go be with will.

Roman: No.

Sami: Dad, I'm his mother.

Roman: And you need to let the people who can actually help him do their job.

Sami: Sonny is with him.

Kate: He's will's husband, sami.

Sami: And I'm his mother.

Marlena: Hey. Your father's right. I know it's hell waiting here, but why don't you go to the chapel and wait with eric?

Lucas: Come on, we'll go together, okay?

Sami: Come get me.

Kate: I will come and get you.

Sarah: Eric. Would it be all right if i waited with you?

Eric: Of course. So rex giving will the antidote?

Sarah: Yeah. You know, just now... watching you pray, I just thought "that's it, that's where he gets his strength from."

Eric: What strength?

Sarah: The strength that everyone depends on. Especially your mom and sami--

Eric: No, I don't think I've been very much use to anybody. Not for a while now. You talk about strength, you and rex, you, uh... made it.

Sarah: No, we just... we did our job.

Eric: Above and beyond the call of duty.

Sarah: Actually, we wouldn't have been able to do it if xander hadn't given us rolf's diary.

Eric: No, the hell with xander. You... you did it. Thank you. I'm very grateful.

Sarah: So other than praying, you didn't make any other deals with god, did you?

Eric: You mean like giving up on you so my mother could live? No. Not now. It's clear that you and rex belong together.

Sarah: And you, you obviously belong with nicole.

Eric: No. Nicole and I have... it's done. You know, after our final fight, I accepted that it's over.

Sarah: I--I'm sorry.

Eric: I'll live.

Sarah: What?

Eric: When she lost her daughter, I realized that I was no use to her. No, that's not accurate. It's not that I wasn't any use to her, it's just that I made it the worst.

Sarah: Damn it, no! I'm sorry, I... I can't pretend to understand that kind of grief, but what nicole did to you was horrible. It was completely unfair and totally self-indulgent.

Eric: Yeah, well, we shouldn't talk about this. Probably never.

Sarah: She didn't deserve you.

Eric: You sound like my mother.

Sarah: Well then your mom was right. What did she say exactly?

Eric: Typical mom stuff. She suggested that maybe it wasn't too late for us.

Sarah: What did you say?

Eric: Nothing. Because that's when rex walked in. I took that as a sign. It was clear that my brother loves you. And that there was no future for us.

Sami: Oh.

Eric: Sami.

Sami: [Breathes deeply]

[Both chuckle awkwardly]

Tripp: I--I'm sorry.

Claire: You pulled away from me, why?

Tripp: Just when you hugged me I kind of felt a little guilty.

Claire: Okay. Again, why?

Tripp: For--for lying to you. Telling you I was gonna go visit my dad when I was really helping haley.

Claire: Oh. Tripp, don't worry about that, please. Look, I would not trust me either after making that recording of you and haley, and, like everything else in our relationship, it's my bad. Bad, bad, bad. Really bad, and now everything between us is really screwed up and honestly I don't really know how we got here but I do know that it's all my fault and I'm sorry.

Tripp: If you would have just told me how jealous you were of haley, I would have understood.

Claire: But would you have forgiven me?

Tripp: Actually, I think i could forgive anything if you were just honest of what you did.

Claire: Really? Okay, well, I really hope you mean that because I'm about to be very honest with you. Tripp, I've done something awful. And I really need to tell you about it.

Claire: I did not mean to hurt you. I really didn'T. I was just under so much pressure.

Tripp: Just tell me what you did.

Claire: [Sighs] I told eve that you were the one who framed ben, not wyatt.

Ciara: Why would you want to get tripp in trouble with the police, claire? I thought you loved him.

Claire: I do! I do! Okay. [Stammers] It's because of eve, okay? She just was really pressing about why ben would try to kill you, and she got me all tied up in knots and basically pulled it out of me.

Claire: Yeah, 'cause you've always been such a tower of strength, right?

Claire: Tripp, listen, i really do not think that eve is gonna go after you. She is only interested in getting ben. Oh, god, I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. Please, please tell me that you can forgive me.

Kate: [Chuckles] You know, i have to admit, I'm a little surprised that sami took your advice to go to the chapel.

Marlena: I'm surprised she ever takes my advice.

[All laugh] I'm so glad lucas is here. She needs him right now.

Kate: I know. He may not be the love of her life but he sure does love her. You know? He loves those kids.

Marlena: Mm-hmm.

Kate: But it's not like the three of us haven't had our ups and downs, right? But we're here together and we're going through this together.

Marlena: I'm glad about that.

Roman: Yeah, me too. But I am sure the rest of the family's wondering what's going on so I'm gonna call kimberly, tell her and ma about the antidote.

Marlena: Mm, please say hello for me. You know, if I haven't said it, I think you should be very proud of your sons.

Kate: Thank you. I know they're not perfect. I'm not perfect. But I do love them. I love them across the board.

Marlena: I know you do. I feel the same way about mine. I guess that's one thing you and I have always had and always will have in common, is our love for our children.

Kate: Mm.

Sarah: I--I'm so glad you guys are here. I was just telling eric that rex and I think that we found an antidote.

Sami: Yeah, rex told us. He's administering it now.

Sarah: Then I'm gonna go check on things and see how they're going. Hopefully I'll have good news for you soon.

Lucas: Thank you.

Eric: Pretty exciting about the antidote, isn't it?

Sami: Yeah, except that rex was pretty clear that he doesn't know if it will work or not.

Rex: All right. We're hoping that this is gonna work quickly to reduce the tumor and the pressure on his brain.

Sonny: Hang on, will, please. Please, please, okay? I cannot live without you. Please. Please, please.

Will: Grandpa shawn always said deaths are sad. And nothing beats an irish wake.

[Ethereal music]

Caroline: Will.

[Shimmering tones]

Will: Great-grandma caroline? I wanted to consolidate my credit cards in to a personal loan to pay them off faster. Lending tree made lenders compete for my business and i ended up with a loan that saved me over $9000 and no more credit card debt. I mean $9000!

Claire: Please tell me that you don't hate me.

Tripp: I tried to frame ben so I'm in no position to judge. And eve does decide to come after me, then I'll just be getting what's coming to me.

Claire: Well, okay, but like I said, I really don't think she will. Okay? You were trying to protect ciara, the one person in the world who refused to believe what everyone else knows, that ben set the fire. But, honestly, at the end of the day, I'm just--I'm grateful that you finally know who he really is and what he's capable of. It's scary.

Ciara: Damn it, claire! Just stop--stop it, okay? Just shut up.

Sami: Mom sent me here. I think she was just trying to get me out of the doctor's hair.

Lucas: I know you're going crazy. I know you're chomping at the bit trying to do something.

Eric: Sami, you could pray. That's doing something.

Sami: I think god would find that a little hypocritical.

Eric: You don't have to get on your knees, hands folded, and eyes heavenward to pray. Just talk to god. Just give him reason why will should live.

[Soft music]

Sami: Will. Ari. And sonny. I don't think that they could face the hole he would leave in their lives. Not again. And I know he hurt sonny. I know he screwed up, but... but now he's will again. And he just gives. He doesn't take, he gives. And everyone he knows is better because he is back. Oh, god. We need him. We all need him so much.

[Monitor beeping]

Sonny: How long before it works?

Rex: We don't know. Just like we don't know if it's going to work.

Sonny: You don't think it's going to work, do you?

Kayla: I just think that his family should be here.

Rex: All right, you know what, I'll go get them. I'm sorry.

[Door opens, closes]

Sonny: So now there'S... there's what, nothing anyone can do?

Will: [Chuckles] What are you doing here? What am I doing here?

[Shimmering tones]

Claire: Whoa, I'm sorry, ciara. I really did not mean to upset you, I just meant, you know--

Tripp: You know, I don't think we should be talking about ben right now, claire. It's just too soon.

Claire: Mm-hmm.

Ciara: That's it. It's just too soon. You just have no idea how hard it is to realize that someone you loved and trusted tried to kill you.

Roman: Kimberly didn't pick up. Didn't feel right about leaving a message, so I'll call her back later when we know a little more about what's going on here.

Kate: What's wrong?

Rex: I'm--I'm really sorry. When I got in there, will went into cardiac arrest. Kayla brought him back, I gave him the antidote, but he's not responding.

Kate: Is there anything else you can do?

Rex: Again, I'm sorry. It's out of our hands now.

Sami: Please, lord, please have mercy.

Eric: Amen.

Sami: Well, I guess that's it.

[Exhales]

Lucas: For someone who doesn't pray that often, you did really good.

Kate: Sami, lucas, you need to come now.

Sami: The drug?

Kate: They gave it to him but they don't know whether it was too late.

Sami: Oh. Okay. Come on. What is happening? Will? Will, can you hear us? I think you can. Will, please. Please come back to us. Please.

Will: Are you sure? Well, thanks for telling me. I wasn't sure what to think when I saw you here, but... now I understand.

[Soft piano music]

Kayla: Rex. Rex, look. His vitals are getting stronger.

Sonny: Please.

Sami: Will?

[All sigh, laugh] Will.

Will: You guys have nothing better to do than to hang out here?

[Laughter]

[All crying, laughing]

Claire: Oh, it must be awful for you, knowing that ben turned on you when you were the only person in the world who trusted him and believed in him and loved him. But, as much as this hurts, you know, it's better that you know the truth.

Ciara: Yeah. My eyes have been opened.

Claire: Getting over ben is not going to be easy, but I'm going to do everything and anything that I can to help you, okay?

Ciara: Good to know, yeah.

Claire: Like, I have not forgotten all the amazing things that you've done for me, like you stood by me when I was really mad at tripp, you glued maggie's figurine back together for me after I smashed it, and now I am gonna help you get over ben.

Ciara: How?

Claire: Um... for starters, do you remember when you told me that I should start talking to my grandma marlena? Maybe she could help you.

Ciara: You think I need a shrink?

Tripp: You know, ciara, it's getting late. We should probably go get your stuff, right? I'll just go get my keys.

Claire: He's right. You know, you should definitely head over there while ben's still locked up. God forbid you ran into him.

Ciara: You're right. You're right, being near the person that almost killed you would just be sickening.

Kate: You know, I was really afraid. I was really afraid that will wasn't going to make it. I couldn't help thinking about all of the things that I have done. He's so young. It should have been me in there.

Roman: Oh, come on, come on. Will is gonna be fine, all right? He and sonny got long lives ahead of them.

Kate: [Chuckles] You know something else that's really kind of hard to wrap my head around? The fact that it was actually our son who figured out how to save our grandson's life.

Roman: Well, as ma always says, things always seem to work out in very mysterious ways.

Kate: [Chuckles]

[Monitor beeping]

Will: So--so I died?

Sonny: Kayla said you didn't have a pulse or a heartbeat.

Will: Oh, my god.

Sonny: What?

Will: I... I saw, like, a bright light. It was so bright. It should have blinded me, but it didn'T.

Marlena: No. You see very clearly.

Will: Yeah. I did, I did see clearly. And then I was at the pub. But... but it, like, wasn't the pub and I looked on the bar and I saw a picture of us. But it was ripped in half.

Sonny: Our wedding photo.

Sami: What's wrong?

Sonny: I was just telling roman about ripping it up. I tore it up because I felt like I had lost will forever.

Sami: Maybe will heard you say that.

Sonny: That's the thing. I was in the nurse's station over there, and will was here. There's no way that you could have heard that. Will, I'm so sorry that you had to see that. I'm sorry.

Will: No, no, no, it's okay because then I looked again and it was back together. It was--it was crazy. It was like I was meant to be with you.

Sonny: You know, your grandfather, he told me, he said, "you cannot give up." And that we were meant to be together.

Marlena: You know, your great grandma always said, "he works in mysterious ways."

Will: Great grandma. She was there. She talked to me.

Marlena: Oh.

Roman: Kimberly, hey. Great news. Tell ma will's gonna be fine. They found a cure.

[Solemn music]

What? What do you mean?

Claire: Now, are you sure that you don't want me to go with you?

Ciara: No. I just--I want to get it over with.

Claire: Okay. Okay.

[Sighs] Go get this done. Go get this over with and then we're gonna start fresh tomorrow, okay? Okay.

Ciara: Ugh, she just touches me and I want to take a shower.

Tripp: I get it. We cannot let her know that we're on to her, all right? Not until we can prove that it was her and not ben.

Ciara: You're right. You're right, we need proof. And I think I have an idea about just how to get it.

Rex: I usually hate the paperwork. Not tonight.

Sarah: "Patient should be able to make a full recovery." That is not too shabby!

Rex: You know, now that will can come to our wedding, I think we've officially entered that "happily ever after" phase.

Sarah: You did it, rex. You saved him.

Rex: No. But we did.

[Soft romantic music]

[Monitor beeping]

Will: I looked up from the picture, and I saw her sitting at a table so I went to her, and she said she had something to tell me so I took her hands in mine. And I helped her up, and she sort of like cocked her head, looked me right in the eyes and said, "now was not your time," that I needed to go back to sonny and ari and all of you, everyone who loved me and needed me. The last time I looked at her she was holding me. She was sending me home. To you.

Sami: I do that all the time. When I'm in trouble, I imagine grandma.

Will: No, I wasn't imagining it. It really happened. I had her hands in mine. I talked to her. I held her. I came back because she told me to.

Sami: Will, it's not like you were on the other side or something, you know? I mean, grandma's still alive.

Kayla: Hey. I am wrung out. Can I buy you a beer? Roman? What?

Roman: I just, uh... I just spoke with kimberly. Kay... ma is gone. Kimberly said that she died just a little while ago.

[Crying] In her sleep. She's--she's gone, kay. She is gone.

Kayla: [Crying] What? What?

[Both sobbing] Oh, god.
