Episode #13529 ~ Haley and JJ have an emotional moment as they learn her fate. Tripp realizes Claire is in cahoots with Eve. JJ attacks Jack, who tries to reach out to him. Rafe gets divorce papers from Hope.

[Sighs] Now that haley'sut of the way, tripp and I can finally be together again.

[Tense music]

Tripp: Look, I have to be down at the station. I gotta make sure haley's all right.

Jj: I'm worried about her too, but justin is with her now. Tripp, I'm sure it's gonna be a while before they let any of us see her.

Tripp: I don't see why she would confess that our marriage is fake. Why would she blow up the entire plan?

Jj: That's what I've been trying to explain to you. She was forced into it.

Tripp: Force--forced into-- what--what do you mean?

Jj: The only reason haley confessed is 'cause eve made her do it.

Eve: Jack, the press conference is getting wall to wall coverage and it's all positive, I might add.

Jack: Well, what about that exit poll that says I'm still trailing abe?

Eve: I know, there's still a lot of precincts out. We'll catch up, don't worry.

Jack: I hope you're right.

Eve: You mark my words. Getting haley chen to expose her own lies is gonna win you this election.

Jennifer: And how exactly did you accomplish that, mr. Deveraux? Care to comment on what you did to that poor young woman?

[Tense music]

Haley: [Sighs] Thank you for coming down here so quickly.

Justin: Haley, help me understand. Why did you publicly admit that your marriage was a fraud?

Haley: The truth was gonna come out sooner or later. And, um, here's my engagement ring. Can you please bring it back to claire? 'Cause it came from her.

Justin: No problem. You do realize that, after your confession, there's really not much I can do to help you. Right?

Haley: Yeah, I guess... I'm going to be deported.

Justin: Very likely. I'm so sorry.

Haley: Me too.

[Approaching footsteps]

Hope: Here you go, haley.

Haley: Thank you.

Hope: You're welcome.

Haley: Do you know when ice is supposed to get here?

Hope: Any minute.

Haley: Guess it's too much to hope I won't have to deal with that awful agent smith.

Laverne: Did I hear my name?

Haley: Guess so.

Laverne: Well, well, well... look who turned out to be a naughty little liar.

Justin: I hope you're not gloating, agent smith.

Laverne: What, I can't be happy that justice is being served?

Justin: Your idea of justice maybe.

Laverne: Mrs. Dalton is an admitted felon. She just bought herself a one-way ticket back to china.

Lani: You hear that?

Rafe: I didn't hear anything.

Lani: Exactly. David is out like a light. I think our little stroll today might have wiped him out.

[Chuckles] You should have seen his face when that bird landed on his stroller. What are you looking at?

Rafe: You missed it. The process server, that is. I've been served.

Hope: I'll be in my office. But, haley, please, if you need anything, have justin let me know, okay?

Haley: Okay, thank you.

Justin: Thanks.

[Dramatic music]

Haley: What's this?

Laverne: Your statement, admitting you perpetrated marriage fraud to stay in this country.

Haley: Which I already admitted at the press conference.

Laverne: This will make it official and it'll help speed up the deportation process.

Justin: You don't need to sign this.

Laverne: Oh, I strongly advise that you cooperate, mrs. Dalton. Otherwise I'll be inclined to investigate your husband.

Haley: I told you! I told you that tripp didn't know he was doing anything wrong.

Justin: Haley, haley.

Laverne: I know you claim that you tricked him into marrying you, but I have a feeling you're still lying. And if he's found guilty, he'll be facing a significant prison sentence.

Tripp: I-I don't understand. How was eve blackmailing haley?

Jj: She had an audio recording of you and claire. You were assuring her that she was still your girlfriend and that you had to sell your marriage to haley to keep her in this country.

Tripp: No, no, we had that conversation out in the hallway of the loft right before the wedding. How did eve record us?

Jj: I don't know. But my dad and eve said they'd release the recording unless haley came clean on her own.

Tripp: So haley confessed to save me.

Jj: Yes.

Tripp: Damn it, this is all my fault. God, I thought I was being careful.

Jj: Well, they fooled me too.

Tripp: How was I so stupid? Melinda just told me and claire that jack had some video of us spending time together at the salem inn. But she managed to erase it before jack could use it.

Jj: They must have been following you everywhere you went.

Tripp: Yeah, unless...

Jj: Unless what, tripp?

Lani: Hope sure did move fast on the divorce.

Rafe: Yeah. Well... I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Hope: She's, uh, with an ice agent right now.

Melinda: Does she have a lawyer?

Hope: Yes, justin kiriakis is with her.

Melinda: I meant a competent one.

Hope: You know very well he's an excellent lawyer, melinda.

Melinda: Not excellent enough to help my sister.

Hope: At this point, I am sorry to say, there's not much anyone could do. I'm afraid haley's going to be deported.

Justin: Careful, agent smith. It almost sounds like you're trying to coerce my client into a confession.

Laverne: Your client already confessed. I'm simply stating a fact. Marriage fraud is a federal crime for both parties involved.

Haley: I told you that tripp is innocent. He didn't know that he was doing anything wrong, okay? I made him believe that I truly loved him.

Justin: Haley, that's enough.

Laverne: I don't believe you. I'm gonna need to see it all in writing.

Haley: [Scoffs] You know, I'm--I'm not going to sign this statement unless it makes it clear that tripp did nothing wrong.

Laverne: Fine. I'll have my office make an adjustment. Don't go anywhere.

Justin: It's admirable how much you're looking out for tripp.

Haley: After everything he's done for me? It's the least I can do.

Tripp: Hmm.

Claire: There you are. How did things go with haley?

Tripp: Haley is on a plane back to china.

Claire: Oh, my god. I'm sorry. Are you okay? Can't have been easy on you.

Tripp: Yeah, you know what, to be honest, I'm relieved. Yeah. I mean, I wanted to help her out 'cause that's the kind of guy i am, but... you know, getting married to her was the worst mistake of my life.

Claire: Oh, my god. Do you really mean that?

Tripp: Of course. Of course, you were right, claire. You were right all along. And, you know, we are now free to be together again if you'll-- if you'll take me back.

Claire: [Laughs] If--if I'll take you back?

Tripp: Yeah, what I did to you, it wasn't fair to you. And...you deserve so much better, claire. Will you forgive me? Will you take me back?

Claire: Oh, my god, yes. Of course I will.

Tripp: I hated being away from you. I hated every second of it.

Claire: [Laughs]

[Giggles] What are you doing?

Tripp: I'm taking you home where you belong.

[Laughter]

Well, you look awfully happy. What were you just thinking about?

Eve: Jennifer, I can assure you that we didn't do anything to "that poor young woman."

Jennifer: Really? Why don't I believe that, eve?

Eve: Well, we just got her to see that she was, you know, ruining tripp's life by dragging him down in her deception.

Jack: I was simply trying to protect my nephew. I thought that would please you.

Jennifer: I don't believe any part of that, jack. You weren't looking to help tripp; you were trying to get last minute votes, because you know that you are going to lose.

Jack: I don't know that.

Jennifer: This was your hail mary pass and it's not gonna work, it's not.

Jack: Uh, look, if you have any more questions--

Jack: [Sighs] I can't-- polls are about to close. I can't sit around here, like, waiting for it. Let's just go--we're gonna go back to the hotel room and we'll wait for the results there.

Eve: Okay, sounds like a great idea.

Eve: Jack!

Jack: What? Aah! (Dana) it's very difficult for the family

Jack: You pack quite a wallop there, kid.

Jj: You're a pathetic coward. You don't have the guts to face haley yourself, so you send your wife in to do your dirty work?

Eve: Okay, okay, you know what, you just calm down. There's press everywhere--

Jj: I don't give a damn! I hope everyone sees you both for what you are.

Jack: [Groans] Oh, hey, hi. Thanks for coming. Vote deveraux. Yeah.

Jj: I hope you two are proud of yourselves. Haley worked hard to build a life for herself and you two decimated it.

Eve: Jack was just following the law. Why do you keep defending a woman who keeps breaking it, jj?

Jj: You were a prostitute.

Eve: What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Jj: And you are a rapist! But I-I sold drugs. None of us here are saints, so for you to act like you're some staunch believer in the rule of law... I can't take it.

Eve: Well, what does that mean?

Jj: Means I'm done with you. With the both of you. I have to see haley.

[Tense music]

Haley: Here you go.

Laverne: Excellent. I'll take this to the judge.

Justin: I'm coming with you.

Laverne: That won't be necessary, counselor.

Justin: I'll be right back, haley.

Haley: Agent smith?

Laverne: Yes?

Haley: I, uh...couldn't help but notice that you've been taking an incredible amount of pleasure in my arrest.

Laverne: As I said before, I'm happy any time justice is served.

Haley: So it doesn't matter to you at all that my--my patients will suffer? That I'm losing everything that I have, that I'm being ripped away from my family and my friends?

Laverne: Actions have consequences, mrs. Dalton. If you'd taken a citizenship test, you'd know that this is a nation built on laws.

Haley: When was the constitution written?

Laverne: Excuse me?

Haley: Just answer the question, agent. If--if you can.

Laverne: Oh, please.

[Laughs]

Haley: 1787. And how many amendments are there?

Laverne: I don't-- what is your point?

Haley: Twenty-seven. I've only been here since I was 13 and I presume you've been here, what, all your life? And yet I'd be willing to bet that I know a hell of a lot more about your beloved country than you do.

Laverne: I'm an american. I know and love my country. And you don't belong here.

[Dramatic music]

Claire: I was just thinking of lyrics for a new song. Um, what are you doing here? I-I thought you would be down at the station with haley.

Tripp: Yeah, I'll head down there in a bit, but I'm sure she's busy with justin at the moment.

Claire: Yeah. Oh, my god, I can't believe she did that. She just blurted out the truth in front of everyone. What made her do that?

Tripp: Jj said eve and jack had a recording of you and me talking about my marriage being fake.

Claire: What?

Tripp: Yep, eve was going to expose our conversation, so haley confessed to protect me.

Claire: Oh, my god. Wow. Tripp, I feel awful about this.

Tripp: Do you?

Claire: Yeah, I--what do you mean?

Tripp: Well, eve managed to record not one but two private moments between you and me.

Claire: Uh-huh, she was obviously stalking us 24/7.

Tripp: Mm-hmm. Well, I-I doubt that.

Claire: Okay. Well, what else could it be?

Tripp: I don't know... maybe she had a little help... from you.

Claire: Wait, what?

Tripp: Claire, be honest with me. Did you give eve that recording?

Rafe: Maybe the marriage was doomed from the start.

Lani: You really believe that?

Rafe: Started with a lie. I lied about sleeping with sami. And looking back, I've... I don't think we ever fully recovered from that.

Lani: You two loved each other, rafe. Anyone could see that.

Rafe: Yeah. I loved hope. Still do. But I also broke our trust and... a person like hope, I... I don't know if you can ever repair that.

Lani: I'm really sorry, rafe.

Rafe: Yeah. Me too.

[Chuckles] Look at me, I'm 0 for 2. 0 for 2 with the marriages. And I will say, I thought that the first one--I didn't think it was my fault. I mean, sami-- look, we both made mistakes, okay, but, you know, sami'S...

Lani: Sami.

Rafe: Yeah.

[Laughter]

Rafe: Sami is sami and she's, you know, she's wild and she's volatile and I loved her, but... you know, hope was strong and she's loyal and... yeah. Thought we were gonna be together forever. So maybe the problem wasn't sami. Maybe the problem... maybe the problem was me.

Jennifer: So you don't believe that there is any way for haley to avoid deportation.

Hope: Justin and an agent from ice are meeting with a judge right now who will determine her fate.

Jennifer: Thanks for the interview.

Hope: Off the record? I just--I can't help thinking, why didn't haley just file the proper paperwork? It never would have come to this. I really do feel bad for her.

Jennifer: I feel bad for her too. And honestly, I don't know if i am more angry or sad just watching jack try to damage so many people's lives.

Hope: Yeah, well, you're not alone.

Jennifer: And eve! I mean, that is why I went to paris, because I can't even stand to be near mr. And mrs. Jack deveraux.

Hope: Maybe I should have gone along with you. Cuz, try not to let it get to you, okay? I can't imagine this marriage lasting. But then again, I, um... shouldn't be one to talk when it comes to marriages falling apart.

Jennifer: What, so you and rafe still--things aren't going well?

Hope: I sent him divorce papers.

Jj: Don't you ever touch me.

Jack: Don't go to the police. Don't go to haley.

Jj: Why? Because it'll make you look bad to the voters? Are you afraid what people will think? That your son's siding with the undocumented immigrant?

Jack: I don't want you to get in trouble. Please.

Jj: I can't believe that you're actually trying to pretend to care about me.

Jack: I care about you.

Jj: Yeah? It's too late for that. So let's get one thing straight. I do not care about you. I hate you. Whatever feelings I had for the man that used to be, they're gone. To me, you are a worthless, pathetic excuse for a man. If there's any justice in this world, you will lose this election... in humiliating fashion.

Claire: Oh, my god. Tripp, of course I didn't give eve that recording. I--honestly, I can believe you think I would do that. I would never do something like that. Okay, first of all, I would not want you to get in trouble. And second of all, I would not want you to go to prison.

Tripp: Which is why eve left my name out of it, right?

Claire: [Stammers] I don't know what you mean.

Tripp: You see, I was thinking about that. You know, if eve had our conversation, she could have just played it for the whole world to hear. So why go through all the trouble to make haley out herself?

Claire: Okay, well, maybe eve just wanted to keep her own hands clean.

Tripp: Yeah, since when is eve worried about that? She likes taking credit.

Claire: Well, now she's shaping public opinion. All right, so this way, jack doesn't have to look shady.

Tripp: Maybe.

Claire: Oh, my god. Wow, I-I cannot believe you think I would do something like that.

Tripp: I wouldn't, except I know how upset you were, me marrying haley. You ripped up our wedding photo.

Claire: Oh, come on. That--that was a moment of weakness, all right? I was frustrated and I missed you.

Tripp: Claire, if you had anything to do with those recordings--

Claire: I did not! Okay? Please, I need you to tell me that you believe me.

Tripp: Two of our private conversations found their way to eve and it's just really hard for me to believe it's just a coincidence.

Claire: Okay, well, it wasn't a coincidence. Eve was obviously trying to catch us. For all we know, she left a bug in the hallway.

Tripp: The hallway?

Claire: Where she recorded us.

Tripp: I never said this particular conversation took place in the hallway.

Claire: Sure you did.

Tripp: No, I didn'T.

Claire: Yeah.

[Stammers] Okay, well, I guess I just assumed... since we had that intimate conversation out there.

Tripp: Oh, my god, claire, you really are behind this, aren't you?

Claire: No, no, please!

Tripp: Just admit it. Tell the truth, claire. The truth, claire!

Claire: Stop yelling at me, please! I'm telling you the truth, tripp! I-- okay, yeah, fine. All right? Yes, it was me. Haley was coming in between us and I wanted to put a stop to it. Humira patients, you inspire us.

Tripp: How could you betray me like this?

Claire: No, come on, okay. I was desperate and I thought i was losing you, tripp. I--

Tripp: Well, you weren't, okay? I made sure you knew that. I told you over and over again I didn't have feelings for haley.

Claire: Come on, you married another woman.

Tripp: And you know exactly why I did that. For god's sakes, I was just trying to help her.

Claire: Yeah, and what about me? All right, what about me? What about--what about what i need and what I want? Oh, my god, you have no idea how much I wanted to play that recording for ice on the day of your wedding.

Tripp: And you almost did, didn't you?

Claire: I-I could not stand the thought of you marrying another woman. Yeah, so... then I thought about it and i realized that you would get in trouble too, right? So--so I bit my tongue and I stayed silent.

Tripp: Except you gave that recording to eve knowing full well what she would do with it.

Claire: Oh, come on. You--you told me that you would be married to haley for three years. Tripp, come on, three--three years of our life! And then you tried to break up with me!

Tripp: So, what, you just thought, "since I can't get what I want and when I want it, so why not just ruin everyone's lives?"

Claire: Okay, I never would have given that recording to eve if she didn't promise me that she would protect you.

Tripp: And what about haley?

Claire: [Stammers] Tripp, what about haley? I--she was using you.

Tripp: I'm the one who offered to marry her.

Claire: Oh, okay, well, I'm sure she made you think that. I'm sure she made you think that, but, you see, I actually saw what was happening. Okay, I saw how she had you and jj both wrapped around her finger. All right, it was a matter of time before she got you into bed.

Tripp: What are you talking-- she has feelings for jj!

Claire: Sure, for now!

Tripp: [Scoffs] Claire, look, if--if you were jealous or upset or going nuts, which you obviously were, you should have just talked to me instead of lying and scheming and being an outright destructive little bitch. And now, thanks to you, haley is being deported and you just destroyed her life.

Haley: I'm surprised you're here. Do I owe you money or something? Do I--did I forget to return a pair of your shoes?

Melinda: I am here because i want to know why you would do something so unbelievably stupid.

Haley: Nice to see you care.

Melinda: I do care! Damn it.

Haley: Then why are you yelling at me?

Melinda: Because I am frustrated. And I'm scared. I mean, you had a plan. It was a terrible one, but at least you had a plan. Why did you tank it all?

Haley: You wouldn't understand, mel.

Melinda: Jack and eve forced your hand, right?

Haley: Obviously.

Melinda: How?

Haley: It doesn't matter how, mel. It doesn't change the fact that I'm going back to china, a place I have been since I was 13 years old. At least then I had mama. And now I'm gonna be all alone.

Melinda: I'm sorry.

Haley: All this--this talk of being sent back, it's brought back so many memories. Memories of being in beijing with mama and papa and... I know you don't like to talk about them. I know you had this huge falling out before I was born.

Melinda: It wasn't about me.

Haley: I miss them both so much.

[Crying] Especially right now. You okay?

Melinda: They would be so disappointed in me right now.

Haley: No. Okay, you--you--you don't need to blame yourself. You've been a good sister. You put me into nursing school. You gave me a home when i didn't even have one. You have no reason to blame yourself, jiejie. You did everything you could to help me stay in this country.

Melinda: That's not true.

Haley: What do you mean?

Justin: Jj.

Jj: Hey, finally. Did the judge make a ruling?

Justin: He did.

Hope: I didn't see a way forward for me and rafe.

Jennifer: Uh... okay, so... talk to me. I mean, this--this is just about you and rafe, right?

Hope: I know why you're asking that and that has nothing--anything--to do with this, so yes, my answer is yes. This is just about me and rafe. What we had... what drew us together, it just... it just doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Jennifer: Yeah, it doesn't seem like it's been there for a while.

Hope: So much has happened. Too much has happened. That chipped away at us and our relationship... our trust in each other. This is--it seems like all we do is fight and hurt each other. I don't want to do that anymore. And rafe, he seems, you know, well... he's taken his ring off.

[Sniffles] So I'm sure that he doesn't-- he doesn't want to do it either. I just--I didn't want it to end like this. Not like this.

Eve: So according to the exit polls--

Jack: What, what, what, what?

Eve: Abe is still ahead.

Jack: Damn! Damn.

Eve: You know what, jack? The night is still young. You know, abe got a lot of the early votes before the news of haley chen came out, so...

Jack: You really think we're gonna turn this around?

Eve: I do. I-I feel it. I felt that momentum arrive when we were in the square. We just have to just take a deep breath. Be patient. The numbers will come up, okay?

Jack: I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to survive the next couple of hours. I am--I think I'm gonna go stir-crazy.

Eve: Well, we could head down to the campaign party--

Jack: No, no, no, no. I cannot go there until I know for sure who won. Let's just--we'll check the numbers again.

Eve: You know...

[Chuckles] I might... just have another way to take your mind off of those results.

Jack: [Chuckles]

Eve: Mm-hmm.

Haley: I know you looked into my legal situation and there was nothing I could do to be a legal citizen at this point, right?

Melinda: I...

Haley: Jj.

Jj: I ran into justin as he was leaving the meeting with the judge.

Haley: Okay, h-how did it go?

Justin: I'm sorry, haley. Unfortunately, the judge has ruled to proceed with the deportation order.

Haley: Well, we knew that was coming, right? When will it happen?

Justin: Ice is making the arrangements as we speak. It should be within the hour.

Haley: Wait, what? Within the hour? No, I-I don't have my things. I haven't even packed.

Justin: You know what, I'll call tripp and get started with all your things getting packed up, okay?

Haley: I-I need to get my money from the bank. You're on my account.

Melinda: I'll go get that now.

Haley: Oh, my god.

[Crying] I can't believe this is happening.

Jj: You have no idea how sorry I am. This is my fault.

Haley: No, jj, don't--don't say that, okay? Don't even think that. You have been there in my darkest moment and--and you were the one that got me help. You saved me. Jj, you saved me and--and even though this is... this is very difficult right now... I know my life isn't over, and that's thanks to you.

Jj: I just--I-- I wish we could have had more time together.

Haley: Me too. And... I wish I could have just said yes when you proposed to me. Because while I'm so grateful to tripp, our marriage wasn't real. But with you, I think it could have been.

Jj: You know, I... I think so too.

[Romantic music]

Claire: Tripp, I-I was doing this--I wanted to do what was right for us. That's why I did this. You--you literally admitted to me that you didn't think this marriage to haley through. Okay, and you didn't realize how long you were committing yourself to this stupid plan.

Tripp: It wasn't a stupid plan, okay? It was meant to help someone that was--their future was hanging in the balance and I was gonna find a way to make things work.

Claire: Work for who?

Tripp: All of us! For haley and for me and for you!

Claire: Okay, well, I-I-i saved you the trouble, 'cause haley isn't your problem anymore.

Tripp: Oh, my god, you're-- you actually think that what you did is okay.

Claire: Come on, no, I know you're upset. I do. But... tripp, I-I--you have to understand that I did this because I want to be with you, okay?

Tripp: [Whispering] No...

Claire: Please, please, just take me home and then we can come up with a solution together as a couple.

Tripp: No, are you out of your mind? What? No, I--what you did was unforgivable, unconscionable, and I can't stand to be in the same room with you, much less be with you as a couple. No! No, we are over, claire. Done. Forever.

[Somber music]

[Knock at door]

Hope: Come in.

Rafe: Hi.

Hope: Hey. Hey.

Rafe: You have a minute?

Hope: Yeah, of course. Come on in.

Rafe: Yeah, uh... these... these were just sent over to me.

Hope: No rush. There's no rush in signing them. I'm sure you want justin to take a look at them.

Rafe: Yeah, n--um... no, I--I just want to make this as painless as possible.

[Somber music]

Hope: You signed them?

Rafe: I did.

[Text alert chimes]

[Tense music]

Jennifer: Oh, my goodness.

Eve: [Sighs] There's something really sexy about just having made love to the next salem mayor.

Jack: Hopefully.

Eve: Definitely.

Jack: Oh, well, if--when i do win...

Eve: Yes.

Jack: It will be because of you; you've made it happen. I must say, I owe it all to your incredible support.

Eve: Mm, well, there is more where that came from.

Jack: Oh!

[Laughter]

[Alert beeps]

Eve: Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Jack: [Laughs]

Eve: We really--really were distracted.

Jack: What?

Eve: They're about to project the winner.

[Dramatic music]

Tripp: You know, I always thought that you could be selfish and petty, but, deep down, I thought you had a good heart.

Claire: No, I-I do. I do, tripp. I'm a good person, I swear.

Tripp: No, no, you are not. You most certainly are not.

Claire: Please don't say that. Please don't say that. Okay, look, I can admit, I made a huge mistake. Okay? But co--I-I did it because i love you. And I want to be with you. Please, tripp, we can--we can work this through. I know we can.

[Alert chirps] Just give me one more chance, please.

Tripp: Justin needs to talk to me, and it's probably about haley's deportation, so...
