Episode #13516 ~ Eric finally comes clean with Sarah. A mysterious person kidnaps Holly. Ben and Ciara make love for the first time. Rafe catches Hope and Ted in a tender moment.

[Both breathing heavily] Ciara, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I just--I can't do this.

Chloe: I'm gonna go check on the kids.

Stefan: Chloe. You said so yourself they were exhausted, that they passed out as soon as their heads hit the pillow. Right? I mean, we have the baby monitor. We'll hear them if they wake up.

Chloe: I know I'm being a little over-protective but still.

Stefan: Being targeted by a cartel will do that to somebody, but that's the past. You and your family, you're safe now, and you and I can finally enjoy some time together.

[Suspenseful music]

Rafe: Lani, hey. I'm--I'm still at work. Heh, yeah, I got held up here. Would it be possible for you to stay a little while longer?

Lani: Sure. It's no problem at all.

Rafe: Oh, that's great. You're the best. Okay. Listen, I actually want to do something nice for you, and i was thinking of stopping by doug's place, maybe pick up a couple of steaks and stuff, but if not--if you're in a hurry, i can head straight there.

Lani: No, no, no, take your time. David has been an angel, and i really don't have any plans.

Rafe: Cool. Talk to you later.

[Knocking at door]

Eli: Thought I'd find you here.

Ted: Hope, we both know you have already lost rafe, and rafe has already lost you. So, please, choose to accept this necklace. Choose to be with me. So take the necklace with my love.

Eric: You said we have to be honest. You think I lied to you?

Sarah: I know you did. You blasted me for sleeping with xander, which god knows is a blast-able offense. It wasn't because you were taking the moral high ground. It was because you were pushing me away.

Eric: I wasn't pushing you--

Sarah: Eric, you don't throw people's sins back in their faces. You said every hurtful and cutting thing you could think of to me because you wanted to kill any hope I had about you. You had to. Because you feel the exact same way for me that I feel for you.

Nicole: Rex.

Rex: Nicole. Nicole--no, wait. Everybody thought that you-- you died.

Nicole: Well, clearly, i didn'T. Where's eric?

Rex: I don't believe what I'm seeing right now.

Nicole: Well, I need to see him. Where is he?

Rex: I don't--I have no idea. He went to grab a bite to eat.

Nicole: Well, find him, damn it. I need to talk to him now.

[Soft orchestration]

Ciara: What do you mean you can't do this?

Ben: No, no, that came out wrong.

Ciara: Yeah.

Ben: [Sighs] What I meant was I don't want any interruptions. I just want it to be us.

Ciara: I want that too. That is why I turned my phone off as soon as the food came.

Ben: Looks like maybe we're thinking along the same lines.

Ciara: Hmm, I'm thinking maybe we are.

Stefan: Harold says dinner is ready.

Chloe: Mmm, great.

[Holly crying] Holly.

[Holly continues crying]

Eric: I don't know how you'd know, you could be so sure how I'm feeling.

Sarah: Your mother. She told me everything.

Eric: What? Why--what? She said she wouldn't say anything.

Sarah: She didn't break her promise to you. She just--she thought I knew.

Eric: Why would she think that?

Sarah: Well, maybe because i told her that I overheard you talking to her and that i confronted you about it.

Eric: Okay. All right.

Sarah: And I--I basically tricked her into telling me. That's how I know about the deal you made with god to let her live and that that vow is the reason that you've been staying away from me. The only reason.

Nicole: Don't play games with me, rex. I need to talk to eric and i don't have a phone. Give me yours.

Rex: What? No.

Nicole: What is the matter with you?

Rex: Listen to me. Eric can't get a phone call from my phone and hear your voice.

Nicole: Well, I'll get one somewhere else then.

Rex: All right, fine, fine. Here.

Eli: Getting kind of late, isn't it?

Lani: Shh. The baby's sleeping.

Eli: Lani, I was waiting to hear from you.

Lani: I know. I'm sorry. Rafe, he got hung up at work, and I just put the baby down.

Eli: What, rafe's never heard of hiring a babysitter?

Lani: Why would he do that? Why would he hire a complete stranger when david is used to me now? What? What is that look?

Eli: This isn't your responsibility.

Lani: I know, but I don't mind.

Eli: Well, maybe I do.

Hope: I can't accept this.

Ted: You know, I can exchange it--

Hope: Ted, I can't take it.

Ted: Why not?

Hope: Because of what it implies.

Ted: Hope, I didn't want to pressure you. I didn't even want to show it to you. I bought this hoping that maybe one day you would realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with me. It looks like it's not going to happen now.

Hope: No. I'm sorry it's not.

[Edgy music]

[Door opens]

Eric: I don't break vows i make to god. I take them very seriously.

Sarah: I know that. It's one of the many things that I... I admire about you.

Eric: I'm glad you understand.

Sarah: And I'm sorry that i accused you of lying. I should have-- I shouldn't have done that, not when I've been lying to myself.

Eric: About what?

Sarah: I was lying when i said that I was okay with us being just friends. I'm not okay with it. It's killing me. And I pushed you away because i had no hope for us. And if I'm being honest, I said "yes" to rex because i thought that I would never have you and that you would never ever be over nicole.

Nicole: [Exhales] You're right. I can't call eric and tell him I'm alive over the phone.

Rex: All right, I'll tell you what, I will call him and I'll tell him to get back here as soon as possible so you can talk to him in person, okay?

Nicole: Yes, thank you.

[Soft music]

[Both sigh]

Ciara: You know, part of me thinks that, uh, I might be dreaming right now.

Ben: Tell me about it.

[Chuckles] I'd pretty much given up the idea of ever being happy, let alone this. This.

[Both laugh]

[Sighs] This is... this is something else. This is more than happy. This is... I don't even have the word.

Ciara: Well, you don't need to think of one because I know exactly what you mean. Ben.

Ben: Yeah?

Ciara: I, uh... I have something really, really important to tell you.

Ben: Me too. Can I go first?

Ciara: Okay.

Ben: I love you. I've never loved anyone like this in my entire life.

Rafe: Oh, wow. Well look at this. You are just--you're pulling out all the stops, aren't you, huh?

Hope: Rafe, you got this wrong.

Rafe: You're out with another man's wife, and now what? What are you, buying her jewelry, is that it?

Hope: Can we just come over here?

Rafe: Do I?

Hope: Yes, you have it wrong.

Rafe: Really?

Hope: Yes.

Rafe: Okay, so explain to me what the hell this is then. What is this, the da is "consulting" with the commissioner? Do you not have offices for this?

Hope: You told me that ted was keeping something from me, and you know what, you were right, he was.

Rafe: Uh-huh.

Hope: The jewelry. That's what that phone call was all about. Actually ted wasn't even going to give me the necklace...

Rafe: He what? No, don't stop now 'cause I feel like you're about to get to the good part.

Hope: Rafe, I confronted him about what you told me.

Rafe: Yeah?

Hope: Yes, so he showed me the necklace to explain what he'd been doing.

Rafe: Buying jewelry for another man's wife.

Hope: I didn't accept that.

Rafe: Oh, you didn't? Oh, you didn't accept--really? 'Cause when I walked in you had your hand on his and you were looking right into his eyes.

Hope: You're jumping to conclusions here.

Rafe: What the hell am i supposed to think?

Hope: You're supposed to trust me. I'm your wife.

Sarah: Don't you see? This changes everything.

Eric: I made a vow to rex that I would never come between you.

Sarah: No, no, no, and you didn'T. You kept that promise. You never told me how you felt about me. You just kept saying that we were friends and we were talking about you taking pictures at the wedding. And ever since that you found out that your mother was gonna live, you honored that vow.

Eric: It still stands.

Sarah: You never came between rex and me. You were honorable and decent and kind. But now it's time for you to be honest. With me and with yourself.

Eric: You're right. I do have feelings for you.

[Soft romantic music]

Rex: It's voicemail. Do you want me to leave a message? Hey, eric, it's rex. Man, look, you need to get back to the apartment as soon as you can. I can't explain it over the phone, but it's really important. In a good way. Look, nicole, you're very uneasy on your feet right now. I'm a doctor. You need to sit down and relax.

Nicole: I will be fine as soon as I see holly.

Rex: Wait, wait, wait, she's not here.

Nicole: Then where is she? Where's my baby?

Stefan: Everything all right? Should I call ben?

Chloe: No, she's fine. I think she just had a nightmare or something. She was crying in her sleep.

[Intense music]

[Door closes]

Rafe: I'm really sick and tired of walking in on the two of you together.

Hope: Rafe.

Rafe: What? What, was this too much? Huh, am I overreacting? Am I making a scene?

Hope: Rafe, yes, stop.

Rafe: Is this too much? Maybe you should have thought of that before you went out to dinner with this creep.

Hope: We're not having dinner.

Rafe: Oh, you're not, really?

Hope: There's no food on the table.

Rafe: Sure looked like you were having a great time when i walked in.

Hope: Please.

Rafe: Sorry.

Lani: I'm sorry I didn't call, but, like I said, I just--

Eli: You spent the night here.

Lani: Why is that such a big deal?

Eli: You can't figure it out?

Lani: No, not really.

Eli: Lani, I want to be with you, just you.

Lani: Shh.

Eli: The... just the two of us. All right? I haven't seen you in forever.

Lani: I know, but I've been--

Eli: I want to spend time with you tonight.

Lani: Okay, you can stick around.

Eli: Stick--here?

Lani: Where else?

Eli: With you and the baby? And rafe, I assume he's coming back.

Lani: Yeah, he is but he won't be back for a while and he's gonna pick up dinner.

Eli: Oh, my god, I don't want to have dinner-- I don't want to have dinner with rafe, lani. I want to have dinner with my girlfriend. Are you saying that you'd rather have takeout with him than spend time with me?

Lani: No, eli, of course that's not what I'm saying. Did you not just hear me ask you if you could join us?

Eli: Yeah, the three of us babysitting together, that sounds like a lot of fun.

Lani: Okay, fine, then don't stay. I don't know what you want from me.

Eli: I want to know that i matter to you. More than this baby. More than rafe.

Lani: Eli, there is nothing going on between rafe and me.

Eli: That's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is you.

Rex: Please, sit.

Nicole: Is holly with eric?

Rex: No.

Nicole: Then why isn't she here?

Rex: Because she doesn't live here.

Nicole: She doe--mm. Eric promised that he would take care of her if anything happened to me. He swore he would.

Rex: No and he has. He felt it was best that holly be with chloe.

Nicole: Chloe?

Rex: I'm gonna let him explain this to you and talk to you about it, but just know that holly's in very good hands. Chloe loves her, takes very good care of her, and she gets to spend time with parker. And I've seen her. She's a very happy little girl.

Nicole: Nothing is what i thought it would be.

Rex: Okay. Look, I-- I can take you to go see holly right now if you want.

Nicole: Yes.

Rex: Okay.

Nicole: Yes, thank you.

Rex: Oh, nicole? Nicole.

Nicole: [Breathing heavily]

Chloe: [Sighs] It's a strange feeling to finally be able to relax.

Stefan: It's a great feeling, huh?

Chloe: Well, when you're usually a nervous wreck, yeah, it's a great feeling.

Stefan: Yeah. You hide it well though.

Chloe: What?

Stefan: Being a nervous wreck. I mean, I know you've had a lot to be nervous about lately, but it's like, at your core, you're very calm and collected, self-possessed.

Chloe: Hmm, I've obviously got you fooled.

Stefan: I'm serious. I know, like I said, it's been a difficult terrifying time for you yet you exude this courage and strength. It's admirable.

Chloe: Well, thank you. I mean, I try not to let my fear overtake me, but, you know, it's hard sometimes.

Stefan: Do you wanna grab a cocktail before dinner?

Chloe: Uh, ooh, no, you know what, honestly, I'm really hungry now.

Stefan: All right, well I can take care of that too.

Chloe: Okay.

Stefan: [Chuckles]

[Suspenseful music]

Chloe: Oh, start eating. I'll be back in a second. Humira patients, you inspire us.

Rafe: You don't think that i love you? You're breaking my heart. Look at-- look what you're doing to us. Have a great dinner.

Hope: Rafe--

Rafe: [Yells]

[Solemn music]

Lani: There's no reason for you to be worried about me.

Eli: No? We lost our son. His name was david, and now you're spending all your time with this other baby whose name is also david.

Lani: So you're saying that just because his name is david that I am more attached to him than I would be otherwise? Like if his name was michael or jason or andrew. Answer me.

Eli: I don't know.

Lani: Well, I do. I care about this baby, eli because he is a precious little soul whose mother is incapable of raising him and he needs me right now and that breaks my heart.

Eli: He's not your baby, lani, and all the wishing in the world isn't gonna make him so or bring our baby back.

Lani: You think I don't know that? Nobody knows that like I do. My god. You think I'm crazy.

Eli: No, lani, I don't think that you're crazy.

Lani: You know what, that baby's mother is crazy, and he needs someone to care for him right now.

Eli: It doesn't have to be you.

Lani: Why not? I am good with him. When he cries, I pick him up, and he stops crying. You just want him to be shipped off to a foster home?

[David cries] You know what? I'm gonna see if he needs changing and I'm gonna try to put him back to sleep. You can stay, go, I really don't care.

Eli: Really?

Lani: Maybe you should go, eli.

Eli: Cool. Yeah, I will. Lani, when rafe gets back, I'd like you to come back to my place. I don't care what time it is.

Lani: We'll see. I'll let you know.

[David continues crying]

Ben: I needed you to know how I feel. I just hope you believe that I'm not still that person who did all those horrible things. Ciara, I'm not... I'm not crazy anymore. And the weird thing is, with you in my life, I'll never be crazy again ever. You make me happy. You made me happy when I didn't think happy was even a possibility.

Ciara: You know, you did that for me too. I have my own reason to believe that I would never fall in love or have anyone love me back for that matter.

Ben: Chase?

Ciara: Yeah, chase. But with you... with you, ben, it's like-- it's like everything he did, it's finally in the past. And... I love you too.

[Moans softly]

Ben: [Sighs]

Eric: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that.

Sarah: Why not? We're finally being honest with each other. This is a good thing.

Eric: But what about rex? Be honest. I slept with nicole behind brady's back and look what happened. I cannot lose another brother.

Sarah: No, I get that. We've both been lying to rex, to each other, and to ourselves, so... what do we do now?

Rex: Okay, okay, nicole. Here, have a seat. Have a seat right here. You can see holly tomorrow.

Nicole: No, I--

Rex: Look, if you see holly right now in this condition, you're gonna scare the hell out of her.

Nicole: You're right. Eric and I should go together. She knows him.

Rex: Yeah, right, exactly. Here, give me your hand.

Nicole: What are you doing?

Rex: I'm just--I'm checking your pulse.

Nicole: What if she doesn't remember me? And what if she hates me for leaving her?

Rex: Okay, okay, hey, hey. Listen, listen. You gotta calm down. It took a lot for you to get here, and you made it. And everything's gonna be fine. I just need to make sure, in the process, you did not overdue it, okay? Just wait right here. I'll be right back.

Chloe: [Sighs] I can't believe I forgot this.

[Suspenseful music]

Ciara: Ben.

Ben: Hmm?

Ciara: I have something else that I really need to tell you. I'm so, so hungry.

Ben: You ate everything you ordered and half of mine.

Ciara: Well, so? You know what. Happiness makes me hungry.

Ben: [Blows raspberry]

Ciara: Mm! Ooh, we have fortune cookies. I totally forgot.

Ben: Oh, great. Nobody eats those.

Ciara: I do.

Ben: What? They're dry and make your mouth all dry. They have no taste.

Ciara: Maybe to you. Mmm.

[Laughs] Okay, this is a crap fortune. Don't--don't you eat that cookie. They don't come true if you don't eat the cookie.

Ciara: Well, there are plenty more.

Ben: Aw.

Ciara: [Sighs] You know, I am searching for something along the lines of you are going to live happily ever after.

Ben: Let me help.

[Wrappers crinkling]

Ciara: Mm.

[Both laugh]

Stefan: To the future.

Chloe: Mm. Well, I feel like I can finally have one, thanks to you.

[Soft romantic music]

Stefan: What? Something wrong?

Chloe: No... I guess I just don't feel like I'm ready to jump into something new yet, and this has been such a wonderful evening, so maybe we should just end it right now. And don't think that this means that I don't want to do this again. I do. This was so nice, and I'm so grateful for everything that you've done for me, and especially my kids.

Stefan: It's my pleasure, and you know this isn't me trying to cash in on that, right?

Chloe: Oh, yeah, yeah, I know that. I just don't want to move to fast.

Stefan: I get it.

Chloe: Okay.

Stefan: Well, sleep well.

Chloe: Thanks.

Stefan: I'll see you in the morning.

Chloe: Right. Good night, stefan.

Stefan: Night.

Rex: Okay, your temperature's elevated and your blood pressure is low.

Nicole: Other than that, I'm great?

Rex: You're severely dehydrated so I gotta get you some water.

Nicole: Wouldn't gin do just the same?

Rex: [Snickers]

[Solemn music]

Rex: He thinks about you every day. He still loves you.

Nicole: That's what got me through this, knowing that. I can't let him see me like this. Excuse me.

[Door closes]

Rex: [Sighs]

Eric: We can't lie to rex. I won't do it.

Sarah: No, me either.

[Cell phone beeps] We can't go any further unless we talk to him.

Eric: He called.

Sarah: Well, I'm supposed to have dinner with him at your place. He's probably wondering where I am. I'm gonna--I'm gonna go, eric. I have to tell him the truth.

Eric: No. I let nicole go to brady alone. It was the worst mistake that i ever made. I'm not gonna make the same mistake again. We're gonna do this. We're gonna do this together.

Sarah: Does it help that this--that I've never been happier?

Eric: It helps a lot. In terms of treating sensitivity,

[Gentle piano music]

Rafe: Hey.

Lani: Hey.

Rafe: I am so sorry that i took so long. Everything okay?

Lani: Yeah, everything is fine. I just put david down.

Rafe: Oh, my god.

Lani: He is a happy little camper.

Rafe: [Chuckles] You really do have a way with him, you know? Anyway, I appreciate it. I really do, so thank you. And I got a couple of to-go things here, one of which is for you and eli. I know you two haven't really been spending much time together, so--

Lani: You don't have to worry about that. I talked to eli and he said to say as long as you and david need me here.

Rafe: Okay.

Lani: Yeah.

Ted: Hope, I'm so sorry about all this. I should never have bought this necklace. I definitely never should have given it to you in a public place. The last thing I want to do is bring more trouble between you and rafe. I'm sorry. I'll take it back in the morning.

Hope: Ted, don't go.

Ben: You know... these fortune cookies, not bad.

Ciara: Mm, see? See, I told you they have some taste in them, right?

Ben: Still pretty dry though.

Ciara: Mm.

Ben: Not bad but still pretty dry.

Ciara: Turn it back on, ben. Your phone. I know that you're worried about chloe and the kids.

Ben: It's my night off.

[Chuckles] You sure?

Ciara: Mm-hmm. Positive. I actually really like that you care about them and watch out for them.

Ben: Just in case.

Ciara: Yeah.

Ben: But to be honest with you, I really, really don't want to think about anything else but you.

Chloe: Holly!

[Screams] Holly!

[Door opens]

Rex: Jeez, what the hell? I said it was important.

Sarah: Rex, we need to talk.

Rex: Yeah, I'm so sorry. There's no time for that right now. Eric, I literally don't know how to tell you this.

Eric: Oh, my god.
