Chloe: Yeah, he's fine, and thankfully, holly's still asleep. Oh, my god, if something would've happened to her...

Brady: Hey, hey, hey. It's okay. It's okay. It's over. The nightmare is over.

Chloe: Well, if it is over, it's not because of you.

[Melancholy music]

Kayla: Hey, hope! How are you?

Hope: Hi. Hey.

Kayla: Good to see you.

Hope: Oh, you too, honey.

Kayla: What's wrong?

Hope: Pretty much everything.

Kayla: Well, why don't we sit down, and you can tell me all about it?

Hope: No, I don't have time. I need to go to the station.

Kayla: Well, you know what? The station will be there in ten minutes. Come on. Just sit down. Come on.

[Melancholy music] What's going on?

Hope: [Sighs] Uh... rafe and I had a huge fight.

Kayla: Well, how huge?

Hope: He moved out.

Kayla: I think it's going to take a little longer than ten minutes.

Ted: There's no point changing phones now. I'm at the station. I cannot talk long. What'd you want? Everything's good-- better than good. Hope just told me that the husband has just moved out. Yeah, I'm sure. Well, with a bit of-- with a bit of luck, rafe hernandez could be out of the picture permanently.

Gabi: Rafe! Rafe! Oh, my god! Rafe! Call--call 911! Tell them an officer's down! Please call them! Help, please! Rafe, rafe, oh, my god. Rafe, you're okay. You're stable.

Stefan: This is stefan dimera. Detective hernandez has been shot in my house!

Gabi: It's okay. Just wake up. I'm right here. I'm right here, okay? Rafe?

Brady: What do you mean by that? I mean, it's not like i just stood there. Why are you-- why are you busting my chops about this?

Eli: Brady, I should thank you. I would've never got the drop on that guy if you hadn't snuck up on him.

Brady: It's okay. It's okay. I'm just glad that I could help.

Chloe: Ugh, I wish I could just wake up from this nightmare and have everything be over. I can't believe that we're not safe anywhere, not even in stefan's house!

Brady: That's why you need to move in with me. That's why!

Chloe: This is not his fault. This is a horrible situation that I brought upon myself!

Brady: What, by killing el fideo? Are you kidding me? What were you supposed to do, have him kill you and maybe hundreds of other people, or worse yet, have-- have him keep you prisoner for the rest of your life?

Eli: Hey, look, I was just coming to tell you guys that csi and the coroner--they're on their way over here. I need to secure this area before they get here. You guys gotta wait outside.

Brady: All right, we will.

[Cell phone rings]

Eli: Detective grant.

Chloe: I guess we should do what he says.

Brady: Hold on. Wait, hold on. I didn't mean to start an argument. I'm so relieved that you and holly are okay.

Chloe: When you say that, I actually feel like you mean it.

Brady: You know I mean it. Of course I mean it.

Chloe: And then an hour from now, you're gonna be telling me that I'm making a mistake again, because I'm trusting someone on a long list of people that you hate.

[Suspenseful percussion music]

Ted: Well, the important thing is it's looking more and more like hope and i are gonna end up together. Well, you should give a damn. Because I'm in love with her.

Hope: Rafe thinks I'm encouraging ted, leading him on, and refuses to believe me when i tell him it's just-- hey, it's the complete opposite.

Kayla: Maybe you need to get ted to leave you alone.

Hope: We're fighting about a lot more than just ted.

Kayla: Okay.

Hope: Rafe's decided that he wants to be the caregiver for david. No, I'm sorry. Jordan's baby.

Kayla: Oh. And that's not what you want.

Hope: Not under these circumstances. First of all, the problems that rafe and I are having... would you bring a baby into this? I mean, I-it's just... the timing--it's just really bad for us, and he wants us to take care of the baby until jordan gets out of bayview.

Kayla: And who knows when that'll happen? What about the biological father?

Hope: She won't say who the father is.

Kayla: Oh, right.

Hope: I mean, rafe's already getting attached.

Kayla: So he could really get his heart broken.

Hope: Yeah, he could. Hey, like I said, under normal circumstances, if things were good-- I mean really good-- between rafe and me, then of course. I mean, of course I would take this baby in, but... it has to work for both of us, kay. For both of us. It can't be just his decision alone.

Kayla: And that's what he's done.

Hope: Right, yeah. And this is where we are.

Stefan: Yes, his sister says he is breathing, and he has a pulse, but he has lost a lot of blood. Do not tell me to calm down! This man took a bullet that was meant for me, so if I don't hear sirens in the next couple of minutes, you, sir, are gonna be looking for a job! They're on their way.

Gabi: Rafe, please, stay with me. Rafe. This is all my fault.

Stefan: No, this is the fault of the thug who broke in here.

Gabi: No, I texted rafe. I told him to come here.

Stefan: Because hector had a gun on you and ciara.

Gabi: But I didn't warn him! I didn't tell him what he was going to be walking into.

Stefan: Beating yourself up is not gonna help your brother!

Gabi: Stop yelling at me!

Stefan: I'm just saying, you did the only thing you could think of.

Gabi: Oh, god, rafael, what did I do to you?

Stefan: Look. You were just trying to save your own life, and ciara'S.

Gabi: Yeah, a lot of good that did. Ciara's all alone with that crazy man, okay? What's gonna happen to her?

Ciara: Okay, okay, listen to me. My grandfather-- he's victor kiriakis, okay? You must have heard of him.

Hector: What do I care who your grandfather is? Shut up.

Ciara: I have a trust fund, okay, and if what I have isn't enough...

[Man yells] Then my grandfather will come up with the rest of the money. Please, just let me go!

Hector: Shut up. Get down! Get down. Go.

[Suspenseful synth music]

Kayla: Take it from me. Don't let this sit with rafe. Talk to him before the gulf between you gets harder and harder to cross. Where's he staying?

Hope: At his family's house. I just came from there. He wasn't home.

Kayla: Mm. Well, you're a good cop. Track him down. All right, I gotta get back to the hospital, but if you need me, you know where to find me, right?

Hope: Okay.

Kayla: I love you.

Hope: I love you, too. Thanks.

Ted: If you don't give a damn about my personal life, why did you call? Well, as far as I know, the guys who's after chloe lane and her children are still on the loose, and that is why chloe lane and her children are still at stefan's place. Why do you care about all that, by the way?

Brady: Okay, hey, all I did was ask gabi to keep me posted on you and the kids, on where you were.

Chloe: Okay, stalker.

Brady: Chloe, come on. That's pretty unfair to say that.

Chloe: Oh, is it? How would you like it if I asked someone to keep me posted on where you are, or were? Do you think that that's normal behavior?

Brady: Is it a crime for me to want to make sure that you're safe? Is it?

Chloe: What you want is to mess with me and stefan. That's what you've wanted for weeks.

Brady: Chloe, I just care about you. That's it.

Chloe: No, you're jealous. You've now decided that you have a thing for me, so you don't want me to be with anyone else, especially not stefan.

[Tense music]

Ben: Ciara!

Ciara: [Sotto] Ben...

[Gasps] Ow!

Hector: Move!

Ben: Hope.

Hope: What's wrong? What is it? What?

Ben: One of the cartel guys. His name's hector. He has ciara.

Hope: What? How?

Ben: She was visiting me at the dimera house. She was there when he broke in. He took 'em-- he took her as a hostage.

Hope: How can you let this happen?

Ben: What, you don't think I'm thinking that about myself?

Hope: Did you call the station?

Ben: Of course I called the station! I was following her! I was following her, hope, okay?

Hope: Gonna call rafe.

Ben: I--rafe already knows.

Hope: What? What are you talking about?

Ben: He was there, too.

Hope: Why hasn't he called me? I--

Ben: Gabi was there, and...

Hope: My god. Why hasn't he called me, ben?

Ben: Hector fired a shot at stefan. Rafe...

Hope: Rafe what? What?

Ben: Rafe took the bullet.

Gabi: You said the ambulance was coming, right? Where the hell are they?

[Siren blares]

Stefan: See? See? They're gonna be banging on the door in a couple of minutes. They're gonna take good care of rafe. He's going to be fine.

Gabi: If he's so fine, then why doesn't he open his eyes? Ra--rafe, hang on, okay?

Stefan: Hey. Rafe's a strong guy. He's in good shape. He's going to beat this. Okay?

Gabi: Yeah, he has to. He has to.

Chloe: You know what's really disturbing? You go from one relationship to the next without a break, or a very short one, and I'm not gonna even try to list the amount of women that you've been involved with, because I don't have the time for that, but I'm just gonna point out that maybe, just maybe, you have a problem.

Brady: I have a problem? What--what would that be? What are you accusing me of?

Chloe: I don't know. Of--of being shallow.

Brady: I'm shallow. I'm shallow because I believe in relationships and love. That's what makes me shallow.

Chloe: Oh, come on. Give me a break. You believe in sex.

Brady: That's low, and that's not fair.

Chloe: Okay, so maybe you're not shallow. Let me throw out another theory. Maybe--

Brady: Okay...

Chloe: Maybe you're just extremely codependent.

Brady: [Scoffs] When did you become a shrink? I had no idea that--

Chloe: I'm just trying to figure you out! I'm trying to figure out why you've glommed on to the idea of taking care of me and my kids, and why you need to oversee my every move.

Brady: Well, maybe I wouldn't have to if you weren't living with a--with a heartless monster or son of a bitch who came from a family of murderers, chloe. It's a concern.

Chloe: Don't you dare trash-talk stefan. He's been nothing but kind and generous to me and my children.

Brady: Of course he has, I know, because he wants to have his way with you. Don't you get that? Don't you see that?

Chloe: No, I don't get that, 'cause not only has he been kind and generous, he's never once been inappropriate with me.

Brady: Give him some time.

Chloe: You know what? I'm not gonna listen to this.

Brady: No, you've completely lost track of the fact-- you remember what he did to abigail? Did you hear about that?

Chloe: That... was a complicated situation.

Brady: No, it wasn't a complicated situation. He had sex with a mentally ill married woman. Not complicated.

Chloe: They were in love!

Brady: They-- I can't believe you're actually defending what he did to abigail. That's crazy to me.

Chloe: I'm just saying it wasn't sex for him. He was deeply in love.

Brady: Chloe lane, you are in deep denial about who stefan dimera is.

[Melancholy string music]

Ted: Maybe I should remind you that I'm talking to you from the police headquarters. Hope could walk in at any minute. What if she figures out who I'm talking to? I gotta go.

Eli: Sounded pretty upset.

Ted: You look pretty upset.

Eli: There was another attempt on chloe lane.

Ted: Is she all right?

Eli: She's lucky. I just happened to walk into the middle of it. The guy who calls himself ramon is dead now.

Ted: And you let the other guy get away?

Eli: Hector wasn't there. Ramon came by himself this time.

Ted: And what hector is up to now?

Eli: That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Ted: [Sighs]

Hope: Ben? Is he all right? Is he alive, ben?

Ben: Gabi and stefan are with him. I left to go after ciara. Look at me, hope. This guy, hector, has a gun on her. He's getting away--

Hope: Hold on. Hold on!

[Cell phone rings]

Kayla: Hope. Hope, I've been trying to reach you. Listen, um, the emts have brought rafe in.

Hope: I know. Is he all right? I mean, is he alive? Where'd he take the bullet?

Kayla: Uh, in the shoulder. He has a head injury, too. They're working on him now, uh, and there's something else.

Hope: I know. The guy who shot rafe took ciara hostage.

Kayla: Yeah, yeah, that was-- I was about to tell you that.

Hope: I can't come to the hospital right now. I need to find--

Kayla: No, listen, you find ciara, okay, and know that rafe is in good hands.

Hope: I'll get there as soon as I can, all right? Tell rafe that I love him. Tell him.

[Uneasy music]

Ben: I told you ciara was here.

Hope: Oh, my god. It's one of the earrings I gave ciara when she graduated from high school.

Hector: We wait here until we know if we lost your boyfriend.

Ciara: Yeah, well, he's not gonna give up, and neither is my mom, especially after she finds out that you shot her husband and took off with me.

Hector: Shut your mouth!

Ciara: She's the police commissioner, okay? This place is gonna be swarming with cops, so you might as well face it, hector. You're screwed.

Hector: I got the right passport.

Ciara: Like hell.

[Grunts]

Hector: Oh, you little bitch!

[Groans] In terms of treating sensitivity,

Brady: I just want to protect you.

Chloe: You're trying to mark your territory, and I'm not yours to mark.

Brady: No, I--you-- you've been a very important part of my life since you were in high school. You realize that?

Chloe: Oh, so that's your reason for hovering around me now: Because we've known each other since high school. Okay, well, as I recall, there were many years where i didn't even hear from you, when I was going through my own bad time, and you were nowhere to be found.

Brady: Well, you--as-- as you recall, I was going through some bad times of my own, and I'm very sorry about that, but I'm here for you now, and right now, you have two small kids, and you have a drug lord that's after you. I can't just sit back. Do you want me to be nonchalant about this? Can't do it, chloe.

Chloe: No, I just want you to trust that I know what's best for me and my kids.

Brady: Oh, my god. I do trust you, completely.

Chloe: Really? Then why did you conspire with gabi to lie to me? Why did you get rid of stefan this morning and take his place at that picnic?

Brady: Because I wouldn't have to do that if you would just keep me in the loop.

Chloe: Keep you in the loop? Is that what you call running my life?

Brady: Your life--your life-- your life is in danger. So is holly's and so is parker'S.

Chloe: You think I don't know that?

Brady: Then you need backup. You need help. I want to be the guy that helps you. I-I mean... I just want to be him. Is that so bad?

Chloe: No, no, it's not, and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I said earlier. Eli was right. If you hadn't shown up, god knows what would have happened. Look, I've got to get her home and into her own bed.

Brady: S-stefan'S. That's where you're taking her. Are you kidding me? I can't believe you're taking her--

Chloe: What's wrong with that?

Brady: How about the fact that two killers were able to just walk in there without even so much as knocking on the door?

Chloe: What am I supposed to do?

Brady: Chloe, what you're supposed to do is come home with me. Please.

Chloe: Brady... no.

Eli: All I can tell you is that ramon showed up at doug's place, and now he's in a morgue.

Ted: We are taking major heat on this case. Chloe lane and her children could be dead by now.

Eli: But they're not.

Ted: Detective grant, please get this under control before anybody else gets hurt.

[Cell phone rings]

Eli: Detective grant. When?

Ted: What is it?

Eli: Pssh. Yeah, yeah, no, I'm on my way.

Ted: What was that about?

Eli: Hector broke into the dimera house. He shot rafe.

Ted: What's his condition?

Eli: All I know is that he's still alive and he's headed to university hospital.

[Tense synth music]

[Somber music]

[Elevator bell dings]

Stefan: Hey.

Gabi: Thank you for driving me here.

Stefan: You were in no condition to drive. Any word?

Gabi: Well, kayla says that he's lucky. A few inches closer to his heart and he...

Stefan: It didn't happen that way. Hold onto that.

Gabi: You don't understand what he means to me. Okay? Nobody does. My father, my brother-- they're imprisoned or on the run. My sister's dead, and my mother--she couldn't take it here, so she moved back to mexico with family. Rafe is the only family I've got.

Stefan: Okay. He seems like a fighter.

Gabi: Every single time I've screwed up, every single time I've screwed up other people's lives, he's been there. He's--he's been right-- right there, standing by my side, and I've taken that for granted. I have.

Stefan: Don't go there.

Gabi: I just-- I don't know. Thinking about him not being here, I just-- I c--I have to have him in my life. I just can't even think about him not being here. I can'T. I can't think about that.

Stefan: Come here.

[Gabi cries]

[Somber music]

Chloe: Let it go, brady. I am not taking help from victor.

Brady: You wouldn't be taking it from victor. You'd be taking it from me, and maggie, the kids' grandmother. She--she's just as interested in protecting you and the kids as I am.

Chloe: Uh, yeah, and victor's only interested in insulting me, and he's probably gonna use this situation to somehow deem me an unfit mother and try to take my kids!

Brady: No, no, listen, i wouldn't let him do that.

Chloe: Oh, really, you wouldn't "let" him?

Brady: Yeah. W-why do you say it like that? You don't think I have sway with my grandfather? Well, you're wrong about that...

Chloe: Oh, please.

Brady: I could make him understand how important the situation is. I can do that. And how important you are to me as well.

Chloe: [Scoffs] You know that that wouldn't make one bit of difference.

Brady: Why not?

Chloe: I've seen on multiple occasions, in front of me, in fact, you trying to stop him from insulting me. It's never worked. That man is a card-carrying misogynist. He thinks that all women, with the possible exception of maggie, are sluts and losers.

Brady: Oh, c-come on. No, that's not true.

Chloe: Okay, fine. Well, he thinks I'm a slut and a loser. Why in god's name would I put myself through that?

Brady: Chloe, come on. First of all, it's a huge house. It's huge, all right? You wouldn't even have to see victor half the time.

Chloe: Oh, yeah, that would be easy, just trying to keep two little kids confined to one part of the house.

Brady: He doesn't--he doesn't even use half the house, okay? He's not in the upstairs den, he's not in the music room, he's not in the library... name a room, he's not in it.

Chloe: Brady, this conversation is over. Mm, we'll--we'll be fine. My kids are safe with me.

Brady: You're not gonna take any suggestion that I give you, are you?

Chloe: No, I'm just sick and tired of everyone telling me what to do.

Brady: Chloe, I'm not doing that!

[Somber music]

Stefan: Ah, sorry. I didn't mean to, uh, overstep.

Gabi: How is he?

Kayla: Hi. Hi. He lost a lot of blood, but we stopped it, and he's stable now, okay?

Gabi: But he fell on his head and he hit his--

Kayla: I know. There's no sign of a hematoma or a concussion. His injuries are not life-threatening. He's gonna make a full recovery.

Gabi: Oh, my god, thank you.

Kayla: Mm-hmm.

Gabi: Can I go see him?

Kayla: Yes, he's asking for you.

Gabi: I should call hope.

Kayla: No, I took care of it. I called.

Gabi: Okay.

[Tense chime music]

Hey. W-what are you doing? What are you doing?

Rafe: I gotta get to hope and find ciara.

Gabi: No, you just had a bullet taken out of your body. You need to rest. Come on.

Kayla: Rafe, rafe, come on now. Take it easy.

Rafe: But hope--she's gonna be so scared.

Kayla: No, listen, I told you that she's handling it, and she wanted you to know that. She'll get here as soon as she can, all right?

Rafe: I can't just lie here.

Gabi: Yeah, yeah, yes--

Kayla: Yes, you can.

Eli: Rafe, we got this. All right? I'm sorry, but you've been officially taken off duty roster.

Rafe: Oh... well, no, no, let me call her.

Kayla: Fine.

Eli: Here you go.

[Line trilling]

Rafe: Voice mail.

Hope: Can you confirm that all main roads have been blocked off? Great. Thanks. Keep me posted. Roadblocks are in place.

Ben: They know anything about hector's partner?

Hope: Yeah, he's dead. He tried to grab chloe again at doug's place. Eli took him out. Damn it! Stefan should've called me the minute he knew that hector was on the move.

Ben: Hope, he couldn'T. There wasn't enough time. I'm gonna keep looking for her. If you want to go back to the station and supervise or if you want to visit rafe--

Hope: I am staying out here in the field, and I'm going to find my daughter.

Ben: I'm going with you.

Hope: [Sighs]

[Tense music]

Hector: Do anything like that again, and you're dead.

Ciara: You kill me, and you lose your ticket out of here, and you know it.

Stefan: Eli grant just told me that you could've died tonight. Are you and holly all right?

Stefan: No, no, no, no. Don't go there.

Chloe: Oh, okay. And do you know what's going on? There are cops all over the square, and they just asked me for my id.

Stefan: While ramon was after you, hector broke back into the house.

Chloe: Oh, my god. Are you all right?

Stefan: Yeah, I'm fine. Hector found his way to gabi and ciara before I could. Uh, I guess gabi managed to send a text off to rafe, telling him to come to the house, and I walked in. Hector had a gun on gabi and ciara. Then he turned the gun on me. That's when rafe marched in, and he ended up taking a bullet that was meant for me.

Chloe: Oh, god, please tell me he's not dead.

Stefan: He took a bullet just off the shoulder. I think he's going to be all right. Hector got away. He took ciara as a hostage.

Chloe: Oh, my god, this is all so awful.

Stefan: All right, look, the reason I'm calling you is I made arrangements for you and the kids to stay at the salem inn until it's safe to return home. All right? The nanny is already there with parker, so just get there as soon as you can.

Chloe: Okay, okay. Uh... thanks for taking care of all that. Uh, the kids are gonna need stuff from the house. I--i can't think right now.

Stefan: No, no, no. The nanny already packed everything. All you need to worry about is getting yourself and holly there tonight, okay?

Chloe: Right. Thank you.

Stefan: Yeah, I'll be in touch.

Chloe: [Hangs up]

[Sighs]

[Disquieting music]

Stefan: Hey. How's he doing?

Gabi: Well, eli and I had to double-team him to make sure he stayed in the bed, but at least he's acting like himself again.

Stefan: Just got off the phone with chloe.

Gabi: How's she?

Stefan: Little shaken up. Had to tell her about rafe and ciara.

Gabi: Right, uh, you know, I should probably call arianna and wish her good night. I mean, how do I even tell her about all this?

Stefan: You want me to drive you over there?

Gabi: I don't know.

Stefan: 'Cause if you think you should stay here, you should.

[Tranquil music]

Gabi: Well, I mean, rafe's in good hands, and he needs his rest. What he really needs is his wife.

Rafe: I just want you to know I'm fine and, uh... I wish, more than anything, I was with you looking for ciara right now. I love you.

Eli: I got you.

Rafe: Thanks for the phone.

Eli: Yeah. You know the whole department's got hope's back on this. We'll find ciara.

Rafe: Okay.

Kayla: He needs to take it easy, so don't stay long, all right?

Eli: All right.

Rafe: Oh, I hate this.

Eli: You're gonna hate it even more if you mess the stitches up. Come on, man. You gotta do what you're told.

Rafe: You don't know that.

Eli: Did you forget I'm the son of a surgeon?

I hate that hope's alone going through this, especially now.

Eli: Well, she--you told me that you moved out.

Rafe: Yeah. I'll bet ted laurent's trying to move in.

Eli: About him... there's something you should know.

[Suspenseful music]

Ted: Hello, miss lane.

Chloe: Oh, monsieur laurent.

Ted: Sorry if I startled you. I heard what happened with ramon tonight. I'm--I'm very sorry.

Chloe: Yeah, it was terrifying, to say the least. Thank god detective grant showed up when he did.

Ted: The police is going to need statements from you and brady black.

Chloe: Yeah, could we do that tomorrow, please? I heard that ramon's partner's still out there, and he kidnapped ciara brady, so I would love to get my daughter inside somewhere reasonably safe.

Ted: Sure. The--the dimera mansion?

Chloe: Uh, no. Uh, stefan said it'd be safer if we were at the salem inn tonight.

Ted: Don't worry. The police is going to find this man, hector, very soon. You don't have to be worried anymore.

[Suspenseful synth music]

Gabi: Okay, here we are. Casa hernandez.

Stefan: Hmm. Very nice.

Gabi: Well, it's a far cry from the dimera mansion, but it's cozy.

Stefan: Very cozy. How're you doing, gabi?

Gabi: Better, much better. Thank you for everything you did for me tonight.

Stefan: Yeah, you don't need to worry about any of this. Rafe will be back to himself tomorrow, and you and I will be back to fighting like cats and dogs.

Gabi: [Laughing] Oh. I've missed that.

Stefan: Right?

Gabi: Yeah.

Stefan: And this whole "being civil to one another"-- it's getting a little tiresome.

Gabi: Yeah, I totally agree.

Stefan: Yeah.

[Cell phone rings]

Stefan: [Sighs] It's my security. Hey, you better have good news. You're gonna be flipping burgers in a roadside diner outside baraboo, wisconsin, tomorrow.

Gabi: You want me... to seduce stefan?

Brady: What, you don't think you could pull it off?

Gabi: G--the guy disgusts me, okay? I can't even be close to him--

[Both talking]

Brady: Hear me out. Hear me out.

Gabi: Brady, it's a no.

Brady: What if... you controlled dimera, and then you wouldn't have to worry about it? You would also have complete control over gabi chic.

Gabi: Hold on a second. Wait a minute. Wait-- how did this go from I'm seducing stefan to now I'm controlling dimera?

Brady: It's very simple. Step one, you seduce him. Step two, you marry him. Step three, you take him for everything he's got. You take his business, you take his money, you take his heart, and once you have all those things in your hands, we burn his ass to the ground.

Gabi: You know you sound crazy, right? I'm supposed to just-- I'm supposed to seduce stefan, and then he's gonna ask me to marry him?

Brady: Gabi... the man has been a pariah since he came to town, okay? He has no friends. Lonely. The only woman that's shown him any attention was a-- was a glitch in abigail's brain, and he fell madly in love with that. Trust me, you show him a little bit of tenderness, make him feel a little special, he's gonna be putty in your arms.

Gabi: You really think it's that easy?

Brady: I do. I think if you find a time to just spontaneously... kiss him or something, you'll have him.

Gabi: [Inhales sharply]

Brady: What?

Gabi: Well, brady, I, uh-- I already kissed him.

Brady: What?

Gabi: Yeah. Shocked the hell out of him.

Brady: [Laughs] But wait a second. I thought you two hated each other.

Gabi: Well, it was a-- it was a hate kiss.

Brady: Hate kiss? Oh, how'd he respond to your hate kiss?

Gabi: Well, after he got over the shock, he said it did nothing for him, but I know he was lying.

Brady: Yeah? He was into it, wasn't he?

Gabi: What can I say? I'm a good kisser.

Brady: Good for you. This is perfect. You understand how perfect this is? You've already laid the seeds. All you have to do is let him know how much that his kiss affected you. Can you do that?

Gabi: You forgot what I just told you. I hate him. I-I think he's a disgusting human being.

Brady: You know what, gabi? I do too, but you have to look at the good sides. You have to-- you know, he's got this brooding thing going on, and he has money, he has power-- you know, look at those things.

Gabi: What are you suggesting?

Brady: I think what I'm suggesting is you probably wouldn't have kissed him if there wasn't a little bit of you that wanted to.

Stefan: No, no, no, hector's too smart to go back to the house with a hostage. Did you send somebody over to the salem inn to be with chloe? No, no, no, no. Send bobby. He got a better look at hector. Any word from ben? All right. I'll be home soon.

[Hangs up] Should get going.

Gabi: Yeah.

Stefan: You sure you're okay, staying here by yourself with hector still on the loose?

Gabi: I, uh, I think he's gonna want to stay as far away from salem as possible, especially without ciara.

Stefan: You're not answering my question.

Gabi: What do you mean?

Stefan: You've been through hell today.

[Suspenseful music]

Gabi: Well, I guess you just left me a little shaken up.

Ted: Just try not to worry too much, miss lane. Very soon, your children and yourself will be--will be safe, I assure you.

Chloe: Hm, I hope to god you're right. Thanks.

Ted: Welcome.

[Ominous music]

[Dials phone]

[Line trilling] Have an update for you. I just talked to chloe lane.

Rafe: Stop beating around the bush. What do you know about laurent?

Eli: He was on the phone in the interrogation room. He had his back to the door, so he didn't hear me come in, but... whoever he was talking to, he didn't want hope to know.

Rafe: You hear him say that? You sure? Did you confront him about it?

Eli: I tried to, but he slithered out of it. Jackass started hammering me about hector.

Rafe: I knew it. I knew that creep was up to something.

[Sighs] He lays a finger on my wife, I might kill him.

[Suspenseful music]

Hope: We searched every inch of the square. He got away somehow. Damn it, ben! He could be anywhere by now. Stefan should've called me! He should've called me! Wait a minute.

Ben: What?

Hope: If he gave orders to you or his security team to keep this private, so help me god--

Ben: Hope, he didn't! He didn't, and I would've never followed an order like that, ever.

Hope: I need to check in with the station.

Oh, my god. Ciara. She's leaving us a trail. Good girl. Good going, baby.

Ciara: Telling you--agh! Dragging me along with you is a big mistake, okay? I'm only slowing you down.

Hector: Yeah. You're right. Hasta luego.
