Episode #13489 ~ Ben and Ciara find themselves in a dangerous situation when gunshots are fired at the DiMera mansion; Jennifer puts Jack on the hot seat during a tense interview; Tripp suspects Claire has been lying to him; Haley's fate is decided.

Provided By Suzanne

[Romantic music]

Ciara: So I, uh, I guess I was wrong about you not being that into me.

Ben: That does not mean that I think we should be together. [Clears throat]

Ciara: [Chuckles] Okay. What if we take things slow? Like we did in the beginning... when it was just you and me in the cabin and you were so good to me.

Ben: I do like being good to you. I'd give you the whole world if I could.

Ciara: All I want is you.

[Glass cracks]

[Echoing gunshot]

[Both breathing heavily]

Chloe: Oh, my god! What--

Stefan: Chloe, stay-- stay where you are.

Ben: Someone fired a shot through the french doors!

Stefan: Are you hit?

Ben: No, we're fine. Get down! Get down! Get down! Stay back!

[Gunshots continue]

Claire: Oh, hi. Hi. Are you texting ciara? 'Cause I need to talk to her right now. It's life-or-death.

Tripp: Why? What's going on?

Claire: I need to borrow her red sweater.

Tripp: It's a fashion emergency?

Claire: No, no, this is very serious, tripp. I have a livestream that I'm about to do and I can't wear something that my followers have seen already, and ciara's not answering any of my texts right now, so...

Tripp: No, I'm not texting ciara, okay? I'm trying to find out how it went with haley's hearing. She had her hearing today about her immigration case.

Claire: Oh. Okay, well, your uncle's her lawyer, right? So he's the best. I'm sure it was fine.

Tripp: Well, even the best lawyers lose sometimes.

Claire: That's true. I know. You always have to stay on top of your game. Which is why I need to find something to wear for my livestream right now. [Laughs]

Tripp: Wow, way to change the subject, claire.

Claire: What do you mean?

Tripp: Just that you seem pretty reluctant to talk about haley.

Claire: Well, it's just that it's none of my business, right?

Tripp: Right, right, except I'd still like to find out who it was that ratted her out.

Eve: Jack, your position on immigration is really polling well. We have to keep that front and center. Check it out.

Jack: I am getting so much positive feedback from potential voters, here.

Eve: Well, of course you are. Your constituents can see a threat to the community. All right? And they're finally happy that somebody is taking a stance.

Jack: Mm-hmm.

Eva: Oh, great.

Jack: What? What's wrong?

Eve: You'll see, you'll see. Just...

Jennifer: [Gasps] There you are. Jack. Eve. I'm so glad I ran into you.

Eve: Well, I wish that we could say the same, but you can see that we are actually in a campaign meeting, so if you'll excuse us, jennifer... here you go, jack.

Jennifer: Well, I would be happy to, but as a member of the free and fair press, I have a question. And I'm sure you don't want to deny the voters a chance to hear your candidate's position.

Eve: Of course not.

Jennifer: Mr. Deveraux, how does it feel to destroy the life of a young, innocent woman for political gain?

Eve: [Sighs]

[Mischievous music]

Jj: So how did it go? What did the judge decide?

[Tense music]

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the "days of our lives."

[Soft orchestration]

Haley: [Exhales] The judge postponed making a decision.

Jj: So that's good, right?

Haley: I don't know. I mean, I stated to the court that I'm undocumented, and then justin made the case that i should be eligible for a change in status.

Justin: I pointed out that haley's a nurse who's been serving her community. She has no criminal record. Anyone can see that her presence in this town is only a positive.

Haley: Thank you so much for saying, really, but I... you really think it matters whether or not my presence helps salem? 'Cause I don'T.

Jj: You can't think that way.

Haley: Jj, have you been paying attention to the political climate? No judge is gonna rule in my favor.

Justin: Haley, I understand you're trying to be realistic, but I am actually feeling optimistic. I mean, for one thing, you were released on your own recognizance, and I also think the judge seemed sympathetic. I mean, in my opinion, the fact that he didn't make a ruling right away is only cause for hope.

Claire: Huh. Okay, so what are you implying? You don't think that I...

[Laughs nervously] Oh, my god! Tripp, why on earth would i tip off jack deveraux about haley chen?

Tripp: Someone had to tell him that haley was hiding out here at the loft.

Claire: Yeah, yeah, and whoever it was, I know as much about it as you do.

Tripp: Mm.

Claire: Oh, god. You know, I need to go to the library before my livestream. I still have a comp lit midterm that I need to study for.

[Sighs]

Kayla: Oh!

Tripp: Uh, kayla. Hi.

Kayla: Good timing.

Tripp: What can I do for you?

Kayla: I just wanted to come by and see how you're doing.

Tripp: Oh, hanging in there. Thanks, yeah. Come on in.

Kayla: Thanks.

Tripp: I'm actually... glad you stopped by. Um, any word from my dad?

Kayla: Yeah, as a matter of fact, I spoke with him on the phone just the other day.

Tripp: How's he doing?

Kayla: Okay, I think. He said he misses all of us. Wanted to make sure that I let you know that. And, um, unfortunately, it looks like the cleanup with the isa is gonna take longer than he was hoping, and... I don't think he's gonna be back home for a while.

Tripp: Right.

Kayla: Are you okay? You seem distracted.

Tripp: Ah, yeah. Sorry. I--I did hear you about dad. I just... it's too bad he's not coming home soon. [Exhales]

Kayla: There's something else. I can tell.

Tripp: Yeah, there is. I'm worried that claire is lying to me.

Jennifer: Mr. Deveraux, how do you justify using haley chen as a political football?

Eve: You know, jennifer, we really appreciate your question, but the candidate, at this time, has no comment.

Jack: Actually, eve, I asked jennifer to meet me here. I invited her to interview me.

Eve: Um, could I have a word with you, um, in private, please?

Jack: Mm.

Jennifer: Sure.

Eve: Why in the world would you grant jennifer an interview? You know she supports abe 100%.

Jack: Eve, relax. Relax. I can handle jennifer.

Eve: Okay.

Jack: Trust me, yeah?

Eve: Okay. I do. I do.

Jack: Okay.

Eve: Don't touch my stuff. Jennifer, stop it. I can get it myself.

Jennifer: Ooh.

Jack: Please.

Jennifer: Thank you. I wasn't even sure this interview was going to happen because your campaign manager seemed very, very upset.

Jack: Eve was simply trying to protect me, and I assured her that wouldn't be necessary. Just this thing: I want to make sure that, uh, this interview is fair and unbiased and I'm not just setting myself up for a hatchet job so you can do anything you can to destroy any chance I have of being mayor.

[Tense music]

Ciara: Ben, no! You can't go. It's not safe.

Ben: We can't just stay pinned down here.

Chloe: Where are the other guards?

Stefan: They should've been here by now.

Ben: Unless the gunmen took them out first, okay? You three, stay back here. You watch for them.

Stefan: Okay.

[Gunshots]

Ciara: No! Ben! Ben!

Stefan: Stay down!

Ciara: No, no, no!

[Gunshots continue] (Announcer) do you push through migraine?

Chloe: [Screams]

Ciara: Is there anyone else here?

Stefan: There's nobody here.

Chloe: Holly and parker are with maggie, thank god!

Stefan: Shh, shh. Shh. Don't say anything. Shh.

[Door clicks open] Oh, get--

Ciara: Oh, my god.

Stefan: How many? How many? How many?

Ben: From what I could tell, it was a single shooter. Security's out there searching the grounds right now. [Panting]

Stefan: Did you get a look at him?

Ben: He managed to escape. No, I didn'T. But he left that.

Stefan: What is this? A sun? What is this?

Chloe: Oh, my god, that-- that is the symbol of el fideo's cartel. That man came here to kill me.

Stefan: It's okay.

Justin: I'll be honest, um... there are certainly some challenges, uh, presented by the current political climate, and of course, the fact that there's been violence linked to a mexican drug cartel right here in salem doesn't help our cause.

Jj: Come on, the judge has to know that it has nothing to do with haley.

Justin: One would hope. But I have heard good things about this judge--that he's fair, that he is not easily swayed by whatever rhetoric is in the wind. So I believe that he will base his ruling on the facts, which are more than in our favor.

Haley: Thank you so much for saying that. Thank you-- thank you for everything.

Justin: Of course.

Jj: Yeah, uncle justin, I... I can't thank you enough for stepping in.

Justin: I'm glad I could help. So I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from the court. Stay strong.

[Soft music]

Haley: I should go too. These might be my last few hours in salem, and I want to enjoy them.

Jj: Haley, wait. I know I'm not your favorite person right now, but... I really need to talk to you.

Tripp: I hate thinking that it was claire who turned haley in, but I don't know who else it could have been.

Kayla: Well, did claire ever say anything negative about haley?

Tripp: No, that's just it. She was all in favor of haley staying here at the loft.

Kayla: Well, what, do you think it was just an act?

Tripp: Claire's not the most secure person in the world, you know? I guess when you're always focused on getting a certain number of clicks, it kind of comes with the territory, and so when I told haley that she could stay here, it might be possible that claire felt threatened.

Kayla: Look, I know that you don't want to think badly of claire.

Tripp: Exactly. She's my girlfriend and I should trust her and I want to trust her, but...

Kayla: But you and I both know that claire is the kind of person who can sometimes bend the truth to further her own agenda.

Jennifer: My job is to inform the electorate. And I realized that I don't even know what you stand for, which means the public doesn't know what you stand for. So that is why I asked you for this interview--so you could give me a clear picture of your platform, and if it resonates with the voters, so be it. And for the record, I don't do hatchet jobs because I don't need to lie and betray people to get what I want.

Jack: Let's proceed, then.

Jennifer: Mr. Deveraux.

Jack: Ms. Horton.

Jennifer: Why do you believe that you would make a good mayor of salem?

Jack: Simple. I'm a clean slate. The people of this town are well aware of my memory issues, which I only see as a positive. Coming back to this town has given me an offer of a fresh start. I want to extend that offer to the people of salem.

Jennifer: "A fresh start"?

Jack: A fresh start, yes. What, do you have a problem with that answer?

Jennifer: Yes, I do. I have a real problem with that.

Jack: Please enlighten me.

Jennifer: Isn't saying that you're a "clean slate" just a way of not taking responsibility for anything that you have ever done?

Jack: I've never denied my past. I'm well aware I've made mistakes, even if I can't remember them.

Jennifer: And if others can?

Jack: You know, I'm beginning to think that maybe someone else should be writing this article-- someone who's not so personally involved.

Jennifer: Trust me. I'm a professional. I just want to know why you think the voters would choose you, jack--a man who has no recollection of his record--over abe carver, who has succeeded in countless ways to make salem a better place for its citizens.

Haley: You know, you didn't need to take me here. You could have just said what you needed at the police station.

Jj: Well, I thought this might give us a little more privacy. And haley, all I wanted to say, again... is that I am so sorry. You wouldn't be in this mess if I hadn't opened my big mouth and confided your secret to my father.

Haley: Yeah. Yeah, that's true. If you hadn't told your father, everything would be different. But you know what, jj? I'm the one who made all the mistakes that got me into this situation in the first place. So how can I put all the blame on you? And I see you. I know that you've been trying really hard to make it up to me. You even got your uncle to represent me. If I have any chance at staying, it's because of everything you've done.

Kayla: Listen, I get that you think that claire betrayed your trust by turning haley in. But I don't want what you did to get lost in all this.

Tripp: What I did? What are you talking about?

Kayla: What you did to try to help haley. Hiding her from the authorities until you could figure out how to keep her in this country. And--and at great risk to you, actually. You didn't even think of the consequences and how it could jeopardize your own freedom. You just jumped right in. It was impulsive and it was reckless... and it was exactly what your father would've done.

Tripp: You think?

Kayla: I know. And when he finds out about this, he's gonna be so proud of you. But listen: Getting back to claire. I... I think the best advice I can give you is to be direct. If you're honest with her, then maybe she'll be honest with you.

Tripp: I agree, but ciara has already accused claire, and she denied it and... if I just repeat the same thing, then it'll just...

Kayla: Be like you're ambushing her.

Tripp: Uh-huh, and I don't want her to feel like we're ganging up on her, especially when I don't know for sure that claire was even the one who did this. But--but if she did... haley might get deported because of me.

Kayla: No, it wouldn't be because of you. Haley was at risk no matter where she was. Her face was plastered all over the news.

Tripp: Yeah, yeah, just because of my uncle jack.

Kayla: Yeah.

Tripp: You know, he had the nerve to show up here at my door and pretended like he actually wanted to get to know me when all he wanted was to get haley busted so he could use the footage for his next campaign commercial. I mean, can you believe that?

Kayla: Actually, I can.

Tripp: No, you know, I--i need to find out if claire was the one who did this. And I just realized how I can do that.

Claire: [Breathing rapidly] Oh, my god! Eve! Eve, hi. Please, I need your help-- right now. Fact is, every insurance company hopes you drive safely.

Ben: Stefan's finishing up with the cops right now.

Chloe: I talked to maggie. The kids are fine, thank god. Thank you for doing everything you did to keep us safe.

Ben: Yeah, that's my job. Hey. How are you doing?

Ciara: Not so good. Oh, my god, if you hadn't been there to pull me down...

Ben: Hey, don't think about that right now.

Chloe: I'm guessing the cartel must have thought you were me. My hair was that long when they kidnapped me.

Ciara: It wasn't your fault, chloe.

Ben: Yeah, don't worry about that, okay? Either of you. Stefan's beefing up security around here. With the cops on the scene, nobody is coming back here tonight. Okay? Hey. We're safe here.

Ciara: Can you just take me home?

Ben: Of course.

Haley: I considered myself a really strong person, just so proud of the life that I made here for myself. A good life.

Jj: Yeah. You should be proud.

Haley: Yeah, but now... I've never felt this alone. My own sister--melinda's not even returning my calls, as if-- as if I should be surprised. You know? We were never that close anyway. In fact, I've always been really scared of that-- getting close to anybody. I guess I was just really worried that if they did, they'd find out my secret.

Jj: That must have been a hard way to live.

Haley: Yeah. But just--in some ways, it actually made me stronger... helped me survive.

[Chuckles] Now that I think of it, I mean, does it even matter if I have to go? 'Cause I don't-- I don't have anybody else here either.

Jj: You have me.

Claire: Hi.

Eve: Just take a deep breath, and I want you to tell me what's going on, all right?

Claire: [Inhales, exhales] I think tripp is starting to suspect that I'm the one who outed haley.

Eve: Well, why would he think that? I mean, you're not the only one that lives in the loft. It could just as easily have been ciara.

Claire: Well, I know. I thought of that already, so I accused her, but the problem with that is ciara just accused me right back, so eve, I...I need you to cover for me, okay?

Eve: [Sighs] Claire, I--

Claire: Please, please, please! Just--if--if tripp finds out what I did, he will not only break up with me, but he will hate me for the rest of his life. Just try to understand where I'm coming from. Please help me out here.

[Knocking on door]

Tripp: Eve? It's tripp.

Claire: Oh my god! What is he doing here?

Eve: [Stammering] I want you to get--come on.

Claire: Okay, okay.

Eve: Get in here, keep quiet, and I'll handle your boyfriend, all right? There.

[Knocking on door] Ah. What do you want?

Tripp: I want to know who it was that told you and my uncle jack that I was hiding haley chen.

Jack: While mr. Carver may have done good things for people in the past, his recent track record leaves nothing to be proud of. Because of the incompetence in his office, an attempted murderer was just allowed to go back to the streets.

Jennifer: Okay, you're talking about xander cook?

Jack: Do you know another attempted murderer who just waltzed into city hall and deleted records of his own crime?

Jennifer: You're just gonna go to the negative? That's how you're gonna--

Jack: I'm simply pointing out that my opponent also has flaws.

Jennifer: Right, without talking about your strengths, which means you are criticizing the incumbent to cover the fact that you don't have any fresh ideas of your own.

Jack: The media is allowed to its own opinion--not that I asked for it, by the way. I was under the impression that this interview would be fair and unbiased. Now, is it going to be that? Are you gonna print what I say or are you just gonna keep printing your own fake news?

Jennifer: Fake news?

Jack: Fake news.

Jennifer: That's what spews out of your mouth every time you open it, is fake news.

Jack: "Spews"? Is that what the opinion of "the spectator" is?

Jennifer: No, that's the opinion of jennifer horton, and you can quote me on that.

Jack: I am surprised that you would even allow me to be part of your byline. But then again, I am surprised that we were ever married in the first place. I don't know. I can't remember, but who knows? Maybe--just maybe--I threw myself down that elevator shaft just to get away from you.

[Quirky music]

I knew about the tremors.

Stefan: The police are still busy downstairs, so I thought you might feel more secure here in your room.

Chloe: That man came here to kill me, stefan. What if the kids had been here?

Stefan: They weren'T.

Chloe: Well, what if they had been? I can't live like this, doing nothing, sitting here while someone out there wants me dead.

Ben: Here.

Ciara: Thanks.

Ben: You're welcome. Don't spill. It's ginger ale.

Ciara: Yeah.

Ben: It always helped me feel better when I was a kid.

Ciara: You know, I'm pretty sure that's for the stomach flu.

Ben: You kind of look like you might wanna hurl.

Ciara: I'm fine.

Ben: You don't have to do that.

Ciara: Do what?

Ben: You don't have to pretend that everything's okay. Ciara, you just went through a very traumatic experience today and... what you're feeling right now, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Ciara: I just still can't believe it happened. One minute, we're in stefan's living room, and the next, we're getting shot at?

Ben: It's because of me.

Ciara: What? Ben, no. No. Chloe said it herself. You heard her. They were after her.

Ben: I meant you were there because of me. The only reason why you were even inside of that house was because you wanted to see me, which just confirms my feelings that if we weren't together, you'd be a hell of a lot safer.

[Stirring music]

Haley: I should probably go back to the loft. Thanks so much for your support.

Jj: Of course. You don't have to thank me.

Haley: Jj? Are you okay?

Jj: Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Really, haley, it's okay. You've got enough on your mind.

Haley: No, no, no, you've done everything that you can to help me deal with my problems. And you know what? The thing that would really help me right now is if you let me be the same kind of friend for you.

[Tense music]

I know you're still furious at your dad. You want to talk about it?

Jj: Um... I know he doesn't remember who he is... but that's not an excuse, you know? I'll never forgive him for what he did to you.

Haley: What are you gonna do?

Jj: Whatever it takes to stop him from becoming mayor.

Jack: Well... it seems that journalistic standards have diminished somewhat in the time I've been away. I thought that you said you were a professional.

Jennifer: I am a professional, which is why I am going to kill this story. And just a little advice for you, off the record: The less you open your mouth, the better chance you have at fooling people into voting for you. And that's the truth!

Kayla: Jennifer, is everything all right?

Jack: Oh, kayla, I'm glad you're here. Your good friend jennifer just gave me an unsolicited cold shower. Maybe you can help her cool down now.

Kayla: Oh, I doubt that, 'cause I assume she's as mad as I am at you for being a pompous ass and only caring about yourself.

Eve: Look, tripp, I can't be specific, here. The person that alerted jack and me to haley's location said that they would only tell us if they remained anonymous. But I can tell you this: It was a concerned citizen.

Tripp: Who?

Eve: Tripp, I just told you, I can't tell you--

Tripp: Yeah, and last time I checked, there's no such thing as campaign manager/concerned citizen confidentiality, so why don't you just tell me who it was?

Eve: Okay, well, I can tell you this much: It was a neighbor of yours. Okay?

Tripp: A neighbor.

Eve: Mm-hmm.

Tripp: You mean mrs. Carney?

Eve: [Sighs] Okay, apparently, she saw haley entering the building, and that's when she tipped us off.

Tripp: That's who claire thought it was.

Eve: Oh.

Tripp: Well, thank you for your honesty.

[Objects clank] What was that? Is there-- is there somebody else here?

Limu emu & doug

Eve: That, um--that's jack. He was taking a shower before, and he must have dropped something. I'll make sure he's okay. Jack, is everything all right in there? Oh, yeah, everything's fine. He dropped the saving cream. And he said he would come out and see you, but he's absolutely butt-naked and dripping wet.

Tripp: That's--that's okay. I want nothing to do with him-- not after what the two of you did to haley.

Eve: [Hissing] Claire! Come out.

Claire: Oh, my god. Eve, thank you so much. You are-- you are an actual lifesaver.

Eve: [Exhales]

Jennifer: Unbelievable. You pretend to take an interest in tripp--your nephew--so you could get into the loft to find haley?

Jack: Nephew or no, he was harboring a fugitive. As a citizen and a candidate, I had the obligation--

Jennifer: Oh, no, please. Save it! Save it for your rallies, jack, because if what you plan to do for salem is the same thing that you have done to your son and your nephew, I pray that abe wins.

[Tense music]

Jack: [Exhales heavily]

Jj: Any man who is hurting someone the way that my dad is hurting you isn't fit to be mayor. And besides, it's not like there isn't another worthy candidate. I know abe carver. Unlike my dad, he's a good man. I'm gonna do everything I can to help him win.

Justin: Jj. Haley.

Jj: Hey, justin. You got my text. Is there any news?

Justin: Um, yes, I, uh-- the judge has made a decision, and I'm sorry. I have some bad news. So sorry. Um, they plan to start deportation procedures immediately.

Haley: What?

Jj: Justin, you said this judge was fair-- that he wouldn't be swayed by the political climate.

Justin: And I had hoped that he wouldn't be. I mean, considering haley's exemplary record, I--I-- I thought he'd be more lenient, but he's sticking to the letter of the law. Haley, I'm afraid you have thirty days before you have to, uh, leave the country.

Stefan: Chloe, you don't have to live in fear, okay? Because what happened here tonight... will never happen again. I'm adding several more security units working around the clock. I'm putting pressure on my people to find out who is responsible. I'll do whatever it takes to end this, okay?

Chloe: [Chuckles] That would be a miracle.

Stefan: I promised you and your children that they would be safe here. And I have every intention of keeping that promise.

Ciara: Ben, you think I'd be safer without you? The only reason that I'm here is because of you. It's because of you. Because of... because of your bravery that no one got hurt.

Ben: I was just doing my job.

Ciara: Running into the middle of a gunfight seems pretty brave to me.

[Sighs] All right, you listen to me. You listen to me, ben weston, because I'm only going to say this once. We just got back together, okay? It's gonna take a hell of a lot more than a hail of bullets to scare me away this time.

Ben: O--okay. Okay, yeah. Look, you are-- you're a lot tougher than you look. I...

Ciara: Ben...

Ben: No, I told you, I got the message loud and clear.

Ciara: You're bleeding.

Ben: It's fine. It's r-- honestly, it's nothing. It's probably just a cut from the glass. It shattered the window.

Ciara: Shh. Just be still, okay?

[Chuckles softly] Finally... I, uh--I get to reciprocate at least a little bit for the way you took care of me in the cabin.

Ben: You're way more gentle than I was.

Ciara: [Chuckles] I didn't feel a thing.

[Gentle music]

I landed.

[Gentle music]

Ciara: Ah--um, what are you doing, ben?

Ben: Something that is... against my better judgment.

Ciara: Yeah.

Ben: Oh, my god, you know I'd love to stay.

[Sighs] I should really get back to the mansion. Just to make sure that stefan has everything under control. As long as you're okay.

Ciara: [Exhales] Trust me... I am more than okay. Was that okay to you?

Ben: Yeah, it'S... it's pretty okay.

Ciara: [Laughs]

Stefan: I should go and let you get some rest.

Chloe: Stefan?

Stefan: Yeah?

Chloe: Do you think that you could stay here with me? Just for a little while.

Stefan: Of course. I'll stay as long as you need.

Chloe: No, could you... could you maybe hold me?

Stefan: Yeah.

Kayla: I know it's probably not much comfort, but you really can't take what jack says personally. He doesn't remember who he is. He is not in his right mind.

Jennifer: I don't know, kayla. When eve first showed up with jack, I really believed that she was gonna lead him down a dark path, but you know what? I don't think that he need to be led anywhere. I think that he is making the choice to ignore the difference between right and wrong.

Kayla: Well, he may have convinced himself of that.

Jennifer: Kayla, whether he has his memories back or not, that is the man that I married. And I believed that he beat his demons and that he really changed, but I'm starting to wonder if it was all an act because that man doesn't seem to have a conscience at all. And I don't know. I really don't know if i or anybody else can save jack from himself.

Tripp: How did--how did you get here so fast?

Jack: Hmm?

Tripp: W--you know, I don't care. I just want you out of my section.

Jack: Tripp, I'm sorry --

Tripp: No, no, I don't want to hear it, okay? Haley might get deported because of you. Do you get that? You might have just destroyed someone's life, and you're-- what, you're out ordering coffee? I don't understand how you can live with yourself.

Eve: You want some advice? I think you should own what you did to haley. You thought she was a threat, right?

Claire: Yeah, because she was.

Eve: Okay, well, then you did everything you could to get rid of her. I, for one-- I'm gonna sleep well tonight.

[Cell phone beeps]

Claire: Did you get a text?

Eve: Well, let's just find out.

[Laughs] Even better. News from the court. In thirty days, haley chen will be back in china where she belongs and all this will be over.

Haley: I was so--I was so afraid that this was gonna happen, and now that it has... my life here is over. I... I'm going back to china. Alone.

Jj: You don't have to do that.

Haley: What are you talking about, jj? Of course I do. The judge just ordered that I be deported.

Jj: No, there is a way you can stay in this country. Marry me. In my old age.
