Kate: Ugh, stop babying me. I'm fine.

Rex: If you were fine, mom, you wouldn't be in the hospital.

Kate: [Sighs] Okay, honey, look, they have given me every test they could possibly give me. They really have. You have to leave, okay? Go home. Go back to sarah. I don't want her blaming me for ruining her night.

Rex: No, she's not gonna do that. I already called her, and she's totally cool.

Kate: What about the special meal you made for her?

Rex: I just said go ahead and eat it without me.

Kate: You told her to eat alone?

Rex: No, I'm not that clueless. I said share it with eric.

Kate: [Laughs] You told her to spend valentine's day with your brother? Oh, no, you're not clueless. No, mm-mm. Mm-mm.

Eric: Someone tried to kill kate?

Sarah: She's gonna make it, but rex needs to stay there while they run more tests.

Eric: Okay. Well, I'm sure he wants you there too.

Sarah: Yeah, I mean, I offered, but he insisted that I stay. He feels guilty for stranding me on valentine's day, and he doesn't want dinner to go to waste.

Eric: Okay.

Sarah: He suggested that I share it with you.

Abigail: Look, uh, I know that things between us have been pretty, um...

Chad: Rotten? Crappy? Miserable? All the above, thanks to me.

Abigail: Well, uh, what I was going to say is that in spite of that, you've been my rock, and I never could've gotten through any of this without you.

Chad: You would've, 'cause you're tough.

Abigail: Thank you.

Chad: You don't have to thank me. Charlotte and thomas are my kids, and you're their mother. And I'll always do everything I possibly can for the three of you, no matter what happens between us.

Abigail: You said that you would put my daughter back in my arms, and you did exactly that.

Chad: Well... I'm the idiot that pulled her out of your arms when she was born. Biggest mistake of my life.

Abigail: You know, this whole, um, traumatic experience has really given me some perspective.

Chad: What are you saying?

Abigail: It's made me miss the way that we do this, you know, this--handle things. We face the world together, as a united front.

Chad: We were quite a team.

Abigail: Yeah, we were. And I know that you had your reasons for acting the way that you did. I had two breakdowns, and I put you through hell, and--

Chad: Don't make--don't-- don't make this your fault.

Abigail: It's not about whose fault it is. But this whole thing happened because of me. I mean, we--we thought that charlotte might have been stefan's, and that-- I did that to myself and to you and to us.

Chad: No, you weren't responsible for your actions.

Abigail: I know, but I am now. And we have spent so much time being angry at each other and so much time apart--

Chad: Yeah, I'm tired of it.

Abigail: Me too. You know, when you put charlotte back in my arms, all of that anger, it just fell away. I want us to be together again. I want us to be a family.

Chad: I was starting to think that we would never find our way back to one another.

Abigail: Chad... I was angry. But I never stopped loving you.

Chad: I know.

Abigail: Not for a second.

[Door slams] Mom!

Jennifer: What? What's wrong?

Chad: Nothing. Everything's--everything's perfect.

Abigail: Mom, look.

Jennifer: [Gasps] She's back! She's safe! Oh, baby.

Abigail: Yeah, she's back, thanks to chad.

[Charlotte fussing]

Hope: Don't ever do that again.

Rafe: Hope! Hope.

Hope: Rafe.

Rafe: Hey.

Hope: Hi. Hi.

Rafe: [Laughs]

Hope: Hi.

Rafe: So good to see you.

Hope: You too.

Rafe: Oh.

Hope: I missed you.

Rafe: I missed you.

[Laughs] Oh, oh. Are you all right, though?

Hope: Huh?

Rafe: You all right? 'Cause when I first saw you, you looked a little upset. Is it ciara?

[Monitor beeping]

Ben: [Groans]

Ciara: Oh, my god.

Ben: [Groans]

Jordan: [Grunts]

Ben: [Grunts]

Ciara: Jordan, what did you just do?

Jordan: I tried to warn you that he was dangerous. Thank god I was here to save you.

Ciara: I didn't need saving!

Jordan: Stop it, okay? I saw him attacking you.

Ciara: He wasn't attacking me, jordan. We were--

Jordan: Stop protecting him, ciara! It is time that I take care of my brother once and for all.

[Tense music]

[Soft orchestration]

Hope: Jordan--it was jordan who kidnapped ciara. She took ciara to the cabin and she set it on fire.

Rafe: She's gonna be all right?

Hope: Yes, she is. She inhaled a lot of smoke, but kay said that she, um-- there shouldn't be any lasting effects.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, thank god.

Hope: Rafe, why don't you seem shocked by the news?

Rafe: 'Cause it's not the first time I've heard it. I spoke with eli, and he filled me in on most of everything.

Hope: Then what took you so long to get here?

Jennifer: Do you know how good it is to see you, you sweet thing?

Abigail: She's happy to see you too, mom.

Jennifer: Thank you so much for bringing my granddaughter back to us.

Chad: It's where she belongs, with her family.

Jennifer: Where's jordan? Please tell me she was arrested.

Chad: I don't know. But they better find her soon. She's lost her mind, and she already tried to kill ciara.

Ciara: Stop. Please don't hurt him.

Jordan: I have no choice. I have to make sure he can't hurt anyone else.

Ciara: Jordan, look at me. Look at me! That's your brother.

Jordan: Which is why I am the only one who sees him clearly.

Ciara: But you said you didn't want to kill him. You said you just wanted him locked up for his own good.

Jordan: I did. But now I see he's just gonna escape again. And when chad lied to me and made me think that he was dead, I was devastated. But I will admit that even I was a little relieved. I see that he's just beyond help. I have to make sure that he won't hurt anyone else ever again. One day, you will thank me for this.

Ciara: No. No! No!

Kate: [Exhales heavily]

Rex: Here. Drink this, please.

Kate: [Groans]

Rex: Sarah and eric are friends. She's gonna have a nice evening with him, and then when i get back there, I will make it right.

Kate: Mm-hmm. So does this mean that she has forgiven you for what you did?

Rex: She's working on it.

Kate: Um... so is this it? I mean, there's no more secrets to drop, right?

Rex: You mean have I cheated any other time?

Kate: Did you?

Rex: No. No, I swear. [Laughs]

Kate: Well, I hope so. I do. That's good. I'm glad. But I still think it should be you there having dinner with her right now.

Rex: Mom, I told you, it's gonna be fine, okay? Eric is kind of boring anyway. I'm just happy that she's not alone on valentine's day. She's gonna make the best of it.

Eric: Well, then we should just pack this all up so when rex gets home, you and him can share it together.

Sarah: Yeah. We could do that.

Eric: Well, he should enjoy the fruits of his labor.

[Both laugh]

Sarah: Yes, definitely. Um, do you have plastic containers or the zipper bags?

Eric: You know what? Actually, I ran out, you know? Um, but I can go and get some.

Sarah: Oh, no, no, no. Don't do that. That's--that's silly. Besides, we don't know when rex is gonna be home, and-- and I'm hungry.

[Both chuckle] Let's just eat.

Eric: You and me? Like, now?

Sarah: [Laughs]

Eric: Yeah, I mean, it does look pretty good.

Sarah: Oh? As good as jennifer's doughnuts on last valentine's day?

Eric: You liked that, didn't you?

Sarah: What's not to like about that story? It's two grown-ass men fighting over a doughnut.

Eric: Well, it wasn't my finest hour.

Sarah: No, come on, I think it just shows that you are a man of passion.

Eric: Let's go with that.

Sarah: [Laughs] Well, I don't know if I can compete with that doughnut, but I will try to be good company.

Eric: I think you'll do just fine. Can I pour you a glass of champagne?

Sarah: You sure you don't mind?

Eric: Oh, please. I want you to have A...

[Cork pops] Good valentine's day.

Sarah: I already am.

[Soft music]

Jennifer: Oh, I am just so glad you're all safe.

Abigail: Well, I'm not gonna feel completely safe until they find jordan.

Chad: I should--I should give eli a call and see if they have any news.

Abigail: Oh.

Go ahead, mom. Ask what you want to ask.

Jennifer: I was just going to say that chad brought back your baby girl and you just seem closer than ever. And I was just wondering what this all means.

Abigail: Oh, hmm.

Rafe: Trust me, I wanted to come find you the second that I got home. Turns out, ciara is not the only person that jordan tried to kill.

Hope: What are you talking about?

Rafe: Well, kate found out what jordan was up to, and jordan injected her with a drug, tried to make it look like it was a suicide. And I found kate just in the nick of time, and it looks like she's gonna be okay.

Hope: Oh, my god. I'm glad to hear that.

Rafe: Didn't you get my message?

Ted: Well, hope has been, uh, a little busy trying to save her daughter's life.

Rafe: How would you know that?

Ted: Maybe because I spent the whole time with her.

[Dramatic music]

Jordan: [Grunts] Get off of me!

Ciara: No, I won't let you hurt him!

Jordan: Let go!

Ciara: No! Ben saved my life at the cabin. He's not the threat. You are!

Jordan: Everyone is blinded by him--everyone but me!

[Both grunting] Our craftsmen begin each day...

Sarah: You know, I used to be a total valentine's day grinch.

Eric: Oh, yeah?

Sarah: Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'd tell all of my friends that it was just a scam for the stores to sell cards and candies to guilty guys.

Eric: But now?

Sarah: Well... when I met rex, suddenly the sappy stuff just kind of made sense.

[Both chuckle]

Eric: Yeah, well, I told you I spent last valentine's day fighting dr. Shah for jennifer's doughnut.

Sarah: [Laughs]

Eric: I'm sure you and rex had more traditional celebrations.

Sarah: Well, actually, um, we didn't spend last valentine's day together either.

Eric: Why not?

Sarah: Um... we were in chicago.

Eric: Mm-hmm.

Sarah: And the weather was really, really bad. And he had just gotten off of a shift, and he was walking out to the parking lot, and one of the nurses that we worked with was having car troubles, and so he tried to help her, but he couldn't get the car started, so he drove her home in the storm.

Eric: He didn't make it home?

Sarah: No, he... he said that the roads were really dangerous after he dropped her off, and so he ended up spending the night at a motel.

Eric: Mm. That's too bad. I mean, it must've been really disappointing for you. Sarah? Hey, what are you thinking about?

Sarah: Hmm. The nurse that he helped... her name was marcy. And she was--she was really... really pretty and really sweet. I used to joke with rex all the time that I thought that she was his type. What if he didn't get stranded at all? What if he just spent the night with her? What if he was just cheating on me again?

Rex: So chad convinced jordan to hand charlotte over to him?

Kate: Yes, by convincing her that ben was dead.

Rex: She was told that her brother was dead?

Kate: Uh-huh. Why?

Rex: Miss? I'm--I'm a doctor. Are--are you okay?

Jordan: My baby brother... he's all the family that I had. He... he died today.

Rex: Oh, my god. Mom, there was a--a woman that I ran into outside the brady pub, and she was upset over losing her brother. I tried to comfort her. That must've been jordan.

Kate: Oh, my god. Did she know who you were?

Rex: She was right there when kayla called me to tell me about you being in the hospital. Mom, jordan was the one who tried to kill you.

Kate: [Groans] Okay, we have to call the police right away, right away.

Rafe: And why would she need an ambulance chaser like you to help her?

Ted: Oh, rafe, I don't know. Maybe because her husband abandoned her and left the country.

Rafe: Mm. Or maybe it was because you saw that she was vulnerable and you tried to take advantage of the situation and insinuate yourself into her life, which is exactly what you do. I mean, I clearly see it.

Ted: You are so wrong.

Rafe: You see it, don't you?

Hope: Okay, enough. Stop.

Rafe: You see this is how he operates?

Hope: What are you doing?

Rafe: Okay, you know what? I'm gonna give you one piece of advice. Stay away from my wife.

Ted: Wow. Says the man who went running off to europe to be with his ex.

Abigail: I can't get over how beautiful she is.

Jennifer: She looks like her mom.

Abigail: I was so scared I was never gonna see her again.

Jennifer: I have a feeling that chad was as scared as you were.

Abigail: This whole thing just brought back such bad memories for me.

Jennifer: You mean when chad took charlotte from you and--and brought her to stefan.

Abigail: I just was never sure if I was ever gonna get over what happened with chad.

Jennifer: I know. You said you didn't think you ever could.

Abigail: I wasn't sure if I ever could, but when charlotte went missing, he promised me that he would find her and--and put her back in my arms.

Jennifer: And he did that. He kept his promise.

Abigail: He did, right here in this room. He--he took my baby girl away from jordan and he put her back in my arms, exactly like he said he would.

Jennifer: I can't even imagine what that must've felt like.

Abigail: Oh, god, it was-- it was the happiest moment of my life. Is there any news on jordan?

Chad: She's still on the run.

Jordan: Let go!

Ciara: [Groaning]

Jordan: I can see you're not gonna give up, so I'm gonna have to finish what I started at the cabin.

Ciara: [Whimpering]

Ben: Leave her alone! Leave her alone!

Ben: Why are you doing this? Why?

Rafe: Yeah, she does, actually.

Hope: Stop. We're in a hospital. Please, stop it.

Rafe: You're right. You're right. You're absolutely right. We should be focusing on ciara.

Hope: Exactly, and finding jordan.

Rafe: And I would like to see ciara. What room is she in?

Hope: Room 401.

Rafe: 401.

Hope: You go ahead.

Hope: Well, yes, I'm gonna be there in just a second, okay?

Rafe: Okay.

Ted: I... I hate the way he takes you for granted. He does not appreciate you.

Hope: That's not true. Don't say that. But he was right about one thing. You did try to take advantage of the situation just now.

Ted: What? How?

Hope: Kissing me. Thank god rafe didn't see that.

Ted: I wish he had.

Eric: Come on, sarah. Don't go there.

Sarah: Why wouldn't i go there? It's not like he hasn't done it before--twice. And you know what? The whole snowstorm situation is awfully convenient-- like, the car problems and the impassable roads and marcy, always so sweet to me.

[Mockingly] "Oh, dr. Horton, I love being--working with you and being on your shift," mm.

Eric: [Laughs] Why would she be so sweet to you if she was sleeping with your boyfriend?

Sarah: That's what you do if you don't want the girlfriend to be suspicious. I cannot believe that I didn't see this. I can't believe I didn't see it until now.

Eric: Sarah, I think you might be going from 0 to 60. And I've seen you do that before.

Sarah: Yeah, and I've also been right before, so...

Eric: I'm just saying, I think you should give rex the benefit of the doubt. I mean, valentine's day? I mean, I don't think anyone would cheat on you on that day.

Sarah: That's exactly when you do it, because no one would suspect you.

Eric: Sarah. Sarah, what are you doing?

Sarah: I'm gonna get to the bottom of this.

Chad: [Clears throat] I'll, uh, just grab a blanket out of the closet and--

Chad: I know how... upset you were that I handed charlotte to stefan. Uh... and I just want-- you know, I know that it wasn't easy to let me back in. If you need more time...

Abigail: Uh... look, the whole thing was really complicated. And I know that you ultimately did what you did because you were trying to get me help.

Chad: I just want you to be safe and healthy. But I should've trusted you.

Abigail: Do you trust me now?

Chad: I'll never doubt you again. All I want is to make you happy.

Eric: Sarah, he's at the hospital with his mother, who was drugged. To accuse him of cheating on you last year on valentine's day? I...

Sarah: Fine. When you put it like that, it does seem kind of...

Sarah: Pointless, because he'd just lie. I'm gonna call marcy instead.

Rex: I was outside the brady pub tonight, and I met a woman. She was really distraught, said she--she just lost her brother, that he just died. After talking to my mom, I am convinced that woman was jordan ridgeway.

[Both grunting]

Ben: No. I'm gonna finish this right now.

Ciara: Ben, please, stop.

Kate: Okay, so did they find her yet?

Rex: Not yet, but they're gonna put a guard outside your room just to be safe.

Kate: What, do they think she might be in the hospital?

Rex: I don't know, but ciara's here, so I'm just glad they're taking precautions.

Kate: Oh, my god. Okay. Well, honey, look, you have really done enough. You really have. You sat with me. You waited through my tests. You got me police protection. You need to go now. You really do need to leave.

Rex: You're trying to get rid of me?

Kate: No, I'm not. I'm trying to help you salvage your valentine's day, okay? So you need to go. You need to be with sarah. She needs you more than I do.

Rex: Okay.

Kate: She really does.

Rex: All right. Well, look... I love you, and I'm just so grateful you're okay.

Eric: I think you get tunnel vision sometimes.

Eric: Yeah, it's like, when your brain hits the gas, it doesn't stop.

Sarah: My mom used to say that I would go from a to z and skip the back half of the a sometimes.

Eric: Sounds about right.

Sarah: I can't believe I called marcy-- on valentine's day.

Eric: [Chuckles] That was an interesting choice.

Eric: So marcy has a wife.

Eric: Hey, we, uh-- we ate all the food, but if we had known you were coming back sooner--

Rex: No, no, stop. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's--it's all good. Thank you for covering for me.

Eric: Of course.

Sarah: What's in the box?

Rex: Ah! This, brady pub famous coconut cream pie.

Eric: [Laughs]

Sarah: That-- that doesn't look like a pie.

Rex: Wow, that's a fail.

[Laughter] I guess my dad mixed up the box. Uh, sorry about that. Jeez.

Sarah: That's okay. That's okay. I'm--I'm full. So, uh, eric...

Eric: Yeah?

Sarah: As I remember, you love doughnuts.

Eric: Yeah!
