Episode #13446 ~ Rex's stunning admission sends Sarah into Eric's arms. John gives Marlena disappointing news about Xander. Rafe reveals to Hope that he's leaving town to help Sami. Xander makes a deal with Leo.

Rex: So what do you say? Now that we've had a few beers, you ready for a rematch in darts?

Sarah: You're just gonna lose again.

Rex: Well, we'll see about that.

Sarah: What do you say, eric? You up for another round?

[Soft music]

Rex: I think I'm ready for some alone time with her, but i need your help. So maybe when she comes back over, you can fake getting a text and look at it and be like, "oh, my god, it's urgent!" Then you can--you can go.

[Quiet music]

Chloe: So I hear that rex is staying with eric these days.

Marlena: Yes. Yes, that's right. I was...a little worried about eric after he lost nicole, but i think having his brother here will be good for him.

Chloe: I hope so too. I know we've had our issues over holly, but I hope he's okay.

Marlena: Thanks.

John: Hey. Um, I'm sorry, sweetheart. I had to take that call.

Marlena: Well, you're here now--that's all that matters.

Chloe: Your server will be with you shortly.

Both: Thanks.

John: Thanks.

Marlena: A problem with abe?

John: Yeah, I'm afraid so, sweetheart. Xander cook's still alive.

Marlena: Oh. Well, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I assume he's in custody?

John: [Scoffs] Well, he was. But they had to let him go.

Hope: [Softly] Ohh...

Eli: Hope, hope. I'm sorry we had to set xander free. I know how much trouble he's caused you and your family--

Hope: You know, it's not your fault, okay? It--

[Sighs] I'm sorry, but it's not. It's not your fault. You didn't lose the evidence.

Eli: Sheila's my friend. If it wasn't for me, she wouldn't even be working for abe.

Hope: Xander's evil. But...I can't stay he's stupid. He's very smart.

Eli: Yeah. And now he's a free man. I can't imagine the kiriakis family is too happy about that.

[Line ringing]

[Phone rings]

[Beep]

Will: Hi.

Sonny: Hey. I know I'm not supposed to be calling you, but I just really need to hear your voice.

Will: Did something happen?

Sonny: Leo dragged me around town today on this crazy shopping spree. He's spending all of my money, and I can't do anything about it.

Will: So tell him no.

Sonny: You know I can'T. If I don't do everything he says, he's gonna send us both to prison, will. I hate that I'm about to say this, 'cause you know I never intended to kill leo in the first place, but right now, i kinda wish I had.

[Fire crackling]

Leo: Uncle vic. Where's that handsome nephew of yours?

Victor: You mean your husband?

Leo: No. The other one. Piercing eyes, muscles for days.

Victor: Xander's in jail, where he belongs. And I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life there.

Xander: Sorry to disappoint you, uncle. But I'm back.

Eric: You know, I'd love to be humiliated at darts again but, uh...

[Beep beep] Excuse me. No.

Rex: What is it? Something urgent?

Sarah: What's wrong?

Eric: Xander's been released from jail.

Sarah: How is that possible?!

Eric: I should have killed the bastard when I had the chance.

Sarah: Eric, where are you going? Stop--eric!

Rex: Sarah, sarah, stop!

[Intense music]

[Soft orchestration]

Sarah: We can't just let eric run off like that.

Rex: I just really think we need to stay out of it, sarah.

Sarah: He tried to kill xander before--he might try to do it again.

Rex: Just listen to me. Eric is not going to kill xander.

Sarah: How do you know that? You weren't there before!

Rex: Wasn't real, sarah.

Sarah: What?

Rex: [Sighs] The--the text message that he just--I asked him...to pretend to get a fake, urgent text message.

Sarah: You asked eric to lie to me. Why?

Rex: Because... I wanted him to leave so you and I could be alone.

Victor: What the hell are you doing here? Thought they were gonna lock you up and throw away the key.

Xander: Well, somehow, the crack team at salem pd lost all the evidence they had against me.

Victor: How the hell did that happen?

Xander: Just classic incompetence, I imagine, so I'm not complaining. Cheer up, uncle. This is a good thing for you. You still need a ceo for titan, and since clearly no one in this family's up to the task, isn't it about time you accepted my deal?

Rafe: So no one's happy that xander walked. But it's only a matter of time before he screws up again, and when he does, we'll be on him.

Eli: I promise I won't rest until we nail that bastard.

Hope: Good. Stay on it, both of you.

Rafe: Kay. Oh, hope, I need to talk to you about something. In private.

Hope: Okay. Well, excuse us.

[Soft, suspenseful music]

Rafe: No. No. Actually, it's about sami.

Victor: If you don't mind, I'd just assume not discuss business in front of this money-grubbing blackmailer. Especially when he's ogling you like a bitch in heat.

Leo: Wh--what did you just call me?

Xander: Leo, do me a favor and leave us alone, would you?

Leo: I'm a part of this family too.

Xander: I'll come to see you as soon as we're done, i promise.

Leo: Don't take too long.

Xander: Look... I know you're nervous that chad knows everything about titan from the inside, but I can cut him off at the knees with the information I have on dimera. He won't stand a chance.

Victor: You may have the inside dirt on dimera... but you're still the same selfish, incompetent sociopath you always have been. So you can take your deal and shove it.

[Xander breathing hard]

Xander: Were you listening to that?

Leo: No! Victor turned down your deal, huh? Maybe it's time for you to reconsider mine. My husband's not around, and... while the cat is away, you and I should play.

Sonny: I tried to talk to leo about his mom some more, but then he started to get suspicious, so I had to change the subject. Have you found anything yet?

Will: Not yet, but john's working on this mother angle. I'm gonna go check in with him. I'll let you know when I know anything.

Sonny: All right.

Will: Hang in there. I love you.

Sonny: I love you. Knowing that we're in this together is the only thing that's keeping me going.

Marlena: I can't believe that animal is walking around on the street.

John: I'm so sorry, doc. Xander cook really needs to be punished for what he did to you.

Marlena: No-- look, I'm not looking for revenge. Come on, I'M...I'm well. I've never been happier in my life. I am just a bit worried about how eric will take the news.

Eric: You just let him go? You just let xander walk outta here?

Eli: We had no choice, all right? There's no evidence.

Eric: You have the video of him shooting my mother at a wedding.

Eli: Video's been deleted.

Eric: What? How?

Eli: It's a long story.

Eric: Don't you have somebody who can retrieve it?

Eli: Yeah, I.T. Is still working on it, but as of right now, it looks like xander was able to remove all the files.

Eric: How could you let this happen? I mean, xander shot my mother. He is the reason that holly doesn't even have a mother.

Eli: And that case is out of our jurisdiction. Look, it looks like the nashville police will be able to charge him.

Eric: No, they're not gonna charge him! This is what he does! He ruins people's lives, and he gets away with it. And he's gonna continue to do it unless somebody stands up to him and stops it.

Eli: Eric, I'm not gonna let you do this. I will lock you up if I have to.

Sarah: So eric just... made the text up? So xander wasn't really released?

Rex: All I know is that... like I said--I wanted to be alone with you, so I begged him to clear out, so...so he did.

Sarah: [Light laugh] More lying. Great. That's just what I need.

Rex: No, no, look, I'm sorry. Really, I am. The two of us just need to sit down, face-to-face, and talk and...oh, god. Sarah, I'm sorry. You know what? I know you're mad. I know you're still hurt, and i know you're not over any of it. Why the hell would you be? I don't blame you for that. I violated your trust, and you deserve better than that. And I'm not telling you anything you don't know, anything you haven't heard before. But sarah, I cannot express to you in words how much I hate myself for lying to you, for hurting you... and for jeopardizing the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you. I haven't stopped loving you. Not for a second. And I know you love me.

Sarah: I loved you...

[Sniffles] With all of my heart. I wanted to be your wife, but--

Rex: But I made the worst mistake I could ever make. And I will regret it for the rest of my life.

Sarah: [Sniffles] Actually... two mistakes. You made two mistakes. One with mimi... and you won't tell me who the other one was with.

Rafe: Sami called me a little while ago and...she's struggling.

Hope: How so?

Rafe: Well, ej's recovery is not going well, and, um... he's not responding to her, and his physical condition is not what they'd hoped.

Hope: Wow. I'm really sorry to hear that. So... what does that have to do with you?

Rafe: Well, that's a good question. Um...ej's struggling, so the kids are struggling too. And, um... sami was just thinking maybe I could help her out.

Hope: You could help her out?

Rafe: Mm-hmm.

Hope: You're going to go to be with sami?

Rafe: Well... no, I'm not--no, I'm not gonna be with sami. I'm gonna be with the kids, johnny mainly, just for a little while.

Hope: [Scoffs] Sami snaps her fingers, clicks her heels, and you go running. Again.

Marlena: Oh! Hi, honey.

John: Hey, kid, wanna join us for dinner? Come on.

Will: Um, no thank you, and I'm sorry to interrupt, but sonny and I are wondering if you have been--do you have any leads on leo's mom?

John: Well, I put out a hell of a lot of feelers today, but so far, nobody's gotten back with anything of substance.

Marlena: I'm sure something will turn up soon.

Will: I hope so. Anyway, thanks again for agreeing to take this on, and sonny says thank you.

John: Hey, my pleasure, and i will, uh, call you as soon as i hear something.

Will: I appreciate that.

[Cell phone rings]

John: Hold on, will. Could be something right now.

Victor: If you're looking for your loving husband, he's gone.

Sonny: Where'd he go?

Victor: Well, since he was practically drooling over xander, I suspect you'll find him in the foyer, waiting to pounce.

Sonny: Well, at least xander's pulling leo's attention away from me.

Victor: Ah. He's such a worm, that one. Can't wait to crush him under my foot.

Sonny: Well, it may happen sooner than you think. Not being able to crush him, but him being gone.

Victor: Well, how do we make this dream come true?

Sonny: Well, let's just say that leo has a lot of skeletons in his closet...and I might have figured out the one that he wants to keep locked away.

Leo: Whatever information you have on dimera is clearly not enough for victor to name you ceo. But I guarantee you that what i have on sonny is.

Xander: It must be pretty monumental... if it was enough to force sonny to marry you.

Leo: The scandal would bring down titan for good. If you were armed with what i have, victor would have no choice but to hand you the job. I'm happy to share all the information with you. All you have to do is... share everything else... with me.

[Lightly edgy music]

Xander: Fine. You win. Whatever you want.

Hope: [Sighs]

Rafe: Were you listening to me?

Hope: Oh, yeah. I heard you. I heard you, um...loud and clear.

Rafe: Okay. Well, then you should understand that it's not about sami. It's about the kids, especially johnny. He... hope, he's having a really tough time right now, okay? He's acting out. He's skipping school. He's running away.

Hope: Isn't lucas with him right now?

Rafe: Yeah, but he has got his hands full with allie. It's--you know, and sami, she's with ej all the time. Johnny is out of control.

Hope: Okay. Why you? What about sami's family? What about marlena or roman or-- I--there's so many other people.

Rafe: No, I get it, I just-- johnny and I, we always had a very special relationship. We were close. And sami thinks that I'm the only one who can pull him out of it right now.

Hope: Wow, I... I mean, I...

[Exhales] Feel bad, I mean... I'm sorry that johnny's going through such a tough time. Really.

Rafe: Yeah. Okay. So...you understand that.

Hope: I understand that... you care about johnny. That you're a kind person. Rafe... you just... recently slept with her. You had sex with sami.

Eli: All right. Then you have my word that the salem pd will do everything they can to make sure that xander pays for his crimes.

Leo: You're really gonna sleep with me? This isn't some kind of cruel joke?

Xander: Be in my room in ten minutes.

Leo: Wow! Uh, make it 15. I'm gonna take a shower and look my best.

Xander: Just hurry up before I change my mind. And bring alcohol. I'm gonna need a stiff drink if I'm gonna go through with this.

Leo: Oh, I'm gonna bring something stiff.

Rafe: I'm trying to explain to you that I am not running off to be with sami. I am going for johnny, hope. He needs my help.

Hope: I need you.

Rafe: You need me, really?

Rafe: It seems to me like the only person that you need is ted laurent.

Hope: Ted?

Rafe: Yeah.

Rex: I was trying to run after sarah.

Eric: Sarah, you know the reason he came back to salem was to win you back. He still loves you.

Sarah: Heck, he loves me so much, he slept with my sister.

Chloe: Yeah, well, then you just make up a new truth so you don't destroy the woman on the spot. You could've told her that you slept with a stranger, or the entire bears cheerleading squad. Or me. Anyone would have been better than her own sister.

Rex: All right, so be honest with me. Do you think it'S...over? Or do I have another shot?

Chloe: I don't know, but honestly, if it were me, I'd want to punish the hell out of you. I'd want to make sure that you hurt in the worst possible way.

Sarah: Rex slept with my sister, which is the worst kind of betrayal imaginable and I want him to know what that kind of betrayal feels like. And I know this is gonna make me feel a whole lot better. So there you are with your depression

Rafe: I don't want to leave you like this. You have to know--you have to know that this-- this isn't a choice between you or sami or-- it's not about our marriage. Or how much I love you. Would you say something?

Hope: Have a safe trip.

John: Nice. What was that for?

Marlena: What, do I need a reason? I'm just so grateful that you're helping will.

John: Sonny and will were meant to be.

Marlena: Like two other people I know.

[Phone ringing]

Sonny: Hey, did you talk to john yet?

Will: Yes, and I am glad I did, 'cause I have good news.

Sonny: Does he have a lead on leo's mom?

Will: Looks like he's got something solid.

Sonny: Oh, that's great. If we can track down leo's mom, we can finally neutralize this little weasel once and for all.

Xander: I have to admit, I underestimated you. It'S...quite impressive what you pulled off here really.

Leo: You mean that?

Xander: Yeah. You have enough leverage to force sonny to marry you and have victor go along with it. I mean...

Leo: It wasn't easy. I paid my dues.

Xander: Gimme a clue. What you have on him? I'm dying to know.

Leo: Are we gonna talk all night? Because I'm starting to wonder whether or not you're actually gonna go through with this.

Xander: Let's have a little drink first, eh?

Leo: Well, what are we drinking to?

Xander: To business.

Leo: To pleasure.

[Upbeat music]

Xander: Okay. How do we do this?

Leo: You just relax, enjoy it. I'm gonna do all the heavy lifting. And I promise, you won't regret it.

Rex: Sarah was so devastated, chloe, and angry. I've never seen her that upset before, not even about mimi and the baby.

Chloe: Well, yeah, I mean, kind of doubled down on a girl's worst nightmare; you slept with her sister.

Rex: Oh, god. I can't even hear that anymore. I gotta go after her. I'm sorry. I gotta fix this!

Sarah: Please don't stop.

Eric: No, we need to stop before we do something we regret.

Sarah: No. I'm not gonna regret it, and I don't think you are either.

Eric: Sarah.

Sarah: No, please, there's a connection between us, and there has been from the start. Are you gonna deny that?

Eric: No.
