Gabi: Whoo. Today has been non-stop, but lavender... solves everything. I was checking on Ari and Thomas and everybody's good. Arianna's having wonderful dreams which I'm so happy about because she's been having nightmares about Sonny. You okay?

Chad: Yeah. Just, uh-- just a lot on my mind.

Gabi: Hi. Yeah, I'm glad I'm here then. So maybe I can help you with that. Get over here. Get over here. Oh, wow, yeah, you are very tense. Do you wanna talk about it?

Chad: Uh, it's just about my meeting with Abby.

Gabi: Yeah, to talk about Dario's place in Thomas' life. Understandable. Listen, he's really great with Arianna, so I think he's in a great place.

Chad: I lied to you.

Abigail: Yeah, Mel, I know it's the fifth time I called you, but I've got to know the second that Dario's been processed. I have to see him. [Sighs] Okay, thank you. Oh, my God. Thank God you're here.

Theo: Do you have Dario's phone?

Abigail: No, it's such a mess. He's been arrested and so I looked for the phone. I couldn't find it. He must have it with him. Just please tell me you were able to hack into his cloud storage.

Theo: Not yet. Dario's using two-factor authentication and encryption. Okay, it's just not as easy as I initially thought.

Abigail: Okay, Theo... you've gotta figure out a way to get in there so that we can delete that photo because Dario could be using it to hurt Chad right now. Oh, my God. I just hope we're not too late. [Sighs]

[Phone rings]

Dario: That's, uh-- that's private property.

Hope: We're finished with booking.

Dario: And it was such a pleasure. Your fiancée, she's a... a real pro.

Rafe: Shut the hell up.

Dario: I'm just trying to keep things civil.

Rafe: I don't want to hear a word out of your mouth.

Dario: That's where you'd be making a big mistake, brother, because I guarantee you're gonna want to hear what I have to say.

Hope: So let's hear it.

Dario: How about you give me my phone first?

[Dramatic music]

Brady: Why am I getting the sense that you're upset with me?

Jennifer: Do you remember the other day after our AA meeting when I opened up to you about Eric and I told you that we would be better off as friends?

Brady: I do.

Jennifer: Yeah, and you encouraged me not to give up on him romantically.

Brady: Yeah, still feel that way.

Jennifer: Because you said you care about me and you want me to find true love.

Brady: Of course. Yes.

Jennifer: Or is this one, big, fat ulterior motive?

Eric: What are you doing with those?

Nicole: I-I was just--

Eric: And when did you decide it was okay to ransack my desk drawer?

Nicole: I was just looking for a tissue.

Eric: Yeah, well, these are private.

Nicole: But my name is on them... and I have a right to know, Eric. What are they?

Abigail: Are you in yet?

Theo: No.

Abigail: How--how soon?

Theo: Um, Dario's gonna have years of storage on his cloud, so it could take us days before we can go through all the files on his image folder.

Abigail: But we don't have days, we don't even have hours.

Theo: I know, which is why it'd be very helpful if you could describe the picture for me.

Abigail: You know, I was thinking that maybe we could pull it up based on date and then I could just go through it and find what I need and then I'll--I'll delete it.

Theo: Okay, well, can you give me a specific date?

Abigail: Um, yeah, it was, um...the day of the--the Horton center, um-- the benefit at the Martin house. It was June 27th. It could've been the 28--

Theo: And how is this gonna help Chad? What's on the photo?

Abigail: I would rather not say.

Theo: Abby, I'm gonna see it anyways, okay? You would save us a lot of time if you just tell me what we're looking for.

Abigail: Okay, all right, yeah, all right, you're right. Um... [Sighs] Um... well, Dario has a picture... implicating Chad in the murder of Deimos Kiriakis.

[Dramatic music]

Rafe: Why do you need your phone?

Dario: I need to speak to my lawyer.

Hope: You already made your phone call.

Dario: I had to leave a message.

Hope: I'm sure he'll get in touch with you.

Dario: Maybe I'd like to speak to my wife.

Hope: Not gonna happen.

Dario: Oh, wow. So much for family helping family.

Rafe: Are you ser-- you have any idea what kind of a position you've put us in, Dario? Huh? You broke the law. Thanks to your buddy Myron, we now have you dead to rights. Counterfeiting, hacking, millions stolen. What happened to cleaning up your act or being a better person for Abigail?

Dario: I'm a businessman.

Rafe: You're a crook.

Dario: [Laughs] Oh, I guess-- I guess we all couldn't be heroes.

Rafe: How about a decent person?

Hope: Stop. Stop. Lower your voices.

Rafe: You didn't learn a damn thing from our father.

Dario: Well, I do have one thing he didn't... a get-out-of-jail-free card. And no matter how bad you think I am, I promise you I am not the worst person that you know. You're gonna wanna hear what I have to say. No lies, no spin, just the god's honest truth and I can prove it.

Rafe: Okay. All right, then. Go ahead and talk.

Gabi: I knew it! I knew it! You did not go see Abigail to talk about Dario and Thomas, you went there to talk about Abigail and you.

Chad: Can I--

Gabi: And you left that meeting because it was really important so what is it? What did you need to talk to her about? The party. Was it about the party?

Chad: It's not the party.

Gabi: Did you remember something when you were completely out of your mind?

Chad: It's not about Thomas.

Gabi: Did you do something? Did you kiss her? Is it more than kissing?

Chad: It's your brother.

Gabi: Look, I know that you don't like him, but you have to understand that they love each other, okay?

Chad: He's a criminal.

Gabi: No. No, he's over that. He promised me that he was a straight up business man.

Chad: Okay, well, there's counterfeiting for starters.

Gabi: No. No, he's not doing that. I know he's not doing that. He promised that he was--

Chad: Look, he's-- he's hacking people. Businesses. He's stealing from people. He stole from me. Yeah, he stole from me, Gabi.

Jennifer: I am feeling really manipulated here and I do not like it.

Brady: Whoa, okay, you're losing me.

Jennifer: Okay, I was at the martin house because I was dropping off donuts for Abigail and JJ and I ran into Eric and he told me what happened with Nicole that night at that party when everybody was drugged.

Brady: Right, right, did he? Did he now? Um, what did he tell you?

Jennifer: He told me that they got very close and that they told you about it and you got upset. You must know that there's nothing between them.

Brady: [Scoffs] Yeah, no, that's what they said.

Jennifer: Okay, so that's what this is about. This is jealousy, nothing more.

Brady: Oh, no, no, no. No. No. I'm not jealous, okay? Admittedly I was upset at first hearing about it, but I talked to Nicole about it and we understand each other and it's fine. Everything's fine.

Jennifer: So everything is just fine between you and Nicole?

Brady: Couldn't be better.

Jennifer: Okay, then why do you keep shoving me at Eric?

Brady: I'm not sho-- who's shov-- I'm not shoving anybody. I just--I--he's my brother. I like you and I think you two would be good in a relationship.

Jennifer: No, you know what? I think you are trying to put me in the middle of Eric and Nicole.

[Gentle dramatic music]

Eric: They're just letters.

Nicole: Yeah, addressed to me.

Eric: I have a deadline.

Nicole: That's it?

Eric: I'd appreciate if you wouldn't help yourself in my desk drawers.

Nicole: When you were first in prison, you wrote to me. I read the first letter. I sent the second one back and I didn't open the rest of them, but those... [Sighs] Those were never sent to me.

Eric: Can we just get back to work?

Nicole: Absolutely. I don't wanna know. You know what? Whatever is in those letters, that's your business, not mine. It's in the past and I'm done with it. All I wanna do is finish my community service and get my baby girl back.

Theo: No, that's-- that's not possible because Sonny Kiriakis was arrested for killing Deimos.

Abigail: Okay, well, Dario has a photo of Chad... at least standing over Deimos' body and he's... he's cleaning fingerprints off of the knife.

Theo: No. No, way. Chad wouldn't kill anyone.

Abigail: I agree.

Theo: And even if he did-- which he didn't, Sonny is Chad's best friend. There's no way Chad would let him go to jail for a crime Chad committed.

Abigail: Okay, we--you have to remember that we were all drugged that night, so... our memories are very hazy and there are a lot of gaps. So, if Chad did do this and--[Sighs] I hope to god that he didn't, but, um, he doesn't remember.

Theo: Maybe it was Photoshopped.

Abigail: I don't think so.

Theo: This is bad.

Abigail: I'm sorry, Theo. Gosh, I should've never dragged you into this. I did not--I just wanted to protect you.

Theo: No, I'm fine. It's Chad we need to protect. [Sighs] All right, I'm gonna find this photo and I'm gonna make sure that it is permanently wiped from every single one of Dario's devices.

Gabi: I'm just so confused. I mean, I thought Dario had changed.

Chad: Well, he only cares about himself.

Gabi: How do you even know about the counterfeiting or the hacking?

Chad: Abby told me.

Gabi: So you spoke to her about it.

Chad: She's his wife.

Gabi: I'm his sister.

Chad: I was protecting you.

Gabi: Well, lying is not protecting me.

Chad: And I'm sorry.

Gabi: So who else knows? Are you going to go to the police?

Chad: No, not yet. Abby seems convinced that she'll be able to get him to do the right thing and return the money.

Gabi: And if she can't?

Chad: Look, if it's--it's-- with something this big, if he doesn't shut it down, it's bound to catch up with him. The cops and everyone else are gonna find out about it and at that point, there's nothing I can do about it. It's out of my hands.

Jennifer: Nicole... she's in love with you. You--you have risked everything for her and holly.

Brady: So did Eric.

Jennifer: But you're her hero and nothing can change that. Certainly not some drugged out moment with Eric.

Brady: Well, he was her first love. They were engaged once.

Jennifer: But you're her future, Brady.

Brady: I know. Hey, I know that. That's all I want.

Jennifer: And I believe that's what Eric wants. He knows you and Nicole are good together. He knows you're good for each other and he respects that. He would never come between the two of you. I believe him.

Brady: You believe him? You believe him because you're good friends.

Jennifer: I believe him because I know that he's a really good man.

Brady: He's a really good man that you used to have feelings for. I would even venture to say... you still do.

Jennifer: Are we really back to this because I want it to stop. This is not about you wanting what's best for me, it's about you being jealous.

Nicole: Are you working on the grant proposal for the at-risk outreach program?

Eric: The deadline is Friday.

Nicole: Okay, well, I have the numbers for the projected budget.

Eric: Just add it to the pile.

Nicole: If you need any help--

Eric: No, I don't.

Nicole: Okay, you know what? This would go a lot faster if we just tackle this together. So why don't you cover the executive summary and work on the statement of need and I will finish the budge--

Eric: Nicole, stop! Just stop it, okay? I can't do this.

Rafe: All right, then. Why don't we go talk somewhere more private?

Raines: Why am I just finding out about this? There's a chain of command, detective.

Hope: I tried to reach you for the warrant.

Raines: So you went around me.

Hope: I went to Eli.

Raines: The only reason you have a job is because I gave you a second chance. And this is how you play it? And you're the accused brother. This has stink written all over it.

Hope: It's by the book.

Raines: You're out now. Both of you. I'm taking over. Let's go, Hernandez.

Eli: Raines, hold on.

Raines: I got this.

Eli: Officially this is a FBI investigation which means he's all mine.

[Tense music]

Gabi: I'm gonna go talk to Dario.

Chad: Look, that's not-- it's not an option.

Gabi: It's a great option. I'm his sister, okay?

Chad: I need you to let Abby handle this.

Gabi: No, I'm gonna go talk some sense into him. I'm gonna tell him he can fix this. That he has time to fix this. Okay?

Chad: No. Please.

Gabi: I have already lost my father, I am not about to lose my brother.

Chad: I understand that family's important to you, but I need you to let this thing play out and let Abby handle it.

Gabi: So, what? I just do nothing? I just sit here and do nothing and hope things work out?

Chad: I have an idea of something you can do.

Gabi: Don't tell me, to calm down. Don't tell me to breathe, Chad.

Chad: I'm not gonna tell you to breathe, I'm not gonna tell you to breathe, just come here.

Gabi: No, I'm gonna go talk to Dario.

[Gentle music]

Chad: [Whispers] It's okay.

Gabi: [Crying] I'm scared.

Chad: I know this is a lot. Look at me. You are an incredibly fierce woman, but you don't need to take on everything yourself. You have me. Understand that? Yeah?

Gabi: Yeah.

Chad: See, that's not so bad now, is it?

Gabi: [Crying] No.

Brady: I'm not jealous, okay?

Jennifer: Oh, come on. Honestly, it is so obvious. It's ridiculous, Brady!

Brady: You know what you're doing? You're over-reacting, Jenn.

Jennifer: Am I?

Brady: Yes, because all I thought is that it would be good for you and Eric--both of you, to have a relationship.

Jennifer: Right.

Brady: You deserve a relationship, you know?

Jennifer: Yeah, okay, and then Eric would be busy with me so that would keep him away from Nicole, right?

Brady: That is the dumbest--

Jennifer: Please! Just be honest! If you can't be honest with me, just be honest with yourself!

Brady: [Shouts] Stop! All right, damnit! I'm jealous.

Eric: You wanna know about the letters?

Nicole: No, I don't--

Eric: I can tell you.

Nicole: I just wanna clock my hours and get out of here.

Eric: Yeah, well, you didn't respond to the first letter and you didn't open the rest, but I couldn't stop writing.

Nicole: Even though you knew I wouldn't read them?

Eric: Because I thought I could find-- if I could find the words... I thought if I could keep writing... maybe I could find some hope. I could see the light. That I could be more than then man that I was for-- being the one who killed Daniel.

Nicole: Did it help?

Eric: That night at the party-- the night we both saw Daniel, you know what he said to me? He said, "you have to move on. Let go of the pain." How do I do that? When I look at you... at parker, at Maggie... and holly-- the daughter he never knew because of me. That's asking for forgiveness that's unforgiveable.

[Somber music]

Nicole: What are you doing? No! No!

Theo: All right.

Abigail: Are you in?

Theo: Close.

Abigail: Wait, so how soon until you are in?

Theo: I don't know, soon. Sooner if, um...

Abigail: If I'm not distracting you. Okay. Um... well, I should go ahead and get to the station because I just wanna--I wanna see how everything's going and I wanna make sure that Dario hasn't been speaking to anyone official, but... thank you, Theo. I don't know what I would do without you.

Theo: I mean, I-I'd do anything for my uncle.

Abigail: He's very lucky to have you.

Theo: And he's lucky to have you, too. Hey, Abby, um... everyone knows Dario's a liar. So why would anyone believe anything he has to say?

Abigail: Because if he gets desperate enough, all he has to do is pull out his phone and show them the proof.

Theo: The photo won't be there. Or anywhere else. I promise.

Abigail: Thank you.

Gabi: I'm sorry, I got some tears or some--I messed up your shirt a little bit.

Chad: It's fine. It survived worse than a little-- a little make up.

Gabi: And I'm sorry I went off on you just then. I know you were just trying to protect me.

Chad: I lied to you.

Gabi: To protect me. I'm sorry about the whole party thing. I just started getting this crazy idea that maybe there was something going on. You know, romantic between the two of you.

Chad: No, we've been over that and, uh... anything that happened between Abby and I was... because of the--the halo.

Gabi: Yeah.

Chad: And I would assume the same goes for you and JJ.

Gabi: It does.

Chad: Well, Abby is with Dario now and I do love you. You have to believe that.

Gabi: I do. I just, um...

Chad: What?

Gabi: Well, I mean... with everything that's been going on, I just... I hope this doesn't change everything. I mean, with, uh... Abigail and Dario.

Raines: This is a joint effort.

Eli: And the FBI is grateful for the cooperation of the Salem pd.

Raines: We're partners. I gave you full use of the PDS resources, one of my youngest, best detectives. You can't just shut me out now.

Eli: I'm sorry, commissioner, but I'm pulling rank on this.

[Tense music]

Send in his attorney when he gets here.

We'll get your statement as soon as your attorney arrives.

Dario: We don't need to wait for my lawyer. I wanna make a deal.

[Dramatic music]

Jennifer: Admitting the problem is the first step.

Brady: [Sighs] Two words. I'm sorry. Hey, I owe you an apology.

Jennifer: Apology accepted.

Brady: I love Nicole. I'm in love with her, Jenn, and I... you know, anything that threatens that makes me a little...crazy. It freaks me out.

Jennifer: Yeah, I know. I know, and Eric is... hardly a threat.

Brady: I know. I know it, but then when they-- when they kissed, Jenn-- when I found out that they kissed...

Jennifer: What? What?

Brady: That was a whole no--

Jennifer: Wait, they kissed?

Brady: Eric didn't mention that, did he?

Nicole: Stop.

Eric: It's got to end, Nicole.

Nicole: Stop. Stop. Stop. Please. Okay, just... listen to me. I'm-- I'm just as guilty.

Eric: You have nothing to be guilty about.

Nicole: Yeah, I do. You loved Daniel as much as I did. And I knew you were suffering, but I didn't care. I wanted you to burn with guilt and grief until there was nothing left of you.

Eric: It's what I deserved.

Nicole: No. No, it's not. You know, whether what happened was a dream or a hallucination... I felt Daniel's presence. His peace. His love... for both of us. But I let him down because it was easier to hold on to my anger and-- and hide behind it. But that's not what he would do. Daniel never hid behind anything. So...

[Sniffles] I would like to read the letters.

Eric: No, no, no, no, please.

Nicole: Please, Eric. Let me read them.

[Somber music]

I lost my sight

Chad: It's gonna take more than Dario breaking the law to end that marriage. Seems like no matter what side the law Dario's on, Abby's gonna stand by him.

Gabi: That's good. I mean, I feel like Dario needs somebody like that. Somebody who will love him no matter what and who will see the good in him.

Chad: I'm gonna go take a shower.

Gabi: Okay, so maybe when you're finished, I can help you out with all those knots you got. Go. Go! [Laughs]

Abigail: What's happening? Can I talk to Dario?

Hope: No, I'm sorry. That's not possible right now.

Abigail: But I'm his wife. I have a right to talk to him.

Raines: Good luck with that because apparently this is the FBI's show and it's a damn circus. I'm gonna call Eli's supervisor then I'll deal with you two.

Abigail: Please. I really-- I need to talk to him.

Rafe: Well, you can't talk to him. As you can see, he's in there right now with Eli.

Abigail: Okay, so... is he talking? Is he being questioned?

Hope: His attorney's not here yet.

Abigail: This is Dario's phone.

[Dramatic music]

Dario: We have a deal?

Eli: Look, what you're offering is bona fide--

Dario: It's rock solid.

Eli: It's big, no doubt about it, but... doesn't mean my boss will go for it.

Dario: Yeah, well, my money's is he's gonna jump all over it. Hell, he might even thank me.

Eli: Then there's your counsel. You might wanna consult with your attorney.

Dario: My lawyer does what I tell him. I know what I want. You have my terms, you can take 'em or leave 'em.

Brady: Yeah, apparently. Nicole thought Eric was Daniel.

Jennifer: That makes sense, right?

Brady: Sure. You still have feelings for him, don't you? And this--this is not a push-- this is not a shove, Jennifer, I'm just... kind of reading your face right now.

Jennifer: I-- um... if we're being honest... maybe. I don't know. I-I don't know. I do know that we-- we do not have a future.

Brady: Why not? Why not?

Jennifer: Because he has some unresolved issues.

Brady: Yeah, Daniel, his guilt. Yeah, of course, but that doesn't make sense why that would come in between y-- unless... unless the issue you're referring to is another woman. Like... Nicole or something like that.

Jennifer: Brady, he's a complicated man.

Brady: He still has feelings for her, doesn't he?

Eric: I'm gonna take a walk.

Nicole: Eric, wait.

[Somber music]

Eric: Dear Nicole, it's one of those days Daniel loved. The sun's hot, the sky's clear. Daniel would want to be anywhere but indoors. My guilt rises and sets with that damn sun. Every breath is a reminder that the wrong man died that night. And so I'll write letters you'll never read, begging for forgiveness I don't deserve and hope for a miracle that will never happen. On the day I killed Daniel, I didn't just lose my best friend, I lost myself. And there's nothing I can ever do to bring either of us back.

Hope: Abby, I'm sorry, we can't-- we can't let you have this.

Rafe: It's evidence.

Abigail: But I just--I wanted to, um--I need to call Dario's lawyer and it's-- his number's in here in the contact list. If I could--

Rafe: Dario... he already made that call.

Abigail: Oh. Well--

Hope: He's claiming that he has a get-out-of-jail-free card and he's willing to give up the information in exchange for a deal.

Abigail: Dario--but he wouldn't say anything at all if his lawyer wasn't present, right? I mean-- hey, what--what did he say?

Eli: He can tell you himself.

Abigail: I can--I can go in there?

Eli: Yeah, he asked for you.

[Dramatic music]

Brady: I knew it. I knew it. Damnit, I knew it! I knew--I knew that guy still had feelings for Nicole.

Jennifer: No, Brady, please. He didn't say anything.

Brady: Of course, Eric still wants Nicole.

Jennifer: He didn't. It's just a sense...

Brady: What?

Jennifer: That I have. That maybe he still has some residual feelings for Nicole.

Brady: Oh, god.

Jennifer: But listen, like I told you-- for the millionth time, Nicole loves you.

[Brady groans]

Jennifer: She loves you, not Eric. And you have a family together. You have Tate and holly is gonna be with you soon enough and that's what you need to look forward to.

Brady: Yeah, I know.

Jennifer: Your future together.

Brady: Yes. Yes. Nicole and I are blessed. I just need to get over it. I need to let it go.

Jennifer: Yeah, you do. I mean, that party, it hurt so many people and you can't let that come between you and Nicole. Or you and Eric. He is your brother. He loves you.

Brady: I know that. I know that.

Jennifer: Don't just say the words. You need to know it here and you need to go-- you need to go tell him that.

Jennifer: You are as wise as you are beautiful, Jennifer.

Jennifer: I want you to be happy.

Brady: Well, you're gonna have to bring me some of those donuts next time, then, next time you make them. You'll bring some over to me, right?

Jennifer: I will. I promise you.

Brady: All right.

Jennifer: And you promise me that you'll stop trying to matchmake with me and Eric.

Brady: Never again. I'm never gonna do that again. Thank you.

Jennifer: Okay. Hey... just don't-- don't let jealousy come between you and your happiness.

Brady: Jenn... don't let pride get in the way of yours.

[Somber music]

Nicole: Thank you... for letting me read the letters. Um, I should go. Get back to Brady and Tate. It's late.

Eric... may--may I keep the letters?

And, Eric... I forgive you.

Theo: Yes!

[Dramatic music]

Oh, my god.

Abe: Theo?

[Suspenseful music]

Eli: Dario serious about cutting a deal.

Rafe: Okay, what do you think?

Eli: I have to take it to my boss.

Hope: What's he offering?

Eli: At this point, I can't discuss the terms, but I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Rafe: What could my little brother possibly know?

Hope: Who is he willing to bury to save himself?

[Dramatic music]

Abigail: What'd you say? Did you tell them about Chad?

Dario: Oh, man. It's so great that the only one you care about in this, is Chad. Obviously, you couldn't care less whether I spend the rest of my life behind bars or not.

Abigail: Just answer the question, Dario.

Dario: No. I didn't. I could've. 'Cause it would be so great. I kept quiet.

Abigail: Thank you.

Dario: I did it for you, Abigail.

Abigail: So if you didn't say anything about Chad, then there's no deal.

Dario: Oh, no, there's a deal. There's a deal and it's-- it's a sweet one.

Abigail: I don't understand.

Dario: It's simple. I have a partner in crime. I give 'em up, they put me in the witness protection program.

Abigail: So you won't ever say anything about Chad?

Dario: Not if you come with me.
