Episode #13093 ~ Nicole and Eric put aside their differences and agree to work together to try to escape; Deimos is angry to learn he's been tricked; Sonny and Paul jump Guy and deliver him into JJ's custody; Ciara is horrified to learn of Theo and Wyatt's lie.

Ciara: You've been lying to me this whole time?

Theo: Ciara, please, if you let me explain--

Ciara: [Crying] Oh, my god!

Claire: Theo, what is she talking about?

[Tense music]

Theo: Wyatt and I sat next to each other in computer class.

Claire: Wait--what? You guys knew each other?

Theo: He was telling me how he and his girlfriend just broke up and he wanted to meet someone new, and I thought since Ciara was already on the dating site, I just thought--

Claire: What?

Theo: I thought that if I had Wyatt reach out to her, she would finally have a boyfriend.

Claire: You did not do that.

Ciara: Yep. Because I am such a loser that there is no way that I could find a boyfriend on my own.

Theo: I didn't think that.

Ciara: Theo, how could you!

Theo: Ciara, I was trying to help you, I swear--that's why I told him everything about you. I just wanted you guys to have stuff in common! I wanted you to be happy.

Ciara: [Crying] Do I look happy? You made this--this perfect guy that I fell for. I fell hard! And it's not even real!

[Somber music]

Deimos: So? Did the mission go as planned?

Guy: See for yourself. You were right. Chad DiMera had the amulet.

Deimos: Excellent work.

[Dramatic musical sting]

Deimos: What is this, some kind of a joke? The box is empty!

[Spoon clinking]

Nicole: Ugh!

Eric: Something you wanna say to me?

Nicole: Yeah, there is, but I don't think you wanna hear it.

Eric: Well, you're obviously upset--maybe if you--

Nicole: You know, I should be halfway across the Mediterranean by now! Holly and I were on that plane, ready to take off. We were almost free--finally! But because of you, I might never see her again.

Eric: Why did you come back?

Nicole: Well, it's not because I care about you, if that's what you're thinking. It's because of Brady. [Exhales] I talked to him when I was on the plane... but we were disconnected before I could tell him that you weren't with me, and he would be devastated if I left you behind. And that is the only reason-- Brady is the only reason... because I love him. I love him so much. But you? You, I hate--I hate you with every fiber of my being. Damn you, Eric! Damn you!

[Somber music]

JJ: I will, Mom, as soon as I hear anything. I love you too.

[Phone beeps]

Lani: How's your mom?

JJ: I'm worried. She hasn't heard from Eric since he took off for Greece.

Eli: Well, yeah, if he had cooperated from the get-go, we probably all would have been home by now. I need to get some air.

Lani: Why do I get the feeling things didn't...go so well with Gabi?

JJ: I hope you're wrong about that, but...it's not our problem.

Lani: It kind of is. I told Eli that he should tell Gabi exactly how he's feeling, and...if that backfired on him--

JJ: Look, I'm pretty sure you're over-thinking it, okay? And besides, we don't have time to worry about Eli's love life right now. We need to focus on nailing Deimos and Xander--that's it.

Lani: You're right. That's why we're here--to nail those bastards and get Eric and Nicole and the baby home safely.

[Tense music]

[Nicole sniffles]

[Soft music]

Eric: How's Brady?

Nicole: I don't know. He didn't sound good. I was on the phone with him for a minute, if that, before we were disconnected, and I didn't get a chance to...to ask him how he was feeling or if he was gonna be okay.

Eric: I'm sorry.

Nicole: He thinks we're coming home. I told him we were leaving soon.

Eric: Is holly... is holly still on the plane?

Nicole: I told the pilot to leave if I wasn't back by tonight, so I'm sure they're gone by now, and I'm probably never gonna see her again.

Eric: You can't give up!

Nicole: I can't give up? In the eyes of the law, holly's not my child!

[Soft music]

Eric: What if you and Chloe were able to have shared custody?

Nicole: [Small laugh] Oh... that is never gonna happen.

Eric: No, no, not necessarily. She and I had a conversation before I left, and she was open to the idea.

Nicole: Oh, really, she was open to the idea? No, she wasn't! That was a trick! If I go back to Salem, I will go to jail for kidnapping. I will lose everything!

Eric: You know, sometimes... sometimes things have a way of working themselves out... when you least expect it. You were able to find love again.

Nicole: Yeah. [Sniffles] And I didn't think I would. Not after you killed Daniel.

[Somber music]

Ciara: [Crying] Is it true?

Wyatt: I'M... I'm sorry, Ciara.

Ciara: [Crying] Wow.

Wyatt: Look, none of that means anything...okay? I liked you from the jump, and I know that you liked me too.

Ciara: The guy I liked doesn't even exist!

Wyatt: No, that was all Theo's idea. I wanted to get to know you from the beginning--I swear I did. But Theo had me use this cheat sheet that--

Ciara: Cheat sheet?

Theo: Stop lying--that was his idea, Ciara, he's lying!

Wyatt: That is bull, Theo, and you know it. Like I really have trouble scoring girls? I could get any girl on that campus.

Ciara: [Scoffs]

Wyatt: You're the one that I want.

Ciara: Was anything you even said ever true?

Wyatt: Sure, it was. I-- I mean, some of it, yes. I wasn't lying when I said how much I liked you. And who cares if we don't like the same music or pizza toppings? We have chemistry. That's what matters.

Theo: No. What matters to you is her money and that she does your homework for you. You know, she does everything for you.

Wyatt: That is...

Theo: She does everything for you!

Wyatt: Bull!

Ciara: Just stop it, stop it! Both of you. I never wanna see you again.

Wyatt: No-- Ciara--

Theo: Hey, stay away, Wyatt--

Claire: Hey, stop, I'll go, okay?

Theo: I'll go.

[Somber music]

Paul: Come on. Turn around for me. Turn...around.

[Lens clicks]

Paul: There we go. Okay, I think I got some good ones.

Sonny: Now what?

Paul: Now we're gonna have to call in for some help.

[Edgy music]

[Phone beeps]

[Line ringing]

[Phone rings]

JJ: What's up?

Paul: Hey, man, I'm sending over some photos of a guy who's meeting with Deimos--I was hoping that we could get an id.

JJ: Great. Yeah, eli'll run them through the FBI database, see what we can find.

Paul: Thanks, JJ.

[Phone beeps]

Sonny: You think they'll come up with anything?

Paul: Yeah, let's hope so. We are going to need some solid leads if we're gonna nab Deimos.

[Edgy music]

Deimos: What are you, some kind of an idiot? You didn't think to look inside the box?

Guy: I heard something rattle inside!

Deimos: All right. At least it wasn't a total loss.

Guy: What's that?

Deimos: It's valuable information. I had it delivered with the amulet.

Guy: Do you want me to go back for the artifact--

No! No, forget it! Chad'll be extra-vigilant by now.

Guy: I thought that--

Deimos: Just shut up, all right? Forget about the amulet. We need to focus right now on our primary agenda.

Nicole: I still can't believe you're here. I mean...how did you get out of prison early?

Eric: I didn't ask to be pardoned. I wanted to serve my whole term.

Nicole: Ah, yes, there it is. Saint Eric always wanting to do the right thing except... for those brief lapses when you commit mortal sins. You know, like murder. I heard you were living in some farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Are you still there?

Eric: No. I actually moved back to Salem.

Nicole: What?!

Eric: I'm working at the Horton center.

Nicole: Oh, my god. You could choose to work anywhere in the world, and you...came back to Salem? How could you do that to Maggie?

Eric: Maggie's actually been very gracious. She's forgiven me.

Nicole: I guess she's a better person than I am. How the hell did you get a job at the Horton center?

Eric: They needed a counselor.

Nicole: [Laughs] You don't have the right to counsel anyone.

Eric: Sorry you feel that way.

Nicole: Mm, yeah. There you go spouting platitudes you learned from your mother. That doesn't make you a counselor.

Eric: You know what? You're right. But that doesn't mean I can't help anyone.

Nicole: Well, I hope you're not referring to me... because I don't need your help. I was rebuilding my life before you walked back into it. You understand this, Eric. I'm a strong woman now. I have been to hell and back, and I deserve to be happy. And when we get outta here, I don't know how, but I am gonna find my way back to holly and Brady, and we are gonna start a new life. And I won't be sickened by looking at your face again.

[Heavy chords]

From the 5 A.M. light blinkers

[Soft music]

Theo: Ciara...

Ciara: I can't--I can't talk to you.

Theo: I-I'm so sorry. I swear, I never meant to hurt you.

Ciara: But you did.

Theo: I know. It was--it was stupid.

Ciara: And thoughtless.

Theo: Yes, that too.

Ciara: And insensitive.

Theo: Yes, it was all those things--I admit it. But Ciara, I just--I was trying to help you.

Ciara: Really? By lying and scheming and trying to find me the slimiest, most two-faced boyfriend on the planet? How is that helping me?

Theo: I didn't set out to lie or scheme, I swear. It wasn't like that.

Ciara: Of course, it was like that! And don't claim that it was some good deed, because that's exactly what it wasn't.

Theo: I'm not claiming anything. I just thought... I-I wanted you to be happy.

Ciara: Don't you have more respect for me... than to think that I'd be happy with some jerk like Wyatt? You know what, just don't answer that. Obviously, you don't, 'cause you think it'd be just great for me to fall in love with someone that's tricking me and laughing at me behind my back!

Theo: I didn't know he would do that.

Ciara: How--how would you not know? You were part of it. It was your idea. You started the whole thing!

Theo: I'm...I'm so sorry, I--

Ciara: You humiliated me, Theo.

Theo: Ciara, you're my best friend. I just--I wanted to see you happy.

Ciara: Would you just--would you just stop saying that, okay? Stop making me look like I'm some lost soul that was so desperate to find a boyfriend. Who couldn't possibly be okay on her own because she's too needy and lonely and weak.

Theo: I never thought that. You--you're the strongest person I know.

Ciara: Yeah, right.

Theo: I just--I really wanted you to have what me and Claire have.

Ciara: Oh, my god. Theo, that is, like... beyond insulting. How do you not get that?

Theo: I--I don't--I--

Ciara: Okay, think about it, Theo. How is me having a fake boyfriend that lies to my face... how is that anything like what you and Claire have? Did you really think that I could have a serious relationship with someone that is just using me? So I can give him money and write his papers for him?

Theo: No, of course not, I--

Ciara: Right. But what you did think was..."hey, this might not be a perfect solution, but it's better than nothing! And without my help, poor Ciara's gonna be single for her whole life because she's not interesting or pretty enough to attract a decent guy."

Theo: Ciara, you know that's not what I thought.

Ciara: No, Theo, I don't-- I don't know that. All I know is that... I feel embarrassed... [Crying] And just fed up! I feel sick to my stomach.

[Soft music]

Theo: Ciara, when you were... looking at all those guys on the site...none of them were good enough for you. They didn't appreciate how great you are, and that upset me. A lot. And once I started to get to know Wyatt, I just thought... he seemed like he might be the right guy.

Ciara: Yeah. Like the right guy would ever play this horrible trick on me... would ever go along with your sick little game. You still think he's the right guy, Theo?

Theo: Ciara, I wanted to tell you the truth so many times.

Ciara: Why didn't you?

Theo: Because...I saw how much you liked him, and... I thought that maybe somehow it would work out.

Ciara: And you would have just...sat back and watched? Even though you knew everything about him was a lie?

Theo: Ciara, the longer it dragged on, the harder it was for me to tell you, but I did tell you. I told you.

Ciara: Right. Oh, yeah, you did. After I made a big fool of myself. I should have known something was up. You were acting so weird around him like you didn't like him or something.

Theo: I don't like him. I don't like him. I saw him taking advantage of you, and I had to do something. Ciara, I really care about you. Please, you can't be mad at me.

Eli: Hey, you guys, check this out.

Lani: Looks like we got a match.

JJ: Oh, we're finally getting somewhere.

[Keyboard keys clicking]

[Suspenseful music]

Deimos: Were you able to get all the demands on my nephew's list?

Guy: Helicopter, cash--it's all set.

Deimos: Well, at least you did something right. Now, let's get this done!

JJ: We got our guy.

Sonny: Fantastic.

JJ: Name's guy mantzoukas. We're still looking into known associates, but according to his rap sheet, he specializes in burglary, larceny, assault, and murder.

Paul: Sonny, he's on the move.

Sonny: All right, thanks, JJ. I gotta go.

JJ: Wait. I'm coming to back you up.

Sonny: There's no time for that.

JJ: Sonny!

[Tense music]

Eric: Nicole, I understand how you feel, and I don't expect you to change your mind.

Nicole: Oh... I won't. Because just knowing Daniel is never coming back, that he's never gonna be a part of his daughter's life... is a constant reminder of you getting behind that wheel when you were drunk out of your mind, and you didn't give a damn about who you might kill when you got in that car and drove. Because otherwise...Daniel's children--Melanie, parker, holly--would still have their father!

Eric: Okay, Nicole, this conversation is not getting us anywhere.

Nicole: Okay, then where will we get somewhere, Eric?

Eric: It's called working together.

Nicole: We already tried that--epic fail.

[Dramatic chords]

Eric: I have an idea. But this one requires you to trust me. Can you please just try and do that?

Claire: So much for lunch. Not that anyone has an appetite anymore. You can go, you know.

Wyatt: No. I wanna wait for Ciara.

Claire: Okay, well, Ciara doesn't wanna see you, and I don't either.

Wyatt: It was a couple of little white lies. It's not that big a deal.

Claire: They're not that big of a deal? No, you manipulated her. You made her think that you're someone you're not.

Wyatt: But I like Ciara. I really do. And I like doing all the fun things she likes to do. Doesn't that count for something? I mean...how many guys are gonna watch "the notebook" and listen to freaking Martina Lambert?

Claire: No. You did it for yourself. Do you have any idea how hard it was for Ciara to trust another guy after chase? Look, I don't know if she told you about him, but... he was a horrible person, okay, who violated her in the most awful way imaginable. You know, and then you come along with your fake charm and your fake everything, you know? And you reel her in. And you wait just long enough so that she totally takes the bait, and then--bam! You know, bomb drop!

Wyatt: Mm. No. Your boyfriend's the one that dropped the bomb--not me. Theo and I had a deal. He sold me out.

Claire: Okay, well, obviously he realized you weren't good enough for her.

Wyatt: No. No, I think he was jealous. Because deep down, he's in love with Ciara... not you.

Ciara: Oh, I just--I feel like such an idiot.

Theo: Ciara, no.

Ciara: Well, I guess that saying's right-- "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is." [Sighs] And I thought I had finally met someone that I could see myself with. Everything about him was perfect. I was falling in love with him. But really, I was just...falling in love with you. I guess that's been my problem all along.

Theo: What do you mean?

Ciara: Seriously? You're gonna make me say it out loud?

Theo: Ciara, what are you-- what are you talking about?

Ciara: Come on, Theo! You know how I feel about you. The letter I wrote you?

Theo: Ciara, what--what letter?

Ciara: The one where I said that I still love you.

[Edgy music]

Sonny: 'Scuse me, do you speak English? I was looking for a bar close by. I didn't know if there was a bar in the hotel...like over here?

[Handcuffs clicking]

Guy: Hey!

Sonny: Guy mantzoukas. We know you're working for Deimos Kiriakis. Tell us what he's up to, or you're a dead man.

Nicole: I will never forgive you for what you did to Daniel, you bastard! I should have left you here to die--oh, I could kill you!

Eric: Nicole!

Nicole: No, I hate you so much!

Eric: Please, just stop!

Nicole: No, I'm not gonna stop!

Xander: Nicole--

Nicole: Let go of me--

Xander: Oof--

[Xander grunting]

Theo: Wait. You still love me?

Ciara: You can stop with the act, Theo. I know you read my letter.

Theo: It's not an act, Ciara. I don't know anything about a letter.

Ciara: I put it in your backpack like two weeks ago. How could you have not seen it?

Theo: I don't know. Maybe it got mixed up with my schoolwork or maybe I accidentally threw it out.

Ciara: Right. I'm sure that's what happened.

Theo: Ciara, I swear to god, I didn't see a letter.

Ciara: Okay, so then why were you just trying to avoid me?

Theo: Because I was embarrassed.

Ciara: You were embarrassed.

Theo: Yeah. After you walked in on me and Claire on the couch and everything.

Ciara: Oh, my god, that's such a lame excuse.

Theo: Ciara, it's not an excuse.

Ciara: Okay, look, Theo, I get it--you and Claire are together, okay? Yeah. It was hard for me at first. That's why I wrote you the letter. Because it's easier for me to put words on paper...and I thought it was gonna help me move on. And it did. And then I met Wyatt, and I thought everything was great.

[Soft piano]

Theo...I trusted him. Just like I trusted chase.

Theo: Ciara, I would never let...anyone ever do that to you again.

Ciara: I worked so hard... to get back to a place where I could trust people. And then I do...and everything just starts crashing down again. I feel like I'm back where I started.

Theo: No, you're not, you're--

Ciara: And it's worse now... because you were the one that did it. You were my best friend, Theo.

Theo: Were? Ciara--

Ciara: I don't know you anymore. [Sniffles]

Lani: I wish we knew what was going on with Paul and sonny.

Eli: I'm sure JJ will let us know as soon as he can. You want a water?

Lani: Sure.

Eli: Only one left. Here. Go ahead.

Eli: I insist.

[Soft music]

Lani: Um... look, I know it's none of my business and you don't have to talk about it if you don't want, but...how did things go with Gabi?

Eli: It's over.

Lani: What? Who decided that?

Eli: I did.

Lani: But I-I thought you were into her. I thought you were gonna tell her how you felt.

Eli: Yeah, well, I changed my mind, all right? And you know what? I don't wanna talk about it.

[Somber music]

Sonny: You can do this the easy way or the fun way--your choice. Talk, you son of a bitch!

JJ: Sonny, stop!

Guy: You know these guys? They jumped me--they should be locked the hell up!

[Tense music]

Eric: Get out of here, Nicole, run!

Milos: Same story, different day. Let him go.

[Thudding sounds]

Eric: Uhh!

[Thudding continues]

[Tense music]

[Eric groans, coughs]

Milos: You won't be needing this.

[Eric coughing]

Xander: Seems these two never...quite learn their lesson, do they? Come on.

Claire: Look, you can say whatever the hell you want, but I know exactly how Theo feels about me. I know he loves me.

Wyatt: Yeah? How do you know that?

Claire: I'm sorry--what kind of a question is that? He's my boyfriend. We're a couple!

Wyatt: Right. And because you're so amazing, he couldn't possibly have the hots for anyone else.

Claire: Yeah, no, he's not hot for anyone else because he's loyal to me. I make him happy!

Claire: Yes, I'm sure.

Wyatt: Sounds like someone's in denial.

Ciara: Maybe I am just damaged goods, and I don't deserve to be in love.

Eric: [Exhales] Well, it was a good idea. Hey... Nicole, what's wrong?

Nicole: Oh, my god, the-- the--the text.

Eric: What? W-what text?

Nicole: Well, when Xander dropped his phone, I saw a text.

Eric: Okay. So what did it say?

Nicole: "Finish the deal. I'll pick up Nicole tonight."

Eric: What deal? Who's picking you up? Who was it from?

Nicole: I don't know, I mean, this whole time I thought Xander was working alone.

Eric: So did I. You know, this whole thing is kind of really strange. I mean, why hasn't he gotten rid of me yet? Unless he's got a much bigger... bigger plan in mind.

Nicole: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, my god.

Eric: What?

Nicole: Well, I mean, the only reason we--we thought Xander was dead was because Deimos said he killed him. But what if it was a lie? What if Deimos let Xander escape?

Eric: You think that's what he did?

Nicole: I-I-I don't know. I don't know what to think. I mean, Xander and Deimos hate each other--I can't imagine them working together.

Eric: No, no, no, wait, wait, wait. Deimos--he went to Canada... so he could save you from Xander.

Nicole: What?

Eric: You were already gone. Deimos, he claimed that he went to Canada to convince you to come back to Salem. I don't know, I don't know, it's just...sonny thought the whole timeline was a little too convenient. Maybe this was deimos's plan all along to kinda go to...save you from Xander.

Nicole: Oh, my god. What is he gonna do to me?

[Suspenseful music]

[Door closes]

Claire: Where's Ciara?

Theo: The square.

Claire: She okay?

Theo: No.

Claire: Are you okay?

Theo: No.

Claire: Theo, I'm so sorry.

Theo: No one to blame but me.

Claire: Why didn't you tell me about Wyatt?

Theo: 'Cause it was a secret.

Claire: But you couldn't even tell me?

Theo: I really screwed up. I mean, what was I thinking? What if she never forgives me?

[Somber music]

[Door slams]

Ciara: [Sniffles] [Exhales]

[Beep]

[Line ringing]

Ciara: Hey, Shawn... I'm fine. But, uh, I have a favor to ask.

Paul: I'm glad JJ got there when he did. That could've gone south real fast.

Sonny: Oh, come on. We were doing just fine on our own. We are finally making progress here. If JJ gets that guy to talk, then adios, Deimos. How do you say that? What's the Greek word?

Paul: Uh... antio.

Sonny: Antio!

Paul: Antio.

Sonny: Antio! Right. Everything will finally fall in my lap...and I will take over titan. I will take control.

Paul: Yeah. I know how much you want that.

Sonny: I want it more than anything. Well...except for you.

Lani: We just wanna ask you one simple question, okay? That's it. What were you doing with Deimos Kiriakis?

JJ: You don't wanna talk? Well, that's fine with me, but how 'bout we let you in on a little secret? We know who you are. We know all about your rap sheet. It would be smart for you to cooperate. I'm guessing...might get a plea deal. Otherwise, you're looking at going away for a very, very long time, my friend.

[Tense music]

Eric: No, Deimos would not hurt you.

Nicole: You don't know what Deimos is capable of. He's a monster.

Eric: No. What would the point be? Deimos--if he wanted revenge, what would the whole point be of sending Xander to Canada to kidnap you? Why wouldn't he just do it himself?

Nicole: I guess, but...

Eric: Know what I think? I think that he sent Xander to kidnap you so he could ride in on his little horse and rescue you. Yeah, and then you would, like, come running in to him, and you would be all happy, and the two of you could just live happily ever after together.

Nicole: You're right. I mean, it all makes sense. As much as I despise you... Deimos is much worse. Oh, god, Eric, what am I gonna do?

[Intense musical buildup]

Xander: Yeah?

Deimos: Did you get my text?

Xander: I did. I just didn't get a chance to reply yet.

Deimos: Everything all right?

Xander: It is.

Deimos: Excellent. I'll be coming for Nicole tonight.

Xander: And Eric?

Deimos: He's a liability.

Xander: What do you want me to do with him?

Deimos: Nothing. I want the pleasure of taking care of him myself.
