Hope: Take a step back, Steve. You're telling me this young man is your son?Steve: My son with Ava.
Hope: And you're absolutely sure that he's yours?
Kayla: Yeah, we did a paternity test.
Steve: His name is Tripp Dalton. Ava's father forced her to give him up when he was born.
Hope: My God. I just--I can't even imagine at a shock this must be for both of you.
Steve: It's more of a shock for that poor boy. The hardest part was telling him his mother is dead.
Rafe: Hmm.
Hope: You didn't tell him how it happened, did you?
Steve: I carefully explained that the ISA deemed Ava a threat. Ordered me to take care of her.
Rafe: Can't imagine he took that well.
Steve: No, he didn't.
Kayla: We're hoping that he'll do some digging on his own and find out what Ava was really like.
Rafe: I wouldn't count on it.
[Dramatic music]
Tripp: You guys, thanks again for letting me crash here. I hope I haven't been too much of a pain.
Claire: Oh, my God, Tripp, are you kidding me? No, you are, like, the perfect roommate. You never leave the toilet seat up and you know how to use a coaster.
Tripp: Well, if I overstay my welcome, just say the word.
Claire: No, we already talked about this. You're fine.
Theo: Yeah, I mean, you can stay as long as you want.
Ciara: Yeah, and we're glad that you know who your dad is now.
Tripp: Yeah, yeah. It just sucks I never got to meet my mom though. Now I'll never get that chance.
[Door opens]
Brady: Hey.
Nicole: Hi.
Brady: For you.
Nicole: They're beautiful.
Brady: The kids asleep?
Nicole: Yes, I just put 'em down.
Brady: Good, good. Oh, hey, I got provolone instead of Swiss. Is that okay?
Nicole: Yeah, that's fine.
Brady: That's cool?
Nicole: That's totally fine.
Brady: Okay. A lot of good stuff here.
Nicole: What are these?
Brady: Those are brochures. The chamber of commerce was at the farmer's market handing those out, and the arboretum is amazing, apparently.
Nicole: Oh, sounds like fun.
Brady: Yeah, there are so many cool things to do. Who would have guessed it, right?
Nicole: Yeah.
Brady: Tate, he is actually going to love going fishing in a couple years. They have lakes all over the place.
Nicole: Brady--
Brady: The schools are great. I talked to this woman. Her son is in first grade. He loves it. He says it's ridiculously fun...
Nicole: Brady--
Brady: And the thing is about this place, everyone is so nice. There's not one mean person in this whole community, and the accent is hilarious.
Nicole: Brady, stop, please.
Brady: I'm like, "eh this, eh that," and all the--
Nicole: Brady--Brady, stop!
Brady: What's wrong? What's going on?
Nicole: [Exhales sharply] What's wrong is... you have to take Tate back to Salem.
Tripp: I don't get it. You know, everyone has all these great things to say about my dad, but-- your dad, but... I just... how could he have just taken someone's life? Especially someone he once loved?
Joey: I don't think he saw your mom that way. "Someone he once loved." I think he saw her as someone who was gonna destroy his family.
Claire: The thing is, I just, like--I think it's really complicated.
Ciara: Yeah, definitely. I mean, the ISA wanted her dead. They must have had some type of, like, intel on her.
Claire: Maybe she was a security threat.
Ciara: I'm sure she was. I mean, she brought down the plane that killed my grandpa Shawn. She kidnapped my mom, my dad, aunt Kayla. She even kidnapped your dad. Tripp, I know that this must be hard to hear, but she was not a good person, and she wasn't fully sane. I'm sorry. This all must be, like, really confusing for you.
Joey: Our dad did what he did because he had to to protect his family. That's it. At least try to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe if you answered his phone calls, you two could try to work through it.
[Soft dramatic music]
Brady: Go back to Salem? What--I mean, you're backtracking, Nicole. What are you thinking? What's going on?
Nicole: What I've thought all along. It's not right to uproot Tate like this.
Brady: We talked about this. We discussed the whole thing. It's fine.
Nicole: Yes, I know we did. I know that, but when I was putting him to sleep tonight, I couldn't help but think... what if something happens to you? Theresa's gone. You're all he has.
Brady: Nothing's gonna happen to me. I want you to stop worrying. Okay? What I do want you to help me with is these groceries.
Nicole: All right, listen to me. Listen, okay? If you go back to Salem now, then you can stick with your story about taking Tate on vacation, and no one will ever know that you were aiding and abetting a fugitive.
Brady: Nicole, look at me. Please look at me. Look at me. In my eyes--listen. We are staying here, the four of us. It's gonna be great. It'll be terrific. We're gonna make this work. Do you trust me?
Nicole: Yes. Yes, of course. I trust you. And I know your heart's in the right place, but Brady--
Brady: It is. No "buts." I don't wanna hear it. I want you to look at me and tell me we're gonna give this a shot, and we're gonna make it work. Can you please see it my way?
Nicole: Yes. Yes, of course.
Brady: Good.
Tripp: If I talk to our dad, it'll be on my terms, okay?
Joey: Absolutely.
Tripp: But first I need to do a little more research on my mom.
Joey: Well, if there's anything I can do.
Theo: Yeah, or any of us.
Tripp: Nah, nah, I'm cool.
Claire: All right, I'm seriously gonna pass out if I don't eat something. So who's down for pizza?
Ciara: Ooh, can we get it from the place in Horton square?
Claire: Yeah, as long as it has pepperoni and sausage, I do not care if it's from mars.
Ciara: Can we get a veggie one too?
Claire: Yeah, sure.
Ciara: Awesome.
Theo: I'm down for anything.
Joey: Theo and I can go grab it. I have to go get jade some chicken soup, anyway.
Theo: Okay, I'm gonna get my jacket.
Tripp: So, are you and jade getting back together?
Joey: What? No, I'm just getting her some soup, bro.
Tripp: Yeah.
Claire: Ah, come on. First thing, it's soup. The next thing you know, she's got you buying her an engagement ring.
Joey: Ha, real funny, Claire.
[Cell phone beeps]
Tripp: I've got a quick errand to run, but save me a slice, though, yeah?
[Door closes]
Joey: Guys, I have a huge favor I need to ask about Tripp.
Ciara: I think we know what it is.
Kayla: I think that Tripp just has this perfect image of Ava that he can't let go of.
Rafe: Well, yeah. And then to find out that his dad's the one that killed her? Look, I'm sorry, bud. I just--you gotta look at this from all sides. Right?
Steve: I've already done that, Rafe.
Rafe: Okay.
[Cell phone ringing]
Rafe: Excuse me. I gotta take this.
Hope: I'm sorry. He just doesn't want you to get your hopes up.
Steve: I'm not mad at Rafe. Just this damn situation. I mean, my God, having to tell my son that I took his mother's life. But what choice did I have? I sure as hell couldn't tell him the truth. [Sighs] God, if it ever got out that it was Joe, his brother...
Kayla: No, it is not going to. Because we are not gonna let it.
Brady: You gotta try this.
Nicole: Oh, oh, okay.
Brady: Try this cheese. Go ahead, just do it.
Nicole: [Chuckles]
Brady: Okay, that's 100% organic. That is no hormones, no preservatives. From the happiest cows in Canada. It's good stuff.
Nicole: Mm, it is. Okay, I really do like the four of us under the same roof.
Brady: See? It's nice. You're warming up to it. I like that.
Nicole: But, Brady...
Brady: Okay, you're gonna do a "but Brady" again? We talked about the "buts." I don't wanna hear those anymore. I don't wanna hear it. Right now, your job is to stop worrying. Your job is to embrace this new life you have with holly. Welcome to motherhood. Welcome to family life. It's so nice if you just let it happen. Can you please try to do that for me? You're having trouble, aren't you? All right, well... you will. You will let it in. 'Cause by the way... I am going to win you over. I will. One way or another.
Nicole: [Laughs] Give me that.
Joey: Look, I know you guys might think I had something to do with, you know, what happened to Ava. But I hope you can keep it to yourselves. The last thing I would want is for Tripp to find out.
Ciara: Don't worry. We're not gonna say anything.
Claire: No, of course, not.
Theo: Yo, you ready?
Joey: Yeah, let's roll.
Theo: Hey, where's my wallet?
Joey: Backpack.
Theo: Right.
[Soft dramatic music]
Claire: Get me some extra parmesan too, okay, baby?
Theo: Done.
Ciara: Let me know if you need more.
Theo: I got it.
Joey: We'll be back soon.
Claire: [Sighs]
[Door closes]
Claire: Hey, Ciara, look. I think there's something that we need to get out in the open.
Angelo: Tripp Dalton?
Tripp: You must be Angelo.
Angelo: Ava's cousin. But, you know, I always thought of her as, you know, my kid sister. And I can't believe you're standing here. You're supposed to be dead. At least that's what you're mother told me, God rest her soul.
Tripp: Yeah, well, here I am.
Angelo: You know, you have her eyes. You know, you look just like her when she was your age.
Tripp: Really?
Angelo: Just like her. Yeah, it's a shame you never got to meet her. So, Tripp... what can I do for you?
Tripp: I've been trying to learn more about my mom. But the stuff I keep hearing are from people that aren't exactly her biggest fans, so I was hoping you could help me out. Will you tell me the truth about my mother?
Nicole: Ugh, I really wish that we didn't have to do this dinner party tonight.
Brady: Well, we didn't have much of a choice. Hill and scooter decided to invite themselves, but we can work on our cover story.
Nicole: What if we screw it up? I mean, Hillary's a cop. She'll see right through our story a mile away.
Brady: She's on vacation, Nicole. She doesn't care. She's only worried about finding a trail to hike so she can get away from her math-geek husband who, apparently--all he thinks about is logarithms and algorithms, whatever the heck those terms are, and-- come on. It'll be fine.
Nicole: Okay, yeah, you're probably right.
Brady: I know I'm right because also, I've been researching chemical engineering in case scooter asks me 20 questions about it.
Nicole: Oh, so you're an expert now?
Brady: You're damn right I'm an expert. Watch, I'll prove it to you. Ask me anything you want about computational fluid dynamics. Go ahead.
Nicole: Oh, Brady, I don't know. [Chuckles nervously] I don't--
Brady: [Chuckles] It's fine. Look, they're harmless, albeit, slightly boring neighbors, and we'll just be boring as we can be and we'll fit right in and everything'll be fine.
[Knocks on door]
Brady: Showtime.
Nicole: Yeah. To do the best
Claire: [Sighs] Look, I know I said some pretty nasty things to you the other night, and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry.
Ciara: Yeah, don't worry about it.
Claire: I mean, here I was about to have sex with Theo for the very first time, and then you walked through the door and I think I was just really caught off guard, and I said some things in the moment that I really regret, and I hope that you can forgive me.
Ciara: Yeah, I'm fine, Claire. Don't worry about it. We're good.
Claire: Really?
Ciara: Mm-hmm.
Claire: Okay, cool. Good. Phew. And, you know, the more that I think about it, I'm actually kind of glad that you walked in on us.
Ciara: Why?
Claire: Well, it just forced us to slow it down. You know, 'cause Theo and I, we were just moving at warp speed, and ever since we moved in together, he's been hinting at the whole sex thing, and the other night, I guess we just couldn't keep our hands off of each other. [Chuckles] Anyway, um... you know, we just want our first time to be special, and doing it on the couch where Joey clips his toenails is just so not romantic.
Ciara: So nothing happened the other night?
Claire: Well, I mean the moment kind of went poof after you showed up. Not that it's your fault though at all 'cause you live here too, and that is exactly why Theo and I are gonna go someplace else for our first time. We want it to be a night that we never forget. Oh, my God, Ciara. Oh, I am so sorry. Really. Here I am going on and on about Theo and me when you're still into him.
Ciara: Oh, no, don't worry about it. It's fine. I know you guys are together, and I'm totally fine with that.
Claire: So, um... do you think that we can convince the guys to watch "superstore" while we eat?
Ciara: Actually, I forgot that there's something I have to do, so I'm gonna have to bail on pizza.
Claire: [Gasps] Really? Bummer. Okay, do you want me to save you some?
Ciara: Yeah, whatever. Thanks.
[Door closes]
[Soft dramatic music]
Claire: There's absolutely no way that you are going to steal my boyfriend.
Joey: So what's going on with Ciara?
Theo: What?
Joey: Those are some intense vibes back at the loft.
Theo: Oh, yeah, that. Um... I could have been nicer.
Joey: What's the deal?
Theo: All right, so the other night she walked in on me and Claire about to, uh...
Joey: Wait, about to... have sex? For real?
Theo: Yeah. I mean, we didn't go through with it. You know, it got really awkward and then Claire was really upset.
Joey: At you or the situation?
Theo: No, no, not me. No.
Joey: [Sighs] Listen, Theo. I know I'm gonna sound like my parents right here, but... if you're gonna have sex, make sure it's for the right reasons, okay? Don't let any woman just convince you to if you're not ready for it. It's a big deal, Theo. Don't rush it.
[Soft music]
Rafe: I totally stepped in it with Steve. You know I was just trying to help, right?
Hope: He knows that.
Rafe: Yeah?
Hope: A lot for him to take in right now.
Rafe: [Sighs] Yeah.
[Cell phone beeping]
[Dramatic music]
What is this? What are you--no, no, no, no. Spy software on here? What're you doing? Hope?
Hillary: Gorge creek trail up at riding mountain. Do you know that one? It's absolutely breathtaking.
Brady: Wait a minute, I've read about it. You actually feel like you're in a rain forest, right?
Hillary: Yes. Yes, we should go, all of us.
Scooter: But don't forget to tell him about the poison ivy, hon.
Hillary: Okay, we might actually have to leave scooter at home.
[All chuckle]
Brady: I'm always up for a good hike. I'm always up for a good meal too, so let's check out that pork roast that you guys brought over. I'll go to the kitchen.
Nicole: Oh, yeah, I'll help.
Brady: No, no, no, you stay. You stay with our guests.
Hillary: Yeah, and technically, I should be the one checking the roast, and I need a refill on the sangria. It's great.
Brady: Of course.
Nicole: [Clears throat] I'm gonna get a refill as well. Can I refresh yours?
Scooter: Oh, sure, sure.
Nicole: Okay, thanks.
Scooter: Great sangria, by the way. Just the right amount of sweet.
Nicole: [Chuckles nervously] Glad you like it.
Scooter: [Chuckles]
Nicole: Is everything okay, scooter?
Scooter: [Chuckles] I apologize if I'm staring. It's just... I am racking my brain trying to figure out where I've seen you before. It only takes a second for an everyday item
Claire: [Gasps]
Theo: Who's hungry?
Joey: Hello, hello.
Claire: Whoo, you're home!
Theo: Yep.
Claire: Hey.
Theo: Hey. Is that for me or the pizza?
Claire: Hmm? Both.
Theo: Where's Ciara?
Claire: I don't know. She said she had to go do something.
[Knocks on door]
Theo: Come on. Grab some pizza.
Joey: Hey, guys.
Kayla: Hi!
Steve: Hello.
Kayla: Hey, how are you?
Joey: You want some pizza?
Kayla: Oh, that sounds kind of nice.
Steve: None for me.
Theo: Hello.
Kayla: Hi.
Steve: Hey, Tripp here?
Joey: No, he left about an hour ago. Said he was running an errand. Did you call him?
Steve: I did. I called him. Like the rest of you kids, he doesn't answer his phone.
Joey: Mm.
Steve: Is it okay if we hang out until he comes back?
Joey: Yeah, sure.
Claire: Mm-hmm.
Kayla: What kind of errand do you think that Tripp had to run?
Steve: I don't know.
Tripp: So that's really all I know. From the way everyone talks, it's like she deserved to die.
Angelo: No. No, she didn't deserve to die. She had her faults. I mean, we all do... but she was a victim, you hear me? For years, her father drugged her. He messed her all up. He's a rotten son of a--
Tripp: Yeah, so my dad said. Guess he was pretty nasty, huh?
Angelo: I'm not gonna argue with that, but your pop... your pop, he was no saint either.
Tripp: What do you mean?
Angelo: Well, he sent her off the deep end. Yeah, he played with her emotions, he got her to let her guard down, and just when she needed him the most, he walked out on her.
Tripp: Do you think that's why she went after him and his family?
Angelo: Maybe. Sounds right. But, you know, I always wished your mother would have shown a little bit more self-control, but... [Chuckles] That's just not who she was. She lost two of the most important things in her life, so she had to get her revenge.
Tripp: What'd she lose?
Angelo: You... and your pop. I tried to help her. I tried to get her to get away from Steve, but she wouldn't listen. She kept pushing and pushing...
Tripp: Till the ISA ordered him to kill her.
Angelo: No, no. I don't believe that for a minute. Ava was not a terrorist. She was a little unstable, yes, but for the ISA to want her dead? I don't buy it. No. Your pop, he's the one. Don't forget that. He wanted her out of the way. The man cannot be trusted.
[Soft dramatic music]
Tripp: [Sighs] I have something for you. It's from your mother.
Nicole: [Chuckles nervously] I'm pretty sure I'd remember you if we'd met. I mean, we just moved here and I haven't really met anyone yet, so...
Scooter: Yeah, you're probably right. There's just something about you that's so familiar. I wish I could put my finger on it.
Nicole: Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure you're confusing me with someone else, so...
[Footsteps approaching]
Brady: You have got to see these photographs of this hike. We have to do this hike.
Hillary: And they don't even do it justice. Believe me.
Brady: It's amazing, and it's all in our backyard. It's all right there. It's pretty spectacular, isn't it, scooter?
Scooter: Yeah.
Hillary: It's not half as spectacular as the laptop he's always staring at.
Nicole: I'm gonna go get some more sangria.
Brady: Mm-hmm.
Hillary: So, how did you two meet exactly? I mean, you told us a little bit about your love story earlier, but we need more details. Right, scoot?
Scooter: Yeah, always up for details.
Brady: Mm, you want details. Well, it's a pretty funny story, actually. I was introduced to her by my grandfather, funny enough. They were actually friendly, and we became good buddies after that, and... I think when you have that foundation of friendship and trust, which in my opinion is probably the most important thing, everything else just kind of falls into place.
Hillary: Well, that is... that is beautiful, Freddie. I can just see how in love you two are.
Brady: It's that obvious? [Chuckles softly] Real cheese people know life is better with cheese in it.
Hope: There. You got me. Yeah. It's a bug. Okay? But it's for police business.
Rafe: Oh, "police business"? Don't give me that. Don't--do not even. 'Cause I know Raines has you shackled to that desk. What are you up to?
Hope: Hey, hi.
Rafe: What're you--
Hope: What a nice surprise. Sweetheart.
Rafe: Hope--
Ciara: Hi.
Hope: Sit down. Wanna join us?
Ciara: Am I interrupting?
Hope: No, you could never interrupt. We just ordered some nachos, but if you'd like to order something off the menu, I could get some--
[Cell phone ringing]
Ciara: Oh, well, I'm not hungry.
Rafe: Oh, look at that. It's Raines. Perfect. I'll ask him about that case you're on.
Hope: Do not go there. I'll fill you in later, okay?
Rafe: Yeah. I'm gonna hold you to that.
Ciara: [Scoffs] See? I was interrupting.
Hope: No.
Ciara: What're you guys fighting about?
Hope: We're not fighting. We are discussing.
Ciara: Hmm.
Hope: How about you? What's going on, huh? Why aren't you with your friends?
Ciara: I was just at the loft with them, and I left. I needed to get some space.
Hope: Did something happen with Theo? I mean, does this have to do with him?
Ciara: Uh... kind of. Maybe. Yes.
Hope: Ciara, did something happen?
Ciara: Well, yes and no. I wrote him a letter, and it was, like, an old-fashioned letter. Like, hand-written, and, like, on paper.
Hope: Uh-huh, yeah, I'm familiar with those items.
Ciara: Yeah, grandma Julie said--like, it was her idea. She thought that I should tell him how I feel, but not, like, in a creepy, like, stalker way. Just so I could be honest.
Hope: Okay.
Ciara: I told him that I don't wanna come in between him and Claire, but I also told him that I have feelings for him, and I thought that he should know because he's my friend. My best friend, and... that I would never want to lose that.
Hope: What did he say?
Ciara: Nothing. He has not said a word.
Hope: Oh.
Ciara: And now it's just awkward, and, like, he can't even look at me in the face.
Hope: That's not like Theo.
Ciara: Mom, what if I just ruined our friendship forever?
Hope: No, no, no, you're getting way ahead of yourself here. You and Theo are always going to be friends. Don't ever worry about that. Maybe he just needs some time to sort things out.
Ciara: I should have never written him that letter.
Hope: No, you did the right thing. Don't have any regrets. I'm proud of you.
Ciara: Thanks, Mom. [Sighs] I should go.
Hope: Yeah?
Ciara: Yeah.
Hope: Okay. Come here. Let me hug you. I love you.
Ciara: I love you too.
Hope: I hope it gets easier.
Ciara: It will.
Hope: Call me later?
Ciara: Yeah.
Hope: Okay.
Ciara: Bye, mom.
Hope: Bye, sweetheart.
Rafe: Ciara okay?
Hope: Oh, boys.
Rafe: Boys, huh?
Hope: Yeah, boys. You boys are so much trouble.
Rafe: Oh, okay.
Hope: You know that?
Rafe: We're trouble? Is that right, "we're trouble"? This coming from the lady who's got spy software on her phone. Who are you spying on and why?
Tripp: There must be some mistake. According to these documents, I'm--
Angelo: You just inherited the Vitali fortune. That's right.
Tripp: But I don't understand.
Angelo: Well, Ava was Martino's only child, you're her son. That makes you the main beneficiary.
Tripp: Yeah, yeah, but... these numbers. Have you looked at this? That's a lot of zeros.
Angelo: Well, look, it's set up as a trust. It'll come to you in payments, but, yeah. It looks like you just won the lottery, kid.
Tripp: [Exhales]
Angelo: [Chuckles softly] Kinda hard to comprehend, huh?
Tripp: I'll say.
Angelo: Now, I know exactly how you feel. I got my inheritance too.
Tripp: This is a lot of money. I mean, good thing it's not just one big payment. I'm not the kind of guy who should be trusted with a fortune.
Angelo: Well, all your mother would ask is that you don't take your ample allowance and blow it on booze and women, you hear me?
Tripp: Oh, no, no, of course not.
Angelo: Okay.
Tripp: To be honest, I'd exchange all this money just to have one day with my mom.
Angelo: Yeah. I'm sorry, kid. I wish I could bring her back, but, you know, I do have a little something that might help you get to know her better.
[Soft dramatic music]
Tripp: What are these?
Angelo: It's your mother. She recorded those when she was pregnant. I found it when I was sorting through her things. It's not as good as the real thing, but it might help you to get to know her better. Tripp, she's wasn't the monster people are saying she was. Look, I gotta get going. [Chuckles] You okay?
Tripp: [Clears throat]
Angelo: All right. I'll keep in touch. You need anything at all, you call me. All right?
[Dramatic music]
Kayla: How's jade doing?
Joey: She's been sleeping most of the day. Look, I need to tell you guys something and I don't want you to freak out.
Kayla: [Exhales] Comforting words a parent wants to hear.
Joey: [Sighs] Jade's not the only one who knows that I killed Ava.
Both: What?
Joey: Ciara and Claire know too.
Kayla: Joey?
Joey: Look, it just kind of happened, okay? They figured it out when jade and I left for la.
Steve: Back then? And you're just telling us now?
Kayla: Joey, the more people who know--
Joey: Look, it's okay. I talked to them, and they're not gonna say anything.
Steve: Oh, my God. I guess there's nothing we can do about it now, huh?
Joey: Dad, I'm sorry, okay. I'm--I know I'm the reason you're in this mess.
Steve: Don't worry about me. I'll be fine.
Joey: No, I feel for Tripp too, you know? Like, I'm the reason his mom's not around anymore.
Steve: Shh.
Joey: [Sighs] I feel like I took both his parents away.
Steve: Listen. I'll get through to Tripp.
Kayla: That's right. Your dad will.
Theo: Excuse me.
Steve: Uh... maybe we should head out, huh?
Kayla: Yeah.
Steve: Tell Tripp we'll catch up with him tomorrow, huh?
Kayla: Thanks for the pizza, and, Theo, see you later.
Theo: Bye.
Joey: I'm gonna go study.
Theo: All right.
Claire: Oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God!
Theo: What? What? What?
Claire: So you know how I've been submitting my music to, like, every single major record label?
Theo: Yeah.
Claire: I got a response.
Theo: No. No way!
Claire: I know, I know!
Theo: No way, no way!
Claire: I know!
Theo: Claire, Claire, Claire!
Claire: Baby, they're, like, legitimately interested.
Theo: Are you serious?
Claire: Yeah, yeah. This could be my big break. Oh, my God.
[Soft music]
Nicole: There we go, sweetheart. All done. Okay, give mommy a--
[Holly burps]
Nicole: Oh. [Chuckles] Yes, that's lovely, honey. That was a good one. Ugh. Oh, okay. All right, it's okay. It's okay. Oh, yeah. Now mommy has to clean herself up. Yeah. [Clears throat]
[Dramatic music]
Nicole: [Gasps] Oh, my God, Scooter. I didn't know you were there. I'm sorry, I--
Scooter: Now I know why you look so familiar. You're...misty circle. Right?
Claire: We need to celebrate.
Theo: Okay.
Claire: [Laughs softly]
Theo: Why don't we go to that new restaurant in the square.
Claire: Okay. Or maybe, we could go to the green mountain lodge. Finish what we started before Ciara interrupted us. What do you think?
Theo: I think that the restaurant's a better idea. You know, I just don't wanna rush into anything.
Claire: Okay, um--
[Cell phone beeps]
Theo: Hold on, hold on.
Claire: Yeah.
Theo: Sorry, that's my lab partner. I gotta call him back.

Claire: [Sighs]
[Cell phone beeps]
[Cell phone beeps]
Rafe: Really? Bugging the mansion?
Hope: Shh, shh.
Rafe: You think that that's the best way to get Deimos?
Hope: Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best idea I've ever had.
Rafe: Oh, well, that's good. Okay, you admitted you're wrong. That's rare.
Hope: I want that bastard back behind bars.
Rafe: But not at your expense. I mean-- hope, if he traces that bug back to you--
Hope: He's not gonna trace it back to me. No one is. But there is one minor problem.
Rafe: Oh, how minor?
Hope: Well, the reception is just a little sketchy, and it's not recording all the time.
Rafe: Mm-hmm.
Hope: I thought possibly, maybe you could check it out for me.
Rafe: [Chuckles wryly] You gotta be kidding me.
Hope: Come on. Don't be mad at-- don't be made at me. Are you mad at me?
Rafe: Yes, of course, I'm mad at you. For god's sake. But... it might be the only way to get Deimos right now.
Hope: That's right, handsome.
Rafe: Oh, see? You just look at me and you know I'm a sucker. You do this--a thing.
Hope: No.
Rafe: Yeah.
Hope: No, not at all.
Rafe: Yes, you're doing the--
Hope: No, come here.
Rafe: Oh, my God, don't.
Hope: No, come on.
Rafe: Oh, please... [Mutters] I can't... damn it.
Kayla: You know, staring at your phone isn't going to make Tripp call you any sooner.
Steve: Thanks, baby.
Kayla: It's gonna happen. You just have to hang in there.
[Soft dramatic music]
Steve: I believe you.
Kayla: Good. Let's go.
Ava: Hello, son.
Nicole: I'm sorry. Misty who?
Scooter: Circle. Misty circle. She's a, um...actress.
Nicole: Oh. I'm not an actress.
Scooter: Well, you're not anymore, but...back in the day? [Exhales] Let's just say you... entertained me on many a lonely night.
Nicole: Yeah, you must have me mistaken--
Scooter: The hellcat who can handle the whole team. And do I mean "handle."
Nicole: I don't know what you're talking about.
Scooter: "Locker room Lolita"? Come on. I know that was you. Why are you being so shy about it, hmm? You should be proud. They don't make movies like that anymore. That was a work of art, that film. One of my all-time favorites.
Nicole: You have the wrong person, Scooter. I am not her.
Hillary: Who does my husband think you are?
