Hope: Yeah. [Chuckles] I had to, uh, force ciara to get on the train to chicago to go visit her--

Rafe: She's still worried about you.

Hope: I know.

Rafe: You know. Okay.

Hope: But I feene.

Rafe: Oh.

Hope: I am fine.

Rafe: [Chuckles] Yeah.

Hope: Anyway, I... I, um, thought I'd fill my empty hours, uh, paying a few bills.

Rafe: Well, gee, don't let me stop you from that.

Hope: [Laughs] Well, I think there's an excellent chance that you could persuade me to put it off.

Rafe: Well, good. I know you like action movies, so how does a jason bourne film festival sound? Hmm?

Hope: Perfect.

Rafe: Great.

Hope: You know how I love my action movies.

Rafe: Yeah. Well, looks like it's gonna be a night of 'flix and chill.

Hope: [Laughs]

Rafe: What?

Hope: That's not exactly the term.

Rafe: Uh, okay, sorry. Hanging out and streaming movies?

Hope: Oh, come on. Seriously?

Rafe: Seriously what?

Hope: I love that little bit of innocence that's still-- seriously? You don't know what that really means?

Rafe: Of course I know what it means. I don't know what it means.

Hope: Mm.

[Laughs]

Rafe: Oh, my--

Hope: [Laughs]

Rafe: [Laughs] Are you-- okay, seriously?

Hope: Uh-huh, seriously.

Rafe: All right, hold on a second. I did not mean to imply that--

Hope: I know. I know.

Rafe: Okay.

Hope: But... I know your intentions are honorable.

Rafe: Yeah.

Hope: Mm.

Rafe: Absolutely.

Aiden: So I'm standing outside club tbd. I see justin and roman inside.

Aiden: They looked pretty grim.

André: Oh, my heart bleeds.

Aiden: What is this meeting about? And why aren't they having it at the police station or justin's office?

André: Now, my man at the police station, he tells me that roman was looking for justin since yesterday. So justin goes down to the police headquarters, but roman is tied up and cannot see him. So justin gets a little bit of nervous, but it was his idea to meet at the club tonight. That's why I said to you to follow through with this because I know you have your designs on justin's job.

Aiden: But you have no idea what this meeting is about?

André: Anyway, listen. I can't talk to you any longer because I have other businesses to take care of. I'll speak to you later. Bye.

Aiden: André.

Roman: Let me ask you. Do you remember the jimmy holman case? Armed robbery?

Justin: Uh, yeah. We had to let him go, right? Lack of evidence?

Roman: Yeah, we did. But we had him nailed until somebody got into the evidence room and stole our case.

Justin: Right. I remember that now.

Roman: Well, there's this guy fred dozer. Used to be on the job until he was fired for insubordination. He says he knows something about what happened.

Justin: What does he want in return?

Roman: Well, what do you think? He wants back on the force.

Justin: So maybe he's just gonna say what he thinks will get him reinstated.

Roman: Then he's taking a big chance. Because he swears he saw the whole thing and knows exactly who did it.

Lucas: Well, we wanted to see you in person to see if you heard anything from abigail. What, jj? Tell me.

Jj: Um, we couldn't trace her at all. But then--

Jennifer: But then chad got a tip about a woman matching abigail's description that boarded a plane in miami.

Adrienne: So you found her. You know where she is.

Jj: It was the plane that went down in the gulf of mexico.

Lucas: Oh, my God.

Jj: But it was just a tip. It wasn't a positive id.

Adrienne: No, no, no, no, no, no. That couldn't have been abigail. I'm sure of it.

Lucas: You know what, jenn? She's not gonna let you keep suffering this way. I'm sure. She's gonna get in touch with you soon.

Jennifer: No, you're right, if she was the old abigail. Before she was terrorized by ben, she would have done anything to let me know that she was okay. But the way she is now, I mean, she's scared. You know, she's seeing things that aren't even there. I just have this awful feeling that I'm never gonna hear from my daughter again.

Chad: Look, I understand we're gonna lose money, mr. Shin. Yes, I have it right in front of me. No, it's imperative that dimera enterprises is able to stand up to scrutiny. I can't explain why. Look, just sell off all of the holdings, okay? Thank you.

Harold: Sir, a messenger just delivered this for you.

Chad: Thanks, harold.

[Dramatic music]

Adrienne: Is there anything else that can be done?

Lucas: You could hire a private detective.

Jennifer: Can we just change the subject right now? I just-- maybe just talk about something else? I don't want to talk about abigail anymore.

Adrienne: Sure, sure.

Lucas: Okay, yeah.

Jennifer: So what's going on with you guys? When's the wedding?

Jj: [Clears throat] What?

Lucas: Uh, we just thought, with everything going on with abigail, we would put things on hold for a while.

Jennifer: No, you can't do that.

Lucas: Yes, we can, jenn. It's fine.

Jj: Lucas, I just think my mom means that, you know, we wouldn't mind having something happy to look forward to.

Jennifer: Yeah, I mean, anything can happen. By the time your wedding comes around, I know abigail will be back home.

Lucas: Right, yeah. I guess-- yeah, it's fine. When you put it that way, I understand.

Jennifer: Please, please.

Adrienne: Fine, fine. Wedding's on.

Jennifer: Okay.

Adrienne: Okay.

Jennifer: Well, that's good, because I have a friend who just opened a florist shop, and, um, I know that I have her card here somewhere.

Lucas: Messy.

Jennifer: I know. I'm sorry.

Adrienne: Oh, my gosh, jennifer.

Lucas: Got any makeup?

Jennifer: I know I seem completely scattered right now.

Lucas: What is this? What are you doing with this? Paul bellamy, attorney at law? This lawyer guy?

Jennifer: Yeah.

Lucas: This guy's a shark. He's got a huge reputation. What are you doing with this?

Jennifer: I guess I have to tell you the truth. I'm suing for custody of thomas.

Adrienne: You don't want chad to have him?

Jennifer: I know how much chad loves thomas, but I just feel like right now, he's neglecting him.

Lucas: You couldn't talk to chad about this, maybe help him out or something? You had to go this route?

Jennifer: He doesn't want my help. And if I am going to take a dimera to court, I need someone who's gonna be ruthless.

Adrienne: So you think it's gonna get ugly.

Jennifer: Well, I would like to avoid that, but I think chad is gonna fight me with everything that he has. I just want to do what's best for thomas right now, that's all, at least until abigail gets home and she's well again.

Chad: See, I think-- I think that, um--I think you made some kind of mistake. Well... no, the scanned photo of this driver's license, it says-- it says jen thomas, but it-- but it's a-- but it's a picture of abigail.

[Somber music]

Okay. So... so are you--are you sure that... that this jen thomas is the woman who got on that flight in miami?

All right. Okay, so then what do we do? What's--what's the next step?

[Sniffles] So what are you telling me, hmm? Are you telling me that my wife is dead?

[Cries]

Hope: Let's watch the one with the german girl first. I love that one.

Rafe: Well, you're the one calling the shots, kid.

Rafe: Yup.

Hope: Love that.

Rafe: I'll just open peanut brittle.

Hope: There's peanut brittle?

Rafe: Are you kidding me?

Hope: [Laughs] Is this the one from christmas?

Rafe: No, it is not the one from christmas. I went out to brookville to get it, thank you very much.

Hope: [Laughs] Nights don't get better than this.

Rafe: No.

Hope: So, uh, what's happening at the station? Has forensics found anything to link aiden and André to the bombing yet?

Rafe: No, not yet.

Hope: Yeah, I figured.

Rafe: Yeah. And I'm itching to take matters into my own hands, give aiden and André a little frontier justice.

Hope: You promised.

Rafe: I know. I'm gonna keep my promise, okay?

Hope: Okay, good.

Rafe: Okay.

Hope: Thank you.

Rafe: Can we not talk about them right now, seriously?

Hope: Okay.

Rafe: Let's have a little fun.

Hope: Okay.

Hope: I think-- think I remember what fun is.

[Dramatic music playing on tv] What?

Hope: Thank you for coming up with this idea. I honestly can't think of a better way to spend the evening. Right?

Rafe: Come here, then.

Hope: Okay. Wait a sec. Oh, my side.

Rafe: Oh, God.

Hope: Okay.

[Electricity crackles] Oh, my gosh.

Rafe: Are you kidding me?

Hope: [Chuckles] Do you maybe have a plan b?

[Soft music]

Justin: Are you sure we can trust this dozer guy? I mean, if he saw who did it, why didn't he say something at the time? Maybe he's just making this whole story up to get his job back.

Roman: Well, that could be, but I think it's worth checking out. I'm supposed to meet him at the mandalay cafe in half an hour.

Justin: Why don't you let me take that meeting?

Roman: Why?

Justin: I'm the da. I could threaten to prosecute him for... withholding information, see how he reacts. Obviously I don't have the authority to give him his job back, but I could promise to put in a good word.

Roman: You know what? Sounds like an idea. I'll go with you.

Justin: I think I might get more out of him if I do this alone, roman. If he refuses to talk to anyone but you, I'll call you.

Roman: Okay.

[Dramatic music]

Chad: It wasn't abby. Can't be.

[Glass shatters]

Jennifer: Chad. What? What is it? What's wrong? What? I'm sorry. I... I know how much you miss her. I do, and I know how-- how scary and frustrating it is because we can't find heR. But you can't do this. You can't go on like this.

Chad: You remember how I told you that there was a woman... matching abby's description that boarded that flight in miami?

[Sniffles] The one that, uh, crashed on the gulf coast?

Jennifer: Yeah, right. But you said they didn't have any proof of her and you didn't believe that it was her. Unless something has changed.

Chad: [Sniffles]

Jennifer: Oh, God! Oh, God, no!

Chad: I'm so sorry.

[Dramatic music]

Aiden: Officer dozer, right?

Dozer: It's mr. Dozer now.

Aiden: Right.

Dozer: And you're the shyster lawyer who just came back from the dead.

Aiden: Well, just call me lazarus. Look, I'm doing some legal for the salem pd. Roman brady wanted me to meet with you tonight. We'd like to make a deal for some information you say you have.

Dozer: I have it.

Aiden: Great. Tell you what. Why don't we go somewhere a little more private to discuss such a delicate matter, hmm?

Rafe: Aah!

Hope: [Laughs]

Rafe: Okay, so power's out on the whole block. I talked to one of your neighbors. Got some interesting neighbors, by the way. But the point is, she said she talked to the power company, and because everyone's been blasting their ac, generator blew, so they're working on it.

Hope: I'm sure it'll be back on soon.

Rafe: Right.

Hope: Yeah.

Rafe: Yeah.

Hope: So...

Rafe: So...

Hope: Um, what do you want to do till then?

Rafe: Well, we can't watch movies, obviously. And, uh, it's kind of hard to play cards in the candlelight, so... the one thing we can do in the candlelight...

Hope: Mm-hmm?

Rafe: Is dance.

Hope: Dance?

Rafe: Yeah, yeah, dance.

Hope: With what mu--

Rafe: With what music? Bam.

[Romantic music playing] Hmm?

Hope: Bam.

Rafe: Can you dance? Are you okay?

Hope: I can try.

Rafe: Okay.

Feeling any pain?

Hope: Actually, I was, um... just thinking that I feel kind of perfect.

Aiden: So, uh, just so you know, the department is willing to give you your old job back but only if this information you have pans out.

Dozer: It will. I saw what went down with my own two eyes.

Aiden: Great. Tell me what you saw.

Jennifer: There has to be some mistake.

Chad: That's the id that abby used to get through security.

Jennifer: No, it can't be.

Chad: Yes, it is.

Jennifer: I am not listening to any of this, and I am not giving up. Do you understand me? I am not.

Jj: I got your message. What's going on?

Jennifer: Chad got that tonight. And it's an id that a passenger used on that flight from miami.

Jj: It's abs. So what? So she got herself a fake id. Maybe--maybe she lost her wallet and someone used that id to get on the plane, you know? There's--there's plenty of explanations here. How do we know you got this from the airline? How do we know you're not making this up so the police will stop looking for her?

Chad: Why the hell would I do that?

Jj: 'Cause you're always trying to get to her first, chad!

Chad: You know what? She wouldn't have had to run if you people didn't want to put her in that state institution.

Jennifer: Please stop this!

Jj: This is not gonna work. I'm telling you that right now. I'm calling the airline.

Chad: I'm sorry.

[Crying]

[Sniffles]

Jennifer: Chad, do you really think that she's gone?

Chad: I don't want to think that, no, but, I mean, my guy said it, and I saw the picture, so...

Jennifer: Oh, God, I just keep thinking about how-- how scared and alone she must have felt just leaving-- leaving her family and leaving you and her baby. But if this is true, then... I'm never gonna hold her again, and I'm never gonna smell her perfume that jack bought her. Oh, goD. Oh, God, I'm never gonna get to say good-bye to my baby.

Chad: I'm sorry.

Jennifer: Oh, God!

[Sobbing]

Aiden: So the day the evidence went missing, the informant saw someone walking out of the evidence room with a box in his hands. Who was that someone? Justin kiriakis.

André: He has to prove it.

Aiden: Yes, well, he thought it a little strange, justin being in there, so something--something told him to take a picture.

André: Are you saying he hasn't used it until now?

Aiden: He didn't know who to show it to. And then he was fired from the police force.

André: So justin kiriakis steals evidence against somebody he didn't even know?

Aiden: Yes.

André: Why?

Aiden: I don't know, and right now, I don't even care, because I have what I need to bring justin down.

André: You'd better move quickly and go straight to the top.

[Dramatic music]

Jj: I talked to the airline. They said that security people have to be really careful about matching faces and ids. They can lose their jobs if they aren'T. I talked to one of the security people, and she said that she made sure to look at the woman presenting the id and that the woman looked just like the picture. I also contacted coast guard. They haven't recovered any bodies, and they don't-- you destroyed my sister's life!

Jennifer: Jj, please, don't do this.

Jj: Oh, come on, mom! He probably talked her into running away from shady hills! Maybe he even helped her! This is all on him!

Chad: I love your sister.

Jj: You killed my sister!

Jennifer: Please, please, don'T. Don't do this. Don'T. Don'T.

Hope: You know... I'm starting to wonder something.

Rafe: What?

Hope: If, when you suggested 'flix and chill, as you put it...

Rafe: Yeah.

Hope: Mm-hmm. You knew exactly what it meant. Didn't you?

Rafe: I did.

Hope: Mm-hmm, see?

[Laughs]

Justin: Come on, dozer. Where the hell are you?

Aiden: Thank you for meeting me on such short notice.

Abe: You said it was urgent.

Aiden: It is.

Abe: I wouldn't have shown up, except you claim it's a police matter.

Aiden: Abe, unfortunately it's not a claim. It's the truth.

Abe: Well?

Aiden: Look, I just thought, as mayor of this town, you should know that the salem police force is about to have a major scandal on its hands. Now, depending how this meeting goes, I can make it better or... much worse.

Jennifer: Okay, baby, baby, don't--don't do this. Do you hear me? You're gonna make this worse.

Jj: I can't stand this, mom.

Jennifer: Your sister wouldn't want you to do this. None of us can stand this. But look at me. Chad loves your sister the same way that we love her, and she loves chad. So this is not his fault. Don't blame him.

Jj: You know what? I don't buy it. And until somebody shows me proof, I'm not gonna believe my sister's never coming back.

Justin: Roman.

Roman: Justin. Thanks for coming in.

Justin: Yeah. If this is about dozer, he never showed up. If he's this unreliable, can we really trust anything he has to say?

Roman: Somebody else talked to dozer.

Justin: Really? Who?

Abe: I'll take over from here, roman.

Justin: Abe? What's going on?

Abe: I'll explain everything, but I'd rather do it in private. Let's go into the interrogation room.

[Dramatic music]

Jennifer: [Sobbing] Oh, God, I can't do this. Oh, God, I can't do this. I can't do this alone. I can't do this. Oh!

Jack: You don't have to. I'm here.

Jennifer: Oh, jack! Oh, my God, jack! Oh, I need you. Oh, my gosh, I need you so much. Oh, this is the worst. It is the worst.

Jack: It's as bad as it gets.

Jennifer: No. I didn't know how I was gonna get over you when I lost you, but... then I told--I told myself-- I told myself that this is as bad as it gets. It's never gonna get any worse. But I was wrong, jack.

[Sniffles]

Jack: Nobody-- nobody ever expects to outlive their child. But you're tough. And you will--you'll get through this too.

Jennifer: Can you tell me how, please?

Jack: I wish I could. I wish.

Jennifer: Oh, jack. You gave your life to save abigail, and now she'S... and if-- if this is true, if it's absolutely true, will you find her? Can you please find her and just--and just keep her with you and keep her with gram and grandpa? Please?

Jack: You know I will.

[Somber music]

André: So you're telling me that the letter was delivered to chad? Oh, you've already spoken to him? Oh, and to the girl's brother as well? Excellent. I knew they'd want confirmation from the airline. So you did say to them exactly what I told you to say?

[Laughs] Good. Good. Well, well, it's just a matter of time before they're all convinced that abigail dimera tragically died in that plane crash.

Chad: I love you so much, thomas.

[Sniffles] My sweet boy. You're the most important thing in the world to me.

Belle: Hey. Sorry to barge in while you're with thomas, but I was thinking about some other angles-- something happened. Chad, what's wrong?

Jennifer: [Crying] I feel so alone right now.

Jack: I'll try not to take that personally.

Jennifer: You're not real. You're not real. I'm making you up because I can't deal with this right now. But soon enough, I'm gonna have to deal with this on my own.

Jack: You got maggie, rest of the family. Jj's with you all the way. And now you have our grandson.

Jennifer: Yeah, that's true. And they're gonna be devastated, but they're not you. Only you would understand this, jack.

Jack: Wait a minute. Where are we going?

Jennifer: I just have this ache and this pain, and I just want to escape it.

Jack: Well, pain meds won't do that.

Jennifer: Oh, yeah, they will, because I'm in pain.

Jack: That's true. But they'll only manage to make a horrible situation much worse.

Jennifer: Okay. Well, guess what. I can't will myself through it, and I can't just get over it. I need something. I need something to make me feel numb, jack.

[Crying]

Jack: Then I'm out of here. I'm not gonna stay around here and watch the bravest girl I know self-destruct.

Jennifer: Okay, that's fine. 'Cause that's what you do anyway. You go. So just go.

[Somber music]

Chad: I, um-- I got these papers.

Belle: Papers from jennifer's lawyer?

Chad: It, um, proves that abby was on that flight.

Belle: Oh, no.

Oh, chad.

Chad: [Sobbing] I'm sorry.

Lucas: Hot.

Adrienne: I know, right?

Lucas: You know what we could do? We could do a scavenger hunt.

Adrienne: [Laughs] Will you stop?

Lucas: What? We could hide things everywhere and, like, send people to find them and--

Adrienne: Justin. What's wrong?

[Dramatic music]

André: So how did it go with mayor carver?

[Laughs]

[Engine revving, dramatic music on tv]

Hope: Pause it for a moment.

Rafe: Sure.

Hope: I just, um-- I just wanted to say that tonight... has really been perfect.

Rafe: Oh.

Hope: I can't remember the last time I felt this happy.

[Soft music]

[Banging on door]

Rafe: Of course.

Hope: It's roman.

Rafe: What?

Hope: [Clears throat]

Rafe: Oh, for God's sake.

Hope: Um...

[Banging on door] Roman.

Roman: Hey.

Hope: What are you doing here at this hour? What's going on? What happened? Is it caroline?

Roman: No. No, no, no.

Hope: What is it?

Roman: Mom's all right. Everything's all right there. Um... something's happened. I'm glad you're here. It affects you too.

Rafe: Okay, wait. Roman, what does?

Roman: [Exhales deeply] I've got some very, very unpleasant news. As of tonight, justin is no longer the da. He's been replaced by aiden jennings.

Hope: What?
