Provided By Suzanne
[Eerie music]Abigail: I know you and the crew have been putting in a lot of overtime and...I hope you tell them how much we really appreciate it.
Not a problem, ma'am. Main thing is keep everybody safe.
Abigail: Wow, looks like it's gonna be a big storm.
Chad: Yeah, well, "The Wall Street Journal" didn't get the half of it, so, why don't we set things straight for everybody? Thanks, Tobey. All right, you ready? Well, here's the quote: Yes, I will be in Zurich. Yes, I will be attending the DiMera enterprises board meeting, but my sole purpose will be to officially cut ties with the corporation. Mm-hmm. And my family. You got it. No, thank you. [Sighs] Sure about this?
Abigail: Mm-hmm.
Chad: You gonna be okay?
Abigail: Yes. Yeah, Ben is probably in south America by now.
Chad: Right.
Abigail: Be safe.
Chad: I love you.
Abigail: I love you too.
Chad: Make sure you lock this door behind me.
Abigail: I will.
[Car door closes]
Chad: Drive.
Abigail: [Humming "the itsy-bitsy spider."]
[Thomas whines]
Abigail: It's okay, Thomas. Everything's gonna be fine. There's nothing to be afraid of. [Continues humming lullaby]
[Door rattles]
[Wind howling]
[Suspenseful music]
[Eerie music]
Abigail: [Humming "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider."] [Continues to hum] [Stops humming] Hey.
JJ: Still hard to believe.
Abigail: What?
JJ: My sister's a mother... and I'm an uncle.
Abigail: Well, you don't act like it's hard to believe. You act like you love it.
JJ: I do. And I can promise you this, abs, I'm not gonna let anything happen to you or my nephew.
Abigail: Good to know. Thanks.
JJ: Are you still okay with this? The plan? We can always take Thomas back to mom's house, have mom--
Abigail: What? No. No, I'm not letting my baby out of my sight. Just because Ben escaped that psych hospital doesn't mean I'm gonna go running home to mommy.
JJ: Okay.
Abigail: I'm gonna deal with this. I'm gonna face my fears.
JJ: Got it. I hear you loud and clear. Good for you. You always did have more guts than I did.
[Thunder rumbles]
JJ: All right, I'm gonna check the house again. You're gonna be okay in here, right?
Abigail: Right.
JJ: Okay.
[Suspenseful music]
JJ: Damn hurricane Hannah out there.
[Thunder rumbling]
["Itsy-Bitsy Spider playing]
[Creaking]
[Thomas crying]
Abigail: Hi. Okay. Shh, shh, it's okay, Thomas. Come here. Aww, come here, my sweet boy. Oh! Oh, I know. I know. Okay, let me see. Oh, mommy's got you. Oh, it's okay. Yeah, clouds just bump their head in the sky. That's all. There is nothing to be afraid of.
[Thomas coos]
Abigail: Can I get you upstairs? Yeah, come on. Let me get you upstairs. Okay. Yeah.
[Thunder rumbling]
[Door opens]
[Thunder crashes]
[Dramatic music]
[Eerie music]
Abigail: [Exhales sharply] Oh, my God. Chad, you scared the life out of me.
Chad: I'm sorry. I-I didn't--
Abigail: How did you get back to the house so quickly? You sneaked back in.
Chad: I didn't mean to scare you.
Abigail: I thought you were Ben.
Chad: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Abigail: It's okay. It's okay. We're fine. I'm fine.
Chad: Okay.
Abigail: I'm fine. It's okay.
Chad: Okay, well, I did exactly what we planned. I, uh--I took the limo down to the front gate, got out, Jim sanders took my place, and they all took off.
Abigail: He was wearing the exact same clothes, right?
Chad: Yeah, you saw him. Remember? Same clothes, hair, build, everything. Much less attractive, but his own ticket to Zurich.
Abigail: And no one saw you?
Chad: No. Impossible. It was dark, I was in the gatehouse in less than ten seconds, and then I was in the tunnels.
Abigail: Okay. Great. Now all we have to do is hope that Ben... is reading the papers.
Chad: Well, it was planted in more than the papers. There's TV, radio, internet-- everybody picked it up. So, if he's zeroing in on us, then Ben knows I'm gone.
Abigail: And that I'm alone.
Chad: Your brother came in through the tunnels, so Ben never saw him arrive. If he makes his move, we got him.
Abigail: And this is finally over.
JJ: Hello, Chad. Welcome home.
Chad: Hey.
JJ: How was Zurich?
Chad: Very Swiss, thank you.
JJ: I checked upstairs-- both wings, plus the attic. We're all clear.
Abigail: Good. Okay. I'm gonna put Thomas to bed and make sure he's not hungry.
JJ: Let me walk you up.
Abigail: No, I'm fine. It's okay. I-I'm--really, it's okay. I'm fine. Thank you.
JJ: Yeah, she's fine.
Chad: After what happened in Chicago, it's a wonder she's even able to function.
JJ: Yeah. Going into the hotel room and cutting up her nightgown. Sick. Sick.
Chad: Well, hey, I appreciate you being here tonight. Thank you.
JJ: Well, I'm glad I can do it.
Chad: Yup.
JJ: Let's just hope we catch this son of a bitch and lock him away for good. Abigail's suffered enough.
Abigail: Okay, little man, you are all set. Snuggly. Oh... yes! Oh, that's so much better, huh? Yeah. Now, if I'm not mistaken, I think that somebody is hungry. Huh? Yeah, what do you think, Thomas? Okay. Oh, hi. Hi. You hungry? Yeah.
[Thunder crashes]
[Wind whistling]
Abigail: Quite a storm out there. Huh, Tommy?
[Branches crack]
[Thomas coos]
Abigail: It's okay. Let's not--let's not worry about that now. We are gonna be fine. Yeah. [Humming "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider."]
[Thomas coos]
Abigail: [Continues humming]
[Thunder crashes]
Abigail: [Stops humming]
[Branch cracks]
Abigail: You know, Thomas, it's okay because no storm ever lasts forever. [Humming "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider."] [Stops humming]
[Wind whistling]
[Thunder crashes]
Abigail: [Scoffs] Thomas, look. Aw, you know, a little bit of moon just came out.
[Thunder crashes]
Abigail: Maybe this will go away.
[Suspenseful music]
Abigail: Maybe it won't even rain.
[Thunder rumbling]
Chad: How Ben managed to escape that psych ward still just blows my mind.
JJ: Yeah, I don't get it, either. The place is classified as maximum security. It's probably locked down tighter than most prisons.
Chad: And yet he's out. Somewhere ready to pounce.
JJ: Let's hope he walks into your trap.
Chad: Yeah, a plan you don't have much faith in.
JJ: Well, it's more than anybody else has going on.
Chad: Just so you know, I would do anything for Abby and Thomas. Absolutely anything.
JJ: Well, you know, maybe it won't come to that, you know? Maybe...Ben will just decide he's some kind of super hero and jump off of a really tall building. It'd be nice.
Chad: Mm-hmm.
JJ: Just...still.
Chad: What?
JJ: It's this damn house, man. Just to think about all the stuff that has gone down here. Must have been murder, torture, God knows. Abigail shouldn't have to be going through what she's going through and have to live in a place like this.
Chad: Yeah, yeah. I know, there's been a lot of rotten stuff that has happened here.
JJ: You think?
Chad: But in the end this-- it's just a house. The people who--who used to live here do not live here anymore and I've talked to Abby about it plenty and she wants to stay here. We are gonna make this a house of love with--with our children running through the halls, laughing and playing and making-- it's gonna be different.
JJ: Okay. Well, if you say so. For me, this place is... just creepy.
[Loud crash]
[Eerie music]
Chad: Just the wind.
JJ: Better check, though.
[Suspenseful music]
[Dramatic music]
Abigail: I should close that. I'm gonna close that window right after I put you in your crib, Thomas. Okay. It's okay. Mama's just gonna close the window. Oh! [Gasps] Chad?
[Dramatic music]
[Phone rings]
Abigail: Hello?
[Heavy breathing on phone]
[Phone beeps]
[Phone rings]
Abigail: Will you please stop doing this?
Jennifer: Abigail? Are you okay?
Abigail: Mom?
Jennifer: Hi, honey. I called a few seconds ago, but the connection was really bad, so I just hung up and tried again. Plus, if I sound like I'm really out of breath, it's because I just ran all the way up the stairs to close the window in your room. I just didn't want everything to get all wet and-- I mean, you probably didn't even realize you left it open. Anyway, all that to say, I, uh... packed up everything else in your room. So if you want to come by in the morning and get it, uh... you can do that. And... it just seemed strange.
Abigail: What did?
Jennifer: Just, uh, your room. [Chuckles] And... knowing that soon it's gonna be like a tomb and every time I... walk down the hallway I'm gonna realize that my daughter is gone.
Abigail: Mom, are you okay?
[Thunder rumbles]
Jennifer: Oh, sure. Honey, you know me. I'm always so good. And don't get me wrong, I'm happy if you're happy. I know you're gonna love being over there. And say hi to Chad for me. Okay?
Abigail: I will.
Jennifer: Oh, baby, sorry, one more thing. Um, you know the rattle that you wanted for Thomas?
Abigail: Yeah. Yeah, the one that you saved for me? Yeah, you still have it?
Jennifer: Yes, uh, you took it, right? Because it was on the dresser this afternoon and it's gone now.
[Suspenseful music]
Abigail: No, Mom. No, I didn't take it. I--no, I--
[Thunder crashes]
[Eerie music]
[Thomas crying]
Abigail: Okay. Shh. Shh. It's okay, Thomas. It's okay. Everything's gonna be fine. Everything's gonna be just fine. It's okay. It's just a...power failure. That's all. I'm gonna find us a flashlight. [Sighs] Everything's fine. Ben...is not here. Ben did not go into my room at home. Everything's fine. [Whispers] Everything-- [Shouts] Chad? JJ? They're probably just doing another check of the house, honey. Once I get the flashlight... come on, flashlight. Chad? JJ? What was that?
[Thunder crashes]
Abigail: [Panting]
[Thunder rumbles]
Abigail: [Sighs] Oh, man. Get a grip, Abigail. [Exhales sharply] Just get a grip. It's fine. Everything's fine.
[Thunder crashes]
Abigail: [Sighs] Thomas.
[Dramatic music]
[Suspenseful music]
Abigail: [Shouts] I'm not afraid of you! You will never, ever get me or my son again! Ever! Where are you? Where are you now, Ben? Ben, where are you? Answer me!
JJ: Abigail. Whoa! It's okay. It--it's me.
Abigail: Oh, JJ! Oh, my God!
JJ: What's going on? I heard you yelling.
Abigail: Oh, JJ, I'm so--
JJ: Come on.
Abigail: Oh, my God. I could've killed you.
JJ: Yeah, you're swinging for the bleachers there.
Abigail: Oh, my God.
JJ: Look, it's okay. It's--
Abigail: Oh, my God, I am--
JJ: I mean, I get that you-- you're scared, but it's just a blackout. It's a blackout.
Abigail: I'm so sorry.
JJ: Now, what's going on? Come inside.
Abigail: I'm so sorry. I--
JJ: What's going on outside? Why were these doors open?
Chad: Abby!
Abigail: Chad! Oh, my God. I was outside 'cause I thought I saw him, so I ran outside. I heard something and I ran out. [Crying] And I was just waiting and I almost killed JJ.
JJ: Abigail, it's okay. Relax. I should've said something before I came in the room. It's my fault and I'm sorry.
Abigail: Thomas.
Chad: Oh, hey, Abby! Abby, Abby, Abby. See?
Abigail: Oh, he's sleeping.
Chad: He's just fine.
[Abigail exhales sharply]
Chad: Breathe.
Abigail: Oh, Thomas.
JJ: Look, my bad, man. I should've gone upstairs and told her what we were doing and--or just let you go alone.
Abigail: What?
Chad: When the power went out JJ and I went downstairs to check the circuit breakers, but it--everything's fine. Right? It was just a tree that took out some--some lines, or lightening that hit a transformer.
JJ: While we were down there, we got some lights. I dropped one of them, but...
Chad: That was probably the noise you heard.
JJ: Check this out. It's pretty cool, right?
Chad: Abby... hey, look at me. Look at me. Look at me! We're fine. Okay? Yeah, the power went out, but that's nothing we can't handle. Security team radioed in, all clear. We're fine. JJ found a ladder propped up against the house, but the gardener left it when he was trimming the tree outside Thomas' window. [Whispers] Hey. You feeling better? Look, we have plenty of light. It's kind of romantic even. It's gonna be okay.
Abigail: No. I saw him.
Chad: Saw what?
Abigail: I saw him.
JJ: Seriously?
Abigail: And he was standing right there. I saw him. He was standing right there!
Chad: Security one, this is home!
Abigail: I went outside.
Chad: We need eyes in the garden.
[Suspenseful music]
Chad: Security one, this is home! Barry, respond! We need eyes in the garden!
[Static on radio]
Chad: Okay, it's fine, you know what?
[Abigail crying]
Chad: No, no, no, no, no. It's just the storm. It's just the storm.
[Abigail sobbing]
Chad: Okay? We're gonna try again in a few minutes. It's gonna be fine. We're fine.
JJ: I'll check it myself.
[Gun cocks]
[Thunder rumbles]
[Door closes]
Chad: You know, it hasn't been that long since we've talked to security and they had nothing suspicious to report then.
Abigail: Hmm. What about the ladder?
Chad: I told you. The gardener left it there when he was trimming the tree outside Thomas' window.
Abigail: Who told you that?
Chad: Barry Klein, the head of security.
Abigail: Oh, Barry. [Scoffs] Well, what if Barry just told you that to get you off his back, Chad? I mean, a ladder could be used to get into the nursery!
Chad: Okay, you know what? We're gonna--JJ's out there checking it out right now. We'll wait for him to get back. What?!
[Suspenseful music]
Abigail: Are you telling me everything?
[Chad and Abigail's muffled argument]
JJ: It's not raining that hard, but you sure get wet in a hurry.
Abigail: What'd you find, JJ?
JJ: Abigail, I-I didn't-- I didn't find anything. I even went to the-- I looked good too. I went to the guard down at the gate and... he hasn't seen anything.
Chad: Did you ask about the radios?
JJ: His is down too. Must be the storm.
Abigail: Well, there must've been footprints or something. I mean, they obviously saw footprints. Right?
JJ: No, Abigail, I-- I didn't see anything. Even where the dirt meets the side... I didn't see any footprints. Well, then, they washed away.
Chad: It's not raining that hard.
JJ: What's going on?
Abigail: Are you both lying to me? Hmm?
Chad: No, what'd you--
Abigail: Are you? Are you lying to me? Oh, please, don't act so shocked! Really? You lied to me before. You told me that Ben was in Louisiana when you knew that he was right here in Salem. Didn't you? So, if you're not telling me something about Ben and being on the grounds here, I'm gonna find out. I need to know!
Chad: Abby, nobody is lying to you.
JJ: Exactly. We wou-- [Sighs] Okay, we did lie to you that one time, but--
[Abigail scoffs]
Chad: And that's on me and I told you that.
Abigail: [Sighs] I saw him. I know I saw him. I'm not going crazy and... I am not losing my mind!
Chad: And nobody says that you are. Nobody says that you are. I believe you.
Abigail: I'm not losing my mind.
JJ: He believes you and me, too, 100%. We know the guy has been stalking you. But what about Chicago?
Chad: Chicago. You didn't imagine that. You didn't imagine the nightgown.
[Dramatic music]
Abigail: [Whispers] But what if I did? What if I-- I had the nightgown on the floor, though, and the maid came in, or something, and she was vacuuming and she got it stuck in the vacuum, and then I just it in the closet where--
Chad: Okay.
Abigail: It was me.
Chad: Honey...
Abigail: I don't know. What if it was?
Chad: Honey, you need to stop doubting yourself. You need to calm down.
JJ: Abs, you need to keep it in perspective. Okay, we just set the trap and we're expecting a move tonight. So, listen, it is not weird at all to start--you know, seeing things in the shadows. It's--
Abigail: JJ... he wasn't in the shadows.
Chad: Okay, you know what? Let's just--
Abigail: He wasn't. He wasn't in the shadows.
Chad: Stop. Shh. Thomas.
Abigail: I know he wasn't.
Chad: Let's just all take a breath. Calm down. Okay?
[Abigail exhales sharply]
Chad: Hey, come here. Calm down.
Abigail: I know I saw him.
Chad: I'll get you some tea.
Abigail: Mm-hmm. Thank you. I--stay calm.
JJ: I'm all wet right now, so...I can't hug you, but you need to listen to me. Okay? If we keep cool, we're gonna be just fine. If Ben shows up, we're gonna take him down. He's not gonna hurt you again.
Abigail: Yeah, you're right. He is not gonna hurt me again. You are right, JJ.
[Dramatic music]
[Thunder rumbles]
[Dramatic music]
JJ: I heard you humming that little song when you were holding him.
Abigail: "Itsy-bitsy spider."
JJ: Yeah. It reminded me of all the times you used to sing to me.
Abigail: You remember that? You remember that? God, that was so far back.
JJ: Yeah. Yeah, but I do. Um, it was--it was a dark, rainy night. Sort of like a night like tonight. But I was in my room all alone... and I was scared and I-I-- I was convinced that every noise a monster was gonna come and get me. And...you came in my room. You must have heard me crying or something. And you picked me up, you wrapped your arms around me... and you started singing that song.
Abigail: I can't believe you remember that. God, you must've been like-- you were like four.
JJ: Yeah, I was about that age. You were my big sister. You could do anything. I mean, yeah, you couldn't sing all that well, and you have this way of messing up the lyrics...
Abigail: Thank you.
JJ: But it's just all the warmth and the confidence... always made me feel safe again.
Abigail: Thank you. [Sighs] I'm so glad you remember that. Thank you for telling me that. I know it was also... part of your way to keep me calm, so, thank you.
JJ: Well...a little, I just... I really wanted to tell you that.
Abigail: It's so weird. When I think about it, you know? It's like this is... supposed to be the time of my life. I'm married and I have a beautiful baby boy. And I--I'm so freaked out because there's some psycho out there stalking me. Probably ready to kill me and take my son.
JJ... I know I saw him. I did.
JJ: Okay.
Abigail: You believe me, right? I mean, you believe that he's planning something?
JJ: It's not my call, sis. All I care about is protecting you and Thomas. And I-I don't even want to try to get in that bastard's head.
Abigail: Yeah, but that's the thing. We can't. Somehow... he's gotten inside mine.
[Radio static]
Security one to home.
[Radio static]
JJ: Security, this is home.
We have a possible sighting. Southwest perimeter.
JJ: On my way. Abigail, I just want you to wait here, okay?
Abigail: Okay.
JJ: Right here.
Abigail: Yeah.
JJ: Chad's gonna be back in a second.
Abigail: Okay.
[Gun cocks]
[Door closes]
[Suspenseful music]
[Thunder rumbles]
Abigail: Hey, Thomas. Hi.
[Thomas cries]
Abigail: Shh, shh, shh. It's okay. Daddy will be back. He just went to get Mommy some tea.
[Dramatic music]
[Drawer slams shut]
Chad: Abby, what the hell are you doing?
Abigail: I saw him. I saw him. He went right through that door. I saw him. I saw him!
Chad: Okay, stay in the living room and tell JJ what's going on.
Abigail: JJ's--
["The Itsy-Bitsy Spider" plays on mobile]
[Dramatic music]
Ben: Hello, Abigail.
