Victor: Oh, sonny. To what do I owe the pleasure?
Sonny: I need money.
Victor: For the new club?
Sonny: It's gonna cost another $200,000 to comply with the city code. I didn't foresee it, but now... I'm in a jam.
Victor: Well, I feel for you, sonny. I really do. But I'm not going to be the one to bail you out.
Theresa: Okay, baby. Let's see your fast ball. What are you doing here? Get away from me!
Brady: Can't do that. We're connected. We'll always have that connection.
Abe: Hey, hey, hey. Nicole?
Nicole: Oh. Abe. Chilly enough for ya? Anyway, have a great day.
Abe: Hey, whoa, whoa. Hold on a minute. I know you called 911 earlier. Then you hung up abruptly. Did something happen?
Nicole: Yes. But not to me, to Melanie.
Melanie: Ice this so you don't get a fat lip.
Brady: Yeah, you hope.
Melanie: I am still a trained nurse.
Brady: Right.
Melanie: And thank you for not being mad. You're not, right?
Daniel: Maybe he isn't.
Melanie: Hey, dad.
Brady: Uh...look, I, um. I can ice my own lips. So I'm gonna take off.
Daniel: No, don't. No, you could have been seriously injured because of my daughter. I'd like you to stick around and hear what I have to say.
Eric: I don't believe it.
Serena: I don't either. I have imagined this so many times. Now it's real.
Tad: Oh, I thought you had a big date with Jordan Ridgeway.
Chad: I did and now it's over.
Tad: Already?
Chad: She was tired. She said she had a long day.
Tad: It's like...not even dark out. Either they're working people like slave drivers over at the hospital, or somebody's losing his touch.
Chad: Hmm, actually, I think I'm playing it just right.
[Knock at door]
Paul: Dr. Evans.
Marlena: Yes.
Paul: What are you doing here?
Marlena: Well, I understand you're gonna be staying in Salem for your physical therapy.
Paul: Right.
Marlena: So I thought maybe if you had changed your mind, you might be looking for someone to talk to.
Paul: You know... there is something that I'd like to talk to you about.
Sonny: I can't believe you're gonna hang me out to dry. Uncle, you--you said you would help me.
Victor: And I will. But pouring $200,000 in a rat hole isn't going to help anyone.
Sonny: It's not a rat hole. It's a great property and an amazing location.
Victor: I already told you, sonny, I've been tracking this train wreck from the beginning. You're being played, sonny.
Sonny: Great. So I'm not just having money trouble, but I'm also stupid?
Victor: You're a Kiriakis, so you can't be stupid. But what you are is desperate. And I can't quite figure out why.
Daniel: Maggie has been in your corner since day one, and she has given you every opportunity to tell her what your life has been since you left Salem. And so did I. So did I, and you stood there-- you stood there and you lied to our faces? Brady, does she talk to you?
Brady: No.
Daniel: So he took on some gorilla from a casino without even knowing why.
Melanie: Okay, but he's okay.
Daniel: Melanie. If Nicole and Brady hadn't happen to see you with that goon, would I have even known about this?
Nicole: There's not gonna be anymore trouble. Okay, I promise--the casino, the people that--the--the casino, they have all the money that they're supposed to have, and I'm not gonna--I'm sorry. I'm sorry, can we please just drop all of this, please? Unless there's more?
Daniel: Yeah. Running away from those casino Marshalls, was that the only reason you came home?
Eric: Serena.
Serena: Yes, it's me. I know I probably look different than I did when we were riding around in that pickup truck in Africa.
Eric: You look...great.
Serena: It's been a long time. I never stopped thinking about you.
Eric: All those...letters. You wrote, and the emails. I still have them.
Serena: I have yours too. Sorry I never got to see you in the collar.
Eric: It was a pretty rough year. But I do appreciate all your support. But, um...
Serena: What?
Eric: I--weren't you living in Europe? I mean, why are you here?
Abe: Well, you know, I had no idea that Melanie was back.
Nicole: Oh, oh, she's back all right. I mean, but don't worry. She's--she's not in trouble.
Abe: Didn't you just say that--
Nicole: I--yeah, I--I... I dialed 911, but I misunderstood the situation. That's why I hung up.
Abe: Okay. Well, I hope that having Melanie back will lift Daniel's spirits.
Nicole: You think his spirits need lifting?
Abe: It's too bad about him and Jennifer. They seemed so good together. I guess you don't think so.
Nicole: Is that your way of saying that's my fault too?
Melanie: I came back because I missed you.
Daniel: And that's what you said, but--
[Knock at door]
Melanie: Dad, come on.
Daniel: Oh, my goodness! There he is! Yeah, you have fun with your mom? Thank you for bringing him back.
Maggie: Oh, I told you, I had to go to Chicago anyway. And Parker and I, we had a nice chat all the way home, didn't we?
Daniel: He's a chatty one. Come on in.
Maggie: Oh, hi. What happened to you?
Brady: Uh. Don't worry, it wasn't a bar fight.
Maggie: Oh, good.
Melanie: Who is this handsome guy?
Daniel: This little guy is your little brother.
Melanie: Get out of here. My little brother's a baby.
Daniel: Well, it's been awhile since you've seen him.
Melanie: Hey. You remember me? Yeah? Little bit? I helped your mom bring you into this world. I look a little different, obviously, than I did on the, uh, computer. But I--I got you that Manchester united shirt. And the, um, the sunglasses from Gstaad. Do you think you could give me a hug? 'Cause your big sister could use one right now. Okay. Wow. I missed you.
[Knock at door]
Theresa: What do you want?
Anne: Well, that's the mood you're in, I suppose I could drink this $37 bottle of Malbec all by myself.
Theresa: No, hey, hey, it's fine, okay, okay. Just come in.
Anne: [Laughing] All right. I figure one of the many upsides to you not being pregnant is you can drink again, right?
Theresa: Oh, wow. Wait, let me think about that. Brady's millions or a bottle of wine?
Anne: All right, well, I was just trying to cheer you up. I guess it didn't work.
Theresa: No, uh. Look, no. I just...I took a nap and I had really weird dreams, okay?
Anne: Oh, about what? Not that I need to ask.
Theresa: Brady. God--it just makes me so mad.
Anne: Well, too bad we can't control our dreams, right, honey?
Theresa: Well, I can control my life. And I am definitely moving on.
Anne: Mm-hmm.
Marlena: All right. Would you like to talk now or make an appointment and come to the office?
Paul: Oh, I'd like to talk now. If that's all right.
Marlena: Oh, sure. It sounds like it might be pressing.
Paul: Oh, it is.
Marlena: Okay. What do you want to talk about?
Paul: Insanity.
Sonny: Why do I want to open this club so much?
Victor: Right.
Sonny: Because if it's successful, it'll be an exciting business to own.
Victor: You already own a successful business.
Sonny: Successful. And--and boring.
Victor: Unlike what will is doing out there in the land of dreams and movie stars.
Sonny: What?
Victor: High-powered producers, writing screenplays.
Sonny: That has nothing to do with anything.
Victor: Sonny, if you feel the need to impress will, there are better ways of doing it than losing your shirt. Now I asked you before how much you owe Chad DiMera and this time, I want an answer.
Sonny: I am telling you, Chad is not the problem. He's not a problem. If he was, he wouldn't agree to--he already upped my shares. He--he gave me more profit.
Victor: Why would he do that?
Sonny: Because he knows I'm putting in the heavy lifting. I'm getting the club ready. So he's giving me a bigger share of the profits, and he also set up a fund with extra money.
Victor: Did you sign that agreement? I'd like to see it.
Sonny: Chad's my friend, uncle vic. Everything was going great. I just didn't expect to get blown out of the water with the building inspector. So--
Victor: Did you have a lawyer look at this before you signed it?
Sonny: No. What lawyer's gonna have a problem with me getting bigger share of the profits?
Victor: Well, you might have a problem with this section here on liability.
Tad: Good thing Ben's not working. I don't think he'd like hearing how you're playing it right with his sister.
Chad: Yeah, well he should probably keep his temper under control.
Tad: Funny, I've never had that problem with him.
Chad: Well, you're not his boss.
Tad: He's--he's a good guy.
Chad: Oh, yeah? Yeah, he's a saint.
Tad: Okay, are you on his case because he punched you that one time, or is it because he's with Abigail?
Chad: Hey, look, I'm not on anybody's case. I have no reason to be. Everything is going my way.
Serena: What I'm doing here is a long story.
Eric: I've got time.
Serena: When I saw your address was a pub, I thought maybe I was mistaken.
Eric: Well, there's rooms upstairs for rent.
Serena: When I looked through that window and I saw you sitting there... I thought my heart was gonna stop. Why don't we go to your room? And we--this place...it's... it's a little public.
Eric: Yeah, well, I move--I moved out. I got an apartment.
Serena: Could we go there?
Eric: My landlord's doing some repairs.
Serena: Oh.
Eric: But the pub's not open for dinner...yet. And nobody's gonna come in.
Serena: After all this time, and all the things that I need to say to you...it's kinda hard in a place like this.
Eric: Okay. You know what, I...think I might know a place. Actually, why don't you come with me?
Maggie: I, uh, I get the feeling that Parker and I walked in on something, so why don't he and I go to his room and the three of you can work out whatever this is.
Melanie: Uh, don't...do that. Um...I haven't been honest with you about the thing I was dealing with.
Maggie: Okay.
Melanie: It's just 'cause I didn't want you to worry. I guess surprising you guys wasn't the best idea. But I came home because I want to be with the people that I love most in the world and I missed you all more than anything. And I'm applying for my old job at the hospital because I just want to be here. I just want to be home. I mean...as I've screwed everything up so badly that you don't want anything to do with me.
Brady: Melanie. Knock it off.
Daniel: Look, I was angry. Okay?
Melanie: You don't hate me?
Daniel: Right. Like that could ever happen.
Theresa: Okay. Confession?
Anne: Mm-hmm.
Theresa: I said I left work earlier today because I had a headache, but that was a lie.
Anne: [Gasps] Uh-oh. That's gonna go on your hr record, young lady. [Chuckles]
Theresa: Okay, but seriously, I went by Paul's room a couple of times, but that Jordan Ridgeway girl had him in physical therapy all afternoon.
Anne: She is such a straight arrow, right?
Theresa: Yes.
Anne: Yeah, so I would--I think I'd faint if I heard her laugh.
Theresa: God, I mean, the hospital is full of people like that. They all think they're saints. I mean, Daniel Jonas, he acts like he walks on water to get to work in the morning. Right?
Anne: Thank God for me, right?
Theresa: Totally. Although, you know, I did meet this girl that I think might have some potential.
Anne: Oh. Who?
Theresa: Well, I didn't get her name.
Anne: Well, what department is she in?
Theresa: Wow. Um, well, she doesn't work there yet, she was just filling out an application, but I think-- I think she said nursing. But, let's be honest, I wasn't paying attention at work.
[Laughter]
Anne: What exactly did you like about her?
Theresa: I don't know, she seemed fun.
Anne: Mm-hmm.
Theresa: And...she kinda seemed like she would be trouble. But in a good way.
Melanie: I'm so sorry you got hurt.
Brady: I'm glad I was there.
Melanie: Yeah, I think my biggest mistake was thinking I could handle all of this by myself.
Brady: No, no, I think your biggest mistake was going back into a casino that threw you out for counting cards.
Melanie: Okay, they didn't throw me out. Four huge guys hauled me out in front of everybody and it drove me-- I'm--obviously, I'm being stupid.
Brady: Here's the good news. You don't have a monopoly on stupid, I--
Melanie: Yeah, Kristin DiMera.
Brady: Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one.
Melanie: That's ri--that's right, there was another one.
Brady: Mm-hmm. Her name was Theresa Donovan.
Melanie: And what did she do?
Brady: You know what? Doesn't matter. I shouldn't have even said her name. What matters is that I'm in no position to throw stones. At anyone.
Maggie: Can you tell me what Melanie was talking about? This have anything to do with Brady having that lip?
Daniel: Well, yeah, but the important part is it's over and--and I believe her now. But, uh, you know, she was in some serious trouble. It was no joke. And when I explain to you exactly what happened, you know, I think you'll agree with me that it's just...it's just Melanie being Melanie.
Eric: This is less public. It's cold.
Serena: It's okay. I like the cold. After all those years in the Congo--the heat you couldn't escape.
Eric: Yeah, it's pretty impressive.
Serena: Mm-hmm. Cold kind of feels nice. So, how are you doing?
Eric: I'm okay.
Serena: And this DiMera woman, why does she want to ruin your life?
Eric: She had her reasons.
Serena: And if the church knows that you were set up, why aren't you back in the priesthood?
Eric: It's a long story.
Serena: I've got time. I always got time for you.
Eric: Well, if I'm gonna get into that, I hope you got more than a couple hours for your visit.
Serena: Eric, I'm not visiting Salem. I'm moving here.
Sonny: So I get a bigger share of any profits. But if the club goes belly up...
Victor: Then it's all on you. You could end up with nothing. Not even club TBD.
Sonny: Chad wouldn't do this to me.
Victor: You read it yourself. I was right, wasn't I? This club was your way of showing will that things could be just as exciting here in Salem as they are in L.A.
Sonny: Honestly, I don't know why I did it anymore. I just can't believe I was stupid on so many levels.
Victor: Sonny?
Marlena: What sort of insanity are you talking about?
Paul: Didn't somebody say the definition of insanity was to do the same thing over and over again, and expect some different turnout?
Marlena: Yes, but that's simplistic.
Paul: See, here's what I don't understand. You've been here, what, three times? And every time...it's like you expect me to breakdown and tell you some sob story.
Marlena: No, not at all.
Paul: And I keep telling you that--that I'm not interested in even talking to you. And you keep coming back. I mean, that's insane.
Marlena: You think you're very clever, don't you?
Paul: No, I don't. I just...can't seem to figure out why you don't understand that I don't need a shrink.
Marlena: What I understand is what you just did spoke volumes. Good luck with that physical therapy.
Tad: Hey, sonny.
Sonny: I need to talk to Chad alone.
Tad: Sure, I'll just be in the back.
Chad: Hey, there he is. What's up, buddy?
Sonny: Just found out the guy I call my friend, my partner, stabbed me in the back.
Chad: Look, I--I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
Sonny: Those papers you had drawn up. Did you read them over?
Chad: Yeah, of course I did. Did you?
Sonny: No. I trusted you. Chad, that liability clause, if that Southside club doesn't work out, I lose everything. You own this place.
Chad: Okay, only...if you use up all the contingency money I put in, and the club on the Southside goes under. I mean, do you really think that both of those things would ever happen? Dude, you were so high on the place.
Sonny: You knew this was a bad idea from the beginning. Didn't you?
Derrick: And the ice machine is just down the hall. But you can call room service and have ice delivered.
Paul: Thanks.
Derrick: Here you go. And I totally understand the need for discretion regarding your stay.
Paul: So you can be discreet?
Derrick: Yes, sir.
Paul: Here you go.
Derrick: Anything else you need... my name's derrick.
Paul: Thanks, derrick. Stop it, Paul. You're on the road again.
Anne: So you really like this guy?
Theresa: Oh, no, I don't like any of them. I just like what they can do for me.
Anne: Oh, and what can Paul do for you? Besides, you know, the obvious?
Theresa: Well...you know, he can make me forget about Brady and about...
Anne: Uh-huh.
Theresa: You know, everything that happened.
Anne: You know, I am so beat. I think I gotta just head home.
Theresa: Wait, what? We haven't even--no, we haven't even drank the wine yet.
Anne: Well, why don't you sneak into Paul's room at the hospital and share it with him? Here. Go for it.
Theresa: Really?
Anne: Yeah. You know, I saw some pictures of, uh, the manager of Paul's old team. This guy is smoking. And the managers, they make the big money for a lot longer than the players, so I'm thinking you and Paul, you start up a thing, and then you'll finagle a little introduction for me.
Theresa: Well, you got it.
Anne: Okay.
Theresa: Anne, you really know how to cheer up a girl.
Anne: Aw.
Melanie: Totally fine. I've already talked to Abigail and she filled me in on Theresa. She sounds like a nightmare.
Brady: Yeah. All I'm gonna say is if you see her, will you do me a favor? Just run the other way.
Melanie: That's all you're gonna say?
Brady: Mm-hmm. What she put me through was my fault. It was all my fault. So just please forget about it.
Melanie: See, that's gonna be kinda hard to do because she sounds like a bitch and she put a lot of people that I care about through hell.
Parker: Melanie, come back.
Brady: You are being summoned.
Melanie: Thank you for saving me. And, um, keep some-- some ice on--
Brady: Ice on my--
Melanie: Yeah. Dad filled you in?
Maggie: Mm-hmm. I thought you were smarter than that.
Melanie: I am now.
Maggie: I hope so.
Melanie: Hey, Parker. I'm back.
Parker: Come play with me.
Melanie: Okay. Uh, I will in a second.
Maggie: Honey? You and Brady could have been beaten up. Or thrown in jail. Or both.
Melanie: Nothing like that'll happen again, I promise. Okay?
Maggie: Come here. I know you know this. I can never stay mad at you.
Nicole: Look, I know Daniel and Jennifer fought over something I did but, you know, they had problems that didn't have anything to do with me. That's what Daniel said.
Abe: Something you did? That's a little vague, don't you think? You--you tried to keep Eric from going back to the priesthood. Do his problems have nothing to do with you?
Nicole: Always great running into you, Abe.
Abe: Same here.
Serena: I'll be here for at least a year doing some medical research, as a journalist, using the facilities over at university hospital.
Eric: I'm a little surprised you didn't mention it to me. I mean, I know we weren't in contact all that frequently, but you could have at least mentioned it to me in an email.
Serena: Honestly? I wasn't sure what your reaction would be.
Melanie: Well, I don't know if that one goes there.
Parker: Maybe it goes with...
Melanie: Still--just like me. It's not gonna fit, but he's gonna try and make it work. And I will, okay, I'm gonna--I'm gonna be better. I have to be, right, if I'm gonna be a nurse again.
Maggie: Sweetheart. I know what bad shape you were in when you left here.
Melanie: Yeah, well, that's not an excuse to be the girl that I used to be. I know that. I told dad I would go with him to say hi to everyone at the hospital and turn my application in, so. I'm pretty confident I'll get my job back.
Maggie: That would be great.
Melanie: Might as well just do it now. Is Maxine--is she working the late shift?
Daniel: Yes, she is.
Melanie: Okay. Might as well get the ball rolling.
Maggie: Yeah.
Melanie: Okay. Um, all right, man. I'm gonna be back, okay? I promise. Oh. Okay. Um, oh... could I--can I borrow the keys to the car, maybe? I'm sorry. Thanks. Love you, mag. Oh, um, could I also... okay.
Marlena: Oh, Victor. What a surprise.
Victor: Your receptionist said you didn't have a patient for a while.
Marlena: Well, she's right again. Uh, come sit down. What's going on?
Victor: I just talked to sonny. I'm worried about him and will.
Chad: I swear that I did not know any of those things were wrong with the new club.
Sonny: But you had an idea, right?
Chad: You liked the place. That is all that I cared about.
Sonny: So that's why you slipped the agreement under my nose? Because you care about me?
Chad: Look. That clause is never gonna come into play.
Sonny: But if I--if--if it does, I lose everything. Do you understand? I lose everything.
Chad: Okay, sonny--
Sonny: I lose my share to this club.
Chad: Sonny. None of that stuff is gonna happen. I promise. Okay? You are gonna find a way to make it all work out. I have faith in you, okay. Now look, I have a conference call in 15 minutes with Kate and I have to go. Hey... it's gonna work out.
Sonny: Whether you did it on purpose or not... I'm screwed.
Tad: Hey, sonny? Everything okay?
Sonny: Everything's the opposite of okay.
Maxine: Girl, you are a sight for sore eyes. Are you back to stay?
Melanie: Oh, that depends.
Maxine: On what?
Melanie: On if I can get my old job back.
Maxine: There won't be a problem with that.
Melanie: Well, Anne Milbauer is still head of H.R.
Maxine: Unfortunately.
Melanie: And she and my dad hate each other.
Maxine: And now she has an assistant that's even worse than she is.
Melanie: Who could be worse than her?
Maxine: Don't worry about it. I'm about to go on break. I will grab your application off of Anne's desk and walk it straight to the head of nursing.
Melanie: Thank you.
Maxine: I want you back where you belong.
Melanie: That'd be nice. Hi.
Theresa: Hi! Both: Hey.
Melanie: You're working late.
Theresa: Oh, no, yeah. Definitely not. Um, I was just--I came back to see a friend who's a patient, but someone new is in his room. I guess they sent him home. You know, it's too bad too because...he totally missed out on an amazing bottle of wine.
Melanie: Were you gonna open that in here?
Theresa: Well, he had shoulder surgery, so. I mean, you can drink with that, right?
Melanie: Totally.
Theresa: Totally. [Laughter] Hey, what are you doing later? Do you wanna--you wanna just go get a pizza and split this?
Melanie: Oh, that sounds great. Um, I just got here, though. I kinda want to spend time with my little brother.
Theresa: Aw, that's too bad. But, hey, give me your number and we can, you know, we should start something up.
Melanie: Yeah. No, absolutely.
Theresa: You know, I--I know I don't know you and actually, I don't even know your name, but I feel like we're gonna totally hit it off.
Melanie: Yeah.
Brady: I gotta compliment you. I do, turning into that investigative reporter on that casino woman. That was nice.
Nicole: That broad had it coming. I mean, treating Melanie like a criminal and then ordering that creep she brought with her to beat you up, seriously?
Brady: Well, it was a good thing you called Daniel because he helped divert the disaster.
Nicole: Yeah, well, luckily he and I are friendly enough for me to call him. I mean, there was a time not long ago when he might not have taken my call.
Brady: Yeah.
Nicole: All right. I will say this again. Daniel and I are just friends.
Brady: Mm-hmm.
Nicole: That's all. What--what? Say it, go ahead. Say it.
Brady: The one thing I've always loved about you is that you always call it as you see it. You always have.
Nicole: Mm-hmm.
Brady: Except for when it comes to men. And how you feel about them. You are clueless.
Nicole: That is not true.
Brady: Really? Really--how--how long have we known each other?
Nicole: Too long.
Brady: Okay. And look at me. Take my word for it, your guard is up so high that even when it's obvious to everyone else, you can't admit when you're falling for someone.
Nicole: [Scoffs]
Eric: You were worried how I would react? I mean, since when is your career any of my business? But how could you even think that I wouldn't be happy to see you?
Serena: We've always been straight with each other, right?
Eric: Yeah, right.
Serena: And first, let me say I had a lot of options.
Eric: I'm sure you did.
Serena: But this assignment, it's amazing. And the subject matter is totally fascinating and I get to do the kind of long arch reporting that I love to do. That has nothing to do with why I picked it.
Eric: Okay, then what did?
Serena: You. It's all about you. My budget used to be a real downer.
Marlena: You know, the last time you talked me into interfering, it was disastrous.
Victor: I know, you and I don't exactly have a stellar record when it comes to that. What the hell is the alternative? I mean, if sonny is too busy to go to L.A. And will can't be bothered coming back here--
Marlena: But listen, will is crazy busy back there.
Victor: Oh, he's a writer. He can do that anywhere.
Marlena: There is nothing you and I can do about this. Sonny and will have to fix this themselves.
Victor: All right, all right. Least it's only about career and their being apart.
Marlena: Yeah. It'll be all over soon.
Victor: I know. One of them could be cheating.
Sonny: Hey, will. I really need to talk to you. Things are...I don't even know how things are. Okay, they're just crazy and... I usually can figure it out when I talk with you. So would you just call me back, please.
Maggie: I thought Melanie would be back by now.
Daniel: Eh, she won't do anything stupid. I think I got through to her.
Maggie: Yeah, you gave her your car, a wad of bills. Yeah, you just drove that message right home.
Daniel: Okay, she is a grown woman, what am I supposed to do? Like, ground her?
Maggie: I know. I know it's just that she hasn't had any real focus in so long.
Daniel: But she has us now. Think we can keep an eye on her.
Maggie: She sounds like she thinks that moving back here is the answer. I hope she's right.
Melanie: Cool. There you go.
Theresa: All right. Okay. Um, so if you get a text from Theresa Donovan, then you'll know it's me.
Melanie: What?
Theresa: Theresa Donovan, that's my name. Is that a problem?
Melanie: [Laughs] Ah! I'm Melanie Jonas.
Theresa: Melanie Jonas?
Nicole: I am not going after Daniel, not even on the subconscious level. Don't worry.
Brady: I'm not worried. I think it could be a good thing.
Nicole: Why?
Brady: Why, because you--you and Daniel, you know each other. You care about each other. Could be worth exploring. Why not?
Nicole: I don't--I don't think I'm ready to explore.
Brady: Nicole, if you're holding out hope for Eric, honey, that's not gonna happen.
Eric: You--you came here because of me?
Serena: You know me. I don't play games. You knew how I felt about you. I told you when we said good-bye in Africa.
Eric: That was a long time ago.
Serena: But I didn't fight for you then. How could I fight the priesthood? You said that's what you wanted. When I found out you changed your mind, I knew I had to see you. 'Cause Eric, I...I never stopped caring about you. Not for one minute, and I never will.
