Jordan: Open up, you bastard. I know you're in there. Damn it, Clyde, open this door.
Kate: Hey, Jordan. Is there something I can help you with?
Tad: Melanie wanted to surprise Abigail at Ben's house, but yet she was the one who ended up with the surprise-- full Monty.
Chad: Ugh, that would be a surprise. Yeah, Melanie must wonder why after what Abigail used to, she would settle for a smaller, more economy package.
Ben: You son of a--
Victor: He's not worth it. Trust me.
Sonny: That doesn't make sense at all. Why would I come to the south side location to see the progress if there isn't any? No more excuses, Keith. I need to see results. Is that clear? [Sighs] Contractor's a jerk, will's MIA, Paul shows up... great day. What are you doing here?
Paul: I came in town for surgery.
Sonny: The shoulder.
Paul: It finally had to be done. Why are we talking?
Sonny: Here... you had to come here for surgery. [Sighs]
Oh, that is amazing.
Abigail: Aunt Adrienne, do you know him?
Daniel: [Whistles] Wow. She is going to love that.
Maggie: [Chuckles] I hope so.
Daniel: Well, she is also going to love the cookies, the trail mix, the bath oil, the bath salts, and this candle.
Maggie: Okay, okay. I'm thrilled that my granddaughter is home.
Daniel: Really? I wouldn't have guessed that.
Maggie: [Chuckles] Okay, I think that's it there.
Daniel: Oh, look at that, Mom--it's perfect. It's perfect.
Maggie: Daniel, having Melanie back is the best-- it's the best news.
Daniel: Yes, yes, it is. It is.
Maggie: I know it's unexpected, and as--as thrilled as I am, Victor and I, we were talking about it earlier, and-- [Clears throat]
Daniel: And? [Clears throat] What?
Maggie: Just--never mind.
Daniel: Mom?
Maggie: You know what, Daniel? I don't want to worry you.
Daniel: Okay, Mom.
Maggie: Okay. You know, the sudden decision of Melanie's to move back to Salem... do you think there's something she's not telling us?
Daniel: Yep. I do.
[Cell phone vibrating]
Melanie: [Screams] [Grunting]
Brady: [Stammers]
Melanie: [Chuckles] Brady! Oh, my God, I'm sorry.
Brady: No, no, no.
Melanie: You scared me. I got so--
Brady: I'm sorry--I couldn't believe you were sitting there, and I--sorry.
Melanie: God, no, I'm here. I'm back.
Brady: Come here. [Chuckles]
Melanie: [Chuckles] Oh, my God. [Chuckles nervously]
Maggie: Well, the last time I spoke to her, she didn't express that she was restless in any way and that she wanted to make a change.
Daniel: Mm, well, not with me either. She didn't even bring it up during our last video chat, and that was a few days ago.
Maggie: [Chuckles] Well, you know, I even said that Victor and I, we might take--we might take a trip to Europe and come and visit her sometime soon.
Daniel: Oh, yeah? And how did she respond?
Maggie: She thought it was a great idea.
Daniel: Well, that's strange.
Maggie: It is. [Chuckles] But you know what? Maybe we should just stop... and stop trying to analyze why our precious Melanie is back and just enjoy it, and... I don't know--chalk it up for youthful impulsiveness, yes? No?
Daniel: No, no, no, no, no. I'm sure, yes, Melanie is impulsive, but this, no, there's something else that's motivated her to come back, and you want to know what? I think I have a pretty good idea what it might be.
Chad: Ben, give Mr. Kiriakis his special blend, would you?
Victor: I'm not here for coffee today. I need a word with Chad... alone.
Chad: So, Mr. Kiriakis, I'm not sure what you and I have to talk about, unless... I mean, did you come here to congratulate me?
Victor: On becoming co-CEO of DiMera? Hardly.
Chad: Well, I'm disappointed. Does that mean you don't like the idea?
Victor: You know, Chad, despite your lineage, I've always considered you a decent young man. But I worry that the time you've spent with Stefano has changed that.
Chad: So you don't think I'm the same decent guy anymore, is that it?
Victor: What I think is... you've probably made your father very proud.
Jordan: You are unbelievable.
Kate: You know, your stepfather just told me exactly the same thing. [Chuckles] Anyway, I gather that's why you're here--to see him.
Clyde: Is that room service?
Kate: Uh, no.
Clyde: Well, well... I was not expecting you, Tammy sue.
Tad: Maybe I should not have told Chad about Melanie walking in on you, like, naked.
Ben: No, it's not your fault. It's just that Chad's a piece--
Tad: It's okay, I know. He's--he's a pain. But don't let it get to you. It's not worth it.
Chad: Is it a crime to try to make your father proud?
Victor: When your father is Stefano DiMera, chances are good, yes. On a more benign note, you know, will and Sonny were very disappointed you didn't make it to their wedding. My nephew and his husband both consider you one of their best friends.
Chad: And they're mine as well, despite people like you trying to undermine that.
Paul: I love you, Sonny.
It's been so nice talking to you. I'll see you around?
Paul: I'll see you around.
Adrienne: You know, he--he... looks familiar, but then again, so do a lot of people. How are you, babe?
Abigail: I-I'm good, yeah. I'm good, thanks. Hey, when's uncle Justin coming home?
Adrienne: I wish I knew. You know, he's been out of the country way too long.
Abigail: I'm sorry. It must be really hard on you.
Adrienne: It is. But the man loves his work, and I have to respect that, right? Right. But speaking of which, you must just love having your job back.
Abigail: Yes, oh, my God. It's been so great.
Adrienne: I am so glad that Sami had a change of heart.
Abigail: Um, actually, aunt Adrienne, it--it wasn't Sami. It had nothing to do with her.
Adrienne: How'd it happen?
Abigail: Chad DiMera. Yeah, he took over his brother's seat on the board, and he got me my job back.
Adrienne: Okay, wow. Seriously, good for Chad.
Abigail: Listen, I would love to stay and catch up with you, but I have to get back to my office now, so, um...
Adrienne: No, honey, go, go. Okay, love you.
Abigail: I love you, bye.
Adrienne: Bye.
Maggie: Okay, so what is your theory? What do you think brought Melanie back to Salem?
Daniel: Well, one of the first people she saw when she got back here was Chad.
Maggie: Really?
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Maggie: Isn't he a major part of the reason that she left?
Daniel: Oh, she said she wanted to clear the air, make sure he didn't think that he thought she came back for him. But, Mom, if she suddenly bolted from here after they broke up, don't you think there's a chance that she bolted Europe to come home for the same reason?
Maggie: So you-- you think she's running away from another man?
"Hope to have definitive info on Melanie Jonas, ASAP."
Brady: So what, are you--are you back for good?
Melanie: Yeah, you're stuck with me.
Brady: I thought Europe was it for you.
Melanie: Well, technically, there are no "its" in life, you know? It was--it was lovely. I was with my mom, and I got to go to all these amazing places, you know. [Speaking French] [Speaking Italian]
Brady: [Speaking French] [Speaking Italian]
Melanie: No, it was--it was fun, and there were some interesting people, but I just missed home and Salem and my family and... what?
Brady: No, it--it's just sudden, you know. You didn't give any hint to anybody that you were coming back.
Melanie: Well, I just wanted to surprise everyone.
Brady: Okay. So nothing--nothing happened? Nothing in particular that made you come home now?
Melanie: No. I mean, not in particular. I mean, there were some--some, uh, things that helped the decision, you know. Uh, my mom had a work post on another continent, um, and I, uh--my medical, um--or my work visa was expiring, obviously, so I just figured-- I just figured it was, um, time that I come back to this side of the Atlantic. And I've only been back for a couple of hours, but already I'm pretty happy about it.
Brady: Oh, that's great. Why are you so jumpy?
Melanie: I'm not--I'm not jumpy.
Brady: You're jumpy.
Melanie: No, no, no. You know what? I'm sleepy. I'm tired. I didn't get a lot of sleep on--I'm jet-lagged. But I will be fine by tomorrow. Fine. I don't really want to talk about me, though. I want to talk about the hell that you've been going through.
Jordan: I know what you're doing.
Kate: Wh--well, considering where we are and how we're dressed, that's kind of obvious.
Jordan: I wasn't talking to you.
Kate: Okay. Well, I guess that's my cue to freshen up.
Clyde: It's all right, Kate.
Kate: No, no, no. You two should have some time together, alone.
Clyde: I do not appreciate you speaking to my guest that way.
Jordan: Your guest? Don't you mean your whore?
Maggie: Melanie says she has a friend from Europe who is moving here. Naturally, I assumed it was a boyfriend. She said it was a woman. She said that she hasn't been involved with a man since she left Salem.
Daniel: Well, she never mentioned anyone special to me in all the talks we had, but still...
Maggie: Still what?
Daniel: My daughter, as open as she is about a lot of things, keeps some of that stuff hidden inside, as you well know.
Maggie: So her reasons for coming back... [Sighs] You think she's not telling us the whole truth?
Daniel: Oh, I don't just think it. My fatherly instincts tell me we haven't heard the half of it.
Brady: Uh, I'm good, Melanie, I swear.
Melanie: Okay, you're my friend, obviously, so you may not want to hear this, but my grandma and dad told me about Kristen DiMera.
Brady: Uh-huh.
Melanie: All I can say is that if she were standing right here, I would knock her out.
Brady: Mel, if she was standing right there, I would assist you in that.
Melanie: Okay, well, good. And I also heard you were using after everything happened.
Brady: You heard that, huh? Well, I, um--I took care of it. I managed it, and I put it behind me.
Melanie: Okay. I just wish I was there to help you. I would have kicked Kristen DiMera's butt, and I also would have helped you deal with that, the--the enabler. I don't remember her name-- the one that took advantage of you when you were down, the--what the--what was the Vegas wedding nonsense?
Brady: Oh, you heard about that. Okay, I don't-- I appreciate your concern, but I don't want to talk about this stuff right now, okay? Please?
Melanie: Okay. All right, that's fair. Just know that I'm here to help you out if you need anything. And I'm proud of you for being so resilient.
Brady: Well, thank you.
Melanie: Yeah, you're welcome. You mean the world to so many people, Brady, myself included. I hope you know that.
Brady: I do. I do know that. But you know how you can show me how much you care about me right now? You can change the subject, can talk about anything other than me right now.
Melanie: Okay, all right, fine. But I'm not ready to let you go yet, so you're going to come with me to a little homecoming celebration.
Brady: Okay, I-I assume you're the guest of honor?
Melanie: You assume correctly. Um, "be right there. Bringing a special guest."
Brady: I take it I'm the "guest"?
Melanie: Your powers of deduction are exceptional, Brady black.
Brady: Except when they're not.
Melanie: Oh, that was deep.
Brady: Yeah.
Melanie: Let's go party.
Victor: I look out for my nephew. You're his partner, and yet you elected not to tell him about your new position.
Chad: And you know exactly why I did that. But you still tried to use that to perpetuate this ancient Kiriakis/DiMera feud.
Victor: Well, from where I sit, you're the one that's trying to stir that up.
Chad: Look, Sonny and I will get through this.
Victor: You know, in my experience, the best way for friends to stay friends is to keep money out of the mix. And I know you put a lot of it into the new south side location... which is why I would be willing to--
Chad: Mr. Kiriakis, I know you mean well. But it is best if you just stay out of it.
Clyde: You will not talk about Kate like that in my presence.
Jordan: Oh, my God, Clyde, are you that delusional? You think just because she's rich and she runs a company that she has class?
Clyde: Listen, I know you and Kate went at it a bit over Rafe, but I thought you moved on with Chad. Kate has most certainly moved on.
Jordan: With you, right. And I'm sure you think that sleeping with Kate somehow elevates you from being the redneck hillbilly that you are and always will be.
Clyde: You shut the hell up.
Jordan: But all it does is make her look pathetic and desperate and you look like you're way out of your league.
Clyde: You watch your words. You don't have a gun to protect you this time.
Maggie: Ah... I checked my phone. I got a text from Melanie. She's on her way. She's bringing a surprise.
Daniel: Oh, boy. Well, I'll put out those snacks you brought. There, I got it.
Maggie: You didn't tell anybody she was here, did you, Victor?
Victor: No. I posted it on Facebook and tweeted about it, of course.
Maggie: What?
Victor: For goodness sakes, Maggie, you know I don't do twitter or Facebook. Besides, if anyone can keep a secret...
[Knock at door]
Daniel: Oh, boy. Okay, there she is now. All right. Hey!
Melanie: Hi. I'm sorry. I hope you weren't waiting too long.
Daniel: No, no, no, it's fine.
Melanie: Victor, I'm so glad you came.
Victor: Oh, my dear, you look more beautiful than the day you left.
Maggie: And I guess this fella here is the surprise that you were bringing?
Brady: Surprise. Hi, Maggie.
Daniel: Thanks for coming, man.
Melanie: I know--Brady and I ran into each other at the square, so I dragged him along to my welcome-home party.
Brady: Yeah, no dragging involved--I was happy to come.
Melanie: I missed you guys so much. I mean, obviously I was thinking about you the whole time I was in Europe, but I was missing you, and I was always counting back, like, six hours, trying to figure out what you were doing and then getting sad, because whatever it is you were doing, I wasn't part of it.
Daniel: Hey, hey.
Melanie: I just hated that I was missing out on Parker growing up.
Daniel: Well, there's still plenty of time for that, okay?
Melanie: I know, I know. But now I'm going to be able to horn in from here-- no more virtual stuff, no more Skyping or emailing or videos or any-- ah! Any of that. Oh, I missed you guys so much.
Maggie: And we miss you so much, sweetheart. You'll never know how much. [Chuckles]
Melanie: Oh, you guys mean everything to me. This is exactly what I needed.
[Knock at door]
Good news... Melanie Jonas is using her mobile. She's in Salem.
Kelly: Excellent work. I'll take it from here.
Jordan: I know Kate brought you to Salem.
Clyde: Yeah. Kate told me. And I know I have you to thank for bringing us together.
Jordan: Oh, just stop it. I am not going to fall for your games, Clyde. I do not care how much money you throw at Ben or how many hours you log with your new shrink. I know you too well.
Clyde: So you know about that?
Jordan: Obviously. But you don't need a psychiatric diagnosis to label the kind of man you really are.
Clyde: Listen, I'm sorry you feel that way. I know I've given you reason to hate me, but I'm working every single day doing all that I can to make myself a better man. There is nothing more that I can do.
Jordan: Oh, yeah, you could stay out of my life.
Clyde: Well, that might be a little difficult, given where we live and who our mutual friends are.
Jordan: Oh, well, maybe it's time you packed your pickup and went back to poplar bluff. I have worked too hard to build a life for myself here, and I'm not going to let you ruin me again. I'm only in my 60'S.
Chad: How'd it go?
Jordan: How did what go?
Chad: When you left me back at the mansion, you said you were going to see your brother. I was thinking you were going to tell him about how Kate was the one who brought your stepfather to town.
Jordan: I saw Ben. I told him.
Chad: And?
Jordan: And then I saw Clyde.
Kate: Oh. Thank you. Very civilized.
Clyde: Yeah. Not like that scene you had to deal with just now. That was ugly. I'm sorry about that.
Kate: Well, you bore the brunt of that. Your stepdaughter certainly went after you.
Clyde: I'm used to it.
Kate: Still, if I were in your place, I don't think I would be able to check my anger.
Clyde: The food arrived.
Kate: I see. Are you hungry?
Clyde: Why, yes, I am.
Sonny: Hey... what's up with him?
Tad: It's kind of my fault. I told Chad something, and he ran with it, totally teasing Ben.
Sonny: The two of them get into it again?
Tad: Yeah, nearly. And then your uncle came in and broke it up.
Sonny: My uncle Vic was here?
Tad: Yep. Wanted to have a conversation with Chad. Wasn't too happy after the conversation, so he walked out of here, didn't even take a coffee to go.
Sonny: Great. Everything else okay here?
Tad: Yeah. Um, it's getting late. We still got to do the hospital run. Um, I'm in the middle here. So do you--do you want to do it?
Sonny: No, I don't. Send Ben.
[Knock at door]
[Door opens]
Abigail: Hi, Paul.
Paul: Hey, beautiful.
Abigail: Here are the balls we want you to autograph for the pediatric wing's Christmas stockings.
Paul: Give me one. I'll get started now.
Abigail: Oh, okay. Here you go.
Paul: It's, uh, Abigail, right?
Abigail: Oh, you don't have to--
Paul: For you.
Abigail: [Chuckles]
Paul: Can I get a smile?
Abigail: [Chuckles] Thank you, Paul. And I hope everything works out well for you while you're here in Salem.
Paul: Me too.
[Laughter]
Melanie: No, it's not-- Brady, it's not fu-- the women broke her leg. She's flying down the slope. They're trying to carry her down. She's like, "I hate Gstaad! I hate Gstaad!"
[Laughter]
Melanie: I know. No, it's not funny. Okay, all right, enough-- enough European stories. Your turn.
Victor: Oh, well, you could tell Melanie how you, uh, dodged a major bullet.
Brady: Why would I bore her with business from Hong Kong?
Melanie: It's not boring. I wouldn't be bored.
Brady: Oh, that's right. No, Melanie, it's boring. It's boring. But I actually do need to talk to you about that, Granddad. Do you mind if I steal him for lunch? And we will catch up later. I promise.
Melanie: No, but you--you guys just got here.
Brady: No, it's--it's important. It's important.
Victor: Well, I have no idea why.
Brady: You will, you will. But, listen, I want--I want to catch up with you. I want to see you tomorrow, the next day, and the next day after that, and then maybe even the next day after that, okay?
Melanie: All right, okay. That's fine. [Chuckles]
Maggie: Oh, thanks, honey.
Daniel: Mm-hmm.
Brady: I missed you.
Victor: I am so glad that you're back, Melanie. And your grandmother--over the moon.
Maggie: So are you going to come back after your little meeting?
Victor: Of course.
Brady: Bye-bye.
Maggie: Bye.
Brady: See you.
Maggie: Okay, I'll get the take-out menus.
Melanie: Okay.
Maggie: Okay.
[Zipper opens]
Daniel: You seem a little distracted, honey.
Melanie: Huh?
Daniel: What?
Melanie: Oh, no, no, no, no. Just, uh--just a lot to take in.
Daniel: Yeah, so how'd it go with the big surprise? You see anybody else other than, say, Brady?
Melanie: Um, yeah, I saw Chad.
Daniel: Great. And?
Melanie: Well, I just made everything really clear with him.
Daniel: Good.
Melanie: So--and I saw Abigail, and I met her boyfriend.
Daniel: Also great, yeah.
Melanie: Yeah, then I ran into Brady. It's all good.
Daniel: You sure about that?
Melanie: Yeah, why--why are you--why are you doubting me?
Daniel: Well, because I know you, Melanie, and so does your grandmother, and we both find it kind of--just a little bit strange that you came back so suddenly, and you really didn't bother to talk to either one of us.
Melanie: Why are you making such a big deal about this? I'm here. We're all together. Everything is fine. [Sighs] I could never keep anything from you guys.
Tad: There you go.
Adrienne: Oh, thank you. T, did I hear you say something to Sonny about a hospital run?
Tad: Yeah, we have an ongoing coffee contract with them, so... it's a good gig, but we got to restock a lot. Sonny just sent Ben to go do that today.
Sonny: Sorry, Mom. I didn't know that would take so long.
Adrienne: Oh, no, honey, I'm fine.
Sonny: Good.
Adrienne: Not so sure I could say the same about you, though. Seemed pretty upset on that phone call.
Sonny: It wasn't will, if that's your next question.
Adrienne: Oh. Oh. Did you get ahold of him?
Sonny: I did.
Adrienne: Good.
Sonny: And he was furious that everyone in town seems to know that he and I hadn't spoken in three days.
Adrienne: I'm sorry. Lucas and I were very upset that will has been incommunicado lately, and Lucas called him. I hope you're not angry with him or me.
Sonny: No, it's okay.
Adrienne: Good. So... what else is going on?
Sonny: You're pretty much up to speed on everything.
Adrienne: Am I?
Sonny: Mm-hmm.
Adrienne: Mm.
Sonny: What is that supposed to mean?
Adrienne: I was just at the hospital visiting Kayla, and I saw someone there... someone you know.
Abigail: Oh, I should have had him sign it for Ben. [Sighs]
Karin: Oh! I'm so sorry, Abigail.
Abigail: God, Karin, watch out.
Karin: I was checking out that guy over there. I thought Paul Narita was hot, but seriously, look at this one.
Abigail: Yeah, he is pretty smoking hot, huh?
Karin: Do you know him?
Abigail: He's my boyfriend.
Karin: [Laughs] In your dreams.
Abigail: Karin. Hi, hot coffee guy.
Ben: Mm. Oh, my-- hope I don't get you in trouble.
Karin: [Mouths word]
Abigail: Some trouble is worth it. [Chuckles]
Melanie: Oh, I'm so sorry, Dad.
Daniel: Why? What is it, baby?
Melanie: I lost the locket that you gave me.
Daniel: Wait. What?
Melanie: I know, I know, but I think that I had it on when I was at Grandma's.
Maggie: Well, listen, don't worry about it. I'll just call Henderson and get him on the hunt.
Melanie: You know what? No, actually, I'm just going to go--I'm going to go run back really fast, and--and--and we can order food when I get back.
Maggie: Sure.
Melanie: I'm going to retrace my steps, and hopefully I'll get lucky.
Daniel: Well, do you want me to come with you?
Melanie: You know what? No, it's okay. I feel like I'll just--it'll be faster if I just go by myself, but I'll be back in, like, an hour.
Daniel: Okay, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, baby.
Melanie: Okay, okay. Awesome.
Maggie: And here's a spare key to the house.
Melanie: Oh.
Maggie: Use it and then use it anytime you want.
Melanie: Oh, thank you so much for understanding. I love you.
Maggie: Okay, okay. Hurry back.
Melanie: I love you both. Okay, I will, I will.
Maggie: [Laughs] So it seems like everything is all right after all.
Daniel: Really? You think?
Maggie: Well, maybe not.
Victor: All right, what's going on, Brady? That Hong Kong deal is solid as a rock.
Brady: Yeah, yeah, it is. This is about a different deal, Granddad. This has to do with the deal with you thinking it's okay to blurt out personal stuff about me to anybody that's within earshot, okay? Things that I don't want other people to know, and if I did want them to know, I'd be the one to tell them.
Victor: All right, all right, just settle down.
Brady: No, no, settle down? You almost embarrassed the hell out of me back there, for no good reason whatsoever... unless you thought it was some teachable moment that everybody, including Melanie, needed to know about Theresa and the pregnancy scare.
Victor: All right, all right, let's be clear here, Brady. I wasn't trying to make it a teachable moment for you or anybody else. My intention was to spread the word about that manipulative little witch and what she's capable of doing to people. Everybody should know what her game is.
Brady: Granddad.
Victor: What?
Brady: I love you.
Victor: [Scoffs] Well, I love you too, Brady.
Brady: All right. But this has to stop... and I mean now.
Victor: [Sighs]
Abigail: Why can't you just ignore Chad?
Ben: I'm trying.
Abigail: I mean, he's a waste of your energy. I mean, honestly, he's not worth it. He has no effect on us.
Ben: Well, I'm glad to hear you say that.
Abigail: Well, I wouldn't be saying it if it wasn't true. Seriously, I'm really happy with our relationship right now and where it's going.
Ben: You are so beautiful when you're sure about something. You're beautiful all the time.
Abigail: Bye.
Ben: Bye.
Karin: Not to be pushy or anything, but does your boyfriend have a brother?
Abigail: [Chuckles] Unfortunately, Karin, just a big sister. Yeah.
Karin: [Softly] Why?
Chad: [Chuckles] So Kate and Clyde...
Jordan: This isn't funny, Chad.
Chad: Look, I've known Kate a long time. Actually, it kind of is. Okay, but I'm sorry it was upsetting to you. Okay, what are you thinking?
Jordan: Clyde's really good at this game. And he can fool a lot of people, so all I can do is just sit back and wait, because I know he's going to mess up. And when he does, everyone will see him for the kind of man that he really is.
Chad: Hey... if you need anything from me, you got it. You know that, don't you?
Clyde: Mmm.
Kate: Mmm. [Chuckles] You know, I am afraid I made things a little bit more difficult to clear up between you and Jordan. And I apologize for that.
Clyde: There's no need to apologize. My relationship with Tammy Sue's never been easy.
Kate: Well, maybe we should talk about something more pleasant. Any more thoughts about buying a place here in town?
Clyde: I have been thinking a lot about that.
Kate: And?
Clyde: Maybe there's a better way I could put that money to use.
Sonny: Okay, Mom... I'll bite. Who did you see at the hospital?
Adrienne: I think you know. I think that's why you reacted the way you did when t asked you if you wanted to make the hospital coffee run.
Sonny: What way? How did I react? T and Ben are my employees. I don't have to do it.
Adrienne: Sonny, I'm your mother. You were never a good liar. Please don't start now.
Sonny: Fine. Who is at the hospital? Just say it.
Adrienne: Paul... Narita.
Sonny: I love you, Paul.
Brady: Look, Granddad, blabbing about my relationship or the end of my relationship with Theresa and thinking that I got her pregnant, how does that serve anyone?
Victor: [Scoffs] Well, I didn't think of it as blabbing. I thought about it as a public service announcement. "Beware--duplicitous town whore."
Brady: That's not how people would interpret it, Granddad, okay? They would think, and correctly so, that I was a damn fool, all right? It's old news, but--but it's my news. I'm done with it. I don't want to hear about it anymore.
Victor: So you don't want Melanie to know about it.
Brady: I don't know how many times I can say this, no, I don't want Melanie to know about it, and if I do want her to know about it, I'll be the one to tell her, okay? Do I have to--I mean, do I have to say it in Greek?
Victor: You don't speak Greek.
Brady: No, but you speak English, so I'm going to try this again. Stop blabbing, please.
Victor: Fine. Fine. I assume I can make an innocuous inquiry without incurring your wrath?
Brady: [Sighs] Go ahead.
Victor: It's about your friend Melanie... who we're all glad to have around. I mean, she's delightful. She's funny. She's charming. But why the hell did she come back so suddenly?
Daniel: So I was emailing a bit with Carly.
Maggie: And what does she think about all this?
Daniel: Well, she knew Melanie was coming back, but the why is a little bit puzzling to her too.
Maggie: [Sighs] Do you think we're just overthinking it? I mean, isn't it possible that maybe she was just more homesick than she let on? She just wanted to come back home. You know, maybe that's all there is to it. [Chuckles]
Melanie: There's not one thing on here about it. I was all worried for nothing after all. [Sighs with relief]
[Telephone ringing]
Daniel: Hello?
Kelly: Hi. Is Melanie Jonas there?
